Popular Reviews

Bit long for an album where every song sounds the same. Big meh from me.

Guero by Beck

Big fan of this album.

American Beauty by Grateful Dead

Truckin' is the best song on the album by far. The rest if pretty good.

The Cars by The Cars

Love the hits on this album!

All Ratings (898)

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Mar 06 2023

Preachers son... classic! Talented artist, but not for me.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Mar 07 2023

Started off strong with blister in the sun. Great first song! Overall, it was fine.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Mar 08 2023

Fun album, I was hoping I would recognize more songs. Overall, it was good.

Achtung Baby by U2
Mar 09 2023

One of the most overrated bands. I didn't hate the album, but I sure didn't enjoy it.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Mar 10 2023

I didn't know about this one. I know the classic Johnny Cash songs, but had never listened to an album from start to finish. Really liked it! I enjoyed how it was a live album where he made mistakes, he cracked up, he had conversations with the audience. Great album. Will listen again for sure.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Mar 13 2023

What kind of trash is this? So long and so bad. Can I get my time back?

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Mar 14 2023

Enjoyed first couple of songs. Then don't fight it, feel it happened. What an awful song. Higher than the sun was good. Inner flight was a bit boring, but made me think of a song that would play in a video game. Nice background music. Come together was catchy, but probably 5 minutes too long. Loaded was kind of funny? Definitely 5-6 minutes too long. Damaged came out of nowhere. Was unlike most other songs. Very early 90s. I'm coming down was 6 minutes that could have been 30 seconds with the same result. This last line sums up the last three songs. Overall, didn't hate it. Not for me though.

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Mar 15 2023

Very 90s. Not great, but not horrible! Won't listen again though. I'm like the clock on the wall.

Mar 16 2023

Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow. I enjoyed this one! Shocked I knew a song. Catchy music, that I would put on again. I liked their version of Norwegian wood too! It was different, but well done. I also listened to the extended songs. All so different from the originals, but enjoyable! Overall, I really liked this album!

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Mar 17 2023

Bunch of awful albums in a row to lead up to this gem. This was one I knew from high school, but it was nice to revisit it. First listen I thought children of the damned and the prisoner were OK songs, kind of a break from great songs. But as I kept listening, I realized how wrong I was. This is a great album from start to finish.

Guero by Beck
Mar 20 2023

Big fan of this album.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Mar 21 2023

The first listen, I wasnt impressed at first. But then once I got to the second half I really liked what I heard. On the second listen, I enjoyed it a lot more. What a solid album!

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Mar 22 2023

Huge fan of the first half of the album. So many hits! Great songs. Second half... Definitely lost me a little with the deep tracks. If the album had ended at kashmir, would have been much better! Because of the second half, I'd rate it 3.5 if I could do half stars, but I can't so I'll round up.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Mar 23 2023

By the sounds of it, this album will get a lot of hate. I didn't hate it. I will never listen again, but it was good background music while working. I'd give it 2.5 of I could. Rounding down.

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Mar 24 2023

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Lucratia was a great song!

Back In Black by AC/DC
Mar 27 2023

This album has all of their hits. I had never listened to an AC/DC album from start to finish, and I didn't hate it. I'm definitely not a fan of the band, and I will continue to change the station when they come on the radio. But not the worst.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Mar 28 2023

Such a solid album. Really enjoyed getting back to this one. Great songs from start to finish.

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Mar 29 2023

After the first few songs, I would have given it a 2.5/5 (but I would have rounded up to 3). As the album progressed that rating slowly went down. Shakedown on 9th street was pretty good. Overall, just a big nope from me.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Mar 30 2023

I really enjoyed this one! Fun lyrics, classic 90s rap. I wish 'can I kick it' was on this album! I will definitely listen to this album again, and have added some of the songs to my regular Playlists.

The Clash by The Clash
Mar 31 2023

Meh. Didn't hate it, but didn't overly enjoy it. Big meh.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Apr 03 2023

Overall, I enjoyed this album. Some songs lost my attention, but for the most part it was really good!

The Specials by The Specials
Apr 04 2023

That was a fun album! I had never heard of them before this, and I really enjoyed listening to this album.

Apr 05 2023

I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. Nice background music to work. I didn't even notice but the album had finished and new ambient music started. I'll listen again while working.

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Apr 06 2023

Great voice. A bit too much farm emo for my liking.

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Apr 07 2023

Not for me.

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
Apr 11 2023

Huge fan of this album. I started listening to it on the train, and unfortunately fell asleep. Not because I wasn't enjoying it, but because I was dead tired. Round 2: unreal. I really enjoyed the last 7 songs. So good.

Apr 12 2023

Overall, I likes it. I thought it would go downhill after take on me, and it certainly did, but not as bad as I expected. I was surprised to recognize a song from the 90s, the sun always shines on TV! Overall, I would have given it a 2.5 if I could. I'll round up because I did enjoy it.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Apr 13 2023

Where's my damn dominoes!? Big fan of Kendrick. I only knew a few songs from this album, and enjoyed listening from start to finish.

Document by R.E.M.
Apr 14 2023

Can confirm, the first song was not the finest worksong. I like this album! Many of the songs remind me of the tragically hip.

No Other by Gene Clark
Apr 17 2023

I wasn't aware that he had solo stuff. I liked it!

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Apr 19 2023

I really enjoyed this album! Reminded me of mcnally Robinsons.

Konnichiwa by Skepta
Apr 20 2023

It was all right. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. 2.5 rounded up

Rio by Duran Duran
Apr 21 2023

Rio and hungry like the wolf are amazing songs. The rest of the album... kinda lost me.

Beautiful Freak by Eels
Apr 24 2023

I liked this album overall. Very 90s, but some of the songs I added to playlists.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Apr 26 2023

She has an amazing voice. I likes this album.

