Reviews (page 8 of 15)

Some really beautiful songs but it needed me to be in a particular headspace to really enjoy it. When I could get into it I really liked it and then I’d try to listen at other times and just couldn’t get into it. I would definitely listen again when in the right mood though, I do think the songs are lovely. Fav song: Nude Least fav: Videotape

This album is something of a slow build, but once it gets going it's really great. It's historically been my favorite of the Radiohead albums, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. I still really enjoy it, though.

There are better radiohead albums. This one lacks something but still has all the qualities you expect. Excellent lyrically, a great narrative throughout and some superb music.

What a nice vibe! This is a universally great album. It is just great music, mixed and arranged extremely well. This is being added to the rotation asap.

The first 3 tracks go crazy. This entire record felt like an out-of-body experience. Favourite Track(s): 15 Step, Nude, Bodysnachers Least Favourite Track(s): Reckoner

close to a masterpiece but doesn't quite touch Kid A which is their best album. my love of Radiohead can't be understated or diminished. their music has gotten me through some pretty terrible situations and In Rainbows is what started it all for me bc I could download the album for free

-----------------------------------------

Classic Radiohead!

it's alright a bit slow and nothing really stood out to me

Hell yeah

Pleasant background album, that I don't remember details of.

This is a band that people seem to either love or hate. I've always kinda liked them, but never rabidly. The only album of theirs I truly love is OK Computer, and the rest I've either had on in the background or never really listened to. This is one that I was certainly aware of (how could you not be when it was being offered for free), but never heard. When it started playing this morning I initially didn't really care for it. I was thinking how the haters might be on to something. As the album progressed I was thinking how much I really liked (and even loved) it musically. By the last few songs I was totally digging it, and understanding more the lovers than the detractors. There are not standout songs for me, but this is very much a vibe album, which led to me really enjoying the overall experience. While I don't fall in either camp, for this record I am assuredly on the "I liked it a lot" side.

4/5 good

I thought this was noise when it came out, but I get it now. Call it growth or whatever.

2000s alternative electronica. Quite hard rock.

"I'm not sure if Thom Yorke spends this entire album incessantly whining... but one distracted listen later it seems likely. I can't bring myself to find out.", was what I thought after my first listen. Now a couple listens later I was prepared to write, "I think I'm starting to get the Radiohead hype. I don't have any idea what these songs are about but this is a masterclass in Thom Yorke using his voice to create compelling atmospheres." So I must acknowledge that perhaps this whole project is just a Rorschach Test for my moods. Maybe Taylor is wrong and sometimes haters aren't gunna hate.

On fine form…

Bangers

First listen… perfectly acceptable. Second listen…I liked it more. Third… even more. It’s a grower. I don’t think I would be prepared to give a lot of albums the time I’ve given this one if I hadn’t seen, and liked, their Glastonbury headline sets on TV.

That being said, Thom Yorke is just rung below Chris Martin on the ladder of rock stars you’d want to slap. If their heads hadn't disappeared up their own backsides.
 Still a 4 though

To jeden z ważniejszych zespołów ostatnich lat. 8/10

The vaunted Radiohead. I had their first album and then fell off after that. So, this was a first listen. They’re quite good at atmospheric rock. I of course love the electronic elements. It’s very good, a 4. I’m not stunned though.

This album gets better with time - I used to find Radiohead whiny pretentious bitches, still find Radiohead pretentious. . . but less whiny . . . enjoyed the album in it's entirety far more than the sum of the parts.

lush and intimate recording, but also claustrophobic at times - not in a bad way

Never listened to them back in the day despite mid 2000s indie being my jam. Takes me back.

I find it hard to understand what Thom is saying. It often washes over me. It's a stylistic choice and I'm not reading lyrics to understand what someone is saying. Never been a die-hard Radiohead fanboy but I definitely appreciate the artistry. 4/5. Side note: I loved the pay what you like concept. This was before Spotify took over and let's face it, in 2007 the majority of people my age were using torrents etc. to access music. To put this endeavour into context. This is album 132. If I was to pay for all of those back in 2007 at 20 a pop I'd be down 2640. Now I pay my monthly fee to Spotify and in my eyes we have the democratisation of music.

Just like I remember it.

Really high quality British Jazz. An example of their genius can be explained by listening to JIGSAW FALLING INTO PLACE.

I like this, but I can’t pin down why.

I didn’t listen to this much when it came out because it was like “oooh how exciting, another really good Radiohead album.” Luckily for me that means I now have a really good “new” Radiohead album!

relies a little too much on the sleepy and sad guitar tracks to be a favorite of mine, but this is canonical for a reason! 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Videotape, and Weird Fishes are all among the best and most memorable songs Radiohead has ever made deserves to be one of the 1001? yeah! even if the music weren't as beloved as it is, the pay-what-you-want system being popularized by this would be reason enough

Each song is strong enough to stand on its own, but together they're greater than the sum of their parts.

The Twilight soundtrack really was good huh

I enjoy Radiohead, but I don't think I’ve ever listened to more than a few of their albums. This one is spectacular. Well, actually two: In Rainbows and In Rainbows Disk 2. It was so good that I added the second to my list, but it finished too quickly. Jigsaw Falling Into Place is my favorite!

Great album, not my favorite by this band but still pretty alright.

I love Radiohead. This isn’t my favorite album of theirs but they just have a great sound overall.

Day 27 Beautiful album, never gets old. 8/10 Highlights Bodysnatchers All I need Reckoner

Beautiful album. Can't give it a 5 stars as for me it sits below The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A in Radiohead albums - but still solid. Weird Fishes always stands out most for me. 8/10

I like the more solemn songs. Nude was the first song that grabbed my attention. Its a good album, with a few really good songs in the middle. I took a while to captivate me though. Its not Ok computer or the bends...but it still gets a 4 Second listen: Bodysnatchers needs to get added to the list. It did not grab me the first time, but definitely did second time around. Same goes for Reckoner and House of Cards. Honestly, this album is full of great songs. Very Very close to a 5

I really enjoyed the entire vibe. Super chill no skips

love it, Radiohead will always be recognizable. Hadn't seen the anime music video, was cool!

