Reviews (page 7 of 15)

Listening to this for fun is great - it rocks, it jangles, it moves along nicely and has Don't Look Back in Anger. But when you review it critically, it starts to fall apart - it's way too repetitive, the vocals are grating and annoying at times, and the lyrics are really lackluster and sounds like a try hard high schooler wrote them. But I choose to not listen critically and just accept it for what it is, which is a nice listen occasionally

Awesome. The fact that wonderwall is overplayed doesn't take away from the fact that this is just really good '90s rock. I'm very much on board.

I can see why this band is polarizing. The hits are good, but everything else is kind of meh. 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4.

I mean, there are some classics in here

Very good , favorit is wonderwall and hello

What a strong start to this journey of mine! This album is phenomenal, and so is Oasis. I’ve listened to the album plenty of times before, so it was nice to have that familiarity. I quite enjoyed the noises approaching my ears, and this carefully crafted work of art was mesmerizing.

Really liked this album. Indeed, it's a classic. Many parts feel straight out of a movie and the entire thing flows together very nicely. I give it a 4 out of 5 just because a lot of the album is not something I would listen to regularly; a little bit too "loud," and several verses felt repetitive, but it's definitely unique and worthy of a spot on your list.

GOATED FIRST ALBUM!! Oasis might just be my childhood as a sound. Top 3: 1. Champagne Supernova 2. Don’t Look Back In Anger 3. Wonderwall

This is the album that gave men the confidence to pick up a guitar at a house party when no one asked.

Good album, liked it. Cant really find why though. It was good quality in my opinion but i cant find what the "it" factor is with oasis. Its good music, but nothing stands out to me as thats why i like it. Clasics like wonderwall always hit in a way but still. Overall liked the album

An absolute classic album, and one that holds up to this time. Despite being meer on very hard, one cannot say that wonderwall is actually a bad song. It does pop rock just how it should be. Oasis remains one of the greatest bands of all time for a reason.

Really good album. Knew wonderwall, don't look back in anger, and champagne supernova.

They may have birthed a generation of guitar bros at house parties (me included) but man did they have a banger of an album here. The hits are obviously the standouts, and the other songs are okay. Great addition to the list.

I was pretty excited to get this album today since I was only aware of the hits… and man those songs are massive! The rest of the album doesn’t live up to the hype but overall it was an enjoyable listen. But I dare someone to name a catchier guitar lick than the one that closes “Don’t Look Back In Anger” holy shit that’s good.

Love it!! I liked most on the album besides the first couple of tracks maybe, didn’t caught my attention too much. The rest of the album instead was pure vibes, enjoyed it a lot

4.09/5 Stars Top Songs: Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back in Anger, Hello

Roll with it started to hurt my ears a little but overall it was good. I can hear the criticism of them going to pop and mainstream. I will also say I think overall they are slightly overrated and I think their massive feud helped turn them into something bigger than they would have been without it. But there are some hits on this that have a great alt pop rock sound that make you want to dance along and be super mellow at the same time.

Oasis is a band that I'm just kinda meh about but this grew on me. It's pretty good! Wonderwall feels overplayed but it's still a good song. Lots of other good songs too with pretty good songwriting. I don't understand what's up (With The Parenthesis) but Rock On?

This is a great album but Wonderwall is BY FAR the most overrated song of the 90’s. So overrated and overplayed that I don’t even include it in my general 90’s hits playlist. It’s just a really dumb song. The rest of the album is well written and is varied enough to stay interesting over the years. Oasis are not the best band of all time that they think they are. Their first two albums are pretty great but beyond that they have their heads so far up their asses they can see daylight coming into their mouths.

Some of my friends back in high school were really into Oasis but I somehow just never got into them. Listening to this album for the first time in nearly a couple of decades and I feel like I appreciate it more. Maybe I've mellowed out more or my musical tastes have just expanded but, regardless, I enjoyed the album, overall, and will listen again.

She’s electric

Not as good as debut but still very good

probably the best britpop album. The hits were amazing and the cuts were all at a high standard. This is a low 9/10

Beatles-meets-grunge. Very good but sometimes lost in itself

*Listened before the project* Wanna say something really offensive to them but I really love champagne supernova, and it is too embarrassing to admit that. btw fuck u Liam Gallagher you are real piece of s**t

One of my best Never Have I Evers is "Never have I ever been a colossal douche enough to learn how to play Wonderwall on guitar and subject other humans to it at parties in an attempt to look sensitive." But seriously, What's The Story Morning Glory is a nice evolution from Oasis's debut album, which was also a pretty solid showing. This album has more depth and isn't afraid to try some different styles. They slow things down a bit while maintaining their energy and it works out well. Standouts on this listen were "Don't Look Back in Anger" "Some Might Say" "Morning Glory" and "Champaign Supernova." And, I mean, sure, "Wonderwall." It's a meme at this point so why not? Overall I like the album, even more than their previous record. It's got some really good jams. I didn't quite grow up with Oasis but I like what I hear when I listen to them. This would have absolutely been on repeat in my teens if I had gotten into it earlier. Very solid 4/5, would listen again.

A classic. I don`t think this album is overrated! I had a pretty bad day and this album actually helped me getting up and walking to school. My favourite songs are hey now, morning glory and of courrrrssssse DON`T LOOK BACK IN ANGER!!! Sorry but this is just a masterpiece. -Lemon

In many ways Oasis the perfect mid 90's band. The sound of "Morning Glory" rings out like a harbinger of what is to come for alternative music for the rest of the decade. The album playfully pushes against the music conventions coming from the last years of europop, grunge, and pop hip hop, and offers something both gritty, poppy, approachable. Still full of crunchy guitar, the songs are amended with melodies saccharine to glum and orchestral overtures. So many of the hits are undeniably sing along songs that are nearly predetermined to feature in any bar with a digital juke box serving Harps between the hours of 12:00am and 4:00am. No slouching, the Gallaghers themselves with stories of disfunction and hooliganry just embolden the mythos of some sort of Gen X Beatles: not about love, not about peace, but about getting pissed on lager, head-butting someone, and walking home smoking your last spliff. Almost like an iceberg of Alternative Music, we smash right into Oasis in 95' and out falls from the hull Weezer, Matchbox 20, Eve 6, The Verve, Ben Folds Five, Goo Goo Dolls, New Radicals, etc. etc. It's undeniable the impact that Oasis had, and specifically this album. The singles off this album seemed to have decades of staying power, and still got playtime even years after Oasis had moved on. Despite that this album has some really great songs on it, I am still baffled that this band sold out the Man U stadium for 5 nights, nearly half a million packing themselves into nosebleeds to see Wonderwall.

