130/1089 Based on title, cover, and artist name alone, i think this’ll be right up my street and the first song alone is giving me exactly what i was expecting/hoping! the dramatic set of violins that come in at the 8 minute mark are stunning Overall, i really enjoyed this album, I love this type of cusp-of-the-millennium, enlightened ethno-futuristic electronic music. The combination of traditional Indian elements with contemporary European dance music is so enchanting to me. I can definitely see this becoming part of my background chill music rotation. faves: Butterfly, Eclipse, Light, Traveller, Sutrix, Vikram the Vampire, OK 79/100

222/1089 This is such a bit of me, i love a bit of this type of Medieval folky music. Fairport Convention was a great discovery of mine earlier in this project and this scratches the same itch. faves: Light Flight, Once I Had a Sweetheart, Train Song, House Carpenter, Sally Go Round the Roses, The Cuckoo 83/100
26/1089 what an enigmatic way to start an album, love the vocal style and instrumentation. The dolphin-like vocals were a bit out of the blue but also weirdly really suited the song. Shameika was very groovy and fun. Fetch The Bolt Cutters, Under The Table and Relay is a strong stretch of songs The pacing is really good and interesting, it feels like she knows exactly when to change it up and how to change it up. Heavy Balloon really showcases this Cosmonauts had me in awe, what a stunning song, simultaneously sweet and relaxed but with a build I really really enjoyed this album and the way she plays with pacing and intensity, her voice is so rich and enthralling on top of some really full instrumentation. faves: Cosmonauts, Heavy Balloon, Newspaper, Fetch The Bolt Cutters least faves: Drumset, Rack of His, Shameika but they’re still good and will absolutely grow 5 stars for the second day in a row (93/100)
152/1089 i’m just not a metal fan really in general and thrash metal is no more accessible… That said i did enjoy some of the music, mainly bits with no vocals because the kind of vocal on this album just doesn’t resonate with me. faves: Desperate Cry (scott burns mix + original), C.I.U. 47/100
65/1089 read some reviews before listening describing this as Kate Bush/Alanis Morisette/Fiona Apple/Björk and i’m VERY happy that that was accurate, i thoroughly enjoyed listening to this one I will ABSOLUTELY be checking out the Deluxe edition with so many extra tracks 92/100 faves: Tear in Your Hand, Little Earthquakes, Crucify, Mother

this album has aged lmao musically kinda okay classic moody boy britfolkpop but i never need to hear these songs again i fear fave: First of the Gang to Die least fave: I Have Forgiven Jesus
not my type of music but let’s see… already know ‘wouldn’t it be nice’ ofc cute! really enjoyed the interlude/instrumental track actually, sloop john b too lowkey god only knows is a classic for a reason tbf
Oh THAT’S the blitzkrieg bop lol hey ho lets go not a huge fan of their style of vocals… some fun quick bops though glad i listened but idk just really not for me 45/100
some classic bangers on this one some tracks do overstay their welcome (when streaming which isn’t their ideal/intended listening situation tbf) Praise You is still amazing. Love Island is another fave
cool doomer vibe ig, title track was atmospheric. Like the parts with singing in The Wizard but not so much the harmonica sections. Warning is my favourite i think 50/100
yet another opening track i recognise from the first notes (but not the title) Tangerine>>>> Bron-Y-Aur Stomp is also great really enjoyed listening to this actually! some nice blues-y rock, and the bits that didn’t stand out per se were still great bg listening
yet another iconic song that i was not ready to hear bc i never knew the name omg “i said a hip hop a hippy…” maybe that was just a sample lol… some cool flows and samples/interpolation, definitely feels like the blueprint for a lot of later hip hop really like The What ft. Method Man and Juicy Respect is good too Album is dragging a little for me. usually i like longer songs/albums but i feel like i’m reaching my limit for one sitting/hip hop album some VERY questionable (read: misogynistic) lyrics and some skits didn’t hit
Album 8 of 1089 and i’ve found my first (previously unheard) 5⭐️ album 💖 this is such a bit of me, i already really liked the title track and Frozen. it captures the essence of chill pop/electronica/trip hop that really resonates with me and i can hear the way it’s influenced later projects that i love. i added every song to my spotify which is a big feat for me. i sometimes find Madonna’s voice a little off/it doesn’t always click but on this album it does 94/100 faves: Sky Fits Heaven, To Have and Not To Hold, Frozen least faves: skin and candy perfume girl if i had to pick
not particularly my style, kinda annoying. Appreciate the concept though and am fully willing to concede that my lack of love for it is completely due to my taste and era rather than this album’s shortcomings Tattoo was kinda alright actually The radio concept is kinda saving it for me ngl, i love when albums have a thought out flow/story. i’d prefer the interludes/skits were separated from the regular songs though i can see for miles is nice but REPETITIVE “there goes mingy stingy” is a lyric 💀 that song went on for WAYYY too long sunrise is nice and a massive tonal shift after silas stingy not the Is**** song 💀 it feels like so many songs are extremely repetitive like just chants of the song title 25/100 i think my faves were Glow Girl, Melancholia and Tattoo least faves were Silas Stingy and the Raels
another album opener i didn’t know i’d know, it’s a classic tbf not feeling this one as much as III the style of guitar doesn’t do a lot for me, it was pleasant background music and had some nice moments but i don’t care much for it either way the plucky guitar in thank you is pretty good 3 stars or 66/100 faves Thank You and Bring it on home least faves idk maybe Living Loving Maid but i don’t dislike any songs, just unenthused
11/1089 starting off with the star spangled banner… hmmmm i’m not super against the talking/emceeing, it suits the cool and laid back vibe the trumpet(?) is a bit too squeaky for my tastes but the rest of the music underneath is soothing Pt. I - Festival Junction is a hit! i can appreciate the quality and skill in the genre (and i’m enjoying it as background music) but i’m not sure i need to revisit skin deep is another hit for me 3 stars or 51/100 even if it isn’t something i’ll listen to again i feel like it would be wrong of me to put it any lower because that mostly comes down to taste and to me 0-49 is negative, 50 neutral and 51+ positive. This doesn’t deserve a negative or neutral because i actually enjoyed having this on in the background it was undeniable quality, i just can’t give it much more simply because it’s not what i seek out
12/1089 i’ve already heard a couple of Skepta’s songs (love the one that samples sophie ellis bextor) maybe i like grime more than i thought?? Konnichiwa and Lyrics are great, Corn on the Curb too It Ain’t Safe is the first kinda miss for me it’s too repetitive imo Numbers is so catchy and so mid 2010s Pharrell That’s Not Me is a hit and JME is once again a great featured artist Konnichiwa, That’s Not Me and Numbers >>> It Ain’t Safe <<<< really enjoyed this listen and will probably return to a few tracks 4 stars or 78/100
“Scared to run out of time” Charli xcx sampled this?!?! went into it thinking i wouldn’t recognise anything so imagine my surprise to immediately hear the original “scared to run out of time” sampled in Charli XCX ft Bon Iver Nick Of Time was cuteee i enjoyed that, a great opener, love a chill fade out too The album was a lot of similar sounding music and blended together so it didn’t feel groundbreaking but also was a nice vibe to have on. It felt like i was listening to the soundtrack of a classic 90s/00s romcom some will argue this shouldn’t be here and in some ways i agree (it’s not necessarily innovative) however it’s a pretty great example of it’s genre/style and i’d personally keep it in over some artists that got like 3+ albums fave: i loved Nick of Time (maybe partly bc i recognised a charli xcx sample lol) least fave: can’t say i have one, there weren’t any duds imo, but the rest of the album did blend quite a bit 3 stars or 63/100
14/1089 harmonica can be very hit or miss for me* but i’m enjoying this angsty start, i can already see how it’s influenced artists i love like Chappell Roan and Olivia Rodrigo. Early Katy Perry too. I definitely know the chorus of You Oughtta Know and parts of it sound similar to cadences in My Number One by Helena Paparizou *it’s a hit on Hand In My Pocket Lots of learning going on Realising that Ironic is THAT song was a great feeling, what a smash hit also liked Wake Up, it reminded me of Lamb (Gorecki specifically) not sure the You Oughtta Know remix needed to be included it’s dated 90s alt rock in the absolute best way, i love albums that capture a very specific moment in the culture i’m thinking 82/100 with 5 stars because i had a great time and will definitely be going back to this faves: Ironic, Wake Up, Right Through You and You Learn least faves: Perfect, Mary Jane YOK remix
15/1089 Ole Man Trouble was a great opener, Otis’ voice is beautiful. It has a very easy listening vibe to it. It’s interesting hearing the original version of Respect (having not previously known about it) naturally his voice sounds amazing on it Wow A Change Is Gonna Come got me teary, i’m not sure if i’ve heard this rendition before but it’s stunning. I’ve Been Loving You Too Long was very passionate and a nice listen his version of Satisfaction was a lot of fun and very energetic You Don’t Miss Your Water was a perfect ending, a really beautiful relaxed way to top of the album overall i really enjoyed listening to this. however, i find it hard to judge it knowing that the majority of these are covers and not original to Redding. That said, they were mostly really nice interpretations. I fully appreciate artists including covers and renditions of songs that are important to them/their record and these were very well incorporated, I just generally prefer original songs when i’m listening to the album of an artist who is new to me faves: A Change Is Gonna Come, You Don’t Miss Your Water least faves: Rock Me Baby, Wonderful World 3 stars or 61/100 i really liked this album and will likely revisit my favourites but it isn’t necessarily my taste as a whole
16/1089 She’s Fresh is an extremely fun opening track and feels like a very distilled version of 80s hip hop listening to this in 2025 really feels like i’m listening to a time capsule of a specific moment in music and it still sounds cool, dated in an unapologetic way which makes for a great listen It’s a Shame is a highlight so far for me i think. i love the outro loop Dreamin’ is a really nice change of pace, with some really lovely vocals and instrumentation. there are moments in here that feel very influential and that i’ve heard paid homage to in music i love THIS is The Message?! okayyy i love this and wasn’t expecting it to be on this album. The Message II is also really great i’ve loved listening to this project and i really didn’t know that i would. it manages to be dated but also sound fresh (at least taking into account it’s era) 4 stars or 81/100 faves: The Message II, The Message and Dreamin’ least fave: You Are (and i think it mostly just suffered from coming after Dreamin’ which has a similar vibe but better)
17/1089 it’s started off with some fun and catchy punky style, very easy and enjoyable to listen to so far I don’t have much to add, i’m still enjoying listening but the first song was definitely the stand out to me, the rest have merged a bit. Drugs and Dancing for Money aren’t my cup of tea i don’t think, they’re verging on irritating to me. though i sipposed that makes sense for Dancing For Money since that’s an unfinished outtake I didn’t listen to the last 3 tracks of the deluxe since they were just alt versions of a few of the songs fave: I Kimbra clears the rest of the album i really like that track least faves: Drugs and Dancing For Money 3 stars or 62/100
18/1089 i fear this is gonna be a dud for me, this just is NOT my style at all. Rise and Fall is is a decent song and i like it as an album opener Blue Skinned Beast was fine and i vibed with that one a bit. Tomorrow’s…, Primrose Hill and Mr Speaker aren’t for me i’m now realising that my issue with Our House is purely the chorus, i do quite enjoy the verses but the chorus just really grates on me the rest of the album was fine but it kind of merged together, nothing stood out majorly. 2 stars or 47/100 I’m trying to add a little objectivity to my taste so i feel like this is a fair rating. i am just really not a fan of this style vocally, instrumentally or lyrically. However i’m trying to reserve 1 stars/really low scores for albums that i actually struggle through and this one wasn’t too hard a listen in the end. I can sort of see the appeal. fave: Rise and Fall probably least fave: Mr Speaker
19/1089 a very relaxed and warm vibe, can’t say it’s my thing yet but it’s a nice change of pace. i dont really have the knowledge/framework to understand this music fully or pick out what parts i like in detail but it’s a pleasant listen and is something i’d enjoy as part of a soundtrack Maseru is fast becoming a stand out for me as is Inner Crisis, both of those were really great listens and definitely stood out The ending of Maesha is pretty magical i like that Ingoo Pow-Pow feels like an epilogue almost with the vocalising etc it’s a nice unwind/release after the rest of the album faves: Inner Crisis, Maseru no least faves 3 stars or 61/100
20/1089 World in my eyes is a great moody opener i knew that i knew at least one Depeche Mode song i just couldn’t place/name it, turns out it was Personal Jesus naturally, maybe i’ve only heard the single version or covers but i really enjoy the album version Halo is a great track, especially as a follow up to Personal Jesus. The production is really doing it for me and the vocals blend in so nicely and cleanly Waiting for the Night to Fall has a very understated but persistent feel akin to Low Roar which i really appreciate I’ve also heard Enjoy The Silence before naturally but never knew the name/artist, I can understand it’s popularity, it’s a great track Policy of Truth and Clean are 2 more great tracks. I think i’ve found my third 5 star album on this list! faves: Halo, World in my Eyes, Policy of Truth least faves: Blue Dress, Sweetest Perfection 5 stars or 90/100
21/1089 Can’t say that this is my cup of tea, his vocal style isn’t really for me and I can’t say I relate a lot to the vibe Badlands and Adam Raised a Cain really didn’t do much for me, I can’t say sort of see the appeal if this is your style i guess, it’s not “bad” necessarily Something in the Night was decent as a rocky power ballad, his voice suited the sound for me in that song the rest of the album just kind of went by. I appreciate the artistry but it’s dated in the wrong way for me fave: Something In The Night i guess least fave: Adam Raised a Cain 1 star or 35/100
22/1089 my first non-english language album in this challenge and it’s also a language i’m unfamiliar with! Generally i’m really not into religious/faith-based music but since i don’t understand the lyrics i can probably get around that. Since Spotify only lists the dual album ‘Love and Devotion’ I’m going to listen to the Devotional Songs first and only rate them but I’ll probably go back and listen to the Love Songs too from the opening strings I can tell that i’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy this one. Allah Hoo Allah Hoo had a really nice consistent rhythm and pace, i love his vocal style. I could definitely see myself adding this to my ‘background music to read to’ collection. Yaad-E-Nabi Gulshan Mehka has such a beautiful sound and vibe to it Haq Ali Ali Haq was a really good listen, and i like the intensity of Ali Maula Ali Maula Ali Dam Dam i’m such a sucker for the deep, thumpy drums common in south/south east asian music, especially with some plucky strings over the top This was a really nice and interesting listen, I know the list overall is pretty english-/west-centric but this is exactly the sort of thing I want to be discovering. faves: Haq Ali Ali Haq, Mast Nazroon Se Allah Bachhae least faves: Ne Main Jana Jogi De Naal if i had to choose, it had some really nice parts but clicked the least sonically. 4 stars or
23/1089 - birthday album ☺️😅 really enjoying his vocals, the reverb on it with the instrumentals is so atmospheric. The Lana Del Rey fan in me is loving these first couple songs. The Stranger Song is great, the rapid guitar plucking in the background works so well will his deep voice and rambly lyrics over the top not a fan of the clock/creaking sounds in Sisters of Mercy but the guitar and Cohen himself sound good Teachers has a very nervous and unsettled energy which is enthralling This being a debut album is pretty wild, it doesn’t have that feeling at all in a positive way That was a pretty magical project and i can hear the influence it’s had on artists I adore like Lana etc the only reason it’s 4 stars and not 5 is that it had a section of songs from Sisters of Mercy to Stories of the Street that didn’t stand out/click to me faves: The Stranger Song, Teachers, Suzanne least fave: Sisters of Mercy 4 stars or 81/100
24/1089 Love the feeling of pressing play on one of these albums and immediately hearing some music you’ve heard before that you never knew the title/artist of, this album is no different i guess Do It Again is a solid and stylish start to the album, with a nice progression and vibey sound instantly not a huge fan of the organ(?) on Dirty Work. While Do It Again managed to feel pretty timeless, Dirty Work felt very dated to me after a solid start this project lost me for a bit, Reelin’ In The Years brought me back a bit though, it’s a fun song and the combination of vocals and instrumentation clicks for me. Not a fan of the piano in Fire In The Hole. I do like the vocals on this chorus a lot the rest of the album didn’t really do it for me, felt quite same-y and when that same-y isn’t a style i love it just doesn’t resonate 2 stars or 40/100 Do It Again and Reelin’ In The Years saved it from being a 1 star
25/1089 I’ve wanted to listen through Björk’s music for a long time, so this’ll be an interesting first album Pretty sure i’m gonna be on the side for whom her music properly clicks, Pleasure Is All Mine is a stunning way to start an album I can really hear where Empress Of takes inspiration from in Where is the Line, that song was such a satisfying listen Vokuro was captivating, i adore the icelandic language a lot and it fits this sound so well. I got pretty absorbed in the project, the techniques she uses and the way she manipulates her voice for the music is so impressive. Oceania and Submarine were some highlights Mouth’s Cradle is magnificent and feels almost like the centrepiece of the project. Mikvikudags and Triumph Of A Heart really feel like an epilogue and a release, thelatter especially just had me grinning what a stylish and addictive song. This was an album that I really wanted to like going into it but i was fully prepared for the possibility i’d hate it, but I didn’t need to worry because i love this 5 stars or 95/100 faves: Triumph of a Heart, Mouth’s Cradle, Submarine least faves: don’t have any
26/1089 what an enigmatic way to start an album, love the vocal style and instrumentation.
