Good album, always enjoy it
Art Rock meets Brit Pop in a psychadelic Mix, very creative but I don‘t like the art of Radiohead…6/10
Mostly good, with a few memorable songs. Probably about half didn't leave much of an impression. Moving in the right direction from The Bends
Radiohead, the worlds most alright band
Better than I expected
This is not terrible. I cannot for the life of me enjoy these guys but this album is at least ok.
Not my type of music. Interesting sound and good voice. Some good songs.
Was ok
Moments of being great, but still over rated.
Good title. It's OK.
One of Radiohead’s classics. Very ethereal and somber, and while the musicianship and songwriting is very good, it’s a bit too languid for my tastes.
Good not great IMO
I was expecting this album to show up at some point and was looking forward to finally hearing it. I admit to disappointment. I normally connect with music that is strong thematically, lyrically and musically. This one just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was just a bit too dark with at times obscure lyrics. Having said the above, a couple of songs were notable including "No Surprises" and "Lucky". Just a 3 from me...
Overrated
OK
Was ok, it's not really the style I'm used to, but also didn't vibe a lot with it. Almost every song are extremely calm for me.
this is one of those things that is listening when I first heard it and got less interesting each time.
Good. Best tracks are Paranoid Android. Karma Police and No Surprises 3/5
This would have been great To find in middle school but it just goes on and on too long for me.
Fine but not my vibe
Better and worse than I remember
Dnf, the guitars are cool! I felt like I got it after a few songs
Goddamn it
I was never that keen on Radiohead despite all the hype at the time. A couple of tracks resonated but I’m still not a fan. Low 3*
Easily one of the most overrated albums of my lifetime. I can’t deny the artistry, but I don’t think that I’ll ever personally connect to it. C
I've tried with this album a few times over the years. It's fine I suppose, but I'm not quite sure why so many people consider it an all time great, up the with Dark Side of The Moon and Abbey Road. It sounds English to me. It sounds outside the box and has some synth sounds and stuff. I guess it spoke to a generation that is not me. If feels like it's ground breaking and amazing if you've never listened to anything outside of top 40 popular music. One of the song on here really remind me of Steel Pole Bath Tub. This sounds post U2. It sounds cohesive as an album. The production is good. Everything is good. Just not one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Not for me. I'm not sure about what's going on with the lyrics and that might be a big part of it. 3.5/5
For some reason I just don’t like Radiohead very much.
Decent Album, definitely criterion status but not my favorite of theirs. Probably won't pull it up again
I need to give this one a second pass, a lot of the songs take a while to really come together and the vibe as a whole feels really slow in a way that clicks when it cooks but often left me kind of bored. Still, it has me wanting to go through again to see if it works for me so it clearly did something right?
No es lo mío.
Beautiful but slower, one of my less fave Radiohead albums
Too depressive
Turns out I'm okay without the computer telling me what to do. Skipped Fitter Happier everytime after about 10 seconds. Liked No Surprises. I need to dig a little deeper on the lyrics, because they don't typically stand out to me while I'm listening, but tracks like Electioneering are definitely still relevant more than 25 years later. Still not really a Radiohead fan, but I wouldn't turn if off, either. Like a cat.
There's some songs on here that I appreciate more now that I've been able to marinate on this album for 25 years. I wasn't a fan initially.
More like a 3.5 for me. Granted I was never someone who listened to Radiohead. I heard the album back at release and didn't get the hype. I still don't in 2024. To be honest, I enjoyed In Rainbows more as I think it's a much more consistent quality of a listen.
I *still* want to like Radiohead more than I do, sadly. This is probably one of their better if not their best album, I know, but I still have a hard time enjoying the songs, even though they're well done and have interesting arrangements and odd lyrics in a good way. I'm not sure why they don't do it for me (although I think part of it is Thom Yorke's voice/style, sadly), but I likely won't listen to this album again. Sorry Radiohead! I *will* say that the music video for "Paranoid Android" is truly bizarre, and I couldn't stop watching the entire 6+ minute video (although I'll admit that I probably wouldn't have done so if they'd left it at the original 14-minute runtime). And I also have *zero* idea what I just saw, or what the song is about (and I don't think the animation really had anything to do with the song, oddly (correction: apparently the animator based the video on how the song felt, and wasn't provided the lyrics ahead of time)), but I love it that the song's title is inspired by "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". And a few other things that I liked from the Wikipedia article on the album: Brian Eno is once again everywhere; apparently they took a break from this album by touring and opening for Alanis Morisette (not the most logical pairing, I would think); and I can definitely see why Yorke credits Philip K. Dick's VALIS as an influence (although I now realize I was thinking of Dick's "Ubik" when I read "VALIS").
OK Radiohead. He sings like his tongue is numb. There were parts that I liked (instrumental bits) and parts I didn’t like (when he gets a bit too whiney with the vocals). I actually enjoyed the more experimental album we had last from them more than this and this is their biggest album. Karma Police is their best song. 6/10
It was pretty good, but all the songs sounded the same
This was my favorite of the Radiohead albums I’ve heard so far but that’s not saying much
WTF seriously another Radiohead album. So this my third so far out of roughly 100 albums. Did we actually need to hear 3 of these before we die? No of course not because they all sound basically the same.