After the initial buzz of excitement for their first album and the release and catchy, fun & often euphoric nature of this hugely successful follow up, they became ubiquitous & overexposure led to cooling towards WtSMG. 30 odd years on and being tasked to listen again here and detached from the Britpop wars of the time, this is just a great sing-along rush of an album that has surprisingly few low points and a few highs. I find myself really enjoying the Richard Ashcroft tribute Cast No Shadow, She's Electric and Some Might Say. But then there are the bigger songs and the closing epic Champagne Supernova so you really have quite a complete work here and despite really NOT being an Oasis fan and going nowhere near their recent reform tour (not even tempted), f*ck it this is a 4.5 star album so here leans towards a...

Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger

Kind of a guilty pleasure album. Still bangs. 4/5

Added the whole entire thing to my playlist. Love Oasis down <3. Definitely want to explore more music like this. Great listening experience

Classic album

So far Roll with it is my favorite, also don’t look back in anger, also hey now, also she’s electric, also morning glory, lastly champagne supernova. Solid album. Rating: 8.5/10. Need more listens.

No need to write a review. It has been reviewed to death. Maybe more than death. Death consistently gets a low score. This album always gets a near fucking perfect score. Is it perfect? No. Is it derivative? Certainly, they just ripped off the Beatles. Does anyone care. Not a fucking bit. Is it listenable, entertaining, and you can listen all the way through? Exactly. 4.5/5

Bruv-core

look if you can't go full anglophile and imagine singing don't look back in anger absolutely pissed at the pub with the lads and then going back to your loft on the chube with wonderwall playing in your head, you just hate life plain and simple

Quite liked it! Pretty light, some good songs, knew the major ones. What makes me not sure is that they all sounds a bit samey? But it was a fun listen

This is a fine album. I had very low expectations due to how annoyed I end up being about Wonderwall, but the songs are pretty good over all. I would give it a 3.5. Still deciding if I'm rounding up or down.

Sunny winter morning. I actually didn’t realize so many notable songs came from this album. Upbeat vibes all around. Champagne supernova supremacy. Feeling inspired to listen to more oasis. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is cuz I love it but I’m not like in love w it

Excellent album with quite a few bangers on it. Never get tired of listening to Wanderwall.

The title track is amazing, although singles overplayed, this album is great. I think it was too “old” for me when it came out, I was 14 and thought it was too lame and mainstream. For all the britpop in this list of albums this has to be king.

Songs: "Hello" 7/10, "Roll With It" 7.5/10, "Wonderwall" 10/10 legit, "Don't Look Back in Anger" 8/10, "Hey Now!" 7.5/10, "Some Might Say" 8/10, "Cast No Shadow" 7/10, "She's Electric" 7.5/10, "Morning Glory" 6.5/10, "Champagne Supernova" 8/10. Thoughts: Singer sounds far away from the mic in the album. Good British voice. Sick guitar and drums. Wonderwall is such a banger despite what anyone might say. Real catchy hooks. Upbeat Ratings: 8/10. Really like. Some of the songs blend together, but I would buy this record.

Haven’t listened to it in a long time. Lots of bangers, lovely vibe

They’re really good at writing the first half of a song. All-time heaters interspersed with grating repetition that long overstays its welcome. Overall positive on this one but I got visibly upset as the lack of lyrical variety in some of the tracks were almost comically obvious.

I don't quite get the lyrics but they're such earworms Tracks to Track: Don't Look Back in Anger, She's Electric, Hello

Enjoyed it. Didn't love it.

"I mean, hey, it's the Wonderwall album." That's the only thought I had when I was looking through the track list for this album. To my surprise, this album was far more than it's hit single. It didn't even come close to being my favorite track by the end. I think this album, in its entirety, deserves more love and recognition than it gets. The vocals and lyricism are great, and don't even get me started on that guitar. I could listen to it for hours. I was pleasantly surprised by just how fantastic this was.

This is far better than their first album. Just about every song is good and it houses a truly amazing number in “Don’t Look Back In Anger”

It’s good music. Sincerely. I just don’t understand the cult following. I personally think they are overrated but again I enjoy the music quite a bit. An album with strong vocals supported by great rock beats on tracks like Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, and Don’t Look Back in Anger. The off tracks still keep your attention and it’s worthy of being a regular attendee in your musical lineup.

6.5/10

Wonderwall is, of course, a 5/5 song. The rest of the album is pretty classic indie britpop, although that's probably obvious at this point. I never really got into Oasis, which is strange because it's certainly music I'd enjoy. However, the album itself just felt like it was missing something, and that's why it's only 4/4. Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova are my favourites from this album.

one of their best albums

I haven't listened to this album in years, even with all the hype around their reuniting and touring again. I gotta say, those wankers were really onto something. Just a well-made album from start to end. Some great hooks and melodies throughout. Morning Glory still gets a ton of hype to this day and most of it's deserving. Champagne Supernova is goated. And for the record, I'm #TeamLiam Favorite Tracks: Roll With It, Don't Look Back in Anger, Some Might Say, Champagne Supernova

Pretty great album.

Ok. I’ll admit it. This isn’t bad.

The album that showed North Americans what the fuss was all about. A killer record.

A classic, can't be denied. Their best album in my opinion.

Wonderwall is so overplayed, I rolled my eyes when this album came up. But, it was really good.

Classic! Not good enough imo to warrant a 5.

Might have been just a little too young at the time to appreciate this. I didn't like Oasis, so this was my first time listening to an album of theirs. I was surprised - and impressed -that I wasn't just aware of the songs, but knew them well - lyrics and all. This album obviously had a lot more impact than I remember. Anthemic. Wonderwall is a bit pants and overplayed though, init? I was also impressed at how such a shit singer doesn't become annoying enough to make you turn it off before 50 minutes is up. I actually enjoyed it. I honestly thought Don't Look Back in Anger was the best song on the album though. Noel is definitely the talented one. Good listen, and a lesson for me not to be so dismissive in future!

I'm a Definitely Maybe apologist, and I've heard Wonderwall enough times to last a lifetime, but I do appreciate the evolution and maturation that you can see Oasis went through in the writing/recording of this album

Really enjoyed this one, some of the songs were a bit long for my taste but I understand that’s the vibe. However it made me zone out a little. Don’t look back in anger will always be amazing

Kiedyś dałbym im max 2. No ale nostalgia dodała im 2 kolejne. 😃

Good listening

I had some preconceived notions of oasis going into this but they defeated my prejudice and won me over

Still holds up pretty well.

Still a potent blast of Britpop.

The ultimate 'lager rock' album—brash, bold, and unapologetically British. While Wonderwall has long overstayed its welcome in public consciousness (arguably one of the most overrated songs of the era), the album still packs a punch. Roll With It is undeniably catchy, and Don't Look Back in Anger remains a belting anthem, especially with Noel Gallagher on vocals—he really should have sung more of the record. It’s very much of its time, soaked in mid-90s swagger and lad culture, but its impact on British music and pop culture is undeniable. Whether you love it or loathe it, it’s hard to ignore.

