Reviews (page 9 of 13)
First time I've voluntarily listened to Adele and.... well the world didn't exactly collapse. I have to concede that this woman is a master of upbeat self pity, although a decent relationship counsellor could have ruined her career. A tear and chardonnay-soaked 3*
i’ve heard this before i only liked 2 songs
Her voice is undeniably amazing. Not exactly my style, but its still good.
Mid,too mid for me
hittikimaran ulkopuolella aika tasapaksu kokonaisuus, mutta ei kieltämistä etteikö Adele olisi ihan sikaupea ja ääni ihan toismaallinen
Certainly neither bad music nor a bad voice. Easy listen during work.
Didn't mind it, have heard this one before when Beth has played it
I don't know, it's not terrible.
"Rolling in the Deep" is a sweet fucking song intrinsically, but what makes it an all-time classic and gives this whole album its oomph is Adele's vocal art – those little voice tricks, the absolutely limber oscillation between buttery straight notes and vibrato and melisma, the split-second lip of falsetto at the start of phrases. Also the backup singers, also the percussion. Just very immaculate.
I've heard these songs over and over again. I liked this one better than 25, the music was more interesting and I think her voice was more on the money in this album. Favorite Track: Lovesong
High 3. Distinct sound, some classics, but I'm not likely to go out of my way to listen very often
very polished, well-crafted songs
Probably the most contemporary album on my list so far. This album was freakin' everywhere when it came out so it's tough to approach it fresh.
Adele is clearly a skilled musician. She can sing and the artistry and vision of an album like this are crystal clear. We all got completely saturated in it upon release by the record industry. It was everywhere, inescapable. Because she wrote songs that my mom and high school kids could listen to. Doesn’t make it bad, but it was less emotionally moving tot me than it was intended to be. Just still pretty white and dinner cluby.
I think saying that adele has a beautiful voice is a bit of a given. i d say over all i liked the album, of course the famous ones but surprisingly also "i'll be waiting". I didnt really expect her to do these types of tracks and i've been listening to it a lot. I think what made listening to the album a lot of fun was finding out it's kinda hannigram core :)) It was a lot of fun to imagine scenarios, animatics, who s speaking how it relates to the plot. In that sense it was a lot of fun, but i don really remember the rest of the tracks. Over all good!
Girl’s got some pipes! The singles are still epic too. Gets a little one-one in between, still a worthy listen.
It's hard to evaluate something like this. I don't like it, but that's more due to overexposure. I am sick to death of Adele, but she's a good musician. I've listened to some very unpleasant music recently however, and I feel generous.
6/10
No doubt Adele has a great voice and is a great singer. As powerful as the emotion and passion in her voice, the music component falls flat - its boring, uninteresting, and formulaic. An Amy Winehouse song came on after this album concluded as it struck me how much more interesting the jazzy, bluesy, funky style of music makes her so much more interesting. The Adele stuff has also been so much a part of meme culture that it starts to feel like a joke - that 'no one like youuuuuu' song as an example. I can imagine goosebumps first time hearing but now it evokes images of some bad SNL skit. This album is worthy of being on this list - it just isn't something I would reach for. The modern equivalent of Barry Manilow or Neil Diamond - it's nice but too adult contemporary for this old man. 3/5
Very good voice!
Ja het is absurd hoeveel hits hier op staan, maar de muziek van Adele doet zo weinig met me
HELL YEAH. I should relisten to more Iron maiden
One of those albums that’s not really up my street but I can completely understand why it was massive. Adele has an incredible voice and this is a solid set of songs. Also, fair play for making Lovesong by the Cure sound like a Bond theme.
Great voice.
3.5
I could have predicted this review before listening. Vocals, incredible. Production, good. Songwriting, solid enough. But as with all Adele albums I can't help but feel a huge lack of soul or edge, anything of interest that will make it stand out from the rest. I guess it's catered to the masses and that's fine, but it's just bland & tiresome by the end of the album. The most 6/10 album possible.
Overall, va bene. Muy depre para mi gusto, sin embargo es hiper icónico.
As thrilling as mayonnaise.
Get over it.
"set fire to the rain" is a masterpiece but unfortunately I have to judge the album in his entirety.
Ja
Oké Adèle is een goede zangeres, misschien wel de beste op t moment. Het ding is dat het voor mij te pop en te mainstream is om hier echt van te kunnen genieten.
A couple of great tunes but the power ballard fillers wore a bit thin.
Hot take, but not my fave.
It's hard to listen to these records honestly, because they were so popular, it's hard to remind yourself to listen past the familiarity. Adele has an amazing voice, and I don't think I realized how Motown inspired some of the production is. Also, "Rumor Has It" gives me PTSD from its ubiquitous radio play
Bäst är Rolling in the deep, Rumour has it, Set fire to the rain, Someone like you
I like the arrangements on this record, its not bombastic, there's some subtly here. Probably necessary, given Adele's powerful voice. Overall, the songs are generic and plain, nothing really special here.
Undeniably a truly outstanding voice and this album hits like a freight train with the opening tracks ‘rolling in the deep’ & ‘rumour has it’ unfortunately though the album then veers off down a pity party of hatred towards men (or man) who knows! A couple of decent songs along the way no doubt - ‘set fire to the rain’ one of them but the feelings had already turned cold. The Cure cover ‘lovesong’ felt horribly flat for Adele before she ended on the high of a massive vocal in ‘someone like you’ I have also Unfortunately seen Adele live which is always in the back of my mind.. and not for the right reasons, she sounded terrible and really put me off her so that may have had a slight influence on the scoring. I’m going to go best song- ‘Rolling in the deep’ Worst song- ‘Lovesong’ Overall 6/10
What a quintessential early 2010s album. It’s like her own “Back to Black”. A lot of the hit singles here are very sentimental ballads (Someone Like You, Set Fire to the Rain) I find overproduced in casual listening but enough to get someone to karaoke to (3.5).
Wanted to give it a 4 or a perfect but it honestly got kinda repetitive. Obviously goated voice though
Incredible voice and I was excited to listen to it. I'm not sure if I would listen to it again but I enjoyed it.
