I did not like

Didnt like ot

These guys are the suckiest sucks to ever suck.

not for me

No live albums thanks

What is the appeal?

So this is a live album but its a mashup of performances from different shows. That's cheating. The fact that it's live doesn't even add anything. Sometimes they'll say something cheeky between songs and then there's a polite applause after each track, which is actually just annoying. You would think if they are cherry picking from different gigs they would choose ones with more energy. The singing also pisses me off. He sounds exactly like someone who would wear those leather pants. The guitars are impressive i guess but cliche. Towards the end of the album I feel like I'm listening to a pantomime. Cringe.

I didn’t get all the way through this one. I’ve never really been much of Thin Lizzy fan, and this live album did nothing to change that for me.

Album unavailable

Not listening to this. Sorry. Listened to Mr Morales instead.

Important live compilation album historically but didn’t resonate with me. Muddy sound.

not anything new from the last 30 albums

80’s rocker. One good song.

I'm not going to lie, I dedn't listen to this album fully through. I REALLY disliked this album and I don't really know why. I do usually listen to rock and metal but for some reason this album just gave me a headache.

O fuck me, 17 komadov & live album. Ok. So far, it's a concert alright. What in dad rock is this hell I'm in? In kako pridem ven? "Massacre" mi je bil kr kul? (Možn, da zato k je ful kratek.) A, se mi je zdel, da prepoznam ta naslov ("The Boys Are Back in Town"). "Are You Ready?"

To me it sounded like more vocally talented version of Elivis and that classic 80s rock combined. Not bad. I don’t like that the album is only available in live.

Misleading album title.

no jsut no i hate classic rock

ah mano ao vivo não pqp

i'm sorry i am just not having fun listening to this.

1.5 stars What am I supposed to do with this? A double album of crappy rock I don’t want to listen to, but it’s live? It’s not for me. Maybe there’s something to appreciate here but I didn’t.

It's extremely rare that a Live album is good, and that being said, unless you were there to see the actual show, they're almost always a bad album... This isn't a good album.

Live albums are for fans. The exceptions prove the rule. This is not that exception.

Jesus CHRIST this is the most boring album I've ever listened to. It's so boring let me listen to something else please an album that isn't just similar guitar riffs let me out let me out let me out

Same old schlock from rock and roll pretenders.

fuck you and everyone who likes this

1. Jailbreak - 1.5 2. Love - 2 3. Cowboy - 1 4. Boys - 0

I'm really sorry. I've never liked Thin Lizzy. I've heard "The Boys are Back In Town" one too many times and just never loved it to begin with. Sad to say that out of the album, this ear worm was the only song that had something exciting to it.

Not another live album 😭 bro just give me the studio version this BLOWS

It barely even sounds like a live album? It’s like a worse version of not good songs to begin with.

No matter the artist, live albums are NOT for me

choices.

Hard Rock album, whose most well known song probably is "The Boys Are Back In Town". Being a live recording it might give the fans something close to what they may remember from their own live experience. Since I fon't have that I'd rather listen to a studio version. Mabey I'd give a better rating then.

➕the boys are back in town ➖still in love with you okay so almost all of this is taken off spotify and i dont have a lot to go off of, but what i *was* able to listen to was just middling 70s hard rock. i dont like live recordings ever, and this isnt an exception.

Fuck rating albums. Just let me listen.

Only 4 of the 17 songs are available on Spotify. This is a live album and I'm not sure why it's a "required album". They're a talented band with decent 70's rock band success. Best Song The Boys Are Back In Town

Not a fan or even an amused bystander-flat out painful to listen to an entire album of this mediocre music. The vocalists also provides the least inspired introductions I’ve heard from a major band. Seriously, why is this album selected? It is trash.

"Live double album" oh dear god (To be clear I gave it a chance but none of the songs clicked)

So far 0/2 on this generator, I get it. For the time it was omg amazing but now this is like basic music

J'aime pas vraiment les albums lives. J'ai trouvé ça vraiment long. Pis c'est pas trop mon genre. Une fois c'était ben en masse.