Some all-time Radiohead bangers, but songs tend to blend together overall.
Need to be in mood for it.
I learned a couple of things in listening to this album. First, I learned that "OK Computer" is regarded as the album that more or less began Radiohead's transition into heavier experimental and progressive sounds, rather than just "typical" alternative music. By listening to the music, this fact is pretty obvious. Second, I learned that I'm not very into this era of Radiohead. Don't get me wrong, the musicality and concept for this album are strong, and exactly of the caliber that you would expect from Radiohead. But I'm just not that into it. A very weak 3 from me.
Unfortunately Radiohead is a band that I just haven’t been able to ever get into, minus a few of their mega hit songs. I struggled connecting with the music.
Good album.
Not exactly my style but very good.
Thought this album would be right up my alley as I tend to enjoy alt rock. This was very middle of the road for me. None of the tracks really stood out.
Ik vind dit gewoon saai, en heb er niet veel mee. Karma Police en No Surprises zijn aangenaam tot ze repetitief worden.
I want to like Radiohead, but it’s just not for me. Allthough there are some beautiful and thought provoking Tracks on here, must of it just doesn’t resonate with me. However, I can’t deny how influental this is.
Radiohead is not my thing, but it's not bad.
I used to like it a lot more but there are a few goodies on here…Karma Police is my fav
Karma police saves it from a 2.
It's Radio-head, I get that it's good but there wasn't much that grabbed me. I respect a brave album but OK Computer may just not be for me
3.5
Never listened to this before - it just sort of passed me by in the days before streaming and I've never bothered to listen since. It's probably something I'd really enjoy if I listened to it about 20 times. I managed three listens over a couple of days and I'm sure there's something there to justify the hype, but I'm not particularly inclined to put the time in I'd need to find out. I can understand why people liked it though and I'm glad to have listened to it.
Airbag 3.6 Paranoid Android 3.7 Subterranean Homesick Alien 3.5 Exit Music (For a Film) 3.2 Let Down 3.4 Karma Police 3 Fitter Happier 2.7 Electioneering 3.8 Climbing Up the Walls 2.9 No Surprises 3.7 Lucky 3.4 The Tourist 3.4 Score: 3.358333333
I think this is the kind of album that is going to take a number of listenings to be appreciated. Some of the techniques will take some getting used to; the smearing of the lyrics for example. It isn’t always easy to tell what’s being said - or even when words change. Interesting sounds though.
Pretty great album
With the presence of some real excellence also comes a bit of polarizing execution. The production vosuexis high, and the structure of the songs is well done. The use of instruments and the singing are also something to be appreciated. I get lost in the experimental abyss, but I also get caught by the beauty. Overall, a strong album that deserves its recognition. I should appreciate this more for influencing the better side of “Sad boy rock” but here we are…
A couple of gems. A few meh tunes. I like melancholy music but this is too dreary at times. There better Radiohead albums.
Groundbreaking!
Took a few songs to get used to the groany voice. Love the guitar. Love the thoughts on what technology is doing to people. I would have loved this album as an angsty teenager, but now it hurts my head a little.
Never listened to much Radiohead. Thought this was going to be more electronic, but still mostly guitar based. It's pretty good, although I couldn't understand most of the lyrics. Would revisit. 3.6
Même review que pour l'album qu'on a eu ya 3 semaines : bon album pour se réveiller un lundi matin
Valeur sûre
Not bad but far from perfect.
Tidal следил за альбомом с Us and Them, так что мои уши меня не обманули!
Etwas melancholisch
It’s not my favorite but I enjoyed it. I listened to it 3 times and it grew on me a bit.
Not my thing, but I admit it's good. Very depressing and whiny, though.
Fine. Just fine.
It's OK
Can’t understand the lyrics
I can hear and understand its greatness but it doesn’t click for me on a personal level. I still don’t fully “get” Radiohead
Radiohead is still hit or miss for me, and this album was more hit than miss compared to the last one we listened to.
I have had two Radiohead albums from this list already, and my reaction to this one is the same: good musicianship, but a little dreary and depressing.
Just listened to this a few months back. I just don’t get why this band is so popular. The back half of the album is pretty good but this album is in the top 20 here along with the biggest albums of all time. It’s just…..fine?
Radiohead again, this is their third album I got in only two weeks of doing this. I can't say I truly hated any of it, I just heavily disliked it although I admit I disliked this one less than expected and prefer it to the other two (Kid A and Hail to the Thief). There are actually more than a few parts that were ok, instrumental mostly, as well as parts that bored me and parts that annoyed me. Yorke's voice and singing makes me want to punch the guy. Maybe this band could be an acquired taste but right now, it's all just meh to me.
It’s a 90s vibe. Think you need to be in a mood to listen to it. Too mellow for me. But still good music.
