Guero
BeckBig fan of this album.
Big fan of this album.
I had never heard of these guys. Enjoyed this album from start to finish.
Love the hits on this album!
Pretty solid! Some great songs on this album.
Truckin' is the best song on the album by far. The rest if pretty good.
Preachers son... classic! Talented artist, but not for me.
Started off strong with blister in the sun. Great first song! Overall, it was fine.
Fun album, I was hoping I would recognize more songs. Overall, it was good.
One of the most overrated bands. I didn't hate the album, but I sure didn't enjoy it.
I didn't know about this one. I know the classic Johnny Cash songs, but had never listened to an album from start to finish. Really liked it! I enjoyed how it was a live album where he made mistakes, he cracked up, he had conversations with the audience. Great album. Will listen again for sure.
What kind of trash is this? So long and so bad. Can I get my time back?
Enjoyed first couple of songs. Then don't fight it, feel it happened. What an awful song. Higher than the sun was good. Inner flight was a bit boring, but made me think of a song that would play in a video game. Nice background music. Come together was catchy, but probably 5 minutes too long. Loaded was kind of funny? Definitely 5-6 minutes too long. Damaged came out of nowhere. Was unlike most other songs. Very early 90s. I'm coming down was 6 minutes that could have been 30 seconds with the same result. This last line sums up the last three songs. Overall, didn't hate it. Not for me though.
Very 90s. Not great, but not horrible! Won't listen again though. I'm like the clock on the wall.
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow. I enjoyed this one! Shocked I knew a song. Catchy music, that I would put on again. I liked their version of Norwegian wood too! It was different, but well done. I also listened to the extended songs. All so different from the originals, but enjoyable! Overall, I really liked this album!
Bunch of awful albums in a row to lead up to this gem. This was one I knew from high school, but it was nice to revisit it. First listen I thought children of the damned and the prisoner were OK songs, kind of a break from great songs. But as I kept listening, I realized how wrong I was. This is a great album from start to finish.
Big fan of this album.
The first listen, I wasnt impressed at first. But then once I got to the second half I really liked what I heard. On the second listen, I enjoyed it a lot more. What a solid album!
Huge fan of the first half of the album. So many hits! Great songs. Second half... Definitely lost me a little with the deep tracks. If the album had ended at kashmir, would have been much better! Because of the second half, I'd rate it 3.5 if I could do half stars, but I can't so I'll round up.
By the sounds of it, this album will get a lot of hate. I didn't hate it. I will never listen again, but it was good background music while working. I'd give it 2.5 of I could. Rounding down.
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Lucratia was a great song!
This album has all of their hits. I had never listened to an AC/DC album from start to finish, and I didn't hate it. I'm definitely not a fan of the band, and I will continue to change the station when they come on the radio. But not the worst.
Such a solid album. Really enjoyed getting back to this one. Great songs from start to finish.
After the first few songs, I would have given it a 2.5/5 (but I would have rounded up to 3). As the album progressed that rating slowly went down. Shakedown on 9th street was pretty good. Overall, just a big nope from me.
I really enjoyed this one! Fun lyrics, classic 90s rap. I wish 'can I kick it' was on this album! I will definitely listen to this album again, and have added some of the songs to my regular Playlists.
Meh. Didn't hate it, but didn't overly enjoy it. Big meh.
Overall, I enjoyed this album. Some songs lost my attention, but for the most part it was really good!
That was a fun album! I had never heard of them before this, and I really enjoyed listening to this album.
I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. Nice background music to work. I didn't even notice but the album had finished and new ambient music started. I'll listen again while working.
Great voice. A bit too much farm emo for my liking.
Not for me.
Nope.
Huge fan of this album. I started listening to it on the train, and unfortunately fell asleep. Not because I wasn't enjoying it, but because I was dead tired. Round 2: unreal. I really enjoyed the last 7 songs. So good.
Overall, I likes it. I thought it would go downhill after take on me, and it certainly did, but not as bad as I expected. I was surprised to recognize a song from the 90s, the sun always shines on TV! Overall, I would have given it a 2.5 if I could. I'll round up because I did enjoy it.