Great! Adele’s voice is incredible. Totally not my style of music that I would listen to everyday but I liked it either way. I see myself coming back to this album on a day I feel like a mystical woman in a fairytale. (Is that weird?😭😭) 3.5/5
My opinion on 21 more or less mirrors the critical consensus. The vocals? Great! The songwriting? Not very adventurous! In a mathematical improbability, 21 is greater than 25 because there are a few songs that really stand out from the pack. "Rolling in the Deep" is the main one, with its soaring chorus. "Set Fire to the Rain" is another, even if it has a bit too much of that 2010s adult alternative sound to it. "Rumor Has It" leans into that sound as well and suffers from it; it's almost got that Lumineers / Black Keys stomp. Some of the rest leans into a more classic soul vibe, with "Lovesong" sounding straight out of the 60s or 70s. There are some heartfelt lyrics here and almost every track has some impressive vocal moment, but there's just not enough variety to keep it from dragging. For me, "Take It All" is where the album starts to become a chore.
I’ve heard this album too many times. It isn’t bad though.
I like Adele
Not my kind of music but I can value this album and understand why it is on this list.
Generational talent. I think the songs got over played which harms the overall draw of the album presently.
great music to buy groceries to. 6/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: HE WON'T GO, SET FIRE TO THE RAIN, LOVESONG LEAST FAVOURITE SONGS: RUMOUR HAS IT
Schon klar, warum die Hits Hits sind. Aber auch der Rest ist jetzt nicht unterirdisch. Kann man schon hören.
Honestly, outside of the three big hits (which are incredible bangers and were EVERYWHERE in 2011), this is pretty disappoint generic pop with a tendency for pathos. This is not surprising from a 21 yo though. The three big hits are 5/5, the rest is 2 (oh I also like He won’t go, it’s a bit different than the rest with the groovy rhythm) and the cure cover is really bad, like a bland cover they would play in a restaurant. I’ll settle on 3.
I didn’t enjoy 25, so I admittedly had low expectations for 22. But I was caught a bit off guard with the soulful pop album. Of course, Adele’s vocals shine - a certain master of her class comparable to some of the best women to ever belt out a tune. But the album is also very widely accessible, without being completely generic. Not breaking any songwriting boundaries, but it’s got a classic timeless sound with bouncy pop songs, soul and r&b throwbacks, piano ballads. It’s still not something I’ll reach for, but I wouldn’t avoid it and enjoy a few songs which is above my expectations
It had its place, and at 21 she had made it. Good for you Adele, have a great life.
It's nice to get another contemporary album, especially one as well known as this. Contemporary Indie pop is probably my favorite type of music because it does not restrict itself to any particular style or genre, often fuses genres, and has the full extent of modern music technology at its disposal. I certainly appreciated the variety of styles from Adele. She has a great voice and it pairs well with the gospel Feel she displays on a few tracks. Most notably is rolling in the deep; simple, but effective. This album is an example of pop music that my generation grew up listening to, so I already knew half the songs from hearing them on the radio as a kid. It's not surprising that my favorite songs were the ones that I had never heard; "I'll be waiting" and "he won't go" we're my favorites, in that order. The lyrical content was not particularly interesting, as is often in the case with these type of chart topping massive pop stars. I can think of several other female vocalist who have an amazing voice, but extremely uninteresting lyrics. I think Adele possesses a little bit more artistry than some of those others. Although, piano ballads were pretty Lame(?), except for "take it all" which had some nice soulful harmonic direction and some gospel choir vocals if I recall correctly. I don't think this album. was good enough to give it a four.
The success of this album speaks for itself. You don't get billions of plays without being outstandingly talented and having the best production, and also appealing to the lowest common denominator of listeners. I think the album is excellent at what it set out to do. I also don't think I would ever choose to put it on. It's really impressive that she could produce this depth of performance and songwriting at 21, but I guess people say the best pop music is made by youngsters. Some of her pronunciations are annoying. She pronounces risk like "reesk". . . .it sounds very affected. I don't know if she inspired a generation of white girls to sing that way or if she was just following the trend, but I'm not a fan.
Not my cuppa, but dang was this album a masterclass of creating singles.
Meh
3.5
a good one
A couple of belters, but as an album...? 3,5?
3.5/5
I remember when this album first came out I was 18. All I really remember was how overplayed it was. I enjoy a few of the songs primarily one and only and someone like you, but the rest honestly just drives me a bit batty with how overplayed it's been.
I felt like I had already known a bunch of these songs since so many I heard a ton when I was younger Actually 3.5 Favorite: he wont go
We didn’t need more than one Adele album on this list. She has a great set of pipes but these songs were everywhere when they released and never really went away so I’m kind of bored of them. Still, I recognise the talent.
Set fiyah to the rain
Enjoyed this more than I expected to. And the Cure cover was fun. Wish there was a 3.5 function.
Esta bueno, es una gran voz. De toas formas, no es mi estilo, los colores blanco y negro dan un indicio del disco con temas profundos y con melodías drama-románticas.
Having not been nearly 21 years old when this album came out, I couldn’t grasp just how impressive Adele’s vocal capabilities were (and still are). Now, having been a dumbass 21 year old, I get the hype. It’s a voice that sounds like it’s lived a whole lifetime. The instrumentation on here is pretty bland in retrospect, but I’ve gotta remember that at least in the states in 2011 everything was going electronic, so anything resembling an ensemble of “real” instrumentation was defiant by radio standards. “One and Only” was the only standout for me of the not-mega-famous songs to come out of this project. But “Someone Like You” is still worth its weight in gold. Distills all the greatness out of her voice, a simple and effective arrangement that provides a proper backdrop. We all got it right on this song. Strong 3/5 not a revolution in sound, but it doesn’t have to be, Adele’s voice does the lifting just fine
Muy buenos temas pero algunos flaquean
Hitsene er sterke og står seg. Adele synger flott, men det blir 80-talls powerballade enn arven etter de store soulsangerne og det er ikke noe for meg.
Better than Coldplay
Ah. Sure this is a great album. However, I'm not super stoked on massive productions. Every song has been over played on every radio/Pandora/ Spotify station. I get it, but now I'd like to not have to remember.
Fui totalmente prejuicioso a pensar que no me iba a caber ni un poco y me fui domado. Gran álbum. Todas canciones buenas, y muy bien interpretadas. De principio a fin. Inesperado cover de The Cure incluido. Gran 6/10, casi 7
She can sing. Of that there is zero doubt. Her voice is simply amazing. Swooning love ballads and pop songs aren’t really my thing but it is enjoyable to listen to her sing.
