Didnt finish
Cool vibes but it got old after listening to the entire album. I know Radiohead is a classic, but I couldn't help but think of Muse while listening to it.
Fuck. Radiohead again. The day is lost.
I want to like Radiohead but for some reason the bass is just overwhelming and everything sounds 30% funkier than it needs to.
Not a big Radiohead fan
2.2 / 5 The very first thing that came to my mind was "okay computer, is this really that good?" - no, it's not. I don't really have a problem with melancholic music, it has its' place. This album however just sounds depressed and reminds me of German indie pop that I'm trying to avoid like it's the plague. To me, this album sounds like they're trying really hard to convey the same emotion in every song, and that's honestly pretty boring. Many songs on here have a strong mainstream vibe to them, it's music for someone who doesn't actually care about music but wants to be seen as someone who does. If Radiohead would've pushed more into Prog-Rock territory it would've been more interesting. But since they didn't, the only thing that remains is the feeling that Muse basically did everything better. You know what I'm actually gonna listen to now? Tapestry by Carole King, even though I don't like Folk music. But that's an album worth listening to.
Eh couldn’t make it through
Generally on the darker side, best for a moping session.
Guess I'm not a Radiohead fan
Didn't hate this as much as other Radiohead, but I still feel they're over rated.
Some decent songes like No surprise or Lucky, but general not that good 2 out of 5
I appreciate , but it didn't move me in 1997 and it doesn't move me now. I am aware that I am one of the few people who feels this way. I cannot pinpoint exactly why I feel this way. I am a prog rock fan and yet the vast majority of Radiohead albums leave me cold. Some of it might have to do with the fact that I loathe the sound of Thom Yorke's lame singing and his lousy lyrical constructs, but usually I can look past that in a band and enjoy the actual music in the instrumental choices and arrangements. On paper I should enjoy this, but in practice, I do not. After nearly 30 years of OK COMPUTER not clicking, I am not holding out hope that it is ever going to happen. As a synth head, I much prefer KID A to this album.
Whiny
I’ve had a few bites of this apple and it’s never taken me before. People hail it as the second coming of Jesus but ihave failed to get into it. For the sake of the exercise, i will try again. There is something a bit same same about this album. Its one long mopey ballad of a song.
I feel like I am the only person in the world that doesn't like Radiohead and I am ok with that
I know everyone cites this as the best album ever but I didn't drink that kool-aid, so I don't get it. Karma Police is the only good song and probably because I've heard it 12,000 times before.
I really wanted to like this album but I didn’t. Two tracks karma police and no surprises were good so I’ll give it a 2
Not really a fan of Radiohead but this was okay
some popular songs, but still not my cuppa
I've never been a crazy Radiohead guy, and despite some fun moments on the album, it never really hooked me like I wanted it to. Certain things I wanted to hear a whole song of, that only appear for moments or short bursts. Not a bad album, and definitely a revolutionary album in sound and you can tell what it inspired but not something I want to comeback to.
I only knew of this album because of the picture of the I84 overpass in Hartford on the cover. The first song was actually kind of interesting and I liked it ok. I was feeling optimistic for the rest of the album when the second song came crashing in, destroying my hopes and dreams. I couldn’t even make it through without skipping to the end. Overall, there were a couple songs I liked, but most of it was just weird and depressing.
This is not what I was expecting before I listened to the album. I’m familiar with Radiohead and recognized Karma Police on the album so I was excited to dig in. The whole thing was very melancholy and I was left feeling like I’d missed something. Not a very good listen.
I don't understand the intense love for Radiohead. Undeniably brilliant say their fans. Revolutionary say the critics. Radiohead wrote two great songs, only one of which is on OK Computer. The rest teeters between fine and kinda bad. This is an insanely overrated album consisting mostly of self indulgent nonsense.
Had another Radiohead album three freaking days ago. FML. I keep thinking, Oh, I might actually like this Radiohead song? And then Thom Yorke starts singing. Listened before? N Saved to library? N Favorite track(s): N/A ⭐⭐: Didn't like it, didn't hate it. Saved no tracks.
De mer fartfyllda låtarna gav albumet mer tryck än "In Rainbows". 2,5 svaga stjärnor.
I don’t get it. 2.4.
Still dont like radiohead sorry.
None of it was nice to listen to unfortunately.
The absolute dread I felt when I saw this pop up should be studied. However, I quite liked “Karma Police” more than I remembered, so it gets a bonus star for that.
I've tried to like Radiohead, and even own this album and a previous one.
Not really my cup of tea. Can hear moments of good music but overall in the minority by saying this was not for me
Well known. But I've not ever been a fan.
I have tried so many times to get onboard the Radiohead train. I just cannot get there. I love other critical darlings but this just isn't for me.
