I don't think we need 3 kings of leons records on this list.
Good record. Gouge away <3
Honestly I love Radiohead, but this record doesn't do it for me.

Was okay, not really my thing tho.
Reggae not for me
too eird
Didn't really click for me.
So, the first listen I wasn't impressed, but this could be an absolute grower, gotta give a couple more chances. Forget her is a gem.
The intro to Hells Bells alone is so good
I'm not vibing with Reggae. Like not at all. Sorry in advanced for all the Reggae records I'm not gonna appreciate. Gonna give it 2, because just because it's not for me doesn't mean it's bad.
Good record. Gouge away <3
Okay, not many ouststanding songs.
Strong start, Care of Cell 44 is fantastic. Another solid one, gotta check that band out and listen to this one a couple of more times.
I've never been a RATM fan. But fuck what an record. Like you really feel how special it was and continues to be. You can argue a lot about what belongs on a list like this, but without any doubt RATM hast to be on it.
Reggae and Hip Hop are gonna be two genres I'm gonna struggle with a lot. I'm sure it's good even tho it's not for me.
Never stop shining you crazy diamond
Reggae and Hip Hop are gonna be two genres I'm gonna struggle with a lot. I'm sure it's good even tho it's not for me.
Another band I'm not familiar with except their hits. Sounds timeless, you could release the record today with the same sound. And I mean that as a compliment.
Its okay, not really for me
Quite good, never heard of them before except for "i ain't got nothing".
I saw a lof of rather negative reviews and I get where they are coming from. It's not for everyone, which is fine. It worked forme on an early morning on a sunny day, but I probably wont listen to it again.
I don't think I've ever heard that name. Last.fm says I listened to three songs in 2018. I prefer the english version, although I didn't realize it's the same songs at the first listen. Some solid songs, gonna give it another go someday.
Everbody knows Shout and Everybody wants to rule the world. Never heard the whole record before tho. The rest of the record youldn't quite keep up, some of the songs were a tad too long.
Mh, maybe I was not in the mood for it, but none of the songs caught my ear. I'm not too familiar with Youngs music, but this was skippable for me.
Sure, her voice is fantastic, but the music was kind of bland for me. There's so good songwriting and some rather mediocre one.
I never really got into the Flaming Lips, but I listened to that record a lot in 2011. Fantastic, its a really fun kind of weird.
Another one I never listened to before this. You can hear their massive influence on bands nowadays. Pretty good, one of my favorites of new discoveries so far.
Another band I've never heard of before. Strong start, the singer has a really nice voice. It got a bit weaker in the end, but I probably give it another go.
I'm not a huge Bowie fan, I'm not gonna separate the art from the artist and as far as I'm aware there were quite a few bad things in his private life. Record was fine, nothing stood out on the first listen, but like I said, I'm not familiar with Bowies work. Really liked the outro tho.
Nothing peticurlary caught my ear.
Well this is something for an early morning. I think everbody heard smack my b up an firestarter a million times by now. And if i was into those songs I would have checked out the record. But alas, its not my kind of music. There are some good songs and I can understand why people like it. But for me it's a one and done deal.
It's good.
You know, listening through this list makes my realize that i don't vibe with older music. I'm 35 years old. I can appreciate their influence and recognize that a lot of theses records are fine / good, but it's hard to see the importance they carried just listening to the music. Sometimes I research a bit more of the artist to see their history. So most of these albums gonna be a "one and done" kind of deal, and this is okay for me. 1001 is a big number, so I'm gonna be more excited if I find something I really like.
Although I listened to a lot of indie in 2009, I somehow missed them. What a shame, because this record is fantastic.
I think the huge success of Why Does It Always Rain On Me turned me a bit off this album. Song was okay, but not that interesting. The rest of the record is really good tho.
Fantastic name for a band. I'm not a huge hip hop fan, but this has a good flow.
How did i miss this
Not much going on
Talkin bout a revolution and Fast Car are obviously enormous hits, as a beginner guitarist among the first songs I learned to play. The rest of the record couldn't quite keep up, but it was solid. Why and Across the lines stood out as well.
