Reviews (page 14 of 14)
Ironic that right after we get Remain in Light, an album that proves white guys can get funky - we get this stinker. Truly an embarrassing mess, just barely held together by the amazing work of everyone except Mr. Keidis. Highs: Give it away, suck my kiss Lows: the rest
I was a little biased when going into this, but the Red Hot Chili Peppers are just awful
1.5
This is the 134th album I’m rating. I don't think I've listened to a song by the band surprisingly. Adding to my Playlist - Nothing. Not Adding to my Playlist - The Power of Equality, If You Have to Ask, Breaking the Girl, Funky Monks, Suck my Kiss, I Could Have Lied, Mellowship Slinky in B Major, The Righteous & the Wicked, Give it Away, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Under the Bridge, Naked in the Rain, Apache Rose Peacock, The Greeting Song, My Lovely Man, Sir Psycho Sexy, They're Red Hot The Power of Equality - I'm going to kill myself after listening to 74 minutes of this especially after that awful Guns n' Roses album. Please get better. Breaking the Girl - The first minute I was like thank God this album isn't complete ass but after listening to more of the song I have no hope left. I Could Have Lied - This feels like a even shittier version of shitty indie. All in all I liked 0/17 songs. Red Hot Chili Peppers sucks. This album is really really bad. Everybody who bought this should be refunded.
The songs are ok. I loved it when I was 15. It hasn’t aged well. And Anthony Kedis is an arrogant prick with an annoying thin voice.
I'm a certified Red Hot Chili Peppers hater, I tried to give this album a fair shot at changing my mind but it didn't
I have never liked RHCP and listening to this album again just reaffirmed that. 1 star out of 5
This album…kinda sucks. I’m sorry to be a terrible music appreciator! I just can’t hear the RHCP sound and not think “corny.” Also all the lyrics are like “I’ve got a cool dick that makes her sick!”
The last one had ding dong ding dang, this has Doobley doo. I thought this would never end. Ding dong diddly shite.
The standard complaint these days is that artists aren't allowed to develop or bed in. If you're first album isn't a hit, then you're out on your arse. RHCP broke through on their fifth album. We could have been spared that had the execs at the time been more parsimonious. You might argue that John Frustciante and Chad Smith were only on his second album. Give them a chance. Were it not for the millions of units shifted, no exec could get behind this music. It is never the one thing it professes to be: funky. It is like they are doing every exercise in the circuit wrong - jerking when the action should be smooth, spasmodic, when they should be controlled. The fluidity of Parliament, James Brown, or Prince is absent and, in its place, a lopsided struggle to lift the weight to their chin. All jerk, no clean. When they're not trying to make that stupid, grotesque music, they really shine. The open-tuned riffing of Breaking The Girl, with its swells of mellotron, could be gorgeous, where it not for Kiedis's awful mugging and juvenile posturing. He ruins everything he touches and, as I understand, he touches underage girls, so he should be made to stop. And this is what it comes down to. There is no fixing or resitting the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The rot remains - that is, Anthony Kiedis in all his noxiousness and Flea's impulse and instinct for lurching funkless funk. That is the totality of the band and fortune or execs might bring in a talented musician like Frustciante or a balancing force like Smith, but the premise was wrong to begin with. The idea was terrible. The foundations unsound. I generally like Michael Beinhorn, but I blame him for polishing the turd of The Uplift Mofo Party Plan. But I get it, he was poor and desperate and desperate men do bad things. 1.5 This album is so very, very boring. I had big ideas, Californication having been considered a couple of weeks back, to write a review comparing BSSM favourably with that album in all kinds of ways but I just haven’t the enthusiasm. This is not songwriting - it’s just the piecing together of grooves from musicians with only one setting and no soul. Above the tick of their meaningless, thoughtless riffing a deviant delivers the same old shtick about his penis in excruciatingly square raps and clumsy melodies. And there’s 73 minutes of this. I want to give this more than the 1 star I gave Californication but after listening to it I actually can’t. 73 minutes. It is undoubtedly better than Californication - I’m sure with an editor there’s a 1.5 star album in there somewhere - but that is moot; both these records deserve to be forgotten and never listened to again. 1/5
Overrated.
