I didn't know we needed any more of this pop crap. I found the music completely boring. Even as background droning it was hardly bearable. I stopped after two tracks. 1/5
A great album. Where is my Mind is one of my favorites. It's amazing that it was reissued for Fight Club. But it also goes really well with this great movie. Unfortunately, I'm not in the mood to appreciate the album properly today. It's due to the current stress and insane noise from a building site outside my apartment. Therefore only 4/5
I love the B-52s. Especially this album is fantastic. Planet Claire and Rock Lobster are ma absolute favourites. Every time I hear Rock Lobster I‘m wearing a wide smile. This is really fun.
I've always liked the music of The Cure. Staring at the Sea inspired me. Robert Smith's voice is unmistakable and great. A Forest is one of my favorite songs ever. And yet I missed this album, although not all of it. Good to have heard it now. 5/5
Yes, this is punk. Fast, simple, dirty. I appreciate the influence punk rock has had to modern musik. This boys brought some really new ideas to the 1970 and sometimes I like it mixed in my daily stream. "London Calling" is one of my favorits. I also like "Should I Stay or Shoul I go". But this album is not on my top list.
It wasn't easy listenning for me. But it was interesting and I liked some songs. In the end I prefered the Jazz mix Spotify produced at the end of the album.
I've learned, this is a kind of garage rock. It sounds a little bit flat to me. This will not be one of my favorite albums.
Great album. I nearly forgot it and I'm t hear it again.
I love the B-52s. Especially this album is fantastic. Planet Claire and Rock Lobster are ma absolute favourites. Every time I hear Rock Lobster I‘m wearing a wide smile. This is really fun.
A nice voice. Strong and smooth. May be the right sound for some moods. For me it‘s a little bit boring.
I don‘t like hip-hop. I gave this album a try but I still don‘t like hip-hop.
I know Youssou N'Dour from other songs. This is a African style and sounds like world music. I don't like it very much.
I still don‘t like Hip-Hop. Again I gave it a try, but it‘s not my cup of tea.
Nice album. I like this kind of soul although I‘m not often in the mood to listen to it
I really like this album.
It will not enter my favorite list, but it is good. Liked to hear it.
Great. A very good album. I leked to listen to it
Jaa, Kraftwerk. Die wahren Elektropioniere. Natürlich habe ich mir das bahnbrechende Album im deutschen Original angehört. Und daher gibt es auch einen deutschen Komentar. Großartig.
Sounds like old fashioned Rock'n Roll. I thought it would be recorded before 1986. I'm not very excited.
I'm surprised. I didn't expect to like a genre like alternative county, but in the end I do. A nice and smooth sound.
Interesting. But I don't really loke it.
A long time I always thought of "Loser" when hearing the name Beck. But in the meantime I realised that there was much more. I like this unusal sound.
Sounds strange. I gave it a try but it was really not my cup of tea.
Funky and soul. I really like it.
It‘s really magnificent. I had a lot fun to hear this album again.
It‘s interesting, but I don‘t like it very much. Too closely to Hip Hop for me. But some songs are very good.
Ordinary Madonna Pop. Nice, but with sone exceptions boring
I had this album for 20 years in my collection and heard eventualy a little bit of it. Now I'm exited to recover ist again. It's excellent.
A gorgous voice and fine arrangement. I heard it too often. One of my favorite radio stations plays some tracks again and again.
The start seems to be interesting. The music is dominated by vocals, but I don‘t like the voices. In the end everything sounds similar. This is not mine.
Sounds particularly like kids sitting at the campfire playing acoustic guitars and drums. There are some interesting clips. But in summary I didn’t like it very much
Very nice Britpop. There are other albums from Oasis I like more.
I Like this album form David Bowie. It was nice to hear it again.
Surprisingly good. I heard 'Come on Eileen' in the early 80's again and again. In the beginning I was a fan. In the end it sucks. I didn't want to hear anything again from the dexys. But this debut album is interesting. It won't become my favorite, but it I like some parts of it, especially the brass.
Nice album. It could have been a little bit more funky.
I like this Prog-Rock especially the long Overture. In some parts it reminds me to the early Genesis. The krautrock impact is evident, but Iike it.
I like this album. some tracks are really funny.
Interesting album. Sometimes it sounds like Yes or the Peter Gabriel. I think the vocals were extrem difficult. Reminds me to Sledgehammer which I tried to sing in earlier times.
It's a kind of minimal sound I like. Nice album.
Nice album. I sounds pretty much like blues, and a kind of country mixed with rock'n roll.
I don't like this kind of singer-songwiter
Funny album. Sounds strange, I liked some songs. In the end, it was too strange
I don‘t like singersong-writers. And hither and tither nobel prize, I don‘t like him, his music and attitude.
I like Isaac Hayes very much. Good voice and fine soul. I was surprised to learn, that he played the Duke in Carpenters Escape from New York.
Not too bad, but it makes me nervous
I don‘t know why, but I don‘t like the Beach Boys. Perhaps there was a time, I heard too much of them.
I loke this album, especially "Why Does It Always Rain on Me?"
I don’t Like Hip-Hop
I like Bob Marley's reggae. Listening the album I missed the bass a little. May be a problem of my headphones.
Reminds me to my wilder and younger days, although I wasn‘t young anymore at the date of release of this album. It‘s rough but I like it.
Once I heard the song Maggot Brain in a mix. I didn‘t know Funkadelic until then. I was so excited. Happy to see this album here again.
Reminds me a little bit to Fisher Z but not as good, even the hits of the album. It‘s boring.
I don‘t like Hip-Hop. The aggressive attitude is boring.
This is funny. A lot of different styles. It's not too bad.
I don't like this whining, moaning kind of country music.
I was never a big fan of Elton John. So I was a bit skeptical when this album was suggested to me. And of all things, it contained Candle in the Wind. The inflationary playing of this song after Diana's death really spoiled it for me. Now that I've listened to the album, I have to say that I quite like it. I was thrilled to hear Saturday Night's Alright again.
Yes, these are the Pixies. Even if the album isn't one of my top favorites, it's definitely good. And it was nice to hear the Pixies again.
Another lonely cowboy sings to his guitar by the campfire. I played the songs. None of them interested me. The piece For a Spanish Guitar promised to be interesting. If it was indeed written for a Spanish guitar, it lacked the virtuosity to play it. Boring.
The album doesn't convince me. I found most of the songs a bit lame. It was nice to hear the original Without You again. I was actually only familiar with the cover version by Mariah Carey. I was very happy about the Coconut song, which I only knew as a cover version from the Muppet Show. All in all, I find the album uninteresting.
I could never really do anything with "Yes". I really like prog rock, but my relationship with "Yes" was always rather distant. Some parts of the album remind me a lot of Genesis, except that I like Genesis much better. All in all, the album isn't bad, but I won't be listening to it again any time soon.
I don't like Fiona Anna. Maybe her face reminds me too much of a friend I don't like either. So I was certainly biased. Nevertheless, I tried to listen to the album. I think the first track was not too bad. After the chanting in an unpleasant voice got on my nerves more and more in the second track, I only gave the other tracks a quick listen. There was nothing more that I liked.
I listened to the UK version of the album as if selected by the generator. The much appreciated track Paint it Black is not on there. There are also a few other small differences. It was nice to hear Lady Jane and Under my Thumb again. But like the rest of the album, they also seemed a bit flat and anemic. This is not the Stones' strongest album.
I only had a vague memory of the Monkees. I probably only heard their name once. I gave the album a chance. I gave it up after 18 tracks. The music was uninteresting to me and was increasingly getting on my nerves. Only Zilch promised to be more interesting. It wasn't boring, but it was so annoying that I abandoned it.
Very punk and also funny in parts. At the end it was a bit exhausting and became annoying.
After being very enthusiastic about Dummy and Portishead, I was very pleased to hear that there was to be a new album, Third by Portishead. I quickly bought the album. However, I was disappointed when I heard it. The trip-hop I was expecting was not played. Yes, I thought, not bad, but I prefer the previous stuff. And so I put the album aside and didn't listen to it again. As part of this project, I listened to it again and have to admit that I did the album an injustice. It is great. In fact, it's no longer trip-hop. It's different, more experimental. In the first track in particular, I like the disharmony and arythmia at the beginning, which then dissolves. I also really enjoyed the surprising endings. A nice contrast to the multiple fade-outs. Really great.
Crosby, Stills & Nash reminds me of times on dingy sofas, in stuffy Norwegian sweaters and sweet wild cherry tea. That was great back then. Now I just find it strange. And even at that time, Crosby, Stills & Nash were just a side note for me. I heard it in the alternative scene but it didn't impress me. And even now I found the music uninteresting. It played on the side and the best I could say about it was that it didn't bother me much. 2/5
I didn't like the album, but it wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be. Still, I probably won't listen to it again and I don't feel like I missed anything so far.
During the first tracks of the album, I thought it could be quite interesting. Around the middle, I wasn't interested anymore.
Apparently this is what music sounded like in the mid-60s. I'm not sure who was writing for whom and whether the path of musical inspiration only ever went in one direction. Anyway, I really liked a few tracks on the album. Sunny Afternoon is one of my favorites. I was also pleased to hear Dandy again. But all in all, it's not enough to get into the higher ranks. 3/5
The atmosphere at St. Quentin seems to have been really good. Johnny Cash also seemed to have had a lot of fun. And I would have liked to have had the same with the album. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in this kind of country music. 2/5
I also gave this hip-hop/rap album a chance. I can't get anything out of the genre.
