Pink Floyd
5/5
some of the most iconic, catchy, and accessible psychedelic songs ever.
I'm more of a fan of The Wall, but there's no experience like listening to some of these songs for the first time. Money, Great Gig in the Sky, Time, any color you like, ... and more. instant 5/5 when i saw this come up.

The White Stripes
4/5
kinda noisy, general purpose rock but with great drum/guitar rhythms. Theres a great edge to the vocals and lyrics. Interesting quiet and loud parts. Super suprised by the white stripes. They can write some good songs--emotional ballads to rock anthems.

noise and chaos. angsty rhythms. trancelike music interludes, with lovely progressive buildups. i'm listening at an office workplace but this would go hard as a running mix, especially "do you compute". kind of a dreadfull sonic violence. fantastic.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
4/5
Ok this is a really strange combo of styles.
Feels like a time traveler from 2005 went back to 1967 and recorded a bunch of random demos. The electric guitar instrumentals sound really good even today in 2025. A lot of the other stuff sounds like sound effect tracks for movies or something. But its not just noise, there's almost a progressive rock type vibe going on as well. --just looked itup, is psychedelic, which makes a lot of sense now. 4/5 because theres just so much lore and interesting sounds like this going on at the same time as the popular generic sounds like the british invasion stuff.
Soul II Soul
