Of corse the song "Imagine" stands out. "Jealous Guy", "Crippled Inside", "How Do You Sleep?" and "Gimme Some Truth" are not bad. Compared to his big name it didn´t fully match my expectations!

Oh, how do I love that Neil Young acoustic guitar with harmonica shit on the A-side! "My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue)" is an anthem. And how do I love the energy of that grungy B-side! 🤘🎸 By the way - "It´s better to burn out than to fade away..."😉 Beyond that the recording-quality of this album is outstanding. I only rate it down one star because I question any kind of live-recordings on this list.

The well-known "le freak"-loop is very catchy and "i want your love" is ok. The rest of the album sonds not that "Chic" but very repetitive to me and don´t convinces me at all.

"At Fillmore East" contains some wonderful blues-rock-jams, is musically great and has got a pretty good recording quality. I rate it down because I generally question live-albums on this list knowing this is probably the only way to capture a jam session. And maybe two 20-minutes-songs are too much?!

Eminem has got a signature-sound that I like in almost every single song. Although "The Slim Shady LP" is - compared to other hip-hop/rap-albums - quite entertaining, one hour of hip-hop/rap bores me. Simply not my prefered gengre. 🤷‍♂️ 2,5

Never heared of JSBE before, but I got quite surprised by this album. Always wild, sometimes hard to digest, sometimes on the edge to annoying. But if you forget about the starting scream and the last track it´s most of the time fun to listen to. A weird mixture of Stones, Hives, AC/DC and Lenny Kravitz. Not an every day pick.

An album I heared of so many times but had´nt listened to before. I can´t resist this iconic performance ⭐⭐⭐⭐ although it is not my prefered style of music! Because I generally question live-albums on this list I rate it down one star.

There are so many songs on this album like "I Feel the Earth Move", "Beautiful", "You've Got a Friend", "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" that have crossed my way serveral times, not knowing they are from Carole King‼ Unbelievable🤦‍♂️ I love her voice and I like every song on this album although it´s not my prefered style of music. Feels almost like a greatest hits album! Great achievement! 4,5

Bit too lame and bit too aged for me. Even the hit-single "Close To You" doesn´t convince me at all.

"Papa Won't Leave You, Henry" and "Brother, My Cup Is Empty" are o.k. But the whole album don´t catches me at all.

"Parental Discretion Iz Advised" has a nice groove. Because of the Beastie Boys samples on "8 Ball (Remix)" this one is o.k. too. One of the better hip-hop albums but still not my prefered stuff. 2,5

A few nice electronic pieces like on "Groove Is In The Heart" but definitely nothing to come back for me.

Some really nice grooves. More diversified and more listenable than other hip hop stuff. But a full hour of hip hop is still too much for me. 🤷‍♂️

Nice and intense half hour of punk-rock. Musically I´m completely into it. Gave it a few tries, but maybe just because of the vocals or the production or what ever it doesn´t fully click for me. 🤷‍♂️ Favourite: "Search and Destroy", "Gimme Danger", "Raw Power", "I Need Somebody" 3,5

Musically almost funky or groovy. Of course "Psycho Killer" stands out. But even on that song the voice is just annoying! 🙉

Besides the well-known title track "Connected" and "Step It Up" nothing remarkable for me. Just 90s electronic music. 2,5

Never heared of them before. Musically reminds me very much of "Placebo" which I love - except the vocals. Not a single outstanding song but also no complete fails. 3,5

Metallica at their most accessible. An instant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐‼ I own this album for years and it still bangs like at first time. 🤘 The album is packed with Metallicas all-time classics. And none of these songs sounds aged. One hour of excellent power-metal!

Nice reggae album with no hits or fails. I like the cover artwork! Favourite: "Tyler" 2,5

I really like the concept of the album - metal with orchestra 🤘🎼! But I would love if they would have dived even more into the orchestra arrengements! Because some songs fit better in this concept than others I would rather condense it to one disc. Nonetheless it is almost a greatest hits collection. 3,5

Although I´m not into Hip-Hop I can´t resist the Run D.M.C. sound on this. The album contains the bangers "It's Tricky" and "Walk This Way" and some other good tracks like "Raising Hell", "You Be Illin'" and "Proud to Be Black". A pretty solid pick! 3,5

Not a single outstanding track but constantly nice funky tunes of guitar, rhythm and brass instruments. Buoyantly through the day!