Apr 27 2023

I had never heard of these guys. Enjoyed this album from start to finish.

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Apr 28 2023

Handsome dick manitoba! I ended up liking this one. Never heard of these guys though.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
May 01 2023

Besides the first 9 minutes of the last song, I really liked this one. Go chef! Shaft!

British Steel by Judas Priest
May 02 2023

I liked the album more than I thought I would. Unfortunately, the singers voice got to me over time. Two awful songs, united and red, white and blue. I guess red white and blue isn't technically on this album, so that's a positive.

Made In Japan by Deep Purple
May 04 2023

Not so into the long drum solos, but it was still a great listen. Enjoyed the extended edition too.

Like A Prayer by Madonna
May 08 2023

Album took a massive nose dive after like a prayer. Such a good song, and the rest if the album is... trash. Nah, not for me.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
May 09 2023

Suuuuch a good album. When shine in you crazy diamond is the worst song on an album, you've made an amazing album!

Black Monk Time by The Monks
May 10 2023

This album ranged from songs I enjoyed, to songs that annoyed the hell out of me. I liked Monk time, thought it was a good start to the album. Shut Up was a bit of both - annoying but also catchy. Boys are Boys and Girls are Choice is a great song. It's a classic. Higgle-Dy - Piggle-Dy - catchy instrumental. I hate you - annoying. Oh, How To Do Now - super annoying. Complications and We Do Wie Du - Annoying Drunken Maria - kinda catchy. Love Came Tumblin Down - I liked it. Blast off and That's my Girl - Very annoying. I would have given it a 2.5 if I could have. I'll round up to 3 I guess.

Phrenology by The Roots
May 11 2023

Solid album! I had never heard of them before, and added some of the songs to playlists. The seed (2.0) is a great song!

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento
May 12 2023

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 15 2023

Really enjoyed this one! Great voice. Reminded me of music they play at mcnally Robinson. An album I'll go back to for sure.

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
May 16 2023

Really into TV on the Radio. Great album, and happy I listened to it - since I had never heard this one from start to finish. Some songs they kind of lost me. Also, Non-Musical Silence... why was it 4 minutes long?! The songs after that weren't that great - I feel like they should have ended the album at Lover's Day. Still, a great album overall!

Illmatic by Nas
May 17 2023

I really enjoyed this one! I had never heard anything by Nas, and this was probably a good introduction.

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
May 18 2023

I did like All the King's Men. Seems like I just didn't like hooting and howling and when I'm sleeping. The rest I didn't mind on the second playthrough. The singers voice is kind of annoying. But at times, the band reminded me of Arcade Fire. This is a booty call; my boot up your arse hole. This is a Freudian slip; my slipper in your bits.

Tommy by The Who
May 19 2023

Such a good album! One of the earlier ones I have on vinyl. So good!

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
May 22 2023

Such a great album! Two in a row that I have on vinyl. This one is just perfect from start to finish. All great songs, no filler.

The Visitors by ABBA
May 24 2023

They gave us an ABBA album with none of the hits. It was better than I was expecting. This concerns me that we may see another ABBA album though...

1999 by Prince
May 25 2023

Oof. I was excited when I saw it was a Prince album. Oof. After the first two songs it went downhill incredibly fast. What awful songs. And so damn long too.

Blackstar by David Bowie
May 26 2023

I was skeptical when it came to a new David Bowie album. It was actually pretty good!

May 29 2023

It was longer than necessary. It kind of lost me around Jamaica jerk off for 6 or 7 songs until Saturday nights all right. Good album though! If I could do half stars, I would say 3.5. I'll round up.

May 30 2023

I knew a couple songs on this album. That was enough to give it a good rating. Outside of those two songs... meh. Big meh. I'd give it a 2.5 if I could.

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
May 31 2023

Another Primal Scream album... doesn't seem like they deserve 2 albums in the top 1,001, but maybe that's just me. I did enjoy some of the songs. Trainspotting was a good one! On the second playthrough, I did enjoy this album a lot more. It was OK. Very 90's. Solid 3.

Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Jun 01 2023

OK, so I used to think that kid rock was white trash. I still kind of do, but I didn't hate it. Though I won't listen again. A solid 2.5 round up.

More Specials by The Specials
Jun 02 2023

I can't say I was expecting another album by The Specials. Wasn't bad, I can dig it. Not as good as the first one, but had lots of catchy tunes. 3/5

21 by Adele
Jun 05 2023

I had never listened to an Adele album from start to finish. Obviously, a very talented singer. I thought it was good! Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 06 2023

I was excited about this one. Outside of wouldn't it be nice, sloop john B, and God only know, this was a very meh album.

Water From An Ancient Well by Abdullah Ibrahim
Jun 07 2023

I had no idea what to expect with this one. Was in the mood for some cool jazz on a Tuesday.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Jun 08 2023

I had heard of a few of these songs. Pretty good!

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jun 12 2023

I only knew one song on the album. But maybe that was a good thing. I liked it!

Bossanova by Pixies
Jun 13 2023

Considering it had none of their big songs on it... not bad!

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Jun 15 2023

I had never heard of Marianne faithful before. Poor man's Stevie nicks. Big meh from me.

There's A Riot Goin' On by Sly & The Family Stone
Jun 16 2023

I didn't realize that this was a real band. Had never heard anything by them. Big meh.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Jun 19 2023

I had never heard a Bob Dylan album from start to finish. I really enjoyed it!

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Jun 21 2023

I do not like Aerosmith. This album was meh.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jun 22 2023

John Lennon is great. And the majority of this album is great. Not a fan of don't wanna be a soldier, how do you sleep and oh yoko... those really dragged the album down.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 23 2023

This album... unreal! So good from start to finish.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jun 26 2023

Never heard of them before. Not awful.

