Great CCR album.

De las (14) canciones, me gustaron (6) y me sorprendió mucho. No esperaba realmente que me gustará un álbum de rock y rock & roll

A couple of filler tracks on side A unfortunately bring it down just a touch, but man, the good stuff here is unreal. 4/5

Bangers

Fun to listen

8/10 Great sound very iconic very Vietnam

Not exactly my jam because it is a bit old-fashioned, but nonetheless containing all these timeless hits ("Lookin' Out My Back Door", "Up Around The Bend", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine") it is a fun album to listen to. 3,5

I enjoyed this waaaaay more than I expected. So many good tunes.

There wasn’t a song that I didn’t enjoy. I liked boogieing to the rock n roll tunes, and imagined I was sat in a field at Woodstock ✌️

281/1001 Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cosmo's Factory Heard before? ❎ Revisit? ✅ Yeah I really enjoyed this one. It's an incredibly strong set of songs and tunes, along with one of THE great covers.

I've heard the hits from this in (shitty) period movies so many times that I had a knee jerk reaction to do just a quick skim and a low rating because I have a negative association with their sound/voice. But I gave it a fair chance and was shocked that their kind of bluesy and play really tight.

Ashamed to say that I didn’t know this band before this challenge but really enjoyed what I’ve heard (apart from the singer being a clear creep and megalomaniac). Quite the opener and well and truly sets the scene. Good as ever. I mean it is just uniquely Credence and Credence is good!! Great sound, production, live vibes, rhythm, groove, grit 🤌🏻 Nice cover of ‘…Grapevine’ that I hadn’t heard before (11 mins tho!) and ‘Before you accuse me’ too. Easy 4* but think it might need another listen to see if it gets more.

Fluid listen. Some memorable songs

Continuing the 70s run and my streak of artists I'm familiar with. I had Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits on my iPod and listened to that a lot as a teenager. Half of this record is on there, but I've yet to do a full CCR record properly. I'm excited for this one. Moreso than the Rolling Stones, this is totally my brand of classic rock. I could listen to the instrumental bit in Ramble Tamble over and over again. This whole record feels like outdoor music festivals, driving through Vermont or upstate NY, and drinking beer in the summer. I see myself putting this on for any and all of those occasions and when I'm in the mood for blues rock vibes. I know there are other CCR records on this list and I'm curious about where my preference will ultimately land because my favorite CCR songs come from Green River, but this album is at least a 4 for me.

Im boogying im shufflin im stompin and now im running through the jungle 4/5

Previously I got Bayou Country, which is a solid album, but lacked a bit with some overly long tracks and cuts that aren't as catchy as some of their biggest hits. This album though has a ton of great stuff on it such as Travelin' Band, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Run Through the Jungle, Up Around the Bend, Who'll Stop the Rain, and I Heard It Through the Grapevine. Just a great record.

Fantastic

c'est du bon !

Cosmos factory 1. I liked it at first the rhythm was great but the singing sounds too country omg no listen the rhythm is just too fire I cannot lie the beat is just too good 2. I don’t like this one as much because I don’t like the lyrics but the beat and instrumentals are still super duper fire I cannot lie so I still liked it 3. This song is so 1970s I think so good 4. It’s cute but not really my style 5. Literally on drugs song 6. Groovy but not that good lyrically 7. no likely 8. this is soo groovy 9. i luv the beat its very good and groovy 10. omg this song is pretty fire not much longer would you be mine the singer is so good bruh 11. fire 🔥

I've heard so much about them but never actually listened

CCR have always somehow remained a dark spot. Listening to this has rekindled my wish to do something about that. Great album.

The album that solidifies CCR and John Fogerty's legacy.

Easily the best thing that CCR ever did. Great variety of songs and pretty consistent quality too. CCR were never really an album band in my eyes, more a singles one, but this is the one with the best amount of singles. Not every song on here I would go back to but still overall great

Loved this album, It unfortunately gets overshadowed by their following album which is there most popular but I prefer this album to that one as this has very prevalent blues roots and a stronger more dynamic style and sound

es bueno, lo puse de fondo jugando terraria y goze

Hell of an album. Lookin Out My Backdoor is one of the best songs ever. Only 4 bc some sounded just a little too basic, but otherwise very good.

This was good stuff

If you want this specific style of sound, each song is solid. Half stars would be good on this site but it's not a five star album so it's getting lumped in with lesser albums

For me this was fun and easy listening, a generic but a high quality old school rock and roll sounding album from another band I’ve only ever listened to a few tracks from, I give to a 4

This was a fantastic listen! Good ol' fashioned rock n roll with some awesome vocal talent! One of the genres listed on the Wikipedia page is "swamp rock," and this album makes me want to explore more of that genre.

I could live without Ramble Tamble and the 11-minute version of I Heard It Through the Grapevine, but when John Fogerty puts his gift for writing a short, hook-filled song to good use, this is great.

They rip here. John Fogerty is wailing like a beast. Good job CCR

Made me think of old country blokes in small pubs in central Otago with my ex lol. Kept waiting for Wagon Wheel to come on next but not a bad time.

Not bad, good vibes

I mean... just loaded with bangers. Hit after hit after hit. Growing up listening to classic rock radio, I must have heard these songs hundreds of times. Such a great record. I remember one time at Squaw Valley, I got about as baked as a cake and threw on Run Through The Jungle while I skiied Red Dog ttb. Almost impossible to hate this record. 4.5/5

so many classics on this LP. I can't hear some of them without instantly thinking about The Big Lebowski. it's crazy that the official Big Lebowski Soundtrack Album doesn't have any Creedence on it whatsoever. I was surprised how the first 4 tracks of the album didn't do much to hook me, but once "Lookin' Out My Back Door" kicks off, it's a string of memorable, rippin songs that follow.

Definitely see why The Dude wanted this tape back so bad.