What brutal garbage. This shouldn't have existed. I have no idea how they took off. Good bass playing.
Yeah... This one is really bad. It's all over the place. Under the bridge is good, but still one star.
This band sucks
This album seemed to go on for months, realised I didn't have it when I was younger so not even any points for nostalgia. I feel like I have a pretty high tolerance for 'silly' music but so much of it just sounds so stupid (derogatory) to me now, and some of the lyrics are dead iffy. I think the best songs are the 'serious' ones like Under the Bridge and Breaking the Girl, I guess they leaned into that more later on
Such a long album, I was indifferent to most of it, wouldn't go back to it bar 'Under The Bridge'
tão divertido quanto furar o tímpano com um prego enferrujado! eu odeio red hot demais. foda-se esses mano.
Few things underline the inherent cruelty of time’s passage as much as how vibrant this album must have seemed to white rock fans at release but by the time I was cognizant of music less than a decade later, saying RHCP was your favorite band was polite shorthand for saying thanks but no thanks to having a personality.
No standout songs here. Uninspired lyrics. I can't recall any of the songs even shortly after listening to them.
Suck my kiss? That’s a visual I’d rather not put into my brain but there it is. I found no enjoyment in this mess. Flea’s funky bass lines might have worked on a release less chaotic as this. If not for Under the Bridge this is a half star album.
RHCP is hit or miss for me and the majority of this album is a miss. I like the guitar and some of the vocals in I Could Have Lied, but it’s just ok. I can't express how much I hate Suck My Kiss and Give it Away. Under the Bridge is good, but not enough to save this album. 1 Star.
Stupid, long, awful. How they ever got popular is beyond me. And god damn put on a shirt for fucks sake.
Goddamnit, I do NOT want to deal with more tedious white boy ego tripping bullshit. Red Hot Chili Peppers would be a lot more enjoyable if it was just instrumental - Kiedis is awful. AWFUL. If I found this in my household CD collection, I would give it away.
Man alive this band are tedious bores. Growing up as a muso with mosher-adjacent leanings and a passing interest in grungy culture (by which I mean baggy jeans and hanging around Affleck's Palace), it was basically the law to own this album and to consider it the height of subversive cool. But it's absolute bum wash. Under The Bridge, arguably it's only highlight, is a song done much better by All Saints, and is wholly sabotaged by the insane falsetto bits. And these are the facts I'm giving you about the best song.
Answer: They are a bunch of White Guys with a tone deaf lead singer who fail at merging funk, rock and white boy rap. Question: Who are the Red Hot Chili Peppers?
Getitawaygetitawaygetitaway now!
Anthony kiedis is a pedo I know about separating the art from the artist but that's pretty hard to do when the whole album is about sex and being a freak! 0 stars Anthony kiedis you can suck a fat Penis
Man I fucking hate this band so much. It’s even more painful acknowledging the musicianship on display here, and that when pulled away from the Chilli Peppers Chad Smith, Flea, and especially Frusciante have all worked on music I really love. Instead they choose to play this dogshit whiteboy circus funk like they’ve been forced to by Anthony Kiedis at gunpoint.
You know that one person? You want to tell them to shup up even though they aren't speaking. That's this album. Also, fuck Anthony Kiedis.
RHCP is hit or miss for me and the majority of this album is a miss. I like the guitar and some of the vocals in I Could Have Lied, but it’s just ok. I can't express how much I hate Suck My Kiss and Give it Away. Under the Bridge is good, but not enough to save this album. 1 Star.
I do not like Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are the music equivalent to licking an ashtray. That said, I liked the song Breaking the Girl decently enough. And Under the Bridge is good
A mix of funk, rock and hip-hop. Lots of people like/follow RHCP but thisnis not my thing...