27/1089 I’ve heard this artist before thanks to Me Gustas Tu, but i can’t place where i heard that originally and it’s driving me crazy. Clandestino is a captivating start and the flow into the second track was so smooth. one of my favourite things to hear in an album the production on Bongo Bong is really infectious and his voice compliments it so much. very Gorillaz and the way it flows into je ne t’aime plus is wild. Mama Call really reminds me of ZABA by Glass Animals which i love. I quite like it having short songs but still a good overall length, it gives it a really exciting pacing and none of the songs grow old before they finish. Welcome to Tijuana was fun but a little too repetitive for me. Malegria is a fun pick up of the pace, the production once again is super catchy and the effects on his vocals are cool and stylish La Despedida almost feels like the precursor to Me Gustas Tu, a very well crafted penultimate song This album was a joy to listen to from start to finish, I will absolutely be returning to it. faves: Bongo Bong, Desaparacido, La Despedida, Malegría, Mama Call least faves: I liked them all but if i had to choose then Minha Galera has to be 5 stars (94/100)
28/1089 feels a bit unfortunate that I got this album of his first, it’s neither one of his iconic early projects nor is it Blackstar which overshadowed this one. it’s a pretty classic alt rocky style, the production is decent and his voice is unmistakable, so it’s an interesting listen, but the songs aren’t showstopping (so far) in the way that his classics are. Valentine’s Day and If You Can See Me are stand outs for me, definitely enjoyed those. It’s a solid record which i think i’d appreciate more if i’d heard his prior work and had heard this at release. 3 stars or 62/100
29/1089 Dirty Boots is a fun and edgy rock n roll moment to introduce the album. Really loving the style of Tunic, her non chalant vocals over the intense guitarring is really cool. i love when songs are given space to breathe and become almost ambient and Mote is a good example of that. I think i need a second listen at some point to get the second half of the album properly because it started to merge but i really enjoyed listening to this one faves: Tunic, Dirty Boots, Cinderella Big Score least faves: Scooter & Jinx 4 stars 72/100
30/1089 - first album i’ve heard in full previously (and the version with the british release bonus tracks) Laura is SUCH a good song and is so impactful as an opener. take your mama flowing into comfortably numb was soo smooth the production and vocals on Mary are so dreamy at times, very nostalgic some outdated wording on tits on the radio but their hearts are in the right place and it’s groovy filthy/gorgeous is a CLASSIC, what a perfect song It Can’t Come Quickly Enough has a different vibe and intensity to it but i really enjoy that about it Return to Oz is an excellent closer to the standard album and Message from Ms. Matronic is such a fun way to segue into the bonus tracks, classic scissor sisters. Get It Get It is a great track and would’ve made a great addition to the standard album. 5 stars or 89/100
31/1089 hearing his young(er) voice was a bit of a shock, but it’s so smooth and relaxing stardust was a really nice introduction. very sleepy but not in a bad way necessarily. I may or may not have heard Georgia On My Mind before but I’ve definitely heard reference to it in other songs. I’m not a harmonica fan generally and that song didn’t change that. Blue Skies was sweet and jazzy, the harmonica worked better there for me his version of Unchained Melody is pretty great This album was so calm and nice to listen to, it’s not something i expect to go back to (maybe when i next get a willie nelson album on this list because there must be more here) but i’m glad i heard it. this one’s hard to rate because of the style and the consistency across the tracks (no one track stands greatly over the others) fave: Stardust least fave: Don’t Get Around Much Anymore but i’m thinking 3 stars or 61/100
32/1089 knew i must know at least something from this album and lo and behold, i knew the first song from the first notes title track is iconic of course, though i suspect i’ll appreciate the album but not necessarily love it Jimmy Jazz took an unexpected turn but i appreciate that about this project even if it’s not my style the nest songs were decent but not jumping out to me but then Lost In The Supermarket came on and i really like this vibe for them! The album is solid and i think is a great example of it’s genre etc, a lot of it just sort of blurred together since it’s not a style i’m hugely into or knowledgeable of. Glad i listened though and can see myself returning to it faves: Lost in the Supermarket and Train in Vain least faves: couldn’t say 2 stars or 55/100
33/1089 solid start, if repetitive Just What I Needed is pretty great (and familiar) this record was a great listen, loved that it’s not super long either, it felt very swift and easy to listen to, every song felt essential to the album 4 stars 75/100 faves: Just What I Needed, Moving In Stereo, All Mixed Up least faves: Good Times Roll (though it’s grown on me a little
34/1089 Natural Mystic is a cool opening track and The Heathen is another strong one. Turn Your Lights Down Low is a nice vibe. How did i not know/remember that Don’t Worry, Be Happy is actually called ‘Three Little Birds’? it’s a classic for a reason, such a nice listen it’s a really nice reggae album and has some highlights but isn’t one i will necessarily return to in full. faves: natural mystic, the heathen, three little birds least fave: exodus and jammin maybe? just didn’t quite click 3 stars or 54/100
35/1089 Changes is a perfect pop song, i’m still a bit biased towards the Shrek version though. Oh you pretty things is also v familiar and a classic. Life on Mars? is just too good, Jessica Lange’s rendition on American Horror Story will always stick with me but it’s really an iconic song and concept Fill Your Heart really isn’t clicking i just found it mostly irritating it’s a cool album and i prefer it over The Next Day which is the other Bowie project i’ve heard in full but i feel like Changes, Life on Mars and Oh You Pretty Things set a high standard that the rest of the album struggled to keep up with a little faves: Changes, Life on Mars?, The Bewlay Brothers least faves: Fill Your Heart, Eight Line Poem 4 stars 71/100
36/1089 The plucky guitar and campfire vibes at the end of a soldier’s tale is very sweet i enjoyed that part This is a good listen, it’s technically decent and pleasant to have on but i feel like i’d appreciate it more if it wasn’t in this list (that said i probably wouldn’t have listened to it that way to be fair) quite enjoyed the extended and increasingly chaotic outro to the album, it feels like the project was slowly building to this release and they succeeded in capturing that feeling not sure how to feel about this one, it wasn’t incredible, it also wasn’t bad, there were a few standouts but the rest were completely forgettable to me faves: Green Fields, Herculean and A Soldier’s Tale, TGTBATQ least faves: none that stood out 3 stars or 64/100
37/1089 it’s a nice chill vibe that i find very easy to listen to, it’s very reminiscent of 60s folky music and that’s the era i’d probably have guessed it to be from if i didn’t know Electronic Renaissance and I Could Be Dreaming are the clear standouts to me, they are the two that feel like they most elevate the style to a new level 3 stars or 71/100
38/1089 from the 1001 albums generator feels “lighter” than their debut or less doomer and more upbeat? The first track is a fun listen, especially the second half/The Straightener Tomorrow’s Dream was good and Changes was a nice change of pace, i’m already preferring this over their debut i think FX didn’t do anything for me but i appreciate the intent Supernaut was great instrumentally, i tend to prefer music that’s more lyrical but putting that aside i really liked that one. Snowblind is a great followup Laguna Sunrise almost feels out of place but it’s also a really considerate respite and well placed the final track is great but i especially love the instrumental second half/Every Day Comes and Goes. It’s so stylish and atmospheric 4 stars or 72/100
39/1089 i know the title track of course, this first track is definitely familiar too. Karen’s voice is very distinct and reminds me a lot of Weyes Blood, an artist I really like. not the biggest fan of his voice/the production of it it’s very pleasant and twee but it’s not really hooking me. Close To You does naturally feel like the clear stand out Baby it’s You is my definite favourite so far, it felt the most timeless and least dated i think hearing the flute on Mr Guder and realising i’ve heard the song before in the form of Mama’s Gun by Glass Animals was a fun revelation the “jam session” style at the end of Another Song was pretty cool overall this album was decent and fine background music but not one i’ll go back to really besides mybe my faves faves: Baby It’s You and Mr. Guder least faves: can’t pick one out 3 stars
40/1089 instant 5 stars i’ve loved this album since release and it’s been one of my favourites since then too. Hearing Green Light for the first time as the lead single was a magical moment for me the pacing, the writing, the production it all hits so well and lorde being the same age as me means that her music will always feel very aligned with how i’m feeling and growing every song is just so beautifully realised, my highlights are: Green Light, Hard Feelings/Loveless and Perfect Places 5 stars and 100/100 is all i can give it
41/1089 second Morrissey album, and hopefully the last… he has a very obnoxious, self-important vibe and sound. And coming into these albums knowing his reputation hasn’t made it easier to withstand these for sure. The repeated percussive sound in Little Man, What Now is very annoying and overstimulating. He’s voice is the epitome of what i consider cringey, try-hard middle aged man music. Maybe it’s the over-pronounced style or “faux”-aloofness Bengali in Platforms is crazy… the gall… Maudlin street has a kinda nice instrumental part towards the end one saving grace being him asking when will the wicked witch die on the final track lmao 1 star (10/100) no faves and Bengali in Platforms is the definite least fave (but none are great imo)
42/1089 i’ve wanted to get into NIN for a while since they’ve worked on other albums/projects i’m a fan of a chaotic start as expected, a bit overstimulating but cool Heresy is giving me Hatari - Hatrið mun sigra vibes March of the Pigs is the fave so far, so interesting but also has moments of reprieve that are more accessible, Closer too A Warm Place is an extremely well placed and produced instrumental track. almost a record highlight for me and i love a good transition, and Eraser is mostly instrumental until the end, love that The title track is a great culmination of everything that came before it and Hurt is a pretty stunning way to send it off I loved and disliked this album. The concept and production is cool and so interesting, i saved 6/14 songs but also naturally it’s very intense and tough to process. really not sure how to rate this, a 3 seems right based on how likely i am to return to it but also seems too low for what it deserves 4 stars or 74/100 faves: A Warm Place, Eraser, Closer and Hurt least faves: Big Man With a Gun and Ruiner
43/1089 the start is so groovy i’m hooked already i don’t have many thoughts to add about this one. It was really nice and easy listening and the music all flowed very well. i’m not well-versed enough with salsa to comment properly on the techniques or pick out influential parts that said, it didn’t feel monotonous and i’m glad i heard it. It’s certainly very evocative of a specific time/space 3 stars or 56/100
44/1089 some chamber folky electro vibes, i’m enjoying this one, it reminds me a lot of Gwenno Slow Motion is a great track and enough for me to consider this album worth hearing even if the rest of the songs aren’t amazing Having Ravenspoint as the penultimate track then ending on the energetic release of I Wish is GREAT tracklisting, and the fact that it ends with an inverse of the beginning synth so it loops, love that i need a second listen to grasp my thought properly but this is right up my alley. Idk what other examples of this specific style/sound are on this list but this is a stellar representation of it and i’m glad it’s here. 4 stars or 81/100 faves: Slow Motion, I Wish, H>A>K
45/1089 instantly recognisable with You Make Me Feel So Young putting this on in the background while i cook was the perfect decision, it’s so smooth and naturally his voice is stunning this album is the perfect example for why i’m doing this because even though i may not listen to it again due to taste, it’s such quality and actually was amazing for the context i listened to it in (cooking tea) also discovering Sinatra has a song called “Makin’ Whoopee” was so worth it 3 stars or 65/100 (i could definitely use it as a cooking album again) faves: Anything Goes (duh!) Too Marvelous For Words and You Make Me Feel So Young
46/1089 This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us and i’ll be the one to leave… 💀 really not a fan of this type of singing/cadence personally but i’ll appreciate it where i can The album just isn’t for me, seeing past personal taste i can understand why people love/like this but I just couldn’t get into it. Barbecutie, however, was a decent one that i enjoyed (perhaps because it had the least falsetto in it) 1 star or 18/100
47/1089 aspects of this feel like a precursor to Sufan Stevens. It’s a very pleasant album, i think i prefer it over Tigermilk, it’s just relaxed vibes. However the vocal style can feel very monotone and almost too put on which is jarring for me sometimes. faves: Me and the Major, Get Me Away from Here, I’m Dying and If You’re Feeling Sinister I wish they’d dug more into the style of Electronic Renaissance from Tigermilk with this project but instead they seemingly ditched it completely unfortunately 3 stars or 61/100
48/1089 actually quite enjoyed this even though i consider The Beatles not really my taste based on the singles and hits i’ve heard. I went into it thinking “at least i’ll like Eleanor Rigby” but ended up with a few others that i think i’ll return to. faves: Eleanor Rigby, Love You To, She Said She Said, Got To Get You Into My Life least faves: Yellow Submarine, Good Day Sunshine 3 stars or 65/100
49/1089 bittersweet symphony is just so good, and starting an album with those strings is very impactful, and then sonnet really stalls the project The Drugd Dont Work is a really nice more introspective sound and style that suits them. Catching The Butterfly is a cool, psychedelic moment which is definitely one of my favourites, it has a very classic sound but not in a dated way Space and Time is another solid track, with some psychedelic influence in the back. Lucky Man is also very well produced and performed not a fan of the final/hidden track having a very long stretch of silence followed by a baby crying overall i enjoyed this project a lot, I’m pleasantly surprised in a way but also not totally sure why because Bittersweet Symphony set a good precedent faves: Bittersweet Symphony ofc, Lucky Man, Space and Time, Catching The Butterfly least faves: Sonnet and the second half of Come On/Deep Freeze overall 4 stars or 73/100
50/1089 one of my all-time faves. instant 5 stars It just exemplifies everything i love about music, the pop-y Hounds of Love Side A with some massive hits and the conceptual Ninth Wave Side B with the more experimental sound and narrative woven through. it’s extremely well paced and produced and fully took advantage of it’s format. I will always remember hearing Running Up That Hill for the first time watching the London Olympics closing ceremony but i will also always remember how it felt to hear this album in full years later, especially my favourites. faves: Cloudbusting - what a stunning song, i still get goosebumps, the progression with the strings and her vocals will always get me Jig Of Life - The most unexpected sound on the album but it’s perfect, the intensity, the ebb and flow just a gorgeous work of musicianship which brings the Ninth Wave storyline to a climax incredibly Running Up That Hill - a classic, timeless, need I say more… 5 stars or 100/100
51/1089 he’s got a nice voice but it’s really not my style especially with it going down the christian country route on Lo and Behold really wasn’t very enamoured by this one, as i said his voice is good and shines occasionally but just isn’t utilised in a way i love for most of this album. highlight was Oh Baby, Don’t You Loose Your Lip on Me but it was way too short and the only song of it’s style 1 star or 15/100
52/1089 Turkish song of the damned is a banger, Fairytale of New York needs no explanation. Metropolis however is a really fun instrumental track to follow that up Thousands are Sailing is a potential favourite, the instrumental break towards the end of the song is exactly what i love to hear Fiesta sounds so familiar at times, the main trumpet-y motif at least, it’s so playful, i love the fake out near the end, mimicking the slow start 4 stars or 78/100 i really enjoyed this one, i find the style of singing etc a little tiring to listen to at times over the course of the hour long album but the instrumental tracks and joyous vibe is really infectious and breaks that up very well. I will definitely return to this one faves: Thousands are Sailing, Medley: The Recruiting Sergeant…, Turkish Song of the Damned, Fairytale of New York
