meh
not bad, not my favorite thing; at times, it sounds like nickelback could be the ones doing it, and i don't like that. no track feels truly remarkable for me, some guitar solos are cool and at times it gets bluesy and interesting; again, it's not bad, and i would've loved it if i had heard it earlier in my life when i listened to a lot of Bowie, but now i personally still very much prefer roxy's sound in the 80s.
Bit all over the place
Good first song.... downhill after that.....
Done.
Ok
Okay... not for repeating.
Apparently I find roxy music a bit dull. Second 2 for them
This was okay actually. Nothing was brilliant. But perfectly fine.
First of all hugely confusing but great cover! Need to try and rate this on its own merit, rather than against the glory that was purple rain. It has its moments (couple of decent rock songs and "if it takes all night" is great) but then goes off in german at which point i began to struggle. Brought it back a bit with "a really good time" & "Praire rose". But more that i don't like then i do here. 2/5
Not particularly interesting, except for the German bit.
This did not really speak to me in any way. It was fine from beginning to end. I know Brian Ferry and David Bowie get compared a lot, and I just don't hear it.
Eh. Cover art to the album was the best part of it.
Kind of a random mix. I enjoyed the once over, but not something I'd listen to again. Felt folk/punkish
Ummmm, disjointed, boring... first album I couldn’t finish.
Not terrible, nothing special?
A bit too pompous and not many standout songs.
‘70s rock, this should’ve been right up my alley, but sadly I didn’t like a single song.
Nah man lmao
This was not what I was expecting. I didn't care for it.
Not for me. Great musicians I can tell, but too weird for me
na un asco de album
Nothing new here
Art rock and glam-tinged pop built from sharp guitars, sleek bass lines, icy keyboards, and stylized vocals feels like walking through a high-fashion magazine shoot staged in a decaying aristocratic manor—seductive at first glance, taking a closer look overly controlled, artitical and in its repetition alien. The sound is meticulously arranged yet emotionally damp, constantly balancing elegance with underlying tension. Its polished surface fascinates at first while the whole thing keeps the listener at a deliberate distance.
not my favourite.
Nothing special
What in the easy listening hell was this? I cannot stand Brian Eno, and I, clearly incorrectly, thought I might like a Roxy Music album he has nothing to do with, but somehow this was worse. This has been described as their most “consistent” album, and I guess that means consistently boring. At least other Roxy Music stuff I’ve heard is different, even if I didn’t like it. But this was plain. Music like this has been done better by countless different artists. The vocals were lifeless and the instrumentation was bland. “A Really Good Time” was the only decent song on the album, but when I listened to it again I couldn’t remember what made it stick out to me in the first place. An absolute waste of an album.
Beer, rednecks, MAGA, and pigshit? No thanks.
Snoozefest. Three and Nine song is interesting, sounds like a chill spring day, but i wouldnt listen to this album again. Nothing is really memorable for me.
The first song sounded like Car Seat Headrest it really threw me off. Not my kind of music, tbh. Fav song is ‘If It Takes All Night’.
I just can’t get into them. I think the vocal and musical delivery are too similar or something, I find it boring, nothing hooks me.
Torn. On one hand that album cover should mean it gets a 10. But then I listened to the music and it deserves a 1. Decisions, decisions...
Genuinely was bored the whole time. It’s not my thing. It simultaneously sounded too theatrical but also too unoriginal.
"Oh dear, this album is not very good, is it? Better put some tits on the cover to boost sales."
So many of the artists I like from my youth list Roxy Music as a great influence so I was interested to hear this one. It was just Meh.
Wow that was annoying. I tried to like it but really struggled. There was only one track that grabbed my attention.. for a while, then it immediately went full circus/cabaret mode (who likes that?). Then I went on to check the notes and sure enough, its Brian Eno. I have no idea why but the fact that his albums are so revered and I really can't find any enjoyment in them baffles me.
🙅♂️

Not for me. It's for someone tho
Always thought they were overrated, and neither the sexploitation cover or the music changed my mind. The 7os was definitely the Decade Taste Forgot.
Rating: 0.7 I think anyone who makes “sophisti-pop” or uses that term should be strung up by their toes and pelted with rocks.
This was unremarkable. Truly wasn’t worth the listen. I found myself wondering why I was listening to it, and I had only made it a quarter way through.
Absolute dog shit. Fuck you for making me listen to this.
Not for me. 1/5
Not a fan
Besides the album cover, there's nothing going for this album
British rock is either some of the best music there is or this. And this is a really hard listen
It's fine. 2 stars.
My interest in this band is stark. Only thing that kept me going was the mention of Brian Eno, who has already left the band by this point. Probably for the best.
I understand the impact, as far as it being something I would listen to ever... No.
Completely unknown band for me. Like the cover, the music not so much.
1/6
At best this album was boring and just about listenable. A few songs were awful, and really not a fan of the vocals.
This record is famous for its cover. Nothing to see here...
⭐️
This feels like an unfair one.....and yet I never want to hear this again.
I didn't really like this one
It's like a bad Bowie impression. Didn't enjoy it and promptly forgot it.
No, not my favorite genre. That Zappa/Bowie/Who vibe has never appealed to me. Too screechy and contrived.
Just more bland British Rock music. I'm beginning to think the majority of these thousand albums are gonna be this kinda milquetoast sleepy stuff.
I don't like this. It doesn't sound like music.
this wasnt hitting
Bad
Pathetic album cover. Couldn't support the absolute exploitation of the female body.
Not that good.
3 albums of this band is way too much for the list.
argh go away
Tried, couldnt.
The cover is off-putting. Not going to listen.
Meh
Definitely 70s and not good at all
Brit rock pop. Meh.
I feel like i could really read a magazine to this music in the office of some less-travelled doctor, like a podiatrist. This album seems unexceptional in every way. I think someone on the panel must be a huge Brian Eno fan. 1.1
This one didn’t do it for me. Not really my sound. There were a few songs that had some decent parts, but not enough for me to want to download them.
Not my style
Weird not not characterful enough to pull it off
Not necessarily to my liking.
did not like it.
I dont know and i dont care.
En mä nyt aivan täysin ymmärrä tätä. Tällaista showmusiikkia. En oikein jaksanut kuunnella loppuun.
Not for me. Nothing really clicked.
I dunno man. It's of an era. Made it through 7 of 10 tracks and wanted to break my stereo. Did not jive.
Nah. 3 songs in knew it wasn’t my thing.
Bro it just sounds like lame rock to me
Not really a fan of this one. Most of the 70s rock I enjoy is on the heavier side. I thought the lead vocalist was interesting, but the musical side of it wasn't very appealing to me.
1 I don’t like how he sings.
Still, nope. It's as if Dracula wanted to try his hand at a rock'n'roll album.
Didn’t really care for it
Cabaret music with a ponderous singer. Maybe you had to be there.
Midddd
Strange and Old 70s music.
nah
Didn’t like
Nothing special . I’m sure in the 70’s it sold only due to the album cover. Gods marketing nothing special in musical enrichment
Couldn’t do it.
Arty farty rock
So boring I don’t remember anything but the album cover.
Boring
такое
Blé
Just boring nonsense. 2/10.
Meh
