genuinely and seriously adele is so so so incredible.. like this is the album that produced hello.. HELLO?!? like omg. wait until 21 gets here i’ll rate it 5. this one gets less than that bc i. say so))?)

fire. you know you made it when you get played in every mall in america and also make fantastic music. her voice is incredible and the songwriting is great, melodies get instantly stuck in your head too. Rating - 7.7 Favs - River Lea - Million Years Ago - When We Were Young

what a great voice!

my second adele album, with the first being 21. her voice is positively beautiful on 25. she holds some notes way longer than you'd expect. actual chills!!! what a gifted singer. every song showcases her voice. even if some songs hit the mark more than others, her voice remains reliable. she did change some of her genre inspiration on 25. adele lives in soul music, but it's less pronounced on this album. there's a stronger r&b presence. she used synth, making "i miss you" have more of an impact. "send my love (to your new lover)" is very reminiscent of amy winehouse (considering the inspiration, that's the exact direction she used). "a million years ago" is a paul simon-like song. i can understand why some listeners found this album boring. this type of music isn't the type to get you hyped at a party. you definitely have to be in the right mood for this album. this music is emotional, and being present only allows you to appreciate it more. this is an album that can't be rushed. her ballads are beautiful and heart wrenching. though adele isn't the only songwriter, her lyrics are emotional and moving. those notes she holds on "all i ask" are incredible but would be nothing without those lyrics. the choice to have a piano only song only serves to hammer home the emotions. her ballads, to me, standout among the other songs.

I'm not sure there's anyone else I would rate so much on their vocals. After all, if you have a great song, you only need adequate vocals. And if you don't have a good song, great vocals can only save it so much -- it's still not an enjoyable tune. But wow, what a voice. And the songs are good. Combine that with the voice and the production, and this is damn good. (One thing that I particularly appreciate is that Adele doesn't feel the need to warble, like Whitney Houston, for example. I once heard some one criticize a lot of female R&B singers for choosing to turn cart wheels to get from point A to B when walking would have been just fine.)

I don’t reach for an Adele album to listen to but she is a great composer and singer

I'm so torn on this album. It starts off absolutely incredible with the first few heartbreaking tracks full of so much drama. The final three songs really were bland in comparison and especially the final track Sweetest Devotion seems so out of place with how sad the rest of the album is. It was so very nearly a 5-star. 8/10

Not exactly my flavor, but the top notch production and mind blowing vocals send this record straight into the stratosphere. There’s a reason Adele sings for world leaders.

Not something I’d ever put on regular rotation, but man, what a set of pipes.

for an album of my time i never listened to it fully before now and it’s great! unfortunately some songs are just overplayed fav songs: i miss you, when we were young, million years ago

This is not my favorite album by Adele, but it was a welcome return after 2011's 21. The music here contains a bit more 80s influence and is focused on powerhouse ballads that showcase Adele's emotional range and vocal power. I think the production is quite good, but there are some elements that already sound a bit dated. Having said that, I still thoroughly enjoyed this album and remain awestruck by Adele's talent.

Had me foot tapping.

It's not always bad to be predictable - everything I wrote about Adele's previous album (21) can also be said about its successor. So I'll do just that, only exchaning names. So here goes ... Adele has in incredible voice, but not all of the songs are equally phenomenal. Tracks like Hello, Send My Love (To Your New Lover) and Love In The Dark are awesome, but then there are tracks like When We Were Young and Remedy that are just filler. Still this is a phenomenal album, but not as iconic or timeless as it could be. 4/5

Incredible voice, but needs more variety

Warming to Adele, has to be said

Another collection of fantastic vocals and great ballads from Adele. It would be impossible to recreate the same magic that 21 delivered, but I think Adele followed up as best as she can with this one. I think all of these songs are rather strong, though not as hard hitting as the songs in 21.

