An experience to listen to

I really liked it. It was a lot more chilled than most of the stuff that I listen to, which I enjoyed. Pretty grungy sound and the lyrics were hard to decipher, but the melodies were legendary.

Excellent album - takes me back to late night’s programming on a deadline and knowing it was all going to be alright. Thanks Thom Yorke.

perfection

Amazing album with an incredible focus on dynamics and experimentation.

One of my favourites for a long time - In Rainbows never gets old. Radiohead at their most in control. A really accessible album, with warmth and texture throughout. Really love the stripped back guitar sounds paired with the excellent percussion. From the opener, 15 Steps, through the incredible Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, to my all time favourite, Reckoner. I could, and will, listen to this endlessly.

Saw them on this tour in Victoria Park, London - the one and only time I've seen them live. A perfect Radiohead album. Is it their best? Maybe... depends on what day it is and what mood I'm in.

I didn’t get Radiohead’s popularity in the 90s, but I do really like this.

Top shelf.

Its good

One of my favorite albums in the world. No notes.

I love this album. It's one of my favorites so it's hard to listen to objectively, but I think it's musically brilliant and full of yearning, tenderness and depth. My favorite tracks are 15 Step, Nude and Video Tape.

More bias and not because I got it for free when released (I didn't, probably bought for £3 from Fopp). Wafty bleepy Radiohead is much preferred to 90s angst. Forgot how much I loved House of Cards. Feel bad for not giving I Am A Bird Now 5 so I'll 5 this.

Love it. First album that has come up on here that I've already head dozens of times.

15 Step - 8.5/10 Bodysnatchers -8.5 /10 Nude - 8/10 Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi - 8/10 All I Need - 8/10 Faust Arp - 8/10 Reckoner- 8.5/10 House of Cards - 8/10 Jigsaw Falling Into Place - 8/10 Videotape - 8.5/10 TOTAL - 82/100

Tension, anxiety, stress, chaos - Radiohead examines and produces negative affect, it's all disonant chords and disjunctive lead lines, unsettled poly-rhythms, and whatever the opposite of soothing vocals are. At times its too much for the songs themselves to handle and it starts to sound pixelated as they burst the seams. They're holding on the electronic excursions of their last three albums while re-introducing a more direct rock sound, like the Bends-era band playing Krautrock. Lots going on in the production with dense textures establishing each songs ambience and the rhythm section kicking it into gear. So many good sounds: The bass rumble on 15 Step. The reverbed-out guitar lead on Bodysnatchers. The groove on Nude. The low-end synth on All I Need. The chiming riff on Reckoner. The gentle thrumming fuzz of House of Cards. The acceleration/decceleration on Jigsaw...

One of my favorites of all time, 10/10.

I love this album. Can’t listen to it enough. Best listened to from start to finish without stopping.

Good album, enjoyed all of the songs

I like it. Good for rainy weather.

I lived this so much more than the Radiohead I’d listened to before.

It was a surreal experience, and Phil's work was pretty exceptional in some tracks.

I have every note of this record memorized. When this thing dropped, it changed my entire world view on music. I had been a fan of Radiohead before. But this. It blows me away every time I hear it

Love this album. One of their best.

I see a couple of the top reviews saying either every song sounds the same, or they all sound like random noodling. I feel sorry for the ears of these people, clearly they aren't working properly. I don't think there's anything exceptionally experimental or hard to listen to about this album. To me it's just a collection of well-written and perfectly produced songs. Seriously, the sound quality of this album is amazing, every instrument fits right into place, like a jigsaw. It's hard not to be moved by the music on here.

All I Need Weird Fishes / Arpeggi Reckoner

Perfect album

All I Need is a track I hadn't paid enough attention to before - reminds me of Boards of Canada at times. JFIP is another standout. All very strong songs. The perfect blend of mournful and uplifting.

this is the best one straight up it just takes u out of the world and puts u in vast expanses of ocean and space just with music. so fucking good

Favorite Radiohead Album. Possibly my favorite album by any artist. 11/10.

Happy memories of this one, the first Radiohead album release I experienced as a fan. I remember seeing the announcement on Dead Air Space, and while everyone else was losing their shit about the ‘pay what you want’ thing, I was losing my shit over it coming out in just 10 days time. Then, hearing the album, and seeing what they’d changed from the live versions. Backwards intro on Nude! Shouting children on 15 Step! Fuzzy bass on All I Need! Ok, it took me a while to get on board with the studio version of Videotape, but in general it was an exciting time in my teenage, music-loving life. It’s not my favourite album of theirs but I can absolutely understand why it would be for others. It’s probably Radiohead's most accessible (since The Bends at least) and certainly their downright prettiest sounding record. There are a couple of tracks that even veer dangerously close to being ‘happy’ - but not at the expense of interesting arrangements or sounds.

*Rubs hands* I loved Radiohead so much that I've distanced myself from them. Weird? Maybe. They were my favorite band. I idolized them. I just thought that maybe I got too caught up in them. So, other than hearing a song here and there, I haven’t listened to an album of theirs straight through since maybe A Moon Shaped Pool. It will be interesting for me to revisit them from a more neutral perspective, if that's possible. Love this album. It’s gonna be a 4.5 for me. Really kind of mostly gentle and spookily atmospheric. As always, interesting production, with little fleeting soundscapey sounds melting into strings, vocals and who knows what else. The people who don’t like Radiohead, I get. This isn’t dance music, this isn’t singles music, it’s not mood music, although it does evoke a mood. But this stuff is like beautiful art house cinema. Evocative, impressionist, deliberately obscure rather than audience pleasing. It has moments of sublime sad tenderness and fragile beauty that’s just not going to be the reason a lot of people are looking for in music. No shade to them. Thom gets some grief for his obscure lyrics, but they work so well in these contexts. They keep the song eternal. The meaning is in the emotions. Not Absolute Music or Program Music but certainly arguments for both. Who else does Radiohead than Radiohead? But Bodysnatchers is a fucking ripper.

It's incredible how good this album is

Much like bat out of hell and tpab (and ok computer when I get it) I didn’t really need to listen to this album again to know my thoughts on it. In my opinion, this album is the peak of radioheads turn into more a electronic sound that started with kid a. Ok computer feels like a transition between more traditional rock and synthetic/electronic music and this feels like a transition between the electronic sound and the more overtly orchestral vibe of some of the stuff on moon shaped pool. It’s a tight album with no weak points and a great mix of sadder tracks like and more upbeat stuff like jigsaw falling into place and 15 step. Disc two is also really good.

