Atlantis to Interzone Golden Skans Gravity's Rainbow It's Not Over Yet

Much of Mtonf feels as if it is forcing itself upon you and lacking of genuine substance. Obnoxiously overdriven riffs and mediocre melodies. 1.5/5

I really disliked listening to this. Generic, dime-a-dozen 2000s indie rock. Not sure why it's on this list. Maybe because it feels like something an old person thinks young people listen to.

Did not listen

Listened to 1.5 songs and my Thanksgiving drive was ruined for 7 minutes

boring! corny! songs for bad TV

Barely listened

Entirely too repetitive. Boring.

too clever. its like dog shit mars volta

Ok, idk uninspiring. Some of it was cool. Not a huge indie dance fan but it was quite spacey which was cool. Fav = golden Skans

I don't know what this is and have never heard of this band before, but this doesn't seem like a list-worthy record.

Not much to this.

Cacophonic music, high pitched vocals. Both irritating to me.

Oli jotenkin niin ärsyttävää musiikkia, varmaan todella trendikästä, mutta ei iskenyt yhtään. Kolme biisiä alusta riitti tällä kertaa. 1/5.

Not for me at all. Not my genre, whatever genre(s) this might fit. Based on the music, 2 stars Based on my listening preference- 1 star Listened before: N Saved to library: N Favorite tracks: ⭐ That's all folks

Not familiar with Klaxons. Well, this is definitely is not helping my headache. The more I listen, the more I hate it. Yet another band I'll have to instruct Deezer not to recommend... Listened before? N Saved to library? N Favorite track(s): N/A ⭐: Hated it.

Best thing I can say about it is it’s unique and interesting. Hated the production, sounded like a wall of crunchy sound. A bit nu-punk? Wouldn’t listen again, maybe one song I enjoyed most of.

I actively disliked this and it ruined my morning.

Bemused at the number of 5* ratings this dreary album has attracted.

This SUCKS.

This album is just plain annoying. 1 star or F.

Franz Ferdinand Becks Odelay Prodigys Invaders must die Radioheads Ok Computer Mix it all and out comes this monstrosity. It was a chore to listen to.

Awful.

I read about these guys a lot during the time this album came out. They were sort of in the orbit of some of the other bands that I listened to. But listening to it now, it just sounds like pretty frantic, coked-out music from some Brits. Maybe I would’ve liked it in another life but today, it just kind of grates.

Feels like they took the formula for early 2000's English indie hits and just painted by numbers the whole album. Nothing exciting, nothing new, not my cup of tea.

Two tracks in to "Myths of The Near Future" I suddenly found myself transported to a Glasgow HMV in 2007. It's spring, the days are longer, the birds are singing and I'm 17 again. The shelves in front of me are full of the newest releases from carbon-copy, indistinguishable British indie bands. In fact, one of them is playing through the store's sound system. It could be Klaxons. Fear sets in. What if I'm stuck? What if I have to live through the 2000s indie boom again?? "Get me out of here," I scream. "The music is terrible and I've never known the touch of a woman! GET ME OUT OF HERE!! I DON'T WANT TO BE BACK HERE!" ... It's track 4 and I'm back in the year 2025, blessed is God. This wasn't good in 2007, it isn't good now.

A klaxon is defined as an electric horn or a similar loud warning device. The Klaxons sound like a klaxon, inspiring the same urge to vacate the premises. Not my cup of tea.

Never heard of them. I wish I could continue to say that. Obscure indie rock. Boring, but in a loud, in your face, obnoxious way that means you can't just leave it on as background music. Why is it even on this list? 1.5 - Golden Skans isn't too bad, and there is a minute here and there with decent music and no noise. It gets rounded down to 1 because, while not completely terrible, the annoying parts are VERY annoying.

Noisy Y2K screamo punk.

Apparantly this was released a week before I left the UK. There exists a parallel universe where I hear this album the day before my flight, fall in love with it's Ballard n Burroughs reference points and instead decide to stay and become the No.1 fan of their self-monikored "New Rave" scene, having it large at the NME New Rave Revolution Tour with the Klaxons, SHITDISCO and Datarock. Except..it's terrible....this feels and sounds like the last stand for Indie Rock Bands, a mix of all the worst parts of all those that went before - how the f*ck it won the Mercury that year (vs. Back to Black amongst others!) will remains a mystery, they must have had serious Kompromat on the judges!!

Absolutely fucking woeful.

This was a very mid album. Like everything else

Unemorable really. I don't love it, i don't hate it. It'll go down to me as just some more noise. Not quire sure how this made it on the list - but it didn't really do anything for me.

Was expecting britpop, the starting beat made it seem somewhat promising, but then they started singing. AND THEN THERE WERE ACTUAL KLAXONS. Please just stop.