Rightfully the seminal work of Brit pop.

oh this is the wonderwall album huh deep rich warm sound. relaxing and pleasant and often throws in interesting musical choices (helicopter, waves, other sounds i cannot immediately recognize) that keep me guessing and wanting more. feels crowdpleasing in a way that isn't sacrificing artistic intent. a dub favorite song: the only one I'll really remember is Wonderwall but Champagne Supernova recency bias is doing some things

schon schön, ja

3 or 4, let's say 4

Lol didn't think i was gonna rate it this high but sounds good

People describing this as "lager rock" as if that's a bad thing

Generational hits intermixed with dramatic sitcom filler music. I just want to know how Liam Gallagher is able to make his voice sound like that! Anyway, here's Wonderwall...

Adverts have slightly ruined a few Oasis songs. I wonder how much advertisers pay Oasis? This album has many famous songs, like the unfortunately overrated "Wonderwall". The fake-out at the beginning of "Hello" was amusing. Another week has finished. 4 stars for "(What's the Story) Morning Glory".

Good! Well executed anthem/ arena rock

Surprised! I really liked it. I thought I'd find the voice to whiny after a while, but no. Great songs, great vibes, really, really good.

Catchy tunes and solid songwriting. While it’s a great piece of musical history, it’s definitely overplayed. I've reached my limit with Wonderwall years ago.

I guess it's cool to hate Oasis but this album is sick. It got a ton of hits and the deep cuts I've never heard before sound just as good to me. Fun angsty lyrics and upbeat fun melodies with clear Beatles influence with a more modern sound. Any one that hates this is probably I little stuck up and not very fun at parties.

The Gallagers are not my favorite, especially with Liam's voice. However, something about this album hit today. I think the overall melancholy vibe really fit with the atmosphere I'm feeling. Plus, there are no duds on this album. Favorite Songs: Hey Now!, Champagne Supernova

High 4 and play wonderwall

Wonderwall and Don't look back in anger on here. Their by far biggest hits. The rest is also pretty solid

Not a beck fan

Wonderwall! it's been fun to hear the entire album with these songs I'm familiar with

A classic. Even though wonderwall is a meme, the album is solid.

A nice album, I really like the voice of the lead singer and the also the atmosphere is amazing Fav songs - Roll with It, Don't Look Back in Anger, Some Might Say 4/5

Nice, not really memorable but nice rock

Rating: 3.9 I have an extensive history with The Best Oasis Album. My dad bought it when I was a tween, along with PJ Harvey’s Rid of Me. I nearly fell asleep in the car for PJ, but despite my lack of knowledge of what had been a radio hit in the years prior to my birth, this one was more accessible to me from the start. Infinitely sing-alongable stuff. Almost makes me forget that they are the most Br*tish band of all time which docks a few points.

I surprised myself by really enjoying it! Never listened to much Oasis but should clearly remedy that.

I must be in a good mood this morning

A pretty solid album, the hits were great! I think k liked most of the acoustic versions on the deluxe edition of the album a lot too. I’d say 4 stars just because of the singles, but it’s between 3 and 4

It’s not often that a website says, “So, anyways, here’s Wonderwall”. This album is a wonderful listen. Perfectly depicting 90s ennui through poetic lyrics and very catchy tunes. If only the brothers had been able to get it off their own way, who knows what they would have accomplished.

wonderwalling

another one I have on cd I guess I'll relisten again when I get the time

Very well recorded and produced album. Good to test acoustics and sound signature, there is enough variety and dynamic range to test any frequency needed. This album really highlights why Oasis became the band that they are today.

# Playlist Track - Wonderwall # Notes - Wonderwall must be one of the most over-played songs in the history of over played songs. But it is pretty good. And it was a significant part of my teenage years. - This is a pretty good album. Carries some nostalgia, but I reckon it aged well and I would recommend it even for those way younger than me.

Not my favorite Oasis album but still very good. It definitely flows together great and is great pop songwriting. I kind of wish it was less of a wall of sound but I guess that's what they're going for with the whole '60s/Stone Roses influence?

Complicated feelings on this one. In the 90s I was very much Team Blur. I didn't appreciate Oasis or what they were putting out. Listening to this 30 years on and with my son going to see them live and wearing their t shirts, I feel I need to reappraise. I still don't like Liam's whiny vocal style. But this is a really solid album. So many tracks were released as singles. So many have gone on to become iconic. Gotta hand it to them, I prefer this to The Great Escape these days.

classic. 90s. great.

I knew and already liked most of these. Absolutely solid album. Imagine this would be pretty special to hear live.

Wonderwall sucks

I didn’t want to like this but I rather did

I'm having a hard time talking myself into giving this less than a 4 for the sheer volume of hits. I like how the album was arranged, and while I'm not a huge Oasis fan on the whole, I'm left feeling like I do gotta hand it to them

I grew up on "80's, 90's, and today" radio so embarrassingly, i have a fondness here. I really do love Don't Look Back in Anger tho. 3.5

A pretty solid album with a couple of standout tracks.

Can't deny this is a great album, even if it's not really what I'm into

74/1089 i quite enjoyed listening through this project and realising that i already know/have heard every other song on it. it helps that the music is good too of course. the album is solid throughout and even with so many hits, no track feels subpar 76/100 faves: Don’t Look Back I. Anger, Hey Now, Swamp Song (both), Morning Glory

4, but only because it has literally the three best Oasis songs all on this album. Many of the other tracks miss for me and sound like generic 90s stuff.

Solid album, waste of a band

Just listened to this a month or so ago, but went ahead and listened again. A couple of the biggest singles from the 90s on here. 4/5.

Good Brit pop. Not sure why it’s so huge but the songs are generally good

90s Banger 4/5

Great album, not perfect- but so many classics. Faves: wonderwall, don’t look back in anger, champagne supernova

I'm both deeply surprised and happy to know that Wonderwall is not the only good song on this album. The guitars feel really overwhelming in a way that only 90s British ecstasy addicts could do for some reason. That and the vocals make the album uniquely Oasis while still sounding like the stuff that inspired it. Maybe it's the fact that I haven't listened to the radio in a pretty long time, but I think this album was one of the bigger surprises so far from this list. I am now contractually obligated to say "anyways, here's Wonderwall," so anyways, here's Wonderwall.

They're okay. I know people have been losing their minds seeing them tour

WONDERWALL! no but seriously this is a really good album. champagne supernova absolutely FUCKS. 8/10

I thought this was a little boring on first listen but I did go back and end up listening to the album all the way through a second time and really enjoyed it. Some obvious bangers on here and I loved the variety of moods.