Heard before. I think I first heard it while cooking, my dad was watching Prince Philip's funeral. Weird. This time I was doing a study on British and Irish landscapes, which meant three hours of staring at pictures of desolate suburbs and... shrubs. So depressing, oh god. But some tracks take me to another plane of existence. + Subterranean Homesick Alien + Karma Police + Fitter Happier + Climbing Up The Walls + No Surprises + The Tourist
Hey! This Radiohead album resembles music!!!
Maybe I need to listen to it more. I just don’t see/hear what all the hype is about. It’s not BAD. It’s just not 🤯🤯🤯🤯 either
Langweilig
Not really my thing, but I recognize the technical creativity.
Like aspiring to never wash spiders down the plughole
didn't like them then, still don't
A great album with some classics on there. Best song: climbing up the walls Rating: 7/10
Karma Police and No Surprises are absolute gems that make the album so much better than it should be. Without them, it's a really good album. But not amazing. Those 2 songs are amazing. Other standouts like the Tourist and other songs are better than good, but not amazing. And the rest of the album is really good. But In Rainbows is so much better as a whole. But Karma Police and No Surprises are better than an individual song on In Rainbows.
Decent album with a great song
Damn, another listen to this thing and another time I fail to enjoy it. Maybe its because the band fail to sound like they're enjoying themselves at all, or maybe because they fail to sound like anything?? The performances of Let Down and Karma Police feel particularly shapeless, and fail to give the songs the heart they really need. Another gripe is that they sound far too serious and moody to ever truly rock like they did on The Bends. This is likely because on so many of the songs the band are playing greatly into art rock pretentions that they sound massively out of their zone on the truly rock moments like Electioneering. Hell, I would even argue that Paranoid Android suffers from this, especially when they go into the heavy part a second time, forgetting the most effective aspect of the tune was its creeping suspense. However, when the album turns its fears of technology and alienation inward, it greatly succeeds. Exit Music's images of abandonment and it's slow, anguished build are still captivating. No Surprises is just as powerful, greatly showing Johnny Greenwood's talents as an arranger. This is not to mention the beyond-words excellent production of Nigel Godrich, and the much-needed life he brings to some of the weaker songs, though I do find Let Down to still sound a bit of a mess. Ultimately, I still find OK Computer a confusing record, and one that often gets in its own way. Maybe, if Thom addressed some of his concerns in a more human, real way, I'd be more empathetic. But sadly this album is too big, too blatant for me to feel much of anything.
Nie jestem fanem
very angsty, but also i could see some songs (let down) playing during the sad part of a grey’s anatomy episode. also ok computer is like that paul rudd skit on tim and eric lol
Seems like too much and too little at the same time. Lead singer mumbles words and gas a whiny tone. The instruments are played well with precision. There are small stretches of good rock music intereperced with long, boring, whiny sessions. It's like the band could play good music but chose not to.
enjoyed the guitars and vibe but don't like the guys voice
3.5
I always forget just how good Karma Police is until Iisten to it, and then I listen to it loads before forgetting all over again.
Iconic, but I still struggle with Radiohead sometimes
Wasn’t my cup of tea but wasn’t bad either
Much better than I remembered. Never been a fan of Yorke's voice, but works well here and this was when Radiohead were good before they started putting out all the weird shit later on.
Always a bit similar to Muse's slower tracks, but with a few totally original songs thrown in.
Solid album. I debated between 3/5 or 4/5. It honestly deserves the 4 from how important it is culturally, but I doubt I will ever return to the album. Nothing in the album stands out as good or bad to me. I know this was genre redefining in 1997 and must have sounded much different too the ears 25 years ago. From a 2023 perspective it is a little bland and generic. Genuinely suffering from success since this is the blueprint for British rock through the 2000s. I have plenty of respect for the band and the album but it's just not quite my vibe.
Favorite Tracks Karma Police
Pretty alright! Not amazing - some of the songs sounded pretty generic but others make it obvious why its rated so highly. A 50/50 for me
It was ok
Good album with
Very chill music
JSchlatt moment
I still don't really "get" this album I don't think. It's pretty good and I like it alright but I dunno. Karma Police does slap though.
Finally listened to the album as a whole. I’ve only listened to certain songs. Pretty good, gets a tad boring at times.
Some nice songs. Didn't fit my vibe for the day but all in all a good album.
It was ok. I liked a few of the songs but overall it's just too dreary for me.
A little whiney, not bad, kinda low key
mostly thought this was just. OK. jump scared a few times by songs i knew that i didn’t realize were radiohead.
As my friend said, “Too many beeps and boops.” Still a few good songs though.
Okay. Don't get the hype around this album.
Its good but not great.
some iconic songs but radiohead is simply never the vibe.
While there are some really good songs on here I just can't get into their general sound which I find too slow and depressing
Not bad. I’m a little over-Radioheaded.
This album is lauded as one of the greatest albums of all time so of course I've been trying to figure out why.... for like forever. I've listened to it dozens of time and I think its good, but do I like it... not really. I do however acknowledge its nuanced, experimental approach and densely layered sound, and I am forever grateful that this album basically started the shift from the hated and retched Brit-pop to a more melancholic, atmospheric alternative rock sound that became more prevalent in the next decade, so I have them to thank for that. But once again, I don't love it.
