Creedence Clearwater RevivalI see why the Dude was concerned about getting his Creedence back.
I see why the Dude was concerned about getting his Creedence back.
This ain't it for me. He didn't even really sing, it was closer to reading poems to soft background music. The instrumentals are fine I guess, but I can't see myself relistening to a single song of this. This is a deep cut arthouse type of album.
Not sure exactly what I just listened to tbh. The real divine comedy was that i listened to the whole thing.
Best parts of the album were when the guy wasn't singing.
After 5 Bowie albums (and counting) - can confirm it's not my style. I don't really get all the hype for his music.
First half hype, back half chill. Solid album.
Really nice horns and piano sections. Would be nice in right time and place.
Enjoyable enough but not any songs that I can see myself putting on repeat. It's not really my cup of tea.
A few bops on here. I dig this album.
Just alright. Somewhat underwhelming. A couple good ones on here.
About expected. Good blues album. Another one that would be good for the right time and place.
Solid easy listening album. Couple big hits even 45+ years later.
A whole lotta big name producers on this one and it shows. A few classics on here. Not something I would put on frequently but 13 year old me would have loved it. Second half of the album not as good as first half.
I liked the album but it just didn't feel like a 4. I'll have to check out Minor Threat when I'm in a punk kind of mood.
This one wasn't for me. Major singer-songwriter vibes, this struck me as poems set to some guitar playing for the most part.
This was a great album. There's a little bit of that "singer-songwriter" type feel to it but it offers so much more than that. Will listen again.
This one didn’t do it for me. Seemed very generic.
Really enjoyable all around. Dude can shred. Will probably listen again.
Not bad, not great.
About what I expected. I could see this being nice to put on for a fancy dinner but not something I would keep in rotation.
I really like this album. A handful of bangers on here for sure. Will definitely listen again. Solid 4 but I think I still like ATLiens more than this one.
Classic album. It's 30 years later and I still know a bunch of these songs. Maybe nostalgia is getting the best of me with this rating, but isn't it iconic?
Actually a pretty fun little album. Short and sweet, but I enjoyed listening to it. I liked it more than I thought I would. On the lighter side of the 4s for me, but felt like more than a 3.
Definitely a stronger 3, but it didn't feel like a 4. There are a couple really cool songs on here but the back half of the album felt sort of flat to me.
Always a pleasure listening to Little Simz. Not my favorite album of hers, but it's still a great listen. A light 4 I'd say, will definitely listen again.
Nice album, will dig into Dire Straits more but overall the album didn't blow me away.
This ain't it for me. He didn't even really sing, it was closer to reading poems to soft background music. The instrumentals are fine I guess, but I can't see myself relistening to a single song of this. This is a deep cut arthouse type of album.
Not really my genre but I like aspects of it. Enough of a slight bluegrass/folk feel to make it more than just a typical singer-songwriter album.
Better than average but not better than most. Would probably be good to put on during a long car ride alone.
This was a little underwhelming for me but overall still a good album. Not Stevie at his best for me, but still a good album compared to others.
Didn't really move the needle for me. I didn't dislike it, just was very meh. They have a distinct sound that's for sure.
Very enjoyable. I'd never listened to YYY's before but I'll be checking out more of their work.
A fun poppy lil album.
Great album. The whole thing flowed very well. Definitely an album to listen straight from start to finish.
First Iggy Pop album I've listened to and it was enjoyable enough. Would've hit different listening to it back in the late 70s. Still holds up though.
Always great listening to a Stones album. Great tunes start to finish. Probably not my favorite album of theirs, but that's not a knock on it.
Voice reminds me of Bowie. Another one in the "like but didn't love" column.
Interesting one for sure. I can imagine myself being blown away in 1976 throwing this on the record player with a nice set of headphones, but in 2024 it doesn't hit quite the same. I imagine it laid a great foundation for a new genre but I don't think it's stood the test of time the same way. Cover art is sick tho.