Where's my damn dominoes!? Big fan of Kendrick. I only knew a few songs from this album, and enjoyed listening from start to finish.
Can confirm, the first song was not the finest worksong. I like this album! Many of the songs remind me of the tragically hip.
I wasn't aware that he had solo stuff. I liked it!
I really enjoyed this album! Reminded me of mcnally Robinsons.
It was all right. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. 2.5 rounded up
Rio and hungry like the wolf are amazing songs. The rest of the album... kinda lost me.
I liked this album overall. Very 90s, but some of the songs I added to playlists.
Simple man is absolutely my favourite song by them. This is a great album. None of this sweet home Alabama trash.
She has an amazing voice. I likes this album.
I had never heard of these guys. Enjoyed this album from start to finish.
Handsome dick manitoba! I ended up liking this one. Never heard of these guys though.
Besides the first 9 minutes of the last song, I really liked this one. Go chef! Shaft!
I liked the album more than I thought I would. Unfortunately, the singers voice got to me over time. Two awful songs, united and red, white and blue. I guess red white and blue isn't technically on this album, so that's a positive.
So good!
Not so into the long drum solos, but it was still a great listen. Enjoyed the extended edition too.
So good!
Album took a massive nose dive after like a prayer. Such a good song, and the rest if the album is... trash. Nah, not for me.
Suuuuch a good album. When shine in you crazy diamond is the worst song on an album, you've made an amazing album!
This album ranged from songs I enjoyed, to songs that annoyed the hell out of me. I liked Monk time, thought it was a good start to the album. Shut Up was a bit of both - annoying but also catchy. Boys are Boys and Girls are Choice is a great song. It's a classic. Higgle-Dy - Piggle-Dy - catchy instrumental. I hate you - annoying. Oh, How To Do Now - super annoying. Complications and We Do Wie Du - Annoying Drunken Maria - kinda catchy. Love Came Tumblin Down - I liked it. Blast off and That's my Girl - Very annoying. I would have given it a 2.5 if I could have. I'll round up to 3 I guess.
Solid album! I had never heard of them before, and added some of the songs to playlists. The seed (2.0) is a great song!
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!
Really enjoyed this one! Great voice. Reminded me of music they play at mcnally Robinson. An album I'll go back to for sure.
Really into TV on the Radio. Great album, and happy I listened to it - since I had never heard this one from start to finish. Some songs they kind of lost me. Also, Non-Musical Silence... why was it 4 minutes long?! The songs after that weren't that great - I feel like they should have ended the album at Lover's Day. Still, a great album overall!
I really enjoyed this one! I had never heard anything by Nas, and this was probably a good introduction.
I did like All the King's Men. Seems like I just didn't like hooting and howling and when I'm sleeping. The rest I didn't mind on the second playthrough. The singers voice is kind of annoying. But at times, the band reminded me of Arcade Fire. This is a booty call; my boot up your arse hole. This is a Freudian slip; my slipper in your bits.
Such a good album! One of the earlier ones I have on vinyl. So good!
Such a great album! Two in a row that I have on vinyl. This one is just perfect from start to finish. All great songs, no filler.
They gave us an ABBA album with none of the hits. It was better than I was expecting. This concerns me that we may see another ABBA album though...
Oof. I was excited when I saw it was a Prince album. Oof. After the first two songs it went downhill incredibly fast. What awful songs. And so damn long too.
I was skeptical when it came to a new David Bowie album. It was actually pretty good!
It was longer than necessary. It kind of lost me around Jamaica jerk off for 6 or 7 songs until Saturday nights all right. Good album though! If I could do half stars, I would say 3.5. I'll round up.
I knew a couple songs on this album. That was enough to give it a good rating. Outside of those two songs... meh. Big meh. I'd give it a 2.5 if I could.