Never heard of this band, so I have no idea what to expect. From the cover and name I expected Stoner rock, but the first song doesn't sound like it. Really chill album, I like it quite a bit.
Funnily enough, Arctic Monkeys was the indie band I liked the least. I was a huge fan of Maximo Park and Bloc Party. But it seems like the Monkeys outshone them both by quite a margin.
Kind of close to what I normally listen to, and I think I heard their name before, but first time checking them out. Another really solid record, gotta listen to it more.
Pretty good considering I don't like hip hop that much.
My second Flaming Lips album. I overall cleary prefer Yoshimi, but this is good as well.
Love that some non western music is on here. A bit long, especially for my european ears, but it's good.
Really sad and really good
Another review said the discovered a flaw in this 1001 albums list and called it "sheer proliferation of forgettable dad rock". And yeah, I agree. There are so many rock album which kinda sound the same. Sure they were probably a great album at the time. But it does not hold up today.
I'm so happy I just disccovered spotifys option to choose other releases. I don't think i could listen to two hours of Jazz in the legacy edition. Also I just prefer to listen to the records how the were orignally released. It's okay, not for me tho.
There is a distinct lack of females in this list so far and I'm glad Courtney and her band are here to fix it.
Something different and that made their record stand out from all the same rock albums.
As someone who basically only knows Candle in the wind I was surprised how good this is. I've never given John a chance and I should have.
This is my second Lamar album after To Pimp A Butterfly, and I liked To Pimp more.
Really good start, got a bit weaker towards the end
I didn't know what to expect with this cover, but really fun!
Honestly I love Radiohead, but this record doesn't do it for me.
They have better records tho!
Sorry for all the hip hop and rap records I rate low because I don't vibe with it. Happy the list isn't only the same bland of rock from the 60ties and 70ties.
My fourth Bowie Album (out of 146 generated) and I'm still not a fan. One of the better ones tho.
Sorry I can't take this I'm switching to Gojira.
Somehow I didnt expect much but this is really good
Pretty weak for Fleetwood Mac
Totally forget about them and what a huge hit Golden Skans was.
As far as i understand John Lennon was a pretty shit person
Thank god someone finally forced me to really listen to them. Fantastic record.
Surrender is so insanely good, but the rest was kind of meh.
I really liked the singers voice, but that was about it.
What I love about this project: There are a lot of artists with the "big hits" like Its Like That. And I never listened to the rest of the record. It's nice to get some context to these hit songs.
Really fun
Love the smiths, hate morrisey
I never really connected with Smith's records. I realize there is something there for me, but i never quite catch it.
Im not gonna give Morrissey any clicks.
Do there really need to be (at least) three Steely Dan records on this list? Seems to be the best (so far) tho
timless
it is indeed crazysexycool
Kanye is pos
oh wow this was boring
The album is a banger, 4/5. But im gonna remove a point because Taylor seems to be a horrible person.
Oh my god this is where blister in the sun comes from. They used to play this a lot in the clubs a decade ago. It's the best song off the record tho.
Never heard of them, but I put them instantly in my library.
I just think that we could have chosen better Queen records.
2 hours is just too long
It's been awhile since I found another gem which made this project a bit tedious. I'm not sure I've heard from Phair before this. This is however a fantastic find and I like it very much so far.
Im mean its not bad, but I didn't find things I particularly enjoyed either.
enough with the bowie spam
Im not sure what this adds when we already have back to black on this list. It's good tho. Dislike the lyrics tho, especially in the first song like some other reviewer pointed out.
Oh wow that random n-word drop. Was actually liking it, shame.
Another person who wont get clicks from me, because separating art from the artists is stupid.
This my third Nick Cave record on this list and I didn't really like the other two. So I wasnt expecting much. But this is fantastic. Nick's voice is brilliant and clear, I really love it.
I really enjoy the first 10 songs but now I'm gonna take a break.
4/5 for the Smiths. 1/5 for Morrisey.
We really don't need (at least) six Bowie albums on this list. My god.
4/5 for the smiths 1/5 for morrisey
I don't think we need 3 kings of leons records on this list.
I agree that compilations shouldnt be on this list. However its the Hives.
Its just...I dont like the voice most of the time.