Was my favourite Oasis album back in the day, but I don't think it's aged quite as well as the debut. I guess Gary Glitter references will do that. Still, the title track might yet remain my favourite Oasis track.

Super cool. 3. Good 3 tho. Champagne Supernova omg! Maybe 4.

I really do fw these guys. Is that weird? Who else fw these guys?

This second LP from this band is a solid group of songs with a big hit single in Wonderwall. A couple other good cuts too in Morning Glory and Champagne Supernova. I like the lead singers voice.

It was in everyone's car and it's a classic album for me

With It Don't Look Back In Anger Champagne Supernova

Definitely Maybe kreeg lachend 5 sterren. 8/10 Highlights Don't look back in anger Some might say Champagne supernova

Pretty good. The hits are big, and the unknowns are still good. I got into Heathen Chemistry and never listened to this one, but it was good to go back to oasis.

--Hello...good opener. how much you like Oasis is probably dependent on your tolerance for the signature Liam nasal snarl. I like it. for now --Roll With It...generic 60s throwback --Wonderwall...overplayed to death by every dude on a college campus with an acoustic guitar but for a good reason: it's a legitimately great track. the lyrics get a little sentimental, but it's counterbalanced by the Mellotron/cello and Liam's untrained vocals --Don't Look Back in Anger...we get it, guys, you like the Beatles. It's a solid hit. great sing-along chorus. Noel's voice adds a different dimension to the group --Hey Now...plodding and overlong --The Swamp Song (V1)...rock interlude --Some Might Say...song's generic but I like the production --Cast No Shadow...I like this one but I wonder if Liam's voice is too acidic(?) for it. Should it be a Noel track? but then we wouldn't get Noel's great backup vocals. tough choice --She's Electric...totally not a Beatles song --Morning Glory...high quality rocker --The Swamp Song (V2)...interlude --Champagne Supernova...silly and too long but the production is great. I will always respect a band that can get an eight minute song on the radio

Yeah it's fine.

En britpop till, Oasis, med exempelvis Wonderwall och Don't look back in anger. Det här är bra! Det är väldigt mycket Beatles.

Oasis, What's the Story, Morning Glory ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What I'm gonna say ain't been said already? I liked some of their later and lesser-known work because maybe it wasn't so obviously Beatlesque. 'Cause listen if we're gonna go mod, why not listen to The Who or The Jam. Punk? Take your pick of others. For straight sneering rock'n'roll, they're up their with The Rolling Stones. Just maybe not on this record. I wished they'd poured it on with more Morning Glory, more Supersonic, fewer Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova singalongs.

I prefer this album over their first work. More pleasant for ears, maybe more commercial, but it's fine. Still can't fully dive deep into Oasis music, bbut it's ok.

It’s clear why they can sell out stadia 30 years later.

High school days

They have a very consistent guitar-driven sound. Lyrically complex, full of hope, longing, and introspection.

Exactly what I expected from an Oasis album. I would have been obsessed with this in high school

today do day do day day day day day day day day dayyyyyyy

Pre-listening thoughts: fuck me. well. ok. This is one of those albums where I know it's going to be good, whether I like it or not. I hate oasis. But. We will see. Post/during listening thoughts: listen i cannot stand these stupid brothers. More often than not the singing is grating and the song topics feel whiny. But occasionally on this album they really do strike gold. Champagne Supernova may just be one of the greatest album closers of all time. Forever a Blur girl but... damn. 8/10 DID I NEED TO HEAR THIS BEFORE I DIE: no Fav tracks: wonderwall (whatever don’t laugh), don’t look back in anger (more like don’t look back in banger), Cast no shadow, champagne supernova Least fav tracks: swamp songs

svag fyra

Mad for it

- strong opening song, good - same sound throughout. good sound. but samey.

First album ever bought, good times

i’m trying to assess this album in a vacuum and not compare it to blur because i think that’s the only fair way to approach it. you’re welcome, liam. (noel gets nothing from me.) WELLLLL it’s a good record! is it the best in the world? is it the best of 1995? is it particularly groundbreaking in terms of the musical arrangements, lyrical content, overall structure? NO!!!! is ‘champagne supernova’ one of the greatest songs of all time? YES!!!! the best oasis songs have a wonderful anthemic quality to them, which is what i imagine is the driving force of their appeal. to me, this does not indicate great art. but not every pop rock album has to be great art. i think they take a very classical, 1950s/60s-era approach to rock n roll: simple, infectious, great to sing along to, nothing you have to think too hard about. ok i’m putting my blur fan hat back on. it’s frankly ludicrous that they’re compared to blur because blur so obviously blows them out of the water when it comes to artistry, creative innovation, emotional depth, etc. i can see why people might personally prefer oasis, but they are not OBJECTIVELY better by any metric. however, i will concede that this is a better album than *the great escape*. but only barely. and ‘roll with it’ is equally as stupid as ‘country house’. [ariana grande voice] it’s equality. fav tracks: champagne supernova; hey now!; cast no shadow; wonderwall

That was very fun! I noticed the Beatles' influence on their sound much more than in the past, which I enjoyed hearing because I like how the Beatles sound although I can't imagine putting on a whole album of this instead of just listening to the Beatles in that case. I can imagine this being great in a large stadium. I don't think it's anything much deeper than that. It's a bit odd at times to hear such simple and often stupid-sounding, fake-deep lyrics ("All your dreams are made when you're chained to the mirror and the razor blade") paired with this kind of music. But I know that Oasis kind of didn't really care about creating poignant lyrics so they're just meant as a vehicle for the songs' earworminess. On that note, they are great at writing a catchy hook. Actually letting "Wonderwall" play all the way through, rather than rolling my eyes that I have to hear that overplayed song again, made me hear it for what it is: a fun and catchy pop song with actually kind of strange and interesting chord choices at times and an infectious bass line. I didn't really come across any songs that I didn't already like ("Don't Look Back In Anger", "Champagne Supernova", "She's Electric"), except for "Cast No Shadow" (which kind of just sounded like a blur song to me), and "Morning Glory" (the epitome of what I've described this album to be -- probably great on a large scale live but with stupid lyrics). There were also many times that I felt I'd enjoy it more if I liked the vocals more but I can cope. Fav tracks: Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova, She's Electric, Cast No Shadow

Hit after hit on the album. Enjoyed it surprisingly more than I expected. Mixed like shit though

Brad would be so happy for me. Hello is a banging track to kick this album off.

Really good vibe, great guitar and vocals.

All the hits plus some extra good ones

Best British music of the 90s, tons of great songs in here. Album never really lags or asks to be skipped. Don't Look Back in Anger is peak

Best Song: Don't Look Back in Anger I had to have listened to this back in my college days but don't really remember. This is a good album, not great, but good. Don't Look Back in Anger is quite possibly the best pop song to come out of the 90s, so this gets a 4/5 for that song alone!