The first 20 seconds of Airbag were good, then Thom Yorke started singing and it was all downhill from there. I wonder if I'd like them with a different front man. Or no front man.
This is a good album, but I can only enjoy it as background music. Im not sure why but this album doesnt grab me like other stuff they do, and I've always wondered why about this one. Maybe I just havent listened to it enough because I definitely enjoy hearing it, just not listening to it. I dont know.
I like Karma Police more then the other Radiohead songs. But over all I liked this album less then the other Radiohead on the list.
What does it say about me for being bored by these guys?
"Okay, so what if we take rock & roll, but make it boring?" - Thom Yorke, probably
Honestly dreaded listening to this one as well. I just don’t enjoy this type of music. I made it through the album though because the point was to listen and have a better understanding of music as a whole. I can appreciate that Radiohead is for particular individuals pallets, but it’s just not mine. It’s a 2 for me.
It was just okay.
Radiohead isn't really for me. I don't like thor personal style in general.
The music is good. The vocals and lyrics are bad. I've never been a fan of Radiohead. I always thought it was just their pretentiousness but after suffering through 53 minutes of whiny vocals singing lyrics that sound like a 12 year old with his first crush wrote them I understand why I dislike them
I feel like with a few more listens it may one day grow on me, but first impression... I don't get it.
I just don’t think I like Radiohead. Their music just seems pretty flat and the same all the way through this album. It’s not bad I guess. Just not good for me.
I don’t get Radiohead hype. I can barely understand what Thom Yorke sings, it’s whiny and warbly and the music is simultaneous boring and trying too hard. Let Down was the one song I enjoyed here.
I just can’t get into Radiohead and really don’t see the appeal. The only thing I liked on this album was the guitar work in Paranoid Android and Electioneering but the depressing lyrics and Thom Yorkes voice and the horrid Fitter Happier just ruined it. The guitar work (what little I could find) saved it from a 1 star.
Very Muse-y (from what I remember). Nothing special but didn't especially dislike it
I've tried Radiohead once more, and once more I haven't connected with them.
Not quite as bad as I remember. Still not my taste.
Thankful that they started listening to aphex twin
Not for me, some songs I listen too again but I found it quite whiny and slow. I think if you like that 90s slow rock sound there is something there but I struggled to get through it.
As Spike Lee once said: not my cup of tea
2,5
can't concentrate on this music, i feel disoriented
I’m only giving this two stars because karma police is a great track. However, listening to 60 Minutes of Thom Yorke’s depressing tone of singing is challenging at best.
This is quite possibly the most overrated album of all time. Minimal hits (one). It's mid Radiohead, which is not bad, but not great. I'm also past the age where I want to hear you whine about your existential crisis.
So I am just young enough that I missed this record the first go around. I know how influential this one was and how much everybody loved it, but I'm not sure that I'm gonna love it. I know that Radiohead is technically way better than Oasis, but the lead singers voice reminds me so much of Oasis it is almost distracting. The instrumentation however, is not distracting...but very good, even though I don't think this is necessarily my style. The first two songs are a lot louder than what comes after, and I find it as whiny (eee) as I found the first Morrissey album. Which is saying something.
I think this was noticeably better than Kid A
Sometimes kind of REMish, but the slower parts are less catchy and the fast parts are more frantic.
Just not a fan of their music
Ok but a bit dreary at times.
Ok … werden keine Lieblingssongs
It gets a two because I quite like Karma Police and No Surprises but overall I prefer the 70s long haired flare wearing variant of posho prog types. Thom Yorke's voice thoroughly rips my knitting.
I think this is the 4th or 5th time I have tried to listen to and appreciate this album, and my efforts have failed miserably on every attempt. It isn't at all enjoyable to me and there is nothing I hear that I connect with or find interesting. You know how there is a gene that some people have that makes cilantro taste like soap so no matter what they just don't enjoy it. I think I have a gene that makes OK Computer taste like soap...
Tjs la même chose finalement...
The hits didn’t save this album. Could have skipped a couple songs.
Slow and sad. Frustration and angst. Dragging vocals!
2.5
Sorry just not a fan.
Having now listened to three of Radiohead's albums and supposedly one of their best, I now feel no remorse in saying that they are the most overrated band of all time. This album in particular is quite possibly the most overrated album I've ever had the misfortune to listen to. I just do not see what people hear in this or the band. The music is all over the place, which I get is a statement they are trying to make, but that doesn't make it pleasant to listen to. The lyrics are meh I guess, I wouldn't really know cause I have no idea what Yorke is trying to say. Thom Yorke should not be allowed near a microphone. The dude CAN NOT SING. It is painful in the extreme to listen to him. If someone can explain the vision to me then great, maybe my mind will change, but all anyone ever says is "this is one of the greatest albums of all time" but nobody can tell me WHY. It certainly isn't because of the vocals, and the musical arrangements don't seem particularly special either. SO WHAT GIVES WHY IS THIS SO HYPED UP? Don't believe the hype people this trash is not worth it.