Fantastisk modern skiva. En bra blandning mellan melankoliskt och upbeat. Får en modern Beatles-känsla av vissa låtar. Favoritlåtar: Bodysnatchers 15 Step Nude

Challenging, encompassing, well produced

Positivt overrasket. Dejligt drømmende at lytte til i toget.

Muss ich nichts zu sagen…

Meget vel

headphones really make radiohead albums a transcendent experience. This one is no exception

Perfeito

Radiohead’s best album in my opinion. A true masterpiece from start to finish. Top 3 songs off the album are Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Reckoner, and Jigsaw Falling Into Place.

Yeah, I dig Radiohead

Don't get any big ideas

yummy dummy so yummy so tasty so good - my favorite radiohead album - a vibe - a masterpiece

This is an amazing album and easily one of Radiohead’s best. It’s pretty incredible how they reinvent themselves, creating interesting music and remaining relevant.

Perfect album - everything is just so tight, tracks like Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi, Jigsaw and Videotape truly ascend you like nothing else

Their best album. Flawless

It's the fourth or fifth best Radiohead album. Every other track is a classic (for the record, 15 Step, Nude, All I Need, Reckoner, House of Cards and Videotape). The others range from good to stodgy.

4,5/5 I guess?

i literally love radiohead so much listened to it on vinyl because it makes the experience 8 times better

*gasp. A masterpiece. How the tired, worn out band got back with such a shiny evergreen is unbelievable. Especially when you thought that was it after „Hail to the thief“. Always and forever top 3 with „Kid A“ and of course „OK Computer“.

This album could just be "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" followed by two hours of fart sounds and it would still be a 5/5.

'All I Need' and 'Faust Arp' hinders this from being a perfect 10/10 record, but every single one of the 8 remaining tracks are absolutely perfect and immensely beautiful. In Rainbows really is the kind of album that opens up to you the more you listen to it. It's the perfect next step in the evolution of the band after Hail to the Thief, and it marks the end of an unparalleled 6-album run starting at The Bends. This is the fourth Radiohead album on the list. The fourth 5/5. And that's without OK Computer and Kid A...

Yesterday my review of Hail To the Thief ended with the words: “Bring me more Radiohead soon, please.” Someone listened. Thank you! In Rainbows is easily my favorite Radiohead album and I’ve listened to it a lot (understatement of the year). Today I still learned something new about it. If you ever find yourself walking through a crowded airport, In Rainbows is the perfect soundtrack for making you feel like the main character. Therefore, my tip for the summer: Buy tickets to the cheapest flight possible, arrive early and enjoy your moment!

what a nice time :)

Hail to the Thief not included, everything they made from OK Computer onward is 5 stars to me. Just one big trip. Starts with the Weird Fish song, with its jazzy, nervous atmosphere and ending with the oddly enough romantic&sad at the same time song Videotape. Do understand it if people hate this, like I hated of the 1001 list e.g. TLC and all the other slick R&B music that makes me nervous and makes my stomach turn as if I ate a kilo of rotten fish. Radiohead could make you nervous. But if this type of music is your thing, Radiohead is the real thing.

Personal favorite of their work

Love love love, quickly becoming my most listened to RH album.

Well yeh I like it

5/5 très facile

Je l'avais en cd

PREFS : TOUT MOINS PREF : RIEN

One of the very very best albums ever made.

Buckle up, friends and foes, 'cause we're diving into Radiohead's "In Rainbows" with a head full of thoughts. This album, it's a sonic labyrinth that takes you on an introspective rollercoaster ride. Thom Yorke's ethereal vocals soar through a mesmerizing blend of haunting melodies and intricate production. From the hypnotic groove of "15 Step" to the achingly beautiful "Nude," every track oozes with a sense of existential longing. Radiohead's experimental streak is alive and kicking, pushing boundaries and challenging conventions. "In Rainbows" is a testament to their artistic prowess and willingness to explore uncharted musical territories.

I‘m in love!

In Rainbows is Radioheads best album. It’s so crisp, the drums are scattered and clean. It opens with such a great track in 15 steps and does not miss from there on out. It is 43 minutes and flies by. This may be one of my top 10 favourite albums of all time. 5 stars

Arguably the best Radiohead album period, certainly the best Radiohead album of the 2000s

An easy review. One of the best from one of my favorite bands. It's likely not the best entry point for people interested in Radiohead, but it's undoubtedly the best album of the latter half of their years performing. Here they replace political and social commentary for personal introspection. Not a band song on the album.

Perfection.

I don't know I have mentioned this before, but my list is not limited to one release per artist. If I was self-limiting in that way, I would have an issue here. Radiohead has had an incredible streak of great releases where there is significant change from disc to disc. This is a good balance between their concise songwriting and more experimental side. Listening to it today (notably the strings) it is no surprise that Jonny Greenwood has been so successful as a film composer. All the other members of the band are firing on all cylinders as well. Nude and Reckoner are standouts for me. Few band of the last 20 years reach this high and come close.

This shit is bangin!

One of the best ever

I'd still consider myself relatively new to Radiohead, previously only really knowing the most mainstream tracks and a couple others I found through my own random listening. I've been letting this list introduce me because I figured that a majority of their albums would come up. This is the second Radiohead album the generator has given me so far, the first being Hail to the Thief. I know that they're considered to vary a lot between albums, yet I have to say, any doubts about whether I like Radiohead in general or not are now gone. This was an excellent album which I thoroughly enjoyed all the way through. Quite experimental while being so well produced. Some of the songs slow down a bit but nothing here feels like filler. I'm struggling to put into words everything I like about this album but I think I need more time to write this review, and believe me, I feel like I could write a whole dissertation about this. Simply a beautiful album, and while being generally considered to be one of the more approachable Radiohead albums, I really don't think there's anything out there that's quite like it. I NEED to get this on LP. Favourite: 15 Step

Don’t have to say much here. Easy 5/5, one of my favorite albums of all time. From the opening bouncy percussion in 15 Step to the piano led Videotape, this album is flawless.

Nao eh o meu album favorito deles porque Pablo Honey apareceu antes, mas ta no podio.

https://youtu.be/B2JHChJpG_A

Я просто советую посмотреть From the Basement с этим альбомом

Go Slowly, Last Flowers, 4 Minute Warning - вполне достойные композиции.

Ali love this album. Nothing else really sounds like the first two tracks. ‘Jigsaw Falling Into Place’ is one of, if not my favourite song by Radiohead. I also love ‘Videotape’, that song gets me good.

I’ve got nothing to add. This is probably one of my top 10 albums of all time.