Great album. I'm not well versed in jazz music but this one was an awesome listen start to finish. Some great solo work in between some all around great music.
Reminds me of drug fueled nights in smoky establishments. I can only imagine the scenes of an underground rave in the early 90s with this blasting. Fun stuff in here but not an album I care to listen again from start to finish.
Over 2 hours for an album is wild behavior. I am 84 minutes into this and I've grown a full beard, a spittoon appeared on the ground next to me, and I am suddenly in a rocking chair on a warm porch somewhere in Appalachia.
Truth be told, I didn't listen too intently to this one. Had it on at work. I dig the vibe though. Will likely give it a better listen again at some point.
Classic indie album. Nothing that floored me but pretty good album.
A couple songs on here were fun boom bap but overall the album felt one dimensional. Too many of the songs were unnecessarily long.
There are times when you come across a piece of art and think to yourself "I just don't get it". This was one of those times for me. Might be nice background music for reading.
Started off strong but then there were no new peaks. Enjoyable, but felt like something I’d put on as background at work than something I’d listen to normally. Better than the other electronic albums I’ve listened to though but it’s just not my genre.
Very solid album, but I don't think it crosses into "great" territory.
Fun lil disco album here. A few hits on here but can't say it makes me want to dive further into their other albums. It was a nice surprise to start off with the song that was sampled in Will Smith's "Gettin Jiggy Wit It".
This was an experience. Seemed to ride a fine line between music and just toying around with a bunch of instruments independently. I didn't understand this album in the same way I don't understand Jackson Pollock paintings.
I always enjoy live sets but Kurt's voice is definitely helped out on their typical studio albums. Still has their punk feel in a much more stripped down way. I prefer their normal albums but this is still great.
This is probably 1-2 songs away from being a 5 for me. Cover art is a solid 5. Slayer shreds.
Honestly if it wasn't Bowie it might be 1/5 territory.
Pretty solid album. I'm not a huge FM fan so I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed this album more than I thought I would.
Can't believe I hadn't listened to this one before. Golden voice she has there. Even 13 years later these songs are hits.
Definitely the best of the singer-songwriter albums I've listened to so far. Very peaceful feel. I dig her style.
First line in the album sums up my thoughts about seeing another Leonard Cohen album appear: "They sentenced me to 20 years of boredom"
Pretty luke warm on this one overall. I like his songwriting and his voice goes well with it, but it just didn't get me going like some of his other work.
I don't think it was bad, I just didn't really like it. I bet this would be fun at a live show, but for sitting and listening as normal it wasn't for me. I can definitely hear how this was influential for other similar bands to follow.
I do like me some Dusty. About what I expected from a full album of hers.
Had some interesting moments but too much random noise for my liking.
The cover if Iron Man was a welcome surprise. I also did not know who sang Lovefool until now.
Good jazz. Another one for me that is best for a specific time and place though.
A couple of songs I really liked, some others I was just lukewarm on. Overall a nice album, not my favorite of theirs though.
Kind of a strange album. Filled with a whole bunch of very short songs that all sound pretty similar. Gives the feel of very early punk.
There's a reason why he's nicknamed "The Boss" and not "The Deadbeat Employee". This album slaps.
Not quite my tempo.
I really like a few of the tracks but overall I think it's just ok.
I liked it, will probably listen again. Nothing stood out to me as a certified banger.
About what I expected from a lone Beach Boy. Some good lake music, nothing outstanding though. I only listened to the original version, maybe someday I'll give the whole deluxe a listen.
Can't say Lambchop is for me. The instrumentals on some songs were fine but overall not something I'd listen to. In some ways this reminded me of Leonard Cohen, just with actual background music.
Some classic 70s disco here. Couple hits for sure.
Nice lil indie pop.
I'd listened to this one a while back and liked it, but for some reason I enjoyed it even more on the 2nd listen. Kind of riding the line of 3 and 4.
