Steely Dan
5/5
An amazing album, it took a little while to grow on me, but it says it is one of my favorites. A really good way to end the week, I feel like all of the songs are a nice mix of upbeat, enjoyable, I love the jazzy overtones. I feel like Steely Dan has a really good way of blending genres together in a way that doesn’t feel schlocky. Five out of five stars.

Peter Gabriel
5/5
Such a solid album, so close between a 4 and a 5. I think I’m going with a 5, I’m intrigued and want to give it another good listen. One of the first outside of Radiohead that makes me want to go for that. The vocals and instruments are so great.

5/5
Very solid album, I would definitely recommend this. It does have a Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett feel, mixed with a little bit of country, a little bit of jazz, very chill dinner music if that makes sense. I thought it was fantastic, I hope to find a more modern version of this type of music as well, if there’s anyone putting out the stuff today. Five stars.

Iron Maiden
5/5
Another banger, I’ve listened before, really appreciate the length and quality. I think around 40 min is best for an LP. 5 out of 5

The White Stripes
4/5
Really, really solid album, love the vast majority of the songs. Forgot how good the white stripes on, but it’s barely short of 5 stars for me. I’m not sure what it’s missing, but it’s right below, the guitar and drums are great.

Buena Vista Social Club
3/5
It’s not something I could listen to regularly, but it is good for what it is. It sounds like a lot of Cuban music I’ve heard, but maybe it’s the originator? It sounds like it was a huge influence on a lot of that music at the time coming to prominence. I respect it for what it is.
The Pogues
4/5
Super interesting, nice to see older Irish folk punk. I’d listen a few times, 4 stars
Common
5/5
Really good beats, definitely enjoyed, listening to it, appreciate the messages of the song. And the throwback to Chappelle show, definitely want to save it on Spotify and listen again.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
The hits are great, you and I is a pretty solid ballad, some of the other songs get a little bit too repetitive for me. I’ll come back to the major songs often on, probably not the album is a hole. Maybe it’s because it’s an older album, Does not quite grab me as much as the others. But still worth a listen.
Jimi Hendrix
5/5
Amazing album, good extermination and mix of rock, blues, jazz and other influences. Added to the mix.
Joy Division
2/5
It was alright, maybe I wasn’t a product of the time. His voice is a bit too monotonous for me, not very inspired riffs, I like a bit more colour to the tracks. 2/5 a few tracks were decent,
N.W.A.
5/5
Really solid album, I could definitely appreciate this one for the time and place. What I understand it’s very influential, first if it’s kind of the time, the beats in the grooves are really catchy. Strong political message, pretty easy to digest, a few small dips. I would say a 4.75 out of five, but I’ll round up.
Alanis Morissette
4/5
Really solid album, didn’t realize it woudl be so rock based. I knew you aughta know and a few other hits but thoroughly enjoyed the whole album overall, I’d give it a listen a few more times.
Jeff Buckley
4/5
Solid album, a lot more diverse than I assumed based off only hearing hallelujah. Loved it. Too bad the guy only had the one album.
Jurassic 5
4/5
Solid band, definitely like a lot of the beats. Ran a bit too long for my taste, but I can see the appeal, I’m thinking 4 to 5. I like stuff with a little bit more melody to it if that’s the right word? But this one’s pretty solid. Listening to it one more time in the car made it grow on me a bit, I’ll leave it at four stars because it’s a bit too long for me.
Brian Eno
2/5
This one is pretty solid. I like it for what it is, I understand the experimental part of it, maybe it’s because I’m not around when it came out? I think it would’ve had more of an impact back in 1981 if I heard it then. Good beats, I appreciate the incorporation of world music, I think this is a one and done for me, though. Two out of five.
OutKast
4/5
I’ve listened to this before, I already knew that it would be a banger. Always love listening to it again, it’s just so catchy. A little bit long, it’s still worth it
Pixies
3/5
I can see it being a predecessor to a lot of grunge, and it seems to be one of the first dynamics albums. It didn’t grip me, the pixies never really have. But I like a few songs!
Stevie Wonder
5/5
This album is awesome, I like it a lot better than the other earlier Stevie Wonder album. I listen to. Feels a little bit more cohesive, more of a groove, less monotonous and repetitive. I’m thinking five out of five.
The Cure
3/5
I need to go back and finish it, didn’t quite get the full-time, but I like the vibe for what it is. A lot of good songs, I’ll give it a relist at some point, not sure if I’ll go back to it all the time though. I think a solid three out of five.
Duke Ellington
5/5
Fantastic album, absolutely love jazz if I don’t listen to it all the time. Duke Ellington is really really good, his group is so tight. It’s a bit long at two hours and 11 minutes, with a lot of those filler talking in between, but I think it was important for me to listen to this.
The Beach Boys
3/5
The album was good for what it was, it didn’t really stand out to me? I like the beach boys vibe, it might make more sense in the context of the music at the time. A lot of the songs are very similar, felt like classic beach/surf music, Pop during the 60s. Three out of five, I don’t think I’ll necessarily go back to it.
Giant Sand
1/5
Honestly, not a fan, not sure why this one was on the list. Given Its the list of 1000 albums you should listen to before you die, I’m gonna give it a one out of five. Not for me.
2/5
I thought it was interesting, very Beatles and Beach boy reminiscent. A lot of Baroque pop, strange that it came out in 1999. Not sure if it was anything that stood out for me, but I thought it was pretty decent. Two out of five seems fair for this list
Prince
4/5
Super solid album, really loved most of it. Glad I finally listened to this song, from the last few I listened to werent my favorites. The hits were pretty amazing on this one, and it’s got a really good flow, might have to give it one more listen often on. Solid 4 to 5 on this one.
Dr. John
3/5
Super weird album, I like it’s for what it was though. Glad I listened to it once, it’s interesting to hear the voodoo psychedelic style, I think three out of five is good.
Sam Cooke
5/5
Love this kind of music, so upbeat and happy sounding. When I get these I love them, I need to find the modern equivalent.
Björk
4/5
Really weird album, I can see where this influenced the singers like Sia, some of them with crazy vocal ranges and artistic styles. Solid four out of five, if I heard it come on I wouldn’t be upset.
Barry Adamson
2/5
It’s a good soundtrack for what it is, honestly not my style. I appreciate the work and everything that went into it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it again? Not sure what makes it different than any other soundtrack. Two out of five.
Beatles
5/5
Amazing album, I’ve listened to it multiple times, five out of five.