I stand by my previous assessment that Radiohead is tiring.
Some classic singles but not my bag
I don't get Radiohead. I really don't. It makes me feel nearly nothing
👎🏻
I get why people like it, but it's not for me
Not my thing, but I respect it
24/02/25 Honestly don't understand the hype with Radiohead. This was so bloody boring.
Not really up my street, but I can respect what they've done for music.
Kinda liked Electioneering. Did not like the rest of it. Thom's vocals are just too whiny, droning and unintelligible for me.
OK
I've never been one to care for Radiohead, and after listening to OK Computer, I still don't care for them at all. Despite all the hype and critical acclaim, this album just didn't move me in any way. I could have gone my whole life without ever hearing it, and honestly, I would have been perfectly okay with that To give credit where it's due, there are a few elements in OK Computer that even I can acknowledge. The production is undeniably polished, with an intricate mix of ambient sounds, experimental electronics, and layered guitars that some listeners might find innovative. A couple of tracks feature interesting arrangements that showcase a high level of studio craftsmanship, and there are moments where the atmospheric soundscapes do manage to create a distinctive mood. For me, however, the negatives far outweigh any fleeting positives. The vocals simply don't do it for me—Thom Yorke's delivery feels monotonous and unengaging, lacking the passion or connection that I look for in music. The overall sound of the album is overproduced and, frankly, too calculated, which strips away any genuine emotion or spontaneity. I found the entire record to be a convoluted, self-indulgent mess that doesn't evoke any real feeling or thought. Furthermore, despite its reputation as a groundbreaking work, OK Computer fails to resonate with me on a personal level. The experimental elements feel more like a distraction than an enhancement, and the themes and lyrics don't connect in a way that matters to me. The album's supposed complexity only serves to make it seem pretentious, and I'm left wondering why so many people hold it in such high regard when, for me, it’s simply not worth the time. In the end, OK Computer is an album I could live entirely without. It doesn't move me, inspire me, or even engage me—it's just another over-hyped collection of sounds that falls flat. For someone who never cared for Radiohead to begin with, this album is a prime example of why I remain indifferent. A disappointing 1.9/5 stars from me.
Not the worst of Radiohead but apart from a song or two, I could not wait to reach the end of the album! His voice is irritating me !
I was bored. Karma Police is a good song, I wouldn't listen to the rest of the album again.
* I do have affinity with the sentiments and messages in the lyrics, but musically I feel the album is enormously overrated. No Surprises is best track for me.
Always thought that Radiohead are overrated, but it's good to come back to stuff I don't like every now and again to see if my tastes change. It's what got me into death metal, after all. Yeah nah it's still shite
Didn't find this QUITE as annoying as other Radiohead albums I've listened to. I even found a few interesting moments here and there. That being said, it's still boring and pretentious.
meh - few good hits but nothing to shout about
Not with the hype! Not a fan of Radiohead.
I'm biased. Fuck this band.
Not a fan
Not my kind of sound
I don't get the hype around this album, it feels way too "raw" for my taste and is mostly uninteresting. Yorke is carrying with his voice though. Favorite song: The Tourist
Not for me
I almost like No Surprises
I have tried to get into Radiohead a few times. They’re another band that I feel like I should like, but I only end up liking a few songs. This album is no different.
the music is fine but the singer sounds so whiny to me, im always glad it's over after the last song and not a single one sticks with me. I couldn't remember more than a single lyric from any of the songs, so forgettable.
Besides Climbing Up the Walls, a pass
This is so, so, so boring.
I don't really get the appeal of Radiohead.
Ok album just couldn’t really get into it
I admit I may have missed the boat on this one but can’t get into it now.
The Radiohead popularity bus passed me by other than the overused songs stuck into indie soundtracks at the time. I’ll get the next one. Or walk. Don’t get it.
Man, I tried again, and nope. This isn't awful, by any stretch. But it doesn't connect to me on any type of visceral level. It's a classic 3 for me. Quality music, that does not appeal to me. I would not seek it out, and would only leave it on if there were no other options.
Until Radiohead proves to me they're not overrated, I will continue to not be impressed-Ok, Radiohead? This album sounded like those computer sounds when your computer malfunctions. It's more annoying than enjoyable. Favorite Song: "No Surprises"
Whiny rock
Another day, another album where you can't understand a single word they say. I like Creep by Radiohead, so was looking forward to hearing more by them, but this was a disappointment. I like the guitar work, but the singer is impossible to hear. Best song: The Tourist
Disappointing given I quite liked The Bends. No Surprises the only highlight for me.