Nope - not for me

1 Star Not my type of music. It might have been better if I heard the non-live version. I won’t listen to this again

Not for me. Liked a lot of the guitar work, very impressive. I need more from this type of music to enjoy it fully.

Live albums really don't fit this list

Jesus Christ. I couldn’t wait for it to END LMAO. i promise it was the most unbearable hour and 16 minutes of my life :| the songs sounded all the same, the rock was too loud, noisy and boring. i liked Still In Love With You though. God save me from this band

Cliche filled crap. A song about cowboys, another about cowgirls. The bar for a double live album should be high. This had bad songs, poor recording quality, and a pathetic album cover.

Not for me. I can get that other people might like it, but it really really isn't my type of music

Dad boring songs zzzzzz

I don't get live albums. I like Thin Lizzy, I am familiar with the hits. I like a few of them. I like all the songs on this album less, because they aren't miked well, they aren't mixed well, they aren't performing at their best. I know the studio is fake, it's only the best takes spliced together, with mixing and production that is impossible live. I get that. I also like live music. I like the crowd atmosphere, the vamping, the crowd play, the whole experience. I hate most live records. They feel like those podcasts that are just some trust fund kids talking about nothing. I don't want to have a parasocial relationship with you, I get no joy from hearing other people like you. I want the art you choose to release. I want my music like any other art form. I want you to diligently craft a work that I experience. I don't want to watch you paint, I don't want to watch you edit a film, I don't want to play half your game. I want the painting, I want the film, I want a finished game that I know you're not going to drastically change. I don't want to hear you create an album, I want the album. The album that you made, with thought behind the mixing, the production, the order of the songs. All those artistic choices are lost in a live album. They're replaced with FOMO and parasocial hype. It's the laugh track of music. Thin Lizzy is a good band. They play well for the most part. I don't want to hear this version of any of their songs, because they don't elevate any of them.

Any girls out there who want more irish in them was the shout out from stage after second track …another 70’s LIVE concert no thrills

People complain about all the post punk on the list, but the real scourge are all the boring 70s hard rock live albums that basically serve as greatest hits albums because these bands weren't able to string together a proper album and instead relied on their half-decent singles.

boring, basic

personally just not a fan, its alright. just reminds me of australian uncle music

Not on tidal

Let me just say this first. I really can’t stand live albums. A live album always drips of pretentiousness, with self doubt sewed in between each song. As if they need to hear their fans cheering them on to give their work any credibility. With that being said this album is apparently not so live as they dubbed the shit out of it. Makes me think if they performed on SNL they would have lip synced a la Ashlee Simpson. Ashlee at least had “vocal cord inflammation”. What is Lizzy’s excuse for needing to dub their “Live” album? So my thoughts left are “WTF”. This might be the fakest album I’ve ever heard. Every song felt like an eternity to get through. This should be removed off this list immediately.

I should copy paste my review from almost every other live album on this list. But I just keep writing it over and over. If you don't like the band, you likely won't like the live show. There are some exceptions. Cash at Folsom prison for example. Shows that had a purpose that elevated the music in a way rather than taking a snapshot of the band at a moment in time. It's not that this show or the music in it is played poorly. It's that a concert recording is normally serves three purposes. 1. To give the fans something close to what they may remember from their own live experience. 2. To cap off an era of a bands output. Like a thesis statement to an era. 3. To fulfill a contractual agreement with a record label. None of these reasons are bad. But when it comes to the band Thin Lizzy, I personally don't fit into any of those categories. And most listeners won't. This record is not culturally significant. It doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before, or better. It's just a live recording. And should not be in the book.

live albums just don't cut it

Why is this essential? It's such a dull album. I didn't realize it was a best concerts of all time? Because this doesn't do anything that an actual album doesn't do better.