Starting off strong with rockabilly and psychedelic blend. Didn’t realize they also did a version of Before You Accuse Me. They definitely got sued for Travelin’ Band, very Little Richard. Goes hard though. Always loved Lookin’ Out My Back Door good single from the album. I like the vibe switch for Run Through the Jungle, feels more sinister to me. Another one I already know and love. Guess I didn’t realize this album had a lot of their popular songs on it. Up Around The Bend is another classic for me can’t go wrong with the vibes. I like a band that’s not afraid of a cover. I know most of these songs. It’s nice to find them again and appreciate them in the scope of the album. I love Marvin Gaye but I think I like their version of Grapvine better. The heavy guitar and the pounding drums remind me of Tusk by Fleetwood Mac. There’s only 3 songs on this album that I didn’t know and/or wouldn’t pick again. Solid album with songs that already lived in my circulation and some new to me songs as well. None I would necessarily skip.

What a record!

What's not to like?

I heated through the grapevine is an all time favorite

A very nice album! Classic dad rock, cool songs, no skips. As a person from Russia, this is what I imagine America sounds like. I like the vocalist's voice, although it's not ideal, it has its character.

めっちゃすき

It could have been a five, but it's missing that je ne se quoi

I listened to this album on my morning walk at work; a yellow Palo Verde tree had fallen over in the middle of the sidewalk and the ground was littered with dead grasshoppers. CCR is one of the bands I've been most excited to see pop up on this list, given just how good their big singles are that I'm familiar with. Upon listening to Cosmo's Factory, however, my first impression was a little underwhelming; not that anything was wrong with the album, it was well-played and performed, it just didn't reach the (admittedly incredibly high) highs of songs like Fortunate Son or Have You Ever Seen The Rain. However, this felt unfair to Cosmo's Factory; very few projects could stand up to that measuring stick, and there were still plenty of recognizable highlights which I didn't realize I knew going in, but immediately jumped back out as classics (Travelin' Band and Up Around The Bend). I listened again to appreciate the rest of the album better, understanding that there are plenty kf good songs here, with the typical quality of CCR's southern-leaning rock sound. Even many of the covers here break through my usual aversion, as the band gives them a character and personality all their own while still paying respectful homage to those original artists. While it comes a little short of their best work, this album still contains John Fogerty's incredible songwriting and the band's rocking musicianship; there's only so low that quality can ever truly go. Highlights: Ramble Tamble, Before You Accuse Me (Take A Look At Yourself), Travelin' Band, Up Around The Bend, Who'll Stop The Rain, Long As I Can See The Light

Mal mam mixed feelings glede CCR (vokali znajo bit a bit much (pač, it gets old fast) + sploh niso southern?!), ampak treba je pa cenit, da se vsaj dva naslova komadov rimata, prvi "Ramble Tamble" in četrti, "Ooby Dooby". Pa še to - huda naslovnica. Ok, peti komad mam rada, že zarad tega k me spomne na Lebowskega, kjer se pojavi ("Lookin' out My Back Door"). Ok, sledi mu pa fakin "Run Through the Jungle", k je men en ljubših komadov ever. Pa tud uporabljen v kr neki hudih filmov. "Long as I Can See the Light" me presenet, k je kr baladast in drugačn, kokr načeloma poznam od CCR. Na tej točki pa tud ugotovim, ker zraven gledam tracklisto, da iz nekega razloga ni blo predzadnjega komada?! Mah, vidim zj, nek extended edition bullshit sm poslušala, kjer je "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" kr izpuščen? Pa res je hud cover. Ok, sm mislila, da mi bo manj sedlo tole dons. Veri najs!

Rock bien sympatoche, pas une claque mais s'écoute bien. À réessayer ?

Really fun if you're in the mood for it! "Ooby Dooby" seemed like a joke and i laughed.

its weird because ive knocked blues before but they just do it better

Some good stuff here. Traveling Band, Who'll Stop The Rain, and the absolute fun classic Lookin' Out My Back Door. Their cover of Heard It Through The Grapevine rivals Marvin Gaye's version. It almost sounds sinister. Anyway, good stuff but not my favorite CCR. I will say John Fogerty's voice got on my nerves after a while. Never noticed that effect before...

This album feels long despite being 42 minutes long. It sounds good, but overall is not my kind of music. I don't have much to say it was just good, I'm giving it a 4 but it's a low 4.

I was always kind of neutral on CCR. I would hear them on the radio years ago and think 'well this is a cool song' and just never really dove any deeper than that into their music. Clearly, it must have stayed in my subconscious as that kind of thing still draws my attention today. I think this album just made me more of a CCR fan. There are so many strong songs. I enjoyed the sound of the recording too and the way John Fogarty's voice was treated with the reverb. I thought this album really jammed. I think 'Who'll Stop the Rain' 'Up Around the Bend' and 'Run Through the Jungle' were my favorites. The groove on 'Run Through the Jungle' was pretty sick. CCR on this album managed to find a solid combination of Blues, Funk, Rock and Country music. The way Fogarty sings is unique and raw and at first wasn't appealing, but grew on me after a while. This album definitely made me a bigger fan and more willing to check out other CCR albums Did I need to hear this before I die? Absolutely

If you've heard a Creedence song before, it's probably on this album and you probably know what you're in for before you start. I'm a Little Lebowski Urban Achiever.

Best Track - "Up Around The Bend"

Hell yea CCR

An absolute classic that still really holds up

Forgot CCR was so country-like. Will return to this one for sure. Didn’t realize that they wrote “before you accuse me”

It's Creedence. It's awesome. This is another group that had a couple big greatest hits albums so I don't know that I ever listened to any of the normal releases. And so I loved hearing the deep cuts on this one. That Grapevine never gets old. Hearkens back to a time when I thought 11 minutes was impossibly long. Giving it a solid 4. 4 & a half even! Rounding back down to 4, but I reserve the right to come back & bump it up to a 5

Im not a massive ccr fan. But I think listening to a full album might give me more or less of an appreciation for them. Ramble ramble: 7.5/10 Great song. Before you accuse me: 6/10 Good message I suppose. Just a typical blues shuffle, nothing special. Travelin’ band: 5/10 Sounds like little Richard. Ooby dooby: 4/10 Lookin out my back door: 7/10 Big lebowski. Haha. Run through the jungle: 6.5/10 Up around the bend: 6.5/10 My baby left me: 5/10 Who’ll stop the rain: 6.5/10 Solid acoustic track. I heard it through the grapevine: 6.5/10 11 minutes….. wow not too bad for a big jam. I reckon jamming to this would be great fun. Long as I can see the light: 6.5/10 I like it. Good song to finish off a good album.

fajnie bangla. half time w lookin out by back door wjezdza jak wolverine w tankow. bedzie na playliscie weselnej. sluchane na sennheiser momentum 4 po kablu miekkim, brazowym

Great fun 70s album. Iconic 8/10

Discazo. Creedence no falla, pone de buenas con sus pegajosísimas canciones y su swamp rock. Este disco parecería un greatest hits, creo que todos sus tracks pegaron durísimo y sigue aguantando como si hubiera salido ayer. Genial.