I liked this album a lot especially my favorite Adele track of all time “water under the bridge” (idc what anyone says it’s her best song imo) but yeah there’s some really good songs on here. The lesser known songs are a little boring and forgettable but the amount of hits almost makes up for it. It doesn’t feel as cohesive as her previous album 21 but it’s still a good listen

This album has some great songs, I don’t understand the hate! Million Years Ago is awesome, and it was my first time hearing it

Great Album! Her voice is amazing every time i hear it. I don’t love every song thus, the 4 stars.

I think Adele will go down as one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. Her voice is always on point and so many recordings of her both live and in-studio come across as perfect to me. I'll always remember spending a few months rebuilding parts of my mom's house due to a flood (I think it was Hurricane Irene in 2011) and hammering away at sheetrock with my brother and uncle, quietly doing our tasks while the radio was playing. Adele comes on (I don't remember the song) and like a band of percussions in perfect sync, the hammering stopped. We just listened, took a break, and then got right back to it. It was so funny to us after we realized that we all did it without even saying anything to eachother and it was also such a sign of her brilliance- it will stop you in your tracks! great album flow- "Hello" is classic Adele- a heart ripping ballad with an earth-shattering powerful chorus Track 2, "Send my Love to your new Lover" is this incredibly infectious rhythmic bop that makes you feel like you are going for a run, pumping to the quarter notes and mentally working through something heavy- like a breakup. I listened to this on Friday and now on Monday morning this song is still stuck in my head. I learned recently of an ingenious idea that a guitar teacher who I look up to had been working on- where he was trying to improve his guitar phrasing and making his melodies more lyrical and more like a human voice, with small tasteful articulations. He had struggled with them for a long time and I shared this because my whole time as a musician I've always felt like I needed to add more little nuances and flourishes in my music and that I would too often write a melody where the interesting facet was the note intervals and their relationship with the harmony, and not enough of the micro elements like articulations that you would find in an Adele vocal part. His idea was to learn through the Adele discography and learn her vocal parts on guitar, including all of her little nuances exactly how she sings them. I don't necessarily have the free time to do this compared to a full time guitar teacher but I've been keeping that in my back pocket for a while- to go through some of her hits and hopefully ingrain some of her melodic beauty into my guitarring. It's a brilliant idea and I know it broke open his guitar playing and improvisation. I think this album is a 4. The hits are amazing but it's not as truly timeless as an Adele Greatest Hits would be.

There are a few too many skips here for my usual 4 star requirements, especially with how much I dislike "Hello"... but god damn, when it hits, it absolutely HITS. It is less consistent than 21 but honestly I think it may have higher highs, and thats saying something.

A lot of strong singles on display, and they do form a good album. No quite the level of hype she often gets in my opinion, but good nonetheless.

It’s good, anyone who says this album doesn’t deserve to be on the list is an idiot. It was the best selling album of 2015.Adele’s voice like always is beautiful but I’m not a huge fan of the electronic element and the slow pace.Hello is still amazing though.

Hello is thunderous. Send My Love is great. The front half is a completely air tight pop sound scape. The back half is more ballady but this is a really good album!

Pretty solid. Had not heard much from her

Adele gets me harder than a Millwall supporting woodpecker. A common bird with a gob like a skip. Marry me you filthy scum.

My esteem for Adele has only grown over the years, but weirdly I remember this being a better album. Hello is a classic, and I really like Send My Love (To Your New Lover). The rest of the album is kind of easy to dismiss, for me. I guess I prefer 21! I need to get around to listening to 30. Maybe after I finish this list in 6 months

Pretty solid album, really took me back to walking in a department store in 2015.

Not as good as 21. But OK.

Solid pop album.

Adele simply has a great voice, and she communicates her songs so well that it is difficult to be critical. Objectively, her style and music are not for everyone nor does it have to be, but she does make such a strong case for herself and her sound to be its own brand. A brand that while not every listener will consume, a brand that every listener can respect as being the best of its kind. Her voice is semi-raspy without any cost to its projection of depth, her technical efforts can be heard as though she is one wrong breath from messing up, the listener can hear Adele do the work of singing with effort. This effort translates to something meaningful, something to respect, even if Adele is not for the listener. So why after all that praise, does the rating fall short of 5 stars? Reasons are fairly simple, in that this album is not a prerequisite to death (objectively none are, but that's not the point) and while there is so much to love about Adele, there is no reason to feel that one is missing out by not having heard this album. Four stars is just as prestigious for this reviewer in that a listener may not need to have heard this, but they should be glad that they did.