I've never heard the album in its entirety. Hot Love brings back memories of teenage parties long gone and fills me with a little nostalgia. I also find the music a bit boring. 3/5
The album is really quite funny. It was fun to listen to it. But it's not one of my favorites. 3/5
Good old 80s pop. Even back then I found the music uninteresting. It does evoke nostalgic feelings. But it hasn't gotten any better over the years. 3/5
At first I found the album quite funny, quirky and exciting. After half an hour, the novelty wore off and it became annoying. 3/5
Apparently I don't like white rap either.
At first I found the album unspectacular. It didn't sound bad, didn't bother me, reminded me in some places of bigger hits by others. Otherwise it seemed boring. But then that changed. A couple of very funny things happened and the album became interesting. I will listen to the album again.
It was great to hear Areatha Franklin again. A wonderful voice. Thrilling music.
The first album I heard by Massive Attack that I was enthusiastic about was Mezzanine. When I heard Blue Lines, I was pretty disappointed. I was expecting something completely different. When a friend told me that he had been the other way around, I gave the album another chance. I'm glad I did, because it's great.
It was fun to listen to the album.
The album was fun. It was nice to have heard it. But it's not one of my favorites.
And once again hip-hop. It sounded reasonably cool. The best thing I can say about it is that it wasn't quite as annoying as many other hip-hop albums I've heard from this list. It's just not my kind of music. 2/5
So far I've only heard of the rock opera, but never listened to it myself. I tried it once, but couldn't get to grips with it. So now I'm doing it again. Admittedly, I wasn't really gripped this time either. But I did get the impression that this opera was something bigger. It brought back memories of Roger Waters (it was his project, even though Pink Floyd is written on it) The Wall. But Tommy seems to be bigger. I'll have to listen to it again. Very interesting. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Extraordinary. I only knew Sufjan Stevens from trip-hop music compilations. I liked his pieces there. Illinois - funny name of the album - I like it, even if the music sounds different from what I remember from the mixes I mentioned. 4/5
I tried, but Latin American dance music doesn't suit me. I do listen to a bit of Argentinian tango from time to time. I'm particularly a fan of the Gotan Project. As I don't dance the mambo, I find it a bit tiring in the long run. 2/5
I like the album quite a lot. I was very pleased to hear "You Really Got Me" again. Man, it's been a long time.
Ok, I don't need to listen to the album. It's present to me. As a 16-year-old, I was thrilled. I was very sorry at the time that I had neither the money nor the opportunity to see the live show in the neighboring city. All I could do at first was watch the movie in the village cinema. In the run-up to the show, the cinema operator was happy to show the film "Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii". At the time, I was already a fan of the band and liked many of the songs that were played there. I was very amused that some unsophisticated moviegoers expected "Another Brick in the Wall" to be played. :-D Many years later, when Roger Waters gave a guest performance with his show nearby, I was there. I was lucky to be able to see Pink Floyd concerts live in the 80s/90s. Roger Waters' "The Wall", on the other hand, is more of a very elaborate show than a rock concert. Nevertheless, it was great, even if I don't like his political opinions. I've come to view Roger Waters critically and that's not just to do with different political stances, but also with his unfair attempts to suppress other opinions. In this context, I liked Nick Cave's handling of this. Against this background, my enthusiasm for the album has cooled somewhat. To me, it seems to be a self-actualization project by Roger Waters, in which he mainly deals with his childhood. I now find Tommy from The Who more conceptually ambitious here. Nevertheless, the music is great and I always enjoy it. 5/5
Unfortunately, I don't have a chance to listen to the album. My streaming service doesn't have it and I'm not going to buy it on spec.
Sweet, enamel-eating love songs. Even if you're not diabetic, it will kill you. Boring. 1/5
That‘s rock that rocks
Not bad at all. I like the voice. It and the arrangements remind me of the German dark wave duo Wolfsheim with Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhard. A bit melancholic, but I like it. 4/5
A really good album. Unfortunately, it sounds a bit flat. Maybe that's because of my equipment. 4/5
It was fun to listen to Irish folk punk again. I could even listen to the Christmas song "Fairytale of New York" at Easter. Sadly, Shane McGowan died too soon in November 2023.
I actually like Brain Eno's music. But I found this kind of babbling boring. Too bad, I was really looking forward to it. Obviously I was expecting something different. 2/5
I really like Stan Getz's saxophone playing. I also like Gilberto's vocals. However, the gentle bossa nova is more suited to a beach with long drinks in summer. I only have that on rare occasions. I had a good time listening to the music. But it's not the kind of music I listen to all the time. 3/4
I can't do much with world music. I just don't like it. With this in mind, I didn't think the album was too bad. But I don't think I'll listen to it again. 2/5
Not bad at all. But also a bit boring. 3/5
Fun funky fun. 3/5
It was nice to listen to the album again after a long time. There really are a lot of hits on it. 4/5
Although I like psychedelic rock, this album is mostly too hippie for me. It smells too much like flower children. And yet it was nice to hear 'White Rabbit' and 'Somebody to Love' again. In the Morning' is great blues. 3/5
Yes, the album is very punk. But that's the best thing about it. I liked 'On a Rope' alone, but not so much that I have to listen to it again. 2/5
The album is not offered by my streaming service. I have listened to a few tracks that have been released on other albums by the musician. Scott Heron has a good voice. I liked some tracks, others less. Overall, however, this is very exciting. I'll certainly listen to it again. 4/5
I really like independent rock. I liked parts of the album. However, there was nothing on it that made me want to listen to the music more often. 3/5
I had remembered the Arctic Monkeys somewhat differently. I've probably heard newer stuff from them. The album was fun. However, I won't be listening to it again any time soon. But it motivates me to listen to other things by the Arctic Monkeys again. 3/5
I like the Fugees. Lauryn Hill's voice is good too. I tried to listen to the whole album. But there was too much rap for my taste. 2/5
That's too experimental for me. I don't like the voice, I don't like the melodies and I don't like the arrangements. 1/5
A great cover. I haven't heard this music for a long time. Some tracks should be better represented in my playlists. 4/5
The music sounds like a sound interference in my sound system. I have no interest in that. 1/5
I can't do anything with thrash metal and its variations. It all sounds the same to me, like a sound disturbance that you hope will soon be over. It's the same with this album. After playing a few tracks, I gave up on it. 1/5
UK rap really does sound different to its US counterpart. But I still don't like it. 1/4
Sunshine of my Heart is a must at every party of my generation. Simply great. The rest of the album is surprisingly unimpressive. 3/5
The album was fun. I enjoyed listening to it, but don't need it again any time soon. 3/5
The album was fun. I'd never heard of the band before. I'll listen to it again more closely. 4/5
That was the 80s. I'm so far removed from it now that I can't do much with it anymore. It was ok to listen to the album. But I probably won't do it again. 3/5
Tom Waits is always great. The sound is scratchy and dirty. I find it interesting and am always captivated by it. 4/5
I've always liked the music of The Cure. Staring at the Sea inspired me. Robert Smith's voice is unmistakable and great. A Forest is one of my favorite songs ever. And yet I missed this album, although not all of it. Good to have heard it now. 5/5
The album was a lot of fun. I will listen to it again. 4/5
I really enjoyed this album. Good brass, good saxophone, great voice, great rhythms. 4/5
The dance floor will shake at a barn dance in Texas. I am not a Texan and I wouldn't visit such an event. I don't like American-Texan folk music any more than I like German Schlager. I can't get anything out of the music. 1/5
This heavy metal was too heavy for me. I can imagine that in the right environment and mood it really gets going. Sugar is the only track that I really like. No wonder, it's the most civilized and harmonious or tame one on the album. 3/5
The album is great. The track 'Father was a Rolling Stone' is one of my favorites. It's a must at every party and I always listen to it enthusiastically. 5/5
And I still don't like rap. I can remember a song by Missy Elliott that I quite liked. But that was a long time ago. I can't do anything with that music. I played the first few songs. I usually fast-forwarded after the first aggressive chant. I found it amazing that the transitions, although randomly chosen, were not audible. No, I really don't need that. 1/5
Gorillaz by the Gorillaz. I don't really need to hear that anymore. It's my favorite album by the band and one of my favorites. At the beginning of the 2000s, I heard Clint Eastwood and also saw the accompanying clip. I was thrilled and still am. 5/5
I could have known from the title of the album "Sweetheart Of The Rodeo" that I wouldn't be able to do anything with it. I listened to the first three tracks and switched on after a few seconds, so perhaps the Byrds have succeeded in playing country music immersively on this album. All the more reason for me not to enjoy it. You probably have to be Texan and have a lot to do with rodeo to listen to music like this. It annoys me, just like Bavarian folklore, German Schlager and German folky music. 1/5