Radiohead is beautiful

Perfection. 10/10 album

The smoothest sexiest progressive rock album of all time? Yes. Make me emote Johnny. Make me feel.

Used to be my favorite artist of all time, still think they're great but listen less often now. Great album though.

⭐ Reckoner

I previously have only heard Weird Fishes, I’m glad to hear the whole album. Very well done, chill music.

Well it's one of my favourite bands and one of their best albums so don't expect me to be objective. Sound Variation. Weird Innovation. Melancholy subject matter. It never gets tired or outdated. Beautiful.

Outstanding

From what I remember, this was the album that challenged the rapidly changing music industry. I bought this digital album, directly from the bands website, for $5. They were the first major band to adopt the “pay what you want” digital distribution method. This is one of my favorite Radiohead albums of all time. It has bangers, dreamers, sleepers, and ear worms. I have listened to this album so many times that I am at a loss for words when it comes to a proper review. It is great. The band is great. Listen to this album loud and often. My favorite song on this album is Bodysnatchers. It gets into my guts and wiggles around. That makes me happy. 5 stars.

Thom you beautiful bastard you’ve done it again

Best of em all. Only "weak" point is Videotape. But the rest is soooo good still gets 5.

Maybe Radiohead's 3rd best album but still really good plus I remember how it was pay what you want to way back in the summer of 2007 which was awesome. Who else could and would attempt such a thing. If I remember correctly we saw them at Alpine Valley that summer too

Brilliant slightly overrated but still a 5 but a low 5 instead of “one of the best albums of all time” as some say.

already know it well

I remember being disappointed when this came out - it was so different from what I was expecting, though I'm sure I could not have articulated what exactly I was expecting. Of course, in the moment I didn't realize that that's basically what Radiohead has always done - reinvent themselves, surprise us, and after a few listens we realize how incredible the music is. This album was no different, and it's hard for me to remember what exactly I was disappointed about. A remarkable group of songs, starting with a four-track run of songs that I consider each to be Radiohead classics (15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes). The innovative "pay what you want" release is a nice side note. It's not their best album but it's better than most bands best album.

Favorite Radiohead album and possibly favorite album of all time. This was the first time I "got" Radiohead. I had heard about it during the release when it was pay-what-you-want and that intrigued me enough to listen. It started me the rabbit hole and went further back into their discography. 15 Step is a drum-banger and Bodysnatchers is a manic guitar-heavy song that is very OK Computer era so if anyone lamented the lack of guitar on previous albums, this ones for you. Nude is absolutely sublime in its sparse arrangement but soaring vocals. Weird Fishes is instant underwater vibes with syncopated guitar parts reminiscent of Let Down from Ok Computer. All I Need continues the chill vibes and I remember it being used for a PSA at one point. Faust Arp is kind of our intermission song, but it's nice all the same. It could totally pass for a solo Thom Yorke song. Reckoner and House of Cards continue the vibes with some interesting drums on Reckoner as well as extremely downtempo guitar on House of Cards. Jigsaw Falling Into Place brings up the energy with an all around solid track, although maybe not my favorite. Videotape caps off the album as Radiohead albums typically do: a sad Thom Yorke performance that could be the swan song of the entire band. More interesting syncopation with the drums and piano. Haunting as expected. Easiest 5* of my life.

My favorite album of theirs

Belter.

2007. Reckoner, Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi, Nude, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Bodysnatchers

Overall really good experience. Will return to a lot of the songs. The slowly building up reverb thing does get a bit repetitive and I disliked the choice of ending songs. I accidentally lost this after I typed it so I'm doing it again and I'm mad 15 step: my old roommate loves this one. Slaps. Love the build up and take away of the track and the vocals interweaving. Also twilight Bodysnatchers: fun one. I was skeptical ag first but the build up paid off. The vibrato guitars and vocalations is the best part. Nude: nice interlude but I couldn't help comparing it to exit music. Also Dean Winchester song Weird fishes/arpeggi: I've never listened to this attentively before but the immersion into the soundscape was amazing with the background vocals and reverb and everything. Arpeggiation made me feel like I was learning piano again though All I need: weakest song. Maybe need to be on shrooms or something Faust arp: if the title is a Dada reference that's cool bc it matches the imagery and the cinematic track Reckoner: dark horse. Had never heard before but I loved this one. Had the same vibe as a blues song but in a heatwave instead of at a campfire after dark. Plus stadium appropriate in how expansive it is. House of cards: loved the transition here to the picked guitar and gentle vocals contrasting with the subject matter. Really captures the moment in a concert when the band goes away and a roadie brings the acoustic out Jigsaw falling into place. Liked how unrelenting and flat of a grunge homage (?) It is. Nice word painting. Did not like this and the next song as the closers especially compared to how evocative and provocative 15 step is as an opener. Maybe trying to close out/resolve things but felt boring to me. Videotape: second weakest. Sorry but it's corny. Mcr did marching band drums + dealing with death better.

this is honestly such a good album to vibe to; i love the guitar, the bass, and the vocals and the really interesting contrasts between them on a ton of the songs. i feel like 15 step really starts things off SO well and it just keeps going. kid a is def my fave radiohead album, but in rainbows is a strong second

this is a 5

Arguably one of the group's greatest albums, that blends both thoughtful lyrics with experimental musicianship. Yourke's voice fines a lovely croon and balance with the spiraling guitars. This is an essential record for all those interested in more modern rock music.

Don't get any big ideas. Probably my favourite, most enduring Radiohead album? The other classics, my opinion is clouded slightly by 90s nostalgia and I was never a Kid A Stan. I've grown to love it over the years but it's not the same. In fact Hail to the Thief brought me back on board after leaving for a while, and In Rainbows re-cemented my love and encouraged me to try Kid A again. So I love those albums. But In Rainbows - well it's retained its freshness somehow. I guess we will see in 10-12 years if I feel its as fresh, but in my memories clearly it's attached to a very different stage in my life than the bends or ok computer. Love every bit of this. That moment in Reckoner, you know the one. Johnny's guitar merging into the backing vocal melody in Jigsaw Falling into Place. The skittish, irrepressible energy of Bodysnatchers. The beauty of Faust Arp. Nude.

I was a little biased going into this one, as an album that I've already loved for years. But it truly is one of the high points in the discography of a creative and innovative band. They continue to push sonic boundaries here, but without sacrificing the beauty or fragility intrinsic in these compositions.

GEWELDIG ALBUM

Every track inspired, interesting, evocative. I love this album. 5*s isn't enough but it's all I'm allowed

Fourth best Radiohead album but still excellent.