No bad by any stretch, but overrated I feel
lite mer min typ av musik, något distig möjligtvis
Not my type of music but pretty good
Heard it before?: Yes Enjoy it?: yes, nice range and progression, need to finish their discography to really judge this one Favourite song: Track 10 - No Surprises
little too much for me
Moody, slightly depressing - were the 1990's really that bad? For me, "No Surprises" is the highlight with its haunting melody.
Background music.
Good but overrated
I feel bad, i liked the album but I didn't think it was one of the best albums ever. That is what i've heard about it. I think I'll have to go back and listen to it again.
Hmm, is it good because it's actually good, or is it good because I'm being told it's good. Either way, not as good as they say...
I've heard people say this is the greatest album of all time. It's not even the best album in the year it came out (Time Out of Mind or "Daft Punk" are both better). And it's not Radiohead's best album either (I prefer several, including Kid A). It's not bad album though. I'd give it 7 or 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Normally that means I would round up to 4 stars, but given the slobber fest this album garners, I'm rounding down to 3. The album has a couple of very good songs, but a lot of boring songs as well (almost all of the second half of the album.)
Whiney rock
Decent album, but Radiohead just can’t get higher than a 3/5 to me.
I couldn't connect with this album when it came out, and it seems I only like it slightly more 25 years later.
Om de een of andere reden paste dit geweldig bij mijn mood maar vond het niet per se leuk weg luisteren. Beetje een blue monday vibe
Not too bad. Not much for Melancholic alt as a whole, nor Radiohead in particular. I did like 2 of the songs though
Other than a couple of songs, I'm not very familiar with Radiohead at all. This was a nice surprise. Now I get what I've been hearing about them.
Bra, lite likt Kent på engelska
I hated this record when it was new. I don't hate it as much anymore. The singing annoys me a little. Otherwise it's pretty good. Favorite song: Airbag
I have a complicated relationship with Radiohead
This is the 4th and final Radiohead album I'll get and my opinion hasn't changed. They are okay to bland for me. Maybe one day I'll finally get Radiohead but after this it hasn't changed.
Bra!
mooie nummers maar ik voel hem niet zo, soms doet de stem me wat aan matt bellamy(?) denken.. Dieje van Muse
An album from my youth. Didn't enjoy it as much as I expected to, found it pretty dreary and dirgy. Will definitely listen to the hits again but doubt I'll revisit the full album.
great
I wanted to like this album more than I did and more than how everyone carries on about it? Some songs are fine, don't get me wrong, but it feels a bit... overrated? 7/10.
Pretty nice overall
Wasn't as shit as the other Radiohead album. Was like proper music and for that I will give 3
Not for me
Just can't get into Radiohead. I appreciate and respect their work but just can't stomach them.
Overrated
I liked this better than Kid A, but just can't seem to get into Radiohead for some reason.
Rock progresivo bastante monótono
3.9/5
Good listen, I lost interest in them when the rest of their album didn't sound like creep. That being said, this was a really good listening experience.
Two tracks in and I like the guitar stylings. I have also been able to make out 1 in about 6 lyrics as they go by. Which i guess is a plus. Thom's moaning and wailing seem to fit this speed. Karma Police is recognizable. No Surprises is okay. The Tourist is a nice chill ender to put this album to bed. This was probably the second most enjoyable Radiohead album I have had, so its not innoffensive but not my bag either.
Har aldri forstått meg heilt på Radiohead-hypen
This is 400000th time I’ve had to listen to this album because of some list or group declaring the best and a must listen etc. I’m still largely bored. I feel like this is one of those things everyone says is great because they feel like they’re being smart but no one is actually into it
I have to listen to this album in short bursts. It is a truly accomplished body of work. However, after a few tracks, I feel physically heavier. Weighed down by worthiness possibly? There are three songs towards the end. I could do without but the rest are great songs. I could do with this being a 3.5 but since I can’t do that and I’m feeling quite oppressed having listened to Thom Yorke’s vocal tendrils infiltrate my cells it’s a…
Можно послушать
One of the most boring and overrated albums I have ever listened to. Yes, amazing production and sound experimentation, and the vocals are great, but the level of hype the band received for this is to me is not warranted.
Big hype around this and it defs had some potential with the sound. But it fails to deliver and live up to it. The songs are fast forgotten, nothing really stands out
3.5 Quite good.
Not really a huge Radiohead fan but there were some songs that I enjoyed, overall not amazing but wasn't a punishment to listen to either
Always remember this album being really slow, dreary and depressing but once you've heard Frankie Teardrop it doesn't seem all that bad. Some decent songs but still don't get all the Radio head hype.
Välkänt album men jag är inte jätteimponerad. Singlarna från plattan är dock jättebra.
I know society says I should like Radiohead but I simply don't get it. I can only understand 1 of every 20 words so maybe I am missing the profoundness. The music is well-crafted with bits similar to Sonic Youth in exploration of sound. The radio play songs are good but every song is like a funeral dirge. Yorke's vocalization makes me think of a wailing widow lamenting alone at the grave of her lost love. It's affecting but I wouldnt put it on my summertime roadtrip playlist. I saw them open for REM (Monster-era maybe?) - I said to myself them that this band has a lot going on -- whatever that means.