The Jam
4/5
I enjoyed this one quite a bit, I could put the album on and listen to it in full. Sounds like a nice intermediate between the Beatles and the police, I’m surprised I never heard of them before. Four at five.
Iron Maiden
5/5
Another banger, I’ve listened before, really appreciate the length and quality. I think around 40 min is best for an LP. 5 out of 5
Michael Jackson
5/5
Amazing album, this is why he’s the r king of pop. 5 out of 5
Khaled
1/5
Listen to about half of it, not my thing. But it’s all right, 1/5
Frank Sinatra
4/5
Love some good Sinatra, his music is almost always amazing to me. I don’t know if this is the definitive album that I would use as an example, but it is very good. I’ll say four out of five for this one.
Sonic Youth
5/5
Really good album, I’m surprised I never heard much more of their stuff before. It’s got me interested in looking more into Sonic Youth, I’ll give it a five out of five.
A Tribe Called Quest
4/5
It was good for what it was, maybe it’s because I listened to the remix version, but it was a bit long for me to keep up with? But I enjoyed it, and appreciate the artistry of it. Solid 4 to 5.
Primal Scream
2/5
Honestly, could barely get through the whole album, I like a few of the songs that had the Rolling Stones feel to it, little mix of psychedelic and rock to it, but a lot of the songs were just not great for me, I’ll give it a two out of five, Not bad enough to be a one, but not good enough for a full too. I don’t think I could recommend it to people.
Nick Drake
3/5
The guitar work is pretty fantastic, same with the rest of the instrumentation. I can appreciate the vocal work for what he did, the bedroom pop style or whatever they call this type of music? Another album that wasn’t necessarily my vibe, but I thought it was pretty cool for what it was, a lot of interesting themes in style mixed into it. I can see where this would influence a lot of Indie musicians going forward, it’s a shame. The guy died so young as well. I think it’s worth three out of five stars.
Love
3/5
This one was pretty good, I can appreciate it for being influential at the time I would assume. It sounds like a lot of what I’ve heard, but maybe that’s because people created their own version of it? Nothing really stands out to me explicitly about any of these tracks, but as a whole, it was an entertaining lesson. I’d give it a three out of five, appreciating it for what it is.
Tears For Fears
5/5
Def a top album for me, the huge songs are huge. Had this one on vinyl and had to hook it up and listen all the way through, I’d argue one of the best of the 80s. Embodies the synths and style of the 80s without the schlock and irony. Easy 5 star. Love the guitars, drums, good bass lines, and the singers voice is pretty remarkable. Going to Listen again soon for sure
Soundgarden
5/5
I think I’ve given out too many 5 stars in the past, but this one is definitely up deserving. Never listened to the whole thing through front to back, but it felt like a greatest hits album. The songs I didn’t know still hit hard, even at over an hour the journey didn’t feel like a slog. The only problem now is trying to find a copy on vinyl. Great riffs, Chris’s voice is amazing, the Robert plant of grunge for sure. Would recommend to anyone.
Goldie
3/5
I didn’t finish the whole two hours but it was enjoyable! I liked the beats, I could see looking more into the discography if I want to get more into drum and bass. The vocals were solid too, I swear I’ve heard this stuff before. It’s not on my regular listening, but if it was it could be five stars.
k.d. lang
Five stars.
The Human League
1/5
Honestly the album has been pretty unlistenable, the beats and voice are so cliche 80s for me it’s not my vibe. I like “dont you want me” but outside of that I really don’t want to listen again. I’ll do a 1 out of 5, with the exception of the one song.
Marvin Gaye
5/5
This album is genuinely a classic, I’m so glad that I listened to it. It’s all the way through. It’s one of those that I can appreciate the influence hat on modern music, while being so smooth, the court progressions are great. Marvin‘s voice is amazing, And the messaging behind each one of the songs is premier. One of the best of all time. Five out of five.
MGMT
3/5
The hits were great, classic songs. I didn’t realize it came out when they did. Overall, as a cohesive album, it was pretty solid, not sure why the whole album is on the list, though, for a debut though it’s fantastic.
Tom Waits
4/5
Very weird album, I think I liked it as a whole. No major tracks stood out to me, but I like the vibe, I think it’s an overall album. It was very solid. It made sense when I looked up later that Primus played a few tracks. I’ll give it a four out of five, but it’s weird because I can’t recommend it to anyone in particular.
Eminem
4/5
Really strong album, the beats and hits are the first thing that stand out. Some of the guitars and bass on applicable songs are actually stand outs, it’s really solid. I’d give it a 5 since it stands out in such a way, really shows that Eminem is one of the best rappers out there
Nirvana
5/5
Nother classic. Weirder than Nevermind, but I appreciate them trying to get back to weirder roots, a bit more raw on both ends. Solid acoustic tracks then heavy in between. The length of the album is perfect too, amazing
Christina Aguilera
3/5
It’s definitely a lot to listen to, and I think it is good for what it is. There are a couple pretty good songs on there, the vibe is pretty good overall, a lot of interesting variety when it comes to the styles of music. Her voice is very whimsical, and I didn’t realize how well Christina could sing, Definitely a solid album overall. I’ll give it a three out of five because it’s not my vibe, but I think it is very well made overall and I can see the influence on a lot of younger female artists, especially.
Sisters Of Mercy
2/5
It was all right, sounded like a lot of the stuff that came in that place in time. I’m not a huge fan of Gothic rock genre personally, but it sounds like a mix of joy division and new wave like human league. Two out of five.
David Bowie
2/5
I was definitely surprised of this one, not as exciting as I hoped, honestly a bit of a letdown. The title track was good, some of the vocal and other tracks like Joe the line of beauty and the beast were pretty decent. The last track was pretty good too, but a lot of it sounds like ambient filler, not what I was hoping for expecting. I’d say two out of five.
Deep Purple
4/5
Really solid live album, love the mix of jazz and blues influences on their music. Solid drum solos, keyboards, didn’t know the singer could hit the falsetto like that so much. It’s not gonna be in the normal rotation but I’d give it another listen if it came on l
Ramblin' Jack Elliott
2/5
It’s not my type of country music, maybe it’s a bit too old for me or something? The San Francisco song was pretty solid, outside of it. I don’t see myself looking back into it in the future. Find guitar work, pretty good lyrics, classic old western feel.
Garbage
4/5
A really cool album I’m surprised I haven’t heard before based off listening to so much grunge and alt rock from the 90s. Really solid album that’s catchy, great drums and vocals.