Amazing album, first time i get into it, it was a whole vibe listening to it

Bom demais!!

Awesome tones on all the instruments, listenable but strange, ai love how every album sounds so different from the last, they are constantly reinventing themselves. Perfect combo of optimism, despair, and sadness. Amazing songwriting as usual.

Masterpiece

What a beautiful album, a trandescendal experience imo. Also my favourite Radiohead album for sure Favourite tracks: 15 Step, All I Need, Reckoner, Jigsaw Falling Into Pieces

Great lp. Love it

There's plenty from the 2000s whose influence had already vanished by the end of the decade, but the influence of this album will be around for a long, long time

ei sille mitään voi. thom hoilottaa ja itkunpäreet tulee naamalle. muistuttaa muse bändin alku biisejä joista tykkään myös (big fan) kuten eräs viisas sanoi ''Albumia alettiin työstää jo 2005, vuonna jona ensimmäinen versio kirjasta joka mahdollisti tämän nettisivuston synnyn julkaistiin... heh .miten voi olla mahdollista 2007 albumi..... 2005 kirja... classic book.... hehe...''. paremmaksi en voisi tuhannessa vuodessa pistää, joten antakaa tuon muhinoida mielessä... paras biisi on kyllä bodysnatchers

Radiohead are one of the few bands that I feel have actually released better music later into their career, rather than at their beginning. The very edgy and raw sounds of albums like Pablo Honey and The Bends don't really resonate with me all that much, and as much as I can respect OK Computer, it is vastly overrated. However 14 years after releasing their debut record, Radiohead release a true masterpiece with In Rainbows. Maintaining the exact same lineup for their whole career has benefited their artistic chemistry and thus enabled this magnum opus. In Rainbows holds their most ambitious songwriting, their most immaculate production, Thom Yorke's best vocal performances and easily their best rhythm section within their entire discography. Not only that, Radiohead find the ideal balance between visceral and electrifying alt rock alongside gorgeous and soothing instrumentation. There are no two similar sounding songs on this record which allows for each track to flow between each other flawlessly. Tunes like Bodysnatchers and Jigsaw Falling Into Place are high octane full throttle masterpieces, but a whole album of just that sound would get old real fast. Instead, songs like Nude, Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi and Faust Arp offer for more gentle and lush instrumentals that serve as necessary cool down moments. I don't have much criticism for the sound of this record. Really it's only that some songs pale in comparison to the songs I mentioned earlier. House of Cards is a nice idea, but does get a little boring. Reckoner is not one of my favourites. But these "setbacks" don't ruin my enjoyment of this album. From start to finish I am thoroughly amazed and engaged at what Radiohead dish up on In Rainbows. At a tight 42 minutes, the band pulls off an array of musical ideas and risks perfectly. It's probably more like a 4.5, but it gets a 5 from me on here. Magnificent.

Just wonderful songwriting and sonically beautiful. As someone who loved Radiohead pre-Kid A and loved them even more post, this return to a more melodic, straightforward sound was not necessarily what I’d hoped for from them. But, it’s just a brilliant, magnificent album. Grownup songwriting by one of the best ever to do it.

I liked this a loooot, Radiohead consistently puts out bangers.

Good for depression 👍

This is a top contender for my favourite album of all time.

One if favourite albums of the 2000s. On any given day I would change the order of my ranking this, The Bends or OK Computer. I remember when this was announced with the pay what you want scheme. I was a piece of shit and paid $0 for this for the download. Quickly became one of my most played albums, and I eventually bought the physical special edition CD. Bodysnatchers is the standout here for me and I always forget how hard it goes whenever I put on In Rainbows The Reckoner cover by Gnarls Barkley is essential listening.

The production, the instrumentals, vocals - all perfect. No misses, a perfect album.

Historiallinen albumi... albumi mrnneisyydestä...jhehe VOIKO OLLA!!!?? ”In 2007, Radiohead independently released their seventh album, In Rainbows, as a pay-what-you-want download, the first for a major act; the release made headlines worldwide and sparked debate about the implications for the music industry.” mä putoan uniin kauneimpiin hetkiin menneisiin.... PRKELLEVF!!

This is one of Radiohead's best albums. The lyrics are incredibly thoughtful and poke you from the inside, it's so relatable you're instantly drawn to it, the music is sensual but in a very gentle and beautiful way, and obviously, the voice of Thom Yorke never disappoints, adding the edge to the overall sound. It's not possible to get the wrong impression of that album, even when you're not a big fan of that sort of music. Every minute of it is very emotional and almost ethereal in its feeling. It's interesting how the music touches your feelings in a personal way and yet manages to attain an otherworldly and mystical attitude to it. "In Rainbows" is just a solid representation of what art and experimental rock should look like, giving an excellent example of abstraction and realness merged together in music. Favourite track: "All I Need", Least favourite track: None.

Larmes sans S-Bahn

S-Bahn avec larmes

I loved this. Everything about this album is amazing.

Perfectly dreamy.

A surprisingly strong work from Radiohead, given that it feels like the most vocal album. I find I usually don't like their vocals, but something about this combo of soundscape and vocal presentation worked in this case.

*Listened before* The album generator has blessed me today. This was my first Radiohead album, and I picked it because I liked the cover the most out of all their albums lol. Didn’t like it at all on my first listen. Listened to it a few more times and now I love it. It just sounds incredible. So happy to relisten. My hot take is that it’s better than ok computer. Favorites: 15 Steps, Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes, All I Need, Jigsaws Falling Into Place Album Cover: I don’t really like Radioheads covers but this is one of the exceptions, I love it 4/5

After OK computer and Kid A this is Radioheads 3rd masterpiece. This is probably more accessible and enjoyable than Kid A. Much more upbeat almost to the point it’s almost acceptable to play at a party…

When In Rainbows was released it surprised me. I had loved its predecessor “Hail To The Thief.” Its overt politics wore anger on its sleeve and was very cathartic when It came out. In Rainbows gave little of that. I liked it, but in the years since had not returned to this much. I was surprised to see In Rainbows appear here. I started the listen knowing this was a great album. I had not expected that what I would hear today would rival my very favorite albums from Radiohead. I’m in a very different place now than I was in 2007. The world is in a very different place. In Rainbows surfaces in my life and takes on a relevance I didn’t see coming. It goes deep within, exploring some personal, dark, fearsome places. When this came out I wasn’t ready for that. I guess today I am. What a wonderful day.

Radiohead reaches a new zenith, this time with lovey-dovey goo goo eyes. In Rainbows is the best starting point for any newcomer to the band, it's an album that's an exact crossroads of everything that's made Radiohead loved (and sometimes detested) and all applied with surgical precision and overflowing passion. An unabashed 5 star album.