Terrible
hate them - frank
Seemed like a parody of Spinal Tap at times Mostly tedious
I might be the only person ever to compare Steely Dan to RHCP, but here goes: They're two of my least favorite bands. Each reminds me of moments in music that feel slimy, dated, elevator-y, and... empty. This is not a knock on either band's supposed virtuosity. In re to RHCP, I can hear Flea's thumping explorations, Frusciante's playful experiments, and Smith's banging earnestness... but they become disparate parts of a discharged sum... and the sum intends to evoke fun but lands flat, farty, and, holistically, meaningless. "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" just sounds silly. Thankfully, based on some of these other reviews, I'm not the only one whose skin crawls when Kiedis opens his babbling maw to atonally scream his greasy, trite lyrics.
Listening to this was a chore. Flea’s bass playing was the only highlight. Did not enjoy the lyrics or delivery. Decent songs include: “Funky Monks” “Under the Bridge” “They’re Red Hot” “Give it Away” “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” “Apache Rose Peacock” “Sir Psycho Sexy” were annoying.
Holy fuck this is what Red Hot Chili Peppers non-hits sound like? This is almost unlistenable, I was struggling after the blowjob song. Holy fuck. I think this is probably the third album I've listened to on this site that I have been completely unable to continue. Garbage album. If you enjoyed this out of nostalgia I get it, but if you came into this album fresh and enjoyed it, get your head checked. Seriously.
Was quite disappointed midway through "Apache Rose Peacock" That I was only 13/19 songs. Music by retards for retards. There is a reason no one knows more than like 3 songs by this sorry excuse for a band. The hits are overplayed and not enough to save this drag of a record, especially if you've ever worked a job that had a site radio stuck on triple M because the old pricks you work with don't like "that doof doof" on any other station. The deep cuts lyrically are like if you took some weirdo band like they might be giants or tally hall and edged a heroin overdose on their lead writer while doing the clockwork orange psycho conditioning bit but instead of violence its just 90s pornography and the goal is not to form a negative association but to make them retarded and unable to get an erection unless they're watching videos of people putting live fish in their ass. The slither of redemption on this album is the bassline, that however, is spoiled by Flea being a gay loser who got assmad when BASED australians made light of the death of his stupidly named friend who he kissed on the lips. shit band if you like red hot chilli peppers go for a long walk in the sonora desert without water seeing as you love california so much.
How is the mixing on this so fucking bad 3/10 Fav tracks - none Least fav - blood sugar sex magik
Ooh, a Beastie Boys tribute band. How cool… There are some quite nice moments hidden away in here, but they’re few and far between. I imagine people who like this probably still think Beavis and Butthead are funny. I found it rather tedious. And clearly far too long.
In his autobiography Scar Tissue, Kiedis described having sex with a 14-year-old fan who was the daughter of a Louisiana police chief, despite knowing her age. He wrote the song "Catholic School Girls Rule" about the encounter.[289] In 1986, Kiedis dated the actress Ione Skye when she was 16, below the age of consent in California.[290]
Hard rock band out of the 90’s-00’s. Mix of good, and bad music. Some strange band members!
this album is either a 1 or a 5. I'm going 1
Just so... bland and soulless. Rubin's production is very good, the actual instrumentals are okay. Flea's bass playing is rightfully acclaimed. But the flow is so terrible, the influences are so hollow, the vibes are just rancid all around. Bloated as hell as well.
Well. Distinctive, at least. … there’s like 30 good seconds on this album. Max. We all know what they are. Rest of this is absolute genuine torture.
1. Rub me wrong and I get pissed 2.Pudding’s sweet but too aloof 3. The twilight of love had arrived 4. There are no monks in my band 5. Chicka chicka dee do me like a banshee 6. Imaging having this little to say but making 72 minutes of lyrical and musical feces anyway. Being a heroin-addicted rapist doesn't make what you have to say deep or interesting. Everyone associated with this should be in Guantanamo Bay.