Le Tigre by Le Tigre
Jun 29 2023

I liked it! I'm torn though. Was it a 3? Was it a 3.5? I'd say 3.5, round down. Tough call. Fun album.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jul 05 2023

The rolling stones suck. Now that that's done, this album wasn't great. I didn't realize that they did a version of "Stop Breaking Down." So did the White stripes, and their version is better. Just meh. 1.5 - I'll round up to 2.

Goo by Sonic Youth
Jul 06 2023

Never heard this album before, but knew the cover. Pretty good! Reminded me a lot like the pixies.

90 by 808 State
Jul 07 2023

Not terrible. Decent background music. Not good for much else.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Jul 11 2023

Hate the singers voice. Album is all right though.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jul 12 2023

Another pixies album! Didn't like it quite as much as the last one, but still good.

Closer by Joy Division
Jul 13 2023

This was... not very good. Woof.

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Jul 20 2023

Very into this one. Great background music during work.

Tago Mago by Can
Jul 21 2023

What the hell was that?

My Generation by The Who
Jul 24 2023

I like the who. This album, besides my generation and the kids are alright, was very... generic? I'd give the entire album a 2.5, and rounding up.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jul 25 2023

Into it. What a fun album. A bit short, but really good!

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jul 28 2023

Not a 5 star album. But close. Has a lot or nostalgia to angsty 13 year old James.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Aug 01 2023

Very good album. Lost be a bit at the end, but that wasn't enough to take it down too much. I'd say 3.5 round up to 4. Sultans of swing is an unreal song. Mark Knopfler is such a great guitarist!

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Aug 03 2023

Ok. I was more into it than I expected

Aug 04 2023

The best album doesn't exi... fuck. Here it is. This album is so good. Embarrassing I don't have this vinyl. Bit I know every word of every song. This is the best album.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Aug 10 2023

I never knew how much I enjoyed black sabbath before this!

Metallica by Metallica
Aug 15 2023

14 year old James would have loved this album. 33 year old James... meh. The last half was pretty bad.

Atomizer by Big Black
Aug 23 2023

Bit annoying it wasn't on Spotify... it was on YouTube so at least I could listen. Not for me, it was a bit... raw?

Aug 24 2023

Not the Brian eno that I was expecting from the last one. Not bad, but not great.

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
Aug 25 2023

Full disclosure: not the kind of music I generally listen to. That aside, obviously the hits are good - but the album goes downhill pretty quickly after soda pop.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Aug 29 2023

Paul Simon is pretty good. Just gets a bit old after 5 or 6 songs.

Aug 30 2023

Classic Farm Emo™ band. Knew Big Iron from Fallout NV! And El Paso! Classic song about tacos. Otherwise, a lot of the same. Didn't love it, but didn't hate.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Aug 31 2023

Someone needs to tell him that 300 wasn't the Romans... I didn't dislike this as much as the last one. But meh overall. Plus he's just so angry all the time! There were some catchy tunes on this one though. So I would say 2 - 2.5. I'll stick with 2 because fuck Kanye.

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Sep 01 2023

I had never heard of this group. It ranged from nice background music to extremely annoying background music. Overall, it was fine.

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Sep 04 2023

I only knew two songs going in. Such a great album though! Worth listening to the entire two hours.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Sep 05 2023

I'm interested to hear everyone else's reviews. Do people actually like Bruce Springsteen? I mean outside of New Jersey. They seem to love him there. Everywhere else he just seems to be enjoyed ironically? I don't know. I don't get it. Dislike his voice. Don't care for his music, overall.

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Sep 06 2023

I want to like Elvis Costello.... I just can't. It's not great.

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Sep 07 2023

Actually not bad. Probably because I remember many of these songs from the radio - Ray of Light, Nothing Really Matters, and Frozen specifically. Much better than the previous Madonna album! Maybe a few tracks too long.

Sound Affects by The Jam
Sep 08 2023

This is a new band for me. I enjoyed the bass!

Had never heard of PJ Harvey before this. Decent album. Including Thom Yorke in a couple songs was pretty great. Overall, not really my kind of music. But not bad.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Sep 12 2023

I got into this album and fleet foxes because I got one of those free cards at Starbucks with a song on it. The song was Mykonos - which was only on their single, unfortunately. I'm not very familiar with anything they did after this album. So I have some catching up to do with their newer stuff. This album is so good! I do think that the album falls off a bit with Meadowlarks and Oliver James, which are OK - but the rest of the album is great! Love the artwork too!

Faust IV by Faust
Sep 15 2023

When I first saw this was the album of the day I thought it was Feist. VERY different from what I was expecting when I started listening. Album was all over the place. Overall, I enjoyed it!

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Sep 19 2023

Decent. Not my favourite, but not terrible.

John Prine by John Prine
Sep 20 2023

The first two songs were king of funny, seemed to not be too serious on the country side. Then it went downhill and got pretty bad. From his voice, he reminded me of Bob Dylan. But otherwise, way too country for my liking.

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Sep 21 2023

This album wasn't terrible. Just lots of the same...

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Sep 22 2023

This is a great album! Its unfortunate that many of the songs aren't available on spotify (likely Neil Young's songs). Which is too bad, Woodstock is definitely one of the best songs on the album. I was able to find them on YouTube though.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Sep 25 2023

This is a fun album. I was surprised I knew more songs than We Got the Beat (from Rock bank). Good album, overall!

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Sep 26 2023

Not my favourite kind of music. Overall, not bad. Nice and short too.

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Sep 27 2023

Not really music I would listen to regularly. I enjoyed the album thought!