Favourite radiohead. Amazing album from start to finish. Beautiful blend of creativity and excellent ideas. Perfect album.

Just an excuse to listen to one of my top 5 favourite albums!

This is a colorful bunch of songs and my favorite thing the band has to offer.

I guess I’m a Radiohead fan now.

Truly iconic album. Probably the "prettiest" Radiohead album and my second favorite behind Kid A. The PWYW structure was also groundbreaking and influential.

To be brief. They are a brilliant inventive band that write amazing music. This is their greatest album. This is a five.

Quality album

05/09/2022 Radiohead – In Rainbows 5/5 Radiohead is one of my favourite groups, and I’m not going to say that I’m biased in this review because I also think that they are the best of the best out there right now. My favourite album of theirs is Kid A, so I’m a fan of this “second era”, much more electronic and less rock. In Rainbows take a step back into the experimentation and builds its music around a more solid ground but maintaining their quality. If I have to introduce someone to Radiohead, I would probably recommend this album (or The Bends). Production is fantastic, instrumentation is amazing, the melodies are really captivating, and the lyrics are at their peak. Favourite tracks – • 15 steps: great introduction in the album with highly distorted drums and a very good guitar riff, both building the song around them. • Bodysnatchers: the energy of all the album is concentrated and freed in this song. • Nude: I love Radiohead ballads, and this one is no exception. Yorke vocals on this track are hypnotizing, and the vocal arrangements are the end are very emotive. • Weir Fishes/ Arpeggi: Who doesn’t like this song? Another one build around fantastic drums and a guitar riff. • All I Need: My favourite from the album. Again, in love with Radiohead slow songs, and if they have that apotheosis end, the better. • Faust Arp: the melody, guitar arpeggios and string arrangements of this song give me goosebumps. • Reckoner: how difficult is to build an album on such simple instrumentalization (again, a great guitar riff and great percussion) and make it so complex at the same time? It’s perfect. • Videotape: every time I listen to this song I remember the live video of Radiohead trying to play this song, and failing the syncopation because of the audience clapping. Apart from that, perfect.

When I was younger, I would hear a Radiohead song here and there, but I wouldn't say I was super familiar with them. However, I recently listened to their entire discography and was blown away. I love the soundscapes so so much. Every time I listen to Radiohead (at least most of their songs) I feel like I discover something new to enjoy. This album is excellent.

Masterpiece

Painful. Beautiful.

I remember when this came out in 2007, and the innovational pay what you want concept, and yet at the time the album passed me by. Shame, because it is a banger - Radiohead at their most polished, a much more mature angst than that of their 90s offerings, almost cinematic in its delivery. Outstanding.

Fusing the best of Radiohead's previous albums, this has a bit of everything and all done well. Experimenting with their sound, they found a great balance on this album. Favourite tracks: Nude, All I Need, Reckoner, Jigsaw Falling Into Place

One of my favorite albums of all time.

You were all I neeedddd

10/10 I love their older stuff but I’m so glad they moved in this direction OK Computer is great but Kid A moved the band into a sound I enjoy a lot more

Finally understood this album after a day of playing it. Think I needed to do some growing up first.

Art music of the highest order, both powerfully beautiful and beautifully powerful, and perhaps the apotheosis of their yearslong shift from mere rock band to sonic artists, authentic cultural expression and rich commentary on time and the world. Ambient and affecting and ambitious Interesting and intense. On and on (and on...) one could go – haunting and harrowing, intense and intelligent, etc., etc.

One of my favourite Radiohead albums for sure. The vibe is exquisite, lots of lush textures and harmonies. Weird Fishes is my highlight

The best Radiohead album ever, fight me.

Great album. Remember when this came out as a "pay what you want" album. Got it on release but don't think I have the original files anywhere!

i don't think there's a single bad song in this album. usually in one to think radiohead is just quite depressing and that's it but giving it a proper listen ive really appreciated the different complex techniques and components in the music that not many people would think to use. very nice i really enjoyed :) 5/5

marmite and i love it

One of the best albums ever written. An orgasmic arrangement of pure cum. every song is amazing. lyrics fantastic. vocals fantastic. music fantastic. cum. 11/10

What I would consider the best Radiohead album - the perfect mix of their pioneering synths against the rock basis that brought them to prominence, a juxtaposition mirroring how major-key this album sounds while being depressing as hell lyrically. My only complaint is that the tempo is generally lower than desired, especially since high-energy favorites '15 Step' and 'Bodysnatchers' frontload the album (check out the 2006 Bonnaroo version of 'Videotape' to hear what could've been). Downtempo tracks like 'Nude,' 'Arpeggi,' and the absolutely haunting 'Reckoner' are hardly consolation prizes, however, and the overall feel of sugar-coated, media-driven breakdown is perhaps the most intoxicating thing the band has made. Also worth noting that this is the last true 'rock' album Radiohead has made - TKOL/AMSP find Yorke and co. exploring deeply rhythmic and synth-based tracks, so the prominent, driving guitar here represents some of the last we may hear from the band (unless LP10 arrives to prove me wrong).

This is one of my favorite albums of all time, no way to be objective. I still remember being in my freshman year of college hearing the announcement that they were releasing a new album in 10 days, for whatever price you wanted to pay. I can’t remember if I paid $0 just for the memory, but I eventually bought a CD copy. Aside from the unique (at the time) release strategy, this album kicks balls and slaps titties. Each song is unique in style and sound, but they work amazingly well together on the album.

You can take the whiteboy out of the Radiohead, but you can’t take the Radiohead out of the whiteboy: 2

Oh yeah So many of the songs are so beautiful in their arrangements and harmonies, but as a whole I'm particularly drawn to how they use rhythm across this. Nude and Weird Fishes remain favorites but the energies of bodysnatchers and Jigsaw are revealing themselves to be similarly impressive achievements. Incredibly stacked top to bottom, wonderful time. Check my Kid A review to see which I like more. Solid 5

A known classic, probably Radiohead's strongest album and one I love to immerse myself in.