No thanks

This site really wants me to get my fill on live albums. Can't say I complain. Like all of the other live albums I've listened to, I think it's pretty hard to get a feel for these songs when I have no prior experience with the studio versions. To a non Thin Lizzer, and with zero audience interaction or any transformation of these songs that I can gleam, this album was excruciatingly long and boring for me. On the bright side, I had no idea that "The Boys Are Back In Town" was an Irish export. That's pretty cool

Livealbum

I like Thun Lizzy, but I could not get into this album for some reason. Maybe it's the fact it is a mix of concerts with some studio dubbing

I like thin lizzy but I was VERY bored. Not a fan sadly. Never have liked a live album tbh.

Fave was emerald. To be honest I didn’t really like it all that much. Don’t really care for live albums unless it blows me away. This just didn’t do that. 1

Live album + shlock 70s metal + never heard of them + shit vocals + boring shit + mix is awful NNN

It’s an ok live album. I know a couple of their songs, which sounded decent…..but that may have more to do with their post concert mixing than the actual performance. Nothing to write home about.

I have nothing with Thin Lizzy

Only 4 tracks available on Spotify. I don't want to bother hunting down the rest.

I'm not a live album person

3/10 Highlights Still in Love With You The Boys are Back in Town

Live albums are pointless.

Overrated

I already don’t care for live albums. I care not for live butt rock.

Positively miserable. On my birthday too

Live albums simply shouldn't be on this list.

Only 3 songs out of 17 will play. What is that about? Not a fan.

not for me at all

Got to be a pretty good recording and performance for me to get into a live album. This was not either.

D/Q 4 out of 17 tracks were unavailable to listen to in the Spotify link provided, so I need to rank this album as a D/Q

Very nice album! But I'll keep giving one star to live albums because of fairness to studio albums.

I'm gonna be consistent. This is a compilation of the artist's other works. Augmented with 40 minutes of audience noise before and after the songs.

I could only manage about 4 songs of this. I am not a fan of Thin Lizzy and I do not particularly care for live albums.

This sounds like it was recorded on a potato using two turnips connected by yarn. I generally like thin lizzy but live albums are rarely worth the listen to me.

Gonna sound harsh, but I found this album really boring and tedious. Maybe I’m not a live version guy but I found this pretty bland.

Live, sure. Dangerous? Sure. Dangerously boring.

"This is uh..."

I hate it

Mah...

They just wanted to slap another live album on the list so they reached into a bag blind and pulled this out

I got as far as the second track and its terrible intro and bailed. Rock music can be a terrible thing, if this album is anything to go by. Plodding, predictable and overdone.

Live album - automatic 1

Maybe I’ve never been a 70s hard rock fan. Or a live album fan. I’m doing this project to try to explore more. But I was glad when this album was over. Every song just felt almost indistinguishable from the next and from any other hard rock band of the time.

I in general don’t like live albums and I hated this one. Boring.

Trying to kill me.

Did I really have to listen to this whole album just to hear “the boys are back in town”? Not a fan. The album sounded like AI created it by listening to only 10 hours of only the B sides of 70s rock albums.

Why would I listen to a live album by a band that I don't know nor like. I don't understand why it's on this list, at least give me one of their actual albums

Don’t think I have ever heard this before - I was 4 when it was first released

Generic rock? Live album? Goes on for 90 minutes? Oh boy, now we're really cooking with gas. The only people capable of making good live albums are Johnny Cash, Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain. I don't care for this type of rock, and I especially don't care for this type of rock but in worse audio quality, with people yelling in between songs.

Corny af and I tuned out for most of it. I'm getting a little tired of rock bands making familiar sounding and totally nondescript music.

Not really live and not remotely dangerous. Should be called Overdubbed and Boring. Even “The Boys Are Back in Town’ is a snooze.

I dislike Live albums, but this technically a live album with songs dubbed that aren't live. Which feels a bit disingenuous.

pure cock rock. even the album cover is cock.

Of "boys are back in town" one hit wonders really, everything else is crap

Nope. Not remotely interested and was also out off by the “how many girls out there want a little Irish in them?” line. I find it difficult to like and respect that sort of tone in 2021.

Not a fan of live albums, so had to skip.

Pretty boring, sounds like generic rock music to me.