Another Primal Scream album... doesn't seem like they deserve 2 albums in the top 1,001, but maybe that's just me. I did enjoy some of the songs. Trainspotting was a good one! On the second playthrough, I did enjoy this album a lot more. It was OK. Very 90's. Solid 3.
OK, so I used to think that kid rock was white trash. I still kind of do, but I didn't hate it. Though I won't listen again. A solid 2.5 round up.
I can't say I was expecting another album by The Specials. Wasn't bad, I can dig it. Not as good as the first one, but had lots of catchy tunes. 3/5
I had never listened to an Adele album from start to finish. Obviously, a very talented singer. I thought it was good! Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.
I was excited about this one. Outside of wouldn't it be nice, sloop john B, and God only know, this was a very meh album.
I had no idea what to expect with this one. Was in the mood for some cool jazz on a Tuesday.
I had heard of a few of these songs. Pretty good!
It's kinda like something they would play at a house of burlesque. I did enjoy it, though!
I only knew one song on the album. But maybe that was a good thing. I liked it!
Considering it had none of their big songs on it... not bad!
Not bad!
I had never heard of Marianne faithful before. Poor man's Stevie nicks. Big meh from me.
I didn't realize that this was a real band. Had never heard anything by them. Big meh.
I had never heard a Bob Dylan album from start to finish. I really enjoyed it!
Not bad. Not a 4, but definitely a solid 3.
I do not like Aerosmith. This album was meh.
John Lennon is great. And the majority of this album is great. Not a fan of don't wanna be a soldier, how do you sleep and oh yoko... those really dragged the album down.
This album... unreal! So good from start to finish.
Never heard of them before. Not awful.
Great background music.
I liked it! I'm torn though. Was it a 3? Was it a 3.5? I'd say 3.5, round down. Tough call. Fun album.
Better than I was expecting!
So good!
The rolling stones suck. Now that that's done, this album wasn't great. I didn't realize that they did a version of "Stop Breaking Down." So did the White stripes, and their version is better. Just meh. 1.5 - I'll round up to 2.
Never heard this album before, but knew the cover. Pretty good! Reminded me a lot like the pixies.
Not terrible. Decent background music. Not good for much else.
This is exactly what I needed today. Super into this album.
Hate the singers voice. Album is all right though.
Another pixies album! Didn't like it quite as much as the last one, but still good.
This was... not very good. Woof.
I enjoyed that one.
Very into this one. Great background music during work.
What the hell was that?
I like the who. This album, besides my generation and the kids are alright, was very... generic? I'd give the entire album a 2.5, and rounding up.
Into it. What a fun album. A bit short, but really good!
Not a 5 star album. But close. Has a lot or nostalgia to angsty 13 year old James.
Meh. Other than 'that thing' this album is completely forgettable.
Very good album. Lost be a bit at the end, but that wasn't enough to take it down too much. I'd say 3.5 round up to 4. Sultans of swing is an unreal song. Mark Knopfler is such a great guitarist!
Ok. I was more into it than I expected
The best album doesn't exi... fuck. Here it is. This album is so good. Embarrassing I don't have this vinyl. Bit I know every word of every song. This is the best album.
I never knew how much I enjoyed black sabbath before this!
Not a night at the opera... but it was great!
14 year old James would have loved this album. 33 year old James... meh. The last half was pretty bad.
I like Bob Dylan, but his albums get a bit old partway through.
Not bad.
Sweet dreams made it a 1.5. Otherwise. Woof.
I was somewhat into this one.
Let the bells ring is OK. Otherwise... not for me.
Bit annoying it wasn't on Spotify... it was on YouTube so at least I could listen. Not for me, it was a bit... raw?
Not the Brian eno that I was expecting from the last one. Not bad, but not great.
Full disclosure: not the kind of music I generally listen to. That aside, obviously the hits are good - but the album goes downhill pretty quickly after soda pop.
So good!
Paul Simon is pretty good. Just gets a bit old after 5 or 6 songs.
Classic Farm Emo™ band. Knew Big Iron from Fallout NV! And El Paso! Classic song about tacos. Otherwise, a lot of the same. Didn't love it, but didn't hate.