Less melodic and more atmospheric than The Bends. But still better than I remember. Especially good rainy day music.
Not my usual choice of music but quite good.
Karma police, no surprises obviously good. The rest I could skip easily...
Best Song: Paranoid Android. Really wide reaching song, that feels (in a good way) like three independently good songs crammed together into one. Worst Song: Fitter Happier. Just as in Kid A, I think the band thought this robo-voice was way cooler than it actually is. Barely intelligible, and ugly to listen to. Overall: Fine, it's good. I get that it's important, and I feel the weight of its influence while listening to it. Still though, for whatever reason, it's just not my jam. I'm sure much of the music I like wouldn't exist without Radiohead, and for that I'm grateful, but the source does little for me. There are a few standout tracks here (Paranoid Android and Karma Police, specifically), but the rest starts to get a bit lost in the sweeping instrumentals and nasal whine.
An okay album in my opinion. It was background music.
Britpop Gem
Okay, but not mindblowing for me
New kind of music for me. I like most of the songs. I need to listen to it again a couple of times to make a better description.
Yeah I mean it’s Aight, overrated as fuck imo. Some nice stuff in there but also some pretty weird stuff although I seriously fuck with the heavy bits. The tourist was a favourite
OK Computer received universal critical acclaim, sold 8 million copies, and is one of the most influential albums of all time. It's creative and innovative with eerily accurate future-predicting themes of isolation through technology and globalisation. Objectively it's a great album. Subjectively, I find the album to be fine but not very engaging or relatable. Beyond Karma Police and No Surprises it just doesn't make me feel anything. That may be the perfect artistic outcome, but it's not what I want from an album. Rating: 3/5 Playlist track: Karma Police Date listened: 16/08/22
Some good songs and it was an important album.
It was ok. 3
Better than I remembered, but whiney.
Dit is wel een lekker album. Rustige rockmuziek is niet zo mijn ding, maar de melodie en manier van zingen op dit album kan mij wel bekoren. ***
Carino, non male le prime 3. Non è che mi convinca a pieno...
Super hot or miss album for me. Some of it was good and enjoyable, some sounded like Muse who I do not care for. I liked this album instrumentally but the vocals weren’t always my favorite.
What an interesting album. There are a few gems in here, like really really shiny gems. But there are a few turds in here as well, the real stinky kind. Going middle of the road for the album with 3/5
Getting better with each listen. 3/5.
..
This is one that I need to spend some more time with. Yesterday was not the best day for a focused listen and today I am simply exhausted. There were some appealing moments and some others that were a real challenge.
Radiohead is cool. Too cool for me I think, but I get it now.
Favorite Track - Paranoid Android Where I was - Picking Meg up from airport How I listened - Amazon music in VW Listen Again? - Not Likely
I am curious to hear what Radiohead has recorded, even if I don't always like everything they do. OK Computer is a good example. Most of the tracks are at least okay, but there are a few bits that might keep me from doing a full re-listen. My reluctance to Radiohead is in part related to some of the videos from this album (which were part of my initial introduction to the band). A couple tracks get too noisy for my enjoyment. "Let Down" was the track I liked the most, folowed by "Karma Police" and "Subterranean Homesick Alien".
Quitos ok
3/5
Not as bad as I first thought. I have a thing against Radiohead for some reason.
Karma police is a classic. I appreciate Radiohead. It’s a go to when I’m feeling in my feelings just a little somber for when I’m in a good mood
Liked songwriting, production/band - not so much. Some more mainstream ok, but they can get ‘out there’.
I'm not sure I fully "got" this album, I sort of felt like I was waiting for it to be "better," since it's so highly regarded. I weirdly feel like I would have liked it more if it didn't come with the reputation, and if it was like a Stereolab album or something.
Good
Pari oikein hyvää biisiä
What’s not to love about Stevie, don’t you worry is a classic
Gets better every time I hear it. I still need more time with this one. 3/5.
Now this was one of the albums that i was not looking forward to, as so many so-called experts said it is one of the best listens. So I didnt not want to hate it. But I liked it. It has a couple of awseome songs in Karma Police & Paranoid Android.
Not a huge Radiohead fan. They do ok songs, but in general, not for me.
Here it is, the number one album of all time on RYM. I'm sorry, but it does not live up to the hype for me. I really enjoyed our previous Radiohead albums, The Bends and In Rainbows, but this one didn't really do it for me. It's certainly not bad, the music is good, it just didn't grab me in a way their other stuff has. I could sense a tad more genre exploration, and while I'll always commend that sort of thing, for me it just lacked the core that the other projects had. Of course, it's still enjoyable, but given the high praise for this (and my enjoyment of the other two we've had already), my expectations weren't met. Maybe it'll grow on me with time, but I'd honestly rather listen to the other two at this point. Favorite tracks: Airbag, Karma Police, Climbing Up the Walls, Electioneering. Album art: An inverted color picture of some highway and some other stuff. I looked it up and actually like this more with the actual colors, not inverted. Nitpicky, but yeah. I've seen this a billion times of course, but I don't think it's as iconic or impactful as The Bends or Kid A. 3.5/5
Lol bro I don't care about this album. Like I feel guilty, like everyone has always swore how good and important this album is. And like I appreciate it for what it is, but I do not care about it at all. It's kind of boring and I hated a lot of the background noises.