Jim Morrison's voice is unmistakable. As are the rhythm and the sound of the band. A great album that I wasn't that familiar with. I will certainly listen to it again. 5/5
The music was pleasant, played unobtrusively in the background and was not distracting. But it wasn't particularly impressive either. I probably won't listen to it again so soon. 3/5
I have fond memories of The The. So I was very excited about the album. OK, the 80s new wave synth pop is easy to recognize. The music was ok. However, there was nothing on it that I absolutely have to listen to again. 3/5
Elvis made great music in his time. I still find some of his songs outstanding today. That's how I feel about "In the Gettho" and "Suspicious Minds" on this album. I found the rest of the album rather meaningless to corny. Maybe that's my problem with Elvis. I never really liked him, so although I really like 2 tracks on the album, I probably won't listen to it again. 3/5
I liked the album surprisingly well. Originally I thought I would finish it quickly, just listen to a few tracks and then move on to something else. But, even if the music doesn't suit my style, I will listen to one or two tracks again. 3/5
The rough and boozy voice of Lemmy, the crazy, dirty, fast sound of the band. That's great fun. However, I'm not always in the mood for it. That's why I rarely listen to Motörhead. 3/5
I had never heard of Robert Wyatt before. The proximity to art rock is unmistakable. And so much of the album reminds me of Genesis or Pink Floyd. Unfortunately, the album didn't convince me enough to be completely enthusiastic. But Robert Wyatt and his album will definitely get a second chance. 3/5
I've never heard of this band. I like the album. Very melodic. I'd like to listen to it again. 4/5
This is great music. Hugh Masekela was unknown to me until now. I liked the album very much. I will certainly be listening to more from Masekela. 5/5
I was looking forward to the album. I clearly recognized the punk and I had probably forgotten what punk meant. Somehow I hardly noticed the difference between the songs. Everything sounded very similar. And then it was actually enough to listen to one song. That was fun, but that was enough. 2/5
I found the album pretty boring. It was playing in the background. It was suitable for suppressing the street noise. There was nothing to catch my attention at any point. Even "Everything is not Lost", which was described by some as the best track, I found extremely unimpressive. But it didn't bother me. 2/5
Obviously I haven't listened to this album in its entirety in the past. It was probably always the same three songs. "Wanted Dead or Alive", "You Give Love a Bad Name" and especially "Livin' on a Prayer" kept popping up on party playlists. These songs are indeed fun at a party. The rest is insignificant and boring. But now I understand better why my brother, who sees himself more in the heavy metal corner, reacted rather sourly when he was compared to Bon Jovi. 2/5
I really liked the album. I like this light, upbeat sound. I find it surprising that this is an album from the 80s. 4/5
I hadn't heard of the group before. The album may have been the starting signal for heavy metal, but from today's perspective it seems rather boring. I won't be listening to the album or the band again any time soon. 2/5
Yes, the album may be old. But the music is great, just like Aretha's voice. There is music that almost only works in a historical context, for example because it was the impetus or expression of a new development, but sounds outdated and flat today. And there is music that was and is great. This album also belongs to this kind of music. 5/5
Morrissey has a beautiful and very distinctive voice. I like the music on the album. However, he is also a provocateur and that makes it difficult for me to be enthusiastic. The idea of separating politics and music (or even sport) is nonsensical, especially when the music is used to convey the ideas. That's why I'll still be happy to listen to a Morrissey song from time to time, but otherwise I'll tend to avoid him. 3/5
It's amazing, I thought I'd like drum 'n bass. In a list of important D'nB artists I find Aquasky, DJ Food, Lamb and The Prodigy. All bands that I love. If this album is a milestone and essential work of the D'nB genre, I don't think I like it. I listened to a few pieces from the album. They reminded me of the terrific band 'Kraftwerk', only not nearly as good, very monotonous (and that compared to a band that performed 'Autobahn') and totally boring. Then I saw that the whole album has 3 hours of playing time. For what? Forever the same sequence? Maybe you have to take drugs to get into it. But even then, I'd rather listen to something else. 1/5
A great album. On a trip through California, I listened to a lot of "Tears for Fears" in the car. I didn't knew the album "Songs From The Big Chair", but a lot of it was on the best-of that I remember fondly. They were rightly on it. Nice to have heard this album in its entirety. It certainly wasn't the last time. 5/5
Yes, there are some Talking Heads songs that I like. But I can't find one on this album. Maybe it's because of the current circumstances, the album annoyed me from time to time. I won't be listening to it again any time soon. 3/5
I've always had a problem with Prince. I don't like his voice and his attitude. He's a bit too exhaled for me. There are a few quite good tracks on the album. I like "When Doves Cry" and "Purple Rain". I don't get on so well with the rest. 3/5
At some point I heard something about Garbage and thought I should listen to it more closely. It fell into oblivion. It's nice that this has changed. I find the music on the album very interesting. Manson has a great voice, the sound takes me away. It certainly wasn't the last time I listened to this album. 4/5
I like the album. It has the great Led Zeppelin sound. I like Robert Plant's voice and the hard rock of the band. And then there's the great song Kashmir, one of my favorite songs. I don't know if I'll listen to the whole album often, but I'll listen to Kashmir again and again. 5/5
A remarkable album. If The Who claim that Tommy was created uninfluenced and completely independently, they must have been living under a rock and unaware of their scene. I didn't know the album until today. The sound reminds me of the early songs by Pink Floyd, perhaps not quite as wacky. A great album. 4/5
I liked the album. I've often heard something from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs that has convinced me more than their debut album. This album is one of them. I like the singer's voice. I'm looking forward to more songs from the band. 4/5
It remains the same, whether black, white or any other shade, I only like hip hop in exceptional cases. I just don't understand it. It's the same here. The aggressive shouting of the kids makes me aggressive myself. I was surprised when I read that the Dust Brothers produced the album. Their film music is one of my favorites. This album is far away from this. 1/5
The album has been in my collection for a long time. I haven't listened to it for a while. So it was good to find it again. I like William Orbit. I like his sound. Unfortunately, I'm a little disappointed with this album. He's done better work. 3/5
When I read some of the other reviews, I thought, "Oh, Brit-pop, I'm sure I'll like this". Well, it was ok. I wasn't particularly impressed by the album. There wasn't a song on it that stuck in my mind. I probably won't listen to the album again. 3/5
I like the album very much. A great soft sound. Sometimes very soft, then funky again. Good vocals. 4/5
I've rarely listened to Meat Loaf, but I usually like it when I do. There are great songs on the album. I also like to think of Meat Loaf's appearances in various films. He was great in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" as Eddie and really great in "Fight Club" as Bob Paulson and as The Lizard in "51st State". 4/5
A very good album. It was fun to listen to, especially the title song 'London Calling'. That's one of my top songs. 3/5
Beyoncé makes music that I only rarely hear on the radio. However, I read in an interview that her voice and vocal volume are truly remarkable. So I thought it would be worth giving the album a try. I quickly came to the conclusion that the attempt was fruitless. It may be that the voice is great. But what does she make of it? Really boring pop with a lot of squawking. What do people like about it? What are they applauding for? I can think of a quote from Dangerous Loves. The tenor doesn't get applause for clearing his throat. I thought there was a lot of truth in it, but I'm obviously wrong, at least with Beyoncé. There is no zero rating, so there is a second point for the certainly great voice. 2/5
With today's album, the notes are written quickly and in advance of listening to the whole thing. The album is great. I was belatedly excited about Nevermind at the time, the album was hard to get at my usual retailers. That's when In Utero fell into my hands. I was thrilled. And I still am. 5/5
I have never heard of "The Darkness" and their album. After I played the first few tracks, the music increasingly got on my nerves. The singer does manage to sing high falsetto notes without it becoming screeching. But I still didn't like it. 1/5
A great album. I really enjoyed listening to it in its entirety and not just the best-known "Walk on the Wild Side". Apart from that, I'm not that familiar with Lou Reed. I'll do something about that. 5/5
Somehow the album is funny. The music fits the cover very well. A confused extended family crawls out of the forest and plays at a medieval festival. The vocals are not bad at all. The whole arrangement seems very amateurish and sounds thin. In fact, some of the harmonies remind me of the psychedelic passages and experimentation of some of the real greats of the time. Nevertheless, after playing a few tracks, I had had enough of the bumbling. 2/5
At some point, my wife drew my attention to this album from her collection. I didn't know it yet and was thrilled. Since then, Seven Nation Army has been a permanent fixture in my favorite songs and party playlists. I find it remarkable that I always had the impression that I had heard this album in my early youth. Great 5/5
I enjoyed the album a lot, not only because of Paranoid and Iron Man, but also because of that.