Quite liked this one. Very simple overall but a solid album. Riding that line between 3 and 4 for me.
I thought it was fine, nothing that really made me groove along.
This is a great album. There's plenty of variety on here and I was vibing along the whole time. The production is on point and Lauryn has so much talent.
Pleasant little album, this.
Didn't like this one as much as Bryter Layter. A bit more one dimensional than his next album.
Not bad, reminded me of Tears for Fears.
Oh how I wish I knew of this album in my days of travelling through West Texas. This isn't something I'd keep on repeat, but I enjoyed it and will probably return to it some day when the mood is right.
About what I expected based on the album cover to be honest. Fine album, nothing particularly great.
So smooth, so groovy. Great album.
Fine album. Some hits that have stood the test of time but overall I thought the album was decent.
The instrumentals were alright but not a fan of the vocals. With a few exceptions, the lead singer was just talking into the mic.
The title track and Paradise by the Dashboard Light are bangers. Some of the lyrics are a bit interesting. Will probably listen again though because it's a fun album.
Really solid album. Definitely will listen this again and more Black Keys in general.
Quite liked this one. Iconic album.
Not in my top 3 Kendrick albums but that's not much of a knock on this. I still very much enjoy this album.
Bit of a wacky one, this. Gotta say I enjoyed it though.
Surprisingly, I've never actually listened to this whole album. Heckuva bass player. I think too many short but similar songs to give it a 4.
Solid reggae album. No songs really stuck out to me in particular but still enjoyable enough.
Pretty fun album here.
Starts off strong but levels out midway through. Nice album overall, but nothing special.
Such a great voice for the music style. Really enjoyed this.
Would be very fun to actually have seen this live but the album version is just alright.
Strange that this one isn't on Spotify, had to listen to the thing on YouTube. I actually don't mind Our House (maybe it's more nostalgia than anything else) but didn't really like the rest of it. I can't quite describe why I didn't like it, but this one just isn't for me.
I liked this much more than the other King Crimson album. Was pleasantly surprised to hear the album kick off with a song that was sampled in MBDTF.
The lack of too many background instruments really emphasize the lyrics on this. Really a great story teller and I quite liked this album.
I'd never actually listened to this whole album. The hit songs are all bangers but the others are pretty meh.
Like this one but didn't love it. Might need to give it a relisten.
I like alot of the samples but some of the beats were too out there for me. Some classics on here though.
I don't think I'm the target audience for this. I think there's some ok parts but probably won't listen again to confirm.
Pretty cool album, reminded me of Talking Heads
Good classic punk.
Good album, but I didn't like it as much as some of the other Stevie albums I've listened to so far.
Honestly not quite sure what I just listened to. There was a 10-second span where I bopped along, then something that sounded like a mix of a chainsaw and an alarm clock started going. I'm glad this was on the list, but that doesn't mean I liked it.
Not my favorite 2pac album but still a good one.
Quite liked this, close to a 4 but not quite. Will probably listen again.
I liked this quite a bit more than I expected to. Easy listening, great voice, solid instrumentals. Reminds me of my grandparents.
Pretty meh album. I was thinking about giving it a 3, then the song "If It's in You" came on...
So many face melting solos here. I can't tell which is better - the music or the album cover.
Some good, some not so good. Overall a pleasant folk album.
Not really my style but still decent.
Definitely some talented jazz musicians on the album, it just didn't move me like some other jazz albums on this list have.
Best parts of the album were when the guy wasn't singing.
There were some certified bangers on here but also a few duds. Overall enjoyable.
Not really my genre.
Bit of a strange album. It's a few good songs sandwiched between 12+ minute long jam sessions. I liked it, but it's nowhere near The Wall.
Not bad, just a bit boring.
One of the more unique ones I’ve heard in a while. I liked the vibe.
I’m not that big into Christmas music. Fine songs, not something I’d put on unless it’s December 24 or 25.