This is the second album I got from here. I tend to prefer more 'modern', 90s-2000s era rock, but this was very enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the longer tracks ("Ramble Tamble" & "Through The Grapevine"), the jam session instrumental parts were a nice vibe. Very cool to see how the genre evolved since it's earlier days :^]

Yeehaw, howdy, et cetera. Groovy and country. I liked this, 4/5 Favorites: Ooby Dooby, Up Around the Bend

wow…

Comfort music

4 - GOOOOOOODMORNING VIETNAM

I'm sure there will be other CCR albums on this list, but this must be the best of them. There are a few flops ("Before You Accuse Me", "Ooby Dooby") but so many classics on this album. It ranges from old school blues, to almost soulful ballads, to hard swampy rock. My favorites are probably "Run Through the Jungle" and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" but there are a lot of great tracks to pick from here.

amo creedence

Can’t rate this one considering this Cosmo guy apparently made this in his factory and not CCR

I already know five of the songs from this album, and absolutely love them. I'm very excited to listen to this album, it's been on my own personal list of albums to check out for ages now so I'm glad to have an excuse to finally cross it off. • Ramble Tamble is a very cool opening track, it's so energetic. I really enjoyed the jam section in the middle too, it's something Creedence does very well • Before You Accuse Me is a pretty standard blues song, but it sounds good • I think I might also know Travelin' Band, but that wasn't one of the five I was thinking of. It's another great song, but it's definitely very similar to Good Golly Miss Molly (and according to the album's Wikipedia, so did Little Richard's label) • Lookin' Out My Back Door is so good, I've known it for so many years and it still gives me such a warm feeling. • Run Through The Jungle is another really cool song, it sounds a bit darker than the rest of the album. • Up Around the Bend is easily one of my favourites from the album • My Baby Left Me doesn't really stand out when compared to its neighbouring tracks. I'm not surprised it has the least streams on Spotify. • I always forget how much I like Who'll Stop the Rain. Whenever I read the title I remember it as being good, but nothing spectacular. But then I start listening to it and realise how wrong I am, especially once the chorus hits. I really love this song. • And then we get to I Heard It Through The Grapevine. The original Marvin Gaye version is already incredible, but this version brings the song to a different level. Lowering the key just slightly makes it feel a bit darker, and the drum groove during the post-chorus (which is now an instrumental section) makes it almost feel tribal. And then after the third chorus, the song explodes into an insanely long jam section. Did this version of the song need to be 11 minutes long? No. But those extra eight minutes give the song so much life, and it doesn't feel like the song's that long when you listen to it. That's the way to do a cover. • It feels almost bold to put a song after Heard It Through The Grapevine, but Long As I Can See The Light is a nice way to cap off the album. It's a more chilled out song, which is perfect after listening to such a long, energetic jam. This was a great album. All of my favourites were the songs I already knew, but the other songs on the album aren't bad at all. The best parts of the album are all the more jammy instrumental sections, but John Fogerty's vocals were incredible too. Creedence is a phenomenal band, and I'm really looking forward to listening to the other two albums on this list (and also Willy And The Poor Boys because why was that not part of the list?) Favourite song: Heard It Through The Grapevine

What a fun album. The musicianship is so good and it's littered with fantastically written songs. The album opener in particular is absolutely brilliant and sets the tone for a strong 70s rock album. There aren't really any bad notes on this one, 9/10.

No he escuchado mucho de la bandA Y YA LA PRIMERA CANCIÓN ME ENCANTÓ

Quite nice

Fun album!! Shocked that the rating is only 3.9 stars haha but i might just be a sucker for 70s music lol

Entertaining. I never really appreciated CCR, but John Fogerty and crew were a hit-producing machine, with songs that have people singing along all these years later.

Вайб Техаса

Great guitars

Lots of iconic tracks on this one, certified classic

Tons of fun. A+ vocals.

very chill

bello mi ha proprio messo di buon umore, questo 4 forse è troppo ma non è nemmeno un 3

Loved this one

Du très bon CCR

Solid stuff and a flashback to my youth as it was the first album I ever bought.

good stuff

Loved listening to this again

Me and The Dude both abide this CCR album. It’s hard not to abide while listening to this masterpiece. The one time I remember The Dude not abiding is after crashing his car and finding Larry Seller’s homework assignment on The Louisiana Purchase.

6.5/10

Added to library due to its diversity in the Rock universe.. has some heavy rock but also has some heart throbs scattered throughout.. Crazy beat switch on the first track, not once BUT TWICE.. This IS the epitome of what rock is!

Good swamp-rock, and Run Through The Jungle is an epic.

favorite songs: travelin band lookin out my backdoor (more lyrics) up around the bend who'll stop the rain long as i can see the light

This'd potentially have been a five star album, if not for 11 minutes of Heard it Through the Grapevine. The sheer number of hits on this album is unbelievable, though, and so good!

Love CCR. Sounds like summer rock.

Some classics on this album. And some jam band feel in places that surprised me. Good stuff

Fantastic album, I knew lots of the big hitter singles. Love the cover of 'Heard it through the grapevine'. This is movies and pop culture but it just sounds like the USA at the end of the 60s and early 70s, with Vietnam etc.

Excellent blues rock. Back Door and Travellin Band are bangers.

Can't go wrong with some CCR.

great start w classics

Man, I didn't realize the tour de force I was in for here at first. The first couple songs are a bit low key, but then it really takes off. Phenomenal album.

