A few songs are total cheese, but overall there are enough hits and just plain fun songs to make this album really enjoyable.
This Talk Talk album is so much better than I was expecting. I knew their big hits like It’s My Life but nothing on this album was familiar, and it feels a lot more “grown up” than their earlier stuff. The whole album has a really nice flow from one song to the next, and strikes a good balance of each song being just similar/different enough from each other to still feel like a cohesive work while not getting boring
Interesting historically, but not my style musically
A few filler songs up front, but this is almost their greatest hits
Starts strong and finishes strong, with a bit of filler in the middle
You can hear the influence this band had on the early Seattle grunge scene, definitely a precursor to Nirvana.
Don’t You Want Me is a classic, but the rest of the album was a bit dull
Felt like I was on hold in an elevator for half an hour.
I finally have an answer to the question of what would happen if someone tried to make a new age easy listening album but hired a singer with a voice like nails on a chalkboard.

I like Orbital, but this album was strictly average

It’s like an author who has a fantastic story idea but who isn't a very good writer. It’s interesting for what it inspired in more capable hands, but it’s not very fun to listen to.
Interesting concept but poor execution. I feel like a lot of meaning was lost due to bad translations.
This hits all the nostalgia notes, but in retrospect Wrong and Walking Wounded are doing a lot of heavy lifting
“Mom, I want the new David Bowie album.” “We have David Bowie at home.”
A nice stepping stone on the way to industrial sounds like Nine Inch Nails
Not bad, just boring
One great song but the rest of the album wasn’t nearly as fun
I wanted to like this, but it was really boring.
On the annoying side of so-so
Better than I expected
Even the Wikipedia article doesn’t seem to understand why this album would make the list
The first two songs being good can’t make up for the entire rest of the album being terrible
This album was hard to rate. Most of the songs are two-parters where half the song is great and the other half is terrible.