Ok I guess
Love the song titles. Music is an acquires taste
It's alright 3/5 Best songs were: Exit Music(For a film) and No surprises
I just don't get Radiohead. I can't get into it.
2.5/5
..
So slow. I can see why people like it though.
No. These guys suck. Boring, whiny. What genre is this anyway? If Rock has an Overrated list, put these spaced-out crooners in the top ten.
I've never been able to appreciate Radiohead in any way. I tried listening to this a little bit but lost interest quickly.
Eh…not my jam
No Surprises, Exit Music preferred songs on this album
Mit kleinen Ausnahmen melodieloser Gesang hinterlegt mit eher experimenteller Klänge ***
Gut
I want to like Radiohead more than I do. There is something about the style that is just too unwavering/consistent/identifiable.
Droning. Whiny. Boring. Really bad. 1.83
Meeh nothing impresssive really
If you like whiny sad depressing tunes, these guys will deliver to your core - if not, meh! Another album and style I don’t get!
Started slow, ended langsam
All the famous songs are whiny pretentious snoozefests. At least a few of the non-hits are good. -1 point for that shitty monologue in the middle. Stand-out: Lucky
Very dreary. Every song sounds the same, and it's pretty sleep-inducing stuff. The only song I'd heard before was "Karma Police", but if you imagine that for an hour you'd have a good idea of this album
OK but not the great album I was expecting. Maybe I’m going off music?
Sounded a lot like cats in heat and a 10 year old learning to play the recorder.
niet mn vibes
This actually started OK (despite the Paranoid Android clearly not being Marvin) and I even thought I would have to rethink my evaluation of Radiohead from an other album (actually the first album I listened to here) but it didn't take long for irritation to start creeping in. I don't really know why Radiohead irritates me so much but they clearly do.
A previous reviewer called it the most over-rated album ever. Not unless 'The Wall' can be unwritten it ain't , but it's definitely a top 5 contender.
Sorry - I just dislike the Radiohead noise - especialy the vocalist.
radiohead's ok computer is definitely of its time with its frequent digital noises and my gosh it's so cringe, as the kids say. but that's not even the beef i have with this album. thom yorke's voice is so WHINY in ok computer. this is what ruined this album for me! i don't know why his voice grates on me here, because in the other three radiohead albums, yorke's voice has not been nearly so awful. the second half of the album either was genuinely better so i didn't focus too much on the vocals, or i became used to said vocals. regardless, the first half set a low bar. the instrumentation, though, came through. "electioneering" had a strong instrumental section, and the song's satirical and political topic helped matters. "no surprises" was surprisingly delicate and showed the range radiohead can utilize.
Bleh.
Just can't listen through a whole album. No surprises is a great song but the album in general is just too dreary
Never really got into Radiohead and this wasn’t any different. I like the song Karma Police, but the rest was just boring.
No thank you.
Previously rated: Amnesiac (1/5) The Bends (2/5) In Rainbows (1/5) Hail To the Thief (1/5) Kid A (1/5) ************************* Are we done with Radiohead yet? A third of the way through the list, and six albums already. This one is right up there with The Bends as not as terrible as the others, but still not good. But it actually has a few good moments, particularly in Paranoid Android and Electioneering. Sadly, those moments don't last long enough or are ruined by the singer incessant whining. I have to say STFU out loud multiple times during every Radiohead album I listen to. I did kind of enjoy the computer theme though.
Am I allowed to call myself an alternative music fan if I don’t really like Radiohead? I’m a lyrics person and I can’t understand what Thom says 99% of the time
taking a 2 stance because this album is the world's biggest 5/10 for me but this site doesn't allow for decimals. I never understood the hype and i don't think i ever will. Made my peace with that.
I think the Album is nice and calming, but tbh for me it is nothing „Special“
it was ok, a bit depressing for my mood. but some good songs
This starts off as a Prog-Rock album. Sure, it's dressed up in a 90's Indie Rock sonic palette. But as with all Prog-Rock, the music seems built up from clever/ interesting technical or harmonic concepts into "songs"; and that leaves the overall experiences unmoving. That starts to shift at Let Down and Karma Police which actually feel like songs that were crafted and then recorded, rather than the other way around. No suprises also feels like a song. But none of them are good enough for me to want to listen to the album.
Thom Yorke's vocal is not my piece of cake. I appreciate the album as a major milestone in music history, but it's the same as acknowledging a boring book in literature program. Other says it was a great release and I have nothing to say.