I really expected something better than what I got. I do enjoy fusion albums; in fact I love fusion albums but only when they are done right. A shitty blend of funk, rock, and rap with no drive that leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Not to mention the nonsensical goofy ass lyrics (take a good look at the lyrics for Sir Psycho Sexy and you'll know) and the mediocre vocal performance. Although some of the production I thought was decent, the guitar specifically for me, and the bass as well but it can not make up for everything that I previously mentioned. Lame ahh album. Top 3 Fav: It's all mid no good songs Top 3 Worst: Sir Psycho Sexy (Easily the worst), Give it Away (Close 2nd), and Suck My Kiss 1.50/5
'Ohh the playing is really good even if you don't like Kiedis's singing and lyrics' WRONG. If anything that makes it WORSE. Like a bag of Skittles brimming with piss.
What a mess
I hate the outro to Under The Bridge, some fun tracks even though nothing stands out at all. Mediocre record and waaaay too long. Although Flea is a bass beast, his talent doesnt pay off the bad songwriting and how forgettable this is
I wanted to give this an honest try but don't want to ruin my music recommendation algorithm... I cannot stand the vocals of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and it spoils any cool grooves or musicianship that's trapped beneath. Repetitive and off-key, I cringe just imagining the vocals. I also really dislike the part of Under the Bridge where they have a chorus singing the same part an octave up from the lead singer. I feel like the singer has an incredibly small vocal range (I cannot stand the way he sings "partner") and yet the chorus is also too high and it's just a discordant cacophony that grates on my ears. Would be a much better song sang by someone else.
I love Rick Rubin, but I do blame him and this album for having to be subjected to the Red Hot Chili Peppers far too often in the last 30 years. Before this album, they were just a weird funk-metal band that no one outside of niche skateboarding circles really gave a shit about. When this album dropped, you couldn't get away from it. It was EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. Initial reaction; when they stick to sophomoric heavy funk they are in their element. It's fun. It's catchy. It's played well. Too often though they have decided to "get serious" on this album with tracks like Breaking the Girl and Under the Bridge. Quite simply, it shuts down any flow the album seems to be establishing, every time. I understand that these were their breakout singles and helped propel them into the forefront of mainstream rock, but as far as the album, it just doesn't work. Couple that with this being about twice as long (OK 3x) as it needs to be and you've got the recipe for a rough afternoon. Additionally and most importantly, Kiedis is the weak link here. Cut the vocals on the better parts of this and it's really solid and innovative funk. Kiedis ruins that EVERY time he opens his mouth. The lyrics are garbage. The delivery is worse. He's like the class clown that you couldn't stand to be around for more than 5 minutes in high school. Jesus Christ, if you can get through the final two tracks of this shit sandwich without wanting to do serious harm to yourself or others, you're a better person than I am. I'd like to give this 0 stars and if at all possible, erase it from history.
do not like this style of music. so overly hammy
I just listened to Massive Attack before this. This is the same thing but with an annoying band instead of annoying synths. The shitty raps, the shitty lyrics, the obnoxious attitude... it's uncanny. The only thing missing is an *almost* good female singer, but don't worry Anthony Kiedis chimes in with his not-good-enough singing voice. This is tiresome and I'm only three tracks in. I didn't have much faith I'd enjoy this, and I clearly wasn't being harsh.
I'm not sure if this is fair because I did enjoy under the bridge but I just hated this so much more than I anticipated. Too long and too self-indulgent. Took me days to get through.
a band that I know is terrible, and is somehow always worse than I imagine them to be. in the few fractions of a moment where they're not trying to play stunted adolescent funk there's a tiny bit of the cooler melodic parts of John Frusciante's lead guitar. most of what he can do well ended up instead of Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt, which I don't know anymore if is Good but is Cool For Guitarists. the world is a worse place for having this album in it. music: despised. (⌐■_■)
I was optimistic that an appreciation for Musicianship would carry this beyond my general attitude towards RHCP. Then the returns diminished more and more with every song. Then Sir Psycho Sexy came on, second last song. That’s all I have to say about that. Except for: this is meant to be one of their good albums, eh? Jesus.