Not too bad. Bit depressing.
Liked it more than I thought I would. Chill
Karma Police saved this otherwise middling album
Heard OF this album many times. Let’s check it out
3.5 shout out Eric
For some reason I can't fully grasp, I have avoided listening to OK Computer ever since it came out 24 years ago. I suppose I could attribute it to hype aversion, that an album acclaimed so immediately must reflect journalists seeking unanimity for than anything. Therefore, in 1997 I bought The Prodigy's The Fat of the Land, mainly because everyone in school had also bought it. And yes, I did dismiss the critics as sheeplike whilst aping the behavior of everyone at the comp. So, has OK Computer aged well? (As to whether Fat of the Land has aged well, what do you expect from an album that quotes Goering's guns not butter speech?) One can detect the odd wrinkle and stretchmark. Firstly, the student politics of the album incite cringes rather than riots. I like to think that I am now of an age where I have a more considered view of the political landscape, and if you wish to criticise the IMF, I'd prefer your criticisms to be substantive and constructive. Still, one part of growing up is that you don't derive your politics from albums, so I can't slam Radiohead too much on that front. So what about the rest? Well, the music is fine, great in places, but I still rankle slightly at the constant need to allude to other music. I can't be the only one who doesn't want their albums reduced to a Where's Wally checklist, "Oh, just spotted Magazine, and that's Can, and that's Bitches Brew, and I think there's Edgard Varèse..." Sure, Radiohead are by no means the worst offenders from this era (Spiritualized and Primal Scream, obviously), but however much they wish to tip the titfer to their influences, it can detract as it can distract. This seems harsher than I intend it to be. OK Computer is a fine album, cohesive and biting. But the iciness can leave one cold, especially on the tips of one's ears. In short, OK Computer is... OK. I feel really pleased with myself for that last bit.
I can't make out the lyrics a lot of the time. The singing style is really annoying. 3 stars because some of the instrumental parts are good.
7/10
C'est OK. Quelques pièces m'ont agréablement surpris, mais overall ça reste le son de Radiohead que je connais. Musique généralement pas pire mais la voix de Thom Yorke peut parfois être drainante
Super long album, nice composition and flow good album overall but not a daily listener
I know I should like it and as time goes on I do more so. But it's pretty depressing
I like the odd radiohead tune, can't really handle their albums though 2.8
An ok album for shoe gazing
tortilla
this was my first time hearing this entire album - in fact, it may've been my first time hearing any of the tracks from it at all. i do enjoy just how different they are from everything else going on around them.
I was pretty bored of the easy listening grunge this album presented, but it kicked into a more enjoyable tempo with Electioneering. oh no I spoke too soon easy listening grunge is back. The 2nd half of the album was more enjoyable than the first, maybe you just need to be in the right frame of mind for some of the softer spoken songs, but I think I prefer my anger to be a bit more upfront.
Not a fan of the voice
It's good and passionate with an excellent vibe. But not to my taste.
some great songs, just always found the vocal of radiohead to be a bit hard to listen to
Still not sure why people like Radiohead that much. It's ok. Second listen, getting better Need to give it a third
It was ok. I think it's one of those things where you must have lived it, during that time for you to love it. I'll definitely give it a few more listens to see if I get hooked
OK Computer - Radiohead 1. Airbag - Good opening, I enjoyed it! Although if I were to add this into a playlist this might be a filler rather than a song I would seek out and listen. 3.25/5 2. Paranoid Android - Was hesitant at first, but it gets good. The guitar is so fucking good and such a winner for me. I think I would seek out this song. 3.5/5 3. Subterranean Homesick Alien - Nice, real smooth. I would fall asleep to this or do some major relaxation here. I mean this song is about escaping the “uptight, uptight, uptight” human world on a UFO. 3.5/5 4. Exit Music (For A Film) - I would cry to this song. Oh yup, look at those lyrics. I would definitely cry to this. Ohh scratchy bass alert, that’s so hot. This song is hot. 4/5 5. Let Down - More cheerful. This is definitely a freedom type relaxation song and if you look at the lyrics it most definitely is. 2.5/5 6. Karma Police - Excited to hear this because it’s their second most popular song. I might be crazy but I thought it was alright. 3/5 7. Fitter Happier - A fitting intermission 2.5/5 8. Electioneering - OHH SICK ! Maybe I’m biased because this is more hype than the rest of the album and I’m just having a shock moment but I’m definitely enjoying this. It is one of Radiohead’s straightforward political songs so it’s no wonder it makes a statement. 4/5 9. Climbing Up These Walls - Gives me Deathconciousness by Have a Nice Life vibes. This is one of Radiohead’s scarier sounding songs, and that’s probably where I was so offset at the beginning. I think the vocals really sell me with this song. It’s reminding me soo much of Bloodhail by Have a Nice Life. 3.5/5 10. No Surprises - Aw man. I fw this song heavy. Very sweet sounding, the lyrics have great double meaning. Glad this is one of their most popular songs and it’s no surprise it is. 4.5/5 11. Lucky - A good song, nothing spectacular but I like the guitar again. 2.5/5 12. The Tourist - Another favourite. It’s being a tourist, duh. Lots of freedom, the rush of curiosity and excitement is felt. 4/5 Overall: 3.4/5 or 68% Fave Song: No Surprises Usually not my cup of tea but it was good. Although I think Radiohead is cool I’ve never actually sat down and listened to any of their music... besides Creep. This was a good way into it though.