Seen this album come up this morning... and my first thoughts were "this is going to be depressing." Guess what? It was depressing,!!! The vocalist is a pure pain to listen to. Take the vocals out, imagine someone else singing, and the music isn't bad at times, albeit, they meander on for so long like a stick slowly floating down a stream. These guys are very much middle of the road, but a lot of people rave about them? Go figure? Horses for courses, but this stuff not for me.
Retro rock sound. Too dated for me.
Who gave Oasis valium? This music is slow and depressing, most of the time. I'm neither a moody teenager or a musically, deep thinker. Also, since I'm neither recovering from the death of a loved one or just recently dumped, this kind of music doesn't pass the vibe check.
I don't know how to like Radiohead.
Nothing special.
I wasn’t a fan, I didn’t listen to the album all the way through. The songs I did listen to all felt like vocals were on a different beat pattern to the instruments. Unfortunate but we can’t like everything.
Not my vibe, sorry!
Eh
Just not my thing. Some moments musically were cool and fun guitar/synthesizer (??) moments. But overall couldn’t jam or sing along to any song. No Surprises was the best song.
Meh
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO airbag- and this is music? this thing is an hour long. 5 but its started to piss me off so 4 paranoid android- :(. i like the weird percussion. i hate his voice. homies name is thom. i kind of hate this. 4. ???? subterranean homesick alien- i like this one actually. i do feel like an alien with it. hes saying uptight but i keep thinking hes saying im sorry which to me sounds like a funnier song. 5 exit music for a film- girl we all already know. 6 ig its good but it kind of pisses me off. let down- omg like in the bear. im not sure what to make of this. it like doesnt sound like music. dooooont care. 4 karma police- this better be good. not maths. why are they so british. i feel like ive been here forever. 4 fitter happier- this is an odd me thing but robotic voices like these freak me out a little. ok. 3 electioneering- i almost like this but that like cowbell thing is pissing me off. the guitar as well. i cant describe it well but this son is angering me. 3 climbing up the walls- i hate his voice. 3. stupid ass. i like the percussion ill give it that i like that drum but everything else is kind of asshole. no surprises- cmon dude. i like it but also i cant stand it and it makes me break out into hives. 5 i guess i dont know what to do with this one. i like how the melody sounds like a door bell um i like how the music video has him drowning. or something. i think people take the lyrics too literally but i dont know what i mean by that. id get over it lucky- i dont like this screeching thing. oh god i forgot he sounds like that. my ears started hurting no joke. 2 the tourist- were almost done. boring ass. 2 there was a pimple on my forehead and it was more interesting to pick at it than listen to this album.
Although I appreciate the innovative sound of Radiohead, I find the vocals sound like a whiny Bono. Just not for me.
Ugh. I've never "got" Radiohead. At least this album doesn't have Creep. Some songs are fine, but overall just kinda "bleh" Electioneering is the song I've enjoyed the most, Climbing up the Walls as well.
I don’t which is the best album of all time but I know it’s not this one. It might be the most overrated though. Standard nineties alternative rock. It’s ok but I can’t hear the greatness.
Why does Radiohead hate Creep? It's 20x better than any song on here. I cannot believe that even in 1997 any part of this album was supposed to sound ahead of its time.
I was aware of something called paranoid android, be it track, album or band I didn't know. But I wanted to listen to it. When I saw it on this I was really interested. Musically this album was quite interesting and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was the vocals that really spoilt it. His voice was just so depressing not necessarily the lyrics, but the tone of his voice I found incredibly depressing. Interestingly enough you tube followed it it with Franz Ferdinand, and I found it to be much improved from when I listened to it at the beginning of the week. So much so that I relistened to the album, and would have scored it as a solid 3. With this though it is only the music that brings it just about up to a 2. If it didn't have that, it would be a solid 0.
I really just don't get Radiohead.
6/5/2024
I like: Let Down Karma Police No Surprises
Liked it more than I did when it came out, but it's still not my favourite. There is some entertainment value now being able to listen with the words in front of me - some of the lines make no sense at all.
Just not a Radiohead fan. There's the odd track that I like, but re-listening to 'OK Computer' 25-odd years on hasn't changed that view.
Was skeptical at first but ended up really enjoying 3 tracks. Really digging Subterranean Homesick Alien, Let Down, and The Tourist.
Did not listen
I’ve tried to like Radiohead. And I do like a few of their songs. But this album is everything I don’t like about them. Drifty, whiney, self-indulgent.
Muito triste pro meu gosto
I enjoyed the layered instrumentation and atmospheric elements of this album, but Thom Yorke's nasal vocal delivery and falsetto are terrible. This is depressing music.
Not really for me. Fine but not special
I've listened to this album a half dozen times over the last decade trying to hear why everyone thinks it's great. I just don't get it. It's a good album but not great in my opinion.
ok. just ok.