Heroes by David Bowie
Sep 29 2023

I like David Bowie... but this album is all over the place. Maybe a bit too eccentric for my liking, overall. Obviously Heroes is a great song though! I guess I'm a bigger fan of David Bowie's hits and not his full albums.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Oct 03 2023

Great album. I knew the first couple songs, which are awesome. The album goes down slightly after that, but us fairly consistent.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Oct 05 2023

Not really my kind of music. Not bad overall, and some catchy songs too!

A Wizard, A True Star by Todd Rundgren
Oct 06 2023

Interesting album. Kind of all over the place, but overall pretty good!

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Oct 09 2023

Not as good as the other sabbath albums. Still good though.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Oct 10 2023

Good album. Better songs at the end.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Oct 11 2023

The piano was neat in the first few songs. Not enough to redeem the album. Too much of the same? Lyrically, meh.

Garbage by Garbage
Oct 16 2023

Grungey weekend

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Oct 17 2023

I enjoyed this album! Not so much of the annoying guys voice.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Oct 18 2023

A bit too preachy... heh heh. But actually, I enjoyed this album. Great instrumentals. Good album, overall.

Dummy by Portishead
Oct 19 2023

I liked it! Nice background music.

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Oct 20 2023

I enjoyed this album up to Season of the Witch - everything after that wasn't great.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 23 2023

Love CCR! Great album from start to finish.

Odelay by Beck
Oct 24 2023

Mostly great songs! Novacane is by far the worst on the album, but otherwise enjoyed this one.

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Oct 25 2023

Such a fun album! Come on Eileen is obviously a classic, but the rest of the songs were enjoyable. I assumed they would be a one hit wonder band and the rest wouldn't be worth listening to... I'm happy that I was wrong!

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Nov 01 2023

Very into this album. Damn. That was good.

High Violet by The National
Nov 02 2023

Lots of the same. But not bad, overall.

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Nov 03 2023

Like the pixies? But bad. Not into this one.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Nov 10 2023

ELO is good! Kind of a long album, but enjoyable overall!

Graceland by Paul Simon
Nov 13 2023

This album is great!

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Nov 14 2023

OK overall. Time after time and girls just want to have fun are classics. The rest are very 80s.

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Nov 15 2023

I didn't really like the first few songs, but it picked up after She's Losing it, and by Electronic Renaissance I was into it!

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Nov 17 2023

Just what I was feeling today! Really enjoyed this album.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Nov 20 2023

Not my kind of music. Not terrible? But nah.

Nov 21 2023

A bit too much REM. Drive and Man on the Moon are good. Pretty decent album, overall.

Music by Madonna
Nov 22 2023

Started off strong with Music. Took a bit of a nosedive. Recognized Don't Tell Me as well. Also What is Feels Like for a Girl. Not my usual music taste, but not bad. Kind of fell off after the hits. The music at the start of Amazing sounded liker stick RPG.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Nov 27 2023

Now Running Up That Hill is going to be stuck in my head all weekend! Running Up That Hill is a great song. The rest is very... 80's. But pretty good! I didn't dislike any songs. Waking the Witch is a weird one.

Dec 08 2023

Low-Life by New Order
Dec 12 2023

Lots of the same sounding. Not bad, but not my favourite.

Street Signs by Ozomatli
Dec 14 2023

This was all over the place. After the first couple songs, I thought they were an east Indian boy band. Then they threw in a bunch of genres. Not bad though.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Dec 15 2023

Couple good songs (mothers little helper, under my thumb) but lots or filler. I'd 2.5 it if I could.

The Doors by The Doors
Dec 20 2023

Love the doors! Great album start to finish.

Dance Mania by Tito Puente
Dec 21 2023

Revenge? Of course! But why wound his body with bullets, when I can set his soul on fire with a slanderous mambo? -Tito Puente

Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon
Dec 22 2023

Kings of Leon... Guitar - great. Drums - sound good. Bass - awesome. Then the singer starts and it all goes downhill. I do not like that guys voice. like a cat scratching a chalkboard. Otherwise, not bad.

Hell yea! Great album.

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Jan 24 2024

Enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would. Lush 3-1 is great!

Jan 25 2024

A blur album without Song 2! It wasn't bad, but got a bit repetitive. I imagine that if I listened to the special edition that was double the length that it would be even worse. Overall, pretty good. Not the one hit wonders I was expecting.

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
Jan 31 2024

Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright. Got a good voice, sounds kind of like Thom Yorke. Not bad, but a lot of the same. Won't listen again. That being said, not bad.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Feb 05 2024

Good ol willie

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Mar 12 2024

Huge fan of the white stripes! It's unfortunate they chose this album - I would rank this as their 4th best album - and I assume it'll be the only one they see. Very unfortunate. Blunderbuss by Jack White
Oct 03 2024

Considering how much I like the White Stripes, it's surprising that I never really got into Jack's solo and other bands until recently. Solid album, overall. Some of his newer stuff is better, but a few of these are his solo hits.

Tical by Method Man
Oct 07 2024
Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp
Oct 08 2024

Like the last Goldfrapp album, had to listen to it a couple times and I really enjoyed it on the second listen. Great background music. A bit odd. A few songs sounded like James Bond theme songs, which I thought was pretty cool.

Vespertine by Björk
Oct 09 2024

A bit artsy for me, but good background music. I will give Bjork more of a chance with their other albums. Good overall though.

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Oct 11 2024

I guess that this is beatnik music... I had to pause the first song because I thought that something else was playing in the background. It sounds like a bunch of people stroking out with instruments. Woof. Big Woof. What a terrible album.

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Oct 14 2024

Way better than the last one. Solid 2.5.

