powerhouse album

i dig it

Fine Pop album.
Great timing. Was just gifted this on Vinyl. A classic, this is what this list is for. 4.5/5 I had no idea Gangster's Paradise was sampled from this album
When HipHop was good. This album could be 5-stars based on it's clear influence on HipHop over the next 10 years alone. On the other hand it is quite silly.
Honestly, a 5 for Tuesday's Gone alone. This whole album is fire, tho.
oof that was a slog. Could see enjoying it after a few pints, tho.

4.5. Some all time greats and a few duds
undeniably a great voice, but those songs, woof

I used to blast this in the shower while getting ready for high school. Ahhh, youth.
one of the best
I dig it. this speaks to the robot in me.
an album of Bond Film Intros
always appreciate experimentation, this one's just not for me
i mean, it's no Children of Bodom, but I get why it's here
classic post-modern album
4,5
That was silly
i always confuse this band with My Chemical Romance and was dreading this listen. Imagine my surprise!
4,5
wanted to like this album more than I really did. Still a solid album. Student Demo and Feel Flows top it for me.
80s before the 80s were the 80s
These guys were on another plane
we will never forget tonight
Ahhh, to be an angsty teenager again. brings me back.

Little Wing on it's own makes this a 5-star album, and then there are all the other songs. Jimi, Mitch and Noel knew what was up
Antonio deserves better
4.5
I can still hear this album for the first time. Walking into a record store in Israel as a 13-year-old freshly-minted bar mitzvahed kid, asking what the locals were listening to. Riding on a bus that had to get rerouted due to a potential bomb on the road makes Bombtrack hit different.
Was not ready for this. Wow.
The 80's were weird times

i was skeptical going into this. now I'm a believer.
2.5
idk just never really 'got' The Smiths
other than the song everyone knows, this is a bit of a bore
Well that's a trip!
love Brit but no, not to listen to

5, obviously
dude's just a biiiiit too into himself

did not need to listen to this before I died
joke band
i'll never understand how this voice had a successful career
wanted to like it more
great cover photo. is that Tom Brady?
5... ALL night long
too bad these guys became such tools
silly if nothing else. always some props to the artsy's
I mean, respect. Just not something I'd choose to listen to.
3.5
It's hard because I love Green Day and I'm happy for them but man this really marked the beginning of their mediocrity. Its almost good but you can just feel the 'sell out' dripping from it. annoying.
3.5
One of those artists I want to like but just can't seem to get in to
Reminds me of studying at Starbucks in highschool.
Funny, I just picked up the '69 pressing of this album a couple of days before it popped up here. Strange Brew indeed.
One of the songs on this album is "Fido Your Leash Is Too Long". Well, Magnetic Fields, this album is too long. Good, but too long.
I remember walking down La Cienaga around 2010, 2011 during a Fashion Week block party and seeing these two jamming this album in front of some store. Cut to 2023 watching them play the same album at the Greek. Good stuff.
This is the album that got me into collecting collectible records. Came across an original press of this at a local record store when I was about 16, maybe 17, and was hooked on the history.
well that was unexpected
Didn't think I'd like it. I was wrong.
What is this list's obsession with Elvis Costello?
A classic
Randy Newman's success is an enigma. But at least we got the Toy Story theme song from it.
Seriously, ANOTHER Elvis Costello album?
Easiest 5 on the list
Now this is the type of album this list was made for.
guy just sounds like he's trying too hard, and drunk
what a douche
surprised!
hilarious
This album is so good. And was so seminal in my music discovery as a kid. But now all I head is "wahhh Napster, waaahhhh". So a 4 instead of a probably deserving 5. But damn this album still slaps.
why do I feel like I *should* like Morrissey more than I do?
He 'marries' a 13 year old, then on his redemption tour his backing band is the Nashville TEENS? Can't make that up.
2 hits and a bunch of filler. Not too shabby in the grand scheme.
This one brings back fond memories
why is the maker of this list obsessed with Costello?
A great year 14 year old me is creaming himself
"Produced by Frank Zappa". That explains it.
Karen Oh's origin story.
a 4 on the merits of Mr. Blue Sky along. The rest of the album is a 3.
pastiche of a rock star