This was just bad
Not generally for me this. No Surprises is pretty good, but I don't really care for the rest of it. Exit Music (For a Film) sounds a lot like Muse.
thom yorke reminds me of spongebob in the episode where he is just really really sad - inconsolably so - and even squidward has deep deep concern for him, except this happened to spongebob because he lost his job which is deeply moving and sympathetic and i feel like this happened to yorke just because he had to eat his pasty in the rain and they ran out of chicken bakes so hes eating a macaroni pie instead
Not a fan. Very boring.
Maybe two songs I really enjoyed? Not my thing. 2/5
Not bad music just a bit boring 🦧. Let's just say if they came on the radio I'd change radio station
Boring and overated
I guess I just don't get radiohead
Dark and sad
I've heard great things about this album, and it just did NOT live up to the hype. It was ok, I can see the appeal, but personally I'm not a fan. All the songs sound the same, I'm not a huge fan of the singer, and overall it was very bland.
whiny vocals. very boring. exit music (for a film) made me want to exit music (in real life). a few good parts i guess. karma police ok.
A few songs are good, but this is still one of the most overrated albums of all time made by one of the most overrated artists of all time. Whiny and pretentious with lyrics you can barely understand and songs that sounds the same. 2.5/5
Radiohead are ok…this album is way over rated and not their best. Bends, Rainbows much more coherent
What did the young, hip tablet say to it's aging out-of-touch neighbor?
Njäääääh ihan ok mut Radiohead ei vaan toimi mulle. Kun meno koveni, oli parempi.
Melancholy alt rock, nothing really grabbed me
I don't like the vocal production in a lot of these songs at all, it's just mushy and annoying to me. I like some of Radiohead's albums, but this one is just not one I'd randomly choose to listen to.
There’s a fine line between Radiohead and prog at times. I am not sure that this album always strike that balance right. I get that there’s a journey with Radiohead, from sub-Nirvana indie rock to Apex Twin electronic, but that album just feels indulgent. And over time, Yorke’s miserablisms just make me weary after a while. Some okay songs from the time here, but I think my days of enjoying Radiohead may well be long gone now.
The production on this sounds incredibly distorted. There's far to much going on. I've never warmed to that voice - or even the songs tbh. I fail to understand why so many people wet the bed over Radiohead. I prefer the Easy All Stars Radiodread take. I gave up with three tracks remaining. I caught up with a work webinar instead.
Every year or two I decide "This is the year I'll like Radiohead! and then I listen to like 4 albums and go "...Maybe next year" So generic and bad and boring and you can smell the axe body spray
Radiohead, like Coldplay. are a band that I just don't get at all. Creep was OK, but is on Pablo Honey and thereby not on this. Their biggest hit - Paranoid Android - is here but is just as flat as the rest of the album. Where is the energy? Where is the drive? They are supposed to be a rock band, and for brief moments this is believable, but then they revert back to a meandering passive style of music that goes nowhere very slowly with Thom Yorke's whining voice not helping. A good example of this is the aforementioned Paranoid Android which has a bridge that is reasonable rock and a coda that is also rock, but for at least 5 minutes of the 6 minute 27 second track it is a mushy mess.
The first two songs were good, but the rest of the album was way too weird and sad.
Tried really hard to give this album a fair shake going into it, having never particularly cared for Radiohead beyond a few songs. After a couple listens, it is a creative album for sure, with a few good tracks, and i can see why people would like it. That said i still walked away feeling like it was a bit of an overrated mess that went on way too long. Just has a vibe i dont want to stew in for close to an hour. This definitely isn't the worst album I've heard, there are some pretty decent songs I'll probably even come back to, but i seriously doubt I'll ever want to listen to the album as whole ever again.
Too angsty for me. Prefer Kid A.
I do not get the hype
I'm sure this score will be ridiculed, but just didn't enjoy the album.
I always thought that I would like Radiohead more than I do but more of the time I struggle to find songs of their that I like. This rings true for this album. 1. Electioneering 2. Paranoid Android 3. Subterranean Homesick Alien
mid
Wasn't great honestly
I just don't enjoy this style of singing -- it's just too downer, too much "whine" in his voice, and I don't like when I can't understand most of the words. Ok musically but I don't find this pleasurable to listen to
Back to unenjoyable Radiohead. Nothing really of note on this album other than I didn't care for it.
It’s entirely possible this was the wrong day to listen to this album. Being on a 5-hour flight seemed a great opportunity to listen to the album of the day and pass the time. It did not pass the time. Long, dreary, whiny songs made five minutes seem like five hours and I got restless and claustrophobic in my seat and I had to break up the listening into intervals. I do imagine that on a different day I might have liked it somewhat, but today was not the day.