53/1089 going from the very atmospheric start immediately into the arpeggiated synth was so jarring. i see the vision but it could’ve been done better A Hazy Shade of Random has some specific euphoric elements that stood out to me The Monkey King was a definite highlight for me, it felt like it had found a perfect balance of styles, and stood out from the rest for it This was a really fun time capsule for the 90s-00s electronic vibey style, it would fit in perfectly as part of the Tomb Raider soundtrack or any number of things from that era 3 stars or 64/100 faves: The Monkey King, Deus Ex Machina, A Hazy Shade of Random
54/1089 This isn’t for me, especially because of the vocal styling, i’m really not a fan of when it feels like a singer sounds like they’re forcing their voice to sound “quirky” or kinda warbly and deepened, which is already quite prominent on The Occasional Flicker The instrumentation is fine though, i could see myself enjoying that more with a different vocal. I love the conversational start of This Is What She’s Like but it would be better if it were turned up a little. i like the change ups for the second half of This is what she’s like One of Those Things is a classic and an easy standout, it has such an easy going vibe and the chatting over the music is pretty effective here 2 stars or 48/100 it’s a fine album not to my tastes, the score would move up to a 3 star if it had vocals that i found less irritating
55/1089 dated but not in the fun, endearing way that The Message was. That album was cool and nicely produced, this, however, doesn’t sound good in 2025 as much as it may have been influential at the time Go Go Pop was the best of the bunch 1 star or 16/100
56/1089 A really solid jazzy debut, her voice and style was undeniable. It flows quite nicely and makes for good background music but only a few songs stood out to me specifically… In My Bed What Is It About Men Amy Amy Amy 3 stars or 66/100
57/1089 started the first song and instantly loved the vibe, this is a bit of me. Then it flowed into the next song, so i’m hooked I can understand maybe why some don’t see this as a ‘must listen’ but i’m glad the curator of the list thought so because this is a gem that i’ve really enjoyed my time with. It has such a nice and familiar atmosphere that i find endearing, I love having some instrumental tracks to tie songs and feelings together I’ll definitely be returning to this. It’s missing the little extra bit that tips it into 5 stars for me so: 4 stars or 77/100 faves: The Shining, Another Pearl, Magic In The Air, Cause a Rockslide, Pissing in the Wind and Disillusion
58/1089 I don’t have super in-depth thoughts on how to critique this album but it was a pretty enjoyable rock/jazz/souls fusion album and a had a good time listening to it. It scratched the same itch that a lot of Haim songs (like ‘Summer Girl’) do. faves: This Ain’t Living, Walk To Slide 3 stars or 64/100
59/1089 This was a cute live jazz album and it was nice to have on in the background but it didn’t really stand out to me. Her voice is great, i love the relaxed and easy-going vibe but it feels like something that works best in context not through streaming, unfortunately. 2 stars or 38/100
60/1089 a cool, moody live set which was well performed and atmospheric. I had a good time listening to this one, even if i felt a little underwhelmed because i expected a bit more. 3 stars or 61/100 faves: Come As You Are, Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam, All Apologies
61/1089 I was anticipating not really enjoying this but was pleasantly surprised. It had a great atmosphere and quality to it, it didn’t feel dated in terms of the production. Instead it felt like it held up, the second half in particular. faves: That’s All You Need, Too Bad, Debris 3 stars or /100
62/1089 Couldn’t really get into this one. It felt quite underwhelming especially for punk. the songs individually didn’t really stand out to me and the vocals didn’t save it for me either unfortunately 1 star
63/1089 This was a fine album. Nothing really grabbed me or excited me but it was solid and a decent listen. it could be one that i revisit and enjoy more in a slightly different mood/context (particularly since my run on 1001 currently has been a bit samey) i think southern rock just doesn’t resonate with me… 2 stars or 23/100
64/1089 instant Morrissey discussion uh ohhh. Viva Hate too 💀 first song was a dud but Winding Wheel was nice enough. The rest of the album was a massive drag for me and just not my taste in the slightest 19/100
66/1089 Scentless Apprentice was too much for me, i can see the appeal, especially live but i’m jus not into that. Heart-Shaped Box is iconiccc though the beeping in Radio Friendly… was awful which is a shame because i quite liked the song other than that
67/1089 a solid britpop/rocky album, maybe not as good as Urban Hymns but it was a decent listen faves: So It Goes, Drive You Home and (Reprise)
68/1089 trying to listen as objectively as possible despite Ye’s actions and reputation… All Of The Lights and it’s interlude are great, Power of course too. Lost In The World is pretty inspired work, especially the Bon Iver feature The album is undeniably strong, the production and musical choices are very good and the album feels varied, intense and purposeful in it’s craft. hearing early Nicki and Rihanna in there is fun. it just feels tainted by the fact that Ye is no longer this person… faves: Lost in the world, All of the lights + interlude, POWER 4 stars or /100
69/1089 really chill, moody indie vibe that really feels like the precursor to Life Is Strange’s music choices which i love. I quite like this album and will probably return to it, but it’s missing a little *something* that i can’t pinpoint so… low 4 stars or 71/100 faves: Angeles, Between the Bars
70/1089 Whether the rest of the album holds up or not, I Wanna Be Adored is VERY much my speed, i’m so pleasantly surprised, it has that dreamy reverby vibe that i love in britpoprocky music I got quite engrossed in this record and was very pleasantly surprised, just a very solid britrock record where the singer’s vocals and the psychedelic style are right up my alley. I am the Resurrection is a great musical odyssey to end this album on. Then into the instantly recognisable bonus track Fools Gold which is so groovy and a great epilogue and is almost 10 minutes long?! Parts towards the end of FG very much remind me of the Tomb Raider Legend soundtrack (Peru/Kazakhstan motorbike sections IYKYK) 4 stars or 80/100 faves: I Wanna Be Adored, I Am the Resurrection, Fools Gold, Made of Stone, This is the One
71/1089 a very intense, folky album. Which was cool and atmospheric for the most part but it went on a bit too long for me. I’m so here for the Kylie features though. faves: Where the Wild Roses Grow, Lovely Creature, Song of Joy 3 stars or 62/100
72/1089 2 hours and 13 minutes?? 😭 bit of an intense first full Metallica album to experience lmao It’s decent, cool rock and i do enjoy the live and symphonic aspect of it, it’s potentially an album i would appreciate better if i came back to it having listened to the regular albums i enjoyed my time with this project, it’s probably on the edge of what i would enjoy about rock/metal, the orchestra definitely tied it together nicely for me but the atmosphere and showmanship etc was really solid. faves: No Leaf Clover, One, Sad But True, Enter Sandman, Wherever I May Roam, Until It Sleeps, Hero Of The Day 3 stars or 68/100
73/1089 6 songs in and i recognise Get It On of course, definitely the best so far i think. it was a fine album but just really not for me, it all blended together and didn’t speak to me personally. This style isn’t my kind of music and there are much better examples of it 2 stars or 21/100
74/1089 i quite enjoyed listening through this project and realising that i already know/have heard every other song on it. it helps that the music is good too of course. the album is solid throughout and even with so many hits, no track feels subpar 76/100 faves: Don’t Look Back I. Anger, Hey Now, Swamp Song (both), Morning Glory
75/1089 Blues was broken i guess… it just really does not resonate with me unfortunately, already as part of the 1001 albums project i’ve heard blues music that is better to me as a non-blues listener no stand out tracks for me either way sadly 13/100
76/1089 Nina’s voice and presence is so captivating, and made this a really nice and interesting listen. it’ll take more listens for it to potentially click with me because it’s not my preferred genre etc but i look forward to returning to it. 61/100 faves: Wild is the Wind, Why Keep On Breaking My Heart
77/1089 I really enjoyed listening to this album, the 40mins flew by, probably because it’s only 5 tracks and 2 of them take up over half of the run time but it was a very cool listen and i’ll definitely be coming back to it I have a growing fondness for prog as a style of music and love when songs are given the space to grow and evolve, so this was very much in my interests, i look forward to getting more Pink Floyd from this generator faves: Wish You Were Here, Welcome To The Machine 4 stars
78/1089 This album isn’t bad, it serves it’s purpose, the instrumentation, vocals and lyrics are cool enough but just don’t stand out to me. Maybe listening to this genre as full albums rather than singles isn’t the best form for me. That said, i liked that it said what it needed to and keep it short and sweet 24/100
79/1089 terrorised by morrissey once again…this was better than Viva Hate at least but still not my thing at all really. His attitude and vocals grate on me Seasick, yet Still Docked and Tomorrow were alright
80/1089 Not what i expected, based on the name alone i expected some britpop/rock so was pleasantly surprised to get some vibey elctronic trip hop some really nice vocals production and flows on this album that i’m keen to return to. faves: Daydreaming, Unfinished Symphony, Blue Lines, Safe From Harm 4 stars or 71/100
81/1089 pretty intense and not my style but interesting, the second half of Dracula Mountain is really great though. Having that particular riff/motif break through the noise was really impactful this was an odd and interesting one, obviously this was made for live shows etc but even so i enjoyed it more than expected, i probably won’t return to it but sometimes it’s fun to have some full-on noise in the background to focus too and this does that. faves: Dracula Mountain, On Fire, 30,000 Monkies 3 stars
82/1089 not bad but also not particularly inspiring or groundbreaking for me either. i enjoyed my time with it enough but don’t need to go back to it 47/100
83/1089 having listened to one album each from Oasis and Blur (Morning Glory and Blur respectively) i think i can say that i’m team Oasis. I think Blue has some cool moments and maybe higher heights in some ways but as a whole Morning Glory is far superior. i found that a lot of these songs sort of blended together and weren’t what i was expecting/hoping for from Blur Essex Dogs was a really cool track to end on, very vibes-based and prog, i wish more of the album had given me this kind of experimentation faves: Song 2 of course, Essex Dogs, Movin’ On, Death of a Party 62/100
84/1089 pressing play on this album and hearing young elton rather than the older elton that i recognise more was a bit of an odd (but expected) experience didn’t expect for the album to open with an 11 minute prog rock song but it worked! it’s been a good listen, more so than maybe i expected. I personally would cut Dirty Little Girl, All the Girls Love Alice and Your Sister Can’t Twist, partly because i don’t love those songs but also to shorten the project a little 70/100 faves: funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding, this song has no title, i’ve seen that movie too, ballad of danny bailey, saturday nights alright
85/1089 loving this, it’s such a bit of me so far I added 8/10 songs to my liked songs list. this was such a pleasure to listen to, and really felt timeless, Sandy’s vocals are so striking and really complete the sound. I think the final song is good but a bit too slow/dithering in a way, the energy peters out a bit, i think it could have been given a slightly different tone and would’ve been a great send off. Otherwise this is just some really solid British folk music 85/100
86/1089 this was a really nice, laid back listen and is a good example of why i wanted to do this challenge, i wouldn’t have discovered this on my own. i could definitely see myself incorporating this into a relaxing playlist or for while i’m reading, just good vibes, nice instrumentation and vocals. faves: Pitche Mi, Taaw 62/100
87/1089 another really interesting and impactful afrobeats album, i liked all 4 tracks, all felt very well paced considering their length. The instrumentals, vocals and intentions were all really well put together 4 stars
88/1089 This album is decent, i can see the appeal and Ace of Spades is a clear standout. However, the songs all sound extremely similar to my ear and i’m not a huge fan of the vocal style (though the guitarring is solid) Jailbait is absolutely abysmal though 22/100
89/1089 Really solid afrobeats album, perhaps not the absolute best and it sounded a little dated at times but i enjoyed my time with it nonetheless fave: Daniibe 56/100
90/1089 a decent, slightly dated rock album. it didn’t overstay it’s welcome and the guitarring was satisfying to listen to. Sweet Emotion was the obvious stand out along with Walk This Way, i also quite liked Uncle Salty 64/100
91/1089 the enunciation isn’t the clearest but that isn’t stopping me from vibing with this project, some really ethereal and cathartic synthy production here that i greatly appreciate 5 stars or 83/100
92/1089 love the one you’re with is certainly a way to set the tone of an album… musically it’s alright but not something i’m interested in. Do for the Others is more my style, quite rich and more folky sounding it’s a decent singer-songwritery album, with some moments that are pretty nice but on the whole just didn’t grab my interest fully faves: Do for the Others, Old Times Good Times 55/100
93/1089 Death On Two Legs is a good opener, i really enjoyed that as the way to intro the album. I’m In Love With My Car is… a choice. You’re My Best Friend is nice but it’s been a bit ruined by it being overused in adverts etc i think this album suffers from a case of “single so good, the rest of the album just can’t quite compare” Bohemian Rhapsody is just *too* iconic and interesting that the other songs feel underwhelming by comparison faves: BR of course, The Prophet’s Song, Death On Two Legs least faves: I’m In Love With My Car, Seaside Rendezvous, Sweet Lady 69/100
94/1089 really enjoyed this album, just some cool fun electronica rock, very electronic britpop vibes. I do feel that it loses it’s steam after Us V Them which is what prevents it from being a 5 star album for me. New York… is a really interesting/odd way to end this album, on the one hand i think it’s a cool twist and change of sound, and standalone it’s decent but i also think the whiplash in style is a bit too much. correction: as i was writing this and relistening to New York… it actually clicked and now 5 stars seems like the only correct rating faves: All My Friends, Get Innocuous!, Us V Them least fave: Watch the Tapes 84/100
95/1089 Started off kinda well, i liked the first track and the next few were nice, if not my faves. Then Concrete and Barbed Wire comes along and immediately takes me out of it completely. The overly-affected southern accent was so off-putting and the vibe was killed for me so i liked the first song and last song (Right in Time and Jackson) otherwise all the songs blended together and were really not for me 2 stars 24/100
96/1089 Starlight is just so good and kinda euphoric which seems a little odd coming from Muse in a way. Supermassive Black Hole is iconic and creates such a strong moody atmosphere City of Delusion was a pleasant surprise. Some have issues with Muse at this time for being “edgy teen music” etc but this whole album just sounds so good that for me the lyrics are almost redundant, like maybe it’s a bit try hardy but it has to be and is worth it to sell the sound. Knights of Cydonia is a classic and was always a favourite of mine to play on Guitar Hero i thought i was set on this being a 4 star album based on the songs i knew and the sound i was familiar with but i think i can only give it a 5 faves: Starlight, City of Delusion, Supermassive Black Hole, Glorious 85/100
97/1089 a pretty cool angsty/grungy rock project. I really appreciate Love’s voice and how it’s incorporated very much like an instrument itself. I can see myself coming back to this and liking it more. faves: Jennifer’s Body, Violet, She Walks On Me, Softer, Softest, Rockstar, Doll Parts 67/100
98/1089 All Of My Friends Were There exemplifies what i really dislike about the style of singing in male-led british pop music from the 60s and indeed this album as a whole, it just really grates on me. Otherwise I don’t feel like i need to go into depth with my thoughts on this album. I appreciate that it’s of it’s era and contributed to concept albums as a thing but i just don’t gel with this style of (brit)pop. It’s elevated to 2 stars almost completely because of Big Sky, i liked that one enough to add it to my playlist for this project 22/100
99/1089 The sound reminds me in a way of some local west country sailor folk, so it’s interesting to hear a similar nostalgic sound come from australia i liked Murder Ballads but i was a little concerned to see 3 more Nick Cave albums on the list but i actually preferred this one. The more upbeat folky sound works pretty well. faves: When i first came to town, Loom of the land, Papa won’t leave you Henry, I had a dream Joe 68/100