The six singles are all great and would have been an easy 5 on their own. Unfortunately, the four covers are mid, and the two tracks over 7 minutes should have been edited down to no more than half that length. Normally, that level of bloat would have been enough to downgrade the album to a 3, but those six singles really are solid.

Not the biggest fan of CCR. Most of their hits are completely forgettable to me. I hear the song, and I can recognize the song. As soon as it’s over I don’t recall why it was good. I can appreciate this album as a whole. It certainly has hit after hit. Just doesn’t excite me.

No. 354/1001 Ramble Tamble 3/5 (2x) Before You Accuse Me 3/5 Travelin' Band 4/5 Ooby Dooby 3/5 Lookin Out My Back Door 4/5 Run Through The Jungle 3/5 Up Around The Bend 4/5 My Baby Left Me 3/5 Who'll Stop The Rain 5/5 I Heard It Through The Grapevine (3x) 4/5 Long As I Can See The Light 4/5 Average: 3,64 Really enjoyed this one.

This was a really solid album, there were a lot more interesting and engaging songs on here than the last one I listened to. It’s really just like a very consistent and strong album. Lots of fun songs on here for sure. Favorites: Ramble Tamble, Travelin Band, Up Around the Bend

felt like drunk driving in texas

Quite enjoyed it.

I am not a huge CCR fan, but they really kicked some ass. R&B, swamp rock, blues, psychedelia. That opener 'Ramble Tamble' is amazing--some whole new thing coming into being. And then there are the hits. Very good record.

This one kept delivering. Just a solid album.

Hard not to be engaged by the bluesy, emotional warmth and grit on display here. So many well-earned classics.

Hermoso :D

Highlights: - Travelin’ Band - Lookin’ Out My Back Door - Up Around the Bend - Who’ll Stop the Rain - I Heard It Through the Grapevine - Long as I Can See the Light

Basically the soundtrack to every family's reunion or cookout throughout the first 8 years of my life. Love the cover of " I Heard It Through The Grapevine" so much

Always fun. Gets me excited for summer.

Mukavaa ja lepposaa rock and rollia, mikäs tätä kuunnellessa. 4/5

- Al gehad 4*

4.0 (59:09, 12 tracks, debut album, 1996-2000) Swamp Rock (R&B, Rockabilly, Southern Rock) CCR was John and Tom Fogertys last iteration before they exploded in 1972 (basically 1959-1972, played with the same lineup as The Blue Velvets, The Golliwogs, and CCR) Doug Clifford (drums) and Stu Cook (bass) rounded out the 4 piece. CCR released 6 albums from 1969 to 1972 and every one was a chart topper, this was their best-selling. Almost impossible not to give this album a 4 – not a bad song on it. A few covers and ‘almost covers (Tavelin’ Band being an ‘homage’ to Little Richard and sued for plagiarizing Good Golly Miss Molly) Factoids – • John was the lyricist and lead guitarist and driving force being the band, his brother Tom (rhythm guitarist) is generally considered the driving force behind their acrimonious breakup. • Cook and Clifford later formed Creedance Clearwater Revisited • Cosmo was Cook's (drummer) nickname, "The Factory" was the nickname of their rehearsal warehouse (because John made them rehearse so frequently) Album cover – don't love it - why is John on a bike? Otherwise weird, looks like and warehouse with carpet - I don't understand Band name – meaningless really, Clearwater from Olympia beer, Creedance from another friendly band and Revival to make the name work and allude to swamp rock sound they were moving towards. Plus Golliwogs is a shitty name for a band. Favorite Song – Ramble Tamble (just a great jam, mostly no lyrics) *radio single and top 5 hit 1. "Ramble Tamble" 7:09 (rockabilly, psychedelia, long swamp swampy solo) 2. *"Before You Accuse Me" Bo Diddley 3:24 (R&B cover) 3. *"Travelin' Band" 2:07 (rockabilly) 4. "Ooby Dooby" Ray Orbison (Dick Penner) 2:05 (rockabilly) 5. *"Lookin' out My Back Door" 2:31 (country, Bakersfield) 6. *"Run Through the Jungle" 3:09 (Blues, Swamp) 7. *"Up Around the Bend" 2:40 (swamp rock) 8. "My Baby Left Me" Arthur Crudup 2:17 (R&B) 9. *"Who'll Stop the Rain" 2:28 (folk rock) 10. "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" Marvin Gaye 11:05 (soul, cover, long cover) 11. *"Long as I Can See the Light" 3:33 (soul)

Aiaiaiai

-Reminds me of the hollies’ A Distant Light’ Album Favorite song: up and around the bend

Underrated Standouts: Ramble Tamble, Long As I Can See the Light

Really fun grooves and some great rifts. Definitely a dancing kind of album for me. :)

Very jam band

Something about the instrumentation and pacing of this one really cuts through for me. Love it.

CCR - such a classic, and there are so many iconic songs on this album. It takes me back to my Kansas roots. - Heard before? Not in its entirety, but I'm familiar with at least half of the songs. - Will I listen again? Whenever I get the hankering for CCR. - Does it inspire me to listen to more of this artist? Maybe, although it'd be hard to get better than this album.

Some good ol Cajun fun. Lots of hits!

Some all American classics from the swamp blues band from Berkeley, CA. Great song writing and simple but powerful delivery.

Not my #1 CCR album but truly beast on its own

A little bit of everything from CCR, take me to that swamp. Probably a 4.5

Heard it through the grapevine por milésima vez

Americana isn't really my thing as I'm writing this, but I'll have to say this isn't half bad. I doubt it gets any better than this, if anything. Faves: Lookin' Out My Back Door, Who'll Stop The Rain, I Heard It Through The Grapevine

so many songs that i didnt know i knew. great outdoor road trip/camping album. this album was super fun. BUT some of the songs are really long with instrumental outros that felt like they went on forever. i like instrumentals but prefer lyrics so i noticed myself skipping the long outros

Listened and was solid

I really enjoyed this

Ramble Tamble - 3/5 Before You Accuse Me - 4/5 Travelin' Band - 5/5 Ooby Dooby - 4/5 Lookin' Out My Back Door - 4/5 Run Through The Jungle - 3/5 Up Around The Bend - 3.5/5 My Baby Left Me - 4/5 Who'll Stop The Rain - 4/5 I Heard It Through The Grapevine - 4/5 Long As I Can See The Light - 3/5 Travelin' Band - Remake Take - 4/5 Up Around The Bend - Live In Amsterdam 9/10/71 - 3/5 Born On The Bayou - At Fantasy Studios - 3/5

CCRs best by a mile, and it certainly deserves to be here with more than half of the record being among their biggest hits and best material. Personally could do without their Ooby Dooby and Before You Accuse Me covers, and it would have been a stronger album without those covers, which are just filler imo

I used to listen to CCR a bunch in high school. They were one of the few bands that my late father and I had in common. They are a bit cheesey but good rock. I don't know why it works but it just hits a nostalgia nerve for me. I mean the last half of the album is all hits so hard to hate that.