Undeniably a great singer and a well produced album, just not my kind of thing
1 - Rolling in the Deep (the instantly iconic opener signaled Adele's arrival and subsequent dominance for the next decade. The song has aged incredibly well and is one of relatively few timeless hits from the last 2 decades. Excellent around) 4.5/5 2 - Rumour Has It (a much more soul tinged song with a lovely jazzy breakdown for a bridge. Another excellent song that keeps the album's momentum high) 4.5/5 3 - Turning Tables (a subdued piano ballad with some nice strings to back it up. A bit too much melodrama for me but credit goes to Adele's performance, which carries this song) 3.5 4 - Don't You Remember (another slower ballad though I don't like this one as much as the previous one. Adele is pushed way too high in the mix and she clashes with the slower and quieter parts and only truly fits in when the instruments get a little louder halfway through) 3/5 5 - Set Fire to the Rain (another iconic single from this album. A nice burst of energy to keep the album going after 2 slow songs. Though I prefer the previous singles this one is still a solid indelible addition to the Adele canon) 4/5 6 - He Won't Go (a jazzy start makes way for a slightly more energetic poppier verse. The jazz influence never truly goes away even when the song is at its poppiest. A fine if unmemorable deep cut) 3.5/5 7 - Take It All (another ballad where Adele is too high in the mix. Her voice overpowers just about everything else on this song. It also feels rather underproduced compared to the broad, maximal style of the rest of the tracks) 3/5 8 - I'll Be Waiting (an honest-to-God Britpop song on an Adele song; if this was done by any British rock band in the mid-90s it would be hailed as an underrated alt-rock gem. An unexpected surprise on this otherwise very safe and measured album) 4/5 9 - One and Only (after the huge surprise of the previous song, Adele brings it back to basics with a mid-tempo soul track. It gets a little samey and meandering across its 5 1/2 minutes though the backing chorus and end section is a nice touch recalling divas of eras past) 3.5/5 10 - Lovesong (a moodier acoustic guitar driven piece with some very pretty strings that accompany it later on. An excellent hushed towards song proving the consistent writing across every section of this album) 4/5 11 - Someone Like You (the other huge single; I remember the first time I heard this on radio and though it didn't sound like anything else before or after it. Of all the ballads and torch songs on this album this is far and away the best; the structure and writing make its monster single status evident. All in all a strong final track for a strong breakthrough album) 4/5 OVERALL - 7.5/10
Can forgive the earnest sentimental tone cuz it would only matter if her voice sucked. Incredible vocal performance.
When I was younger, my dad would talk about how bands I adore like Duran Duran and The Cure were so overplayed during his childhood and young adult years that he’s just burnt out on it. I felt that way listening to this album. She’s good af tho. Crazy that she was 21 when she made this.
This is great music for someone else. I recognize how important to mass market this album and its songs were, it's kindof weird that I can't even fit it into a genre? Ballads? Pop? I enjoyed some of the songs that were not massive billboard hits.
This was an inescapable album in 2011. Rolling in the Deep and the other singles were rotating on radio and were included in streaming playlists in the most primative iterations of spotify. I as a musician and someone who critically examines music, this is good stuff. Excellent song writing, melody construction, the ode to classic motifs and stylings. Its all there. But the one huge drawback of Adele all this time is she embodies the same swagger and sound of Amy Winehouse. And today I heard the patois in the voice and it upset me. Amy is my favorite. And we didn't get enough of her. Merit deserves 4 stars personal introspection dings it 1 star.
I have no strong feelings about it. But Adele's voice is wonderful.
Unfortunately I think I good chunk of this thing is kind of a snoozefest. Something about Adele’s beautiful singing voice and clear songwriting talent being tucked underneath the most boring production and composition just does not jive with me. If I was a single white woman at Barnes and Noble in 2011 however… Some good moments, cover of Lovesong is good but really just makes me want to listen to the original. I’ll Be Waiting kinda slaps though. Sleeper hit. Highlights: Take It All, I’ll Be Waiting, One And Only, Lovesong Lowlight: Turning Tables
you're never too big for Adele
Definitely not my favorite genre, but the woman obviously has a lot of talent.
This had some big hits that are catchy but overall it just doesn’t excite me
No denying her incredible voice, but suffers from Top 40 production cheese. Just too glossy for it to be in any regular rotation.
It's a standard one, but not really in my taste. I was in love with the songs "Someone like you" as a kid.
Solid
She sure can sing, but this might be the blandest album on the list. At least yet.
Really hard to rate considering her place in modern pop lol. Makes the album itself less cohesive but the singles are pretty fantastic
Amazing vocals.
3.6/5 Favorite Songs: Rolling in the Deep Set Fire to the Rain Lovesong (The Cure cover) Someone Like You
What a voice and at least 3 generational tunes. Insane for 21 years old. Middle part is fairly forgettable
If I didn't have to listen to this my entire teenage life (shout out mum) I would maybe enjoy it more. I would rate lower if I am honest, however I will be realistic that this is pretty good.
Light 3
Adele has an amazing voice, but just as I felt when listening to 25, I just cannot understand sitting down and listening to an entire album of this. For one, it all sounds same, and while that sound is perfectly cromulent, it grows tiresome. It's also difficult to latch onto it when the melodrama is always set to 11. Every song is so sweeping, so dramatic, dealing with some lost love that it's hard to stay engaged. I felt this in particular through "Don't You Remember" and "Set Fire to the Rain." Notable exception to these critiques: "I'll Be Waiting," which feels like it could've been a pop-soul bop released decades ago that would now been seen as a classic. "Rolling in the Deep" is a good song, but I've heard it so many times I'm sick of it. "Rumour Has It" is annoying. "Someone Like You" still hits, even though I've also heard it a million times.
un álbum que jamás se me hubiese ocurrido escuchar
Adele’s voice is amazing on this album. However, it’s all so very mono-thematic; every song is about heartbreak. There are other human emotions to sing about too.
nice, but too epic
Great voice, but most of this is too one-dimensional. It's consistent throughout and I enjoyed it enough, and the hits are (no surprise) the highlights. Best song: Rolling in the Deep Worst song: Rumour Has It Cover Check: Adele at 21
On one hand, she's undeniably talented and is deserving of everything she has achieved. On the other hand, this is not my genre, I'm not her target audience and some of her vocal affectations don't work for me. 2.5/5 but since some generosity has been shown to me today, I'll be generous and round up.
High hits. Low misses.
Partially known.
Beautiful voice
I’m not the target audience, but her talent is undeniable.
Ik krijg er een beetje radio vibes van. Er zitten bekende nummers tussen, maar.ze klinken we een beetje hetzelfde
Her voice is gorgeous, and I love the Motown/blues influence, but I am simply not a fan of ballads, no matter how beautifully sung or produced. Would have loved if it was full of Rumor Has Its! Beautiful music that I won't reach for again.
