Reviews (page 13 of 13)

I think the music in general is ok if not all that interesting. The vocals are terrible and ruin everything.

Dance music for a generation that grew up without dance. Upbeat, repetitive instruments with confidently poor singing. The most famous track, Take Me to the River, is slower and more interesting than the rest of the album, but as it’s a cover, no points awarded. While not my style, I see how the band bridged a generation from punk to pop.

This was, without a doubt, the most grating music I have ever heard. It sounds wrong; as if the instruments are out of tune. The sounds coming out of this thing are like undiscovered melodies that should have remained lost. The quiet vocals feel thrown in like spaghetti against a wall. I put this album on for my morning commute and arrived in record time because I wanted the music to end. This album on loop is akin to torture.

not something i would listen to again but different. talking heads for sure

I stopped listening after three songs. How that album landed on the 1001 list i don't know. Definitely not my taste

The beats themselves were pretty decent, but the lead singer's yelpy vocals were so obnoxious, it ruined any other redeeming qualities the instrumentals had.

The Heads' are a real struggle for me. Not feeling this one at all.

Very bad, boys, very bad

I've sorta always thought the Talking Heads should be named "Shouting Heads in a Tin Can" I tend to like their instrumentals, but once the singing starts I can barely get through an entire song.

Did not enjoy this record. On first listen I couldn't understand any of the lyrics and I thought the music itself was bland and repetitive. On second listen, while looking through the lyrics, I wasn't further impressed. 2/10

Awful caterwauling music combined with meaningless lyrics that left the whole album sounding like an angry toddler had composed the whole thing.

No me gustó, no es mi estilo de música

This album starts great but really quickly falls into broken-record territory: the same boring rhythm and melodies, Byrne's voice is not even that great, so what's even the point?

Wie gut hätte das ohne den Sänger werden können! Byrnes Gesang ist unerträglich. Da müsste einiges passieren, damit ich das durchhöre.

There are maybe MAYBE three songs by Talking Heads that I can stand. This album is not those.

Niet mijn soort muziek.

Just not enthusiastic about anything to do with this band.

Weirdo music

I hate every track on this album.

Not my stile

Not for me

Not feeling this one. 0/5.