Boring.
I guess I'm a Dolly fan and did not know it.
This album gets real funky in places. Some lows of the album keep it to a 3.
Never listened to The Cure before but based on this I don't have a strong desire to listen to more of their work.
Some beautiful music. It opened me up to a new genre to explore. Really liked this one start to finish.
It seems like when a musician is down bad they either make a banger of an album or something hella boring and sad. Unfortunately this is the latter.
Pretty plain I thought. Nothing particularly good or bad. Probably hit harder in '77 when it came out.
A fine album, nothing bad about it but nothing spectacular. Some classics on this one though.
Cover art did not match the music. Not really my style but some of it was alright.
Very meh. Can't say I liked this one.
I enjoyed it overall but it was a bit plain. I liked some individual songs but not thrilled with the entire album.
Best song of the album was the first song. Felt pretty plain to me.
Didn't really dig this one too much. Two classics on here stops it from being a worse rating.
Maybe post-hardcore isn't my genre.
Interesting album here. Many of the background noises make it very "tribal" feeling. Some fun parts, not sure I'll listen again though tbh. This is the kind of album that belongs on this list. I'd rather listen to this than some random generic indie pop album from a one-hit-wonder band.
Some great producers worked on this one. Classic album.
Outside of Time of the Season it's pretty meh. I wanted to like it more than I actually did.
I think it's good but not great. Based of this alone I don't understand all the hype about The White Stripes, but from what I saw on Spotify this doesn't look to be their most popular album.
I like music of the 60s but I thought this was just alright.
Maybe I'm just not a big Bowie guy. This was much better than The Next Day though.
I think this was a bit longer than it needed to be.
Not the first time I listened to this and will not be the last. Love this album.
Haven't listened to much REM outside the hits. Pretty solid album here.
Maybe I'm just not feeling very punky today. I'd always heard good things about Sonic Youth but this wasn't really for me. Kool Thing brought me back to my parents basement in 2007ish playing Guitar Hero 3.
Who knew the Come on Eileen guys had more hits.
Not my kinda album. They seem like a generic mix of a bunch of different bands tbh.
Can't help but compare it to early Stones albums. I liked it, but this confirms that I am more of a Stones fan. Still a solid album though.
The album peaks early with Money for Nothing and Walk of Life. Seems to drop off after that.
Not really doing it for me. It's not bad, just not my genre.
I was really digging it at first but then seemed to plateau. Not their best album but you can tell the foundations are there for much better work.
Q-Tip is always so smooth with it.
A classic and widely regarded as one of the great albums of all time for a reason.
Dark album with bits of humor sprinkled throughout. I've always loved the way he bends words. Probably his best album imo.
I was close to giving it a 4 but not quite. Drive is still a banger though.
MF DOOM with a real clean sample on that first track (and apparently at least one other one too). I love when an old soul album pops up and there's little easter eggs. Overall the album is fine though.
This gets a 1/5 for the Satisfaction cover alone. The rest of the album was pretty bad too, but that was a particular low point of the album.
After listening to 3 Bowie albums I feel that I can safely say I'm not much a fan. He was very influential and important for music as a whole, but not my style.
This is a tough one to review. I didn’t find it that enjoyable but it is still a beautifully arranged album. Some very nice segments throughout the album, just not really my style.
Eh, I’m pretty indifferent towards this one. Nothing particularly good or bad.
I’m glad I listened to this with my good headphones on. The whole first half is bangers that are still hits 20 years later and I really enjoyed the back half of songs I wasn’t as familiar with. The bass player was in his bag throughout this whole album. I expected to like it, didn’t expect to love it. Great album.
This lands a somewhere between a 3 and 4 for me. Rounded up because there’s a few songs that are certified bangers.
I think it's the best of the Bowie albums I've listened to. I'd always heard great things about this album but it was just alright in my opinion.
After 5 Bowie albums (and counting) - can confirm it's not my style. I don't really get all the hype for his music.