This is my favorite album of all time. Hands down. In a time when the music industry was constantly scrambling over digital music piracy and how to get a handle on things, Radiohead self-released an album on their website with a pay-what-you-want format. The price tag basically said "free". It was huge, considering this isn't some up-and-coming indie band. This is Radiohead, for god's sake. And it was a damn good album. In Rainbows gives you two tracks to set the tone: 15 Step to move through smooth syncopated beats while the rest of the band rides a sonic wave of grooves. Then, blasting onto the scene is Bodysnatchers, a fast-paced distortion-filled barn-burner that is worth the price of admission alone. But it plays a bigger part in the tracklist of In Rainbows as we move from this crazy beast of a song to the rest of the album. From here, the album begins to slow down and appreciate it's own beauty, showcasing the sonic depth and maturity of Radiohead's songwriting and production. Everything sounds lush and purposeful. Not a second is wasted on this runtime. I tend to lump the middle of this album together mentally as Nude through to House of Cards all have a similar atmosphere. Normally I would consider this a bad thing, but each song is still able to deliver a distinct personality that it doesn't feel too same-y. Consistency without boredom. This brings us into the last two tracks, where things start to pick up again. Jigsaw Falling Into Place is an energetic song that that builds spectacularly. This is tied for my favorite song on the album with Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, which is a beautifully sweeping track in it's own right. Our closing song is Videotape, which is a solemn song that utilizes the odd timing and loops to disorient the listener. It's an incredibly powerful end to an album that still manages to wow me to this day. While most people did not bother to pay for the download, Radiohead still made excellent money off of this album. It was proof that people will still want to buy music if the product is worth it's salt (and if you have enough dedicated fans). When the album hit retail shelves, it debuted at #1 on the UK albums chart. Truly, In Rainbows is a testament to excellent craftsmanship and defying industry standards. What a record.

Entrancing

Wow, I was pretty impressed by this record. I own it, never really listened until now, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The band’s use of different instrumentation, key changes, time signatures, etc. just awakened my creativity. It was refreshing to hear an album not bound by the tropes of popular music, but instead a showcase of the creative output a talented band could have with no strings attached to their work. Production value was top notch, along with the song structures. The only gripe I have with this is Thom’s voice, particularly the falsetto singing, can get a little annoying if it’s every song, but I can look past that to the songs in general and they are all terrific. 5/5

Loved it!

I've not listened to RadioHead much over the years, except what I heard on indie radio or on compilations I picked up. I assumed that this late-vintage album was chosen because of it's much discussed pay-what-you-can distribution model and maybe not the music. Musically it stood the first test: I listened to it while getting groceries and each song caught my attention. They mix up the styles, bringing in electronics, distorted guitars, strings or hand-claps as needed, resulting in a sound that stays fresh song after song. I was debating a 4 or 5, but it sounded better on the third listen so…

This was my first album on the 1001 albums, before I joined a group so its come back around. It was 5* then, it's 5* now.

Wow, what a great album. These songs have a warmth to them that I don't typically associate with Radiohead. Nice to see this side of the band. Fave Songs (All songs, in order from most to least favorite): Jigsaw Falling into Place, Reckoner, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, All I Need, Videotape, Nude, House of Cards, Faust Arp, 15 Step, Bodysnatchers

One of my favourite albums of all time

Amazing atmosphere. Weird fishes has to be one of the best songs I've heard. In Rainbows is a must listen.

not ashamed to say that this is my favorite radiohead album.

I've been sleeping on this album. I never gave the full album its due attention. I was grabbed immediately by Reckoner, which I love and thought the songs before it were only OK, but all 6 songs that preceed Reckoner are each amazing in their own right. In Rainbows is one of Radiohead's finest albums right there with The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A. 4.75 🌟

Great album - the last album of Radiohead that I am familiar with - I was a bit surprised to see this on one the list ..but now after re-listening it again I notice how good it is. I will probably check out the two follow-up albums as well now.

Not shite

its just such an accomplished album. they started the swerve away from being a guitar band with the kid amnesiac duo and then came a bit more back to the guitar band thing for Hail to the thief but they got the balance just right with this one. fundamentally a guitar band but with all the electronic enhancement. Arty music that doesn't sacrifice listenability in the name of art and the production of this album is phenomenal, every element is crisp and distinguishable without it detracting from the song as a whole. best listened to with headphones, as are most radiohead albums. at the time of writing this is my favourite radiohead album. but then that probably changes all the time.

Bungle was my favourite

Big. Bigger than SHACK on his tiptoes with his hands in the air.

Mesmerizing

It's Radiohead. You need to listen and listen again. There is lots going on - this is a band who had already done it all and had nothing to prove - so they did things differently.

It’s rare for a band to have an album that’s a genre defining masterpiece that’s easily the best album of the year it was released. Radiohead has three albums that fit that category and 3 or 4 more that come pretty damn close to hitting that mark. In Rainbows is one of those masterpieces. It’s amazing how this album is one of their most accessible and “pop rock” friendly while also not losing any of the weirdness, experimentation, and anxiety-inducing darkness that defined their early-00’s work. This album is so good that it’s almost become a footnote that it also completely changed the game on how we buy music. Also, the bonus disc is incredible too.

I adore the experimental nature of Radioheads earlier albums Kid A and Amnesiac, but their sound was quite a departure from Radiohead's more rock oriented music. Hail to the Thief - In Rainbows predecessor - was a mixture of both styles, but didn't manage to hold my attention throughout its runtime and probably contained too much filler material. And then came In Rainbows. This is a return to form for the band. Its sound is less gloomy, at times very laid-back, even relaxed!!! There is not one bad song on this album. Standouts: 15 Step, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Bodysnatchers, Reckoner. I love it. 5/5

Amazing.