Radiohead is always a pleasure to listen to, mood pending. Many people say that In Rainbows is their best album. I think that’s debatable but I get why people would believe that. Kid A was experimental. OK Computer was a change of direction from ‘90s grunge-alt. In Rainbows was a demonstration of Radiohead comfortable in their new sound. This album does offer a variety of different sounds and moods. Bodysnatchers is still an upbeat, powerful rocker, reminiscent of the early days with Pablo Honey. It is immediately followed up with the song Nude, which feels like it could’ve easily been on Amnesiac. I think one of my favorite song on here is Weird Fishes because it kind of combines both the moods of fast paced and angelically melodic simultaneously. In total, this is a great album. I just don’t know if it’s the best. But the debate sure is fun!

Random thoughts: * I've said this one of the best Radiohead albums. However, upon this listen it had me questioning my Radiohead album rankings. This was a more dour listen than I remember. I know Radiohead isn't the most uplifting but it was bringing me down. * There are still tracks on here that are all time favorites. House of Cards is still my all time favorite. * Today this is a 4-star album that might move to a 5-star album on future listens. * Something was just off when listening to it this week.

First time listening to this. What a great album. Really enjoyed this.

This album was revolutionary in the earlyish days of the internet and the struggle artists have with the balance of physical and digital media and how it combats piracy. In the wake of the Napster outcry that artists had with people pirating music, Radiohead releases a digital album with the option for fans to pay what they want for it. People still pirated it, but many people also still bought the physical albums. This argument continues to this day with consumers and artists. Consumers still want to own media and support artists; but digital options mean both that you don't actually own what you buy AND does not do a great job in supporting artists in the least. We're still trying to figure it out, but in 2007 Radiohead at least attempted a new approach. That said, they could have released a complete dud with this pay-what-you-want format, but they didn't. The album is this great experimental, euphoric rock album that kind of takes you to a new world. I don't even care what they're saying, I just like being entranced by their sound. Like the music or not, the album and method used to distribute it was revolutionary in it's own right and the fact that it was a great album musically makes it an important one. There's also a Disk 2 that has been released which is.......straying a bit further from "rock" and is a bit too experimental for my tastes.

Barasta mjög næs plata. Hlustaði ekki mikið á þá, en hef rennt margoft núna.

This is the first album ( I think) I’ve actually heard before and it did not disappoint. I gave it a 7.7 the first time I heard it ages ago being one of the weakest Radiohead albums. But today I’ve enjoyed a lot more finding new songs I love like Reckoner. Ofc there are classics like All I Need and Weird Fishes both being 10/10. There were some mid ass songs like 15 steps and bodysnatcher both I didn’t rly enjoy. It still isn’t one of my favourite Radiohead albums but it was still a rly great album so I’m giving it a 8.5/10 4.2/5

Nostalgia album here

One of the greatest albums of all time

Only knew a handful of Radiohead songs prior to this. Lots of jazzy drums. Would be nice background music for sure

Weird Fishes so juice

Very good Album. I will fight those who disagree

Pretty damn good. Very enjoyable. Cool production and sound. Nice job radiohead

Overall, I liked the album. Favorite song had to be weird fishes/arpeggi. Melodic vocals, paired with steady and easy strumming of the guitar paired well. I especially liked the rhythmic drumming and the bass that anchors the entire tone of the song in one symphony. If you listen, they’re all doing something entirely different, but somehow it all ties together. Otherwise, it sounds like another mid 2010s alternative/folk album. Overall, good album, def coming back for weird fishes.

first time running thru this album the 7th by radiohead. cover is interesting type set looks like broken code with the inline text, /, and _. something exploding or a lot of heat causing sparks to fly as the image. i enjoyed the album, need to read the lyrics to understand what he’s saying more but love the instrumentals on it and the mixing is incredible, giving all instruments and thom yorke space to breathe, feels intimate like they were playing in a big bar. favs - nude, weird fishes/arpeggi, house of cards

I know this probably should be a five but just not as much what I love about music compared to many others.

Good for work

Muy bueno

Carino

Solid start to finish. Not the absolute best Radiohead album, but a few of their best songs.

All pretty much radiohead

8/10 - pretty good. Radiohead sounds like Radiohead.

Weird fishes, nude and all I need are exceptional

My relationship with this album has evolved over the years. When I was younger I remember not loving it so much. It just seemed so different from the older rockier Radiohead that I had listened to for years. That's what I thought, even though now I see it as a natural evolution of the band and another great entry in their discography. I've always loved some of the tracks on In Rainbows, but the album as a whole never seemed to click with me. Well, this time I sat down with the lyrics to really focus on the album as a whole to see if my views had changed. And it has. I get it now. It's one of the albums that I think does best when you can listen to the whole thing. Thom's voice is pretty lofty and often slurry and hard to decipher at times, but damn, musically and lyrically this album hits it. I dont know what it is about Radiohead's sound that just draws me in completely. Standouts are "Bodysnatchers" - it's so scathing and catchy melodically, I love it - "Weird Fishes / Arpeggi" and "House of Cards" - one of my favorite Radiohead tracks in general This one's hard to rate. I feel like it's so close to perfection. I think it ends up a 4 for me, there are a couple of songs that throw this off a perfect rating and Thom's delivery of a lot of the lyrics irks me in places. Fantastic album though.

They changed the game! On the internet! The internet sucks.

Difficult to rate, when this album came out I listened a lot to it. Not sure it has aged as well as some of there other Radiohead albums. I'm sure OK Computer is on this list and I would give that a 5 for sure. Will give this a 4 (partly for nostalgic sense). Jigsaw Falling Into Place favourite from the album.

Solid as an album, better than the sum of its parts

Its complicated structures are not easy and require your active attention, but its depths pull you in and reward repeated listening.

I like the intro song a lot. The rest of the music is too slow rock for my taste but sick instrumentals.

I think there are stronger albums in their discography, but this is definitely a Radiohead album.

another very good radiohead album with all i need song of all time (i think i should've given hail to the thief a 5)

The best Radiohead album I've heard so far (better than Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief) but still it didn't feel as perfect as people say. Maybe it needs way more relistens. Anyway, great album.

7/10 songs are in the playlist, first time I listen to body snatchers might be the top one.