I liked the album. Not something I would normally put on but it was a pleasant listen.
Classic 60s stuff here.
I agree with another review that they're very similar to other Brit bands of the era. Some of those bass lines be groovy fr tho.
Nice album but about expected for indie rock.
Good ambient music but that's about it for me.
Some great stuff on here. Will listen again.
If I was younger and on drugs at a party, this would be more highly rated.
Very solid album. Some certified classics on here.
I've been thinking I should get into The Doors more. This album confirmed that.
Overall just some regular classic rock. Not a good sign when the first song is the highlight of the album though.
Kind of a banger here.
Pretty fun album. I'd only ever heard their hits before so it was nice to give a full album a listen.
I like Talking Heads but was a bit underwhelmed by this one.
A few songs didn't do much for me but there's still some real heat on here. The highs are very high on this one.
I really just can't get enough Steely Dan. Not my favorite album of theirs, but still a really good album.
Feels very ahead of it's time. A bit too hardcore for me but still cool to hear some very early, very raw hardcore punk. I don't think I'll listen again but glad I heard it once.
Quite fun album tbh. The dancefloors in the late 50s must have been on fire with this one.
I don't think I'm in the right state of mind to fully appreciate this one. Since my psychedelic drug days are behind me, I don't think I'll ever be in the right state of mind to fully appreciate this one.
A bit too long and too many low points to be a 5. Too bad this was the only solo album she put out.
Prince brought the heat.
I like the folksy vibe but a bit boring tbh.
What an unexpected ride. This one seemed to be a few actual good songs packaged around a bunch of super artistic type music. I'm battling with defining whether I liked this one or not. Can't say I would listen again, but this is another album that deserves to be on this list solely for the uniqueness of it.
Feels like a soundtrack to a Tim Burton film.
I see why the Dude was concerned about getting his Creedence back.
With the album cover and a release year of 1958 I wasn't sure what to expect but boy it was a great surprise. Not something I'd normally listen to but it was great.
Love all the hip hop samples taken from this album. Funky jam here, will probably listen again.
There's a time and place for this album. I think it's in the basement of a grungy rave in the late 90s/early 00s. Can confirm the time and place isn't at my desk in 2025 looking at a spreadsheet. The Rough and The Quick deserves a shout out though. Not because it was a great song, but because the content was unexpected and gave me a laugh.
Not particularly good, not bad. Just not quite for me.
A bit hit and miss for me. Some songs were on the boring side.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps is the highlight. Overall it's too long for my taste.
Hard to believe this was Chef. Genuine baby making music. Some of the songs dragged on for far too long though.
There are albums on this list that I don't really enjoy but I agree that they belong on the "Albums to Hear Before You Die" list. Unfortunately, I didn't much enjoy this and don't quite understand how it made the list. It feels generic.
I like Neil Young. I think he's a very talented musician and writes some great songs...but was there nobody in the studio that said "hey maybe don't try and hit those high notes" ? Not his best work imo but still a fine album.
Two classics on here but overall it was just an alright album.
Pretty indifferent towards this one. Some classics on here but the rest was pretty meh.
The production on here is a real sign of the times. Some of the samples used in these songs are crazy. I liked it overall but didn't love it.
Overall I thought it was an okay album. Alright is the highlight, wasn't expecting to get something from the Clueless soundtrack this morning but it was a welcome surprise.
If you told me Tim Burton was an alter ego of Tom Waits I'd believe you.
One thing is for certain - I listened to the album. I can't recall a memorable moment of it, but I listened. This is the definition of ambient music.
I'd always heard this was a solid album but never gave it a listen. I really enjoyed it, a few nostalgia songs mixed in with some good ones I'd never heard.
I enjoyed the first half more than the 2nd half. Overall I enjoyed the album though, will be listening to some more of her work.
This was an experience! This is the kind of album this list was made for. It was fun for a couple songs, but I didn't need 90 minutes of it.