After years of being lukewarm to this, I actually really appreciated it this time around. Energetic and maximalist with a vision, and none of the chalkboard scratching sound that nearly all britpop sounds like.

it was a good album but all songs sounded like wonderwall. 3.5 stars

I used to dislike oasis with a passion. After watching a documentary about them I started to appreciate it a bit more. Liam still can't sing and the songs by noel are better, but overall the album sounds really good. I do hate wonderwall, it used to be the standard campfire song with an acoustic guitar and I really really hate acoustic guitars around a campfire and people singing along even more shitty than Liam sang it

Ah shit man these things happen i guess. So i dont actually hate oasis as much musically as I pretend to but I've never been able to bring myself to listen to an album. So let's see shall we. Okay a sort of overture in the wonderwall tease... I can appreciate that. I'm anticipating that if im to have favourite oasis songs they'll be deep cuts. I like some might say. Oh that's on here! A shining light to look forward to. I just hate Liam Gallaghers voice i hate it i hate it. Okay shut up listen critically. Roll with it is... better than I remember probably. Idk its a deeply whatever single but it's kind of a perfect track 2. like Let's Get Rollin Boys! By getting roll with it over and done with. Wonderwall always dupes me on the verse im like ah its alright actually innit and then the chorus. Stop making that noise. I'm never gonna try and claim Don't Look Back In Anger is a bad song im not that stubborn. Its good. I sometimes like it. Feels early though???? Should be like track 9. Or 1. Hey Now! The first one I dont know? I thinkkkkkkkk its. shit. Truly just gallagher noises. Hate this. Appreciate the lil noisy interstitial into their best song. Some Might Say is just very good. It fits his grotty voice really well and im not a skilled guitar appreciator but I like what's going on there. Hm idk if its just how the songs are ordered but i'm getting used to his voice a bit. A BIT. like im not desperate to turn it off. Cast No Shadow boring as hell tho. Okay no the voice is back on she's electric. Ah it does bang. Another interstitial wouldn't have hurt its very loud after cast no shadow which is boring as hell. Oh im raising an eyebrow at morning glory this could be interesting...... or not. Ooh its just on the cusp of really doing something. I think that might me how i feel about the whole enterprise. There's a reason they're #1 British bloke band among a fucklot of British bloke bands like they.. aren't shit. They know what they're on with. It's just not quite pretentious enough for me ig. Oh i forgot about champagne supernova. Kind of undeniable as an album closer... it is 90 seconds too long. 60 seconds too long. 30 seconds too long. 10 seconds too long. Okay its perfect. I dont love it. I can't particularly stand it. But it is flawless. I think im being very big and brave here. I just can't rate this objectively. I was expecting yknow.. now that's what I call pub songs and it IS but its greater than the sum of its parts.... if I didn't already know half the songs it would almost definitely have blurred into one in places. But I do and I can tell them apart and it makes for a generally well put together album that could have come out yesterday and still made waves. Id have switched up the track order in a couple of places.. dont look back in anger gets lost somehow. And just get rid of hey now. But uh yeah. I kinda get it. I could be about to do something obscene. Sorry Robbie Williams. Sorry me.

4 sighhhh. i hate to say it's good. faves: roll with it, champagne supernova, she's electric

Very close to a 5 for me, one of my favorite albums!

Debates rage about the best Oasis album but this is right up there with their debut, swapping a more polished, grander production for their initial rawness. I think it works as you get more light and shade here and a pretty good collection of songs with only the odd low spot.

Some interesting songs. Nothing overly inspiring but some good stuff 4.0

This is as good as populist rock can be. The multiple first-rate songs and overall impact suggest why/how these lads got so overrated so fast and have remained so for so long. The songs do suffer a touch for being derivative, albeit quite transparently so. And they remain better than blur. "Champagne Supernova" is borderline self-parodying but somehow remains one of the top songs of the '90s. This is way better than anything Blur ever did.

Good album. Not heard it for years!

83/100. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis is a great Britpop/rock record, packed with some of their biggest and most iconic hits. The standout for me is "Don’t Look Back in Anger," a song that truly defines the album’s impact. While this is undoubtedly a classic, I still prefer their debut, Definitely Maybe, by a significant margin. Nonetheless, a fantastic and era-defining record.

Nota: 7,2/10

8/10 mencanta, el millor album de oasis

It is a truth universally acknowledged that every woman has an ex that ruined Wonderwall for them. Also, Red Wine Supernova > Champaign Supernova.

Best song- Cast No Shadow

A couple fantastic songs that were unavoidable for years, and are to me emblematic of how this style of music can convey feelings. But the rest feel kinda bland.

There's a reason we're still taking about Oasis today, and this album is it. Bangers all over this thing, great sounding album.

Why is this album considered a landmark in British indie rock? Because everyone and their mum was playing it. On my first listen, through my rose-colored Lennon Windsors, I had to stop myself from hitting repeat on Wonderwall. I desperately wanted to love every song, hoping each play would reveal the b-sides’ personalities, but they all turned out to be the same person. The Swamp Songs serve as palette cleansers, and the first half of the album is the most memorable. There’s no doubt that Champagne Supernova reigns supreme among the best album closers. In the end, I’m more fascinated by Britpop’s grudge against grunge — and I've now walked away with a playlist stacked with names like Pulp and Suede.

I feel like I dont really have much to say about it. It has some of the biggest hits ever on it. But all the other songs blur together into this pulp of the same guitar sounds, same vocals and tonality, it all starts to fade into the background at some point. The first half of this album is really strong and thanks to wonderwall breaks out of the monotony that the second half suffers from. Cut it in half and you'd have a perfect album on its own. My favorite song is definitely Hey now! thanks to its surprising grunge sound! Overall its easy to listen to but its missing a strong character. Just like the life of an average working class citizen, which this music gets associated with -plain and simple.

Alright, I love to meme about 'Wonderwall', but this album is much more profoundly beautiful than I thought the 'basic guitar song every guitarist knows' album would sound like. Shredding guitars and melancholic vocals. I dig it.

It’s really good. So many hits. Holds up well.

I enjoyed it

I only ever knew that one song; this was a revelation!

4- I'm not even a huge oasis fan but this album has some bangers icl

all levels up, classic oasis

I always liked Liams singing on Wonderwall because it's so direct and raw. But then hearing the same singing throughout the whole album looks like he's too afraid to show his feelings. Wonderwall and Don't look back in anger (the ending!!) are genius tracks. Also Champagne Supernova (which I didn't know) is marvellous. The rest - only meh. Would have liked to hear more of that swamp song though!