controversially as a radiohead fan this is one of my least favourite albums of theirs. there are some huge tracks on it and it is their first steps into producing truly unique music, but i would much rather listen to any of the albums that came after it.
Lots of musical experimentation. Can’t distinguish words on most tracks, a lot sound same
3.5/5 Some known songs, but in general maybeish
Nice
Op zich wel leuke muziek en ik snap waarom mensen dit mooi vinden. Het spreekt mij niet zo aan
Pretty good! This is my first rock album and it wasn't what I was expecting, a lot more laid back than I expected. Only drawback is that I found it hard to really "notice" what the lead singer was saying because it blended in really well with the rest of the band, which isn't entirely a negative. Wouldve liked to see him push his voice to see where it goes. Favourite Tracks: Subterranean Homesick Alien, Karma Police, No Surprises, Electioneer!!, Let Down
please don't kill me, I just didn't like it that much
Rock progresivo bastante monótono
3.75, thought about rounding up to a 4 but couldn't bring myself to do it. Very cool, ethereal and spooky but steady tempos and big bangs.
As the computer said it was just OK
Not too shabby. Need a second listen.
Sort of sounds like Floyd. Don’t recognize any songs. I think these guys sing Creep. Even use the Stephen Hawking voice that’s in PFs song.
instrumentation is crazy
Enjoyed, need to listen again
A good album, but kinda depressing, maybe I wasn't in the right mood for it or maybe it's part of the intention.
Fav Song: No Surprises
Paranoid android i karma police dobri; Generalno solidan
Like early Radiohead but dont get all the hype.okay album with 2 or 3 standout tracks
I’ve always thought Radiohead was pretty good, but overrrated. This is like their pivotal album- Karma Police, Subterrarean Whatchamacallit Blues. It’s pretty good
Some solid songs. Not perfect
Decent song composition but doesn't stand out. Might listen a few more times to understand.
hmmm
It was fine. Didn't listen to the whole thing.
Expectation: -> I think this could finally be the Radiohead album I like. After listening: -> Karma Police gets an A rating from me. Such an incredible song. See, I can appreciate a Radiohead song. I cannot honestly say that I like another song on this album. I'm sure these songs are favorites for millions of folks and I do believe that I can understand and respect that. This band's just not for me. Track ranking: Karma Airbag Let Down No Surprises Android Alien Lucky Exit Tourist Climbing Electioneering Fitter
Сара 2 Марко 2
Overall not that big of a fan. It was fine, I guess? But honestly not something I want to listen to again, not even as background music. Probably a 2 if I had to be honest.
5/10 - it's just too whiny for me
I have heard rave reviews about this album and was keen to finally give it a listen. Whilst I understand that the lyrics were said to depict a dystopian world overcome by consumerism…I have to say I struggle to pick much meaning or distinguish words from most songs evening these specifically so a lot of the meaning was lost on me. Was fine, has not converted me into a fan but can’t say I especially dislike them either. Did not leave much of an impression.
I have never understood greatness of Radiohead. This album didn't enlighten me on this topic.
Definition of caterwauling?
1: 20% MW: 42,5% 2: 90% 3: 60% 4: 50% 5: 40% 6: 80% 7: 0% 8: 20% 9: 20% 10: 80% 11: 30% 12: 20%
escuche 2 canciones y tuve que cambiar pq no me gustó para nada. capaz en otro momento de mi vida me gusta ni idea
1.7/5 I've never understood the fascination with Radiohead and this album didn't do anything to change my mind. A couple of good songs on here but most were pretty average. I enjoyed thier album The Bends more.
I know that this is loved by critics, but I don't get the appeal. I cannot get past Thom Yorke's voice and everything felt bleak.
I cant believe this slbum was so popular. Painful to listen to.
Not for me. Too busy for my taste and singing felt forced
No me dijo realmente nada, la única canción que me gustó quizá fue la de no surprises. Quizá por cómo lo escuché se me hizo un poco molesto el sonido.