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Oct 21 2024

Got over my hatred of the last Captain Beefheart album and gave this one a chance. Actually pretty good. Very 60's - but none of the Avant Garde bullshit from the last one we listened to. A bit weird, lyrics were interesting. But the background music was really good. They should have stuck with this sound. Solid debut album before they decided to get terrible.

Eagles by Eagles
Nov 14 2024

It's OK. Some hits - Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feeling - but some deep cuts that were meh. Solid 2.5 - I will give it a 3. Witchy Woman > Desperado

Truth by Jeff Beck
Nov 21 2024

I was thrown off by Rod Stewart on vocals, but the guitar work is definitely great, and made the album worth while to listen to. The songs are decent, but it’s not a total standout, so I’d say it’s a solid 3/5.

Nov 25 2024

I won't listen to this again, but did enjoy it, overall.

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen

What a boring album. Must listen!? I don't think so. So generic and boring. Nothing special.

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Dec 05 2024

Kilimanjaro by The Teardrop Explodes
Dec 06 2024

Kinda boring. Too long.

Jan 01 2025

Kinda boring. 2.5, round down. I dont get why this was on this list.

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Jan 02 2025

I don't really get why this one is on the list. Is this classic country? It's not great. Same background music, different lyrics. Big meh.

Jan 03 2025

It was OK. Some songs were good, some kinda boring.

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Jan 07 2025

Pretty solid album! A bit folk-ish, but still all the songs were worth listening to. Even listened to the extended version for a few different versions. Solid 3.5/5 - will round up.

Damaged by Black Flag
Jan 09 2025

Actually ended up enjoying this one more than I thought I would. Solid backup instruments, pretty generic sounding punk singing, but that's OK!

Very 90's - couple classics in here. Not bad. Solid 3.

Bone Machine by Tom Waits
Jan 17 2025

Tom Waits is basically an anti-smoking ad (at least I assume that's why he sounds like that...). It was an OK album, nothing special.

Big fan of this album! From start to finish - cool sounding songs, great vocals. Overall, great album, that I will 100% listen to again.

Morrissey sucks. Even with another band. Big meh for this one.

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Jan 27 2025

Very 80's. The album cover is pretty funny. Not horrible. Short album, if it was any longer it would likely get old fast.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jan 29 2025

OK, I get it - this is a very popular album. There's a musical about it! But this is my review. The hits make the album pretty solid, with a mix of nostalgia. You oughtta know, hand in my pocket, you learn, ironic. All pretty solid songs. Some of the non-hits were good too. Solid 3.

Jan 30 2025

Lost Souls by Doves
Feb 14 2025

Ended up really liking this one!

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Feb 18 2025

This is the album that got me into the White Stripes originally. Still love listening to it from start to finish. It's a great album - very different from their blues-rock prior albums, and starts their transition to being a rock band with this garage rock style album. So good! From start to finish, I can't get enough of this album.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Feb 19 2025

Definitely solid first 5 or so songs, then it went downhill with some of the deep cuts. Overall, not bad. 3.5 for sure.

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Feb 21 2025

Kind of long, but some good tracks early on.

Pretty catchy - good background music. At times sounded a bit like The Killers. No complaints on this one, nothing too special, but a solid 3/5.

Repeater by Fugazi
Feb 27 2025

Started out unsure with this one, but enjoyed it more and more as it went on. Solid album, overall!

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Feb 28 2025

I'm not sure if this band is considered influential, and that's why they were included? The sound is very raw, like nobody involved knew how to mix tracks and clean things up. Maybe they're influential? But it wasn't for me. I'll be nice and give it a 2, but I would say 1.5 at best. Woof.

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Mar 03 2025

Bit on the long side, with some duds in the middle. Hello it's me is great, and the first 6 ish songs are too.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Mar 06 2025

Short and sweet. Even though I didn't know many of these songs, they were actually quite good! I probably would have hated it if it was any longer of an album as it might get old. Solid album, I'll say 3.5 - round up.

Pyromania by Def Leppard

Historically, was never a big fan of Def Leppard. Actually enjoyed this album more than I thought I would! Solid 3.

Mar 20 2025

Bjork, neat! They were pretty good. I'd say 2.5, round up.

Green by R.E.M.
Mar 21 2025

Stand and Orange Crush are good songs. Started pretty weak, and sounded a lot the same. After Orange Crush, the album got quite good. I will say 3, maybe 2.5 but rounded up.

This is one I hadn't listened to. Pretty solid album! Definitely a 3/5.

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Mar 31 2025

What the hell was that

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Apr 01 2025

I was concerned when it was a Bob Dylan album from 1997. It was actually OK- Highlands was an awful song though, and just never ended. Just 16.5 minutes of nothing. I'll give it a 2.5 and round up.

Future Days by Can
Apr 02 2025

I was very surprised to see this band with another album on this list. Despite that, I liked this one a lot better than the last! Decent background music, nothing too crazy. 2.5 - round up.

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
Apr 03 2025

Its decent background music... but every Van Morrison song sounds the same. Because of that, I'll give it a 2 - because I enjoyed it, but every song sounds exactly like "Into the Mystic"

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Apr 04 2025

Had never heard of these guys - really enjoyed this album. Great background music too. Solid. I'll say 3.5 -round up to 4.

Apr 07 2025

Pretty solid album. A bit long - maybe should have been two separate albums. Still good.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Apr 08 2025

Roger Waters at his best! This album is amazing from start to finish. 5 - no question in my mind.

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Apr 09 2025

Not terrible - not great though. Should it be in the top 1001? Maybe? Tough call. I'll say 2.5 - round down.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Apr 10 2025

TIL that Booker T and the MGs have more than one song... Actually, a pretty solid album for background music. Catchy songs, some covers. Solid 4.

evermore by Taylor Swift
Apr 11 2025

It's not really my kind of music. But, she has a nice voice, and overall it was good. I will never listen to it again, and that is OK - I still enjoyed it. Solid 3.