Sister Sledge
5/5
A really solid disco album I e never heard, and felt the biggest radio hit wasn’t the best song on the album. I actively went through and “liked” every song on here but one or two, and those were still solid tracks. The guitar works and vocals were great, good beats, another amazing Niles Rodger’s project
5/5
Amazing album, I honestly feel dumb for not listening to it all the way through before. Of course I’ve heard nights of Cydonia from guitar hero, even assassin was on one of them before, but never did a deep dice to hear the rest of the album. I’m actually excited to start listening to the rest of their stuff, even if the albums fell off in quality after this one. But this one was a real treat, five stars.
The White Stripes
4/5
Really, really solid album, love the vast majority of the songs. Forgot how good the white stripes on, but it’s barely short of 5 stars for me. I’m not sure what it’s missing, but it’s right below, the guitar and drums are great.
3/5
The album opens with bangers, it’s an amazing start. 3 huge hits, love the way it goes. The rest of the album is still solid, I’d put it in for background music, but it’s not 100% for me. 3 stars on a personal level, but I could see where true fans would love it more
Everything But The Girl
5/5
Loved it, I’m finding more interest in electronic music as this challenge goes on. Love the low key vocals, drum beats and all, lot of the songs are really catchy. I want to add this to my regular listening.
Shivkumar Sharma
2/5
It is enjoyable thought it is, a vibe for music if that’s what you’re looking for. Definitely not something I put on all the time, but if I heard it in your background somewhere, I wouldn’t be upset. I’m sure it’s very influential to music that came out though
Beatles
5/5
Another five star album, absolutely beautiful. A lot of experimentation coming out from a band like this, it was really nice to get to go back and listen to it again. I didn’t care for it for the longest time, but really is beautiful, the transitions, the guitar work on some of the heavier songs, the theme in the Indian influence. I even appreciate the transition from some existential songs to yellow submarine, back to existentialism. Now again, it’s up there with one of my all-time favorites, it wasn’t super high with me before.
Amy Winehouse
5/5
This is what I was looking for in this style, modern Sinatra style music mixes with soul and R&B. Back to Black is too polished for my taste, but this album really has the vibes of what I hoped Amy could do. The instruments, her voice, everything, it’s so easy to listen front to back.
Gram Parsons
4/5
Really solid country album, this is the stuff I’m looking for. What really has a good country feel, raw emotion that isn’t just pop songs liek what is on the radio now. The guitars, duets, and feel seems more genuine on this than a lot of other music I’ve heard.
The Streets
1/5
Honestly hated it, I tried flipping through some of the songs to try and see if there’s something redeemable about any of the track, I didn’t find anything. I found the voice to be annoying, didn’t care for the story too much, overall unlistenable for me.
Sex Pistols
4/5
Classic iconic punk album, first time listening all the way through and I get why it’s so famous. The right mix of melody, attitude, and catchy choruses.
U2
4/5
Really enjoying it so far, moreso than Joshua tree! It feels more flushed out, the drums are a bit better, it feels the band came more into themselves at this point. I like. A lot of what I’ve heard, if it came on I wouldn’t be mad.
Saint Etienne
1/5
Honestly, wasn’t a huge fan of this album, there was one or two tracks I could stand, but I found myself skipping getting a few minutes into some of the tracks. The very last song I enjoyed and looked back at my phone to see what it was, only to see it was half of a different album. I think it’s maybe a little bit too much of a first album, trying to find their sound, and they sound like a band who really came into their own a few years later. Unfortunately, giving this one a one, I don’t think I wanna hear it again.
Aretha Franklin
3/5
I think it’s still a really good album, I definitely enjoy the music, but it’s not something I go to all the time. If I hear it coming on or it’s in the background, I definitely appreciate it, Aretha‘s voice is timeless. Respect is an amazing song, I like the rest of the album, I could see her influence in so many current artists today.
Leftfield
1/5
Honestly, not sure why this album was on this list. I thought it was fine, and enjoyable enough listen in the background, but definitely not anything. I’m coming back to anytime soon. I’m guessing maybe it was revolutionary back when it came out, influenced people? But there’s nothing that stood out for this album that made me want to go back and give it another shot, I’d say one out of five.
The Doors
4/5
Solid four star album, right on the cusp of five. I really love a lot of the songs, but it’s not quite as cohesive as some of the other doors albums I think. Love the vibe, Jim Morrison’s voice, all the instrumentation is fantastic. If I didn’t have 900 more albums to go through, I’m sure this will be right at the top.
3/5
Really weird album but fun! I like a few of the songs on here a bit, others don’t quite hit but it’s something nice for the background. 3 out of 5 sounds fair, it’s got a talking heads feel I think I like.
Led Zeppelin
5/5
Amazing album, all the way through. Dipped down with the very last song a little bit but not enough to stop this from being a solid 5 stars
James Brown
2/5
It was fine. Didn’t know James Brown did more Motown before his big hits, this was showed me more of his Influence, esp seeing how early on he was Doing music. Won’t listen again but didn’t regret it.
Hawkwind
3/5
I listen to the majority of it, but a full live double album is definitely a lot. It’s fun 70s rock, I definitely appreciate it before, surprised. I’ve never heard of this band before now. It’s a good time if you’re in the mood for some cheesy 70s rock, I think a three out of five is better.
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
Definitely enjoy the album, Jimi Hendrix is always a classic. Really amazing tracks, really solid guitar solos, but not quite as solid of an effort as the first two albums. I think it’s a little bit too long, maybe it should’ve been separated into extra tracks? It does feel like there’s a lot of “besides”, but that’s not a bad thing for someone like Hendrix. Four out of five stars is what I would go with, since I’ve given out too many five stars recently.
Radiohead
3/5
I want to give them another listen in the future to hear the words more, but the music is pretty decent itself. Still trying to get into them
Sade
4/5
It’s a pretty solid album! I could see if the vast majority of the songs came on, I would appreciate hearing them on this one. It’s not 100% my style, but I love learning about more artists like this that I would never really listen to before. I think four out of five is good, a few tracks really stood out to me, but the music is a really good beat.
The Beach Boys
3/5
This album was very nice, I enjoyed it for the most part. It was cool to finally listen to it and hear a refreshing take on the beach boys, that was different than their early 60s and 50s surf sound they had going for so long. The hits are amazing, the rest of the album is good but a little bit too experimental for me personally. I think three out of five is good, not something I would go out out of my way for again, but I liked it for what it was.