Not too bad! Not my style of music but a good album.
Repeat listen
Her vocal talent is so good that it gives me goosebumps, and the power of the choruses on several songs is immense. Several times I clutched my chest and asked Adele who hurt her. Despite this, it's hard for me to imagine playing this album very often, possibly because I've been surrounded by these songs since high school and they've become a bit like wallpaper. While it will never be in my personal collection, I recognize that this one of the finest pop records of the 21st century.
Her voice is great and there are several songs that I liked although it's not my favorite kind of music. The beginning and the end are amazing. 3,4/5.
I lived through the hype of this album as a middle schooler, but in revisiting, I can't help but feel like the production is pretty dated. Overemphasis on the hooks (it worked, all these songs were massive hits), leading to me preferring the songwriting on 19 and 25. B-side clears imo Best Track: Someone Like You.
Made me feel like I was out shopping with my mum in a H&M in the early 2010s.
There are some good songs on this, kinda a breakup album it appears to me.
Decent music and she has a great voice. Really enjoyed Rolling in the Deep (no idea that was Adele…!) but the rest of the album wasn’t so memorable.
6,5/10 Highlights: Rolling in the Deep Rumour Has It Set Fire to the Rain
Some strong & memorable songs. I has this modern take on Rythm'n'Blues that make it quite good but it has also those songs where while I recognize the performance in production and singing it just does not make it for me (e.g. Turning Tables ; Don't you remember ; …). Favorite Songs: Rolling in the Deep
I can't deny Adele has a fantastic voice, and I do really love Rolling in the Deep. A lot of the rest of this album is just a little over-earnest though. It must be sung with a fist clutched at the mic, face wrought with anguish as you throw your feelings out into the world. There's no let up, I would have liked an interval somewhere to catch my breath. It's obvious why this is so popular though.
It’s fine, her voice is absolutely stunning but a lot of the songs sound too similar

primo album ascoltato, sono già gasata. Di questo album conoscevo solo le tracce più famose e mainstream, ma in realtà è molto interessante nella sua interezza. Ci sta!!
Thought it would be dull and insippid and much if it was. But a few really good Songs.
Good stuff
Decent, but there is a certain safeness to it that stops it from being really great 3.5*
Only ever heard the hits, of which there’s 4 on this album!? She’s got an incredible voice. The Cure cover was a nice added bonus.
Perus Adele, yllättävän kiva. Ei kuitenkaan "säväytä" mutta taustamusiikkina ihan leppoisa. Yllätyin että Curen Lovesongista coveri!
Incredible voice, safe as houses album and lyricism. Just not interesting or particularly exploratory. I spent at least half the runtime wishing I was listening to Amy Winehouse instead. That Lovesong cover is quite good though!
Quite glad I got this one *after* 25 (which I hated), because it opened as a pleasant surprise. Yes, the singles are overplayed to hell and back but they really are quite good...and then my hope faded away as I realised that yup, this has a similar problem of being kinda commercialised nothing. It's still pretty good, and infinitely better than 25, but. And then it just went...downhill. Blech. It's fine.
Rolling in the Deep Rumour Has It Set Fire to the Rain Someone Like You
blue
Some of them definitely not my cup of tea but it was nice tho
Me gustó.
bueno
meh
Someone else's review of this album claims: "Four of the songs on this album are about ham" and proceeded to give it 3 stars... I can appreciate that statement.
Overproduced plaintive wailing about heartbreak is NOT something I vibe with. One or two Adele songs? Great! A whole album of it? Tedious.
Definitely full of bangers but I wouldn’t find myself putting this album on most of the time
Good ma music
Fine. The Lovesong cover was surprising good.
I think it was Harry that once said to me, he could go the rest of his life without hearing any of the songs on Zeppelin IV. Not because they're bad songs, we've heard them so, so many times. I feel the same way about so many of the songs on this record. How many times have I heard Rolling in The Deep walking through a Marshalls? But, take a second to imagine with me. Imagine, you'd never heard any of these songs. How hard does Rolling in The Deep hit if you've never heard it? Does it change the trajectory of your entire listening experience? I'm not blown away by the depth of the songwriting. Obviously, her voice is unbelievable, but the songs didn't do much for me. That said, BALL DON'T LIE. The least popular song on this record has 89 million streams on Spotify as of this post. 3 songs with over 2 billion plays. This record is unfathomably popular. It has something 3.5/5
first time listening thru but obviously have heard most of these songs before as they’ve been inescapable since release. kinda enjoyed “I’ll Be Waiting” powerhouse voice duh but I was surprised how underdeveloped some of the instruments / tracks felt.
I appreciate it but I wouldn't choose to listen to it
Not as musically boring as 25
There's probably 2 songs on here I thought were pretty and 2-3 I thought were great. The rest more or less blended together in a forgettable, and skippable, mass. Not really my jam, overall. 2.673 rounds up to a 3.
It was a pleasant enough experience, but I was a little bored. I feel like it’s Amy Winehouse with a little less flava. The voice gets it over the finish line, but I wouldn’t mind some more chances taken.
Sad mom core
I think Adele's music has been too in my face for me to really enjoy this fully. Songs are good and voice is amazing..but when I still here Rollin in Deep I think of bad coffee shops. I think i will fully respect this in another 10 years.
More upbeat than I remembered, but still quite whiny
Very surprised by this. It turned out to be really good.
good voice good beat/tempo Rolling in the deep is pretty good bad when the first song is the best not my type of music would rather listen to Tally Hall 6/10 album
beautiful voice, i just didn't find the songs memorable
Adele undoubtedly has a strong voice that has effortlessly captivated the world, but I found myself rather unmoved by most of the album. The belting style of singing isn't necessarily my cup of tea, and after having heard many of the overplayed tracks from this album throughout my life, I really tried to enjoy this album. I was only somewhat successful. Regardless, "Lovesong" and "I'll Be Waiting" were standout songs for me personally.
Previously rated: #38 - 25 (2/5) ********************* Album #1,036 Even though I'm only rating it one star higher, I enjoyed this way more than 25. I like the more upbeat stuff like I'll Be Waiting and retro sounding songs like He Won't Go. The album doesn't really end well. The last three or so songs, including a not great version of The Cure's Lovesong and a couple more slow, boring songs. That, and her sometimes annoying pronunciation and reliance on the same vocal tricks over and over, I can't rate this higher.