100/1089 The recording/master that’s on spotify has a constant staticky sound through most of the songs which is a little distracting This music just isn’t a bit of me. in terms of instrumentation, vocal style, lyrical content, i can’t really relate to it. It had moments that were pleasant and sweet but also ones that grated it’s short runtime worked to its benefit, none of it really outstayed its welcome. As a result, I’m quite glad to have listened to this as part of this project, though it was a slightly underwhelming 100th album. cute 20/100
101/1089 Rolling in the Deep kinda one of the best pop singles ever released, and an incredible album opener Rumour Has It is a lot of fun and has a great bridge, Turning Tables is a solid track too. Set Fire To The Rain is a generational pop song, god tier The way One and Only develops towards the end is quite beautiful and a standout moment Someone Like You speaks for itself. This is such a strong project. I think the singles do stand out fairly high above the others but the deep cuts hold up 71/100
102/1089 Parade was kinda camp… i loved that This whole album was just nice chill vibes, i enjoyed my time with it and the way the instrumentation and vocals are so quintessentially 60s without sounding dated in a negative way 64/100
103/1089 release the pressure is giving some solid macarena vibes very turn of the millenium futurism aesthetic Was thinking that this music was very specifically giving me Tomb Raider (2001) movie vibes and then i see that Song of Life from that very film is the next track and it just made sense. I can understand people not enjoying a full album of this type of music/finding it quite dated but it just really encapsulates a certain relaxing/nostalgic moment for me I think i prefer the first half of the album, it didn’t necessarily lose steam per se but i think there’s only so much ambient electronic 90s music I can remain interested in before i check out a bit. still solid though and nice as background music faves: Black Flute, Song of Life 65/100
104/1089 Not sure how to sum up my thoughts on this one, i’m not into hardcore metal etc (though i do generally quite enjoy softer metal and metal influences in songs) so a lot of the music here just doesn’t land for me. This kind of aggression (or this mode of expression) just doesn’t resonate with me especially knowing that Anselm has been conisistently weird with his racist moments. This Love was the one track that stood out to me, that was a bit more my speed. the instrumentation was pretty cool throughout 23/100
105/1089 This was a really nice album, it was quite short and sweet, and even with a single song that took up a third of the half hour runtime alone, it flowed smoothly. i feel that maybe my score doesn’t do the talent/impact justice but it feels right as a reflection of how much i like/enjoy the actual music, personally. Soul music and live albums (of artists i’m not already into) aren’t the most resonant with me but i could see myself coming back to this down the line with fresh ears and appreciating it even more faves: Think, Lost Someone 60/100
106/1089 this is a prime example of why i’m doing this project. I love to hear music from different cultures and this acapella folk album from South Africa is a perfect candidate for that. It’s just a really warm and friendly record and a relaxing listen. The score/rating feels irrelevant for this one. I enjoyed my time with it and that’s enough. it’s a bit too relaxed and choral/gospel-ish for me to want to return to it and it blended together quite a bit which is nice for a full run through but meant there wasn’t really standouts for me 49/100
107/1089 i’m not a metalhead but this was actually a pretty good listen overall, some bits were a bit harsh and too much for me though. I had already heard a couple songs, so it was good to have some expectations set (unlike with Pantera which I had the other day) i may not listen to this album again but i did add a few songs to my playlist for this project. these being: Snuff, Child of Burning Time, ‘Til We Die, Dead Memories, Sulfur 66/100
108/1089 Quite enjoying these first 3 tracks so far. it feels/sounds quite like the precursor to today’s Sam Fenders etc, with a bit more richness that comes from the age and more original feel of the sound, if that makes any sense. It definitely doesn’t sound super live though This album was a really nice listen, it felt like a little time capsule and in the context of this project, I actually liked that it was a live album that didn’t sound too live. It felt more approachable and like a better representation of the music for a newcomer this way. faves: Cowboy Song, Massacre, Emerald, Jailbreak 70/100
109/1089 I don’t have a lot to say about this album. objectively, i can see the merit, i can see how it fits its place and time. However, that isn’t for me. It’s a type of dated rock music that i just don’t care for and can’t get into really. that said it did have a couple highlights in Hyacinth House and L’America 28/100
110/1089 Halfway Home is a great opening track 3 songs in and each sounds unique and with a well crafted perspective. some parts of Dancing Choose remind me of Sufjan Stevens, interspersed with rappy elements which i love some bowie-esque vocalisations on one song I had a great time listening to this project, it’s a well-structured and realised indie rock album and really scratches the right parts of my brain a definite 5 stars from me faves: Halfway Home, Dancing Choose, Lover’s Day, Love Dog, Family Tree 87/100
110/1089 robbie williams is so interesting because he had this cool “bad boy” image an then he’s off singing about a “jolly good time” lmao this album’s sounding quite dated. imo Britpop tends to either stand the test of time or age poorly, i think this is the latter Angels is still cheesy but has stayed quite timeless Let Me Entertain You is the clear standout i think. I know part of this is because i have nostalgia for that song unlike the deep cuts but i really feel that it’s the one that pushes the envelope and sounds most developed 56/100
112/1089 Blowing in the Wind is a cute classic but that Harmonica is very grating to me. genuinely really like the song except from that part once again really liked Girl from the North Country but then the harmonica comes in and takes me out of it. it’s more bearable here though, until the awful long note at the end The disgust and scorn in Masters of War is palpable wow The harmonica in Bob Dylan’s Blues was soo much better overall a really nice album, i totally get the importance of Dylan and his music, his voice and style is singular. It’s not music that i’ll be listening to loads hence the score but i fully appreciate the impact faves: Masters of War, A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall, Girl from the North Country, Blowin’ in the Wind least fave: the screechy harmonica jumpscares 66/100
113/1089 Rollin’ on the River is actually called Proud Mary and was a cover?! you learn something new everyday This was a fine album, it’s a genre that doesn’t excite, or really interest, me but listening to it didn’t feel like a chore, it was to the point and felt quite emblematic of it’s time 24/100
114/1089 (Relisten) Intro is still iconic. and the rest of the album is really solid and very up my street. not much more to add since i’ve already liked this album for a while. In particular i love a reverby guitar faves: Intro, Night Time, Crystallised 85/100
115/1089 Better than the Morrissey solo albums i’ve been subjected to, not much to add really, it’s decent indie rock. M’s whiny tone is hit or miss as ever but the songs themselves are a bit better faves: Bigmouth…, There is a Light…, Some Girls…, The Queen is Dead 3 stars
116/1089 not really vibing with this one (track 2), the chicken-lickin’ etc rhymes are very annoying Overall, I don’t have a lot of specifics to say about this album. It was alright, decent britpop with some moments i liked but nothing that felt outstanding or groundbreaking to me faves: Wrote For Luck, Lazyitis, Mad Cyril 2 stars 48/100
117/1089 so i do recognise Even Flow from guitar hero and i do quite like it, it has the reverb-y space-y sound i enjoy in this type of rock music overall, this was a pretty decent rock project, it felt of it’s time in a positive, nostalgic way. well performed and created. the standouts for me were: Even Flow, Black, Release, Jeremy and Garden i’m feeling a solid to high 3 stars or 68/100
118/1089 “masturbating with a noose, now someone’s kicking out the chair” is an INSANE lyric the epitome of 80s american trucker rock. it was a good project, didn’t overstay it’s welcome and had a few that stood out to me: Young Lust, Monkey On My Back, What It Takes 59/100
119/1089 really quite enjoyed this record, in some ways it might even be my favourite of the 3 bowie’s i’ve heard so far (This, The Next Day and Hunky Dory) I really like having instrumental tracks in albums in the same way i love intros and interludes, my one criticism on this front is that having 3 different tracks like this with no vocals back to back was a bit much and made me lose focus a little faves: Beauty and the Beast, Sense of Doubt, Heroes, The Secret Life of Arabia 75/100
120/1089 a solid heavy metal project. I could see this rating a little higher on a revisit just because i’m feeling a little fatigued on rock/metal (or adjacent) albums on this project. Breaking the Law is the easy standout and is really good, i also like The Rage. I don’t think there’s necessarily a weak spot here which is cool, it’s just a genre that i’m not super enthused by, so there’s a bit of a limit to my appreciation 58/100
121/1089 one song in and i REALLY like his voice, and kind of distant/dreamy production on the instruments is captivating hearing some Neighbourhood/Turnstile precursor in So Real, vocal style and vocal production-wise ooh wow this rendition of Hallelujah… I’m sure i’ve heard parts of it before but hearing it in full is something else Corpus Christi Carol into Eternal Life was great. This whole project has felt so special, i’m not sure what more i can add. he was so laser-focused on his sound, there’s variety in vocal and style but it still all fits together so smoothly and i can see this album growing on me even more Lilac Wire and Corpus… were the omly songs i didn’t save but even then they were really good inclusions faves: Mojo Pin, Eternal Life, Lover Upu Should’ve Come Over, Grace, Last Goodbye 93/100
122/1089 This album was so soulful. very much a joy to listen through. I think proper appreciation would come with some more listens but for now it was good. faves: Love to the People, Blue Monday People, Hard Times 64/100
123/1089 This genre just generally isn’t for me. I find the vocal and lyric style off-putting and contributes to the fatigue i get after listening to too much metal/hard rock. However I can appreciate the skill and the expression in the instrument playing, To Live Is To Die is actually my favourite song of the project and has no vocals. Of the 2 Metallica albums I’ve heard, i definitely preferred S&M So overall i can see the appeal objectively, and am glad i’ve listened to it, it’s just confirmed that this is not my taste. 59/100
124/1089 at least it was short… i just have no interest in this style of music, he has charisma, some of these songs are very recognisable but i’m not sure i “needed” to listen to this one not to mention the kind of guy he was… 9/100
125/1089 This is a pretty solid album. Very 80s and a dated but i think it airs just on the good side of dated/nostalgic. she has such a strong presence and it’s an enjoyable project that doesn’t feel it’s length. faves: When I Was Young, Steel Claw, I Can’t Stand The Rain, Private Dancer, What’s Love Got To Do With It 70/100
126/1089 Naturally this is a pretty good album, it has no standout bad tracks and even as someone who’s not into the Beatles, it was enjoyable. Here Comes The Sun, Come Together, Because, I Want You and Sun King were my favourites. I quite like the medley and the way it keeps the pace moving in the second half. a high 3 stars for me 69/100
127/1089 A really enjoyable 00s hip-hop album. It’s very emblematic of it’s time and such an easy listen. The groovy nature of the music and the way Q-Tip flows over it meshes so well and there are some very well integrated features. There aren’t any weak links faves: Move, WeFight/WeLove, Johnny Is Dead, Believe, Getting Up 84/100
128/1089 a solid punk album. It was a good listen that I enjoyed enough but i don’t necessarily need to listen again. I think it would have sat better with me if it were 10 mins or so shorter. 60/100
129/1089 one song in and i’m cautiously optimistic that this is post punk made for me. Love Siouxsie’s voice and the strummy guitar This was a great project, not a single miss for me. The feel and sound etc was all very well executed and i’ll def be returning to this one. Something *just* held it back from 5 stars for now, not sure what but i could see it growing with more listens faves: Spellbound, Into The Light, Fireworks, Monitor, Sin In My Heart 79/100
131/1089 2 hours… here we go i guess… Down Through The Night was pretty good but then followed up by some borderline-pompous spoken word overall, this was a fine psychedelic rock album, nothing stood out as being particularly bad to me, except from maybe the spoken word sections which just felt pretty naff. faves Down Through the Night, Seven by Seven, You Shouldn’t Do That 54/100
132/1089 This was a good album quality-wise, as i’d expect from Bowie. However, it just didn’t really grab me unlike the others i’ve listened to. Maybe i need more time between Bowie albums in this project to be able to better appreciate one like this one which is a bit more understated imo fave: Right 63/100
133/1089 seeing that this came out in 1978 is kinda wild, it sounds very ahead of it’s time and it has some moments i really like and if it was fine-tuned a bit more to be like those moments it’d be an easy 4 stars. it really sounds like it could have been the soundtrack to a metroid or similar game. However, it plods a little too much for me, often the songs don’t seem to have a clear progression or intention and end up being the same string of beeps and boops repeated for too long. I do wish that the link on the album page of this generator would take you to the original German version because I’d have listened to that one if it had occurred to me that the link might not prioritise the original language faves: Metropolis, The Model 65/100
134/1089 There were so many references/realisations in this project… It’s still bizarre to hear Donald Trump references pre-2016, especially when they also reference “Fake News”. It’s also nice that this project has worked out the way it has so that i understand the context of the Afrika Bombaataa, Duke Ellington, and The Message name drops. Also had no idea that “Rah Rah Dungeon Dragon” wasn’t a Nicki Minaj original… all that out the way, this was a really fun and enjoyable project. The flows were smooth and meshed together but also felt distinct. The production was great as well as the lyricism just overall it all worked so well for me. i think it’s 5 star-cusper, which could solidify more with further listens faves: Excursions, Buggin’ Out, What?, Scenario, Skypager, Jazz (We Got) 82/100
135/1089 this genre of music just isn’t a bit of me, lyrically, instrumentally or vocally… Under The Boardwalk in particular was quite annoying i appreciate that the songs are mostly shorter and to the point, Wednesday Week is the most bearable along with What’s With Terry? 18/100
136/1089 really solid record from coldplay which shouldn’t be a surprise but it is a little nevertheless based on some biases i guess faves: Don’t Panic, Spies, Yellow, High Speed, Everything’s Not Lost 75/100
137/1089 a decent hip hop record, i enjoyed listening to it, quite low key for the most part, it could’ve used a couple more stand out moments for me personally but it’s an easy listen that i could see myself coming back to occasionally faves: Kick, Push, Daydreamin’, Pressure, Hurt Me Soul, He Say She Say 65/100
138/1089 absolutely awful album cover… the music itself it okay, a bit too one-note for me overall but has some good moments such as: Gone and Life it was a fine listen but i was hoping for a bit more 55/100
139/1089 a nice, funky album. could see myself returning to this on the odd occasion as reading/working music. Also fun to recognise “thank you for lettin’ me be myself…” from watching the Scooby Doo movie as a kid faves: Africa Talks To You, Thank You for Talkin’ to Me, Africa, Runnin’ Away 63/100
140/1089 Clocks is still such a stunning song, one of the most euphoric songs ever made imo and is kind of exemplary of Coldplay’s best i’ve now had both Coldplay albums on this list within this last week and even though i already knew i love some of their singles (particularly from Mylo Xyloto and Head full of Dreams), i think i’m realising i like them more than i thought this was a really good album, i’ll def be returning faves: Politik, In My Place, Clocks, Daylight, Warning Sign, A Rush of Blood to the Head 83/100
141/1089 really enjoyed that it started off with a mostly instrumental song. Just a solid guitar-led indie album, very vibes-based and reminiscent of other peers but good faves: Firesuite, Break Me Gently, Sea Song, Melody Calls, Catch The Sun, The Cedar Room, A House 72/100