Someone needs to tell him that 300 wasn't the Romans... I didn't dislike this as much as the last one. But meh overall. Plus he's just so angry all the time! There were some catchy tunes on this one though. So I would say 2 - 2.5. I'll stick with 2 because fuck Kanye.
I had never heard of this group. It ranged from nice background music to extremely annoying background music. Overall, it was fine.
I only knew two songs going in. Such a great album though! Worth listening to the entire two hours.
I'm interested to hear everyone else's reviews. Do people actually like Bruce Springsteen? I mean outside of New Jersey. They seem to love him there. Everywhere else he just seems to be enjoyed ironically? I don't know. I don't get it. Dislike his voice. Don't care for his music, overall.
I want to like Elvis Costello.... I just can't. It's not great.
Actually not bad. Probably because I remember many of these songs from the radio - Ray of Light, Nothing Really Matters, and Frozen specifically. Much better than the previous Madonna album! Maybe a few tracks too long.
This is a new band for me. I enjoyed the bass!
Had never heard of PJ Harvey before this. Decent album. Including Thom Yorke in a couple songs was pretty great. Overall, not really my kind of music. But not bad.
I got into this album and fleet foxes because I got one of those free cards at Starbucks with a song on it. The song was Mykonos - which was only on their single, unfortunately. I'm not very familiar with anything they did after this album. So I have some catching up to do with their newer stuff. This album is so good! I do think that the album falls off a bit with Meadowlarks and Oliver James, which are OK - but the rest of the album is great! Love the artwork too!
When I first saw this was the album of the day I thought it was Feist. VERY different from what I was expecting when I started listening. Album was all over the place. Overall, I enjoyed it!
Decent. Not my favourite, but not terrible.
The first two songs were king of funny, seemed to not be too serious on the country side. Then it went downhill and got pretty bad. From his voice, he reminded me of Bob Dylan. But otherwise, way too country for my liking.
This album wasn't terrible. Just lots of the same...
This is a great album! Its unfortunate that many of the songs aren't available on spotify (likely Neil Young's songs). Which is too bad, Woodstock is definitely one of the best songs on the album. I was able to find them on YouTube though.
This is a fun album. I was surprised I knew more songs than We Got the Beat (from Rock bank). Good album, overall!
Not my favourite kind of music. Overall, not bad. Nice and short too.
Not really music I would listen to regularly. I enjoyed the album thought!
Love this album!
I like David Bowie... but this album is all over the place. Maybe a bit too eccentric for my liking, overall. Obviously Heroes is a great song though! I guess I'm a bigger fan of David Bowie's hits and not his full albums.
Great album. I knew the first couple songs, which are awesome. The album goes down slightly after that, but us fairly consistent.
Voice kind of got annoying. Not bad overall though.
Not really my kind of music. Not bad overall, and some catchy songs too!
Interesting album. Kind of all over the place, but overall pretty good!
Not as good as the other sabbath albums. Still good though.
Good album. Better songs at the end.
The piano was neat in the first few songs. Not enough to redeem the album. Too much of the same? Lyrically, meh.
Grungey weekend
I enjoyed this album! Not so much of the annoying guys voice.
A bit too preachy... heh heh. But actually, I enjoyed this album. Great instrumentals. Good album, overall.
I liked it! Nice background music.
I enjoyed this album up to Season of the Witch - everything after that wasn't great.
Love CCR! Great album from start to finish.
Mostly great songs! Novacane is by far the worst on the album, but otherwise enjoyed this one.
Such a fun album! Come on Eileen is obviously a classic, but the rest of the songs were enjoyable. I assumed they would be a one hit wonder band and the rest wouldn't be worth listening to... I'm happy that I was wrong!
I like Ray Charles but... over an hour of ray Charles is way too much ray Charles.
Really enjoyed this album. Perfect for a snowy day in Winnipeg.
Not terrible.
Very into this album. Damn. That was good.
Lots of the same. But not bad, overall.
Like the pixies? But bad. Not into this one.