Apr 15 2025

I knew the hits, and there were some pretty big ones on this album. Even the songs I didn't know were pretty good. Solid 3.

Apr 16 2025

Classic Yes... really long songs! Great bass, drums and guitar! Singer gets a bit old, but it's still good. 3.5 I will round up.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Apr 17 2025

I've gone 35.5 years without knowing this group existed. This album was amazing! I was worried when I saw it was bongo music and over an hour long... but not once I started listening! Unreal. Absolute 5. I could listen to that all day.

Apr 18 2025

I really like TV on the Radio, and also big fan of Tunde Adebimpe. This is their first album, and I wasn't as big of a fan of this one as I was every single other album of theirs. Not sure how I had never listened to this one, despite enjoying all of their other albums... that makes no sense. Solid 3.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Apr 22 2025

Catchy music, not generally for me but enjoyable! Solid 3.

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Apr 25 2025

I don't generally like the rolling stones - but this was pretty solid. From start to finish, all pretty catchy music - a bit raw - which makes sense since it was their debut album. Enjoyable overall. I'll say 2.5, round up to 3. I really wish there were half stars....

Maxinquaye by Tricky
Apr 28 2025

OK. Not really my kind of music - but not bad. Pretty decent background music. I'd say 2.5, I will round down.

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Apr 29 2025

How did this make the list? Huge nope from me. I'd give it a 0 or 0.25 if I could.

Calenture by The Triffids
Apr 30 2025

Yeesh, using this analogy twice in a day - about as interesting as a white bread sandwich with no toppings and its crusts cut off. Nearly two hours of this!? Come on.

Whatever by Aimee Mann
May 01 2025

Very 90's - and fairly generic. But she has a nice voice, and I didn't dislike listening at any point. I will say 2.5 - round up to 3.

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
May 06 2025

Ended up really enjoying this one, despite the folky-ness of it. Definitely will listen again! Solid 3.5 - will round down.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
May 07 2025

So good! Great album from start to finish - solid 4.

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
May 08 2025

Not sure how I feel about this one. I still don't like his voice and many of these songs sound like they belong as the soundtrack for a weird Tim Burton movie. 2. And I feel like that's being generous.

Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev
May 09 2025

Overall it was OK - but after Goddess on the Hiway I thought it got really good! The last 4 songs were great. Overall - maybe a 3, wish it had more of the final few songs!

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
May 13 2025

Not really my kind of music. Also a verrry long album. That being said, obviously a very talented singer - her range is pretty crazy. That alone makes it at least a 3-3.5.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
May 15 2025

I never realized Janis was part of a band - I even thought that some of the songs on this album were her solo stuff. Pretty solid album, overall! Great singer, and really good backup band. Definitely a 3.5 - round up.

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
May 19 2025

What the hell was that.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
May 20 2025

Solid. Enjoyed this one. Now I need to watch the movie.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
May 22 2025

Huge fan of this album! Solid from start to finish. Only complaint is that the album was too short! I would have enjoyed more of that.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
May 23 2025

I had never heard of this group. Pretty good! Enjoyed that one from start to finish. Solid 3.5, will round up.

Elastica by Elastica
May 26 2025

Pretty generic 90's music... not horrible, but a lot of the same. Maybe a 2.5? Round down to a 2, because I don't really get why its on this list.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
May 27 2025

Short album, kind of boring though. 2.5

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 28 2025

All his songs kinda sound the same. Two albums on this list!?

Rocks by Aerosmith
May 29 2025

I was concerned - Back in the Saddle and Last Child are decent songs, then I hadn't heard of any of the other songs. Altogether, a pretty solid album. I don't really like Aerosmith, but this one was worth listening to. 3/5

New Forms by Roni Size
Jun 03 2025

Ended up enjoying this one. Nice background music - upbeat.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Jun 04 2025

This album... UNREAL. First album that got me into Arcade Fire - saw them live getting asked last second to take a ticket to their show on this tour. Such a great album!

Microshift by Hookworms
Jun 05 2025

I had never heard of this band. I enjoyed the album! Great length - I think any longer and it might have gotten boring. Solid album, I'd say 3.5 - rounding up.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jun 09 2025

The classics are great! Bittersweet symphony, lucky man. But they also kinda just sound like Oasis with a touch of 90s Radiohead. I'll go with a 2.5 and round up for the hits.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jun 10 2025

So many good songs on this album! Judy Blue Eyes, Marrakesh Express, Guinnevere, Wooden Ships, Helplessly Hoping, Long Time Gone, Everybody's Talkin, and Teach Your Children! So good!

Stankonia by OutKast
Jun 11 2025

There are some of their huge songs in this album.... but also a lot of filler. A 1 hour 13 minute album that probably should have been cut down to maybe 30-40 minutes. That being said, the hits are great. I'd say maybe a 3.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 13 2025

It was quite a bit better than I was expecting. RIP!

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Jun 16 2025

Pretty generic 60's kind of music. Decent guitar, but overall generic... not sure why it would be on this list.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Jun 17 2025

The concept is weird, but the album is good! Really enjoyed this one.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jun 18 2025

Second album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds... not sure how I feel about this one. It was OK. Kinda weird.

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon

Had never heard of this group or album - big fan! I definitely plan on listening to more by them. Great lyrics - fun album overall.

System Of A Down by System Of A Down

Jun 26 2025

Weird, but kind of cool. Fun background music. I'd say solid 3/5 - and I think I will listen again.

Trio by Dolly Parton
Jun 30 2025

Not for me.

