Title track and Mrs. Robinson cover = great. Everything else = mid
Too long
Would go 3.5 if I could. Incredible musicianship bogged down by lyricism that feels juvenile at many points.
Another 3.5. Theres a reason they're #4 of the big 4
As someone who enjoys so much of what this influenced, it's a challenging listen to say the least. Does that mean it should have a "classic" rating? It's the classic album to point to if someone claims they "listen to everything" and you want to put that to the test, sure. But does it need to be in the same conversation as some of the best music ever made? I'm not sure I believe that to be true.
Production is great, I enjoy Freak on a Leash, but man it hasn't aged well at all.
I don't seek Taylor out yet I knew a good chunk of this album. I think that speaks volumes. The only thing keeping it from a 5 for me is the lack of variety in the lyrics.
EDM isn't for me so I'm not surprised I didn't enjoy this, but it was far more boring than I anticipated. Not sure if I need to hear this before I die.
Good punk album lifted up by the saxophone section
Arctic Monkeys, but not. They're not something I seek out often, but I respect. Same story here
Reggae's never been my jam outside of a few Bob Marley songs. Mad respect for the man behind this, but the album itself didn't wow me.
Only partially available on Tidal and YT Music so can't fully rate
I thought it was satire, and when it became apparent that it wasn't, I quickly checked out.
AC/DC perfected their craft. It may be simple, but there's some really catchy songs on this album. As a rock and metal enthusiast, you'd think I'd like this more but their simplicity has bored me more often than it's entertained me.
I've only gotten one other Nick Cave album and I enjoyed the punk elements and style a lot. That isn't to say this was bad, but I wasn't expecting somber piano throughout. I suspect a different mood gets a higher rating from me.
Had a hard time putting my 70s hat on for some country, a genre I'm already pretty "meh" on.