Deep Purple
4/5
A really solid heavy album, loved the whole thing. Never knew it had so many old hits on it from the band, it’s nice to hear some of the originators of metal from the day that had so much influence on younger bands coming up, I can hear a lot of bands in this album.
Radiohead
4/5
I think I’m starting to get Radiohead now? Maybe I’m just a fan of This style of Radiohead, more of the mid 90s britpop leanings. It feels like the right blend of melody, dynamics, acoustics and heavy distortion, I was enjoying the vast majority of songs as they appeared. I’m excited to give it more listens, I think it’ll move up to five stars soon.
The Lemonheads
2/5
A fine album, ok for the time. Not sure why it’s in the list, doesn’t sound like anything particularly special. Not awful
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
1/5
Well they can’t all be winners. A double album of this nature is a lot of music, I think I just don’t Vibe with gothic rock if that’s what this is. A lot of the music in this style is not for me. 1 of 5.
Elton John
5/5
I’m conflicted for this one, I really want to give 5 stars as it is brilliant, almost every song is awesome. It feels like a natural follow up to the Rock and roll of the Chuck berry generation, amazing ballads, great vocals and lyrics, but there’s just a few songs that don’t do it for me. They feel like filler. I think I’m inclined to give it 5 as it’s almost there, but this album is great.
The Birthday Party
1/5
Wow this was rough. Not sure the hype around it, I don’t think I vibe with any post punk. It’s too weird and not melodic enough, can’t enjoy the lyrics or vocals, don’t ever plan on listening again
The Slits
2/5
This one was fine, nothing special for me. Interesting vibe and sound, different and sounds like it was pretty influential to a lot of alternative and punk bands after. Not my cup of tea but get why it’s here, I’d say 2 stars
Elton John
3/5
The album is pretty good, didn’t realize Elton went prog for any of his albums. This one had those elements and i can vibe with the whole thing, but the only Standout tracks personally were Tiny Dance, Levon, and goodbye. Enjoyable but not his best, but I’d listen if it was on. 3 stars seems fair
Frank Sinatra
4/5
Absolutely love this one, really love the bossa nova feel with the guitars and everything. Frank Sinatra is an all-time classic, his voice is just sounding. I would recommend anyone, it’s so close to being five star with the quality, but I could sit and listen to any of these all day.
The Temptations
3/5
Really solid album, always loved this genre of music. Anyways excited to hear more of this kind of music, heard a few hits that were fun. Love if this came on at some point on.
Kate Bush
2/5
It was a pretty good album overall, loved the hits. But the rest isn’t something I woudl listen to again, the vibe was a bit to weird for me. But it sounds like Bush is a pretty artsy creator, just maybe not totally for me. 2.5 feels right
Baaba Maal
1/5
Really not my vibe, I do like a lot of the guitar work, but I can’t see myself listening to this anytime again. Just a little bit too much for me to deal with, one star.
Beck
3/5
I like it a bit, the whole album is a solid vibe. Could put this on and enjoy it if wanted, overall a solid pick. No major tracks stood out but I added a few to my playlist
Meat Loaf
4/5
A really solid album overall
T. Rex
5/5
Love this one, really great album even with the extra B sides all the way through. I love hearing some of these that are the evolution of the classic Rockin roll, some folk, a lot of different styles done well. One of my fav discoveries on this list so far, 5 star.
John Martyn
3/5
A pretty solid album, definitely enjoyed some of the more acoustic tracks and appreciated the experimentation on the other ones. I’m pretty curious to check on more of this kind of stuff, there’s something different about the singer songwriter in the 1970s to me with their acoustic guitars and everything. I think solid three out of five is sufficient.
Talvin Singh
2/5
I tried, I really do appreciate a lot of the good beats, but I really don’t see myself coming back to this. It’s interesting to hear in the mix of all the different world sounds, the Indian influence, and I can’t appreciate this type of music in the right context, but not really what I was looking for in this list. I’ll give it a two out of five because it is interesting, I can see where it would fit in if it’s the first of its kind, just not for me.
Yes
5/5
I love this album, only knew of Roundabout and Owner of a lonely heart and I generally enjoy classic Prog. These guys feels like a solid precursor to Rush, dream theater and a lot of other prog in this same vein. It’s pretty cool to see the evolution over decades and where some it came from. Enough pop and melody to stay interesting without sacrificing the experimentation.
Run-D.M.C.
3/5
This one is pretty fun, I like it for what it is! Nothing I’ll put in a regular rotation but it’s a cool vibe. 3 of five is good for me, I can see where it’s influential to a lot of the newer music. Loved the hits.
Paul McCartney
2/5
Maybe I’m amazed is one of my favorite songs ever, and there’s a few tracks here and there that are decent, but I don’t think this is an album I would revisit. The vibe is alright, maybe it’s because it’s older lofi, but jt does feel like a demo tape more than anything. Like maybe it wasn’t even meant to be released? I don’t think I quite get what it’s going for, but it’s not unlistenable. I’d say 2, I’m glad I heard it.
Bruce Springsteen
5/5
At first, I felt like I didn’t really understand a lot of the hype around Bruce, but I finally listened to this album all the way through. It really is a masterpiece, definitely one of my top surprises from this project. Every song is enjoyable, I feel like I could just sit and listen all the way through. There’s no way it’s coincidence that it came on my list around the Fourth of July either. Five stars easily.
Jefferson Airplane
3/5
Pretty solid album overall, I love the vibe. I feel like I could put it on and listen to it all the way, of course the singles are amazing. I think this is probably a three out of five pretty close to a four. There’s a lot of albums to go through.
Fiona Apple
5/5
Really solid album, I’ve been looking for more pop music I this vein tbh. Kinda feels like Amy wine house, Billie Eilish in a way. Just vibing music I can sit and listen to for a day, and hearing her albums get better from there is a nice sound. I think this is a low 5, I love it and could put it on just to vibe to. The music, her voice is phenomenal.
Sheryl Crow
1/5
I liked the last two songs on the album, the rest of it was very generic pop country to me. Little bit of rock influence, but even with seeing the influence she had, it didn’t feel like anything special to me. Honestly hard to give this more than a two, leaning towards a one, just not for me.
Dolly Parton
4/5
Beautiful album, the lyrics and everything were so nice. Great voice, I love the balance of all the instruments as well. Would recommend, and I’m looking more into her discography now as well.