Hyvää klassista rokkia. Levyltä löytyy monta ikivihreää hittiä.

This is just what I needed!!!

I see the light! And it's a romp!

Another CCR classic. A lot of the hits on this album are what got me into CCR when I was a teenager. Great album.

I just love that classic 70’s sound and CCR does it so well. Foggy drums and big guitars with beats that require you start moving. The album is only 42 mins long but CCR manages to cram some fantastic songs into that small space. Great listen and an album worthy of being on this list.

About as classic as classic rock gets. Bluesy, roots rock that is full of energy and feeling. Can’t go 5 because it relies on too many covers to get it to iconic status, but as solid and rocking an album as this era produced.

Happy to see CCR again, legit bluesy crunchy greatness.

I was debating on a 3 or 4 on this one. I think because there are a few top notch songs on here I'm pushing it to 4.

CLEARLY a good time. Would drink WATER to. CLARENCE. REVIVAL is a good place to get good coffee in Somerville.

Yes loved this!

Really enjoyed this. Favourite tracks: I heard it through the grapevine, travelin band, and ramble ramble

Fantastic. Such a tight band

A long track that remains engaging by constantly reshaping its structure. Favorites 1. Ramble Tamble 10. I Heard It Through the Grapevine

Good rock and roll album, I enjoyed it plenty. Cool guitar riffs and I liked the melodies and harmonies.

This is such a perfect album. I grew up listening to creedence and I feel nostalgic every time I listen to them.

a few i recognise and like very much - balances out the album being a little below expectations (based on the songs i knew from them - granted they probably were the band's best hits)

Lots of well known classics

A really catchy album with great vibes. There isn't much meaning in the lyrics, but I didn't even expect it. Went straight to my favourites.

The epic nature of opener Ramble Tamble is misleading. What follows it is 10 succinct nuggets of no-nonsense blues-infused (but fun) vibes to put a smile on your face. Some are good but most are great! Some top rung hits too. The Dude had it dead right.

It starts off very good actually, the opening track is fun to listen to. It already sounds iconic. The song are very awesome to listen to. Makes me feel real American. Overall, this was an amazing album!!🙂‍↕️

I love this project because I get to realize who sings songs I recognize but couldn’t have named the title or artist. This happened 4 times on today’s album. 3.5 rounded up.

Who´ll Stop the Rain mfl. Covern av I Heard It Throug the Grapevine är riktigt bra. Dock några fillers, framför allt Ooby Doobie vilket drar ner albumet till stark fyra/svag femma.

Strong 4

Really solid early 70s American rock music. I don't always love John Fogerty's vocal affect (like, my man, you were born and raised in California, you don't need to put on a New Orleans-Bayou accent), but its undeniable that this is a prime example of this type of music, and the massive commercial success justifies the inclusion on the list.

Not everything in it is up my alley but I love the guitar solos and some of the more rock-ish songs really stood out to me

7.5/10 - I really like this album and while I can see why people might not prefer this style, I think it’s something different that is done really well. I also love the irony that lifted trucks will blast CCR even though the political leanings of the group I certainly not lifted trucks.

Really good. Much better than I remembered. Infinitely listenable and enjoyable. Still not something I'd choose everyday.

Is CCR the quintessential American rock band? Fogerty was unstoppable at this point.

Classic rock n roll. Reminds me of my daddy :)

dancin’

"Up Around the Bend" was the only Creedence Clearwater Revival I was familiar with so it was nice to listen to a whole album. The music was rock, blues, some folk elements, a pretty good sound. The 10-minute cover/jam of "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" was also nice, though perhaps almost too long for my interests. Other highlights included "Travelin' Band" and "Who'll Stop the Rain"

CCR is iconic, unaware of their albums though. Got into it fully expecting to get some of the lesser known songs, and while I did I was gobsmacked at the level of hits on this album. Getting into the actual music part of this it is fun live in their blues and bluegrass influences. They fully envelope themselves in that music and makes some of these songs so timeless

Love the production Тут прям дуже хороша гітара Мене тут пісні більше чіпляють інструменталом ніж текстом і вокалом Хороший такий рок Ну це прям тверда 8/10 Нот бед бат є куди рости

good music, good album, don’t understand why I heard it through the grapevine is ten minutes long

Really liked this one! I like some of their more popular songs, but I had never really listened to much else of them. I like how the album is structured and the very lively feel to it. I like the jam vibes they have with the super long instrumentals, and I love how they end with “Long As I Can See the Light”

In high school I got The Best of CCR from the Columbia House Record Club, and the thing was an eye-opener. Just banger after banger. And there's like, what, only two tracks from Cosmo's Factory that didn't make their "best of" cut?

Can't listen to this without thinking of my Mom!! It's a good time.

Its okayyy

I actually realy like CCR, but never had a change to listen to a full album. I still prefer listening to them one track at a time.

Enjoyed more than I thought I would. Can see why it’s a classic

Given my tepid reaction to Bayou Country, I figured this would also be a shrug, even with classics like "Lookin' Out By Back Door," "Up Around the Bend," and "Who'll Stop the Rain." But I liked it quite a bit, even the long instrumental parts that would otherwise bore me. (Their 11-minute take on "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is a little much, though.) "Long As I Can See the Light" with its horns was a nice surprise and a great way to close out the album.