142/1089 got this pretty quickly after the other ATCQ album on here and it’s also pretty good! I think it took longer for me to get into and might need more listens than the last one for me to properly appreciate it but i liked it a lot, it was a good listen faves: Go Ahead In the Rain, Description of a Fool, Can I Kick It?, Bonita Applebum, Public Enemy 75/100
143/1089 Opening tracks are so strong, perhaps this double album won’t feel drawn out?? the squelchy sound in Bust really doesn’t work for me but i really like the song otherwise Tomb of the Boom feels SO influential, i hear a lot of different modern rap elements in here, in addition to the Epic Rap Battles of History template This double album was a LOT but it was great, it didn’t really feel it’s length and had a lot of fun and interesting elements that kept it flowing smoothly faves: Ghettomusick, Spread, Hey Ya!, Prototype, Dracula’s Wedding, Happy Valentine’s Day, Take Off Your Cool, The Way You Move, She Lives in My Lap, Church, The Rooster, War, Busy, Unhappy, Reset, Love Hater the Love Below interpretation of My Favourite Things is also pretty cool 84/100
144/1089 Bizarrely, not only are most of the tracks not on Spotify but 2 of the 4 that are (I hate you and Complication) are random royalty free youtube ad tracks After finding the songs on Youtube i can safely say, this music is not for me, i find this style quite irritating personally. the impact at the time etc i’m sure was cool but it’s the sort of thumpy punk-ish rock sound from this era that i just don’t care for Love Came Tumblin’ Down was probably my favourite if i had to choose 15/100
145/1089 a fine lofi rock/indie album, i kinda like the whole “lots of short songs format” nothing overstayed it’s welcome. However, nothing really GRABBED me, some parts were a bit unpleasant and then there’s the random gay slur… faves: A Salty Salute, Striped White Jets, Blimps Go 90 33/100
146/1089 I Believe in a Thing Called Love is iconic and i quite liked Love is Only a Feeling but otherwise I’m quite lukewarm on this one. It was decent but i was hoping for more based on my knowledge of IBIATCL 59/100
147/1089 a very fun and funky project, such an easy listen. a good example of what i’m doing this project to find faves: Mothership Connection, Unfunky UFO 68/100
148/1089 Went by the version of the album on AOTY.com rather than Spotify so had to search for it through Youtube which is a pain. it’s a completely fine meh album. At times it feels very Beatles-wannabe. The production/recording sound quality is pretty rough even for it’s time, very noticeably in Kanga Roo. This definitely falls a bit more in the “didn’t need to hear” category but not every album or style is gonna hit for me fave: O, Dana 23/100
149/1089 definitely giving me a pop-rock Weyes Blood vibe which i enjoy quite a bit. An album I’ve had a good time listening to and will definitely come back to at some point faves: I’ve Had It, Way Back When, I Could Hurt You Now, Say Anything, Stupid Thing, Could’ve Been Anyone, Fifty Years After The Fair 79/100
150/1089 A lot better than Tres Hombres i think, that one didn’t stick for me at ALL faves: Gimme All Your Lovin’, Sharp Dressed Man, Legs 60/100
151/1089 if the first track is anything to go by… this will be a struggle for me i fear. This was a hard listen, just really not a fan of this style of production, vocal or lyricism Golden Hair *almost* made it not a complete bust for me but it still was missing something. Love You and If It’s In You are particularly bad standouts imo 15/100
153/1089 okayy some of this is pretty enjoyable, this is the type of indie ish rock that’s more my speed. It does get a bit too noisy for me at times and i don’t always love the vocal but otherwise, i do like this sort of garage-y rock Poledo is definitely the most interesting track on the album. not sure if i’d want more of the album to sound like that or if i like that it stands out so much. i would have liked it to continue the sound of the first minute for longer though Just Like Heaven is a solid final track faves: Poledo, Just Like Heaven, Sludgefeast, In a Jar, The Lung 70/100
154/1089 i liked Search & Destroy… after that it felt like it plateaued and became a bit more generic glam rock. it was decent, Iggy has the presence for it, just musically not my fave. 59/100
155/1089 an aggresively *fine* album. didn’t feel super original but it had it’s moments and wasn’t “bad” but just didn’t really connect much faves: Dying, Sacrificial Bonfire, That’s Really Super, Supergirl 48/100
156/1089 i had heard of REM before but subconsciously I had thought they were more metal/rock-y rather than sort of folk/indie ish ofc I know Everybody Hurts so it was nice to hear where that came from are REM “fake moon landing” truthers?? I liked Try Not To Breathe and Monty Got A Raw Deal but otherwise I wasn’t particularly enthused by this project. it was alright just not really part of my interests apparently there are 3 more REM albums on this project so hopefully they’re more my speed 47/100
157/1089 instantly recognisable opening track a really nice listen, not something i see myself going back to really but it was just good vibes, good voice, good music. an enjoyable half hour faves: Cry To Me, Goodbye Baby 55/100
158/1089 just iconic, I knew I Want Your Love, Le Freak and Chic Cheer already and the other tracks held up to that and created a really consistent, fun and timeless-sounding disco record I Want Your Love is a contender for one of the best songs ever imo, it’s just amazing. Other than the 3 mentioned, i also added Sometimes You Win, At Last I Am Free and (Funny) Bone 83/100
159/1089 i’m already biased against this kind of country and here he goes threatening to kill his SO oof 8/100
160/1089 (xmas day 2025) i mean, nice xmas classics but rating a seasonal album/compilation like this is always kinda awkward bc ofc i like the songs but only in a specific context for a specific period of time… That said, the songs DO hold up and are pretty timeless
161/1089 5 seconds into the first track… “oooh THAT’S Norah Jones”, nice and chill 00s singer-songwriter vibe it was a nice album, quite good movie-soundtrack-esque bg music. I think it would’ve been greatly elevated if 1 or 2 of the track were more uptempo and varied because it did kind of stay at the same level for the whole runtime. faves: Nightingale, Shoot The Moon, I’ve Got To See You Again, Feelin’ The Same Way, Don’t Know Why 60/100
162/1089 first track was a really good and surprising introduction. Sympathy 3000-21 was beautiful too this was a good listen and i will definitely return to it and can see it growing even more on me faves: It’s Summertime, All We Have Is Now, Approaching…, In the Morning of the Magicians, Fight Test, Yoshimi Part 1 73/100
163/1089 Having not loved LA Woman, the first few tracks had me concerned that this would be the same, however the track run from Ship of Fools to Indian Summer was pretty enjoyable and a welcome change 61/100
164/1089 a cool hip hop project. very of it’s time but not in a bad way at all. A lot of it did end up sounding quite similar, based on the repeated samples at least. faves: Caught, Can We Get A Witness?, She Watch Channel Zero?!, Night Of The Living Baseheads 49/100
165/1089 immediately love her vocal tone and style. This album was a delight to listen to and had some definite highlights faves: Like Fire, Down To Zero, People, Tall In The Saddle, Somebody Who Loves You 67/100
166/1089 a few songs in and it’s very much sounding like a 2 star effort for me the snoring bit was awful oof The album was fine grunge/garage rock, it didn’t excite me majorly but it had it’s moments. Thorn was my favourite 48/100
167/1089 such a stunning opening/title track. His voice is so rich and smooth, accompanied by some complex and deep production/instrumentation. The album as a whole was pretty good and enjoyable but didn’t quite hold up to the first track for the full time imo Mercy Mercy Me and What’s Happening Brother were my other faves 69/100
168/1089 dare i say a better album than A Night At The Opera?? I still liked it but that album suffered from Bohemian Rhapsody so much of a hit that the other tracks couldn’t hold up and felt filler-ish. This one feels focused, intentional and consistent with its tracklisting i saved 7/11 (all except procession, White Queen, Funny How Love Is and Nevermore) faves: Fairy Feller…, Ogre Battle, Father and Son, Some Day One Day 74/100
169/1089 a really nice and thoughtful album. it opened very strongly for me and i think it didn’t quite maintain that strength for the whole duration but i enjoyed it nonetheless and saved 6/10 songs. faves: Feels So Different, I Am Stretched On Your Grave, The Emperor’s New Clothes, You Cause As Much Sorrow, Last Day Of Acquaintance, Jump In The River 72/100
170/1089 a-ha were/are Norwegian?! now it all makes sense Hunting High and Low by Emmelie De Forest is a cover?! feel like i must’ve known that before but it was still a surprise this time I get the criticisms that Take On Me perhaps set the bar too high but i feel like the rest of the album isn’t really trying to replicate that but rather build around it so it works for me faves: basically all except Train of Thought and And You Tell Me. If I had to choose maybe Living…, Here I Stand…, The Blue Sky and ToM 82/100
171/1089 Thank BJÖRK. ever since hearing Medúlla because of this project about 5 months ago I’ve really wanted to listen to more and i also loved Homogenic but i’ve held off on this and the two others that appear on this list until i get them on here. So i’m excited to say the least. And it lived up to it. i was concerned based on the cover and the fact that it’s her (solo) debut that it wouldn’t be as experimental or interesting, but it was! Just really fun and exciting 90s pop music. Like Someone In Love and Come To Me are the only songs i didn’t save but they were still great. my faves might be: Play Dead, The Anchor Song, Human Behaviour and Venus as a Boy 93/100
172/1089 idk what i expected but it wasn’t this. it’s groovy i like it! it does falter a little at times where it goes slightly too far with the quirky sound/vocal but otherwise it’s just very enjoyable to listen to. The Mercy Beat is a banger and kinda unreal faves: The Mercy Beat, Heartland, Infected, Twilight of a Champion 74/100
173/1089 In general i’m just not a fan of the 60s boyband style of pop music. The sound and humour in it usually makes me cringe. On this album, however, i feel that The Byrds quite successfully walked the line between that style and a more serious, timeless guitar-led sound. it did lose a little steam for me but the middle run of Renaissance Fair-Time Between-Everybody’s Been Burned-Thoughts and Words was pretty good and a real stand out 70/100
174/1089 This was a really lovely album. love her voice, the style is very 80s specific and it really works here. It just feels like such a warm hug, and it maintains the feeling and the quality for the entire duration. I don’t think i can rate this anything other than 5 stars, there’s nothing i can mark it down on besides it not necessarily being an album i’ll have on heavy rotation. faves: Sweet Love, Mystery, No One in the World 83/100
175/1089 i enjoyed the first song but then it went to the quirky staccato type of punk that i often find quite off-putting and it stays there for most of the record unfortunately (for me) i just really don’t get on with this type of forced, strained type of high pitch male vocal. It’s quite Jim Carrey-as-Ace Ventura-esque (except it somewhat works in those movies) okay I’m Not In Love is pretty good. That’s another one that I’ve enjoyed. Take Me To The River is also a great listen, very groovy 63/100
176/1089 saw that the first track would be a classical variation and was pleasantly surprised (and relaxed) when i recognised it it then went in a different direction to what i was hoping from that, not bad necessarily but not as interesting to me going through this album a bit bored but liking it enough as background music while i cook and then randomly hearing that very familiar brass hook in Blues, Pt. 2 was fun variations and blues were my favourites, the rest were alright and decent listening just not particularly exciting or engaging to me 48/100
177/1089 I fear that ABBA (generally) are a group that fall into the category where their hits are HITS, but their deep cuts just don’t hit the same. And i don’t think the quality of their album tracks is really much lower, there’s just only so much smash-hit-ery any one artist can have. That said, Tiger is a SMASH. camp as hell, i love it. That’s Me was another that stood out Arrival was a nice instrumental/vocalised song. I like the way there is a more story-like narrative that flows through the songs Fernando also sounds better as part of the album imo faves: Tiger, Money x3, That’s Me, Dancing Queen (nothing comes close to Lay All Your Love On Me tbh that’s pure pop perfection) 71/100
178/1089 This was decent, i already knew some of it due to osmosis from family/friends so that made it more accessible for me. It’s not for me but it was an enjoyable first/one-time listen. faves: Run to the Hills, Children of the Damned 64/100
179/1089 Stripped Intro sounding like the PS2 start up sound omg LOVE the transition from Walk Away into Fighter was so smooth, loved that some really solid tracklisting and flowing here. Nothing feels irrelevant. Beautiful is a really nice song. As a Zillenial though, I think I’m a little biased against it though based on it being overplayed and over-performed on X Factor etc at an age where it just didn’t feel relevant to me. but in the album it’s nice Make Over is GREAT. the sort of intense beachy guitar-led salsa sound really suits her and adds a new dynamic to this album. The Sugababes worked on it too?! or rather they were unknowingly and illegally sampled i guess oof somehow i’d always assumed The Voice Within was a Leona Lewis single that i never owned, but hearing it on here makes so much sense The light drum n bass element at the end of Keep On Singin’ My Song is greattt i like Xtina but when i saw the album was 1 hour 17 mins i was a little concerned, however that flew by, what a well structured and considered pop album! i saved 12/20 songs. half of the unsaved ones are intros/interludes but my select faves are: Fighter, Dirrty, Make Over, Get Mine, Get Yours, Infatuation 88/100
180/1089 EXTREMELY 80s and very repetitive in both sound and lyric. appreciate the intent though The only song that stood out to me was the final track, We’re Going to Live for a Very Long Time. Otherwise it was just OK and fine as background music 39/100
181/1089 Back In The USSR is a good start. Then “Ob La Di, Ob La Da, life goes on brah” has always been a very cringeworthy lyric to me i’m more familiar with Beyoncé’s rendition of Blackbird but the original is ofc powerful too. Then it’s undercut by Piggies right after it for some bizarre reason Helter Skelter specifically feels REALLY like the precursor to 90s Britpop. I got blisters on me fingers is from THIS album?! I quite liked Cry Baby Cry but especially the acoustic outro which should’ve been a full song?! Good Night is actually a very beautiful and calming way to end the project, it’s SO Mary Poppins-coded. contender for my fave Beatles song? It was a good double album, i had a nice time with it and i wouldn’t say it noticeably dragged (though i did do each disc in separate sessions) however i think if it had been edited down i think it could’ve been much stronger to me faves: Good Night, Helter Skelter, Julia, Cry Baby Cry, Blackbird, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Back in the USSR 66/100
182/1089 John Lydon, FLOPPP. This music just isn’t a bit of me really “never mind the bollocks, just kidding here’s the bollocks” i can understand that it was impactful and for many people this is great. However, my ratings are personal and i just didn’t like it and John Lydon is annoying on top of that 18/100
183/1089 Waittt maybe i’m hearing something with Thunder Road 👀 (i didn’t really like Darkness on the Edge of Town so my expectations are low) okayy so i liked that a good bit more than Darkness… maybe i need to go back and relisten to that one now. i feels like there’s more intent here and the songs are a bit more attention-grabbing faves: Thunder Road, She’s The One, Jungleland 55/100
184/1089 was excited for this based on the cover and title, then i get hit by the (dated) jazzy trumpets… i can appreciate this as a cool jazz album and it did have some highlights, it just didn’t excite me. (that said, i wasn’t bored enough to keep track of how long i had left and actually only noticed once it had looped and replayed the first two tracks) i love the intent behind it and the idea of a mixture of jazz and african elements to express Abdullah’s feeling/experience of exile. However, i’m not knowledgeable enough with jazz to be able to pick these out tbh faves: The Mountain, Manenberg Revisited 48/100
185/1089 love a nice instrumental opening. Tonight, Tonight was decent The lyrics to Zero feel VERY poser/tryhard to me and i’d actually prefer the songs with no vocals at all bc the guitar etc is good but the voice is… tiring okay so this was a decent album. i think there’s a solid 4 star project in here that’s been brought down by the length and “bloat” for want of another word. I think bringing it down to a 14 track single album but cutting some songs and removing vocals from some others would leave an album that could be pretty impactful to me. faves: 1979, Mellon Collie, To Forgive, Cupid De Locke, Galapagos, Porcelina Of The Vast Oceans, Stumbleine 63/100