I had fun listening to this album. In the end it will not one of my favorites. 4/5
I don't like most live albums. This album is good and it seems to me that the band had fun. It wasn't particularly challenging to listen to the album. However, there was no track that I absolutely have to listen to again. 3/5
I still don't like hip hop. 1/5
I liked the album. I can understand Bowie's own description of his music on the album as Plastic Soul. I am always impressed by his voice. Overall, this album is not one of my top favorites, but it was still good to listen to. 4/5
Funny, American punk. It was a lot of fun to listen to that. But it doesn't have to happen again. 3/5
I had placed Alice in Chains more in the gothic area. I was probably wrong. In fact, the right genre is grunge. I hadn't noticed the album before, but I liked it. It won't be one of my top favorites. But it was good to have heard it. 3/5
The French chatter gets on my nerves. Serge's whispered chanting and Jane's breathy melodies make me more aggressive than the hip hop I don't appreciate. 1/5
Too bad, I thought I would hear new blues for myself. There were also a few good approaches. Nevertheless, it did not meet my taste at any point. More and more the music got on my nerves. When I jumped for minutes in individual pieces and didn't notice any change, I stopped the album. 1/5
I don't listen to R.E.M. that often, but I really like a few of their songs. I didn't hear any of them on this album. The music didn't bother me, but that's all it was. I probably won't listen to it again. 3/5
I wasn't expecting much. But the album was pleasant to listen to. I always like Working Class Hero. In the end, I probably won't listen to the album again. 3/5
I don't like hip hop. I think it's a shame with this album in particular. There are great vocal passages and fine choruses. The vocals are great. But I can't do anything with the chanting. I always enjoy listening to Ready or Not, Killing Me Softly and No Woman No Cry. I only played the rest of the album and skipped it. 2/5
Boring. I gave up listening after 4 tracks. 1/5
It was nice to hear Fats Domino again after a long time. Unfortunately, the album was not fully available on my streaming service. Although I like the music, I won't hear it again anytime soon. 3/5
Not bad at all. I had expected something much more esoteric. At some points the music reminded me of Protishead. However, the sound is a bit too ethereal for me. Interesting, but I don't have an urgent desire to listen to it again. 3/5
The album didn't bother me. However, I didn't particularly like it either. I don't think I'll listen to it again. 3/5
Ein sehr schönes Album von Ray Charles. Vielleicht etwas angestaubt. Ich habe es aber gern gehört. 4/5
I had fond memories of Adam & The Ants. Apparently my taste has changed a bit since my youth. I thought the album was quite funny in parts. But it didn't really impress me. I won't be listening to it again so soon. 3/5
The first rock concert I went to was by Peter Gabriel for the album Melt in Berlin. It was very exciting. I wasn't that impressed by the album Car. Of course Solsbury Hill is still great. I thought Excuse Me was funny. Many elements remind me of the early and experimental pieces by Genesis. It was interesting to listen to the album. But it's not one of my favorites. 3/5
One of the last commentators wrote, does anyone like techno? Well, me for example. I'm glad to have been at one of the last Love Parades. But this album is not techno. It's far too slow for that. Yes, it's not even trance. It's electronic music. A bit psychedelic. It sounds like Chemical Brothers, sometimes like The Prodigy, then again like Trent Reznor. I liked it. The album won't be one of my top favorites either. But I will certainly listen to it again. 4/5
The album reminds me of the very early Beatles. Sometimes a bit more psychedelic. I enjoyed listening to it. But I won't be doing it again any time soon. 3/5
I hadn't heard of the Black Keys before. I like the album. I'll definitely listen to it again. 4/5
I keep trying, but I can't do anything with rap and hip hop. This album is no exception. I played a few tracks and quickly moved on. 1/5
A great album. I took the opportunity to listen to it again in its entirety. Not only LA Woman and Riders on the Storm are remarkable. The other tracks are also great. 5/5
That's not music for me. I'd rather listen to hip hop, which I don't like at all. I've heard enough of this music blaring out of the open windows of our little oriental friends' overpowered cars. 1/5
I tried it with a lot of goodwill. After four pieces, the music got on my nerves, so I stopped. I really didn't miss this album. 1/5
Unfortunately, the album is not available from my streaming provider. Instead, I listened to a collection of other tracks by XTC. I already knew the band and I like their music. I probably would have liked the album too. 4/5
Hip hop once again. I only listened to it briefly. There were actually a few melodies that seemed interesting. Beyond that, I only heard the usual gangsta chatter and didn't feel like getting into it any further. 1/5
I'm just not in the mood for Taylor Swift. The fuss about her gets on my nerves. I tried it later on. It doesn‘t change anything. I don‘t like this music. 1/5
I also finished the album quickly. Hip-hop. A quick listen. I don't like it. Then I can listen to good music now. 1/5
This is country music that, contrary to my usual reservations about this music, I can listen to well. I was pleased to be able to listen to The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. I had only heard cover versions before, including the German fake version by Juliane Werding. Although it certainly wasn't a waste of time, I probably won't be listening to the album again any time soon. 3/5
I was initially skeptical about the album because of the cover. I found the music surprisingly good. I probably won't listen to it again soon, but I wouldn't shy away from it. 3/5
I've never heard of the band. I really like it very much. Great music and great voices. I will certainly listen to more of it. 4/5
I wasn't expecting much. I liked the album surprisingly well. I didn't realize that I already knew so many of the tracks on the album without having really categorized them. I think I'll listen to the album again. 4/5
And yet another album by The Band. I don't mind this kind of country rock. It's actually quite nice to listen to it. I'm sure it's nice to listen to them on long drives through the USA, but I'm not looking for this kind of music and probably won't listen to this album again. 3/5
That is the definition of punk. Other bands and albums have to measure themselves against it. For me, it's neither a genre nor music for every day, but sometimes it's really fun. 4/5
I wasn't even aware of Marianne Faithfull's album. I heard some of it from friends back then, but never felt the need to own the album myself. I think the voice is great, but it can also get on my nerves in the long run. Alongside Broken English and Workingclass Hero, I particularly liked the track Why'd Ya Do It. 4/5
A great album. It was released before my time. As a teenager, the hype surrounding the Beatles got on my nerves. I loathed them with all my heart. It wasn't until much later that I realized how big the influence of the band and their music had far beyond their time. And this album in particular contains some gems of pop music. I'll definitely listen to the album again. 5/5
I never listened to the whole album. Of course I knew the song School's Out. I thought it was timeless. An unsuccessful attempt to get my nephew excited about it, especially when he was in the right situation, proved me wrong. But now, I've listened to the album in its entirety. It wasn't what I expected, it was better. A really great album with interesting influences from different musical genres. It was a lot of fun. The album is worth listening to again. 5/5
In the brightly colored pop world, you can't escape Mariah Carey. She may have an incredibly good singing voice. But her music gets on my nerves so much that I only played 2 tracks on the album and it's a shame to waste my time listening to more of it. Similar to Beyoncé, I would have to give the album an extra point for Mariah's good voice. However, similar to Taylor Swift - whose voice is not as remarkable - I don't feel like doing that. 1/5
A really shrill album. I haven't heard anything from Nick Cave's first band yet. But you recognize him immediately. I would describe the music as caustic in places. Nevertheless, I find it so interesting that I'm going to listen to the album again. 4/5
I haven't listened to Supergrass for a long time. They're not in my daily music stream. It was fun to listen to them again. Music from this album will probably be added to my stream again now. 4/5
I had never heard of the Afgan Whigs before. I liked the music. I will definitely listen to the album again, even if it won't be one of my favorites. 4/5
I only got to know The Smiths after a friend who knew that I really liked The Cure drew my attention to them. Despite all my reservations about Morrisey, I find their voice interesting. And so I also find this album, which I haven't heard so explicitly before, exciting. It's not one of my top albums, but it's worth listening to again. 4/5
It's nice to hear an album by the Pixies again. It was fun. 4/5
Of course, I already knew Birdland beforehand. The song is still played everywhere and is a real hit. I wasn't familiar with the band or the album. It's nice that this has now changed. I like the music and the rhythm. Even if I don't like the whole album, I will listen to individual tracks again and again. 4/5
I really liked the album. I think it's pretty cool. 4/5
It's been a long time since I listened to Sonic Youth. It was nice to hear them again. Some of the music isn't very catchy, but I still enjoy it. 4/5
I always enjoy listening to Beck. I like his voice and his music. I didn't know Sea Change before. It's a nice album, even if it is a bit more melancholy. I'll definitely listen to it again. 5/5
I liked the album surprisingly well. I always enjoy listening to Neil Young from time to time. 4/5
Great. Rolling Stones again. Two of my favorite songs are on the album. Sympathy for the Devil and Street Fighting Man. I really enjoyed listening to the album. 5/5
I tried listening to the album. I found it quite interesting at first. Then Around the World was the end. The constant and monotonous repetitions got on my nerves. I then abandoned the album. 2/5
A great album. I've never heard it in its entirety before. I already knew some of the tracks, just from the concerts I've attended. I didn't realize that this was the follow-up album to Black Celebration, which I've always enjoyed listening to. It's great to have heard the whole album now. 5/5
The album was fun. Janis Joplin has a characteristic and great voice. The old rock tube. I had almost forgotten Piece of My Heart. I didn't know the version of Summertime yet and I really liked it. 4/5