Songs: Don't Look Back in Anger, She's Electric, Champagne Supernova

No matter how hard I try to listen to this album like it's the first time, it's difficult to be objective on this one, . I owned this album when I was 10, and it was one of the first albums I remember actually playing all the way through instead of just skipping around to the singles. I think there were like five singles from this album, so I guess I would have listened to 1/2 of it either way. This album list has given me The Boo Radleys, Supergrass, and Primal Scream already - all helpful bits of brit-pop context that I didn't have when I was 10, not that I would have cared back then anyway. Comparatively, this album feels much more focused than any of those. Not dripping with psychedelic-era nostalgia like The Boo Radleys, more mature than Supergrass, and no electronic experimentation like Primal Scream. This album feels like it was aimed squarely at the 'pop' end of “brit-pop”, and it hit so hard that the whole genre died in its wake. I'm impressed by the same thing I was impressed by as a kid - most of the album tracks feel like they could be singles if they were on weaker albums. As I mentioned, I wasn't a kid who spent much time sitting through albums and this one managed to keep my attention back then. The little "Wonderwall" teaser at the beginning of "Hello" was a great way to start the album, and really foreshadowed how much that song would loom over the rest of their careers (ironic that there's a song called "Cast No Shadow" here too). If I have to pick a low point, I’m going with “She’s Electric”, which I’ve never cared for. Something about the vocal performance triggers the same response as Ringo singing on a Beatles song. A fun revisit, and certainly important to my musical development, but not one I'm going to add back to my normal rotation.

I don't want to like this, but the songwriting and melodies are too good to rate this lowly. 4.0/5.0: Great

Good mindless fun and a great singalong. Noel Gallagher will always primarily be the Inspiral Carpets' roadie to me, though.

My second Oasis album, and this one was packed with their hits. They definitely had a powerful, unique sound- mixing alt rock with pop, and pushing the boundaries on what pop music could be. Overall- very good album

Oasis seem to get a lot of (undeserved) hate from Serious Music Listeners™. In reality, however, they made a lot of really great songs. Layers upon layers of guitars that create a massive wall of sound, and they play it loud as hell too. This is their best album, in my opinion, with plenty of goods to chew on and a few more to be discovered upon further listens. I don't get the point of the Swamp Song excerpts, though. Key track: Roll With It Wonderwall Don't Look Back in Anger Some Might Say Champagne Supernova

Great album!!!

I had U2 followed immediately by Oasis. It felt like nothing changed.

A signature of the 90s. Not a throw away song on it. Love the production value and the new sound that songs like Wonderwall brought to us. A bit poppy for my taste.

Often listed as one of the top 100 of all time, this record is packed with classics. But it's the tracks that are just okay in my opinion that keeps it off my top 100. For my ear, their vocals get a little annoying and whiney.

This album is probably both overrated and overhated. Some absolute classics (Champagne Supernova), and the rest is pretty good.

Overproduced but good

8/10 A huge album for me when it came out. But it's always been one tainted slightly with disappointment. Wonderwall, Don't Look Back, and especially Some Might Say are obviously great, but equally Roll With It, Hey Now and What's the Story are all a bit rubbish. And ultimately it was the last hurrah for Oasis, after only 1.5 good albums, before the rot set in.

Didn’t understand the Oasis hype after listening to Definitely Maybe. I understand it now.

Classic album, and perfectly timed with the current reunion tour!

Glorious rock and roll in that pouty, ladish style and wanker attitude. Love it

you can say a lot of things about noel gallagher, but this album has 3 incredible tracks that are each worth a whole star.

good album, as we all (must) know

A couple duds paired up with some of the greatest songs of all time.

Another album that has been talked about so much, there's not much to say beyond my own experience listening to it for here. I found it to be pretty good overall. Putting aside all the years of criticism and praise is a little difficult at this point, but I found it to be an enjoyable listen. There were some really good tracks on there. A few weren't so good. But as a whole I'd say the album was pretty solid. The music kept me engaged, the vocals were powerful enough, and the songs had variety and range to keep things interesting. My favorite tracks were Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova, both tracks I'd heard before and have enjoyed for a while. I thought the worst song was She's Electric, which was a new one for me. I'd say this was much more good than bad. I don't think it's a masterpiece, but I do think it was a pretty good album. I enjoyed it more than plenty of others I've heard on here, and I could see myself listening to it again. Overall: 3.75/5

Just a solid album. Interesting and cheerful songs. Lyrics that make you wonder if there’s a deeper meaning.

Nice touch with the sounds of sloshing water (perhaps is the Oasis? Lolololol). Pretty good album and very fitting that they happen to be touring again. Classics from my childhood, easy listening and catchy tunes. The Champaign supernova is in the sky ☁️☁️☁️

A fine example of how to do Brit pop. Oasis really knocked it out of the park. 3 legendary hits here, and the deeper cuts are also decent. If Live Forever was on here I could almost give this a 5. This kind of reminds me of Ten by Pearl Jam, in the context of a band having most of their hits from 1 single album.

Listened while walking my dog. I was in a funk mood because of a rude interaction I had with a customer service rep. The music and the walk helped me get out of that feeling. The music was very light-hearted actually, I think I would need to listen to the album more times to get the full story behind some of the lyrics but i actually really liked a couple songs, some might say and hello were ones that stood out. I haven’t listened to everything but so far I like what I’ve heard and what I’m hearing.

Super solid record with some absolute classics on it.

(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?. “Some Might Say” принесла гурту перший британський «номер один», а “Don’t Look Back in Anger” перетворилася на один з тих гімнів, які люди співають разом на стадіонах. Пісню, присвячену Richard Ashcroft з The Verve.

Back in Anger duas dessas.

i think i just like rock or whatever this genre is LOL love the distortion on the guitar i think the singing and the songs at the start of the album are a bit meh but vibes wonderwall is iconic, i dont think i really care for the original that much tho?? love the cello/strings in it tho hahaha, never heard those before don't look back in anger is iconic in his voice tho (mostly just the chorus tho) the instrument at the start of The Swamp Song V1 is really funny the rest of the album is kinda too same-same-nothing-burgery for me

The Good: A glorious morning! The Bad: Ruined by a bunch of screamin’ The Ugly: The fight that ensued when the singer was asked to STFU… Damn… Fucking Oasis… and their catchy tunes… Based on the comments I’ve been reading, most people on this journey were in their teenage years during the ‘90s, and they all agree that this album is nostalgic for them. Well, I was not in my teenage years during the ‘90s, but I too find this album dripping with nostalgia, and making me wish I could relive those lovely carefree days of enjoying a 4-day weekend every week—it’s good to be a college student back then—buying cheap ass beer, hitting on anything that was willing to give you a smile, and not looking back in anger… damnit, there I went and did what I wasn’t going to do. What I did not know, until reading the wiki page, is that the original drummer of the band was fired at the start of recording this album… and here I was, all the time thinking, the drumming is annoying with those fucking fills all the time… Guess I am more of a Ringo kinda chap, as was the original drummer. Anyway, I was not an Oasis fan in the ‘90s, but obviously there were tunes one could not escape from back then, and several of them are found on this here album, meriting the 4* I am going to shell out. Also, FYI, I went and listened to their debut album after listening to this one twice, and I gave Definitely Maybe 4* as well… If they wouldn’t be so arrogant, I might even shell out a 5*...

album opens with a wonderwall jumpscare which is pretty crazy. really liked Hello & Roll With It. i have heard Wonderwall way too much to really enjoy it but i get why its popular. i have to wonder if they knew it would be that popular as it opens the album without even being the opener of the album.