186/1089 the album has this great blend of late 70s/early 80s groove and then some very Disney-esque moments like She’s Out of My Life i mean it’s MJ, it was a great album, not sure how much i need to go back to it necessarily but still it’s cool knowing for myself now that he was definitely not just a singles artist faves: It’s the Falling in Love, Girlfriend, Off the Wall, Rock with You 70/100
187/1089 Enter Sandman is just pretty great, especially as an album opener. it’s a fine album but still suffers the issue i often have with this and similar genres, which is that i just don’t really need an hour of it. the songs i liked were good and i’d listen to them again, especially in a movie/tv context. Otherwise i’m just fine to have this one listen. Similarly, i once again find that i prefer metal music when there aren’t vocals (in particular, i often don’t love male vocals in this style) S&M remains my fave Metallica project (ironically considering it’s length) but i prefer this over Justice faves: Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, My Friend of Misery 64/100
188/1089 VERY 2000s chill vibes, i’m so here for this. It had some… interesting moments. I’m not 100% sure how much i’d come back to this, it very much feels like background music in a nice way but there are other albums that sort of fill this niche for me faves: alaska street, belladonna, keeping pigs together, shellback, don’t go nowhere, bussing, i stole your car, they’re hanging me tonight 69/100
189/1089 Nirvana just aren’t really for me. This is the third album of theirs i’ve had on here (out of 3) and i do appreciate the singles, i just feel like the mood i’d need to be in to fully enjoy their music is quite specific and not one i feel often. i appreciate the music and the impact, i just don’t love listening to it faves: smells like teen spirit, come as you are 61/100
190/1089 hmmm beatles-y slow piano dirge… not really for me but it’s fine. the secondhalf of Sea Song with the vocalising and synth/theramin section is quite nice Okayyy I like the sound and energy of A Last Straw red riding hood is soo unnerving to me, i like it in theory and certain parts but i was on edge for the whole song and sort of overstimulated the sounds are quite retro video gamey which is kinda fun. there’s just constant high pitched sounds in the background of these songs that i don’t enjoy. perhaps a remaster of the album would solve this for me finding out he’s from Bristol definitely didn’t shock me. I really appreciate his intention and style etc regardless of if i feel i need to listen to this album again faves: A Last Straw, Alifib 65/100
191/1089 a fine album, i preferred it over Village Green. I’m just not really into 60s boyband pop i don’t have much to add because my issues aren’t really with the quality or impact etc i’m just not the target audience. of course i did recognise Waterloo Sunset though and that was a highlight along with Afternoon Tea my score feels really mean but it’s completely down to personal taste and feeling 24/100
192/1089 this is SO of it’s time, it’s cute and irritating in equal measure it’s always jarring to hear Trump name drops in pre-2016 media the B-Boy Bouillabaisse section was easily the best part of the album imo. it felt pacey and exciting and fresh. i think it they’d cut down the first half a bit, then that pacing could’ve made the album much stronger faves: B-Boy… A Year and A Day, B-Boy… Dropping Names, B-Boy… A.W.O.L. 47/100
193/1089 i don’t think this is gonna be for me… very awkward and stunted flow. Blinded by the Lights is pretty good though, the combination of the rapping and female vocal as well as the intense production definitely stands out. It reminds me of Twenty One Pilots’ Car Radio okay it’s picked up a lot and feels like it’s hit it’s stride. It was kinda funny going through this album thinking “this guy sounds familiar” and then getting hit with Fit But Don’t You Know It and it all clicks. What’s funnier then, is getting to the chorus of Dry Your Eyes and realising that you know that song too i get why people might not like this (non-brits especially bc it’s VERY bri’ish) and the first 3 songs are EASILY the weakest, but it’s got something so addictive and fun about it. and i think knowing that it’s a concept album is also very important to understanding the tone etc faves: Blinded by the lights, Get out of my house, Fit but you know it, Empty cans 70/100
194/1089 Britney was my first favourite singer so I’m biased for sure but I don’t need music to always be experimental or pushing boundaries, sometimes I just want some solid pop songs. I like this album, especially the hits. It’s extremely 90s teen pop and not necessarily groundbreaking but i feel it shows that Britney has always had the charisma to elevate these songs. It deserves a place on this list purely bc of its commercial and cultural impact at the time. However, Britney deserved a second spot (certainly over some artists who got 5/10 spots) because it’s just not her best or most interesting record, Blackout was truly influential and pop music wouldn’t be the same without it. I’d also argue that Britney or In The Zone deserve a place over this one. faves: …baby one more time, (you drive me) crazy, i will be there, autumn goodbye 86/100
195/1089 A very nostalgic album for me and it holds up. the combination of metal, rap and pop really works here. faves: crawling, in the end, papercut, cure for the itch, by myself 84/100
196/1089 Third Talking Heads album of this project so far, still find the style of singing here a bit irritating most of the time but the production and instrumentation’s good it’s a good album, perhaps my favourite of the 3 and i think it ends on a strong note. don’t need/intend to revisit it but i think the style has sort of “clicked” to where i can appreciate it more tha i did before faves: Psycho Killer, Pulled Up, Don’t Worry About the Government, First Week/Last Week… Carefree 64/100
197/1089 i quite enjoy this type of folky/punky rock, it’s very atmospheric in its production. the “folky” aspect is more in certain sections of guitar playing/production etc. i could picture some of the riffs on a Pogues or Fairport Convention song. I don’t care for a lot of the lyrics but i particularly liked the vocals across the record, and the switch up to their female vocalist on My Curse was very cool and effective. andending on an instrumental track was i choice that really worked for me faves: if i were going, gentlemen, fountain and fairfax, brother woodrow/closing prayer, my curse, what jail is like 74/100
198/1089 3 Doors albums down and this is definitely my favourite. i quite like the more raw sound. I don’t have much more to add other than that this project was a good listen and i enjoyed my time with it, though i’m unlikely to return to it faves: Break on through (to the other side), Soul kitchen, The end 63/100
199/1089 it’s giving Sufjan Stevens vibes and i’m enjoying it. The soft rock, melancholy vibe is quite appealing to me. it could have some higher highs for sure but it still has a nice flow. faves: Heavy metal drummer, I am trying to break your heart, Radio cure, War on war, Pot kettle black 75/100
200/1089 i’m left feeling fairly indifferent with this album. it was kinda good but also very monotonous imo. I’m glad I listened to it but not sure i’ll return faves: The Glorious Land, All and Everyone, On Battleship Hill 46/100
201/1089 disc 1 was more solid Xtina. it doesn’t have a Dirrty or Fighter-level banger but it’s a great listen nonetheless. Even when i’m not really feeling a song, her voice is able to carry it. Without You is a highlight of this generator project i think, that one really hit the spot for me i fear hearing Candyman in context still doesn’t make me love it. like it’s a fine single but not my fave and i kinda don’t see the relevance. i wasn’t 100% sold on the need for disc 2 when i hit Candyman and the 2 songs after that but then it hit right Hurt onwards and i’m glad it clicked this is so close to 5 stars but i need to see how much i feel the need to return to the project in full before i can bump it into that category faves: Without You, Hurt, Oh Mother, Thank You…, Welcome, Ain’t No Other Man 81/100
202/1089 pressing play on this album and jus immediately being attacked oh god i think this could make a decent soundtrack for an SSX game but otherwise it’s generally just too noisy in a screechy way for me fave: Eyeballin 21/100
203/1089 just an excellent project, the references, styles, flow. I just really enjoyed it all, Janelle has a great ear for the types of genre crossovers and experimentation that are on this album faves: Wondaland, BaBopByeYa, Say You’ll Go, Cold War, Dance or Die, Tightrope 93/100
204/1089 Having heard about the reputation of Trout Mask Replica, I was a bit disappointed that this album was so normal. It’s a fine 60s boyband pop album but doesn’t particularly interest or excite memaybe i need to return to this in the future knowing what to expect 24/100
205/1089 I can’t say that this is a style of music i have much experience with/care for generally, but it was a good listen and a good example of why i’m doing this project. I liked the more percussive and ambient turn it took towards the end. faves: We Fenced Other Gardens…, Hold Hands…, Flow My Tears… 56/100
206/1089 i’m a simple guy, i hear Nelly Furtado, I rate 5 stars. okay not quite but i did quite like this project. It has an effortless ease and flow to it that made it satisfying to listen to. I don’t have much that i can add beyond that after just 1 listen, but i could definitely see myself returning to it. faves: Thin Line, If Only You Knew, Freedom, Hey, A Day At The Races, What’s Golden, Acetate Prophets 75/100
207/1089 a pretty mellow, soft rocky album. I liked it enough while i was listening but it didn’t really grab me. fave: Train Leaves Here This Morning 45/100
208/1089 a nice reggae record. very pleasant to have on in the background and the intention of it is cool. That said, it doesn’t necessarily stand out to me as something that i’m interested in returning to fave: Brand New Second Hand 54/100
209/1089 something i immediately notice is how well the tracks flow together, it REALLY enhances the experience for me when it comes to this type of easy listening music enjoyed this album, don’t have a lot of insight to add but The Byrds are 2/2 with 4 star albums for me faves: Artificial Energy, Tribal Gathering, Wasn’t Born To Follow, Draft Morning, Dolphin Smile 71/100
210/1089 a well composed and played relaxing jazz set. 54/100
211/1089 based on the cover and title/artist name, i’m excited to get into this one. saw Music Makes You Lose Control on the tracklist and felt a little disappointed though, i was expecting a style that’s a little more cool and unique but it’s still a bop so far it was a decent french electronica album but a bit on the dated side and i fear the cover being so good gave me too high hopes faves: Hypnotise, What’s That Sound, Brothers, Take A Little Time, Damaged People, About Funk 60/100
212/1089 i’m such a fan of the Portuguese language and Brazilian variant, as well as the music that comes from it, so this’ll be a delight. as expected, i quite enjoyed this, i find Tropicália/Bossa Nova like this quite relaxing and fun to listen to faves: most of the album tbh but if i had to choose… Eles, Tropicália, Clara and Clarice 81/100
213/1089 a solid punky album. i think it started really strong with Disorder and didn’t quite keep that up. and never quite hit the highs of Love Will Tear Us Apart but it was a good listen and i’ll definitely return to it 74/100
214/1089 the beginning of Method Man was… something. loved the sample in Tearz. This was a pretty good east coast hip hop project, not a style i often listen to or am super clued in on but the significance of this record is abundently clear and deserved. faves: Can It Be So Simple, Tearz, Method Man, Bring Da Ruckus, 7th Chamber Part 2 62/100
215/1089 i already liked Heaven or Las Vegas and this is witchier which i perhaps like even more such a consistently great record, really enjoyed each song and the atmospheric nature of it faves: Cicely, Aloysius, Lorelei, Donimo 85/100
216/1089 a couple songs in and i was considering this being my first DNF (/finish at another time) not because it’s “bad” per se but i’m not particularly in the mood for this kind of 60s boomer rock it feels like the sort of music that could be utilised really nicely in a film/tv show at some point but that i don’t care for outside of that context Feelin’ Alright? and 40,000 Headsmen were the stand outs for me, the second half of the album was definitely the better part imo 24/100
217/1089 a nice and chill folky album. i quite enjoyed this one. didn’t necessarily blow me away but it could grownon my more with some more listens. I quite liked the short songs format for this genre, it made it flow very smoothly faves: Road, From the Morning, Place To Be, Which Will 70/100
218/1089 i liked this album but i think it was a bit more laid back and dated than Infected and so didn’t impact me as much. I liked the female vocals when they came in, that was perhaps the stand out aspect to me faves: Giant, Sinking Feeling, The Twilight Hour 66/100
219/1089 Second Pogues album from this project and once again i enjoyed listening to it. it’s not as strong as If I Should Fall From Grace With God but i do like this style of Irish Folk/Celtic Punk Rock fusion faves: A Pair of Brown Eyes, A Pistol for Paddy Garcia, The Sick Bed of Cuchulainn, Wild Cats of Kilkenny 73/100
220/1089 starting off strong for me. So Far Away is really reminding me of Weyes Blood’s And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow don’t think i’ve ever heard her version of You’ve Got A Friend but it’s really beautiful (as expected) the way the strings and piano etc build for the second chorus is so lovely and then there’s the Gilmore Girls theme ahhh this is a solid album of classics faves: I Feel The Earth Move, So Far Away, Where You Lead, You’ve Got A Friend 65/100
221/1089 kinda disappointed i can’t lie. it’s not “bad” by any means but it was a bit more dull than i was expecting. It was decent background music while i was reading though, so i didn’t feel the length as much as i expected. i can appreciate the chill mellow vibes and it had a couple of moments that stood out to me but it didn’t hook me and it was a bit too samey faves: Let It Loose, Shine A Light, Loving Cup 48/100
223/1089 so far in this project, the jazzy albums have being okay to decent but none have fully grabbed me. This one, however, it pretty fun and relaxing so far certainly strings in Operation Tango are admittedly kinda unnerving to me Nuevo Tango was kinda giving Ratatouille if it were a JRPG it had its ups and downs, some parts put me on edge a bit too much just in the way strings are played sometimes but otherwise this was a good time faves: Nuevo Tango, La Muerta del Angel, Laura’s Dream, Milonga is Coming 62/100
224/1089 it took forever for it to feel like it was actually going somewhere and then finally THE Another Brick Part 2 starts up I quite liked Wish You Were Here which was my first Pink Floyd album, and now having gotten through Disc 1 of this, i’m pretty certain it’ll stay my favourite for a bit longer. However, Hey You is a great start to the back half i know it’s a concept album but In The Flesh was wild i do like concept albums and it has some definite highs, i think for me it suffers a little at times where it sounds like some cringe english dad rock which has always given me a bit of the ick. (kinda like ska music) i do love when an album repeats a motif though and how theatrical it becomes. The Trial is a great final track (with Outside the Wall acting as an epilogue in my view) faves: hey you, comfortably numb, run like hell, the trial, another brick 2, goodbye blue sky 68/100
225/1089 a cool, relaxing blues album. i liked it but i’m not super in tune with the genre and it kinda didn’t stand out to me 47/100
226/1089 i think this album was given to me at the wrong time. For some reason i just wasn’t really receptive to it/in the mood when i think it would otherwise be right up my street. There were parts that almost hooked me and i can appreciate it but I’ll have to revisit 65/100
227/1089 unfortunately i’m not a brass lover. i think i just generally don’t really “get” jazz. like it sounds nice a lot of the time and if it’s used well in films i like it but i think i just don’t really have a frame of reference to understand it or how it’s meant to make you feel? i can see how playing it would be fun and cathartic etc though 23/100
228/1089 okay, a cool classic psychedelic rocky opener the album was mostly pretty decent and chill. i think the first track set the bar too high and the Toonerville Trolley is genuinely and ATROCIOUS closer (and song in general) listened through a second time and although track 1 is still the highlight imo, i do like the rest (bar the last track) faves: i had too much to dream, are you lovin me more, get me to the world on time 66/100
229/1089 Just a REALLY great pop album. The fact that the album tracks hold their own up against the hits is amazing and you can hear the direct impact these songs would go on to have. something I love about this challenge is when i’m given an album by one of the greats and it meets my expectations and this was one of those times faves: Smooth Criminal, Speed Demon, Liberian Girl, I Just Can’t Stop Loving You 84/100
230/1089 my third springsteen album and i think it lands right in the middle for me. not as good as born to run imo but better than darkness… it was chill, his voice is nice and there is substance here of course. still not hugely my taste but i enjoyed listening faves: Highway Patrolman, State Trooper 54/100