I had a song by Public Enemy in the back of my mind, but I can't find it anymore. The background music to the aggressive chanting was quite interesting at times. But it didn't encourage me to listen to more of the album than short snippets of a few tracks. Hip hop is not my genre (is it music?) 1/5
I have heard Bruce Springsteen live again and again at the continental Nights of the Proms. That was always thrilling. This album contains some of his greatest hits. Nevertheless, I can't do that much with it. I probably won't look for this album on purpose. 3/5
Miles Davis' jazz may be brilliant, but sometimes I don't understand it and then it's too exhausting for me. It was the same with this album. I couldn't cope with the first track. I thought the rest of it was really cool. I think I'll listen to it again. 4/5
Pretty cool pop. The voice reminds me of Annie Lennox. I really liked downtempo for a while. My taste has changed in the meantime. But maybe I'll listen to it again now. 4/5
A great album. I particularly enjoyed listening to Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger again. 5/5
Relaxed music with nice melodies. But a bit boring in the long run. 3/5
I found the music quite interesting at first. From the middle of the album onwards, it got on my nerves, so I stopped listening. I'll probably never listen to it again and won't miss anything. 2/5
Therefore only 4/5
I've never heard of Happy Mondays. The album has a great title. Very funny. I really enjoyed the music. Maybe it won't be one of my top albums, but I can well imagine listening to it again. If there were 4.5 points, I would give it. So 9 out of 10. 4/5
Yes, the Chemical Brothers. I haven't listened to the album for a long time. It's time to change that. I can still remember the songs well. However, they are currently too hot and sweaty for me in this hot weather. 4/5
Frank Zappa as a horror clown? The album is much older than Pennywise. I like some of Frank Zappa's stuff. Some of it is certainly brilliant, but too exhausting for me. That's how I felt about this album. I listened to it all the way through. Some things were great. In the end, I was glad I'd finished it. I probably won't listen to the album again so soon. 3/5
The music is so sweet that I got a toothache after 2 songs. I don't like German Schlager. Why should American soft pop be any better? 1/5
I was very interested in the band. The genre appealed to me. I liked the cover. I also liked the first track. It may be that the music on the album is quite exciting. It got on my nerves towards the end of the album. I probably won't listen to it again. 2/5
It's nice to hear that raggea can be made by more than just Bob Marley. I listened to the album, but I wasn't very interested in it. The track Legalize caught my attention though, because after the legalization of cannabis, the discussion on the subject continues to be big, fierce and emotional. 3/5
A great album. Carole King has a great voice and makes cool music. The album isn't one of my top favorites, but it's worth listening to again. 4/5
An unagitated album that played in the background without any conspicuous features. Not bad, but not remarkable either. At two points, John Cale's voice reminded me of John Watts from Fisher-Z. 3/5
I was looking forward to Iron Butterfly. In particular, I had fond memories of the eponymous piece In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Although an American band, much of the music reminded me of the then reviled Krautrock, which was truly revolutionary. Unfortunately, Iron Butterfly could not fulfill my expectations. It was quite interesting to listen to the album. But it won't happen again so soon. 3/5
I'm quickly done with that again today. Hip hop is not music. I listened to the album briefly, played 3 tracks and was immediately satisfied. That was all I needed. It's not my genre. 1/5
I couldn't remember Pretty in Pink at all, although I also listened to Talk Talk Talk in the 80s. Overall, the album didn't particularly impress me, but it didn't bother me either. 3/5
I didn't particularly like the album. I thought Breakdown was the best. I couldn't do much with American Girl. I listened to the whole album and the best thing I can say about it is that it didn't bother me. 3/5
There were some very refreshing mixes on the album. Some tracks rather alienated me. It was interesting to listen to this album. It probably won't happen again so soon. 3/5
A very nice album. I was familiar with the top hits It's The End Of The World and The One I Loved. I don't think I've heard the rest of the album yet. I quite liked it. But it probably won't be on my playlist very often. 3/5
When I was young, I often listened to Dazzle Ship, the successor to this album, and was thrilled. Much of this album reminded me of it. I only knew Joan of Arc from earlier times. Overall, I really liked the album. I should add OMD to my music feed more often. 5/5
I listened to the first two tracks on the album. There were interesting melodies in them, but it became too African for me. I therefore stopped listening further. 2/5
Even though there are many versions of the same songs on the album, which made it so long, it was a lot of fun. It's a great album. 5/5
I hadn't heard of Todd Rundgren before. Apparently I hadn't missed anything either. I already found the first and apparently best-known track "I saw the light" pretty boring. I was bored listening to three more tracks and then skipped straight to "Hello it's me", which - surprise surprise - I also found boring. Conclusion, a boring album. At least it didn't get on my nerves. 2/5
I've never heard of the Beta Band. I really like the music. I think I'll listen to it more often. 4/5
I haven't heard anything from Peter Frampton for a long time. I don't particularly like his music either. A few songs aren't bad though. It was nice to hear "Baby, I Love Your Way" again. But it also sounds very flat in the recording. Maybe I'm used to a larger sound volume by now or maybe it was just normal at the time to achieve a rather thin sound in live recordings. But that wasn't the case with other bands. 3/5
This is not my favorite Peppers album. I only got to know the band in 1999 with Californication and was enthusiastic about their music. The earlier stuff and this album are a bit unwieldy for me. Maybe it's also because of the white hip hop parts, which I usually can't do much with. There are also some great tracks on the album. I can listen to Under The Bridge in particular over and over again. 4/5
My goodness, what a boring record. I played 3 tracks, tried to skip the boring intro, only to find that it remained so boring. 1/5
That's reggae! Very cool. A great album. I've never listened to it in full before. Now I remember why I actually like reggae. Peter Tosh's album from this series didn't convince me. But this album is great. I find it remarkable that the first 10 tracks only make up about half of the album. The last 2 12" tracks are great. The long version of Jamming in particular already has clear DUB elements, which I really like. 4/5
I knew Thin Lizzy by name, but I don't seem to have heard anything active from them. The album is great. And long. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to listen to it in full. What I did hear was fun. I'll certainly catch up on the rest. 4/5
I remember classical pop music from the early eighties. If I remember correctly, I already found it boring back then. That hasn't changed to this day. I'm not wasting my time listening to it again. 1/5
I like electronic music. I like Klaus Schulze, the pioneer in the sector. Or Kraftwerk, with a slightly different direction. I like trance or a bit of techno in between. I also like Philip Glass and minimalist music. But this album is boring. I'd rather listen to cars driving on a wet road, as I'm currently doing. That's more exciting. What did someone write in the comments? The discovery of elevator music? Maybe the album isn't a discovery, but it could be the definition of this. 2/5
I've never heard of the album or the project. But it's a lot of fun. That's exactly the kind of thing I do with One Album a Day. 4/5
I had almost completely forgotten about "Talkin' Bout a Revolution", "Fast Car" and "Baby Can I Hold You". Tracy Chapman has a great voice. The music is great, even if I don't particularly like conceptual folk/roots rock. All in all, an album that I liked very much, that I heard in its entirety for the first time in this project and that I want to hear again. 4/5
Uninteresting. Boring. After listening to 3 tracks, I didn't feel like wasting any more time with the album. 2/5
It's remarkable how unimaginative some great musicians are when it comes to choosing titles for their first albums. Tracy Chapman's first album was called Tracy Chapman, Marla Glenn's first album was called This is Marla Glenn and now McCartney by Paul McCartney. Wouldn't Mc have been enough? Or would the risk of confusion with Ronald have been too great? Either way, the album was fun and I really liked some of the tracks. I'll gladly listen to it again. 4/5
I was really looking forward to blues and soul with Ray Charles. Unfortunately, my expectations were not fulfilled. The album title actually says it all: country and western music. I can't usually get into these genres. But hey, it's Ray Charles. so give it a try. And there were also 2 or 3 very nice tracks on the album. However, the music mainly reminded me of somewhat corny film music from classic western films in black and white. After just under an hour, I'd had enough. I probably won't listen to this album in its entirety. 3/5
I finished this album quickly. Amy Winehouse had a great voice. Her music was great. She was eccentric and unfortunately broke herself far too soon. Back To Black is a great album that I haven't listened to for a while but will listen to again on this occasion. 5/5
I liked the album surprisingly well. I haven't heard any of it yet. It won't be one of my favorites, but maybe I'll listen to it again. 3/5
I haven't listened to the album for a while. Good opportunity to change that today. I first became acquainted with the band through the track Scar Tissue. That was an eye-opener for me. I've since had the pleasure of seeing the Peppers live a few times. It's incredible how much energy they have. Californication is a great album. 5/5
The song Green Onions keeps popping up in my playlists. It's so cool and always fun. I've never heard the rest of the album before. Unfortunately, the guys don't manage to keep the level as high as on their opening track. Overall, the album was quite fun, but reminded me in part of the music at private parties where a solo entertainer wanted to try out the possibilities of his new synthesizer. I will continue to listen to the Green Onions track with enthusiasm, but probably not the rest of the album. 3/5
I was really looking forward to the Eurythmics album. The track Sweet Dreams in particular is still great. Unfortunately, I wasn't particularly interested in the rest of the album. It's too 80s, and they weren't always nice.