Soul-infused pop showcases Adele's supreme vocal ability. Musically isn't super interesting as the focus is on her singing. Standouts are bookends the powerful piano ballad "Hello" and the uplifting "Sweet Devotion."

good for a pop album not sure if there's a song I love but there definitely isn't a bad one here 4.5

Classic….I Miss You is the standout track for me.

Some great songs, for sure

Adele is gewoon nice.

i have to give it a good rating, even though it’s not for me, it’s a beautiful conclusive album.

Adele's strength is, obviously, her amazing emotional voice. She's at her best belting out minimally embellished heartfelt ballads. And her best is best ever territory. She needs a piano, not backup singers. This album is fine, but not all it could have been.

I wonder if we end up with more Taylor swift or Adele lol She is an unbelievable vocalist. The lyrics are honesty meh, but the way she uses her voice as an instrument is incredible 4/5

Not sure if it’s familiarity or not but all of Adele’s albums seem so top heavy. The big songs are huge and the rest is just a slog. The hits hit hard though: hello, when we were going, and water under the bridge are great

Adele is incredible

Was Olea stay surprised

Haven't listened to this album in full, just the hits. Solid pop album with a lot of heartfelt songs. Fantastic vocal work as always. Focus here seems to be more on the sadder mood instead of the catchier pop tunes of the first album.

She has lovely voice. Songs are reasonably well written and the lyrics are reasonably good. The only complaint I have about her songs is they all sound too similar, often similar to songs by other artists, and there are many times I wonder if they are covers.

While not necessarily my musical taste, it is hard to deny the vocal powerhouse that is Adele. This record has so many notable tracks that its impact is still felt in pop culture and the staying power of these songs. Given the increasing gaps between releases it seems as though we will be left with these tracks a bit longer than with other artists, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Man, this Adele album is amazing, I adore her voice. That said… her stuff rarely moves from “that’s a great song” into “and I must hear it over and over” territory for me. Which I think just means I am not her target audience, because it’s inarguably brilliant. It’s not you, Adele, it’s me.

Look, I've heard the song Hello about 1,001 times, but hearing it now, loudly, on good headphones, her voice is just angelic. Majestic. It's soaring nature brings a tear to my eye. Great lyrics, too. I don't love the upbeat songs with electronic elements such Send My Love & I Miss You - I mostly love to hear her voice. That's the real instrument. Water Under The Bridge is a jam, still. "It was just like a movie, it was just like a song, oh how this reminds me of when we were young." Beautiful track. Good album.

I know that it's not very cool to like Adele, but I would say that almost all of the Adele hate is thanks to the patriarchy and people who think she's lame are being manipulated by the media and the patriarchy...oop. The reason I think this is because people can never give legit reasons for why they think she's "shit" "boring" or "dreary", understandable that it won't be to everyone's taste but neither is Harry Styles and you don't see him getting much hate do you now? She is seriously creative and musically talented. I absolutely love Hello. I don't think people who say all Adele is good for is dreary piano ballads have their ears open tbh... There are heartfelt piano ballads which are her fall-back because they suit her voice so well, and then there's 80s sounding pop songs full of original intrigue. I also think Adele is a good lyricist although I know that's another thing people criticise about her, *eye roll* I Miss You is epic and catchy and makes me feel all the feels.