9/10. Defining of what Radiohead is, immortalizing them. Colorful, geometrical, and emotional. Musicianship of the band at its peak, with Thom singing some of his most vulnerable work. Transcending language with his unbelievable melodies, for anyone and everyone to understand.

I don’t think most Radioheads (is that what they call hard core fans? They should) would say this album is a good entry point, but it was my entry point in earnest. Sure I knew Creep and heard there other songs in movies, playlists and mixtapes from friends but never sat down to listen to the album. That is until they released this album as a “name your price” download and I did and picked a few that was compatible with my life at the time. I didn’t regret it. Really like this album. I’ve still not explored much of their other works, though.

Bra artist, bra album.

I never really got into Radiohead before, but I know that a lot of people absolutely love them. This was a decent album, I will admit. It was a unique and soothing experience to listen. But going off this one, I don't totally see the hype. It's still good enough for a 4 star rating, but not really something I see getting me obsessed with them.

A really good one. A nice mix of their slower, more mournful stuff, and fast, frenetic songs. Jigsaw Falling is my favorite Radiohead song, followed by Weird Fishes, so I'm not even going to pretend not to be biased, though I do think some of the slower songs drag on a bit and don't do much for me. The good ones are enough to outweigh those. 4/5

# Album Name: In Rainbows # Artist: Radiohead # Rating: 4/5 # Comments: Im surprised. I really enjoyed this album. For some reason i always thought i never liked it. I'll be damned. # Top Tunes: bodysnatcher / nude / weird fishes / all i need / reckoner jigswa # Would I listen to it again? Yes

I had a whole weekend with this one and have started to realize that a lot of my favorite music from the 2000s and 2010s is very influenced by Radiohead. I really enjoyed this album. A lot more than I expected, since I typically gravitate towards their earlier albums. Solid solid solid solid.

Good album overall. After 4 listenings, nothing really hooked me. All of the songs were pleasant to my ears though. Good background tunes.

I really like this album. It reminds me of discovering new music in college and listening to albums front to back, which was a change from high school when we mainly listened to popular singles. It's haunting, powerful, and it's one of those albums that you don't forget.

I've been a fan of Radiohead since their beginning. Like most disaffected 90's teens I loved "Creep." And though the band has moved way beyond their debut, I can still find some great pleasure there. Most especially on "Stop Whispering" With their sophomore album they really stepped it up and it was one of my favorites of the mid 90's. Then OK Computer came out and the reached Musical Genius status. I listened to that album all the time. Ask me at the end of the 20th Century what my favorite album was and I would say it was that album of alienation, isolation, and dehumanization. With the 1, 2 punch of Kid A and Amnesiac and suddenly the new Century brought me a new favorite artist that could do no wrong. But something strange happened with me. I saw Radiohead in concert and it was as if by doing that I had reached a limit with them. Seemingly overnight I was over them. Hail to the Thief came out and the lead single didn't do much for me so I didn't even bother with the album. I rarely listened to those old albums that had meant so much to me. My fandom had run it's course. However in 2007 they released this album In Rainbows as Pay What You Want on the Internet. I had a new toy in an iPod and was looking to fill it up with anything I could so I paid what I wanted (probably nothing) and gave it a shot. And it seemed like a return for me. This is good. No, this is great. I liked it so much I eventually Paid for it on CD. And while my fandom has never quite returned to it's heyday I credit this album for bringing it back somewhat. I can't say whether or not In Rainbows is the last great Radiohead album as I really have never engaged with anything since. I can say it was the last great Radiohead album for me.

This is actually a surprisingly good album that I didn't think I'd enjoy as much as I did. It's pretty slowly paced, but still good

My first thought at seeing this as today’s album was ‘not my favourite era of Radiohead’, but ‘Weird fishes/Arpeggi’ is one of my favourite Radiohead songs. Thom Yorke’s vocals are so well suited to the erratic backing that fills this album and it gets off to a cracking start with a powerful 1-2 punch of ‘15 step’ and ‘bodysnatchers’. What I realise pretty quickly is that my musical tastes have shifted quite a bit since this came out or there isnt the shock their was when it became the first pay what you want album i bought. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this as its suffered in comparison to the bends, ok computer and even pablo honey as the radiohead albums i would reach for first.

This is actually the album that really got into Radiohead. Sure I knew Creep, Ok Computer, and other great tracks by them. But this is the album that got me fully into Radiohead. Then watching the basement of this album so good. This album is nostalgic for me at this point. Such a great album though!

Brit answer to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot? 3.5

it’s radiohead, need i say more

I am very familiar with this album. Its good, but not one of my favorite Radiohead albums. Still enjoyable and definitely continuing down the path they started with Kid A/Amnesiac.

A beautiful album that has been going into heavier rotation for me lately. Apparently I needed almost 20 years to settle into this one, worth the wait.

Favorite Track: Reckoner

I've never really given Radiohead a fair shot (outside of OK Computer) even with the heavy Muse comparisons. I think this genre is a pretty good fit to what I will like to listen to (especially compared to the 1000 other albums to come). I think it'd grow on me if I played through a couple more times. Overall, super solid. Favorites: - Weird Fishes / Arpeggi - Faust Arp - Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Haunting and mellow with great musicality....production is very good. 4/5

Fantastic record - pulls together everything they do well.

This was one of the first albums I ever got on vinyl. I’ve never listened to it before then, just a blind buy because everyone seems to have it in their collection. One of the better albums of my collection, simply because it sounds so rich on vinyl comparing to the digital version (snobby opinion, I know). This is an album to get lost in after taking a few hits. The sounds leave you in a trance and it’s such an experience to listen to. It loses steam by the end of the album, but I do feel that this is something that everyone should listen to at least once and definitely deserves a spot on this list.

One of their better albums. 4.5 stars

An enjoyable album. Sound mixing is truly excellent, and it's indeed a really tightly bound collection of songs. I was late to the radio head party as I was originally more into Muse, but it's been fun to rediscover what makes them excellent.

Radiohead forever

A good album with great album art. The whole album is pretty decent, but my favorite track is definitely "Bodysnatchers"

love and vulnerability - warm album, the instrumentation is emotional and dynamic.