Hey man! Is that Freedom Rock? Yeah, man! Well, TURN IT UP! Except you can skip this song, and the next, and a couple others. And definitely that unnecessarily long cover of the California Raisins. Some artists are just too sacred to cover.

This album drips with talent. The sound is not what I would normally vibe to but still have to give this album the credit it deserves

i quite enjoyed this album! i really liked the bluesy rock feel and it wasn’t hard to get through. i would listen again!

Even the album cut stuff that sounds like boilerplate to me now was just as considered in their creation as the hits. I’ve never really had a ton of patience for the whole Heard it Through the Grapevine, but it’s still a very identifiable sound, especially the backing vocals from Fogerty frere and Stu Cook. Just about as flawless as a rock album can get.

I want to be adored- I can hear their influence on Oasis here. The vocals are slightly muted, like there is a veil between the listener and main vocalist. I like the lyricism of Waterfall and the guitar riffing at the end. The is something infectious about “Made of Stone”, I had to play it twice.

Every song a hit! 4 - a great album even among this list

It’s a really good album, probably a 4.5 if we had that. There’s a bit too much jamming that gets into meandering, but overall this was an enjoyable listen. I also realize that I had only ever heard the radio edit of Grapevine and that song is super long.

Pretty good actually. Huh.

its soso good the latter half is better though!

Great record packed with hits! Listened to the extended version with alternate take of "Traveling Band", A live version of "Up and around the bend", and Fantasy Studio recording of "Born on The Bayou", which is a song that is not on the album. Did not care for the opening track. Over All great album. 4 ⭐'s

Classic, essential CCR.

Good album!! Always loved Who'll Stop The Rain, Lookin out my backdoor, and Proud Mary.

Has to be their best album, banger after banger.

It seems like every band member was just in their element on here. Really great stuff

it was fine, It felt like a summer album!

Listened to this maybe a bit too much when I was a kid, that I'm kind of over it. Some great songs. Definitely a great record.

Great example of what’s now classic rock.

3 songs I would consider all time greats. 11 min version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine that doesn't touch the original was too over indulgent for my liking. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Limp Bizkit önskar att de var lika tuffa.

‘twas good.

Hard to review this objectively after years of listening previously but a great album with some excellent songs. Grapevine cover is excellent and Who’ll Stop the Rain is an all time classic. Time in a bottle! 4

Really liked! Nice twang

Wikipedia puts it under "rock country" genres (among others), and there were moments in which I could definitely feel the country. Fave: I Heard Through The Grapevine

I really enjoyed this one.

Really good, his vocals are just perfect and add so much to each of these songs. What a wonderful cover of I heard it through the Grapevine. So many of these songs are classics.

Bättre än Green River, enligt mig det definitiva CCR albumet hittils! John Fogerty som sångare är en guldgruva, när de rockar till det lite mera är de verkligen så bra

Ramble Tamble (Track 1) - Roller Coaster changing tempos and styles, a little bit of this a little bit of that type song Before You Accuse Me (Track 2) - Reminds me of Chuck Berry Travelin' Band (Track 3) - Solid rock Ooby Dooby (Track 4) - Dooby Ooby Ooby Lookin' Out My Back Door (Track 5) - Hello Country twang sudden tempo drop at the end was unexpected Run Through The Jungle (Track 6) - First song I know different from the rest of the album so far but a classic Up Around The Bend (Track 7) - Favorite song so far, appreciate the rasppyness in the voice My Baby Left Me (Track 8) - Back to the swamps we go Who'll Stop The Rain (Track 9) - Banger I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Track 10) - Great cover adding a darker sound Long As I Can See The Light (Track 11) - Good song to end a album on a almost farewell Overall: 4.5 | Favorite Track: My Baby Left Me | Least Favorite: Before You Accuse Me

Mostly bangers, range of styles. Who will stop the rain is a bop. Classic Creedence.

Einfach gut, so vielfältig, rockig, bluesig. Top5 Roadtripalben

Alright so the list likes to over represent bands. Cause at this point I've listened to all of CCR's stuff at this point. Now this is got to be their best album but still, we could cut an album here and there and get more bands to listen to. Now that I'm done bitching, this is a GREAT album of theirs. It has to be their best work. Solid everything here. It's wild that they released so many good albums in a short amount of time.

Several classics on this one. Very much enjoyed it.

positivo

long ass songs dragged this down soo much

oh man, of course this was good. CCR has always been a great group with many notable songs. this had a lot that i knew, with some sprinkling of others i did not. great. one of the bands that i listened to frequently when i was getting into this type of music.

pretty solid! i haven't listened to much from CCR but it's hard not to like their sound. i really love how distorted john fogerty's guitar is (well, the whole band, but him as lead) because it's just got such an energy to it and fogerty's got a very interesting voice too. swamp rock is good shit because i was bobbing my head along to pretty much all of it. i don't know if anything particularly stood out though? this was all just Good. "run through the jungle" is probably the most interesting to me. they're doing some crazy ass shit on that track.

I still think I prefer Willy and the Poor Boys, but this is pretty great too. It's suprising how little of the hits I know are on this Creedance album and yet I think it still comes together really well! Some great instrumentals on this one, and in comparison to yesterday's album- very consistent. I just think it lacks the clear standouts needed for 5 stars to me, everything kind of melds together towards the end.