Dit was echt zo niet mijn ding, ik ben persoonlijk verbaasd dat zo iets in een lijst van best albums ever staat. Ik kom er gewoon niet bij met mn hoofd

Shitty

Not my cup of tea

More terrible British noise.

Not for me

Something about this just doesn't click. It has elements of a poppy indie band but the sound just doesn't click. Some TV on the Radio, Some arctic monkeys, but none of it works for me.

yeah this is a fat no for me

Really irritating

Not good. Lotta heady track names here for what amounts to some seriously trite schlock.

Another British band from 2007 I’ve never heard of. Well, 2006 is a big blind spot for me so let’s see…. Did the guy who made this list have a brother in this band? Was he sleeping with the bassist? Why is this here? This is the forgettable background music you heard in British Abercrombie stores in the early 2000’s. There is no need for this to be on the list. Even other albums that didn’t “do it” for me I could see why they’re there. This baffles me.

Heard of the Klaxons but never consciously listened to them. Gave it a listen but nothing in it for me. Very underwhelming and wondering how it made the list. Appeared on my list on same day I went to watch Bob Marley biopic One Love at cinema. What a chasm in musical talent between the two. Bob Marley by no means a favourite of mine but musically he’s light years ahead of the Klaxons and similar wannabes.

Boring, dated, nothing new or interesting here. So, so dated.

Hey dawg, I heard you liked distortion so I added some distortion to your distortion. I'll be honest with here - this is absolutely atrocious. If it wasn't for Bob Dylan or The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter, this might be a strong contender for "worst album on the list". Even their cover of "It's not over yet" is terrible, and that's the least bad track on there. Utter, absolute asswater.

I stopped listening after 30 seconds of the second song. Not ny cup of tea. Enjoy.

Nu Rave was an abomination

This self-proclaimed new rave music is not my cup of tea. It sounded noisy and not pleasant; I give this 1 star.

I suspect that I won't be rating this beyond ⭐⭐. Correction: ⭐ max So happy it's over. _______________________ Saw this on someone's review and will try to follow that lead. Number of albums left to review: 994 Number of albums from the list I found relevant enough to be mandatory listens: 3 Albums from the list I *might* include in mine later on: 5 Albums from the list I will certainly *not* include in mine (including this one): 2

Never heard of them. Glad I didn't.

Not good

Generic, consumer friendly, brit-pop rock or whatever. The sounds dont make me want to finish it, so thats a +1 star. It does sound like the most regurgitated album I have heard on this list so far, and its definitely not "have to listen to!" material.

Haha. Absolutely not.

Not my cup of tea.

Sanoisin, että aika perseestä. Oli ehkä fresh ilmestyessään, mutta ei ole millään kestänyt aikaa. "Another result of Dimery's obsession with showcasing the UK at any cost". Jepp.

Was struggling to remember what bland and massively overplayed guitar music this lot were responsible for. The first 2 tracks don't really give me any ideas. Then Golden Skans descends like a massive cloud of blandness. There we are.. Weeoooweeoooweeooo - ahh. No ta Weird to have that phasing out/nodding off sensation during such a lively song as Gravity's Rainbow. Ah, It's Not Over Yet is the other overplayed song, that's also got an annoying refrain. Go home lads. Sadly the overplayed guitar music has only got more bland really in the last 15 years. Bring back good guitar music!

Entirely inessential. I love fuzz bass as much as the next man, but beyond Golden Skans, this album doesn't stand up. Very derivative.

my suspicion that this was the big choon followed by lots of annoying crap was a huge understatement 'atlantis to interzonal' literally includes the dj buttons from the keyboard, children, please. the fast bit sounds like im watching the inbetweeners and theres a chase scene or something eugh golden skans as big choons go is actually really annoying. this propensity towards inclusion for all eras is so silly. ladies and gentlemen of the jury, its 2023 now, and i ask you all, who the fuck gives a fuck about the klaxons? fair enough if you were on that drug called being 14 when this song out but still - this is albums to listen to before you d i e - not albums to listen to before you skive history even the album cover is awful, god im so fucking glad that era of aesthetic is over. the fact the have a song called four horsemen of 2012 is so perfectly cringe. in 2007 life was so frivolous we could make novelty about the world ending and the mayan calander our entire identity for just long enough to pass the dull moment. now the world is actually ending. anyway everyone knows the actual four horsemen of 2012 were dawkins dennet harris and hitchens amirite 😎 m'lady 🎩💁‍♂️ jesus its still not over. theres literally also a song called 'its not over yet' just to really rub it in i hate hate hate hate this if you are or anyone you know may be suspected as a klaxon i will find you and give you a chinese burn

oh no.. limpest rock I've ever heard