Firstly this is a biased response as I cant stand this band. Terrible live, awful sound and terrible music. This was always going to be a tough listen for me. Wrestling music, the type of music at every festival or school event. the only saving grace on this is under the bridge. Favourite song: Under the bridge Least favourite: Everything else. Album artwork: Crap.
No
This album feels too long, there are several songs that I think could have been cut shorter/removed. It also doesn't help that I only like the Red Hot Chili Peppers' hits. The sound overall is fine, its going for a rap/funk rock. Most of the time I just dislike how the main vocalist sounds on tracks like If You Have To Ask. I prefer the softer less heavy tracks like I Could Have Lied, Breaking the Girl, and Under the Bridge
Not my thing. Didn't enjoy it.
The only good thing about this record is that I can’t imagine disliking another record on this list more so it should be all up from here.
i felt like i needed a shower after this one. incomprehensibly stupid lyrics. it feels like everyone is just trying their best to get funky and then anthony kiedis has an insurmountable urge to make it about being a gleeful sex offender. i don’t really know how it could get any worse than this so i am awarding a very early one star rating
Made me laugh. I pray the funk will make me freak. etc
Never loved them
Sorry, that is not music
Too long. Last 2 songs were the worst 2 songs
Quoi sauver? “I could have lied” a un riff qui marche pas mal, “Under the Bridge” est OK mais bon, ça ne sauve pas le reste.
Bought it when younger. Played it seeking understanding and clarity, Failed to really connect with it then. Failed to really connect with it now. I hear it and can kind of enjoy it, but its an effort. I think the type of rock that it is is not my rock, and its not the type of music I actively seek out. Is it good music, not my music, not my good music. Thanks for the memories. I never noticed the CD getting swiped by someone who liked it more than me, good on them for taking it. I hope it gives you all the joys you deserve. For me, its none of them. Will not be seeking to listen to again.
Some of the music is really good, but lyrics from a sexist, horny preteen inside a grownups body are so damn cringy and on top of that is Kiedis just a really mediocre singer, so this has definitely not aged well.
Oh sweet Jesus. Oh god it's 73 minutes as well. Do I have to? What, a 3.56 average score, what the hell is wrong with you people? Let's get on with it. I like the odd RHCP song, but they are a band exclusively to be enjoyed in small doses only. Lol 2 tracks in and I'm already cringeing hard. White boy hip hop are we now Chillis? Breaking the Girl sounds more like Pearl Jam except with flutes. This one is tolerable. Not bad actually. Funky Monks is laughable and Suck My Kiss is garbage. I went to make a coffee. Several more tracks. Oh god it's all so bad. And mind-meltingly dumb. When is Under the Bridge? I need heroin myself to get through this. I don't mind Give it Away, at least that is passably funky. Sir Psycho Sexy, please please give it a rest, you are not, I repeat NOT Sly and the Family Stone. So. That's 3 songs out of 17. Oh that's a big old one star lads.
Texty naprosto debilní, hloupý a někdy vyloženě nechutný a slizký, zejména v kontextu toho, co frontman všechno provedl. Nejlepší: Under the Bridge (jediný, co mi nepřišlo příšerný) Nejhorší: Breaking the Girl (country, wtf, sus), Suck My Kiss (yuuuck), Give It Away, Sir Psycho Sexy (tohle mě sralo tak, že jsem to fakt musela přepnout) → PROSTĚ VŠECHNO, TFUJ Verdikt: 0,5/10 (nejhorší album, co jsem zatím tady slyšela, půl bodu jen za jednu písničku a že to ve mně dokázalo vyvolat takovou reakci)
I was hoping for better music from this subscription. So far, just mediocre pop. How about some GOOD music?
F RHCP. I was forced to listen to too many songs from this when it was on the radio. I really can’t stand listening to the same song done slightly differently each time. They are singularly responsible for any dislike I have for California. We get it, you love California. Stop it already.