To be honest, going into this I wasn't all that excited. Before this, I had heard a few songs in passing, didn't think too much of it, and never really looked deeper. Besides, I think it's reasonable to be a little skeptical of a swamp rock band from California. But I was surprised by a good few things while listening to this. Firstly, I knew like 3 or 4 of these songs. Second, CCR's swamp rock is remarkably convincing. And third, this was really really good. As a CCR skeptic, I am so glad they kicked this album off with one of the better songs. Ramble Tamble has so much energy and groove, and its command over momentum is truly exciting. From here, we have the blues rock of songs like Travelin' Band and Up Around The Bend. We have dour reflections on Vietnam in Who Can Stop The Rain and the slightly ominous Run Through The Jungle. And we have the incredibly sweet sounding Lookin' Out My Back Door, a song with such innocence that it is the only other piece of music in the folder in my mind with I Think We Are Going To Be Friends by The White Stripes (which may be a really weird take, now that I'm thinking about it). These songs are all unexpectedly fantastic. The four covers here are even particularly inspired, although I do think that Ooby Dooby and Before you Accuse Me are probably the weakest songs on the album. But conversely, My Baby Left Me is strong, and I Heard It Through The Grapevine is *very* strong (and it better be, it's like 11 minutes long). Cosmo's Factory closes with Long As I Can See The Light, another very sweet cut, and a great ballad to tie it all up (with great sax to boot). I will say, being completely won over by a CCR album was not on my to-do list today, but I'll never complain about discovering more great music. They capture the sound and atmosphere of blues, southern rock, and the "swamp sound" perfectly on Cosmo's factory and a lot of the songs here are already becoming my favorites within the genre. A couple of weaker covers and some of the best songs here being criminally short are really the only complaints I have here (I would easily take an extra minute or two of Up Around The Bend, Lookin' Out My Back door, and Who Can Stop The Rain). But at the end of the day, I'd rather an album leave me wanting more than being overstuffed. This is great music.

Yeehaw

Muy bueno. Me encanta la vibra

Ramble Tamble - 4.5/5 Before You Accuse Me - 4.5/5 Travelin' Band - 4/5 Ooby Dooby - 3/5 Lookin' Out My Back Door - 4/5 Run Through the Jungle - 4.5/5 Up Around the Bend - 4.5/5 My Baby Left Me - 3.5/5 Who'll Stop the Rain - 4/5 I Heard It Through the Grapevine - 4.5/5 Long as I Can See the Light - 4/5 Quintessential swamp rock. A great mixture of genres all around, from blues to rock n' roll to even a bit of prog rock. This sounds like a greatest hits album as there was not a single dud on the entire album. Overall: 4/5 Favorite(s): Ramble Tamble, Before You Accuse Me, Travelin' Band, Up Around the Bend, I Heard It Through the Grapevine

Several songs that I know and like, but lots I don’t like. Not a fan of their rockabilly sound. But, it’s Credence, so…

I've been blessed with CCR two days in a row. They're so great.

Hard to find a bad song on this album. Pretty darn near perfect.

I like atmosphere. They got lots. Just... Crunchy and fun. They even do a good job of making generic 12 bar structures fun on Before You Accuse Me and Travelin' Band. Ramble Tramble even surprisea with some almost post rock breakdown. Ooby Dooby the only thing to let the side down.

I like this type of music! I would listen possibly again

Knew every track, some good songs on this. Enjoyable listen.

a bluesy rock album that has exciting beats to tap your foot to and fun tempo changes. i didnt even realize how long some of the tracks are, which is a testament to how good of a listen it is. fun to learn how theyre from the bay area!

Will keep downloaded. Great cover of I heard it through the grapevine

Cosmo's Factory is full of CCRs best hits. While it doesn't feel like a cohesive project, it has banger after banger after banger. Best Songs: Lookin' Out My Back Door, Up Around The Bend, I Heard It Through The Grapevine Worst Songs: Ooby Dooby, Long As I See The Light

I didn't realize the number of CCR hits that came from this one album. Sounds like an entire era of American culture wrapped into an hour of music, especially with the blues influences.

pretty fantastic

8 There are some songs on here that are 10/10 and some songs that I will skip next time I listen to. Overall it’s a good impression but I could do without that hoobie doobie song or however it goes lol

Finally an album I could get my teeth into. Never heard of this album before but knew most the tracks on it.

CCR to me is one of those bands I’m always surprised by the number of songs I recognize. I’ve never sought them out as something I want to listen to, but when they come on it’s usually pretty good. I recognized more than half these tracks, and the ones I didn’t were pretty good in their own right. Definitely liked this more than the other CCR album I listened to. 4/5

01) Ramble Tamble - 8,0 02) Before You Accuse Me - 7,5 03) Travelin' Band - 7,0 04) Ooby Dooby - 7,0 05) Lookin' out My Back Door - 9,5 06) Run Through the Jungle - 8,0 07) Up Around the Bend - 8,5 08) My Baby Left Me - 7,0 09) Who'll Stop the Rain - 9,5 10) I Heard It Through the Grapevine - 8,0 11) Long As I Can See the Light - 8,5 TOAL: 8,07 (81/100) Current ranking: 202/741

So bluesy, so great

This was an absolute blast from the get-go. Nothing drags, it has constant momentum, and the instrumentation is astounding. A few songs in the middle aren't particularly memorable, but all around it was a very strong album.

Really enjoyed this one, though not surprised as I have other albums by the band in my collection - what a great band they were, heard new tracks which is always good

Grapevine lowkey ate

The finest distillation of laste 60s rock moving into a new decade.

I could give this five stars. I love it. BUT! Willy and The Poor Boys is even better, so I feel Cosmo’s should be four. This is so hard. 4/5

Good one!

One of the few records of the 60s that can still resonate with me. This swamp/southern rock record is still a pretty good record. I imagine it remains so because I don’t spend any time listening to “classic rock”. So, the risk of overplaying a track is remote. I HeardIt Through The Grapevine is a top shelf track no matter who covers it. I prefer the Slits version, but the original resonates because the lengthy guitar jam is interesting and energetic meaning the track is a solid highlight in an otherwise diverse and interesting record. Run Through The Jungle with its gothic blues shuffle predates The Gun Club and The Cramps and is the obvious blueprint for those bands. The real shift between songs is whether makes this album unique. Up The Bend right after Run Through The Jungle is an eclectic combo of two different sound collages but somehow it works. The Elvis Presley rip, My Baby Left Me and Who Will Stop The Rain with I Heard It Through The Grapevine completes perhaps on of the best 6 song runs on an album. The outlier really is Long As I can See the Light, which I might have placed as the third track on Side 1 and shifted everything to finish Side 1 with Lookin out my Back Door and then start Side 2 with Run Through The Jungle. But it’s a quibble. This is a keeper for every generation and truly belongs on this list. Only track I don’t prefer is Ooby Dooby. Otherwise 9/10.

Admittedly I only partially listened to this but I liked what I heard!

I like so many CCR songs and I didn’t realize how stacked this album was. So many jams.