👍👍 4.5/5

Best head yet. It took thing I liked from the other 5 head albums I have heard on here and put it all together. His voice is still a bit annoying to me but other than that it was a great album. 8/10

good good already heard

Good album. It has been a while since I had listened to it. Forgot how much I liked it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5. Almost a 5 star but not a huge fan of the first few tracks. The rest of the album is a transcendent, psychedelic rise into a world beyond words and physicality. Simply stunning.

I dont get it

I would not put this as my top Radiohead Album, but this sure is a good one. I remember arguing with my friends how much I should give when this first came out. I gave $10, btw.

Probably my second favourite Radiohead album behind hail to the thief, although it’s quite hard to compare the 2 based on them being 2 completely different experiences. Where hail to the thief is more experimental and electronic with more focus on variations between songs, more like a collection, in rainbows works more as a complete album experience with the songs having very similar feelings. It makes it perfect to either zone out and just enjoy the instrumentation or to fully concentrate and listen to the layers in the songs and the lyrics. This could also be seen as a complaint with the songs sounding too similar which I admit, I leant towards on my first listen but after a full second experience they are much more varied than seems, this is shown clearly from body snatchers to nude or from all I need to Faust arp for example. Although, this also means there are less standout tracks on this album, which is the opposite to HTTT where it has some really strong songs mixed with some weaker ones in my opinion. Favourites: body snatchers, Nude, weird fishes, Faust arp, jigsaw. House of cards and Reckoner are quite underrated on here as well, I pretty much just named 80% of the songs but I guess that shows this is a good album. Overall, 8.5/10.

Very great album with a lot of great moments that you let you really sit and enjoy the music. The atmosphere they build in the songs make it feel like a ride.

The Reckoner. Just ...

Already listened, 8/10.

A very good album. Great even! But I am still a bit baffled that it is so widely regarded as their best when it is probably not even in my top three. I appreciate the complex compositions, but it just has none of the emotional heft of some of their better achievements (The Bends, OK Computer).

Yeah I can really see why depressed people listen to Radiohead. This album made me feel sad but I liked it

Better than most!

Hauntingly beautiful. 4.5 stars is more appropriate than 4.

Blew my mind at the time. Is prima plezant plaatje tegenwoordig.

It was enjoyable. A little melancholy, but I think there was enough variation to keep me interested throughout the album.

7/10 nothing stuck out but Radio Head always makes me feel like they are worth listening to. 6-17-2025

Some great songs , not too many as my Son would describe “ soul crushing “ An evolution in their sound.

This kind of passed me by when it came out but listening now I feel I missed out. Really liked it.

radio...head???? fuck. wish i got head. last time it was a 12 year old girl... that wouldnt really hold up nowaways.. and besides, times have changed. now that being gay is kinda normal my friends have been more accepting towards the idea of me being... yk... a homo. so im thinking of coming out to them soon - they already figured it out really but just to fully confirm it. i feel that it's more...me. i want my friends to start calling me stephan from now on coz its like the gay version of my name and it lowk turns me on. i am scared to admit it but against my will i have dreams about my friends (male) having sex... and it makes me really hard when i wake up. sometimes i wake up with some weird liquid in my pants and it makes me kind of feel strange, so i then go and do my genuis method of jerking to console myself. let me break it down - bascially, since i spend so much time at home, ive been able to come up with my own special method - but dont tell anyone!!! basically what i do is... (ok promise or i wont go on...) ... (I SAID PROMISE!)...ok there we go... so. what i do is. i like to jerk off in the shower. crazy, i know. but im not done. i first remove the drain cover so there is a hole in the floor. (it reminds me of a... BUTTHOLE~!). next, i turn on the shower, and make sure its on the high pressure single stream setting. then, i position myself with my PP in the drain, and shower stream hitting my be-hind, and the result is almost instantaneous. no cleanup even required, which is the best part. anyway i hope my friends will accept me after i tell them on monday...wish me luck! as for TS album... yeah idk it was alr or sum didnt even listen imma be honest!! lowk read "head" and BUSTED at the thought!

listened to again still an incredible record

Even though some of the songs generally sounded the same, the album sounds incredible. This album was the first rock album I fully listened to, and it was a great introduction to the Genre.

Energetic and catchy at times.

já ouvi

Floating In Rainbows. Soft and strange and kind of hypnotic. Still has that Radiohead edge, but it’s tucked under warm blankets of synth and groove. The songs slide in and out of each other in a way that feels lowkey brilliant. Spins: 3 Playlist Additions: - Bodysnatchers - Weird Fishes/Arpeggi - All I Need - Jigsaw Falling Into Place

I like it. Very moody and progressive. It’s like rainy day music but in a good way. Really like the instruments and the overall vibe/sound.

The rainbows are in and you are missing out

Like a soundtrack to a crazy dream. The tempos change from song to song and sometimes within the same song. Handful of dreamy synths to frantic drums. Very moody album. Really solid.

I mean yeah, this is the most Radiohead i've ever listened to in my life. THere's no two ways about it. Another solid record - these guys know what the hell they're doing. It makes you beg the question...why has it taken me so long to listen to this? Shrug.

The only thing that makes me sad is that now I’m out of Radiohead albums to review.

15 steps : ★★★☆☆ Bodysnatchers : ★★★★☆ Nude : ★★★★☆ Weird fishes/arpeggi : ★★★★☆ All i need : ★★★★★ Faust arp : ★★★☆☆ Reckoner : ★★★★☆ House of cards : ★★★★☆ Jigsaw falling into place : ★★★★☆ Videotape : ★★★★☆ Overall : ★★★★☆

Another solid Radiohead album. Really not sure how or why I wasn't as big a fan of them before this project. Really like their style and sound.