Number: 109 Date: 04/21/2026 Artist: Radiohead Album: OK Computer Year: 1997 Genre: Indie Rock Familiarity: Well-versed Rating: Before: ======= Finally, I get a Radiohead album. I'll start off by saying I'm not much of a fan. I mean they are OK, but that's it. Just OK. I've listened to most of this album before and have skimmed through pretty much all of their albums and cannot figure out why people like them so much. Anyways, just so you have an idea of where my head is at, some of my all time favorite music artist are The Fall, Stereolab, and Pixies. I don't actually listen to them that much anymore but used to listen to them a lot. Some of my favorite contemporary artists are Hovvdy, Water From Your Eyes, and Angel Olsen. During: ======= OK, so it's the whining that I have the most trouble with. I find it very difficult to listen to. Three songs in now, it's not getting any better. So to pass the time, my favorite albums from 1997: -------------------------------------------------- Broadcast "Work And Non Work" Stereolab "Dots And Loops" Cornelius "Fantasma" Godspeed You! Black Emperor "F# A# ∞" Spiritualized "Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space" Tarnation "Mirador" The American Analog Set "From Our Living Room To Yours" Bobby Conn "Bobby Conn" Lambchop "Thriller" Ivy "Apartment Life" "Ladies and gentlemen..." is the only one that made it on to the 1001 list. Stereolab and Lambchop are represented, though with different albums. My per song ratings for this album: ------------------------------------ 3 Airbag 2 Paranoid Android 2 Subterranean Homesick Alien 2 Exit Music 1 Let Down 3 Karma Police 3 Fitter Happier 3 Electioneering 3 Climbing Up The Walls 4 No Surprises 2 Lucky 2 The Tourist ----------------------------------------------------- 2.42 WEIGHTED AVERAGE (accounts for song lengths) After : ======= OK, it should come as no surprise that "No Suprises" is my favorite track on the album, still, I have it ranked number 27 on my 1997 list, between "Sporting Life" by The Sea and Cake, and "The Sportsman" by Bobby Conn. Seeing how Radiohead has 7 albums on The List, I have to give this one a very low score for suitability, by policy. If your still reading, I hope you take one thing away from this review and that is that you must listen to Bobby Conn's self titled album, "Bobby Conn", also released in 1997, if you want to hear something completely different and original. In fact, I think I'll listen to it now. It will be a nice change from all the whining I have just endured. So, for OK Computer: --------------------------------- 2 my personal rating 1 suitability for this list 4 impact ---------------------------------- 2.3 composite rating
Ok ish. A few classics and a lot of meh
Meh, not that bothered about this album. Too metallic sounding.
Meh at best
I thought they were going to deliver again, and they did, but it belongs in the toilet. 2/5
Some of the music here is interesting, particularly paranoid android, but god damn the breathy sustained vocals are so annoying
Eine britische Band, und so tönt sie auch
ok computer i get it you’re sad
Meh. Weird
Style over substance
Could not connect with this Radiohead album.
Overall this album felt very one-note. Many of the songs sounded exactly the same, with little variety.
Not for me at all. Could see these songs in the background of like spy movies. The computer vibe and electronic sound just threw me off. Maybe after a couple of listens this will be better but right now it just was less than meh for me.
3/10
started off bad but there are a few okay tunes in it. 2.5 maybe
I recognize why this album was culturally important. I also think most of it sounds a lot like ‘yeah yeah yeah…. technology empire… yeaaah yeah yeah… android and circuits and government… oooooooh… yeah….’ And I think. It’s not for me. Most of this album was truthfully boring me to tears UNTIL “Fitter Happier” came on and then I just felt dread but like it’s cool that it made me feel that way. Electioneering woke me up!! Good song!! I then immediately went back to sleep. I think there’s sort of this thing that happens with listening to old anti establishment music in the modern age where it was a very poignant thing to say at the time but now it’s like yeah dude I know we’re in a tech dystopia there’s like 8 giant ai companies invading every aspect of our lives and all of them have logos that look like a butthole I did like Subterranean Homesick Alien a lot! Rly cool soundscape
I like some of radioheads material but it is not on this album. Too much whiny
Dod not enjoy
I liked Let Down. Radiohead just sound whiny. Confirmed I don’t like them
Not a Radiohead fan but an alright album
Not my Cup of tea
Excesivamente emo
a masterclass in how to turn a bunch of interesting individual sounds into pulp slurry for egg carton manufacture
Supposedly one of the greatest albums of all time? Maybe I am missing something in the lyrics, but I dont see it
Not my favorite Radiohead album, however, still has some bangers, though they are the more known ones.. Was a fan of "Exit Music (For a Film), "Let Down" and "Karma Police".. Fell asleep through listening to the album, and woke up in a living nightmare, thinking I was going crazy listening to voices that were infiltrating my brain.. it was just the song "Fitter Happier", that actually made me shit my literal pants upon waking up to the voices, the fucking voices!
I think it's only fair to rate it in the middle. I didn't listen to it all what I did hear was meh at best. Rest could have been brilliant guess I'll never know
Not for me
Exit Music, Electioneering, and No Surprises were cool. The rest of that album also happened I guess. I could be meaner if I wanted but I also don’t feel that passionate about my dislike of them, just profound indifference like before.
2/3 no se no he escuchado mucho
Second day in a row of Radiohead ☹️. Still has not changed my mind.
I probably fall into the target audience for Radiohead, but even as a prog lover I just don't get them or the hype. Fairly "meh".
Meh
not my style, too slow