Solid album and highlights some of Fogertys best creativity. Every track on this album besides 2 or 3 are absolute tunes. Great songwriting and musicianship across the board throughout the listen.

I wouldn’t buy it, but if I walked into a bar with a band plying like that, I’d not only set the drinks up, but I’d have to be gently prised out of the bar at closing time whilst noisily shouting for yet another encore.

There's not much to say about this one, another classic. The algorithm is blessing me this week. This album is strong through and through, but its crazy how strong the B side is. How many albums have a better ending than Who'll Stop the Rain, I Heard it Through the Grapevine, and Long as I Can See the Light? Not many.

música de pai. comecei amando mas oobey doobie foram os 2 minutos mais demorados do álbum, me cansou tanto que n curti tanto o resto. mas adorei ramble tamble e as 2 últimas

grande banda, grande álbum. me agrada muito o rock anos 70, e ccr é bem autêntico (e americano). who'll stop the rain e ramble tramble 👍

uma mistura interessante e complexa, gostei mt

Esse em um festival de hambúrguer e cerveja cheio de tiozões faria a alegria da galera. In a good way. Run Through the Jungle foi uma grata surpresa.

Total banger

Chooglin

Great album, slaps front to back. I'm glad I finally sat down and listened to a CCR album in full .

Good memories

Love this album, classic CCW with some great covers. Favorite Songs(s) Run Through the Jungle, Who’ll Stop the Rain, Lookin Out My Backdoor

I was a pleasure to listen to, twice

Pleasant surprise, some hidden gems on this one. Also, the guitar sound is soooooo crunchy, I love it!

It's CCR, what more do you need to know? You know what you're getting into, it's all right there on the tin. Plenty of Southern Rock hits, and the lesser known trakcs are still good as Southern Rock. "Heard It Through The Grapevine" drags on a bit and feels a little "jammy".

It's creedence, they're all good

Lots of classic CCR hits most would recognize, for me Run Through the Jungle is a standout. The album has their swamp boogey sound with a little rockabilly thrown in as well.

Well, for the most part, this sounds like any other CCR album I’ve heard so far, which is decent, but nothing too spectacular. Although, I will say, at first I thought this album was going to be different because the opening track “Ramble Tamble” was an epic opener with some changing dynamics that made me think the entire album was going to follow that same path. But instead, the rest of the album just sounded like classic CCR. Either way, I’m glad I listened to it, because “Ramble Tamble” is officially my favorite CCR song of all time.

It's a classic for a reason! The original songs are all strong, even if a few of them have been mercilessly overplayed on classic rock stations for 40 years. Personally, I still get stoked when I hear those screeching guitars at the start of Run Through the Jungle. The danger feels imminent from start to finish; it sounds like getting chased. Probably my favorite CCR song. Four cover songs throughout the album and all of them are also pretty solid (Ooby Dooby? Gimme a "hell yeah").

I don't think I've ever listened to a Creedence album all the way through. I rather enjoyed it.

So many classics on this album. It takes me back to when I was a kid doing a paper route with my father and we would listen to this music in the car. Love CCR

All time classic tunes.

The blues covers brings it down a bit, but the rest is packed with some of their strongest singles, really a fun album

I never want to listen to them, but it's always enjoyable. Good stuff!

I rarely listen to them, but hey... They're so great and enjoyable, I'm gonna give them a bold 4!

Classic blues rock

Hard to rate it because so many of these songs are so well known. Long As I Can See the Light is probably my favorite. Run Through the Jungle fucks.

another great album by the band of the year so fat

not bad

Great country-rock melodies! So talented, so short-lasting...

They have an interesting sound that mixes classic rock'n'roll (I'm not gonna stop glazing RnR) and country. A couple songs actually sound similar to some Eagles songs.

Delightful album- love the panning, and guitar tones. I laugh a bit because the lead singer's enunciation is the blueprint of every "indie girlie" today.

Enjoyable albeit a little samey. Good easy listening with some gems amongst it

A low ish 4 for me but better than some 3s I’ve had - the hits are the strong points on this album but all enjoyable nonetheless.

Who is Cosmo who is Creedence was the pianist really that small was there any piano on this album

!!!! Cool

4 stars This is my second CCR album in here and my comment on Green River was that CCR are more of a singles band than an album band. And that’s true with this record too. It’s just that they have 6 singles on this album, so it’s much more significant than on albums with 2 or so. And these are some of their best ones: “Run Through the Jungle,” “Travelin’ Band,” “Lookin’ Out my Back Door,” “Up Around the Bend,” and I’ll stop there just to avoid listing them all. While some of the non-single tracks suffer from generic bluesy rock n roll syndrome, the opening and closing tracks are quite effective and take the album up another level than if it was just the singles and Elvis impersonator tracks. I’ll acknowledge that the 11+ minute version of “Heard it through the Grapevine” is a bit overindulgent, but not to the point of being unpleasant. This is a good one.

really low 4 for me, but I just can't justify putting this at a 3 when there's so many classic, iconic songs. along with some great instrumental sections and a cool album cover

Guter alter Rock'n'Roll

Full of hits

I didn't recognize this CCR album so I was a bit scared but surprise CCR is still good 7/10

Excellent classic rock. Not my favourite CCR, but hard to go wrong with them. Several classic tracks here.

So this is where many of the CCR hits come from. I recognized a number of songs. Very good album

sad and reflective but goddamn it rocks

It's taken a lot of soul searching and abandoning the biases of youth to accept Creedence into my life, but I am richer for it. This is not the album I'd pick - I feel we did Green River already - but its still a good one. No one can make a recording studio sound like a tin roof chicken coop the way CCR does.

Cosmo's Factory gets off to a rollicking start with the excellent "Ramble Tamble," an extended blues jam. CCR is one of those bands that excel at stringing songs out through instrumental exploration, as seen on "Run Through the Jungle" and "I Heard it Through the Grapevine," one of the finest versions of the oft-covered Motown classic. Their cover of Bo Diddley's "Before You Accuse Me" is also great and reinforces CCR as serious students of the American music canon.

Hard to evaluate fairly since so many of these songs are classic rock staples.