OBRA PRIMA

Probably my favorite album by one of my favorite bands. Absolutely classic. 5/5

PSA, right off the bat, friends: I would not recommend this LP to anyone struggling mightily with depression, most definitely including thoughts of suicide. The title, 'In Rainbows,' suggests a colorfully optimistic experience. But, it ain’t. One reviewer describes Radiohead as: ‘pre-eminent doomsayers with an evergreen grimness…’ and this particular LP as ‘not the kind of thing one would play at a pool party.’ I would, however, recommend this LP highly and, if possible, while high. If not, then we’re looking for some kind of mood alteration on the down side. This is not crystal meth Motorhead time. Alcohol, perhaps? Its tricky, being both a depressant and a stimulant. As long as you’re more of a happy, docile drunk, then a few drinks might also aim you in the right direction. Right, with that taken care of… This is an LP of endings. The ending of relationships, of hope, the end of life, the end of all created life. Lyricist and vocalist Thom Yorke- alternating between moments of sheer soaring to stumbling, weary whispers- is a tortured and tattered dude, possessed by a longing for love while never being able to find it, or hang onto it when it is. I hope his therapist is steering the guided introspection towards what Thom might be bringing into these dysfunctional relationships: What are you attracting, Thom, by your past conditioning and habitual behaviors exacerbated by presumptuous misperceptions, all grounded in some childhood trauma that was left untreated? I mean, bless his heart: ‘I am all the days that you choose to ignore (‘Videotape’).’ Terrible self-esteem, this one. ‘Course, you’re also not going to get a lot of second dates with lines like this one, from ‘Bodysnatchers’: ‘I have no idea what you’re talking about. Your mouth moves only with someone’s hand up your ass.’ (Sounds like some apocryphal verse omitted from Bob Dylan’s relationship-gone-terribly-wrong-song, 'Idiot Wind.') Track four, ‘Weird Fishes,’ just speaks volumes: ‘Turn me on to phantoms. I’ll follow to the edge of the earth and fall off. Yeah, everybody leaves if they get the chance. And this is my chance. I get eaten by the worms and weird fishes. Picked over by the worms and weird fishes. I’ll hit the bottom… and escape.’ Musically, of course, Radiohead is magnificent, as always. Wonderful sense of dynamics, with the songs taking time to develop and often building to a crescendo. Not a lot of rock bands are hip to this. There are some other prog rock characteristics, interesting time signatures popping up here and there, for example, but I wouldn’t really call it prog. It’s a far piece from ELP. Radiohead, in their own way, is loose and groovy, like the Stones in their heyday (not the sound, necessarily, but the feel), but also with a very post-modern edge and vibe, including techniques like scratching, along with generous amounts of wonderful, dissonant synth and guitar shit (that Sonic Youthy sound is a sure way to this listener’s heart); or ‘Videotape’s final moments of that surprisingly splendid bit of percussion oddity. (As an aside, what rock band do you know that can insert a song like ‘Nude’ into an LP, and it works?) Echos on the volcals are employed with just the right amount of restraint, only enhancing the experience and understanding of Thom’s natural voice, and giving the whole thing an ethereal quality. I know that’s an overused adjective, but I can’t think of a better one. ‘Weird Fishes,’ for example, sounds underwatery! -only to then suddenly surface with a funky-ass drone (I’ve never seen those two paired together either) concluding the last two minutes. 'In Rainbows' is chocked full of these kinds of moments, sometimes the golden nugget being the entire song: ‘Faust Arp’ sounds like ‘Eleanor Rigby’ for Generation X. Perhaps following all this self-loathing and bitter rejection from others, and lord knows what other psychic damage done to this poor chap, there might still be hope, even while temporarily remaining disoriented: ‘You’ve got a light. You can feel it on your back.’ Prevenient grace? And then, finally, ‘Videotape’ in its entirety: ‘When I’m at the pearly gates this’ll be on my videotape. Mephistopheles is just beneath and he’s reaching up to grab me. This is one for the good days. And I have it all here: In red, blue, green. You are my center when I spin away out of control on videotape. This is my way of saying goodbye. ‘Cause I can’t do it face to face. I’m talking to you before. No matter what happens now you shouldn’t be afraid. Because I know today has been the most perfect day I’ve ever seen.’ Suicide note? Or, perhaps a more positive surrender, one born not from silent, bitter resignation or simmering anger, or despair, but a letting go of a preoccupation with getting so as to be able to better receive what is being given instead. In…THE... Rainbow.

Unique and memorable!

Played this the other day not knowing it was coming up on the list. A long time favourite. Lush, complex, playful, filled with emotion and beauty. I love this album with the whole of my heart.

What an album. Radiohead produce music that is like no one else. It is contemporary and challenging. They push every boundary. But ultimately rewards repeated listening. Cover art 5/5

What can I say but that this is a brilliant album. I may e biased because I am a big fan of Radiohead but, from a musical appreciation standpoint, this album has no faults. It is written perfectly including only the best songs to make a concise and more polished album. The lyrics combined with the instrumentals is a beautiful thing to hear.

Masterpiece!

There are albums that are personally catchy yet shallow. There are albums that are profound but personally boring. There are albums that are both meaningful and groovy. And of course, there are albums that just don't care about concrete meanings or hooks but will give you an out-of-body experience to the fifth dimension of the universe, or something like that. ...guess which one is my fave.

One of the THE best rock/alt albums ever made, besides my mixed feelings on the song Faust Arp this is nothing but slaps and bangers front to back. Essential listen for any music fan

I don't need to listen to this one to know it's the best album on this list. But I sure as hell will.

Masterpiece

👍👍👍👍

I remember discovering Radiohead through this album on my Dad's iPod when I was 10. I kind of liked House of Cards, the rest was meh. Returning to this at 23 with better headphones and it's an absolute masterpiece. Saved every single song.

I'm not sure what to say that hasn't already been said. Personally, this was my introduction to Radiohead, as I was intrigued by the pay-what-you-want model they were offering. It's a gorgeous album with tight performances, especially on the layered "Videotape". Favorite tracks: "15 Step", "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi", "Videotape", "Jigsaw Falling Into Place"

Best Radiohead album. Perfect balance of rock and jazz. Gets away from the the Thom Yorke techno. Balanced. Emotional. Beautiful.

Das hat mich irgendwie mitgenommen UFF

One of my favorite Radiohead albums, has grown on me.

It’s Radiohead.

Good, slightly manic but enjoyable music. Quite light really, but a bit much to mark exams to.

A modern classic… and they gave it away free before that was a thing!! It’s the Midas touch!

Stupendous!

Probably their best one. Easy to forget the pay what you want release was a big deal at the time. Not just good songs, but a collection that stands as a whole, all working towards a mood. Some just amazing highs - the whole thing is incredible. The most connection I could have to songs.

Pretty sure this is my favorite Radiohead album? Which is pretty impressive given how good literally every Radiohead album is.

7th Radiohead album. It was self-released on 10 October 2007 as a pay-what-you-want download, later also physically released. The pay-what-you-want release, the first for a major act, made headlines internationally and sparked debate about implications for the music industry; some praised Radiohead for challenging old models and finding new ways to connect with fans, while others felt it set a dangerous precedent at the expense of less successful artists. I like the sound of this album! Will definitely buy a vinyl!

My first Radiohead on here, I have to rate it a 5 just on principle alone. I still have fond memories of waking up to the surprise album and instantly buying, trying to figure out LBs to CAD conversion to pay the right amount for it, worth every penny!

Perfection

Weird Fishes uses a very similar chord progression to Kelly Lee Owens (arpeggi)

I forget just how good Radiohead is sometimes...

Hermoso! Una belleza!

WOW: delicious.

Radiohead. Groß.