Really enjoyed this one!
It's a lot of Brian Eno. But it is good background music.
ELO is good! Kind of a long album, but enjoyable overall!
This album is great!
OK overall. Time after time and girls just want to have fun are classics. The rest are very 80s.
I didn't really like the first few songs, but it picked up after She's Losing it, and by Electronic Renaissance I was into it!
Just what I was feeling today! Really enjoyed this album.
Not my kind of music. Not terrible? But nah.
A bit too much REM. Drive and Man on the Moon are good. Pretty decent album, overall.
Started off strong with Music. Took a bit of a nosedive. Recognized Don't Tell Me as well. Also What is Feels Like for a Girl. Not my usual music taste, but not bad. Kind of fell off after the hits. The music at the start of Amazing sounded liker stick RPG.
I'm into it
Now Running Up That Hill is going to be stuck in my head all weekend! Running Up That Hill is a great song. The rest is very... 80's. But pretty good! I didn't dislike any songs. Waking the Witch is a weird one.
Ling album... but the hits are great!
The hits are great. The deep cuts... not so much.
Love this album. From start to finish - what a great album!
A Paul Simon album with no hits, where most songs are named after things he sees or his allergies... not great.
What a fun album! Really enjoyed this one. Too bad it wasn't on Spotify!
Great album. Way too long though! Over 1.5 hours to get to Hey Ya! Whats that about!?
I like frank Sinatra... but it's a lot of the same.
Lots of the same sounding. Not bad, but not my favourite.
This was all over the place. After the first couple songs, I thought they were an east Indian boy band. Then they threw in a bunch of genres. Not bad though.
Couple good songs (mothers little helper, under my thumb) but lots or filler. I'd 2.5 it if I could.
I liked it!
Love the doors! Great album start to finish.
Revenge? Of course! But why wound his body with bullets, when I can set his soul on fire with a slanderous mambo? -Tito Puente
Kings of Leon... Guitar - great. Drums - sound good. Bass - awesome. Then the singer starts and it all goes downhill. I do not like that guys voice. like a cat scratching a chalkboard. Otherwise, not bad.
Really into the Duke! Very long album, but so good!
This album is great. Unfortunate that it isn't on Spotify.
Very 80s. Some ok songs. Lots of the same.
Very 90's. All over the place with short songs. Not terrible, but had a very garage band feel.
Really liked this one! Fun band.
I really enjoyed this one. It's a shame it isn't on Spotify.
No she sells sanctuary!? No hits? It was OK.
... What the hell was that?
Not really my kinda music. Not terrible. Maybe a 2.5
What a bad album for the weekend.
Little long, but overall it was good!
So much PJ Harvey! This album was good. Very different sound from the last one, which I think I enjoyed more.
Hell yea! Great album.
Enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would. Lush 3-1 is great!
A blur album without Song 2! It wasn't bad, but got a bit repetitive. I imagine that if I listened to the special edition that was double the length that it would be even worse. Overall, pretty good. Not the one hit wonders I was expecting.
I'm into it
Green Day sucks!
So good!
Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright. Got a good voice, sounds kind of like Thom Yorke. Not bad, but a lot of the same. Won't listen again. That being said, not bad.
Loved the album cover and name. Decent album.
Good ol willie
Big fan of Frank Zappa! Didn't know they did a (mostly) instrumental album. They have great live albums, hilarious. Though sometimes odd lyrically. Great overall though!
Truckin' is the best song on the album by far. The rest if pretty good.
Not bad. Not really my kind of music, but overall OK.
Second chic album. Had their biggest song! Not terrible? Still disco.
I do not remember Eminem being so angry! The hits are great! The rest of the songs, especially the ones about abuse... yikes.
Enjoyed it more than I thought! Even better on round 2.
Never heard of them, but really enjoyed this one! Catchy music, great bass!
This was... unexpected? I figured it would be classic BeeGees and it was not. Surprising. Not bad at all! I'd say 2.5 round up.
Amazing!
Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Maybe a 2.5, but I'll round up.
