The album cover art and name gave me low expectations, however, this was better than expected.

I was familiar with R.E.M.'s popular songs, but other than that never really listened to them. The Grateful Dead are an acquired taste for sure and a 24 minute Dark Star isn’t the song you want to play for a first time listener. But once you’re hooked, they’re so good. They’re more than just a band, they’re a way of life and culture that is stronger than ever 30 years after Jerry’s death.