Eels
2/5
It’s a fine Album, I liked a few songs, recognized the one from shrek. But the rest were kind of meh, didn’t regret listening. The vibe was alright, I’m between a 2 and a 3 for this
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
4/5
4 stars, I like the vibe overall. I woudl enjoy if it’s on, and a few songs stood out to me as classics. I can see where it influenced the generations after, the melodies and all are great. Some good guitar and bass work
Hüsker Dü
3/5
Pretty solid album overall, a bit long for my taste. I know it was released as a double album, but I did find myself getting somewhat tired of the material towards the end. I could see this being a predecessor to some of the 90s punk bands, especially early Green Day, which I appreciated. I want to do a further deep dive into this band when I get more time, Hear more of where their sound comes from. But I think this album is a three out of five, the tracks, I think would be more enjoyable on their own rather than for an hour back to back.
Steely Dan
ZZ Top
4/5
So many good hits. This album is a vibe overall though, I’ve heard it before and still love it. A lot more bass than I remember, it’s a groove. Enough silliness to be fun. Solid 4, not in the regular rotation but these guys are still amazing.
Emmylou Harris
3/5
I enjoy the album overall, I’m not sure why it’s on the list personally? Like it’s good, but maybe I don’t get the need to put it on. Almost like this. But her voice is great, I love the signer songwriter perspective.
Public Enemy
5/5
Honestly, really solid album all the way through. Really love the energy, the hype, everything that went into this, turns out I actually really love this genre. It was a bit long for me, but I definitely think it was worth listening all the way through.
Roni Size
2/5
This one is fine, I found myself skipping tracks because of the repetitiveness, but I think that’s part of the music. Maybe it’s better in a club setting or whatever, but I couldn’t sit and just listen. It’s not terrible, but not really my vibe, I think 2 of 5 is ok.
Kraftwerk
1/5
That’s a 1 for me, it was ok to listen to, but I really don’t ever want to come back to it. Just not my vibe
Tori Amos
2/5
It was a decent listen, just really not my style.
Pixies
5/5
Really solid album, I’m almost upset I never looked into this one! I didn’t get to finish it but I think this is actually a 5 star. I really love the. 90s alt rock feel.
Peter Gabriel
5/5
I feel like I’m giving out too many five stars on this thing, might have to go back and adjust a few, but I think this one definitely deserves it. I had no idea how awesome this album would be, I knew the song sledgehammer, but almost every song it is a banger. With the great classics of the 80s, Definitely love the music ship and everything involved.
The Youngbloods
3/5
This is a very interesting album, I’d love to revisit it again when I have time. I’ve never heard of these guys before, but I love the 70 psychedelia mixed with country and a few other styles. I wonder why they never really seem to get big?
4/5
Really cool vibe, only knew these guys from their two famous songs which got annoying from overplay. Love the musicality, jazz feel, the whole thing flows really well
Dexys Midnight Runners
2/5
Not my favorite, I’ll give it 2 stars. Maybe it was more of a product of its time but nothing stood out to me. Maybe it gets better as time goes on since this is their debut album but I’ll pass.
Black Sabbath
5/5
Amazing album, I listened to this yesterday just as I heard Ozzie passed, it’s such a shame. Amazing art, it’s wild to think they knew how to be this heavy back in 1970. Inventing the genre, being a bunch of practically 18-year-olds coming up with music like this is amazing. I’m excited to listen to the entire stretch of their catalog, This is an easy, five stars.
The Verve
2/5
I liek the first track, the rest I was waiting for the album to end. Its fine, just not my vibe, the Britpop or whatever you call this genre isn’t my bag, so 2 stars for me
Patti Smith
1/5
I fast forwarded through pretty much every track on this album, that’s gonna be a no for me. One star
Peter Gabriel
3/5
This one was pretty good, I liked it for being enough for being artsy and prog. 3 is fair, wouldn’t put it on too much but wouldn’t mind if I heard it.
Pink Floyd
4/5
I like this one for the most part, but I can see where people call it pretentious. A lot of the album seems to have an excessive amount of contents, even with the story the way it is. I feel like there was a bit of filler that could’ve been trimmed down a bit. The highs are very high, with the amazing singles in comfortably numb and another brick in the wall, and hey you, But everything that’s in between honestly felt like it was getting to be a slog. But worth it overall, I would give it to four out of five.
Pixies
3/5
It was good, enjoyable enough. Found a few songs I like, love the dynamics of this era of music. 3 is good for me
My Bloody Valentine
5/5
Pretty wild, but this is one of my five star pics. Didn’t expect to love the album so much, if you “low points“, but I very thoroughly enjoyed the vibe of it. I feel like it’s easy because you just listen to the music All the way through and appreciate it, than the albums done. Not a lot of music to do that.
Van Halen
5/5
I didn’t ever think I would be saying this, but this album is amazing front to back. I like Van Halen but hearing this album came out, every single track is amazing. almost half classic singles and the non singles are amazing too. Sad I’ve slept on this album for so long
CHVRCHES
5/5
Another 5/5, I’ve heard this one before and was actively seeking it out similar music after hearing this. The whole album is amazing
Paul Simon
3/5
This album was enjoyable enough, I liek the mix of jazz, acoustic, folk and all the other styles. There wasn’t anything that stood too me and I don’t think I’d come back to it but glad I heard it once. 3 is fair.
Deerhunter
3/5
This one is fine, I’m not sure if I’ll add it to my favorites or anything, but it was interesting hearing a recent album like this. I’d say three out of five, I didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t absolutely love it or anything.
Def Leppard
4/5
I like what this album is going for, I do enjoy all most of Def Leppard‘s music. However, it is a little bit too much Def Leppard for me. They’re good in small chunks, I really enjoyed the first half of the album, but it got to be a bit too much at the end. I don’t think it reached the height of thriller or anything like that, but it was an ambitious solid effort. But it was an ambitious solid effort. Four out of five.
Yes
4/5
It came off as a bit pretentious, kind of like The Wall for me. A bit better and less filler, but I enjoy that this album has a bit more groove. Roundabout is classic as always, the latter half of the album is pretty great too. Love the bass and drum work. 4 of 5 is fair
Nanci Griffith
4/5
Four stars. A good album that doesn’t overstay its welcome, a lot of quality musicianship, classic country feel. Could almost be up there with the greats like Dolly.
Sabu
2/5
I liked some of the guitar riffs, but not 100% my vibe. Not something I’m going to revisit
Happy Mondays
3/5
Pretty solid album, I like a good amount of it. A genre I wasn’t aware of, the latter half of the album is pretty good. I think 3 is good, 3.5 if possible.