Not their best, but a favourite. High 4s

I really liked it. Pretty chill.

amazing

apenas a nata. nada além disso. 4.5/5

Yahoo! I have this album! (#4). I was never a big Radioheadhead, although I do also have "Pablo Honey" (thanks to liking 'Creep' like a million other normies, probably). My college friend Alex was super excited for this album coming out, particularly because Radiohead released it online under a "pay what you want" model (one of the first to do something like that). So I paid like a dollar and got my money's worth. This didn't convert me to Radiohead fandom, but I like the album a lot -- I feel like it has more melodies than their other stuff; it's very chill, and although it's apparently not space rock ("art rock", says wiki), I feel it has a similar ethos (album cover included). Also they performed with the USC marching band at the Grammys later on, which was cool. Briefly considered a 5, but I really only love half the songs, so it's a 4. Highlights: 'Weird Fishes/Arpeggi' (they had me at "fishes"), 'All I Need' (one of my top songs ever), 'House of Cards', 'Jigsaw Falling Into Place'

The album is decent, but not my typical style. Added "Nude" to my playist for the vibe and the build, however the rest of the songs feel like a fade, if you know what I mean. I would love something a little bit more direct, but I did like the mysterious atmosphere the album has created overall. I am curious to see if this website also recommends other genres besides this rock-ish area. Day 1, 9:38 PM.

Weird, interesting, and well done!

This is an album that kinda slipped past me. I am not sure, but the first time I heard it when it came out it just didn't hit me. But man, driving into work today and giving it a listen, it just clicked. "OK Computer", "Kid A" & "Amnesiac" are (for me) a great trilogy, but this has a lot of tunes I really enjoyed. "Weird Fishes / Arpeggi" was probably the only one I scratched my head at, but the groove was there. Definitely coming back to this. "Jigsaw Falling Into Place reminded me a bit of "Everything In Its Right Place," actually. Top tracks: "15 Steps," "Bodysnatchers," "Jigsaw Falling Into Place," "Videotape"

better

Really fun to listen to this one again.

I might like it more than Kid A, even though it feels less spacey and more poppy almost?

Solid.

Very good.

We listened on Sunday 27 April 2025 while watching the Liverpool vs. Tottingham game (Liverpool clinched the Premier League championship!) Now for the music, it's not aggressive but has undertones of longing. The percussion is very dynamic. Tim has listened to this 80,000 times so I am the one reviewing. I'm sure we'll listen to it again!

I liked it a lot. Very spaced out bodysnatchers and weird fishes are my favs.

Beautiful album

Rating Date- May 3, 2025 Album Number- 122 Album Plays- 5 Album Rating- 4 Top Tracks- Bodysnatchers Weird Fishes/Arpeggi Reckoner Skip Tracks- Nude Videotape Listening Notes- Reckoner alone would make this album worth the listen. I’m familiar with Radiohead, but not their entire catalog. A couple of songs here that I don't love, but will enjoy this album repeatedly.

Such a sonically rich album, and yet another evolution from them. Also contains some of their best tracks. "All I Need" is one of Radiohead's best, even if many people aren't as familiar with it compared to their more "popular" tunes.

Love me some Radiohead as much as the next guy, but there are some Thom Yorkisms where the skip button starts to become appealing - like when he gets all manic and moan-y at the end of Bodysnatchers. Songs like Nude, All I Need & Videotape sort of make up for it.

Cosmic and essential. Fishes will forever be weird.

Pretty chill and low energy, nice synths!

7/10…art rock

First time listening. Loved it. Can't see it going into rotation though. Radiohead be like that

Feels like the music and my brain are melting together. 4/5

To this day it’s their best since OK Computer/Kid A. Not genius in the same way that some of their other albums are, but a really good listen.

I think there's just enough to merit a fourth star, in part because I love "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" and "Reckoner."

1. 15 Step - 6/10 2. Bodysnatchers - 7/10 3. Nude - 7.5/10 4. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi - 10/10 5. All I Need - 9.5/10 6. Faust ARP - 8/10 7. Reckoner - 8/10 8. House of Cards - 8.5/10 9. Jigsaw Falling Into Place - 10/10 10. Videotape - 9/10 8/10

Radiohead always delivers enjoyable albums.

Rhythmical and harmonic beauty at its finest. Hauntingly gloomy yet floaty and hopeful in the most spectacular way

Like it know it decent

Lush, great recording, clever. Sad and confused but insightful. I would listen again but it might not becompelling to go back to it

it had a U2 feel to it pretty good

how'd they get an entire radio in their heads

I think Jigsaw is their best song tbh, just unbelievably good Bodysnatchers is also an absolute banger

Typical Radiohead. 4

Already listened to it multiple times before. I really like this album and have some songs from it in my playlists.

I was not expecting to like this all that much, before today they've topped out and a high mid 4★. But after listening to this I almost want to reassess my actual thoughts on Radiohead. This might be the album that finally clicks for me. I was honestly expecting this to be a bloopy mess, but most of it is far more straight forward than *Theif*, and even struck me as more passionate than *Computer*. This may be the album that reels me in. 9.33/10 ★★★★½

Hmmm I’ve been underrating this one for ages. When it came out it seemed like just another Radiohead album and the only interesting thing about it was the ‘Pay What You Want’ marketing ploy which naturally as a sucker I paid the full amount for this. And while this isn’t nearly as good as OK Computer or the Bends. Or Kid A… or Hail To The Thief, it is still a very cool n classy, on form Radiohead album. 15 Step is a strong intro with a frazzled beat that is like stomping around on a floor electronic cornflakes in deliberate irregular time and Bodysnatchers is a nice standard Radiohead rocker. Weird Fishes tingles along pretty serenely but All I Need shines the most as a super sleek and searing trip-hoppy highlight with ghostly vocals and a bumping, almost Boards Of Canada Roygbiv bassline. 2nd half does lose a little bit of steam though. Faust Arp is like a crap reheating of Wolf At The Door with its juttery, schizoid, done-before talk singing and kills a tiny bit of momentum. Videotape brings the album to a bleak, trembling, iconic end and is one of few other tracks here to feel like proper classic Radiohead. Overrated in the grand scheme of things but still a very good album for them.

The aim of doing this is to 1. find great albums I'd never listened to and 2. reasses albums I had once dismissed. This is one I am glad I have reassessed. After OK Computer, Radiohead dropped off a cliff for me. Kid A etc left me absolutely cold. This album had a cursory listen at the time, but the purchasing process was odd and I considered it less of a proper release because of it. I know I did prefer it to their post-OK releases at the time, but I never listened to it again until it appeared here. What I like about it is that there are songs with melodies and bass lines that groove a bit. And rhythm. Overall, it feels like these songs are allowed to breathe - all the intensity is dialled back a bit to let the tunes rise to the surface. Glad I listened again. The first time it was almost a 5, but a 4 is probably closer - it's not that great, but very, very good.l and one I will listen to again.