Hopefully this doesn't bring on another Springsteen conversation. I do not like meatloaf. All his songs are 80% too long too.
The hits are decent. The rest... not so much.
Short album. I really enjoyed it though!
Not terrible, but maybe a bit boring. I would call it a 2.5 if I could. Lowering to a 2.
Can I kick it?
Not bad!
Hear one song hear them all... not bad, annoying voice. 2.5 if I could, round down
Huge fan of the white stripes! It's unfortunate they chose this album - I would rank this as their 4th best album - and I assume it'll be the only one they see. Very unfortunate. Overall, this is a great album! Blue orchid and denial twist are great songs, the rest are decent with some filler. If I had to choose one album by the white stripes, it would be white blood cells or elephant for sure!
I really enjoyed this album! Added a few songs to my playlists too.
Love this album!
Blue suede shoes!
Couple good songs. The rest was a lot of the same. Solid 2.5
A neil young album without the major hits. Still pretty good!
Had never heard of these guys... big fan! This is a great album!
Very 80's... but better than I expected!
Neat!
I like Bob Dylan... but 1.5 hours or him is a lot.
I had never heard of Bill Callahan before, and I really enjoyed this album! Ended up listening to a couple of his other albums too. Albums like this one are why I wanted to get into the 1001 albums!
They kind of sound like a typical opening act. Not bad, but nothing really stands out.
Not a fan of Adele's music, but she is very talented.
Love the hits on this album!
They got their best song out of the way first. Then the rarest kind of sounded the same.
Not for me. Too long with a couple OK songs mixed in.
A joy division album with no hits? Meh.
I enjoyed this one!
Super weird concept album
What the hell was that?
Enough said.
Some good songs, but overall kinda boring.
Not bad!
Love this album!
Some songs were a bit long and tedious, but overall, really good!
Covers were interesting. Otherwise, ok album.
I was nervous about the name, but actually pretty good.
Kind of all over the place. I'd give it a 2.5 if I could.
Not really my kinda music, but not bad.
Ehhhhhh
Pretty solid! Some great songs on this album.
Loved this album in high school. Still quite good!
Nope.
Great album.
It was OK. There are way better prince songs.
It's OK. Solid 2.5.
Never saw the movie. Soundtrack is pretty decent background music.
Actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would!
Mix some generic 80's background music, and a healthy dose of Springsteen's YellSinging™️ and you get this album. I still don't get it. Music to protest the plant shutting down.
Common! I had never heard his music but knew him from Hell on Wheels and Silo. Decent.
Love this album!
Some hit in there, but mostly not. OK I guess.
Nope. Farm emo bad.
Nice voice. Songs all kinda sound the same.
Bono is the worst. Thus album has some pretty good songs on it though.
It's too bad it's not on Spotify (why it took me so long to listen to it). Not a bad album, with a few songs I would definitely listen to again.
Talented for sure, not really my kind of music
One of the better radiohead albums.
Pretty catchy
Not really for me. 2.5.
Weak start. But synchronicity II, every breath you take, king if pain and wrapped around your finger are good songs!
Some OK songs. Annoying voice. I'd say 2.5, but I'll round up.
I like Leonard Cohen, but not listening to an entire album. Good songs generally.
Beautiful people is a decent song. The rest... eh.
Dexys Midnight Runners had more than one album!? Actually, pretty damn good! Lots of catchy songs.
"You know how I know you're gay? Because you like Coldplay." Some ok songs, but overall not for me.
Not for me.
Actually pretty good.
By far my favourite radiohead album. Just great from start to finish.
Kinda boring. Lots of the same.
The hits are good. The rest are... meh. Deep cut tolling stones is nit worth listening to.
Never heard of these guys. Not bad.
As much as I don't love ACDC, all the songs are pretty catchy.
Love this album. Great from start to finish.
Actually enjoyed this album more than I thought. Despite Axl Rose being the worst, and GnR being overrated as hell. Not terrible.
They were OK.
Weird mix of Beck and David Gilmour. Not terrible?