The story telling on each song makes it seem like it would be fun to listen to on a long car ride.
For some reason I misread the band name as Devo and thought to myself "ahh shit I'm not looking forward to this." Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be Duran Duran.
Red Eyes is a banger but the rest were new to me. They're quite pleasant, I'll probably add them to the rotation.
Seems to be quite a bit of electronica on this list. I don't get the appeal, much of this just seemed like noise. It seemed to keep dragging on and it was a struggle to get as far as I did.
Some albums transcend time but this one felt stuck in it.
Some good songs on here but the whole thing is just too dang long. If some of these were left out of the album it might've been a 4.
I've never been much a fan of them outside their hits but I didn't realize that many of their hits came from this album.
Not the album for me. Its no 1999.
I'm only lukewarm on Queen and this album did not convince me I'm wrong for it.
I wouldn't say I needed to hear this before my death.
I can get into punk rock but I thought this one was just alright.
Where is My Mind is the best on the album by a long shot. The rest was just okay.
Not my favorite album on the list but it's fine. Nothing particularly great or bad about it.
Rush brings it.
I think it was just too slow for me to find it enjoyable. No change in tempo to keep it interesting for me, just slow. Lead singers voice is nice and I enjoyed a couple portions of songs, but I don't think any song stood out to me as something to go back and listen to.
At least he's better than Leonard Cohen
Really enjoyed this one to be honest.
Wild that this came out in 1970. They're definitely trend setters, this album was pretty solid.
Not sure exactly what I just listened to tbh. The real divine comedy was that i listened to the whole thing.
Not bad for early punk rock. It's usually not my style but I thought it was enjoyable enough.
An interesting listen for sure. Nature Boy sounds like it was an unused track from Sweeney Todd. Bit annoying that a handful of songs are not available on Spotify.
Overall decent. "Lover, You Should've Come Over" bumped it up to a 3.
Who knew I was a Led Zeppelin fan.
Not really the biggest fan of Queen overall tbh. I didn't dislike the album, but I also didn't love it.
I've got to say I disagree with the Dude, I enjoy The Eagles.
Unexpected banger of an album
Giving this a 2 because it was 35 minutes of edging me. I was excited when I saw it was a Curtis Mayfield album but this left me wanting more the whole time. I had to listen to the extended version of Move on Up to get me there before I could move on with my day.
Felt sort of like a bland rock album. This gets bumped to a 3 after reading a little about it, pretty cool that Grohl did all the instruments for the recording.
Not my favorite Tribe album but boy is this slick.
A couple bops on here. These guys were real thirsty for some women though wow.
Crazy that this album came up today considering that Brian Wilson passed away yesterday. Feels like the right time to listen to the Beach Boys. They have a really iconic sound. A bit dated, but I'll never complain when someone throws them on.
Starting off with Purple Haze really set the tone. A fine experience, indeed.
I went from "oh nice, an album that I haven't listened to but have heard good things about" to "what the heck is even this" pretty quickly.
Unfortunately not on Spotify and the YouTube playlist I found didn't have all the songs. From what I heard I thought it was pretty good.
I liked the first half but the back fell flat.
This is my kinda country music. Very fine album, especially liked ending on Act Naturally.
Good but not quite great. Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me.
Can't say I was excited to listen to a 4th Leonard Cohen album. At least it seemed like he tried to make music here. I still didn't like it, but it's by far the best of his albums that I listened to.
Missy and Timbaland are a smooth combo. A few bops on here but overall it wasn't my favorite project. Close to a 4 for me but not quite there.
Such a unique style. I have vague memories of seeing them in 2010. Really solid album overall here.
I like Dead but this wasn't great. Maybe it's one of those "you had to be there" things...
Pretty good album here. Has some range but still brings good punk from start to finish.
Boring
I like these sorts of albums being peppered throughout this list. Whoever was working the bongos was crushing it.