Didn’t listen. Don’t like RHCP
Suck my ?
Just gives me big Kyle energy. Like I want to shotgun a monster and punch a wall. Like this is what I imagine goes on inside the head of a 11 year old iPad kid who's parents let them roam. I just don't like the peppers no matter how many chances I give them. Shout out to the worst song I've ever heard in my life 'Sir Psycho Sexy' I'm not a prude or anything but it's just an 8 minute horny ass rant with the worst synth bass I've ever heard. Favorite song: Naked in the Rain
Still don't like Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I listened anyway just in case maybe I was mistaken. I wasn't :)
did not like
Gefällt mir nicht
My phone was stolen during RCHP at ACL Fest 2017 so that’s something about this band that I’ll always remember. Under the Bridge is the only somewhat okay song on this album.
There's something about this band that just turns my stomach. I never understood the hype or the fanbase. Although, I'd rather listen to this than Everything but the girl...
I do not like this band and making me listen to them for over an hour made me very unhappy. 2/10
I will not listen to this album. I really can't stand the vocal stylings of the lead singer. Not to mention the misogyny. cringe city. no stars, but I can't seem to remove the one I added.
absolutely no
More like Green Mild Shishito Peppers.
Sex magik on dirait le nom d'une chanson de Keen'V J'ai pas tout écouté mais j'ai vraiment pas aimé 😳 j'ai du passer la moitié des chansons quand elles duraient + de 3min mdr
wow. i hated everything about this. kind of impressive honestly.
Absolutely not.
LOL scuffed
Under the Bridge is a great song. But it is the one that sounds very unique on this album, unlike all the others. With some of these albums it just sounds like a blur, gray noise, and it just becomes background noise and I don't pay attention. This was the first album where I actively thought, a handful of times, Jesus H please turn this off. Sounds like the album of a methed out guy in his early 40s in Venice Beach rocking out while digging through a trashcan. I had fairly high hopes and they were quickly deflated.
Similar beat through out. Not a great variety or creativity...
💩
I hated this
There sure are a lot of redeeming qualities to this record, but god on the whole this was a slog. Lyrics uniformly pretty bad, which i just can’t get over, and this is a long album, defo could be half the length and that would help a lot!! 1/5
Shite
Genuinely don't think there will be a worse album on this list.
I really like the instrumental parts but Anthony Kiedis really ruins it for me. Like REALLY ruins it for me.
Ça me répugne
I’m a pretty big Pepperhead and I fucking hate this album. I don’t understand the love it gets. I’ve heard this album numerous times since high school and to this day the only song I truly enjoy is Under the Bridge. Everything else is annoying or creepy. Not the RHCP album, man. 1
No, never RHCP.
Just the worst
Did not like
hated this, terrible album, terrible music, terrible band
Holy shit this sucks. This band sucks, it's crass and bad and flea isn't even that good the bass is just mixed loud. Took me 3 days to finish this. 0/5
Einfach Nein.
Awful. 0/5
two albums into the Red Hot Chili Peppers (with Californication being one of the most abysmal first listens of my life), and i am confounded as to how they managed to pass as anything truly listenable, unless done with the greatest amount of irony — a band people would love to laugh at, not with. there’s hardly a lyric here worth paying attention to: the most consistent thing about RHCP is their shallow, oft banal wordplay that is so grating, causing brain cells to dissipate at a rate faster than the time it would take to roll one’s eyes. the album clocks in at 79 minutes, and gosh they are excruciating. every song has a pace that drags, and six songs into the record, all i want is for it to be over. granted, Blood Sugar Sex Magik has more going for it than Californication — it’s compositions more assured, and the bass more lively, and it manages a semi-decent song in “Under the Bridge” — but it is such a deliriously low bar to clear that it doesn’t ring as a complement in my mind. Californication came years after this, and it’s insane how RHCP clearly never evolved past their frat-boy, pubescent style of songwriting. i just hope i never have to undergo the torture of listening to even one more word out the mouth of Kiedis ever again.