Night Life by Ray Price
Jul 01 2025

Not a big fan of the honky tonk (-3), or this weird cuck situation on the album cover (-2). Willie Nelson is pretty cool (+1), Hank Hill likes Willie (so +0.5), and the album is short (+0.5, because why not). So let's go with 2.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Jul 02 2025

This was a new group for me. I really enjoyed this album, even if it was a bit long. Solid 4.

Scum by Napalm Death
Jul 03 2025

...What the hell was that? No. Just no. How the hell did this album get into the list of 1,001 albums you must listen to before you die?! Pretty talented musicians I guess... then the singer just starts spouting gibberish. No. Absolutely not. I'd give it a 0 if I could, so I guess it's getting a 1. Thankfully it was a very short album.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Jul 04 2025

Had never heard of this band - pretty solid! Early Josh Homme band too! Enjoyed this album - and added a few songs to playlists I will listen to later. Solid 3.5 - I will round up.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Jul 07 2025

So good!

I See A Darkness by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Jul 08 2025

Decent album. Good background music, but nothing special. I'm not sure what sets it apart and puts it on the list of 1,001 albums I need to listen to before I die though. Some good songs in here - and a fairly short album. Shame it wasn't available on Spotify - I would listen to some of the songs more if it was. With all that, I would say 3.

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Jul 10 2025

It was an interesting album. Some good songs on there. I'd say 2.5 - I will round up.

Only By The Night by Kings of Leon
Jul 11 2025

The band itself isn't bad... but his voice. Woof. Nails on a chalkboard.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Jul 15 2025

"Wait a minute, this sounds like rock and/or roll" Pretty decent album. First half was OK - some pretty interesting stuff, and some meh. In-a-gadda-da-vida though... hell yea - so good. Solid 3.5 - I will round down to a 3.

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 16 2025

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It was different from their other albums - all piano. But still weird like the others. There have been three of their albums on this list so far... this makes 4. That seems crazy to me. They're OK - but 4/1,001 albums seems like a stretch. I'll say 2, because 3 feels too high. So that makes it a 2.5 round down situaish.

Blur by Blur
Jul 17 2025

Blur has an album that is nearly an hour long! They have more songs than Song 2 after all. But actually, this is a pretty solid album. There is another song I know by them that isn't on this album... Blur had a second album! Who knew. I'm going with 3.

Pornography by The Cure
Jul 18 2025

What an awful album. Not quite a 1, but 2 feels too high. I'll say 1.5 and round up.

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Jul 22 2025

It sucks that it wasn't on Spotify. Not a bad album, overall. Decent background music. I'd say solid 3.

Picture Book by Simply Red
Jul 28 2025

Sounded like a shitty band that would play at an 80's social. Some catchy ish songs, but nothing special. Don't really understand how it made the list.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jul 29 2025

Unreal album! So good from start to finish.

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Jul 30 2025

Another Springsteen album? And zero 'hits'!? Woof. Why? No. I'd go zero if I could - so 1. What a waste of space.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Jul 31 2025

She has a great voice. Folk music is a big meh, but it was still a good album despite that.

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Aug 04 2025

Many of the songs sounded a lot like Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Not bad overall. Really interesting Wiki read - Gilmour and Waters basically forced this album to exist. Not great, but not bad. So I'll say 2.5 round up.

New Wave by The Auteurs
Aug 05 2025

I thought I would get annoyed by his voice, but that didn't happen. Catchy songs from start to finish.

One World by John Martyn
Aug 06 2025

This was a new one for me. Really interesting album - decently short. I'll say 3.5 - not quite a 4, but definitely better than a 3.

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Aug 07 2025

Started off OK - the last song - Don't - was a big no from me. What the hell was that? I'll say 2.

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Aug 08 2025

Pretty decent group, but nothing overly special. 2.5 I will round up.

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Aug 11 2025

Solid album. Definitely a 3 in my books. Come on, people. Somebody ordered the London Symphony Orchestra... possibly while high. Cypress Hill, I'm looking in your direction.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Aug 12 2025

Couple decent songs, but mostly a lot of the same - meh. One song with 80 million plays... then a lot of nothing. I'll give it a 2.

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
Aug 13 2025

She has a nice voice, but it's still farm emo and I don't like it.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Aug 14 2025

Had never heard of these guys... solid album! Listened a couple times, and really enjoyed it, overall. Solid 4. Really was into the instrumentals!

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Aug 20 2025

Amazing album - from start to finish. Solid 4.5 - will round up.

Being There by Wilco
Aug 21 2025

I like Wilco as much as the next guy but a double album.... that's a lot of the same. Despite this, it was still decent. Solid 3.

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Aug 22 2025

This is a really good album! Reading the wiki, it's impressive how many big names were part of it. Definitely a 4. really enjoyed this one.

Django Django by Django Django

Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby by Girls Against Boys
Aug 26 2025

They are OK - but odd at times. I'd say iffy if they should be on this list - they don't really seem like anything special. I'll say 2/5.

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Aug 27 2025

That was OK I guess - not sure if he's trying to be Frank Sinatra, but he does a decent job of it. I'll say 2.5 - round down.

So by Peter Gabriel
Aug 28 2025

Sledgehammer is a good song... the rest of the album is a bunch of filler. "So mid" as the kids say. Maybe a 1.5? I'll round up, I guess.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Sep 01 2025

Generally, not my kind of music. That being said, she has an amazing voice, and some of these songs were huge when they came out. Completely makes sense that this album is on the list. Solid 4.

Roger the Engineer by The Yardbirds
Sep 02 2025

The Yardbirds are so good! And this album is no different. Solid from start to finish.

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Sep 03 2025

I was expecting a lot of "You've got a friend in me" - but that was not the case. Pretty solid album! Gets a 3 in my books!