I thought a few songs were okay but it was a very plain, middle of the road album for me.
Fun album here. I wouldn't say I loved it, but this is the kind of stuff I love popping up on this list.
A light 4, but better than a 3. A few jams on here that have stood the test of time.
I like early Stones work. Not my favorite album of this era for them but still quite good.
I thought this was pretty good but nothing great. A few hits on here, it's somewhere between a 3 and 4 for me.
I'm not mad at another excuse to listen to this album. I've listened to this several times and it's a banger from start to finish. My only gripe with the album is on the song Come As You Are - Kurt was lying to the listening audience, he clearly had a gun (or maybe that was just Courtney Love who had the gun).
Giving this a 3 because I respect how influential they were for the genre. That's definitely clear after giving this a listen. They get no higher score because I don't think the music was that good.
This album was so smooth that I didn't even walk while listening to it, I simply glided.
Honestly I only listened to a little bit of this one. She has a beautiful voice and the music was nice. I've got to cap a 3-hour album at 3 stars though, don't nobody got time for that.
New wave really isn't my thing I guess.
For some reason this didn't really move the needle for me. I thought it was fine, but nothing to swoon over.
Not my favorite album of theirs, but still quite good.
For some reason I always assumed ska was more of a 90s thing. A couple fine songs on here but not quite my style.
A pretty solid album here. I didn't like it as much as the previous Springsteen album but still good.
Meh. Bit too slow for what I'm looking for when I put on Springsteen.
This album is like when you spot a hot chick in a dimly lit bar and think "oh man i've gotta talk to her" but then when you see her up close you realize she's not attractive.
Hard to Handle is definitely the main attraction here. Rest of the album is fine I guess.
There's something about hearing a few masters play their instruments together. As far as jazz goes, this brings the heat.
Probably not my favorite Metallica, but still pretty good.
Very meh. Only one decent song really.
A decent jam album.
Not quite a 4 for me but still an enjoyable album. Ending with Waterloo Sunset was a nice surprise
Gotta say I enjoyed this one. I didn't know Janis Joplin was in this band before her solo career. I enjoy her vocals.
Better than I was expecting tbh. I hadn't listened to this before but thought it was pretty enjoyable. I may give it another listen down the road but I don't see this as something I'll keep on repeat.
My stepdad had this album and for years I just assumed he didn't let me listen to it because of the cover. Now I know he was just protecting me from the music.
Overall it was decent. Not my favorite Neil Young work, but still pretty good. Not sure I'll return to this one but it was enjoyable enough.
Pretty indifferent towards this one. Felt pretty generic to me tbh.
Not sold on the lead singer but this was a decent listen.
Classic Beach Boys album. A few bona fide hits on here, but outside of those I wasn't feeling it too much.
Not quite my cup of tea m8 innit
What an album. I've listened to it so many times but I welcome another excuse to give it a listen.
Angels reminds me of the glorious Spurs run to a Europa League trophy with Big Ange. I'm lovin' big Ange instead. Rest of the album was fine enough.
Classic album. Still a bunch of hits even 40+ years later.
Pretty lukewarm on this one. It's a soft 3.
A bit surprised by this one. At one point in the album I was considering a 4, but the back half dropped off in quality a bit. Still pretty enjoyable overall, it's unique.
This one didn't really do it for me. This was kind of like a more drab Tears for Fears.
I like the band name but it didn't take long for me to realize I wasn't going to like this album. I feel like they're trying hard to make something beautiful but it just didn't land.
Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. Something about it is so soothing. Really nice album, will probably listen again.
A stronger 3 than some but wasn't at that next level for me. Enjoyable album.
Just alright but some cool sections. I read his Wikipedia and the guy kinda sounds like a POS.
Overall it just didn't do much for me.
CCR always brings it. If I had this on tape I'd be sure to keep it somewhere safe, probably in my briefcase with my business papers. That would ensure that nobody could steal it.