Talking Heads
3/5
I think I like this album? The vibe overall is good even if the songs didn’t all vibe with me. But overall good.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
A really sad album, you can really heard him dealing with grief. I don’t care for anything else nick cave, but this was a good experience once.
David Ackles
2/5
It’s just fine. Not sure why it’s in the list
Willie Nelson
5/5
Really amazing album, I always forget how many good tracks Willie Nelson Nelson has. A beautiful voice, I forget that he sings a lot of the classic standards, every song is fantastic. Five out of five.
Incubus
5/5
Heard this album quite a few times before, it’s so good. A nice mix of the hits and solid tracks, a good amount of experimentation, weirdness while accessible. A heavy hitter for sure.
The Replacements
2/5
Don’t see the appeal. Tbh I don’t think post punk is my genre, every band in the genre I’ve tried is just ok. 2 of 5, it’s not bad
The Who
3/5
A fine album. I love the Who’s later stuff, Quadrophenoa and Who’s next and all, but their earlier work doesn’t stick as much. Maybe It hit better if you were there. 3 of 5
Otis Redding
4/5
A solid soul cover album, I would t be upset if any of this came on. Really solid covers, surprised by The Rolling Stones cover too. 4 of 5, his voice is amazing.
Maxwell
3/5
It’s good, I enjoy the musical parts of it. It’s too horny for me, and goes on a bit too long. 3 of 5
The 13th Floor Elevators
4/5
This was fun, good 60s psych rock. Def a fan
Fleet Foxes
4/5
Really cool album, I’m surprised I never heard of these guys back when Mumford & Sons and that type of music was big. I really like the genre, I’m excited to listen to the music outside of this album too.
The Damned
5/5
Honestly, one of my favorite fines so far. A new old punk band that I never really give a chance, listening all the way through this album. This is the type of punk music I’m looking for. I already listened to their debut album as well, I love the vocals, catchy melodies, the drumming is fantastic. Five stars.
Coldplay
4/5
Just listen to this one the other day, literally yesterday. It was pretty decent, there’s a few tracks I liked, but they debut album is significantly better. I think three out of five is fair, I love the scientist and clocks.
Janet Jackson
3/5
The first fee tracks are really solid, and I liek the overall vibe. It does overstay a bit for me, the tracks kinda blended together at the end. I’d listen to this more if it was on tho, I’ll say 3 almost 4 stars.
Lorde
4/5
A really solid modern pop album. I definitely liked it a lot, green lights, and a few tracks really stood out to me as classic hits. I almost kick myself for not looking into Lord as much when I was listening to music at the time, but now is a good time to catch up. I think four stars is good.
Holger Czukay
1/5
I really tried to get into this, give it my all and everything. I like the funky grooves of the first track, but halfway into the rest of the tracks, I was waiting for it to be over.
Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
It’s pretty good. I’m sure if I had more context of the music I’d have more of an appreciation. 3 of 5 since I know it had to influence a lot of artists
Ray Charles
3/5
It’s an enjoyable album overall, I really like the vibes. Nothing stands out to me at all, and I don’t think that it’s Rays best work, but maybe it was important at a place in time. Definitely a good stepping stone of some of his music, I think a three out of five is fair.
Massive Attack
4/5
A really solid album, it’s crazy. This is the first of its kind. I love the effort they put into it and even how they basically created an entire genre. Not every track resonates with me 100%, it’s so close to being a five, but it’s a really solid effort that I definitely want to revisit.
The Vines
4/5
I think this is on the higher three, lower four side. It’s really solid effort from an interesting group, I don’t know if it really reaches the peaks, but I was hoping for. The first half of this album is really solid, seems to drag towards the end. But I’m interested in listening to more of the popular songs and give them more of a chance.
Flamin' Groovies
2/5
I think this was a pretty OK rock ‘n’ roll/blues/country style, it really reminded me a lot of the Rolling Stones. Only thing is, I don’t see myself really revisiting this, I didn’t think it sounded much different or memorable enough to revisit. 2 to 3 stars is good.
Janelle Monáe
5/5
Holy shit. This album was awesome. Very epic, love the mix of influences, there’s a lot of older music. I could definitely hear in the mix. Jazz, hip-hop, R&B, prog, I was not aware of Janelle’s game. This was amazing, I’m listening to her other few albums. She has out now. Absolute five star.
Carole King
5/5
This is such a solid pop album, feels like it’s just hit after head. All of the songs are amazing, I feel like I have too many five star ratings, but this has to be on there.
Kraftwerk
3/5
A pretty good album, definitely better than Audubon was. Three out of five, it’s catchy enough.
Nirvana
5/5
I’ve already heard this before, it’s pretty amazing. Sad, emotional, and interesting choice of songs and coverage to play. But definitely five star album.
Syd Barrett
1/5
Not my cup of tea, feels like off key demo tapes. Not sure why it’s here
Sugar
3/5
A fine 90s rock record. Three stars. Wouldn’t go out of my way for it but I’ll listen if it’s on
3/5
This album is pretty solid, it’s so close to getting a four, but I don’t think I can quite get it there. It’s pretty enjoyable, I like some of it, but it doesn’t quite stand with me like some of the other punk classic albums have.
A Tribe Called Quest
5/5
A really solid 90s rap album, probably one of the best. Every track is so good, melodic and solid, surprising for rap form what I’ve heard. I’m conflicted on being 5 stars, but it might be a really strong 4. Id say it’s essential listening
Destiny's Child
2/5
I love the first two songs. The rest of the song on the album pretty much I skip, though unfortunately, I think it’s well-made, music and enjoyable for different crowd, just not for me. I don’t see myself revisiting anytime soon.
Joy Division
3/5
It’s a perfectly fine album, don’t think I like this style of music. There was one song I think I enjoyed off of this? But otherwise, not for me. I think three is fair.
Moby
3/5
It was alright, nothing crazy for me. A few good tracks, but a bit overly long for me. So nothing great but not awful either. I think 3 since it’s listenable.
Tim Buckley
2/5
It’s not a terrible album, but it’s definitely very possible. I don’t ever see my self listen to this one again, but it’s not necessarily offensive or anything. I’m between a two and a one star.
Electric Light Orchestra
3/5
I almost finished this one, got a few more to listen to. It’s a bit too bloated, I think if I listened to one disk then the other it woudl have been better. Best song is Mr Blue Sky for sure, but I enjoyed Birmingham Blues and Turn to Stone. It would be good in the background. I think if it was shorter I woudl have bumped it to four stars.