I was curious to see what the album would be like. My relationship with ELP has always been somewhat ambivalent. I was enthusiastic about Lucky Man and I can remember standing in front of the album in the record store for a long time as a teenager and thinking about buying it. But then it was too expensive for me and I wasn't convinced. So now I've listened to it. It was good that I saved the money as a teenager. I wouldn't have been able to cope with the album. And even now I find it quite exhausting. There were some nice passages on the album. But all in all, I don't think I'll listen to this album again. 3/5
A well-known Stones album. However, in my opinion it is not particularly successful. It seems kind of irrelevant to me. The story behind the cover is the most interesting thing about it. 3/5
It brings back memories of my dark gothic days. A weird time that only began for me well after the release of this album, but then lasted a while. In this respect, the Sisters were a rediscovery for me. Nice to see them here again. I'm curious to see if I still like the album as much. Ok, now that I've listened to the album again, I realize that the fascination has disappeared. I still like a few things. Dominion and This Corrosion are among them. But the album won't be integrated into my daily stream. 3/5
Frank Sinatra's music reminds me of movie music from the 50s. That's no coincidence, of course. After all, he also made a lot of film music. Listening to this music gives me the sleepy feeling of a Sunday afternoon on TV in rainy fall weather. It's quite nice and cozy. But I won't be listening to it more often. 3/5
Janis Joplin, the old rock star. I like listening to her every now and then. I liked the tracks 'Cry Baby' and 'Me and Bobby McGee' on the album. I was surprised by 'Mercedes Benz'. I didn't know that song. I had a lot of fun listening to it. All in all, I won't be listening to the album again any time soon. 3/5
I keep trying, I just can't get that much out of Prince, maybe he was a musical genius. Even though he inspired many other musicians I like, I can't get on with him. And it's the same with this album. Maybe it's great, but I don't feel that way. I probably won't listen to it again. 2/5
A terrible noise. I can't get anything out of this droning noise. I find machine noise more pleasant. Slipknot sounds as if the machine is broken. Unfortunately, there is no redeeming silence. So I had to stop playing after 3 minutes. 1/5
I've never heard The Velvet Underground's album before. I liked it a lot. It probably doesn't fit into my daily playlist, but it would be a candidate for it. 3/5
After the first few bars of the album I was a bit skeptical, but as the album progressed I became more and more interested. The album is a cool mix of soul and funk. And when Sly really takes his time, as in SexMachine, it becomes psychedelic. It was fun to listen to. It's worth listening to these 1000 albums for discoveries like this. 5/5
As so often, I have only listened to individual tracks from this album (All Along The Watchtower and Voodoo Child), but never the whole album. It was worth it. A great album. 5/5
Actually, Cat Stevens' music is exactly the kind of music that was strummed around the campfire by zeitgeist-moving teenagers in my day. I found it quite annoying back then. So I had rather low expectations of this album. But I was wrong. I liked it a lot. I had almost forgotten about Wild World and Father And Son. And it was nice to hear them again. The music won't make it into my daily stream, but I'll be happy to listen to it again in between. 4/5
I always find the Kinks a bit difficult. In my opinion, they were always a bit like the Beatles. I can't say whether the bands influenced each other, whether the inspiration only went in one direction or whether both bands existed largely independently. But it seems to me that the Beatles would have developed more quickly. I particularly liked two tracks on the album that I had almost forgotten about. Death of a Clowns and Waterloo Sunset. I also liked Two Sisters, Tin Soldier Man and Afternoon Tea. Pieces like the latter give me the cozy feeling of an afternoon tea house visit in rainy weather. 4/5
The music is part of the soundtrack of my early youth. I like to listen to Neil Young from time to time for this sentimental reason. I found this album rather boring. Only Down By The River was nice to listen to again. 2/5
Interesting album. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about it either. It's questionable whether I'll listen to it again. 3/5
A really nice album. 4/5
I quite like the music. I particularly liked What's Going On, Mercy Mercy Me and Inner City Blues. But I probably wasn't in the right mood when I heard it. In this respect, the rating is worse than it might have been at another time. 3/5
Somehow I don't get on with Talking Heads anymore. This album didn't inspire me either. I didn't listen to it in its entirety. The voice reminded me of my favorite piece of the band, Psycho Killer. I quite liked the track Life During Wartime. But that didn't persuade me to listen to the rest. 3/5
I liked the album surprisingly well. The 80s were sometimes terrible. The smooth jazz was quite nice. However, the album as a whole didn't excite me enough to make me want to listen to it more often, even though individual tracks are very nice. 3/5
The album was interesting. I'll have to listen to it again. 3/5
An interesting album. I enjoyed listening to it. Maybe it will find its way into my daily stream. 3/5
I had fond memories of the Dead Kennedys. However, I must have forgotten how punky they are. This is particularly evident on this album. It's definitely fun at a wild party in between. Right now it is too exhausting for me. 3/5
Jacques Brel may be a very good and important chanson singer. If I remember correctly, I also like one or two of his songs. I think the track Amsterdam is one of them. However, I can't do much with the live version of the album. I have also realized that chansons are obviously not my preferred music genre. It joins the rap, country and hip hop genres that I have avoided. As I read in another comment, I can live very well without having heard this album. 1/5
Of course I knew the album. The cover is great and a justifiably widespread meme. In fact, I've never heard the album in its entirety, only individual tracks. It was worth catching up now. 5/5
I liked the album a lot. At first I also had the impression that David Bowie wasn't quite at the top of his game anymore. There were also many disappointed voices about the album. As the album progressed, however, I noticed the high quality of the album. It was probably not his best and most impressive work. That is also difficult to judge with such a dazzling creator. But, even if I like other albums better, it's a very good album. 3/5
I don't really like country music. To my surprise, I didn't like this album that much. I probably won't listen to it again, but for this time I found it quite interesting. 3/5
The album reminds me a lot of wave and especially of the 'Neue Deutsche Welle' at the beginning of the 80s. I think I've heard something similar from DAF, Extrabreit and early gothic bands. It was interesting to hear something like that again. But that's enough for now. 3/5
The second Elton John album I've listened to as part of this project. And again I'm quite taken with it. I had already forgotten the piece "Tiny Dancer". It was nice to hear it again. I think I will listen to this album again. Will I become a fan of Elton John? Probably not, but I will probably give up my previously rather negative attitude. 5/5
I enjoyed listening to 'Lazy Sunday' again after a long time. Beyond that, I found the album rather boring. I probably won't listen to it again. 3/5
I've listened to New Order before. Back then, I was really into wave, electronic and gothic music. In the meantime, my taste has changed somewhat. I was able to listen to the album well. It didn't bother me, but it didn't excite me either. I probably won't listen to it again. 3/5
A great album. It's surprising how innovative the Beatlrs were at the time. I was delighted to hear many well-known hits again. 5/5
I like Tom Waits. I like his smoky, boozy voice. I like his music. I don't like the album. It may have been a recording of a great live performance. If you weren't there, his introductions to the tracks are simply too long. That bloats the whole album to over an hour. And it's not worth it. 3/5
Today it's easy again. Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells is one of my all-time favorites. I heard the music for the first time as a 14-year-old teenager and was thrilled. As a 15 year old, I then bought the boxed set of 4 albums. I spent a lot of my pocket money on it back then, even though I desperately needed it for gasoline and cigarettes. This album was my favorite of the collection at first. It took me a while to get into Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn and Callaboration. It was only very late that I found out that Tubular Bells was also the theme music to the film The Excorcist. I didn't like Mike Oldfield's later albums (i.e. after Boxed) nearly as much. Especially the pop stuff he did together with his sister I find highly uninteresting today. I also found the follow-up Tubular Bells X (with X >= 2) really boring. In this respect, I had already given up on Mike Oldfield and occasionally listened to Tubular Bells again. Then, more by chance, I came across the album Amarok, the poisened farewell gift to Virgin. Back to Tubular Bells, the album deserves to be in this canon of 1001 albums more than many others. 5/5
Although I'm very familiar with the Pixies, I wasn't aware that Frank Black had a solo project. After listening to the first few tracks on the album, I wanted to abandon the whole thing in frustration. I couldn't cope with the music. But the album kept playing at first. The music reminded me a little of Nirwana, mixed with something else interesting. So I let the album play and my interest in Frank Black grew. I'm not a fan, but that could still happen. 4/5
The album surprised me. I really liked it. I hadn't expected that. Maybe I should listen to more of the band, which I apparently misjudged. 4/5
I just don't get on with African (world) music. I still liked the intro to the first track, a beautifully played acoustic guitar. But when the vocals started, it became too strange for me. The 2nd piece was ok, but I wasn't particularly interested. I only listened to two other pieces and then stopped the whole thing. 2/5
I was surprised. After the rather below-average reviews, I was expecting the worst. But I quite liked the album. There are a lot of repetitions in the pieces. But that fits perfectly with a minimalist soundscape. And I find something like that very appealing. Peter Glass and Klaus Schulze's spherical sounds are also part of my repertoire. And the album fits in well with that. I will certainly listen to it again. 4/5
I didn't find Nick Drake's album particularly impressive. The music was quite nice and I think nice is really nice. (I think the saying "Nice is the little sister of shit" is shit :-)) But that's all it is. I won't listen to the album again on purpose, but I won't switch it off when I get to it. 3/5
I was surprised. Misled by the cover, I had expected more K-pop. I found the album quite funny and cheerful. It won't appear in my daily stream, but it was fun. 3/5
Yet another album that doesn't interest me at all. Maybe dance isn't a genre for me either. I like listening to techno or trance. I have no problem with repetitive music. But this simple stomping produced by a rhythm machine is boring. After a few tracks, I finished the whole thing. 1/5
Contrary to the rather mediocre reviews from the community, I didn't think the album was that bad. It won't be part of my daily stream, but it was quite interesting in parts. 3/5