Standouts Hello Wonderwall Don't Look Back in Anger Champagne Supernova

it's the album come on

Cheesy lyrics, but gosh the hooks are effective. Won't pull this out usually if I want to listen to music, but a karaoke night? Heck yes

You won't find me saying a bad word about this album, it's too iconic.

Cool college radio girl vibes! Needs an iced tea! Love all tracks!

Peak Oasis. The sound of my teens, the best Beatles cover band of all time?

The album is a high quality cheeseburger. It may not be intellectually stimulating or high class but I'm not going to pretend I didn't enjoy it all the same

Better than Coldplay

this album is really good. I never liked oasis (I guess I didn’t care about them) when they were new. It’s so Brit pop. “Don’t look back in anger” is the best oasis song.

It was... Hm, better and worse than expected, but at the end of the day I REALLY enjoyed it so hey, why not give another 4, who cares.

Nostalgia is a hell of a thing.

Second best album Oasis ever released

Obviously a super classic love champagne supernova

I was in the fence about 3 vs 4, but why not give the benefit of doubt? Brit pop is not my jam, but I was surprised by several tracks on this album and it certainly was influential.

This album came out when I was about 13 years old and coincided with the Beatles anthology documentary on TV and their three anthology compilation albums. You can definitely hear the heavy Beatles influence here, which as a kid I absolutely loved. I felt like I had some kind of insider info because I recognized Imagine in Don’t Look Back In Anger 😂 Back then there wasn’t an unlimited supply of music to listen to. You either listened to the radio or whatever CDs you were able to buy or borrow. There were CDs I knew inside and out and this was one of them, along with The Cranberries, Green Day, and Enya 😂 Music was more of a commodity then. CDs were special and for kids hard to come by. All that being said, I definitely loved What’s The Story Morning Glory. It held a special place in the heart of the impressionable teen that I was and it is certainly nice to revisit every now and then. I wish I could listen to it again as a kid, because it doesn’t feel as special now. I guess nothing does. Anyway, four stars, mostly for nostalgia’s sake.

Very catchy, singable songs. Hard for me to take “Wonderwall” seriously, but that’s not really the fault of the song itself.

pretty goood. i liked it better than the previous oasis album. downloaded 3,4,6,8,9,10 and 12. champagne supernova is my favourite off of the album.

Teetering between a 4 and a 3 and I went down because I don't want to like this. Gallagher's are cunts, their fans are cunts, but this is pretty much the only Oasis record that actually backs up the hype - there's a lot of bangers here. I particularly love the title track and Cast No Shadow. *Amended this post Definitely Maybe because that is a 3 and this is better.

realmente tiene temazos

Great album, don't think I listened to this at all when it first came out. Really enjoyed it though.

Excellent album. So many good songs. I remember when the album first came, out my cousin bought it and then I stole it from him and it didn't leave my discman for months. He ended up having to buy another copy because he thought he'd lost it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They're certainly an enjoyable band, but I've never really gotten the level of praise they seem to get. I certainly was not going feral for the reunion tour. 7.5/10 Favorite song: Champagne Supernova

This was fun to listen to again. It’s another album that I played a bunch when it came out, but haven’t listened to in a long time. Don’t Look Back In Anger was my favorite song back then, and still is. I’d give it 4 1/2 stars, but I’ll do four as i think there are some filler songs.

it’s good-ish. some songs on here are much better than others but some are just kinda forgettable. it’s not good enough for me to give it a 4, but not meh enough for me to give it a 3 (this website rlly should add half star options huh), but since i think it’s more good than meh, it’s getting a 4

SAVE ME

Got a Gallagher-shaped soft spot

Great album with some classics

To start, I was never an Oasis fan, but this album makes a great singalong with catchy hooks. But Everytime a song starts it sounds like it could be almost any other song on the album. While I knew 90% of the album already, I found that the (new to me) “Hello” and “Hey now” had me putting on my best nasal singing voice more than the rest.

Objectively it is a good album. Subjectively it is a great album

Great album. Has all the hits as well

I actually really liked this when it came out and now it is fairly good, although the non-hits have lost a tiny bit of luster. Nevertheless, it is and was a really great album and I know that the lead singer was kind of a controversial character and it created issues with them moving forward. That is too bad but at least they put out this solid entry.

Ah ha. The lads are back with a vengeance. Big bad Oasis. Trying to dunk on me and my takes. Well don’t worry….I’m not gonna doooooooo what everyone thinks I’m gonna doooooo. I’m not gonna freak out man! As you can plainly see - I have been defeated. Beat into submission by the almighty list, this Brit pop simp. Saying Oasis was the most overrated band ever may have been a bad take, but it wasn’t my first bad take and it won’t be the last. It also wasn’t my worst. I thought The Hives were the world’s next great band. I thought Dogpile.com was superior to Google. I thought Belichick was more valuable than Brady etc etc This album is significantly better than “Definitely Maybe”. Much more confident and original. Better instrumentation and varied arrangements. Not leaning on the tropes and British Invasion nostalgia I slammed them for in the debut. It’s still not something I would voluntarily listen to, but I may be ready to hang up my animosity towards Oasis. They aren’t hacks… my b.

Don't Look Back In Anger is up there for best songs of all time.

L'impact de "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" fut colossal et immédiat.

I can't listen to certain tracks on this album because of how much they've been overplayed but I did listen to the ones that haven't. If I was reviewing now I'd probably give it 2stars based on their legacy after the first 2 albums . 22 year old me would've given it 4stars so I'll go with that

A tough one to review as it’s so culturally embedded amongst Brits of my era that it’s difficult to separate the moment from the songs. There are sing along bangers on here, there are some lovely melodies, but also a fair amount of fillers. The production isn’t great, but I think they are trying to replicate the live energy of the band. The lyrics are at times schoolyard awful, and many parts of the album are overly derivative. That said I still kinda like it and it retains a place in my heart for when oasis meant something to my generation, during those moments before they became a pale, repetitive imitation of their former self, and a rock n roll parody

Nice, classic Oasis

Favorites: Don’t Look Back In Anger, Some Might Say, Champagne Supernova As much as the Gallaghers leave a bad taste in my mouth for obvious reasons, this album is incredible. Grandiosity at its purest form, with classic song after classic song.