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Sep 04 2025

Such an overrated band. The voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Not a fan, despite them having a few OK songs. Those will raise it to a 2.

Shleep by Robert Wyatt
Sep 08 2025

Corey's favourite - an Avant Garde album! It has some OK songs, and some weird ass shit. So I will say 2.5 - round down because WTF mate.

Sep 16 2025

Higher Ground is obviously an amazing song. The rest of the album was pretty solid too. I'd say 3.5 - will round up.

Sep 17 2025

"Make a woman love me" has a very different meaning these days... There were some OK songs - but for the most part this was trying to be Paul Simon with a mesh of Paul McCartney. Maybe he wishes his name was Paul? I'll give it a 1.5 and round up because it's not horrible like a 1. But I don't understand how it made this list.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Sep 19 2025

Really enjoyed this one! Reminded me of the background music for Sigur Ros, or Brian Eno. Solid background music. Definitely a 4 in my books.

Decent album. Very interesting WIKI read - especially Dennis' personal one. I'll say 3.5 round down.

It took way too long to get to Suspicious Minds. Otherwise, lots of the same? Pretty meh. I'll say 2.5 - round down.

Justified by Justin Timberlake
Nov 04 2025

Maybe a couple songs that were hits, but seemed to be a lot of filler for an album that was over an hour long. Because of this, I will say 2.5 - round down.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp

Solid album. Fun listen. Definitely a 4.5/5 - round down for crazy Eric Clapton.

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Nov 18 2025

The most generic-sounding early 90's rock you can get. Hits on the album for sure, but just so generic sounding. Music you would expect to hear at Home Depot in the early 90's. I'd say 2.5 - I guess I will round up because 2 seems low. 3 it is...

Let It Be by The Replacements
Nov 19 2025

I wasn't sure what to expect from these guys... pretty solid. Definitely a 3.

Jan 05 2026

The bass in pretty much every song was amazing. Pretty decent album, overall.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jan 06 2026

Not a big fan of MJ, but never disappointing when his songs come on. Overall, very good album with a lot of catchy songs. Tough call on rating. I'll say 3.5 - round down for the Epstein and kiddy stuff....

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jan 07 2026

I don't really like the Rolling Stones. That being said, they make some pretty solid music. So I will go with a 4 on this one.

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
Jan 08 2026

An hour seemed like too long for this album. I think about 8 songs could have been cut out, and it would have been that much better. That being said, not really my kind of music, but some big hits on this one. I will go with a 2.5 - round up.

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Jan 12 2026

Just like his last one, this one was made for an imaginary film. Pretty solid album, overall. I will say 3.5 and round up because I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Jan 13 2026

Yeesh. What a bad album. It appears that Joni doesn't have much outside of her hits. I'll say 1.5, and I will round up to 2 because it wasn't quite bad enough to consider a 1. But what a woof album.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jan 14 2026

I'm not a huge fan of Pearl Jam - and I still won't listen to them much. Alive and Jeremy are extremely overrated songs. But the rest of the album... actually pretty good. I'll sat 2.5 - round up for pleasant surprise, and also because its not a 2/5 album for sure.

Da Capo by Love
Jan 15 2026

Not terrible, but nothing special. Sounds like a lot of bands from this time. So I will go with a 2.5, and round down.

Headquarters by The Monkees
Jan 16 2026

"The Monkees weren't about music, Marge. They were about rebellion, about political and social upheaval!"

What an odd album. I didn't hate it though! I'll go with a 3.

Dreaming of you is a pretty solid song. Fell off for the majority of the rest of the album, but wasn't awful. I'd say 2.5 - round up.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Jan 23 2026

Had never heard of this group, pretty good! Solid 3.

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Jan 28 2026

It was OK I guess? I'll say 2.5 - round down because 3 seems way too generous with this one.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller

Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Feb 19 2026

OK - this was fine, I guess. Didn't quite put me to sleep, but it wasn't far off. I'll say 2.5, round up because it wasn't bad enough to be a 2.

Feb 25 2026

A little better than the last one. So I will say 2.5 round down.

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Mar 03 2026

The fuck was that?

Pretty solid. I'll say 3.5 round down.

Apr 24 2026

The first two songs were pretty bad, Matty Groves and after were quite a bit better.

Apr 27 2026

Some pretty unreal songs on this album... also some filler. Probably could have cut it off at about 13 songs. But still, great album!

GI by Germs
Apr 28 2026

A few awkward cuts between songs; not sure if that was Spotify or what. Overall, pretty solid punk album!

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Apr 30 2026

80's barf, mixed with way too many interludes. Probably could have cut this one down to 30-40 minutes MAX.

Spinning Wheel is decent, the rest is pretty meh. I'll go 2.5 - round down because 3 is too high.

Low by David Bowie
May 07 2026

A Bowie album with no hits, that was still good from start to finish!? Count me in.

Darkdancer by Les Rythmes Digitales
May 12 2026

The trouble with this kind of music, is that it borders between catchy and annoying. This album leaned more towards the latter.

Opus Dei by Laibach
May 13 2026

This album was... something. Neat they are Slovenian, but industrial music isn't really for me. Poor mans Rammstein.

Lots of 80's Shite. Some catchy songs though. Probably would have been better off just going instrumental like song one.

Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys
Jun 18 2026

The album cover is amazing. The album was OK - I was worried it would be bad 80's music, but I was happy with it. I'll say 3 to 3.5 - but will stick with a 3.

Room on Fire is definitely a better album than this one, but this one is still pretty solid!

Dookie by Green Day
Jul 30 2026

Green Day sucks. The couple OK songs make it not a 1, but 2 is a bit generous.