I didn't have the band on my radar. I may have heard of them, but I'm no longer aware of it. I wasn't familiar with the song "We Got the Beat" either. I found the album quite funny. The best thing about it was that it reminded me of B'52. But I prefer listening to the B'52, which is even more fun. 3/5
Arrival was the first LP I bought with my pocket money. As a young teenager, I was a fan of ABBA and completely enchanted by the LP. This then cooled off as I became a teenager and changed peer groups after moving to another city. I didn't want to know anything more about ABBA and I was embarrassed by my former fondness. It was a long time before I rediscovered ABBA. Yes, the music is sweet to the tooth. It is pop. Everyone could be carried away by this music. But it is also really well made. Björn and Benny were/are good and multi-talented musicians. They have a good feel for popular music. And the girls looked so good and could also sing so well. ABBA is not in my daily feed and never will be. But sometimes it's nice to hear their music again. So "Thank you for the music ..." It's the same with this album. I particularly liked "Dancing Queen", "Money, Money, Money" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You" because they were also charged with early memories as a teenager. I particularly liked "Fernando" again. 5/5
I first came into contact with Faith no More with the album "Angel Dust". And I thought that album was great. It took me a while to get to The Real Thing. I only got and listened to this album as part of a 4 CD collection. I also think this album is great. However, as I have just checked, I still think "Angel Dust" is better. 4/5
I always had problems with Michael Jackson. There was a lot of hype about him in my day. I always found his attitude a bit annoying. It got really gross and tacky when the subject of his desire to have children came up - barf -, this strange marriage with little Presley, which seemed like a fig leaf to cover his true desires - gag - and this rather creepy Neverland Farm. In the end, Jackson (also optical) almost seemed like a horror clown. The Earth Song was really disgusting, when the multimillionaire dances through the tidy streets of a favela with the objects of his desire and sings about the misery of the world. So I find Michael Jackson disgusting and I could never really get into his music. I always found his sharp cries annoying when he grabbed his balls while dancing. The squealing is also used a lot on this album. I like to switch off the radio from time to time. I really tried to listen to the whole album. At "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" it was over. I couldn't take it anymore. The best thing about the title song "Bad" is the parody "Fat" by Weird Al Yankovic. I really had fun with that. I only just found out that Jackson gave Yankovic permission to produce the parody and use the same setting. I wouldn't have believed him capable of so much humor. But maybe there was something else behind it. I suspect that "Fat" has also boosted sales of "Bad" again. Conclusion: For me, Bad is an unjustly hyped album that I definitely switch off the radio when it is played. 1/5
The longer I take part in this project, the more I come into contact with country music. In the past, I tended to dismiss this type of music, but now I recognize one or two gems in it. Ryan Adams' Heartbreaker is not one of them. I thought the first song was going to be quite interesting. A little later, however, I was so annoyed by the backing vocals in the chorus that I switched to the next track. This happened several times after that. The best thing about the rest of the album was that it didn't interest me. 1/5
I'd already heard something about Suede and had fond memories of them. But I couldn't really categorize them anymore. After the comments I read in advance, I was excited. The comparisons with The Cure, The Smiths, Oasis and David Bowie raised my expectations quite high. Unfortunately, I have to agree with some commentators. The sound is reminiscent of the aforementioned musicians. It's just nowhere near as good. Then I'd rather listen to something else. The fact that the album wasn't particularly annoying is the best thing I can say about it. 3/5
Marvin Gaye is possibly an outstanding soul musician. I don't get on with his music, although I basically like soul. As with another of his albums from this project, I tried to make friends with this album. And again, it got on my nerves relatively quickly. Apparently I don't like Gaye's voice and the way he sings. That's problematic for a vocal-based album. The sound itself is cool. After writing the above I just kept the album playing and - hey - I liked it. It won't be part of my daily feed, but it was quite nice overall. 4/5
I don't usually get on so well with Prince. I always found his persona overly exalted. The music may have been great. It was only exceptionally accessible to me. So my expectations were rather low. The album has clearly surpassed it. I had completely forgotten the 1999 piece. And I also really liked the other tracks. A very good funky album. It was fun listening to it. 4/5
I liked the album surprisingly well. I thought the first few tracks would be boring. And then the album is also so long. But the longer it went on, the better I liked it. I'll gladly listen to it again. 4/5
I was quite interested in this album at first. I hadn't heard anything from k.d. lang before. The beginning wasn't thrilling, but I thought it would develop. As the album progressed, I was less and less interested. After the battery on my speaker gave up the ghost during the 5th track, I didn't feel like listening to the rest of the album. The best thing I can say about the album is that it wasn't annoying. But I didn't have to listen to it either. I later read a few other comments about the album. In one of them, the track Constant Craving was explicitly mentioned and praised. I then listened to this track specifically, and lo and behold, I already knew it. I probably heard it on the radio in the 90s. I liked it then and now. I won't be listening to the rest of the album, but this track will be on my playlist. 3/5
Ella Fitzgerald has a great voice. Gershwin made great music. After listening to too many musicals in my youth, they now get on my nerves. I also can't listen to Gershwin's music for more than 3 hours. And that also applies to this album. After one and a half CDs, I'd had enough. I probably won't listen to the remaining two and a half CDs. It‘s enough. 3/5
Of course Gearge Michael appeared in my playlists at the time. However, his music was always a little too sweet and too pop for me. So I didn't have particularly high expectations when I was presented with this album as part of this project. But I found the first track surprisingly good. It also sounded familiar to me. I remembered Freedom '90 very well and I liked it again after a long time. This album and George Michael will not be in my daily stream. But it was nice to listen to this album. 3/5
I listened to the album. It was playing in the background and nothing stuck with me. So it didn't bother me, but it didn't impress me either. A certain feeling of boredom remains. 3/5
I haven't heard this old big band sound for a long time. I was unfamiliar with the album. I enjoyed listening to it and can imagine doing the same again. 4/5
A great album. I had forgotten what's on it. The starter alone is great. Holiday/Boulevard of brolen Dreams is one of my favorites. And I always enjoy listening to 'Wake me up, when September ends'. Full marks. 5/5
I completely underestimated CCR because I always mistook them for another band. In this project, I finally learned to categorize them better. I already knew the great tracks, but had assigned them differently. Now the band and this album have been given the honor they deserve. 4/5
As soon as I read the title of the album, I thought I'd be done with it quickly. The genre was obvious to me from the name of the group and the album, although I had never heard of either before. Playing the first track was enough for me. I wasn't in the mood for hip hop or to be shouted at by an African-American teenager. Later I did a bit more research on the album and the band. I was interested after all. So I listened to the whole album. It was OK. I'm not going to be a fan of hip hop or the band. But it was interesting. 3/5
When I first heard Bitter Sweet Symphony in 1997, I was thrilled. Back then, music channels like VIVA and MTV were still an important source of information for music and clips. I also liked the video for the song. This song was played over and over again on my music station, so at some point I got tired of it. In the meantime, I can listen to it again in good doses. Even then, I wondered what the rest of the album would sound like. I didn't want to buy the album without further ado. At some point I was able to listen to it. I wasn't particularly interested in it, so I was curious to see how I would get on with the album now. Well, not much has changed. I occasionally listened with interest. But that wasn't enough for me to pay more attention to it. And so the album rushed through on the side. I don't need to listen to it again. 3/5
I like electronic. I think the music of Klaus Schulze, the ex-drummer of Tangerine Dream and THE pioneer of electronic music, is great. Some comments on this album have compared the music of this album to that of Jean Michele Jarre. I really liked the latter as a teenager. I was particularly taken with Oxigène back then. So I was curious to find out what electronic music the unknown French band Justice played on their album. I quickly got the impression that I wouldn't be interested. A large part of the album played in the background. Shortly before the end of the album, the music got on my nerves and I stopped the whole thing. I can easily do without this album. 2/5
Of course I knew who George Harrison was. However, I didn't realize that I had already heard some of his music. I wasn't interested in the Beatles, Lennon, McCartney and certainly Harrison when I was young. It was only recently that I realized the genius of the Beatles' music. And so the solo projects of Lennon and McCartney also became interesting. Unfortunately, I neglected Georrge Harrison. When I started listening to the album, I was a little put off by its length. I wasn't sure if I would listen to it all the way through. That wasn't a problem at all. You can listen to good music for a long time at a stretch. The album is great. 5/5
I don't get on with The Velvet Underground. Of course I know Warhol's iconic banana. I also hear the influence of The Velvet Underground on other bands and music that I love. Nevertheless, I am always unfamiliar with this band. And it's the same with this album. I listened with interest in some places. But the album didn't interest me enough to make me want to listen to it again. 3/5
I always found ZZ Top quite funny, but I never took a closer look at them. I wasn't particularly interested in their music back then. I did listen to some of the songs on the album when they were released. But they weren't among the songs I listened to regularly, and it wasn't until later that I took a closer look at ZZ Top. I now like their music and have even been to a live concert by the old geezers. And so I actually listened to the whole album. It may be a little simple, but it's fun. 4/5
I always enjoy listening to Iggy Pop and the Stooges. As always, this album is a bit rough. But it's fun. 4/5
I don't actually like country music that much. I have changed my mind somewhat, especially in connection with this project. Nevertheless, I remain reserved about the genre. The first bars of the first track on the album confirmed my caution. But it quickly got better. Overall, the album wasn't bad, but it was too much in the country style, which I don't like. 3/5