Calexico
4/5
I’m glad that I gave this one another shot, I think I was in the wrong mindset or something the first time listening to it. It didn’t grab me, I stopped, and now that I’m finally listening through for the review, I actually thoroughly enjoy it. It makes me want to go back at some point and listen to the albums that I gave lower ratings. I think it’s a solid three, so close to being a four.
Keith Jarrett
4/5
A gorgeous peice, the entire hour is fantastic. Not my usual go to but I could sit and listen to it if in the right place.
Manic Street Preachers
3/5
This one is perfectly fine. It feels like inoffensive 90s rock, it’s quite a few of them on this list. It seems like, I wonder if that’s because the creator grew up in that time or something? I think three is good, middle of the road.
Gang Of Four
4/5
I feel this album is what Devo and Talking heads feels like to me. Edgy but straight forward, great bass, really enjoyable. I’m surprised I haven’t heard of these guys before, but I really like them. Excited to get more into them
Joni Mitchell
4/5
This one feels like a solid 4 to 5 star. Similar to Tapestry, lovely 70s soft rock feel where every song sounds intentional. This is my first time listening to her as well, it’s fantastic. The vocals, instrumental and everything plays out great.
Beastie Boys
5/5
On ironically, love every second of this. Maybe it’s cause I’m a white boy, probably the target demographic, but I think this is the biggest development that I’ve enjoyed from this practice. Enjoying all of the 80s and 90s rap that I never really give a chance, it’s also good. The beats are great, the flow, this is all my favorites of all time now.
The Who
5/5
Another amazing album, it’s crazy to get to five star albums, back to back. The best majority of this album has really good singles, a couple underrated songs I believe. Bargain is one of my favorites, but I don’t hear people talking about it. The Who is just one of those bands that has so many good albums.
The Killers
3/5
Honestly a bit disappointed in this one, thought I’d like it more. Love the hits but most of the other tracks are passable, that’s it.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
It’s a solid album but I think CCR is a greatest hits band overall from what I’ve heard. Good stuff, but nothing on the albums you don’t get from the great hits I think. 3 Is fair.
Billy Joel
5/5
Easy 5 star. One of the greats of all time.
Jerry Lee Lewis
4/5
A really cool cover album, hearing the classics like this is why I’m here. Woudl have loved to hear more originals, but this is one of the better live albums for sure.
Stevie Wonder
4/5
Really great album, solid vibes. Loves to hear any Stevie wonder albums pop up. It’s so close to a 5 for me, but it doesn’t stick with me like done of the 5s do but is a good time.
Les Rythmes Digitales
4/5
This one is pretty fun, I can appreciate it for what it is! I’d give a 4 star to it for the beats and some fun melodies, but can’t sit and just listen to it. Maybe in the right setting it could be a 5.
The Teardrop Explodes
2/5
Eh, didn’t feel like anything special. Listenable, but nothing I’d go back to. I’m between a 2 and 3
The Clash
3/5
A fine punk album, nothing really gripped me from the album. Middle of the road for me, maybe I had to be there when it came out, I think 3/5 is good
The Mamas & The Papas
3/5
A fun album, I really thoroughly enjoyed it as a nice, easy listening exercise. The heads are pretty solid, nothing really popped to me, but I would definitely listen again. I think three out of five is good, it’s almost 4.
Leonard Cohen
2/5
I don’t quite get the guy myself, I’m sure there is a crowd for this, but it’s not really for me. I didn’t hate it enough to give it a one, but it’s a low two.
The Last Shadow Puppets
3/5
This one was good. I’d give it a 3 of 5, enjoyable but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this again. But a cool project to hear
King Crimson
5/5
Absolute 5 stars. One of my fave finds on here so far. I think they’re better than Pink Floyd and other contemporaries, I’m so excited to listen to more of their stuff from here on out
David Bowie
4/5
Probably my favorite Bowie album so far, I liked it for the most part. Enough melody and hooks, a little bit experimental, but not too far, it was pretty palatable. The hits are amazing as always.
Bob Dylan
4/5
This one is hard too. Feels a lot like hunky dory to me, even closer to 5 star. It’s barely not palatable enough for me, it the tracks are pretty catchy and it could almost be a 5.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
4/5
A really solid album, there’s been some really solid bangers back to back on here. I think this is another one between 4 and 5, im conflicted on where to put it. The tracks are amazing, and I really like the acoustic tracks too. I’m surprised I haven’t heard these back when it came out
Ramones
5/5
I think it’s a 5. A few tracks right after Blitzkreig bop aren’t amazing, but then the rest of the album flows so well. It’s good enough, I get how influential this album was. Poppy enough, punchy, great simple guitars. Love it
The xx
5/5
Another 5 star for me. This one is a whole vibe, I love the sound it’s going for. A beautiful melancholy, it’s a subtle sound that really hits emotional and I’m not a huge fan of electronic. Music. I think it tows the line so well all the way through.
Morrissey
3/5
I really like some of the songs, the other half are passable, I feel a low 4 high 3. It really surprised me, a good amount of the music I didn’t expect to like, but it feels like a modern Sinatra in certain ways
Queen
5/5
Five stars, I think it’d prob the only fill queen album worth it all the way through. Guitars rip, vocals are solid, the hits really hit. An enjoyable experience
ABBA
1/5
Not my vibe. I like some abba but this ain’t it. I’m torn between a 1 and 2, I don’t really wanna hear any of this again
The Go-Go's
4/5
This one is great, solid 4. So many bops, really good upbeat pop music, their voices are great too. Reminds me of CHVRCHES a bit, like a new wave predecessor
Talking Heads
4/5
I guess I’m kind of a fan now of Talking heads. I’ve had 2 albums so far, but they never stuck with me. Now I see the appeal, this album has a lot of the funk and rhythm I was missing from some of the other albums. Solid 4, almost a 5 outside a few passable tracks.
The Specials
2/5
Meh, just waiting for this album to be over. Not the worse I’ve heard, some of it is catchy, but def won’t listen to again. I’m stuck between a 1 and 2.
Peter Gabriel
5/5
Such a solid album, so close between a 4 and a 5. I think I’m going with a 5, I’m intrigued and want to give it another good listen. One of the first outside of Radiohead that makes me want to go for that. The vocals and instruments are so great.