She’s got a great voice obviously. Doesn’t get me in the guts emotionally.
First album better?
Mostly boring
Listened to this album when I was like 10 years old. Good but not great. Excellent voice I just like music with a little bit more depth and experimenting
I enjoyed the songs that I hadn't heard before, but unfortunately the popular ones have been too overplayed for me to enjoy
top 3 - Rolling In The Deep, I’ll Be Waiting, Rumour Has It. It’s alright.
Overall: 6/10 A good enough album that I won't think about much more in the future. The singles are bangers and everything else is nice. This is her best album for sure but Adele is really an artist that just kind of exists to me. Huge respect for covering The Cure though. Fav Song: Rolling in the Deep
Review - undeniably a very talented singer. I think the music on this album is more interesting and varied than people give it credit for, probably in part because they don't like the majority of people who like this album. Like, the backing vocals on the chorus of Rolling in the Deep are so weird! Not a harmony I've heard in music much before, never mind pop music. Still not really my sort of thing but have to admit I liked it more than I expected. Rating - 7/10 Need to listen? YES
I love a lot of the songs on this album but the rest is like, I don't know... It's just filler.
Commits the cardinal sin of not being the album that got ME through being 18 and heartbroken. Still, mostly good, but rarely mind-blowing, with the obvious exception of Someone Like You, which has deservedly gained modern classic status.
NEVER MIND ILL FIND... SOMEONE LIKE YOUUUUUUUU-HOOOO Great, but heard it enough where its not the greatest
Someone like you is a lovely song and Adele has a great voice but I felt unenthusiastic about the rest. Unsure why, the lyrics to many songs are heartfelt but just had low impact on me.
Rolling in a Deep is one of those songs that would be a classic in any decade. Rumour Has It and Set Fire to the Rain are both good. The Cure's Lovesong works fine as a cover here. But everything else sounds rather bloated and dated.
Some big hits on this one and always been enjoyable enough. The natural pop edge, but still land a bit more preferable than most. Still pretty wild she was only 21, even if somewhat manufactured. It does have some depth and emotion but just can’t really shake the polished, pop presentation and structure of it all. Gets a little samey and predictable. Was okay with it ending, even though it had me bopping a little and stirred ever so slightly (3.5)
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this! Her voice is of course epic. Some of the songs were really fun. Good all around pop.
The hits are really the worst songs on this album. “I’ll Be Waiting” and “One and Only” are genuinely great, supremely soulful tracks that perfectly suit her voice. She really needs a full band behind her, and not just a piano.
Soul music brought across the pond, and dashed with a little pop/rick by white artists, is a formula that has somehow worked repeatedly over the years. This album is not an exception, although somewhat less iconic than predecessors like the Stones or the Beatles. I'm glad she brought so much joy to my oversea mates. Enjoyable if not particularly memorable, but I'm probably too fucking old and jaded. At least that is what the kids tell me.
The faster the song, the better.
I was kind of excited to check out some Adele deep cuts, but unfortunately most of this album just didn’t do anything for me. You can’t deny her voice, but I didn’t think anything of the non-single tracks came anywhere close to the actual singles.
I can see why this was such a big deal but I can’t help but think I’ve heard all these songs before, done better by singers like Etta James and Aretha Franklin, and even more recent acts like Lauryn Hill and Beyonce. Not bad but nothing groundbreaking here
Well, can't say my opinion has changed in the literal 24 hours since our previous Adele album. Still think she has a great voice, and her music is done well, but it's not for me.
Nostalgic. Not my type of music tho.
Not my style
3,5/5
reminds me of one specific house I lived in
the queen of drama-rama sad ballads. this is an entire album of them. not bad.
First half bangs
Adele obviously has a phenominal voice. She can belt it but also has a great raspy lower range. This style of like pop-ballads or whatever you call this genre isn't for me though. Its just forgettable outside of the couple singles that the radio played on repeat a decade ago. Musically there's not much going on - just your standard studio band playing some slower tunes. Adele is the star: you came for her and you get her singing love songs very well. But somehow there's a piece of the puzzle missing here, like she's kinda just singing for the sake of it. I found a couple tracks to be missing some emotion, or oomph, or something. Standouts are "Rolling in the Deep" "I'll Be Waiting" and "Someone Like You." As a side note, I really wish people would stop covering "Lovesong." My summary: kinda boring, Adele is solid but just not super engaging. I'm probably not the target audience for one of the bestselling albums of all time. 3/5 for me.
Her songs with a band are her big songs. The songs with just a piano are mediocre.
Would be a 4 star if actively going through a breakup. Crazy how young she was when this blew up.
Have always loved this album but I think I used to listen to it so much that now I’m bored of it. But obviously great
Solid album through and through. Adele is such a talent.
*2011. *Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain, and Rumor Has It are all on this album. *Rolling is a great song, and Adele is definitely talented. Not my style, but I appreciate her. RATING - 6/10
Some great songs. A great voice. But I’m not going to listen to this again.
Wow! I mean, when I was growing up, like as a literal child, this album was everywhere. Adele was constantly on the radio, and as I’ve gotten older I think I kind of just lumped her in with other radio hits from my childhood. This album is much more than that, and I’m glad I gave it a through listen! I feel that she avoids cliches in her lyricism, even as some pop structure is still there. I enjoy the almost baroque piano and the clear soul and Motown influence. I can’t believe Rolling in the Deep is syncopated… It’s hit after hit after hit! Emotional, beautiful production, and soulful voice. She seems to take after Amy Winehouse, who I do prefer—Adele plays it a little safer. This album isn’t groundbreaking but it performs very, very well in its lane.
One of those albums where I’ve heard all the songs but never listened to the complete album front to back, which is probably for the best as all the songs start to blend together. When this one showed up on the randomizer I got really excited, but then I started spacing out quite a bit, especially towards the back half as it felt like it was all just kind of meshing together. Some great songs here, but I’ll just listen to those songs
I’ve never felt the urge to listen to 21 before now, but I always suspected that if I did I would be impressed. I can’t really say that happened. Objectively it’s good, but I didn’t get into it much. When there was drums i liked the way they were produced. There were a couple near the end that were more gospel and that improved things a bit. The ones I recognised (1st and last) still stood up as quality. That’s about it really. Would’ve been happy to have been pleasantly surprised but no. I want to give it 2.5 but I’ll be kind and round up.