This album would be notable alone for the manner in which it was released. However, it also happens to be one of Radiohead's best and by extension, one of the best albums period. Radiohead are masters of crafting songs that ebb and flow in the most arresting ways. In Rainbows never feels rushed. It takes its time to simmer to properly develop its songs and itself as a whole. Radiohead is one of those bands where every single member is absolutely indispensable and contributes greatly to everything they do as a whole.

My favourite album for several years growing up, I've listened to it a lot. It was a real return to form for them, their best since Kid A imo. The tracks are pretty much all great but my favourites are 15 step/bodysnatchers/jigsaw

purrrrrfect

i love you

Really magical. A beautiful musical adventure.

Fantastic album and might be the best one from Radiohead. One of my first vinyl purchases. Some excellent songs on here including Reckoner, Weird Fishes, Nude. I remember hearing it for the first time in my best friends basement when we downloaded it from their website for free (which has served as a game changer).

i've knwon this one for a long time, fucking amazing

ah yeah

This is an excellent album. Glad to see it on the list.

Love radiohead

I think this must be my favorite Radiohead album. The whole thing works and flows beautifully, and it has my two favorite songs ("Bodysnatchers" and "Reckoner") - plus "Videotape" is such an amazing and haunting song to end on.

Great album - i have really enjoyed listening to the evolution of this band since 1994.

I don't know why I've never listened to much radio head. Maybe ok computer was a bit slow and electronic for me. Damn this was a good album, excellent from start to finish. A rare 5 stars

This blew my mind

Ethereal fractured seduction

Perfection.

Obok Kid A moje ulubione Radioheady

Radio head fuck yeah

Rock perfection. Not a single moment on this album that doesn't hit just right.

Top 5 pf all time.

Incredible album. Haunting vocals.

Another masterpiece from Radiohead. Wonderful album

Love almost all the tracks on this album. It's beautiful, melodic, cohesive and a bit dancey.

There's just something about this album. I absolutely loved it. Probably my favourite so far.

Radiohead ben je voor of tegen. Voor mij is dit album een topper!

Amazing album

What can I say, one of my fav albums ever

ah yes, very good

Phenomenal imo

Really beautiful album. i wish it had a little more drive/energy at parts, but it's otherwise fantastic and the production is nice. I’ll definitely come back to this. 9/10

Top 3 Radiohead album and there's tough competition.

Great album. Not one skibbable track favourites 2,3,5,7,9

GREAT ALBUM

Great album, love their distinct style.

Muy bien

muy bueno

Beautiful, concise, coherent. Classic Radiohead. I don't know this as well as albums 2-6, but it still sounded like coming home to an old friend, like the musical concepts from all the previous albums came together in this one.

Amazing. Top 2 or 3 Radiohead album. 9-10/10 1. 15 Step 2. Reckoner 3. All I Need

Pretty good

A personal favorite, easily one of my most-listened to albums

15 Steps Reckoner Jigsaw Falling Into Place

i really like it, the sounds and the lyrics!

Liked. Cool and melancholy vibes. One of my first times listening to a Radiohead album all the way through. I like it but I think it will hit better when I'm more familiar with the songs and the mood is right (which is just how music is for me a lot of the time). That is to say: I appreciate it but I know I'll appreciated it more after multiple listens on rainy nights. Can't say for sure which song was my favorite, because I know House of Cards better than the rest so there's a bias there.

7.3.26 ahhhh, finally an album i already love. really a stellar work (and probably my favorite radiohead album?). bodysnatchers is one of my alllllll-time favorite songs + the riffs on weird fishes / arpeggi are unreal. incredible atmosphere and sound. really do love this one. Favorite Song: Bodysnatchers Rating: 4.5/5

Beautiful album, although tbh I listened to it in the wrong headspace and I think it’s sent me into crisis. 4.0/5.0 Best Song: Weird Fishes

Like it

emotional, atmospheric, moody. british. whoever said it sounds like the same song the whole album was onto something. not complaining though, would listen again.

Really lovely. I'd never heard this before

I LOVE Radiohead. Everything I love about music they do or have done and usually they find a way to mix it all together in some crazy way. The thoughtful arrangements that aren't quite standard in popular music but also aren't so far out in the field that it isn't accessible is something that always draws me back. That being said... you don't need damn near their entire discography on a list like this. There is no reason to have 6 albums by Radiohead, 9 by David Bowie and for damn sure there is no reason to have 126 albums by Nick fucking Cave. Solid 4 star album, btw.

A good album for a warm and tiring walk. Favourite track: Jigsaw Falling Into Place

I might get stoned by Radiohead fans for this but this is not one of my favorite Radiohead records. There are maybe 4 or 5 solid songs on this record and the rest seem experimental and less emotional to me. I got this record for a small price when Radiohead was selling directly to download. I lost the download many years ago but still listen to songs from this record, from time to time, on a streaming service or another. Also, I have been a fan of Radiohead since The Bends and saw them live on that tour and many times after, so I feel I am eligible enough to critique a bit. They are perhaps my favorite music act.

-> Radiohead through my years -> Thom Yorke's voice work -> The Smile -> Pop music vs Radiohead When I was a teenager working shifts in the supermarket, one of my older colleagues and me were discussing music. Back then, I was listening a lot to Coldplay, and asked for his opinion (this must have been around the Mylo Xyloto phase). He said it was fine, but he liked Radiohead better. That was the first time someone mentioned Radiohead to me. And this was before Instagram and Spotify. I still am a fan of Radiohead. In 2022 I got to see The Smile live, giving me a taste of what Radiohead is like playing live. Thom Yorke's voice is absolutely mesmerising. I think that's what keeps amazing me listening to In Rainbows: the contrast between gentle parts where his voice gets the space to be, and the absolute shredding of the guitars in the next song. My favorite tracks are Bodysnatchers and Jigsaw Falling Into Place.

Probably my favorite Radiohead album. Love love love the opening track. Great way to kick it off. I remember when they released it with the "pay what you want" deal. I just got a new iPod, and the music sounded like "the future." Not a big Radiohead guy overall, but this is an undeniably great album.

I certainly listened to this a lot in 2007. I still think it's a pretty good Radiohead album. In my middle aged anhedonia the one feature that started to grate on me was pretty heavy on sections where Thom Yorke's falsetto is front and center. 'All I Need' and 'Reckoner' are my favorite tracks on here and I think they are definitely timeless classic songs. The others I enjoy but they aren't absolutely essential listening to me.

So beautiful. House of Cards and Weird Fishes are standouts. Doesn’t reach kid a or ok computer, but close

Honestly might be the only Radiohead album that isn't overrated