3/5
Pretty solid vibe music, I appreciate it more than some of the other world music I’ve heard. 3 stars is fair, it’s a good vibe
4/5
A pretty solid album, the hits were great! I think k liked most of the acoustic versions on the deluxe edition of the album a lot too. I’d say 4 stars just because of the singles, but it’s between 3 and 4
Fatboy Slim
5/5
Not gonna lie, this one was pretty awesome. Not a huge fan of electronic music as most if it goes on too long, this one was pretty awesome. I don’t wanna give you that to deliberately, but I think this is a five star.
Madonna
3/5
Solid 3, it’s good pop music.
Joni Mitchell
4/5
Really solid album, not something I woudl put on all the time but a solid mix of pop, jazz and the like. It’s always a good time listening to albums in this vein. 4 stars is solid.
The Police
3/5
I love a lot of the Police’s music, but I’m not as big of a fan of some of their more reggae feeling stuff. But still a solid album
Gotan Project
3/5
3 stars, it’s pretty good for what it is
Small Faces
2/5
This one’s pretty weird, honestly not a fan. I feel like they tried to do a interesting concept album, I think it just turned out creepy. Two stars.
Beck
4/5
Pretty solid album, sucks I wasn’t into this growing up. A lot of good songs on here
Mudhoney
3/5
Gil Scott-Heron
4/5
Amazing album. It’s a shame it’s not on Spotify, this is an exciting introduction to Gil Scott Heron for me, I’m excited to hear more from him after this too. Smooth music, intriguing lyrics, it’s crazy to hear this stuff from years ago, a lot of these issues were years ago, some problems seem tog et fixed but others stay the same. Four out of five stars
Coldcut
3/5
It’s a fun listen overall! Same with all the electronic albums, feels a bit too long but I enjoy snippets. 4 stars, I think it will be better if it was all separate songs instead of a whole album.
Radiohead
5/5
Damn good album, the vibe of it is great. I’m between a 4 and 5, j think if push it up because I go back to listen as it intrigues me. I always feel I find something new
Al Green
4/5
Four stars, it’s a really solid album.
Genesis
4/5
Four stars, not the best ever but enjoyable. I liked a lot of the tracks
B.B. King
3/5
Solid 3 stars, a good live album
The Smashing Pumpkins
5/5
I’m stuck between a 4 and 5 on this one, it’s close on the edge. Amazing feel and vibes, love the dream pop shoe gaze
The Band
3/5
Enjoyable music form this era, I can vibe with this. It’s a good mix of old music I haven’t heard outside of the weight. I’d give it a 3.5 if I could, it’s good but I wouldn’t go out of my way for most of it again.
Throwing Muses
3/5
Pretty solid raw emotion on the album, I could dig the vibe. I’d love to listen to more of their stuff. 3 stars
OutKast
4/5
3/5
It’s alright, not an amazing album for me.
Boston
5/5
Hit after hit, this one is so good. Some think it’s annoying but there’s a reason it was everywhere
Radiohead
5/5
This album is so delightfully weird, I can’t explain it. I honestly think that is my favorite of theirs, along with the moon shaped pool, I can’t explain it, but I love it. Five stars.
Sonic Youth
4/5
A pretty solid album, I really liked the first half for sure! Fell off at the weird aspect at the end, but still a low 4 stars.
Portishead
5/5
This one was a great discovery, one of my faves so far. Five stars
TV On The Radio
3/5
Cool solid album. Nothing I’m getting into all the time but appreciate it for what it is, got a few songs I really enjoyed. 3 stars
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
A really cool vibe, this album is great. I don’t see myself listening to it on a whim, but I didn’t realize how much I liked classic reggae, if that’s what you call this. Didn’t recognize any of the songs like the rest of Marley‘s stuff, But it’s a really solid album.
Pavement
3/5
Pretty good, classic 90s rock feel. 3 stars is fire
Supertramp
2/5
It was fine, pretty standard 70s rock. Nothing that really stood out to me, nothing I’ve ever really revisit.
The Temptations
4/5
Feeling 4 stars, it’s a good vibe, didn’t realize these guys went from do wap to this soul vibe, it’s a pretty solid album.
Prefab Sprout
4/5
Really fantastic new discovery, I’m glad I found them through this list. Love the jazz pop mixture, surprised I haven’t heard them before. They’re almost a 5, there’s a few ok tracks that don’t completely hold up for me, but they’re great.
Beatles
5/5
Got to relisten to this yesterday, the elbow I’ve gotten the more of appreciated the track towards the end. Long, long, long, sexy Sadie, honey pie, good night, there’s so many tracks that I didn’t really follow or understand when I was younger. Maybe because it’s the end of a double album? But I really do thoroughly love this album, it deserves to be ranked up there with the best.
Jeru The Damaja
2/5
It was alright, not sure the hype. Hated the piano on the first track
Steely Dan
5/5
Another easy, five stars for me, but I’m a huge Steely Dan fan. Love the mix of jazz and pop, each song paints a beautiful picture for me, it’s just amazing. I think everybody needs to listen to it at least once for the sound quality, even if you’re not a fan of the music itself. Home at last is my favorite underrated track.
Booker T. & The MG's
3/5
Sleater-Kinney
3/5
I liked a few of the songs, the others got kinda of annoying tbh.
Frank Ocean
5/5
I think this is a 5, which is interesting since I didn’t care for Blond when I listened to ot. The jams are great, the musicianship is great. Would recommend.
Kings of Leon
2/5
It’s ok, not bad. Doesn’t belong on the list, but nothing stood out to me. 2 stars
The Rolling Stones
4/5
Really solid tracks, nothing major stands out to me but I could see getting this on vinyl and having it on the background. The whole thing is great, I’d say 4 stars is fair
The Saints
4/5
This is a pleasant surprise on the list, I actually really like this album quite a bit. Some of the more acoustic tracks aren’t exactly my vibe, but the rest of the album is quite a treat. Solid four stars, I love classic punk like this.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
5/5
Absolute 5 star for me, best way to start the weekend. Love these guys it is a long set list, but outside of the closing track, which doesn’t really feel like a closing track, all the songs are really great. I couldn’t see removing any of them.
The Smiths

Solid four stars, another great discovery, a vibe for sure. I like the indie feel, his voice is pretty solid as well
George Michael

Kendrick Lamar

It’s beautiful, I love this album so far. It’s a musically well balanced album, the bars are crazy, the story is great too. Five stars easy, I get why he’s so big.
Pentangle
2/5
It’s fine here and there, liked a few songs towards the beginning. Can’t do a whole album of it tbh, 2 stars is good, feels like middle of the road folk