231/1089 my first Elvis Costello record! i really enjoyed this actually, i was a little apprehensive going in but it’s consistently pretty good and has some highs and no glaring lowss, though i don’t want to go to chelsea felt SO long i can’t believe it was only 3 mins faves: The Beat, Lipstick Vogue, Night Rally, Radio, Radio 72/100
232/1089 quite like a bit of bossa nova, samba and jazz. a very relaxing and warm record to listen to, made me even more impatient for summer 66/100
233/1089 this was just good. it’s goth rock that’s pretty easy to listen to, but i wasn’t wowed the final two tracks were my faves i think but didn’t necessarily leave a huge impact personally 54/100
234/1089 okayyy kinda decent for a morrissey project. faves: a rush and a push…, stop me… 62/100
235/1089 okay this has a great cover the music is decent too, quite different from The Beatles in a way? i was expecting more whimsy but i like this style fave: Maybe I’m Amazed 64/100
236/1089 not “bad” and it was fine for a single listen but it just didn’t spark much interest in me unfortunately. maybe i’d like it as background music in a show or something but a full album of it isn’t for me Corvair Baby Remix was the best imo 42/100
237/1089 a pretty nice funky record faves: can you get to that, wars of armageddon 54/100
238/1089 parts are giving The Last of Us’ score. not sure how to rate this when compared to lyrical music which i generally prefer or instrumental music for media where intention/feeling is easier to interpret but it was nice 59/100
239/1089 i was thinking “oh this is a bit of a different sound for them, a bit muse-y and a bit Jeff Buckley-ish” then i realised this is Radiohead and not Oasis which is who i was thinking of. quite enjoying this vibe though vocals on Climbing Up The Walls remind me of Icelandic band Hatari which i like quite a bit yeah this is a great album and one i’ll go back to for sure, def appeals to my taste faves: airbag, subterranean…, let down, climbing up the walls, lucky, the tourist 88/100
240/1089 with absolutely no prior knowledge i saw the title, artist and cover and was excited, then i saw the tracklist and release year and i’m a little more sceptical it sounds kinda ahead of it’s time in a way? feels like 00s futurism which is pretty cool (and something i’m very much into) unfortunately the spotify album the link goes to is messed up with only 2 tracks showing (in the uk at least) but the deluxe version does have the 4 tracks in the right order plus 2 hours of other bits had a nice time listening to this, it’s quite a euphoric/relaxed ambient vibe which is lovely. 63/100
241/1089 This is fine, not really my cup of tea though. it’ll (deservingly) have its fans though Peaches En Regalia was the stand out 45/100
242/1089 no radiohead albums for ages then suddenly 2 show up within 3 days of one another is a fun coincidence, def not complaining though this was once again pretty good, not at OK Computer’s level imo but still a good time faves: myxomatosis, where i end and you begin, there there 74/100
243/1089 starting off with monday monday and they certainly have a distinct and era-specific sound, i don’t hate it California Dreamin’ is SO good, the rest of the album is just nice though i think 53/100
244/1089 emotional weather report is a cool concept, but this type of raspy jazz talking isn’t something i love. That said, i’m doing this challenge to hear music i wouldn’t listen to otherwise and this is exactly that. Though i did just discover Tom has 5 albums on this list… okay if nothing else, i liked Eggs and Sausage I think this album and genre deserves to be on the list and i’m glad i’ve heard it, however i don’t really like it beyond the provenance 22/100
245/1089 heart of glass album let’s GOOO. Cool of them to cover One Direction’s One Way or Another too, their version’s great really enjoyed the album. however, as a Heart of Glass lover, it was a shame that that’s kinda the only song like it on the album faves: Heart of Glass, One Way or Another, Once I Had A Love, Anything Will Happen, Sunday Girl 81/100
246/1089 waittt i’m bopping omg this album was pretty up my street and it surprises me that they’re generally considered a one hit wonder band. Lovefool is a great pop track but the rest of the album holds its own really well. Your New Cuckoo, Been It and Step On Me being other highlights. i also like Losers and the Iron Man cover They kinda give proto-Magdalena Bay vibes and MB are my faves so it figures i’d like this album. I think it would’ve been more well received as a whole if it released like 4-7 years later because it really does feel like a y2k sound what’s crazy to me is that they’re considered a one hit wonder for Lovefool meanwhile they have My Favourite Game in their discography which is an absolute banger, i’ll def be checking out Gran Turismo 84/100
247/1089 i quite liked this, reggae generally is a good vibe obviously and this one was better than Exodus imo faves: Concrete Jungle, Midnight Ravers, Kinky Reggae 62/100
248/1089 i’m sorry but at some point i really checked out of this one and all the songs started to sound the same to me. It’s not necessarily that i think they’re “bad” it just couldn’t hold my interest at all Blue Orchid was the clear standout 30/100
249/1089 this album was alright, mostly it felt like music i’ve heard before so didn’t particularly excite me i guess. i like the last 3 tracks the best, they were the sort of things i was hoping for more of 29/100
250/1089 i was kinda expecting to not be super excited by this. I liked Getz/Gilberto and Beach Samba alright but it didn’t hook me. this one, however, did! it grew on me pretty quickly and i could definitely see this becoming part of my reading rotation 69/100
251/1089 and here we have the Victoria Plumbing theme tune lmao pretty on par with the other two kinks albums i’ve heard, though my faves here are better than the ones on those albums imo i think the kinks are the sort of band/artist who make music that i’d prefer to listen to the instrumental versions of instead of the regular vocal versions. because there are some pretty great instrumentals here but it gets muddled for me only one more kinks album on this list for me phew faves: shangri-la, mr churchill says 27/100
252/1089 look, definitely not my vibe generally, however, there is something about listening to country classics especially when they’re sung by such a rich voice don’t love his version of First Time Ever… Personal Jesus however?? really like that The rest was decent and made for really nice listening, We’ll Meet Again was a lovely send off faves: personal jesus, i hung my head, we’ll meet again 62/100
253/1089 the music is good/alright, as an album i can’t say i really cared for it much but it was a nice vibe to listen to fave: Trust In Me 31/100
254/1089 frontline sets the tone SO well and then the rest of the album keeps up with it. i saved every single song, there was a section where each song was better than the last somehow. what an excellent album. my favourite new discovery from this project and makes me a bit annoyed at myself for not checking out kelela sooner since she’s been on my radar for a minute faves: Blue Light, Onanon, Truth Or Dare, Jupiter, LMK 97/100
255/1089 oooh it’s simon as in garfunkel. i’m liking the mix of genres here, it’s very peaceful and harmonious it was a nice album to listen to, probably above average and i think i’d listen again faves: The Boy in the Bubble, Graceland 56/100
256/1089 i’m just not really receptive to this type of music, i can sort of see the quality if i try to be objective but it just mostly doesn’t really interest me. it doesn’t help that there’s been enough of this genre on this project already my stand outs were King Harvest (Has Surely Come), Rag Mama Rag, The Unfaithful Servant 29/100
257/1089 what is your aspiration in life? XO, Blue and Drunk in Love are some of the best songs ever made idc, i remember the rollout for this album and just falling in love with some of these songs. XO especially is the epitome of 2010s poptimism imo just a really great album, Beyonce is just *that* good XO and Blue are forever faves 91/100
258/1089 look, this is “good” if we’re trying to be objective and i am not disputing its influential nature. I just feel that the other albums of theirs (white, revolver and abbey road) are superior. Therefore, did i need to hear this one on this project? i’m not so sure i think it ends stronger than it started faves: If I Needed Someone, In My Life, Wait, The Word 61/100
259/1089 5th Bowie album on this project and i think this is my favourite cover art of his omg it’s a good album, i think 3rd out of the 5. could definitely grow though faves: station to station and TVC15 68/100
260/1089 message in a bottle is iconiccc. i kinda love that the title track is mostly instrumental. then there’s a reggae twist that i’m not mad at at all it was a fine album and then it just UNRAVELS on the final track, that was a headache omg faves: miab ofc, walking on the moon, reggatta de blanc 46/100
261/1089 just really not my style/interest fave: Thoughts of You 26/100
262/1089 somehow never considered that Ms. Jackson was OutKast… but when it started playing it made so much sense a lot of this one sort of blended together, it’s not as strong as Speakerboxxx/The Love Below imo faves: Ms. Jackson, B.O.B. and Slum Beautiful 72/100
263/1089 this cover is intriguing, i like it. however, the first sung line has me immediately out almost some of it feels like Sufjan Stevens but more countryish and without the heart/warmth that i connect to in his music i’ve made it to What Else Could It Be and I really don’t love the falsetto. the instrumentation, however is pretty lovely. it’s kinda giving Lindsey Lohan Parent Trap/The Holiday and it kinda nostalgic for me Petrified Florist was an interesting turn from the rest if the album at least? Butcher Boy single-handedly saved this album for me, so why was it the shortest song? 😭 i would’ve given the album 1 star if not for that 21/100
264/1089 i wasn’t too enamoured by this one, i just didn’t find it particularly exciting or offering a unique perspective really for the most part i guess Sea Breezes was the stand out to me 22/100
265/1089 her voice is really nice and gives such strong xmas vibes. her cover of You Don’t Own Me is def not my fave but When The Love Light Starts Shining Thru His Eyes was really good Also saved Will You Love Me Tomorrow, great track. this was a nice chill covers album, easy to listen to and i can kinda see why it’s on here, not sure i need to return to it though 51/100
266/1089 first 2 tracks were decent, very dated to the 80s but not entirely negatively. Housequake is dated to the 80s in a distinctly negative way imo okay, The Ballad… and It were good but then it goes to Starfish and Coffee.. Hot Thing is also NOT IT this album is SO hot of cold to me, Forever in my Life is really nice and tbh would make a good closer for the album, so i’m intrigued that it goes on further okay disc 2 was good, and deserved to be there i think faves: Forever in my Life, Strange Relationship, U Got The Look 71/100
267/1089 okayy Baby, Please Don’t Go is a bop this is the type of music that i don’t feel it’s fair for me to critique or rate, so even though i’ll give it star and number ratings, i’m focused more on just letting it play i can’t complain about a good blues album, idk how much i care to go back to it etc but i enjoyed listening this time faves: Baby, Please Don’t Go, Goodbye Newport Blues 63/100
268/1089 weirdo, boo tomato tomato The Beautiful People is iconic of course it’s just difficult to listen to this kind of “evil” concept album when you know that the artist is pretty nasty irl stuck it out through the whole thing, it does have some cool moments sonically but it just blended together for me, i’m not the target audience and it went on for so long 29/100
269/1089 this is such a unique mix of genres that i wasn’t expecting at all. i quite like it but i need to adjust there are some sounds (like the awful squeaking in Where It’s At) that i find off-putting but it’s mostly good production and vocals etc i liked the back half more than the front actually faves: Ramshackle!!, Sissyneck and High 5 66/100
270/1089 this is REALLY not a bit of me… at least it picked up in Let Her Go… this type of sleepy, yodelly country music just irritates the life out of me now they’re singing about swinging a girl around by her hair and throwing her in the river?! 11/100
271/1089 Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams is such a great track and such a classic the whole album is pretty decent imo, i think the middle section of Are We Waiting to Letterbomb is a bit of dip below the rest though 74/100
272/1089 less than a minute into the first track and i already have goosebumps i never knew that Gangster’s Paradise was an interpolation/interpretation but hearing Pastime Paradise just made it make sense, like of course it came from a Stevie Wonder song Disc 1 down and i’m in awe a bit, this is exceptional so far. I love going into a beloved album and immediately understanding why it has that status. of the first 10 tracks i only didn’t save 3 Contusion (which i loved but didn’t save yet bc no vocals), Village Ghetto Land and Knocks Me Off My Feet both of which i still liked a lot but not to the same level didn’t like the baby crying sounds at the start of Isn’t She Lovely this was such a great experience, i saved 12/21 tracks and just overall had such a rich and rewarding time with it faves: Pastime Paradise, As, Summer Soft, Saturn, Another Star 88/100
273/1089 starting strong with Seven Nation Army, i enjoyed this album a fair bit more than Get Behind Me Satan maybe their albums are the sort that i’d need a couple more listens before they properly click faves: Seven Nation Army, The Hardest Button To Button, There’s No Home For You Here 58/100
274/1089 bob dylan album 2 of 7 on this list… ooh i don’t love his voice on this first track, the style and intonation are not it for me Idiot Wind is making it clear to me that this album has definitely caught me on the wrong day. His singing in this song especially is REALLY putting me on edge. I wouldn’t love it much more on a better day tbf but still… it’s very rare for me to hear a harmonica section that i like and i haven’t found one here yet. Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts is easily my fave, i quite liked that one actually despite it starting with that rough harmonica bit Shelter from the Storm is nice too and then it has to have a noisy harmonica section of course! Buckets of Rain was a cute send off too overall, i could of course be missing a specific cultural impact/relevance of this album but this is my 2nd place of the 2 Dylan albums I’ve heard and i feel like since he has 6 other albums on this project, this one could have been skipped? (i thought freewheelin’ deserved its spot even if i didn’t love all the songs) i can see the appeal in the storytelling of his songs but as music the delivery/execution doesn’t resonate with me 23/100
275/1089 i don’t have much to say about this one other than that i enjoyed it, 3rd LZ album and i think this is my fave so far but they’ve all been solid faves: The Battle of Evermore, Going to California 73/100
276/1089 i know of this one for the cover art and literally nothing else i think so let’s see what’s up sunday morning does sound a bit familiar the first 3 tracks were not really it for me but Venus in Furs hooked me, so i’m happy to have found at least 1 song that i find interesting and good-sounding. The strings in it give the song a lot more depth and intrigue to me okay, the album is solid if you discount the first 3 songs imo faves: Venus in Furs, Heroin 52/100
277/1089 Fast Car is one of those songs that i’ve never gone out of my way to listen to but i enjoy it whenever it’s in a film/on the radio i enjoyed this album a fair bit, it’s a low 4/high 3 stars i think, the quality is there, the replayability is a bit low for me though faves: Fast Car, Mountain O’ Things, For My Lover 70/100
278/1089 13 minute instrumental (soft?) rock opening track?! okayyy i like that, it was very classic movie vibes. and then into some melancholic vibes with Book Of Saturday, i’m liking the choices made here Exiles is really nice musically but i’m not loving the vocals here so much. Easy Money is def my least fave so far, not loving the pratical effects eg the paper ripping and generally it sounds a bit more like other generic rock of the era. it redeemed itself in the second half where it was more instrumental and prog-y ooh i’m liking The Talking Drum, it’s giving video game soundtrack to me, specifically something like Plague’s Tale or Prince of Persia Warrior Within. the final squealing was a bit much but in a way it worked for me faves: The Talking Drum, Lark’s Tongues p1, Book of Saturday 74/100
279/1089 oooh this is right up my alley, i loveee discovering new world music, the strings and overall sound of this music is so satisfying for me and the way his voice works with it is great El Harba Wine is a BOP, loved that one C’est La Nuit then sucks all the energy and momentum out of the project, and there’s an Imagine cover next… (i do think CLN could have worked as a track close to the end of the album perhaps) the imagine cover is lowkey maybe my fave interpretation of the song?? (still an overdone song though) kinda forgot to write more as i listened bc i was absorbed in it. there were a few tracks around the middle/end that were a bit less interesting but as a whole i really enjoyed this. This is an album that i would definitely add to my chill playlists and is a good example of why i started this project faves: El Harba Wine, Derwiche Tourneur, Raba-Raba, Mele H’Bibti 83/100