Steely Dan has been mixed into my PLaylist for a long time. I never really knew why. The name meant nothing to me. However, I had heard something about it in the back of my mind that I really liked. So now this album. And then it came back to me. There are some great pieces in there. The style doesn't quite suit my taste. But I always like to hear something from them. 4/5
Herbie Hancock has done things that I really like. But there are also some pieces where my musical understanding just isn't enough. I just find them exhausting. It was the same with this album. I found the first two tracks great, the last two rather difficult. As good as the whole album may be, I won't be listening to it again any time soon. 3/5
I had never heard of this band before. I was curious. A Scottish electronica/pop band. The best thing I can say about the music is that it played in the background without being too distracting. I wasn't interested in the album. I don't need to and probably won't listen to it again. 3/5
Johnny Cash's voice is remarkable. The selection of tracks on the album is exceptional. I originally knew the track Hurt from Nine Inch Nail. I've heard Cash's version and the version by Secret Discovery, a German dark rock band. I liked Trent Reznor's original best. But Cash's version is also very good. It's similar with Personal Jesus. I also like the original by Depeche Mode best here. But Cash's version is also very good here. The cover version Vera Lynn's origonal We'll Meet Again is also particularly noteworthy. Overall, the album is very atmospheric but, perhaps also in view of Cash's health situation at the time, rather subdued. That's why I probably won't be listening to the album again any time soon. 3/5
I listened to Black Hole Sun with enthusiasm back then. I always remember how it was played in a store in Los Angeles during a trip. I also bought the album and enjoyed listening to it. I also liked Spoonman. I now find the album a bit tiring, even though Black Hole Sun is still one of my favorites. 4/5
Many years ago, I once asked my record dealer for alternatives to Rammstein. He recommended Ministry, among others. Somehow I didn't get on with it at the time. Today I listened to the album and expected it to be a direct deterrent. But I found the music interesting. Now I understood better what the dealer meant at the time. In the meantime, I have also moved away from Rammstein. But I will listen to the album again. After an exhausting evening at the drinking table, it's too exhausting for me today. 3/5
I listened to the album during a walk. I was still very interested at the beginning of the first track. But that cooled off quickly. During the walk, I noticed that the music was still playing, but I didn't notice most of it. So it didn't interest me, but it didn't bother me either. 3/5
I bought this album many years ago. I saw the clip for The Rockafeller Skank on MTV at the time. I found the music a bit exhausting, but the clip was very funny. Later, I also saw Right Here, Right Now on MTV. I was thrilled, the piece is one of my favorites and is played again and again. Yes, the music is repetitive, but I like that. So I was looking forward to listening to this album again. Well, I guess my taste has changed a bit. Towards the end of the album, I didn't feel like listening to it any more. But it was still nice to hear it again. 4/5
I had never heard of Rufus Wainwright before. As a fan of Shrek, I was of course familiar with the song Hallelujah. The cover of the album reminded me of a funny book about pre-Rafaelite girls explaining the internet. However, this rather lowered my expectations. I found the first track a bit difficult. But I quite liked the second one. I wasn't sure whether I would listen to the whole album. But suddenly it was over. It was fun and sparked my interest in more music by Rufus Wainwright. That's exactly what this project is for. Great. 4/5
I used to put Dusty Springfield in a wrong corner, namely that of the stupid American pop song. I'm glad to have been proven wrong here. I've liked the song Son Of a Pracher Man at least since Pulp Fiction. And here, too, I realized while listening that I already knew and liked other songs by Dusty Springfield. The music is soft and the voice is great. 4/5
Sade has a very nice soft voice. I've always liked this album in particular, especially the tracks Smooth Operator and Why can't We Live Together. Very cool and very smooth. 4/5
Sister Sledge didn't mean anything to me. It was only when I listened to the album that I recognized many of the songs. The music is actually not bad. I didn't know You're a friend to me and it's the track I like best. The vocals are really good. But overall the album is so disco and I don't like disco. 3/5
The band was unknown to me until today. The cover seemed rather off-putting to me. At first, the album sounded like weaker Beatle covers. But then a few really nice songs came along. I could also remember Groovin'. It was nice to hear it again. Overall, the album wasn't as bad as I expected from the cover. Despite being fond of it, it's not enough to be a candidate for my daily stream. Maybe I'll listen to the album again, but probably not. 3/5
I've been listening to Depeche Mode since their early days. Despite early reviews, I also liked their poppy stuff. Then I forgot about them a bit. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the concert for the album Faith an Devotion in my home town. The first time I felt a bit old and out of place at a concert, among all the girls who adored Dave Gahan. But the concert was great. My top favorites on the Violator album are Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence. But the other tracks are also simply great. 5/5
David Bowie was and is always good. I also find the story between him and Iggy Pop, the ghost, exciting. As always with Bowie, I don't find the whole album catchy. But I liked it very much. I particularly enjoyed Warszawa and Art Decade. 4/5
Amazing, I've liked Air's music for a long time. I didn't realize that they were a French band. I usually have a bit of a problem with French electronic music. Although I was enthusiastic about Jean Michelle Jarre as a teenager, and in particular about the albums Oxygene and Equinoxe, this cooled down a lot over the years. I was also not particularly taken with the album by the French band Justice in this project. Well, with the band Air I realize that I don't have anything against French electronic music in principle. I quite like this album. Yes, it even arouses interest in the movie, although I don't particularly like Sofoa Coppola's films. 5/5
Oh my goodness, what a racket. It sounds like my music system is broken. And if it's not, then it will be soon. Metal, thrash metal and all that stuff is not for me. To protect my ears, my mind and my speakers, I left it at short samples. That's even worse than gangsta rap. Although ... Let's see what I say about the next Gangsta Rap album. 1/5
I think I can remember many beautiful things by Björk. But somehow I can't think of any at the moment. Well, I didn't particularly like the debut album Debut. Björk's voice is great. But I'm not impressed by the music. The piece Violently Happy got on my nerves at the end. 3/5
Folk is not necessarily the genre that I particularly like. The music didn't bother me, but it didn't excite me either. The album was playing in the background and it was only when Rufus Wainwright was mixed in that I became aware of it again. 3/5
It was a bit difficult to find the album on Spotify. The link on the website led to a shortened version. In my search for alternative versions on other albums, I luckily came across the deluxe version. After reading the first comments, I was a little skeptical. I love Krautrock. Back then, groundbreaking things were created in Germany. But even for me, some of the genre's aberrations are too weird and I can hardly follow them. It wasn't like that with this album. Even though Klaus Schulze hasn't been a member of Tangerine Dream for 5 years, the music still sounds very much like him. Or is it the other way around? In any case, I'm glad to have come across the album as part of this project. 5/5
A comprehensive work and a great album by a great musician. Nevertheless, I don't really warm to it. There are a few tracks on the album that are so much a part of my musical world that I've never thought about who they're by. But I didn't get really excited when listening to them. 4/5
This is Tom Waits' third album in this project. The sound is - once again - very unusual. But I like it. I like Tom Wait's smoky, raspy voice. The music and sound aren't very catchy, but I like them. The album won't be in my daily stream, but it's quite possible that I'll listen to it from time to time. 4/5
What kind of crap was that? The 80s were really weird. Strange music developed and strange oddballs crawled out from under their rocks. But there were also great things. This album is not one of them. My life would be nothing poorer if I had never heard of the band and the album. This purring, irrelevant and boring pop even managed to fail as background music. The album got on my nerves so much that I only played 3 tracks and then switched it off in frustration. 1/5
I have probably never consciously heard of Thelonious Monk or this album. As a rule, jazz is too complicated for me, although I am definitely interested in the genre. So I listened to this album with great interest. Perhaps the first track on the album is particularly difficult. I didn't really understand it and found it difficult. I enjoyed the other tracks on the album so much that I spent the rest of the day listening to Jazz Classics with great pleasure. 4/5
The Beatles again. They are quite strongly represented in this list. And rightly so. After a clear rejection in my youth, I have been realizing for several years now, and even more so with this project, how good the guys' music is. And it's the same with this album. My favorites here are Drive my Car, Nowhere Man, Michelle and Girl. 5/5
Little Richard has driven the development of music with this album in particular. Some of it is still good to listen to today. All in all, I probably won't listen to this album more often. 3/5
I am still enthusiastic about Genesis' old albums, including this one. Selling England by The Pound is an album that I enjoy listening to again and again. 5/5
I really liked the album. A pretty cool sound. Bill Evans and his colleagues are probably brilliant on their instruments. But even though I like jazz and enjoyed this album, I probably won't be listening to it again any time soon. 3/5
A great album. Even the track List for Life is great. The Passenger is one of my favorites. I listen to it again and again. 5/5
Finaly, this project brought me closer to the Beatles. In this context, I also learned to appreciate goerge Harrison's music. At some point in the late 70s, Mull of Kentyre also spilled over the canal into my channel. I liked the song back then. And so I was curious about this album, which I hadn't heard before. It didn't excite me, rather bored me. Even for the sake of completeness, I wouldn't have listened to it. 3/5
I wasn't familiar with the name of the band. But I already knew the song The Message. I don't like hip hop. But I do like funk. And this really is a pretty funky hip hop album. It was fun in parts. The album probably won't appear in my daily stream, but it was quite interesting. 3/5
I don't quite understand the enthusiasm in the forum. Maybe the album was groundbreaking in the 70s, but you can't hear that anymore today. I quite liked the track Marquee Moon. The rest played quietly in the background. That's fine, but it doesn't excite me. 3/5
I was not familiar with this album by Simon & Carfunkel. However, I knew Scarborough Fair and a few other songs. It was nice to hear them again. Overall, the music is much better than the horrible cover art. How do you come up with that? 3/5