So good.
Unreal!
So good! EVH is unreal. Damn good album for the bands first release.
A fatboy slim album with no hits. Actually, not bad.
Ugh. This guy again.
He just keeps saying he's the Firestarter. Lots of the same? Some decent songs though.
Kinda weird. I was into it.
Ended up really enjoying this one! Never heard of her, good songs. Good album.
So good!
The hits are good. The Beatles cover... woof. Loses a star for that.
Interesting
The prodigy have a second album!? Kidding. Actually not bad.
Couple hits. Rest were OK.
Solid background music.
Gill has a nice voice. Not my style of music, but not horrible.
Eh. Not for me. Kind of annoying after a couple songs.
She has some decent songs. Not on this album though.
This was a good album. Had no idea what to expect going in, and enjoyed it!
Not really my kind of music.
What an awful album.
Very odd album. Not bad though.
Started poorly, but got a lot better. Ended up listening a couple times and enjoying it.
First 3 songs or so are good. Then you realize they all sound the same. Exactly the same.
Maps is an ok song. The rest... not s'much.
Enjoyed it more than I thought... even after listening to the 3.5 hour version. Good background music.
Very 80's. Great singer, not bad music. Wouldn't listen again, but worth listening to once.
Not really for me
The man who what?! Kind of boring. Nothing special overall.
Pretty good! Would be a fun band live.
Rod Stewart sucks. This album was OK.
I had never listened to a full Jay Z album before. Not bad, 2.5 for sure. I didn't realize Izzo was by JayZ. Brings me back to the junior high dance days.
Fit and you know it is a classic - I think from FIFA? Otherwise, it was fine. Won't listen again. Spoiler: at least he found is thousand quid.
Woof.
What an annoying album.
Never listened to this album. Enjoyed it!
I'm into it!
Had never heard of them. They were OK. 2.5 maybe.
Considering how much I like the White Stripes, it's surprising that I never really got into Jack's solo and other bands until recently. Solid album, overall. Some of his newer stuff is better, but a few of these are his solo hits.
Like the last Goldfrapp album, had to listen to it a couple times and I really enjoyed it on the second listen. Great background music. A bit odd. A few songs sounded like James Bond theme songs, which I thought was pretty cool.
A bit artsy for me, but good background music. I will give Bjork more of a chance with their other albums. Good overall though.
Actually pretty good
I guess that this is beatnik music... I had to pause the first song because I thought that something else was playing in the background. It sounds like a bunch of people stroking out with instruments. Woof. Big Woof. What a terrible album.
Way better than the last one. Solid 2.5.
Big meh on this one.
So good.
Got over my hatred of the last Captain Beefheart album and gave this one a chance. Actually pretty good. Very 60's - but none of the Avant Garde bullshit from the last one we listened to. A bit weird, lyrics were interesting. But the background music was really good. They should have stuck with this sound. Solid debut album before they decided to get terrible.
A third Stevie Wonder album in the list! Crazy. Started pretty weak, but after Superstition it was pretty solid.
I thought it would be awful after American Pie. Actually, a good album!
Lots of the same, but enjoyable overall.
So good!
Decent background music. But a must listen album? Not so sure.
VERY 80's. Not horrible.
Ive wanted to listen to them for a while. This one was... weird. I didnt hate it. But it was something else.
Good. But way too long.
Neat that it's based on Philip Dick. Interesting about all the copyright issues with their cover. I don't know much by Sonic Youth - enjoyed this album. I'd say a 3.5. I'll call it a 3.
It's OK. Some hits - Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feeling - but some deep cuts that were meh. Solid 2.5 - I will give it a 3. Witchy Woman > Desperado
Bit long, but a solid album - great background music.
Bit long for an album where every song sounds the same. Big meh from me.
That was interesting. Not really my kind of music, but not bad.
I was thrown off by Rod Stewart on vocals, but the guitar work is definitely great, and made the album worth while to listen to. The songs are decent, but it’s not a total standout, so I’d say it’s a solid 3/5.