280/1089 saw the album/artist and tracklist and could swear i had heard of them, then the first notes play and duhh ofc i’ve heard blister in the sun i think this sort of music is best enjoyed in small doses/in a tv or film soundtrack for me Add It Up and Blister In The Sun were def my faves, the album as a whole was alright to me 52/100
281/1089 i can see the appeal but it sounds like a lot of other music to me, maybe a bit ahead of it’s time though? i’d associate this with later in time than ‘79 and can hear how it might’ve influenced later acts the uninterested british punk vocal style just puts me off a bit, it feels performative to me at times just not a wholly interesting album to me Two Steps Back was the main highlight but idc about this music really 30/100
282/1089 Hotel California is such a great song, and a cool opener for the album, i’m ready for what’s to come* i was liking Wasted Time anyway but then comes along the reprise?? stunning Pretty Maids really reminds me of Weyes Blood’s album In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow which i love so it’s nice to hear some of the influences on her work Try and Love Again has some really beautiful guitar and harmonies wow this song is kinda hitting me unexpectedly, this is such a bit of me i can see why The Last Resort is the final track and i like the song enough but i think it kinda could’ve been the penultimate one and end on Try and Love Again *or maybe i wasn’t ready lmao imi’m kinda shocked but also not??? like i expected it to be “good” but kinda thought maybe it’d just not be for me. but i really like this one and i feel i can’t give it anything besides 5 stars faves: Try and Love Again, Hotel California, Wasted Time + Reprise 87/100
283/1089 getting the idea pretty quickly that this is fine/good but just not for me Walk on the Wild Side is one i’ve heard in some part before and it’s still really good, the bass is just so warm and welcoming. i can hear Life is Strange and Haim in here so clearly just realised i had it on shuffle somehow, well… that’s annoying but easily sorted it’s a decent album, i think it existing led to similar music that i prefer so i’m grateful for it even if i don’t love a lot of it faves: Walk on the Wild Side is GREAT, Satellite of Love is also v good 54/100
284/1089 okay good start, it’s a type of metal that’s accessible enough for me to enjoy pretty easily which i sort of expected from what i’ve heard of them before also this album was released a week after i was born, i guess it must be the album closest in age to me on this list so that’s fun All in the family is ROUGHHH meh this album was okay but it dragged on quite a bit and i’m generally not a huge fan of some of the aggressive types of lyrics etc in here (i think aggression can be well aimed, eg in punk music but this just felt a bit vulgar imo) that said it has some sounds i like and that i find nostalgic so that’s a positive faves: It’s On!, Freak on a Leash 41/100
285/1089 oh i know this album and artist WELL, one of my all-time faves 🥹 choosing to have this as her representation on the list is a bit bizarre to me (and was essentially just bc it was the most recent album of hers when the new edition was published) of her 6 albums that were out at this point, i’d choose literally any of the other 5 to rep her over this, BTD or NFR being the obvious choices, Honeymoon being the inspired pick i’ll be listening to this one on vinyl of course 🙂↕️ it may be on the lower end of my Lana rankings but it’s still a really good project and it finally gave me Yosemite after having it teased for years faves: Yosemite, Chemtrails, Dark But Just a Game, Tulsa Jesus Freak 93/100
286/1089 this was a pretty solid album, it didn’t inspire me greatly but it was enjoyable and didn’t overstay its welcome fave: Guiding Star 56/100
287/1089 Stevie Wonder again so soon after I got Songs Through The Key Of Life nice. really like this cover once again really enjoyed Stevie’s sound, this was lovely. idk how to rate it compared to SitKoL but i think it’s probably just as good and Bird of Beauty might be my favourite song of his overall. i saved 6/10 songs from this album and the other 4 were still pretty good faves: Bird of Beauty, Creepin’, Smile Please, Please Don’t Go, They Won’t Go When I Go, You Haven’t Done Nothin’ 88/100
288/1089 this was a fun and groovy album, some really nice choices were made and it flowed very well Give Me Your Love was a BIG stand out for me faves: Give Me Your Love, No Thing On Me, Freddie’s Dead 74/100
289/1089 some fun clubby electronic music, gives me such nostalgic vibes and this sound will always be what i hear in my head when i think of “the future” faves: 3 kilos, The heat, Their law, Break & enter 70/100
290/1089 This sounds just isn’t really for me, it’s a bit meh bc of that, like it’s fine but idk i’m just not that into it. I thought I’d gotten quite far in and discovered i was only on the 4th track and most of the album felt that way to me unfortunately i liked the guitar “outro” of Smash a LOT, then it just goes into a very long silence (presumably bc of the secret track but on streaming it feels a little egregious) fave: Self Esteem 34/100
291/1089 okayyy the dramatic overture into a moody guitar led song, i’m liking the vision …and that was about it for what i was interested in. i think the sound’s neat for a song or two but the album dragged imo and isnt for me faves: (well) dusted, shiver, dirty from the rain 28/100
292/1089 this was a fun and interesting enough listen as part of this project but none of it stood out to me as something i need to revisit 24/100
293/1089 generally don’t love this kind of 60s pop and when it leaned into that style i wasn’t super excited but it also leant into some more punky/psychedelic sounds that i didn’t mind ¡Que Vida! stood out to me for that reason, also Revelation too. I’m a sucker for a long track where an artist/band just vibes and plays it out and i’m glad they did that here, it was chill 52/100
294/1089 okay, just based on the opening track, I know i’m gonna enjoy this. I think this kind of Afro-Latino fusion, it just gives such a strong sense of time and place, and identity which i love to hear it meandered a bit and felt a bit less distinct or captivating as time went on but it was still a very nice listen faves: Chan Chan, Candela 75/100
295/1089 about halfway through the album and i’ve saved 5 of 6 songs. otherwise, i’ve listened to Arrival and know their hits ofc and it just has me thinking that obviously music tastes are different and i understand this not being for some people but i just will never understand the people who go as far as to claim that they *hate* ABBA. surely you can at least appreciate that this is excellently executed pop Two For The Price Of One is incredible and following that with Slipping Through My Fingers is *chefs kiss* i think, where Arrival kinda suffered for having mega hits Dancing Queen and Money x3 overshadowing the rest, this feels a lot more well-rounded Lay All Your Love On Me remains the GOAT ABBA song though faves: Two for the price of one, The visitors, Soldiers, The day before you came 88/100
296/1089 First Impression is kinda iconic icl otherwise, it was a chill listen but just not really for me so a bit middling faves: OG Original Gangster, The Tower 51/100
297/1089 the trumpet outro of By The Time is pretty great. This was a good soul album, i’ve heard soul that grabs me more but it was a good listen faves: Walk on by, Hyperbolic… 67/100
298/1089 a very fine hip hop album, another case of, glad i listened to it and i enjoyed listening but i’m not really interested in going back to it faves: Knuckleheadz, Heaven & Hell, North Star (Jewels) 54/100
299/1089 okay so this is gonna be aggressively american and they’re spending a lot of time talking about Skynyrd at the start of the album ig i kinda like the laid back and thoughtful spoken word vibe of Three Great Alabama Icons Started disc 2 and Lynyrd Skynyrd have already been name dropped again omg like give it UP. i think referencing pop culture etc is generally fine and can be used effectively to tell stories etc but this is ridiculous. Okay SO, i just read that these songs are meant to be through the “context of Lynyrd Skynyrd” which kinda explains it but also makes the name dropping still feel pretty weird Angels and Fuselage is a highlight, but overall i think this album is too american for me, and too long faves: angels and fuselage, three great alabama icons 24/100
300/1089 halfway through the first song and i’m SO into this so far omg okay it took a bit of a left turn and i still like it but it’s a bit more on the quirky side than i was expecting Flutes is excellent overall a really great album, i think it could’ve been a bit better if it had taken more from Motion Sickness etc but this js a bit of me faves: Motion Sickness, Flutes, Ends of the Earth, These Chains 83/100
301/1089 Didn’t need to listen to this one before i die i fear… at least not when The Beatles have so many entries on the list and all that i’ve heard so far are better than this 45/100
302/1089 quite liking this indie pop, less-synthy M83 sound. Also a bit of a Wallows vibe. meant to write more notes but i was vibing with it and i feel like i don’t necessarily need to add more. it was a pretty good album, missing that “spark” that would push it into a “safe” 5 star for me faves: Daily Routine, Brother Sport, No More Runnin 82/100
303/1089 some chill beachy rock? i’m in so far. overall it was a pleasant album. not groundbreaking but nice. Wild West End was the definite stand out to me 54/100
304/1089 ooh some chamber folk, this is probably gonna be a bit of me Scarborough Fair is iconic and really timeless, Patterns is also good. so i also know Homeward Bound which is pretty sweet the album was nice and chill, i love a bit of this type of folk faves: Scarborough Fair, Patterns, A Poem on the Underground Wall 75/100
305/1089 okay this cover looks interesting. the sound is groovy! the voice and whether it clicks for me is what’ll make or break this i think so i think there are parts of these songs that i REALLY like and then the rest is just nice, like i can see versions of these that i love hut they’re still nice. Dancing is a key example of this, it has some really nice parts in the verses/post-choruses but the chorus doesn’t quite match it for me an extended instrumental intro for the final track?? i am SO here for that a relisten might be needed fave: Dancing, Small Hours 76/100
306/1089 okayy some kinda beachy “cool” rock, interesting. first janis joplin record too and unfortunately i fear this vocal just isn’t for me at all Piece of My Heart is outstanding (as i already knew ofc) and hearing it properly actually did make this listen worth it in a way also liked Oh, Sweet Mary. the album/band as a whole just isn’t for me 32/100
307/1089 much preferred this over Automatic for the People fave: West of the Fields 62/100
308/1089 should’ve been Lana Del Rey’s Lust for Life… jk this’ll be interesting The Passenger sounds SO familiar, didn’t know that was Iggy Pop though this album was decent, he’s obviously got good charisma and i enjoyed listening faves: The Passenger, Fall In Love With Me 64/100
309/1089 my main rule with this project is that if i “like”/save a song then the album is automatically worth 2 stars at least even if the rest of the album would be 1 star. Old Man saved this album from being a 1 star for me, then Words did too. just not my style really 27/100
310/1089 some french 1990s hip hop?? okay i’m intrigued sounds funky and i’m enjoying it but i do feel like this genre hinges quite heavily on the listener being able to understand the lyrics and i don’t know French the album was fun and enjoyable tbf, nothing groundbreaking to me but still nice faves: Caroline, Funky Dreamer 60/100
311/1089 3rd stevie wonder album in about a month or so and i’m absolutely NOT complaining It’s great, as expected, Superstition is just TOO good. I think i like the 3 albums fairly equally but this one might *just* be my fave as a whole his voice transports me, he truly could sing the alphabet and i’d think it was magical faves: superstition, i believe, tuesday heartbreak 88/100
312/1089 starting off with some luigi’s mansion aura, nice the second song, watermelon man started off with some strong White Lotus vibes this was nice and chill, i’m not super into jazz (when it’s non-lyrical at least) so i’m glad i listened but not in a rush to revisit 22/100
313/1089 been meaning to listen to some Little Simz for a while and i’m glad it didn’t disappoint! just some really good UK Rap/Hip-Hop i think it blended the “harsher” and more melodic styles pretty nicely faves: 101 FM, Flowers, Sherbet Sunset 77/100
314/1089 even on the first song this sounds pretty ahead of it’s time, it sounds more like mid-90s than 88 imo that hold true for most of the album tbh it was decent, again albums like this are why i’m doing this challenge, even if i don’t LOVE it faves: Express Yourself, Something 2 Dance 2 59/100
315/1089 Kiwanuka YESSS. not sure i’ve heard this project but i love Cold Little Heart plus the rest of Love & Hate. And Small Changes was a really nice album too LOVE when an album transitions smoothly between songs like how this does between Rolling and I’ve Been Dazed didn’t make notes during the rest of the album but it’s just proven again how much i enjoy and love Michael Kiwanuka’s music. it has a true sense of catharsis and his vocals and production choices really work for me faves: Light, Hero, I’ve been Dazed 93/100
316/1089 3 songs in and it’s not quite gripping me, idk it’s a bit too twee or something for me, i’m not quite hooked yet Sad Lisa might me hooking me though?? i like this more melancholic piano-led sound from him, i like the drama and it would fit in a game like Death Stranding/Horizon Forbidden West with some dramatic landscapes after that there’s more twee ish music that isn’t super interesting to me. THEN Father and Son comes on and this is a song i knew beforehand likely from Guardians of the Galaxy (but not by name or artist) and it’s just really beautiful i also know the title track and it’s crazy short?! it’s a really sweet moment faves: sad lisa, father and son 28/100
317/1089 okay this is really not my thing i liked Are You Happy at least but otherwise it was a bit meh to me 22/100
318/1089 on track 1 i was already quite digging the vibe but then i got to the piano breakdown and i love that so much. what a fun and interesting turn THE ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE SONG IS ON THIS ALBUM?! iconicccc this was a fun listen. School was the standout for me followed by Dreamer and Rudy 60/100
319/1089 this was quite a different and interesting jazz record and pulled influences and sounds from a fun range of places i think it’s one that could go up in my rankings on a relisten down the line faves: something wicked this way comes, set the controls again 56/100
320/1089 just not a fan of this, it just doesn’t do anything for me personally unfortunately 18/100
321/1089 some of the fluting etc in My God is pretty nice otherwise it was decent, glad i listened but didn’t really excite me personally 48/100
322/1089 this type of skater punk pop rock is pretty fun to listen to, some bits sound quite folky which i like. i also like that the tracks are pretty fast paced, there’s a good amount of tracks that are around 2mins spread throughout so the album doesn’t drag too much faves: Longview, Emenius Sleepus, Basket Case, Welcome to Paradise 75/100
323/1089 sorry Ms. Lynn but i didn’t really like this, just really not a fan of this type of yeehaw country 14/100
324/1089 some nice jazz, not sure really what else to add, it speaks for itself faves: Havona, Rumba Mama 54/100
325/1089 i mean, it was a nice relaxing listen while i read. good background music but not sure i need to go back to it 56/100
326/1089 i will never be a fan of (traditional) country and this album isn’t changing that. but Willie’s voice is quite nice and definitely makes it bearable the type of music that i can appreciate more if it’s soundtracking a good scene in a show etc kinda ironic that i mention willie’s voice being a key highlight only for my two fave tracks to be instrumental (down yonder and bandera) 60/100
327/1089 just not a fan of Dexys. i find the twee-ness and vocal style especially to be a bit cringeworthy. Come On Eileen is the obvious highlight and works as a soundtrack song but otherwise i’m not fussed 34/100
328/1089 3 hours long… here we go i guess made it through and it was decent mostly. i appreciate the intent and scope and i think for fans of them this would be great. Personally i think it’d would’ve been better with maybe the 13 or even 23 best songs. it dragged on too much with too little variation imo and at times got a bit too cringeworthy for me. i think part 1 was my fave but part 3 was close and suffered a little from fatigue faves: death of ferdinand, love in the shadows, strange eyes, book of love, world love, long-forgotten fairytale, 59/100
329/1089 tbh i was expecting a bit more. it was good but i was expecting more Feel Good Inc vibes which i didn’t get faves: clint eastwood, sound check (gravity) 68/100
330/1089 quite liked this indie rock girlie moment and will definitely have to go back to it. i really liked her sound and energy faves: shatter, never said, strange loop 76/100
331/1089 that was some pretty fun glam rock. idk what else to add really faves: Until I Get You, Tooting Bec Wreck 62/100