The best song on the album is, by far, “Someone like You.” And I quite like her cover of the Cure’s “Lovesong.” But the rest of the album strikes me as pretty pedestrian.
I don't mind Adele's hits thought they are a bit overplayed. That said, the remainder of the songs I hadn't heard were actually more to my liking. Not a bad album on the whole.
Middle of the road. She has a good voice but the songs and the music style's not my taste.
I just got 25 a few days ago. This one was better but still just so boring. I will never understand the appeal of Adele. Sure she has a great voice but doesnt that just make this even more disappointing?
It's adele
Adele’s vocals were definitely the standout in this album; so powerful, emotional, and technically impressive on every track. I appreciate how raw and honest this album feels. That being said, it’s not necessarily my type of music, while it is very well made it is not something I’d regularly listen to.
Terrible out, start the challenge with boring skip small not for me on a Saturday morning, sorry Adele
AND I SET FIREEEEE, TO THE RAINNN. (I think this is on the album I didn't listen to it, but love Adele)
36/1089 3.3329* She has a good voice. Didn't need to remake Love song. Hits...rolling, fire.
My favorite Adele album, for what that's worth.
Adele bro really
The hits on this album really hit. The pre chorus on "Set Fire to the Rain" is so addicting, and there are some great melodies to be had. However, the songs in between are incredibly forgettable. I found myself checking the track list multiple times, waiting for the next song I was familiar with. Three stars. (Favorite track: Set Fire to the Rain.)
Love her voice but doesn't really make me feel things
3.1
Adele is brilliant - not one of my all time favourites but it’s nostalgic asf, reminds me so much of my mom. Adele is such a diva
It was not without its charms.
this album was pretty cool, adeles soulful voice combined with some piano melodies that will tug on your heartstrings makes for a sentimental experience. unfortunately im not as into slower piano music like adeles songs are, but this is a fantastic album nonetheless. forever a classic. 7/10
schönes Album, viele bekannte Lieder die ich leider etwas satt gehört habe
21 is an album that leans heavily on emotional directness, and for the most part it works, but not without wearing thin. Adele’s voice is undeniably powerful and expressive, and when she lets it carry quieter moments, there is real intimacy and ache. The heartbreak at the centre of the record feels genuine, and that sincerity is what gives the album its initial impact. Where it starts to lose me is in how relentlessly it pushes that emotion. Song after song circles the same themes with very little tonal shift, and the big, belting moments begin to blur together. The production often amplifies this, swelling everything toward drama rather than allowing space or subtlety to develop. Instead of deepening the feeling, the album sometimes feels like it is repeating itself at a higher volume. In the end, 21 feels like a snapshot of a very specific emotional moment rather than a fully varied album experience. There are standout tracks that deserve their acclaim, but taken as a whole it can feel heavy in a way that limits repeat listens. I respect its honesty and understand its massive appeal, but it does not quite hold me all the way through.
The production is rightly designed to let the music take a backseat to the vocals, but it leaves the whole thing feeling a little soulless to me — like expensive karaoke. I found it a little exhausting to listen to at first because I felt like she was singing everything at a nonstop 10/10. I did start to enjoy it more as it progressed and found “I’ll Be Waiting” to be the most enjoyable track. She’s got a supreme talent but it’s not my thing.
This album reminds me of angry old women arguing with each other during the Christmas rush at Jo-Ann Fabrics back in 2011. I was a receiving manager there at the time, and I vividly remember the chaotic packed stores, frustrated customers, and Adele playing nonstop over the speakers. That association is so burned into my memory that I can’t hear this album without being transported straight back to that exact environment.
3/5 obviously some of her best songs here but it's not the kind of music I gravitate toward
não faz meu tipo 🤷🏻♀️ mas é bom
lol
not my fav adele album but very nostalgic
🗣️💥 1,000 QUEER SHEEP, NEVER HAD BARE FEET 🎶🎤 My biggest personal gripe with this album has always been the instrumentation. It's so pared down, simple, hollow. Like a bunch of pre-recorded backing tracks for her to sing karaoke songs over (albeit extremely well). Yes it lets her voice shine and sure, some of these songs are meant to be piano ballad anthems, but damn if they'd produced some of these songs with a bigger, broader, fuller, more daring sound, some of these mid-tier 'filler' songs like Turning Tables / Do You Remember / He Won't Go coulda been willldddd. I'll Be Waiting / One And Only got the closest but still seemed to be lacking pizzazz. Give me more pocketed drumming, a less linear bass line, bigger horns/organ, give the bridges more sauce, I'm left begging for more out of these. Her voice is undeniable.
Good Album
Honestly its good but I don’t think im the right person for it.
Listened 12/14 954 am
Great voice but soooo over rated. Plus all up for body positivity until ozempic came around.
"Rolling in the Deep" is a legitimately great pop single, but "Rumour Has It" is the disco blues stomp jam that made my jaded ear open up to her. The rest of this leans into the greeting card balladry she's great at, but doesn't do it for me. I only want to hear "Someone Like You" again sung by a girl in a bridesmaid dress at a talent show (or even better, a boy in a bridesmaid dress), and I don't really want to go to a talent show, so...
I like songs like “Rolling in the Deep” and “Rumor Has It,” which marry Adele’s vocal talents to contemporary sounds and veer a little closer to an Amy Winehouse sense of darkness and mischief, and “Take It All,” which is soulful and strips away everything but a piano and some background choir accents. But then the middle goes soft and bombastic, in part because the material weakens. “Don’t You Remember” is overwrought and overproduced, and in general I start to feel a sense of being trapped in a Lifetime movie about a young woman unlucky in love.
Like an Amy Winehouse you can play for grandma. Good singles and I dont hate it, but unlikely to seek her songs out.
album im familiar with, some standout tracks. however i don’t feel like this is a memorable enough album other than said standout songs. would still buy it in cd though, something easy and crowd pleasing to play in the car
Quite disappointed to see this appear today! Still, let’s give it a go. Rolling in the Deep is quite a good opener. So far so good. Ho hum, then Set Fire to the Rain quite good. I’ll be Waiting has a bit of a 60’s soul vibe. Clearly has a strong and quite soulful voice. Overall not bad but not going in my collection! 3.5
I've heard this before and my recollection was that a couple of the singles were good but it was hampered by too many slow and repetitive ballads. Actually there are fewer skips than I remember and I was quite enjoying this and thought about giving it a 4, but I've docked it too a 3 because the last track was the overplayed Someone Like You.