I've made some bad musical decisions in my life, but never caving into the temptation of buying this album - or any Chili Peppers album - isn't one of them. If I had any revelation upon listening to this it's that I can't place all of the blame solely on the vocals of Anthony Kiedis. His voice has always, always bugged the crap out of me (yes, before it was cool to hate him) and I always wondered if they would be better with a different signer. But now I have the opinion that I probably wouldn't like this band no matter who was singing for them. I know Frusciante seems to get a pass because he does some cool stuff on the guitar, has a solo career, was a junkie, etc. But more times than not anything funk-adjacent on this record makes me cringe before Kiedis even opens his mouth. So, there's blame to go around. I liked "Breaking the Girl" and, surprisingly, "Give it Away." Whatever's happening on those two songs at least feels like the band is in unison. But the rest is a complete pass for me. And maybe I told this story already, but I saw them headline Lolapalooza 1992 (right after Ministry, which is just wild to think about) and... I had fun! So, I'm not too cool to dislike this band entirely, but I am too cool to like them on record. If I'm going to be subjected to silliness, I suppose it works much better on me visually in the same way I don't want to listen to a Benny Hill record, I want to see that shit.
ew except one song
Refused to listen.
I didn’t know I hated the Red Hot Chili Peppers so much until listening to this album.
Comfortably the worst band of all time.
Not today Satan
no. if you listen to RHCP you go to the bad place
Under the bridge är ju bra, fan vad störigt allt annat va
“I'm forever near a stereo saying, 'What the f**k is this garbage? And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers.” - Nick Cave. Couldn't agree more.
Couldnt even finish it.
Y'all. This is not good. Nothing about this is worthy of a listen. It has no redeeming qualities. If this is your jam, I don't know what to do with you, brodude. I just don't know.
I don’t give a shit abt this kind of music unfortunately.
I have no interest in hearing Anthony Kiedis clumsily rap about what gets him hard for even one minute, let alone 73. The singles are fine, but the album drags. Not for me. One for the Cali kids.
Way to long bunch if funk rock infused jams. Which has been done better before and since. The album was just long tedious and repetitive.
I like to think that this band is actually an extremely elaborate joke.
Nope
Terrible overrated band
an album full of testosterone and nervous energy. the relentless crack of the snare drum is exhausting. the whole thing feels very agitated.
Under The Bridge feels v out of place on here. Mostly shite.
Puuh, ei kyl lähe. Jotenki ylisaturoituneet melodiat ja samalla täysin sieluttomat biisit. Menettelee jossain baarissa taustalla, mut ei kestä kuunnella tosissaan. Lyhyempänä antaisin ehkä 2/5, mut näin ylipitkänä meni jo tuskaiseksi.
Under the Bridge aside this album is the same song on repeat for over an hour. How this band became so successful is beyond me. I would have given it a 0/5 if possible.
I try to keep open and have heard new and different music I’ve enjoyed..but this is just noisy garbage not worth the time of day…but to each his own
I didn't like it
This isn't the one with the psychic spies from china
Under the bridge is a good song
una verga
I know I don't like RHCP but I listened to a few songs anyway. This is just bad.
this is horrible music for horrible people
yikes man
Urgh.
this is turd. so turd that i was relieved when give it away came on, which is the opposite of what i'd usually feel.
Dogshit
Production: 4/20 Songwriting: 3/20 Innovation: 6/20 Bangers: 0/20 Emotional response: 0/20 =13 What a load of TOTAL fucking shit.
Oh god, it's so lame. Just four white dudes doing "funk" and occasionally there's a good song in there. Clocking in at 70 minutes, this album way overstays it's welcome. I want to listen to anything else. Closer to 1.5 to gets a 1 for punishment's sake.
Under the bridge good. The rest cringe
liked it as a kid, hated it now.
Rubbish. Cheesey and embarrassing.
Just boring, honestly. And drags for over an hour. The 1 is an overreaction, but I don't have one of those yet.