A very pretty and very real album, although a tad overrated. 7/10

really beautiful album. 🩷 but for some reason, i have a hard time listening to all of thom yorke’s songs. some of them i like, and some not so much. it is really strange. i think he is just one of those artists that you have to relisten to many times before you can fully digest and comprehend a song. i will say that i feel like i like his solo music more than his band with radiohead from what i have heard on my own time, but i would have to listen to more to really say that. to elaborate, his music is so complex and lengthy that you would have to replay it a dozen times to really know which ones you like and do not like. thus being said, my favorites on this album were: “15 step,” “nude,” “weird fishes/arpeggi,” with “all i need” and “videotape” being my absolute favorites. ~ i think there is a high chance i will probably replay these songs if i am having an especially sad day or in really deep thought, and i think the more i listen to it, the better it will sound ~ 💛💙❤️💚💛❤️💙

I was pleasantly surprised by this album. Radiohead seemed to be overhyped before, but this is an overall good album.

This is #day227 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and... this is an album I kind of learned about Radiohead. I remember a feature on their song "All I Need" in a local teenzine, though I can't recall the details, just the fact that I saw it. Radiohead started to click for me a couple of years later, and looking back (which I’ve come to do best in life), I think discovering bands like Radiohead, who eventually become some of your favorites, is like trying on clothes everyone says are cool, but not understanding why at first. You keep trying them on, and over time, some of the pieces begin to fit, like a jigsaw falling into place. Moreover, the clothes turn out to be some of the most comfortable you've ever worn. In Rainbows stands apart from and transcends what they've done before and what they'll do after. It's astonishingly beautiful, intricately mesmerizing, and deeply personal. I love this album. This is a 4 out of 5. And I have it all here in red, blue, green... Looking forward to #day228.

This is an album I have a lot of nostalgia for, and am very familiar with. There was definitely a time when this was my favourite album and it certainly reaches very high to this day. Rating: 4.5

It is okay. Some powerful songs, some unimportant boring songs.

Loved this album - it was so easy to listen to and I can't believe I hadn't listened to it before

Always feel like I really have to immerse myself in the album when I listen to Radiohead. Nothing that really catches my attention when I give it the initial cursory listen to, while out for a walk or driving to work. But then I put it on the headphones and get lost in it. Almost gave this 3 stars, but bumping up to 4 after the second listening today.

Honestly wasn't sure what to make of it at first but once I let the song just pour over me , it was a hit. I really enjoyed the sounds and mood it put me in. I could see me using this album to focus on tasks

I quite liked it

Great album. It’s not up there with The Bends or Ok Computer but to be fair that is a very high bar.

I feel like Radiohead has always had one foot in the alternative world and one in the electronica world. Some of their albums lean more heavily toward one side than the other, but this one is a really nice balance. I’ve owned this album for years and have listened to it many times, and it’s always an enjoyable experience. I have to be on the mood for Radiohead sometimes, but when I am this is one of the better ones.

I think I'm going to give most Radiohead albums that pass through here at least a 4.

Good quality stuff - very distinctly Radiohead, although I was not familiar with any of the tracks.

Good solid album

2 Radiohead albums in my first 8. This isn’t as good as The Bends but still, probably their last good album.

It's Radiohead so it's great obviously. But it never really connected with me like some of their other albums. Reckoner is the standout track here, amazing.

Radiohead is one of the bands I've always wanted to love but still haven't quite embraced to their fullest. Their originality, musicality, expressiveness, talent, the undeniable influence on so many others; it's all there. I don't really understand why I haven't connected more strongly with this band.

Decent Radiohead album, but tainted by my reception of the original pricing model despite Saul Williams having released his album with the same model first.

I feel like the songs on this album have been with me for my whole life. Lively songs

much prefer this to OK Computer - Thom Yorke's voice much better suits softer music.

Album defs isn't a 5/5 for me but it's a 10/10 for giving me nostalgic Twilight feels right from the start. What stood out to me throughout the entire album was the really beautiful harmonisation in the vocals. Nude and Weird Fishies/ Arpeggi were a little too odd for my taste but overall still a very enjoyable album.

An enjoyable experience, but it all became a bit too samey-sounding as it went on for my taste. It's a great album as a whole, but I just didn't pick out as many standouts tracks as I would have liked. 4 stars

Enjoyed this one. Definitely not my favorite album of theirs, but still really good.

Pleasantly pop-ey from Radiohead.

5th Radiohead album I got. I like some of their music and I also hate some of their music. This album has some of their typical dreamy prog tracks that I don't like and also more upbeat songs. Sound like they were in a better place than their previous couple of albums. I like this much better. Favorite song: body snatchers.

Classic album that reminds me of art class at ECC

already listened to it. very good, appreciate the more indie direction

'Don't get any big ideas / They're not going to happen.' I'm not sure if this album qualifies as a 'big idea,' but it by all means 'happens.' Explosively subdued and gorgeously produced, this record is like a bargain that keeps on giving: I'll offer Radiohead the benefit of my doubt and they'll exchange that for something that's rich, that's immense, that's really quite special. I shouldn't like it is as much as I do, mainly b/c Yorke teeters dangerously on the pretentious: 'I get eaten by the worms / and weird fishes.' Yet, for all like that, there're also these: 'I am all the days that you choose to ignore'; 'I only stick with you because there are no others'; 'I love you but enough is enough, enough of that stuff.' And yeah, 'Reckoner' is prolific, it's superb.

My fav radiohead album 8/10

8/10. God damn I did not know how to rate this one. It's more similar to the style of music I like and I was kinda thinking this could be my first 5 star but to be honest, while I did really enjoy this album, it lacked that final piece to push it across the line. I did love some tracks like Reckoner and Weird Fish/Arpeggi with their kind of melancholic feel and there was definitely a healthy amount of weirdness across the board. If anything it has got me more excited to see what some of the more revered Radiohead albums like 'Kid A' and 'OK Computer' have to offer. Upon being requested to give this album another play I decided it did have enough good tunes to warrant an 8.