Rolling in the Deep and Set Fire to the Rain are killer. Adele is just a force. The voice is so rich and beautiful and powerful. But overall, I felt like a lot of the other songs were just okay. Adele is the kind of artist I just want the greatest hits from.
Expected to hate it. Her voice brought me over and Someone Like You is an all time classic. Still not my thing, though, but it's hard to argue that this is bad.
3.5
Good, but all her albums sound the same. So why is this the second Adele album I get? Are there more of them? 3/5
The tracks from this album are so overplayed in so many venues and media that I have almost an allergic reaction to hearing them. This album was so successful in it's time the entire planet probably has heard at least 4 of the songs on it. I don't personally think that qualifies for being on the 1001 list but it's probably just my bias. Of all of the tracks I really like 'Rumour Has it' the most because it is the only song that seems to really dare to get a little strange. The hook in 'Rolling In The Deep' is good too with the kind of BeeGees backup singing. I cringe a little at the unmuffled bass drum stomp clap because it veers into the 'stomp, clap, hey' genre of that era. I don't think I'm an Adele hater. She's a real talent and I think her Skyfall theme is one of the best Bond themes, up there with the Shirley Bassey ones.
Have never been a big Adele fan, but this is a good album.
Not bad
Not really my thing but Adele's got undeniable talent.
есть пара норм песен, но в целом - 3 очка (извините).
Not my cup of tea, but a very good album
I really liked this album when I was like 14. I'm not sure I enjoy it as much anymore.
She’s got a great voice and a couple songs stood out but as a whole it didn’t do too much
I do like this album but it ain’t gonna be the best thing on this website
Peak
Adele is adele
Some bangers, some dull, not particularly interesting as an album.
I simply missed Adele, ie knew who she was and had an idea of her style but never took the time to listen to anything. Having now heard 21, there’s definitely stuff to like here. I like that she’s a songwriter (or part of a songwriting team) for her own material. I like the authentic blues vocal inflections, which suggests she’s a student of that kind of music. I get some vibes of ‘Dusty in Memphis’ Dusty Springfield. Also some Elton John. And I’m generally a big fan of female vocalists as well, especially when they sing their own songs. My problem here is it’s ultimately a bit poppy for my taste. A lot of the songs start out bluesy and I find myself wanting her to double down on the stripped back bluesy feel - but instead she always heads off in the direction of pop, in the power ballad style. These are production choices and no doubt it reflects her own tastes too. But I can’t help wishing she had a hip producer like Amy Winehouse did with Mark Ronson. Her voice and her general vibe is great. I just don’t enjoy the finished product all that much.
I'd heard tracks from the album before but never listened to the whole album end to end. In some ways I think that spoiled it for me a little. There's no doubt that Adele has a great voice and she definitely shows it on these tracks. However, I felt that the tracks at the start of the album were a bit 'samey' to me. When the music is mostly about her voice then it seemed that the same style was used on multiple tracks. Listened to individually as I'd normally hear them this wasn't really obvious. Compare that to the end of the album where on One and Only (my favourite), Lovesong and Someone Like You she showed her wide vocal range and differing singing styles. Not sure I'll listen to the whole album again at one sitting, but I will still enjoy her songs on their own.
classic
I sina bästa stunder gör hon fullt funktionsduglig soul. Som i Turninh tables, I’ll be wating och finfina One and only. Cure-covers funkar också bra. I andra låtar anas alltför tydligt den slätstrukna mainstreampop som kommit att bli Adeles signum.
The faster songs are decent but overplayed now, which isn't her fault. The slow songs are brutal. Obvious talent. 3 stars which feels a but harsh but this type of album just doesn't do anything for me.
Incredible voice. Mediocre lyrics. Her and Taylor Swift should go down some new roads.
Good album, but not my vibe
The strongest part of this album is the singing. There is no doubt that Adele’s voice carried the hell outta this album. It is well produced but sounds like something you’d hear walking around a shopping centre. The songwriting and instrumentation is quite safe and doesn’t really inspire me. As far as mainstream pop music goes, it’s amazing, but most of these songs are boring and shallow. I wouldn’t complain if I heard this in the background, in fact, I wouldn’t notice.
Starter sterkt. Blir litt mye likt etterhvert.
Skapligt
Mid album barely redeemed by a great voice. Not much here beyond the notes that bookend it and the fact that no one on her camp talked her out of releasing the terrible Lovesong cover points to the hubris on display.
Adele’s voice is very good, it’s just the songs are not for me, and that might be an understatement. This is music for jilted white women. I don’t have anything negative to say about the album, I just couldn’t connect with it. It’s a 3/5 just on the strength of her voice alone.
Wow, she can really sing! Don't like the music much, but she gets a solid three for her voice.
Definitely liked this more than 25. God damn, this girl can sing. And BTW, all of this music came from someone who just learned how to drink alcohol. What the fuck. But, it's still pop. And I still despise it. And listen, maybe if these songs weren't played 6 billion times on the radio and in movies and in reels and in fucking Old Navy, maybe I'd like them more. But actually, maybe not. Because that exact flavor that allows these songs to be so damn popular is what makes them taste so, so bland to me. That being said, I seriously liked a couple here. Particularly the groovier, riskier ones. 3. Best I can do. Fave tracks: - Rumour Has It - Don't You Remember - He Won't Go - I'll Be Waiting - Lovesong
Buen álbum, no soy fan de Adele pero Set fire to the rain (espero se llame así), es una canción bastante adictiva.
Maybe it’s unfair to pigeonhole an artist like this, but I think she should stick to the torch songs. The more uptempo and poppy songs don’t feel natural. The whole thing is a bit awkward, which makes sense in light of her age.
Enjoyable to listen to. Love the hits and the other songs that I heard on the album were either as nice or pleasant bg music. 3 stars for beautiful voice. would listen to a few tracks of this again.
Listen, Adele has a powerhouse voice. I understand and empathize with how a particularly brutal breakup inspired this album. But holy hell is it repetitious. "Rolling in the Deep," "Rumour Has It," and "Someone Like You" are great, but I was so ready for her to sing about something, anything else. The cover of the Cure's "Lovesong" is solid, though.
I don’t like Adele. She feels overdramatic and overhyped. Rolling in The Deep is fine enough though.
I really like that a natural in the choir in the beginning of the chorus. Otherwise the album is okay.
Bravo again.