Always thought of these guys as a knock-off Beatles back in the 90s so I never paid them much mind. At some point I realized that everything is inspired by something and perhaps the only true original art is a cave painting. So... good stuff.

unfortunately i really enjoy music made by men with shitty haircuts. in the gallagher brothers' defense, its not their fault every guitar-playing male manipulator decided to learn wonderwall on acoustic guitar for the sole purpose of terrorizing a captive audience of their potential love interests and unwitting house party guests, so although it isssss overplayed asf and deeply annoying, they could not possibly have foreseen this outcome in 1995 (did i physically recoil when the song came on? of course i did!). some moderate bangers on this one, bonus points for a manchester accent of course because i miss being out there soooooo bad. someday you fiiiiind me caught beneath the landsliiiiiiiiide in a champagne supernova in the skyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I may now hate everything oasis have become and stand for, but hard to deny this is a good album. A few low points but some real highs too.

Very solid. A couple of fillers and the Gary glitter elements have aged poorly of course!

I had a realisation whilst listening to this that I've only heard the original, normal Wonderwall a handful of times. I've heard the memes a million times though.

Minder vals dan verwacht. Beetje Merijn First vibes ;)

Overblown, useless lyrics but such attitude and such killer tunes they do have a glory.

Britpop Mt. Everest

An iconic Brit-pop album with some real bangers on it, and I’m not even talking about “Wonderwall”, the meme it has become. “Don’t look back in anger” is a top 20 90s song for me and “Champagne Supernova” is an amazing send off. Plenty here to like.

Some absolute bangers on here but also some very just average songs, especially on the 2nd half.

some duds amongst the firecrackers... strong overall... a bit annoying after listening to them ten songs in a row... they stay stuck in the same lane... grating punky vocals over Beatle esque progressions... it's ok... i thought i'd like it more...

Iconic music, can see why these guys got famous famous. The whininess of his voice does get a tiny bit annoying... Favourite: She's Electric Least: Morning Glory

I fear this album is filled with bangers, there is a reason it is so popular. Favs: Roll with it, Don’t look back in anger, Hey now!, She’s Electric Least: Some might say Actual score: 4.5 -0.5 for the Gallagher brothers

Takes me back to being 16 and listening to this when it came out. I was more into Blur than Oasis back then but there are a handful of tracks on here (Cast No Shadow, Wondereall, Morning Glory and Some Might Say) that are better then anything from The Great Escape.

Wow, this whole album is great!

I had heard the singles off of this album plenty of times before, and I was obviously well acquainted with the “anyway here’s Wonderwall” meme, so I went into this album expecting the songs I didn’t know to be so miserable that there’s a reason they never got radio play. I was wrong. This album is strong all the way through, and really good overall. I think it really is a case of becoming so popular with some people with strong personalities that it was bound to have detractors. It happens to popular things all the time.

Maybe not the most original band in the world but this album does contain some well crafted pop / rock songs

Love this album, great to revisit!

No misses and still a great listen.

Well I know popular music is all derivative in some way or other...but this album, despite its merits, does seem to be excessively so at times. Nevertheless, it's quite a stirring wall of noise effect - probably emphasised by the rather extreme compression and low dynamic range. Liam Gallagher's vocals are good and mixed right to the front. I'm guessing these were production choices made to make the singles jump out from the radio. And there were several singles from this album released during the media-hyped battle with Blur.

i can ALWAYS get behind irish literature and irish rock

This is the only Oasis record I listen to but I like it

Not really an Oasis fan and was familiar only with the hits from this album. Postcard from the nineties that's a very solid record.

Hello. Some Might Say, Hey Now! This album is a Wonderwall! I’d say, Roll with It.

Still not crazy about Oasis, but most of their best songs are on this album

Damn, Oasis is a good band. The thing I like about this album is that it is so clear and distilled into a vision. It’s not a “kitchen sink” project. Nothing is out of place.

4/5. My style of music. Solid, couple classics

Totally overrated but a couple of great songs

Absolutely wild how many generations hits are on this thing, sometimes lyrically nonsensical but iconic regardless. Side note, strangely mixed. It feels very tinny and almost no midrange. Anyone else feel that? Or just me?

This album is like the Mono Lisa. You go to take it in and expect to be a little underwhelmed, there is so much hype and millions of people lining up to get in front of it - surely it can't be that good. On the outside it doesn't seem so special, and it's easy to walk right by, there is better art in the back of the Louvre. But if the sun hits it just right, it's pretty freaking spectacular.

You know that beatles clip where they say Rango isnt even the best drummer in the Beatles? Thats how I feel about wonderwall. A-Tier alblum, champagne Supernova is S-Tier

4 - Yeah I quite like oasis. Not obsessed, but it's just some nice bangers but nothing to deep

God Wonderwall is annoying. But I don't really think that's Oasis' fault. I want to dislike this album more, but really there are just quite a lot of solid undeniable tunes. As with Definitely Maybe I'm still not a huge fan of the production choices, particularly in relation to the guitars, but overall I think this a more well rounded and diverse album, and deserves a place in the canon. Fave Tracks: Don't Look Back in Anger, Some Might Say 3.8/5

Jagoffs or not. This is a pretty good album. Not near as good as they think it is - but good.

I've always thought these blokes were a bunch of wankers. However....this is good rock and roll album - can't be denied.

I never got super into Oasis, but this album hits really well when the mood strikes, and Champagne Supernova is one of my favorite songs of the 90s.

The most majestic britpop ever got to be. This album should actually get minus points because of the high quality of all the B-sides that were left out of the album ("Acquiesce" is easily a top 5 song in Oasis' whole discography).

This is the album that really put Oasis on the map. Unfortunately, the so called “next Beatles” could never get along long enough to prove it! They definitely left their mark with this album with some amazing hits. Too bad they will only be remembered for their family feuds and not their musical talent.

This was fun to listen to. They really delivered some great tracks, and the staples are absolute titans of music. I enjoyed listening throughout even if I felt like they could have done a bit more to add some variety.

This was a fun listen. I liked the sound and found myself dancing and singing along to songs I’d never heard before but was catching onto. Sometimes the album felt like it was on shuffle because some jumps from song to song were jarring. Not really a game changing album for me but I’d be happy if I walked into a store where it was playing.

Not the best Oasis album, and Liam's voice hurts so bad, but the quality of songwriting shines through

A very solid album throughout, just not quite good enough for me to give it a 5.