Nice change from the other albums. I like the afro-and-jazz-combination. But it´s hard to rate! The original two track LP is only an EP and therefore I would give it only two stars. The 4 tracks CD reissue is ok. 2,5

The Doors introduced with this album their unique sound of vocals, keyboards, guitar and drums. It has got two eternal rock anthems with "Break On Through" and "Light My Fire" and except "End Of The Night" and "The End" (that got a bit too long for my taste) only strong tracks. Great debut! 4,5

Sounds like a bootleg to me. I generally like this kind of music and I´m sure it was a hell of experience to attend this concert 🤘 but neighter the recording quality nor the quality of the performance of the singer and the band matches my nowadays demands. This album hits my sweet spot.🍯 An epic, groundbreaking sound. Only great songs built up an even better unit. Guitar, vocals, drums, bass, production - all is top notch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Johnny Cash had the ability to build this unique, reduced, atmospheric sound of dark voice and guitar, so even all these cover-versions sound like Johnny Cash. And just because of the different origins of the songs this album sounds more diversified than other Johnny Cash albums. Nontheless a whole album of these sad songs is too much for me. favourite: "Hurt", "Personal Jesus" 3,5

Only good and mostly raw indie-rock-songs. But I´m not 100% into her voice. favourite: "Dress", "Hair", "Joe" weak four stars for this album 3,5

This album held a few surprises for me, because I had not known that the blueprint for "Gangsta’s Paradise" with "Pastime Paradise" is by Stevie Wonder and George Michaels "As" is originally by Stevie Wonder too. In addition there are the well known hits "Sir Duke", "Isn't She Lovely" and "Another Star". But besides all these hits the album is too long for me and has too many songs that don´t catch me at all. As often - less would be more 🤷‍♂️ As always his harmonica-play is great! 3,5

Nice coutry-rock album. Easy on the ears but maybe a bit too long?! I like him most on this, when he is more into rock. favourite: " New York, New York", "Firecracker", "Nobody Girl", "Gonna Make You Love Me", "Touch, Feel & Lose", "Tina Toledo´s Street Wlakin' Blues" 3,5

This album has an even too big variety of sounds for my taste. And nothing that hooks me. Only things I have heared before by other artists in an even better way. favourite: "Sidewalk Serfer Girl" 2,5

The album contains his megahits "Red Rain", "Sledgehammer", "Don't Give Up" and "Big Time"! The other weaker numbers in this cost him the five stars for me.

Except the weaker ones "Peace On Earth" and "Grace" I like every song on this album. And of course there are the hits "Beautiful Day", "Stuck In A Moment..." and "Elevation". Not as iconic like "The Joshua Tree" or "Achtung Baby" but a really nice and homogenic album. Weak ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. 4,5

Of course "Heart Of Gold" as an all time heavyweight stands out! Except the two weaker numbers "There´s A World" and "Words" only great songs on this album. 4,5

While having this album pop up, I immediately had "Why Does It Always Rain On Me" in my ear. This says a lot - about this specific song! But "Writing To Reach You", "Driftwood", "The Last Laugh Of The Laughter" and "Turn" are good as well. Over all a well crafted, very melodic and melancholic album. Weak four stars for that. favourite: "Blue Flashing Light" (hidden track😉) 3,5

This more electronic kind of reggae is a nice change from the recent albums. Never heared of him before but I don´t think I´ll come back. Nothing that really hooks me.🤷‍♂️ favourite: "Sunday Shining", "Your Love Gets Sweeter"

I like their sound. And with the hit-singles "Tonight, Tonight", "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" and especially "1979"‼ they had the basis for 40 mindblowing minutes. But a double album with almost two hours running time is a task much greater artists have already failed. And so have the Smashing Pumpkins for me too! One star down for not cutting it down to the (great) essence. 2,5

For me it´s only very good backgroundmusic in a bar.🤷‍♂️ 2,5

Unfortunately there is also a forgettable rest that makes it in total 76 minutes. 😞 3,5

The original version of this album got quite short and holds nothing remarkable for me although I like this kind of 90´s rock. The later added "Mrs. Robinson"- cover version secures them the three stars.

Two Banger "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)" and "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" plus some more solid tracks add up to a nice rockish🤘🎸 hip-hop album in best Run D.M.C. style. Hard for me to decide between three and four stars. 3,5

The album holds the three mega hits "Take On Me", "Hunting High And Low" and "The Sun Always Shines On TV". But the rest of the album is a bit too lame for my taste and don´t matches the quality of those three anthems. 3,5

What I´ve learned: The well known "You Can Leave Your Hat On" by Joe Cocker is only a cover version😉 Never heared of Randy Newman before but this album is definitely worth a listen! 3,5

For me this sound is the essence of rock.🎙🎸🥁🎹 No song like the other. The 50 minutes of the album fly by. A perfect workout for your speakers 🔊 and a chance to get to know all your neighbors.😉

Eminem has got that unique sound. And he has got the hits "Stan" and "The Real Slim Shady" on this. Quite strong album for a hip-hop act, but way too long. And "Kim" is hard to stand for me! 2,5

I own this album for years and have heared it a thousand times - but not recently. So I was quite surprised that - within this project - what I thought is an instant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ turned into a tricky desicion. But even though from nowadays perspective there are some weaker tracks on the B-side there are still enough bangers and is more than enough quality and energy (especially in the bass- and guitarplay) to rock every party! most favourite: "Otherside" 4,5