15 step - tikia tikia tika feels like a 2007 album ( which it is) body snatchers - GETTEM guitar eats lfgo nude- beginning crescendo sounds like tubthumping, beautiful medley is he floating ? airy and gentle weird fishes FAVE SONG ON ALBUM giving lis i feel like the back half of the album is stronger who doesnt live some werid fishes i felt that, very wavy all i need BACKTO BACK BANGERS is this the best radio head album? LOVEE THE BASS no because hes trapped and all he needs is you the longing goes crazy here this song is like the guac of radioheads nachos rekoner- drums on repeat here i love how it uses synth here sadd ass piano do you wnt me to cry radio head\ house of cards- TRUEEEEEE jigsaw falling into place OKAY THOM the beat it does go around and round i feel like this alnum cover is very representive of the songs videotape last travk and the slowest very yearnign very pensive

so this is what other people are copying surreal and lovely, cellos i can't quite put my finger on it best tunes: bodysnatchers, nude, all i need, house of cards

Standouts: Weird Fishes/Arpeggi All I Need Reckoner Jigsaw Falling Into Place Videotape

A few songs I would definitely listen to regularly

Not the #1 Radiohead fan but this shit is awesome

all together it is an amazing album. however the main thing is the full album by itself, I feel like individually some songs would lose its meaningfulness and sort of not as striking. Radiohead is one great band and I can't really criticize this in any way. That being said, ok computer is still their best album

Really enjoyed this as background music at the gym. I don't think it's something I'd listen to on the regular, I imagine it would be great for testing out headphones...

Obviously it’s good. But I was never a full-time…..Heady? Radioman? Yorkesman? RHer?

I remember being a snob about this album when it came out and you could choose how much you wanted to pay to download it. I felt that it devalued it at the time and wrongly assumed this meant it would have been made in a less caring way perhaps. I own three other albums and love The Bends and Ok Computer so it's a nonsense that I'd never heard this in full. Needs more listening for me to give it it's full value, which I think is probably quite high. 4, later rising to 5 probably from me.

Hienosti toimii taas Radiohead! Yllättävänkin helposti lähestyttävä! 4/5

Taas kerran erinomaista musiikkia Radioheadilta.

Already knew this album but hadn't listened to it in a long time since my ear has expanded. I have much respect for Thom Yorke and the boys for the strange soundscapes they touched on on this project. While not the catchiest nor upbeat album I've ever heard, I really enjoyed it. I think that in particular I listened to this on a day where I felt particularly emo so it really accented my day well. Favourite: All I Need Pulls: Nude, All I Need, Faust Arp, Reckoner, House of Cards, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

Not my favorite Radiohead album, but it'll do...

Had a tough time deciding between 4 and 5 stars but I think it’s a cut below Kid A and OK computer as I didn’t get the same sense of narrative as from those albums. That being said, at its best I’m not sure Radiohead has ever sounded better, especially Greenwood’s guitar and Yorke’s vocals

Not their best album but there are some incredible tracks on here for sure, Kid A beats it out but I’d put this over ok computer

Saw this tour. This has grown on me since it came out.

I'll give it a 4 though it's probably a 3 for me.

Mentally Radiohead's discography kinda ends at Kid-A for me, it's not that Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief are necessarily bad album, I just don't vibe with them the same way I did their first four albums. And then I remember In Rainbows and I am brought back to their earlier beauty. Sadly the discography does end for me again after that, for better reason than the first break. All that rambling to say, In Rainbows is a damn good album!

Yeah, I enjoyed listening to this

This is a groovy, weirdly intimate, and dreary art rock record. Weird time signatures, Thom Yorke’s signature vocalizations, and lots of weird. I don’t dislike this album at all, but I’m not sure I 100% get it. I like it, but it doesn’t give me the same feeling deep in my gut that earlier Radiohead did. Lyrically it’s both deep and clever, if not a little distressing at times. I’ve only listened to this album a time or two prior to being assigned it, and I probably won’t be rushing back to it. I appreciate it for what it is though. 3.5*.

I was a Radiohead fan during their alternative era - The Bends / Ok Computer are two of my favorite albums of all time. Kid A lost me when it came out, and I drifted away from Radiohead. Later in life, I've learned that I just didn't give it enough time. I have a feeling this one will be the same and that I'll be back to change this review. But for now, it hasn't grown on me enough, and still doesn't touch OK Computer in my book.

I like it. Bodysnatchers was especially delightful.

It's hard to divorce this album from it's digital "pay-what-you-want" drop that happened when I was in college ensuring that it was in all music discourse around campus. It was probably one of the reasons I never really dove into Radiohead during this time - I was just sick of hearing about them (a true hipster at heart). Well I'm kicking myself now, turns out I enjoy them.

I liked it ....

Liked songs: 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi, All I Need, Reckoner liked songs: all the rest This is basically the best of "newer"/more electronic/synthy Radiohead (i.e. post 2005) (although I also love TKOL). Big vibes the whole way through. 4.5

Tror jag tycker om dem?

It's Radiohead, just listen

I’m up and down on this album, but I come back to it a lot, so I guess the ups win.

i fw radiohead

4 out of 5. Possibly my favorite album of theirs, Reckoner being a standout for me.

Not my favourite Radiohead album but it's still Radiohead and it's very good. Highlight: Nude.

Very good

I fucking hate Radiohead. But. Listening to this album is like when your teacher pairs you up in an activity with the school bully, and it turns out he's actually a really nice guy. I am disgusted with myself that I really enjoyed this one. I still think they're a bunch of overrated crybaby cunts, BUT, it actually works here. Really good instrumentals, and the vocals seemed to mesh really well here. Well played, you bunch of pansies. You got me.

Thom Yorke might not have it in him to criticize Israel but him and his quintet of not-so merry men sure can very sporadically make good music

I am not the biggest Radiohead fan but this album worked really well for me. Interesting production and instrumentation, the vocals complement the music and aren’t overbearing and overdone like on other albums I’ve listened to. No huge songs here for me but there were a few ones that stood out, nothing that I would go out of my way to listen to outside of a relisten to this album. Which I am very happy to say I would listen to it again, I’m glad to have actually properly enjoyed a post-OK Computer album! Highlights: Nude, Weird Fishes / Apreggi, Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Is this the best radiohead album? probably. The masses may say OK Computer, I'm not so sure I agree with that. Is this album fantastic? In many ways, yes. Almost every song creates an amazing sense of space and atmosphere by demonstrating restraint on when to let the blend of electronics + real instruments go crazy vs. when to keep things nice and quiet. All I Need is my sleeper highlight on this one, using an updated version of that late 90's breakbeat percussion rhythm so well. Is/was this album also the bible for people who are beginning to think their music taste can cure cancer? maybe a little, yeah. My little mini-theory on that is this album came out during a time where personal music blogs were widely accessible and in-fashion, and many people were creating their own blogs, heightening the sense of personal pride on what music taste meant to oneself.