I feel like this album wanted to be a 4, it was close and had many great elements but for some reason it just seemed to fall a little short. V funky though.
Listened before, will listen again. Such a classic album.
This was a fun listen, whole lot of energy here. Nice and quick too so I'll probably listen again.
Early punk aint my thing bruv
It wasn't bad, but I didn't enjoy it. Entirely forgettable even a couple hours after listening to it.
The singer has such a unique voice. Overall decent though.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this album. Some classics on this one.
About what I expected. Enjoyable enough.
I enjoy trip hop but this felt pretty plain.
Seems like the kind of music I'd make if I was trying to figure out how to use the drum machine.
For as much as I like punk music, post punk just doesn't do it for me.
This one is somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me. I enjoyed it but didn't love it.
There were portions of this I really enjoyed and others I was pretty lukewarm about. Was expecting more from this one tbh since I enjoy other Roots albums.
Karma Chameleon is a banger but aside from that nothing really got me moving.
A bit underwhelming for what I'd hoped.
Giving me Dark Tower vibes. Is this who the Gunslinger was following through the desert?
Title song is obviously a banger but the rest of the album was just alright.
I think I enjoyed this more than I care to admit despite not being a big 80s music fan.
Liked it, didn't love it.
Not awful but also not something I'd willingly listen to again
Far more enjoyable than I was expecting.
Can't believe this is the same guy that did Mambo #5. What range he's got (jk jk)
Yeah it was pretty good. The length of the album is crazy though.
My favorite Stevie album that I've listened to so far.
Fun enough but overall just alright.
Gotta say I enjoyed this one, especially Paranoid Android and Karma Police. Not my first listen through.
She's got such an incredible voice. Very good album, this.
I was prepared for a pretty mediocre album since I'm not huge on their singles but this was much more enjoyable than I expected.
This was a refreshing blast from the past.
Can't believe they only had one studio album. Very punk rock of them tbh.
I recognize the pure talent, but this was a little too free form for me.
Live albums don't do much for me, though this would have been a fun one to be at.
This one wasn't for me. Gets a 2 because there was one song that was fine.
Gotta say I enjoyed this as a whole more than I thought I would.
About what I expected. Overall decent.
Maybe I'm just not a Pete Gabriel guy but I can live with that fact. Sledgehammer and In Your Eyes are the only enjoyable songs off this one for me.
I was expecting to like this more than I did. Dookie was a better album imo.
Pretty good, don't know if it's something I will go back and listen to again but it was enjoyable.
Love this album. My kinda style.
It was fine background music I guess.
A couple classics on here but I'm just not much of a U2 guy.
About what I expected. Not bad, not great.
Liked it more than I expected to, but tbf I wasn't expecting much.
My dad was a big fan back in the day but I don't see the appeal.
I don't know what level is above conscious rap but this is there. A younger me would have probably loved this, now I just find it depressing that much going on in the country hasn't changed much in 30 years.
An unexpected sample from a Snoop Dogg song is always a welcome surprise. I like the funk but some of those songs were a little too funky. Would be heat at the club though.
A very solid album, but not among my favorites from the Stones.
The title track is iconic, the rest of the album is meh.
I remember hearing hype around Bjork when I was a kid. I can't imagine it was for this album though. Too much of an ethereal vibe for me.
That was really unique. I didn't think it was great, but it was interesting. I'd take it over many other albums on this list (looking at you, Leonard Cohen).
Back in high school my buddy and I went to a bunch of Wailers concerts, their live shows are awesome. Once my mother grew suspicious of us and caught us trying to sneak some tequila before going to one of those concerts. She took the tequila, but still let us go to the show. And it was an incredible concert. Their recorded albums don't hit as much as the live shows, but this one really brought back some memories.
I'm teetering between a 3 and 4 for this one, which makes me lean towards 3. Towards the higher end of the other I rated a 3 though.
This one had a lot of heat. Cream brings it.