Meh
Didn't make it all the way through this one -- not my cup of tea. No offense to the band or anything, just not my thing :)
Taas näitä minkä hypeä en hiffaa. Pöllyssä varmaan femma
Standouts here are: • Karma Police • No Surprises • The Tourist Lots of vocals that were unpleasant to listen to. If you dig it, I’m happy for you! This is decidedly *not* for me.
I've never quite gotten the hype of Radiohead. I feel like I need better speakers than the crappy laptop ones to really appreciate this, but here we are.
Was OK
What is all the fuss about? Very little on here stands out, even half of the singles are forgettable to me. Abrasive lullaby’s for the depressed. Too soporific to be exciting, too shrill to be relaxing. I had to go listen to The Bends to remind myself that Radiohead can write great songs. Fuck it, 2 stars.
I know this is supposed to be their best album and all, but I just didn't enjoy it.
Ugh. It's fine. I like the big songs, but some of them make me roll my eyes. Best album ever? NO. Terrible? No.
Rock suave sin estridencias. Alguna melodía buena. No me ha llamado la atención
I enjoyed Karma Police and Fitter Happier, but the rest of the album was too slow for me. In the past I felt I never meshed with the Radiohead "vibe" and that trend continued with this album.
Eh
Disappointed.
just never been a fan
Better than I remember but still don't want to listen to it with any regularity.
About the same as I remember: some cool stuff, but it doesn't really grab me...in fact turns me away a bit.
Every tone is shit.
Rock music for pretentious people
Shoudnt be in top 1001
I thought this would be good cause its radiohead but it wasn't it was below average for me 2.1/10
Not my kind of music
Never listened to Radiohead before. But this is exactly how I thought it would sound
No, just no. I've tried so hard to like Radiohead. But they suck.
I don’t get radio head
This just did very little for me. I recognized many of the songs, but they felt not memorable.
I liked Radiohead as a younger teenager, but then I discovered music that's actually good. This was never my favorite album even then. Overrated album and band tbh. Fuck Israel.
No thanks
Probably the most overrated album of all time. I hated every minute of it.
never listened, never will you cannot break me
I started this list partially so that i could challenge my preconceptions about certain genres of music. One of those preconceptions was that Radiohead sucks. My preconceptions were strengthened after this album. You can sometimes hear the band working desperately in the background to try and give this album any semblance of sauce but their efforts are sucked into the whining, mewling vortex of Yorke's insufferable tennis-ball-in-mouth singing. The guy sings like he was castrated and is now *really sad* about it. I've heard death metal vocalists more understandable and pleasant to listen to. 'But the lyrics! They speak to modern man's alienation!' Maybe they speak to modern man's alienation from enunciating clearly, but what lyrics I was able to understand I was not impressed by, mainly in 'Fitter Happier' (since that song mercifully uses a TTS). It's some I'm-14-and-this-is-deep bullshit: being a happy, healthy, well-adjusted member of society is lame and stupid, I guess. As someone who was not that for a while, I can tell you that it's much less romantic and cool than this song implies. Rather be a pig on antibiotics than someone constantly on the verge of killing myself or assaulting somebody. I didn't bother to try to look up the lyrics to most of the other songs on this album because if you don't sound like you care about what you're saying then why should I? The band's playing is actually good on songs like Airbag, Electioneering, and Paranoid Android (which is the only song where the music and singing seem to express an emotion besides 'wah'), so realistically this is probably closer to a 2. However, I'm giving it a 1 out of sheer spite for all the music critics and self-important hipsters that have spent the last 30 years slobbering over the dick of a band that is ultimately just another mediocre indie outfit.
Overrated trash. Very uninteresting
Did not loved it. I dont like songs that sound like noise or no-lyrics without a symphony.
Not my kinda thing but didn’t mine two of the songs.
Not my vibe 🤷♀️
If Let Down wasn't surrounded by the rest it might be a bit irresistible. And some of the parts of the whole thing without Thom Yorke are quite good, technically kinda brilliant in places (not the computer voice either). But I can't deal with the level of misery and whine on this album. And it has Karma Police and Paranoid Android *and* No Surprises on it so.. while it's impressive how many songs on this are still played endlessly and so on... No... Basically. Not for me.
Grozno. Na Fitter Happier sam odustao. Hvala, sljedeci!
I found this to be unenjoyable for the most part. There were a few moments where I liked the instrumental parts of songs. Electioneering was the most tolerable song overall. I detested the vocals - whiny, grating. The lyrics were depressing and weird. The overall tone of the album was depressing.
You all are wrong.
Nails on a chalkboard. This band would do well to sell their songs to others for recording. Like Morrissey, unlistenable, pathetic voice.