Ok so another album that’s not actually on the 1001 list - it's on the ex-list. The expunged list. Removed because the author maybe saw the error of his ways and realised that this is not great, it's just overplayed. I’m already bored and I’ve not even put the album on yet. Just looking at the titles makes me think oh no not THAT song again. And there are a lot of them. It's an album my mother would love - because she’s got dementia and doesn’t even remember my name. So all these songs are forever new to her. For the rest of us it's a bit tiresome. But is suppose credit where credit’s due, to churn out an album of quality songs at 21 is impressive. It’s not her fault they were played to death in every shop and on every radio station. Best songs are Turning Tables and I'll Be Waiting. Worst are everything else that's been overplayed. But worst of the worst is a horrible version of The Cure's Love Song.
Heard it before. I think I've heard the big hits from this album too many times and they annoy me just a bit but because of nostalgia I still like the album quite a bit. Definitely Adele's best album 3/5
Great voice, not standard but unique. Suited to ballads. Just not for me.
🍆
Adele has a great singing voice, the production on this album is great, but i feel like the music in this album is the kind of music you would hear in a department store, or in a commercial. This is not to say its bad music. Only that this is what i associate this music with, personally. Kudos to anyone who is moved by Adele's music, and many songs on here are catchy, but I'm not sure if i would return to this album. (Whats 9 + 10 ?)
Good, but not really my thing
Nostalgic, but looking retrospectively not so amusing
Maybe the most that one song has dominated an album. Extraordinary the difference in quality. The other hits are hits. But the rest of the album sounds like an Adele parody (she really does worry about people forgetting who she is). I'll Be Waiting is all a bit uncomfortable lyrically too. Would love to know how much Robert Smith made from this.
2,5
Decent pop, but you've heard it so many times on the radio that it doesn't really spark anything in you any more.
To my ears it has been played to death on the radio and the b-sides are not that different from the many hits on this. Does that make it bad? No. The arrangements and voice are all good, production is fine. I've simply already had my fill of Adele.
I am not a fan of (pure) pop music of the singer/songwriter bent. And this is an easy listen for this type of music. That being said, this is just pop music and is not my preferred listen. I don't won't to bag on it. So, to be fair and not just a bastard about it...3 good stars. I also see that the next one 25(?} is coming up...oh great.
A few great songs but mostly mid songwriting masked/saved by great vocals.
Unsubtle
For an adult contemporary album, a notoriously terrible genre, this one stands out among its peers. Consistent tracklisting with a strong vocal performance throughout, Adele makes this typically mundane and sappy genre impactful. If an album has of quality equal to Rumor Has It, Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain, and Someone Like You than you know it is at lease something special. Beyond that I have a soft spot for the Lovesong, One and Only and Turning Tables. It isn't the greatest album in the world and can sometimes become extremely sappy and drag but overall its a fun time. I recommend it! 2.5/5 (which may seem low but 2.5 is average in my rating system.)
Back in 2011, I was annoyed when I found out that Adele wasn't black. I've had a hard time getting over it, but her voice is amazing. Maybe too many songs on the album.
So depressing, nearly caused me to drive my car off a bridge. On a technical level a good album though.
I mean this is like extremely produced pop music, if this isn't a 3/5 idk what would be. Without a doubt better then 25, was overall better in everyway to that album.
Fantastic
Lots of talent, obviously, but I didn’t really vibe with the songs
Mostly blended together outside of the hits, and the lesser hit "Rumour Has It" actively annoys me in the chorus. The three big hits, though, are huge for a damn good reason.
One of the most inescapable albums of the early 2010s and by far not her best work, this is still a pleasure to listen to. I think it is hurt by its length and overall lack of variety. She really stretches her abilities on the singles, but there are a lot of songs on this album that sound the same.
Been a while since listening to Adele. Listening to this as an adult, I can totally hear the impact this has had.
Adele has an amazing voice and I like her. 3 stars cause it's not really my kind of music but I have a lot of respect for her.
Adele is not Amy Winehouse, who did this same thing better. I don’t think she quite grasps what her strengths are here. The best Adele songs can’t be sung by anyone else, and a lot of these don’t really fit that bill.
I stepped away from this challenge specifically because of this record. I was just not ready for this much of a downer. That said, Adele is incredibly talented, but definitely not something I enjoy listening to. and not because i don't like sad music (elliott smith is the shit), i don't think i could really articulate why. same with modern r&b. just not for me.
Not really my thing but Rolling in the Deep is a banging opener
Going into 21, I’ll admit I wasn’t exactly an Adele fan. I kept an open mind, hoping the critical acclaim might shift my perspective. After giving the album a full listen, I can say… maybe I’ve moved the needle ever so slightly, but not by much. I found this album to be repetitive both in sound and tone. I can not get past her signature belting. Maybe if I listen to it a couple more time, I may begin to appreciate it better.
Quite a good voice, just wish there was a bit less filler and the lyrics were better.
I can be pretty down on pop, but this was a fun album. Adele's mezzo voice is the star, through and through. There's some simple but engaging musicality to the track she's singing over that supplements the vocals and doesn't distract from, but they're fun to focus on anyway. Particularly the hip hop/jazzy percussion on tracks like He Won't Go.
its adele
I like it more than I remember.
In 2011, Adele burst onto the scene with this album and some absolutely killer tracks—many of which would go on to be her most notable songs. My mom at the time was of the mind that if you liked one song, you had to buy the CD it came from (despite iTunes very much being a thing at that point, but I digress). So as a teenager, anytime my mom and I would go anywhere in her car, she’d have this CD ready to go. Now, don’t get me wrong, Adele is a great singer. I wish I could have the musical success she found at 21–heck, I’d settle for 25 at this point! And some of these tracks were big for a reason (Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, Set Fire to the Rain), that reason being they’re phenomenal. THAT BEING SAID, I dreaded this CD coming on when I was a teenager, because aside from those songs + Rumor Has It, I HATED this CD. I found the other tracks to be boring, ESPECIALLY Turning Tables—Someone Like You coming at the end is a great closer, but you have to slog through the most forgettable sad songs in your life to get there. Eventually my mom learned to stop buying full CDs when she picked up a Ce-Lo Green album and we all learned the hard way that the song Forget You was NOT what that song was called on the album…
Okay she is top of the pops 2010s. Lovely voice and the songs sound sort of similar to each other. Never really moved me. The lyrics are more love and loss. Okay.
Great voice but apart from a couple of tracks, all the songs have the same subject. He's left, she misses him and she'll change if he comes back. By the end of the album I wanted to give her a good shake and tell her to get some self respect and stop wallowing
Painful