Brilliant

Was this the free one? Just Okay

a classic

Never really dug too deep into Radiohead (outside of OK Computer anyway) despite going to see them tour this album. This is very good though - I’ve been sleeping on these guys for too long. Will be coming back to this one for sure and exploring more (I would hazard a guess that there will be a few more of their albums on here…)

This might be the jolt I finally needed to get into Radiohead. The songs have a good range or style and feel and it holds together really well as an album. Close to 5 stars for me.

Standout Tracks: Bodysnatchers, Nude, Jigsaw Falling into Place

Another band who's hits I know and like, but I have never listened to a whole album. This is good. I will have to start at the beginning with their discography. Even after all these years, they still sound like Radiohead and that's a good thing.

I never listened to this album before but it will get more listens from me. Warmer than past albums and less moany.

Yeah, ok.

Great. Beautiful voice

Not as bad as it seemed when i first heard it upon release

Wonder why I didn’t listen to them at the time. 4.5

Only recently have I actually started to enjoy Radiohead. Previously, I dismissed the band as just another overrated Brit-pop band, I didn't have the time or desire to listen to. This summer, I read a book (can't remember the title) that reviewed and praised Radiohead's album input, so I took a deep-drive into their records. Their run of albums from 1995 (The Bends) to 2007 (In Rainbows) are essential listening with the band at their peak. What's great is these albums is that don't sound the same, their sound is diverse and gets more interesting with every listen. "In Rainbows" is their last great album and it shines throughout. A solid, beautiful record with layers of lush sounds that is as good or even better than most music from the late 2000's. A near-modern classic.

I‘m surprised, I lowkey like it..

Once again a Radiohead album that I liked. Whatever is the world coming to? Kept me interested all the way through. 4/5

89/100. Close to perfection.

Sweet and moody- sounds on sounds

Great album solid 4

I gotta say, of all the Radiohead albums i have listened to for this project (and in general) In Rainbows has easily got to be the most chill album of them all. Every sound here felt very minimalist and ambient all the way from the guitars to the pianos to the electronic sounds. And i really do like it, it fits into Radiohead's style of music really well and these songs were just perfect for relaxation. It might not be my favorite Radiohead album and the last song did go on for a little longer than it should have but it is still a really good album that i don't regret listening to. Best Song: All I Need Worst Song: Videotape

One of Radiohead's best albums. Better on repeat listens, and great lyrics, but Thom Yorke's voice grates after a while

Not sure what to say. I like it.

A collection of songs that is deeply introspective and moody. Interesting to consider what I would have chosen to pay for this had I bought it upon release.

Definitely more enjoyable than The Bends for me. I'd have to listen to them side by side to be able to better pick apart why. Generally I think something about the vibe on this one gelled with me more. I didn't really catch the lyrics this listen but I found myself floating along with the music as I listened. Looking forward to future listens to dive in more. On first listen "Bodysnatchers" especially jumped out to me, but at least liked the sound of most of the tracks.

Often imitated, never recreated. In Rainbows is a perfect blend of melodramatic anguish and cutthroat angst. I'm not the biggest Radiohead fan even going as far as to disrespect their music openly, however the more repetations I put into this band and this album it keeps me understanding why some many speak highly of them and this album.

I'm more of a bizarre, experimental Radiohead fan, but this album still has a lot of great stuff. It's well worth the listen.

still great, atmosphere is really unique. Still, a bit more variety in the songs would be nice.

\A beautiful album and one that I don't give enough love to. Beautiful marriage between Kid A and The Bends. Might be my 2nd favorite Radiohead album. Is it 5 stars? I'm going to have to go 4.5

Actually I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I didn't get on too well with Radiohead through their Kid A/Amnesiac period and so slept on this.

Top notch

One of Radiohead’s best. 4.5

This is probably my favorite Radiohead album. Controversial, I know. I just feel like it’s the most coherent and isn’t polluted with them being avant-garde for the sake of it. No one song on this album can hold a candle to my favorite Radiohead tracks (“karma police” “life in a glass house” “idioteque”) but it’s the only album of theirs I would consider putting on in its entirety.

This radiohead album is great but not their best work. This album is a perfect example of their talent to mix up beats and try new styles but comparatively to their older stuff it doesnt do it for me. radiohead is the goat but this is def on their more tame side.

I have listened to this record quite a bit and it might be their best.

nice, one of the best of radiohead, band I find always difficult to like and enjoy

Incredible

Not a huge fan of this one, almost feels too benign. Maybe that's the point but didn't give me anything to latch on to. Best track: Earlybird

I really enjoyed this, they have such a keen ability to create a mystical and dense atmosphere and vibe paired with Thom Yorke's almost haunting vocal performance. Videotape is also one of my all time favs

i hate thom yorke but this was good i fear 4/5

Liked this album a lot better than the previous Radiohead album I reviewed

Not quite at the levels of OK Computer, but it's super complex and experimental annd extremely well mixed. Radiohead really is one of the best modern bands. 4⭐️

Always an interesting sonic experience with Radiohead. I never had listened to this album before, I had OK Computer and Amnesiac. I'd probably go back and listen to this again being a fan of those older Radiohead albums. Tracks I liked: All I Need Reckoner plus a few more

No idea who's more pretentious: People who love Radiohead, or people who hate them. I've always been a middle ground, enjoying "hits" like High and Dry, Karma Police and Just, realising now that I don't hate the band. I hate the fans and the haters. Given this is my first full Radiohead album experience, I'll try to be as objective as I can be. It was okay, surprising at times since I didn't expect I'd like most of the songs, but it's not the second coming of Christ like some people act it is. Good shit, very very good shit. 9/10