Please! No more Radiohead! Thom Yorke’s voice sucks! It’s way too weak and whiny for the hard driving guitars and synthesizers.
Dreary adjective dull, bleak, and lifeless; depressing.
How many albums does this dude have? Just make one big cry like a bitch album and be done with it.
Painful... if this made the list I must not have any musical culture. Listening felt like punishment.
Most overrated album I've encountered so far for real.
was just not feeling it, couldn't connect. something too manish about it for me.
meczace, moze dwa ok, musialem skipowac wiele piosenek wiec za to minus
Very boring album, and honestly how did kore than one radiohead make into this list. I would say this was as bad as the first album i listened too
I have tried many times with these guys but for me this album and the band in general is torture. As overrated as anything I have ever heard.
An album for people who truly deserve their government disability checks. Seek therapy immediately if you enjoyed this.
Not my type of music
ass
I have been dreading this album ever since I started this project. I have not listened to it in something like 25 years, after listening to it on constant repeat after I bought the album. Listening to it now brings up such an intense and unpleasant visceral reaction that it's hard for me to keep it on. Once upon a time I fell asleep to this album. There was a dumb trend back when this came out, I guess because they could, where bands put "secret" songs on the back end of an album. In the case of OK Computer, the secret song came on after something like 20 minutes of slow, pulsing electronic music. When I consciously listened to the album, I'd either skip the final song or fast forward through the bridge. But when I fell asleep I couldn't do that. I don't know if it was the bridge itself, or some other part of the album (it does all kinda blend together), but this album became the sound track to the worst nightmare I have ever had. It haunts me to this day, the despair I felt while trapped in this dream, overlaid by the pulsing of the music. After I woke up, during the final song, I realized I could never listen to the album again. In fact, I never listened to anything by Radiohead again (except for the one other album out of 1,001 that I've gotten so far) and will not pick them up again.
aaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhhh!
There are 4 radiohead albums on this list. I'm so glad I've had them all so never have to listen to them again!
Hab abgebrochen
Mass-produced music industry drivel masquerading as something "alternative". I find it deeply depressing that so many people believe that this is somehow "special" or original. It ain't. It's pretentious shite by and for people with little or no imagination. Completely underwhelming.
not ok , recommended by a depressed ex started feeling depressed myself after this
Radiohead sucks and so does this album. I swore I’d never listen to another Radiohead album after Kid A Dogshit. It’s not a top 100, they aren’t saving rock n roll. They are overrated. Ok Dogshit Computer. Zero stars if I could rate it that 1001 album worthy: No - 29/51
Stop making me listen to Thom Yorke
There, I said it. Jedna dobra stvar.
Recognise some of the songs. Really overrated. Not a great album to me.

I'm going to immediately assign this a 1, then be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong. There is no reason why Radiohead needs to be featured so heavily in this book. This will be album #6 of theirs I've had thus far... Can't wait to hear Thom Yorke start moaning instead of singing... Ffs. Favourite songs: Karma Police, Paranoid Android Least favourite songs: Fitter Happier, Exit Music (For a Film) 1/5.... I knew it.....
Nope, I didn´t like that at all
My favorite Radiohead album. Except I don’t actually like Radiohead.
An ok album with some good songs
I don’t like electronic music. Real instruments only for me…product of my time I guess.
Sonderbarer Art Rock.
Sure, if you're having one of those days where you want to feel drugged and "think" you're hallucinating, this is the album that will give you what you want. It's a shame I listened to it on a day when I was feeling good. I'll be back for you, you little weird stuff
Highly acclaimed, but not for me. Guess I was in the mood for uptempo music, and this isn’t it.
I never like how people use the word 'overrated'. Overrated should never refer to inherent quality; it's a metadiscursive term meant to situate any given piece of media in the context of how other people talk about it. For example, it wouldn't be correct to say "OK Computer is bad". However, it would be correct to say "OK Computer is one of the most overrated albums ever made".
Not my thing at all.
Vocals were difficult to understand; the sound quality had much to be desired. The write-up of this album stated it was produced mostly in their practice studio, then somewhere else said it was 80% live? I think at the end of my life I would have been 110% fine to have never heard this album, so being 1001 Albums you must hear before you die is a pretty huge S T R E T C H for this one.
I already rated this
Nothing really good or memorable. Won't listen to it again. Trying to understand who's picking these albums - they're not very good.
Sure, it's a classic and defining album but Radiohead have never been my cup of tea
Didn't really care for it.
null
I have no idea how this is a popular album
I hate Radiohead. They're like buying Pink Floyd on Wisb for people born in the 80s. It's airy and whiny in not a good way. I really don't get why everyone loves this album
i disliked this less than i expected, based on my previous feelings about radiohead. 1.5