Well I know what some might think about Adele not owning prestige among the likes of this list but she is a fantastic song writer. I don't listen to Adele regularly but I did enjoy listening to this. All I Ask I think is my favourite Adele song. Some fantastic lyrics all round. I would say she is quite love focused right? A bit typical in that sense. But her use of chord sequence and melody is some of the best. Listened to this in the car and had a great time what can I say

Okay, I don’t usually listen to this type of music so I already had bad expectations but honestly this really surprised me. This album makes me levitate with some of the songs. I Miss You and Water Under the Bridge made me feel some type of way. This album focuses more on the vocals than anything and this was a good thing because Adele’s delivery of the lyrics were exceptional. Only knew her because of Hello but this now gave me another view on her. Most of the recognition went to Hello but I feel like she should get more praise for the other songs in this album.

Like I know she can sing, but she really really can sing! A couple of upbeat ones but yeh lots of sad and slow ones and maybe I get a bit bored after a while, but only a lil

Didn't think I was a huge Adele fan, but that voice is so powerful!

Yeah, yeah yeah it’s a great album, why is it so long?

Regardless of being removed from the list, this album is still a must listen. Adele might've come on so strong she may have overstayed her welcome, but this album is her in her full-swing. 4/5.

Before I listened to this album, I expected that my review of this album would note the absolutely sensational blockbuster hit, "Hello," but then find the rest of the album wanting, because surely the rest was a mere afterthought, right? But in this I was completely mistaken - there are a lot of great songs on this album; moreover, there is a cohesive thread of songwriting through the album. The songs are about getting older (the old, old age of 25) and learning about life, for better and worse. Of course, Adele's voice is just stellar and her vocals have an authenticity that transcends genre - she is a real talent. Now that I've dispelled my first notion that "Hello" was the only song worth listening to here, I will come back to this album and listen more.

Can’t deny that this album was fantastically produced with talented vocals and lush arrangements. I mean, I won’t listen to it again but whatever.

El resultat de '25' no és tan definitiu, però conté molts moments memorables, des de l'inicial 'Hello, 'I Miss You', 'Send My Love (to Your New Lover)', 'Million Years Ago', 'When We Were Young'...

What a set of pipes on this one. Adele has a phenomenal voice and the production does not get any better than this. No wonder that sales were through the roof - this is music that you can put on either in the background of a romantic dinner or for when you want a crowd to scream along to 'Hello'.

Pleasantly surprised to see Adele on this list - I have absolute no idea, why I didn’t expect that, when she so obviously belongs here. Adele, for me, is clearly at her strongest when the piano is at focus and everything is grandiose and a tad dark. Obvious highlights are “Hello” and “When We Were Young”, but “I Miss You” really is the one that takes my breath away. What a powerhouse of a track! On the other hand I don’t get the hype about “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” which I find totally misplaced and heartless. I really don’t need that much radio-pop on my Adele album. Nevertheless; on 25 Adele once again proves that she just might be her generations greatest singer. And that’s saying something.

I enjoy this album but it isn't her best. 21 is her best.

I'd never intentionally listened to Adele before this. I enjoyed it. She's incredibly talented. This isn't something I'd reach for but I don't dislike it.

8,5/10

im surprised that hello was the most overplayed track of this album, the rest is amazing great album. A worthy successor to 21

I like Adele quite a bit to be honest I like 25 but 21 is where it’s at. This is still good though I especially really liked River lea what a tune!

7/10. On one hand there are some great songs, on the other hand the style is just too consistent throughout the album to hold my attention all the way through.

Ehjä, upea albumi. Sopii niin tielle kuin vaikka lemmiskelyyn

Amazing voice, the deeper cuts start to border on cheesey/whiney.

so fucking good wow

One of the great voices of our generation. Often artists lose their stride by the 3rd album, But think this album managed to live up to 21. Few mediocre tunes but some brilliant ones.

I love her voice. She is powerful, and clear. Great arrangements around her

This is a solid album. Adele has a fantastic voice. It's definitely mood music but there's nothing wrong with that.

Great album and amazing voice

I've said it before - Adele is one of (if not) the best pop artists that has come along this century. She is also one of the best of all time. Great vocals, incredible lyrics - their combo brings out such emotion. Enough to give you goosebumps. Not sure if I love all the compositions - maybe she needs to choose her producers and collaborators better? Sometimes it just felt a little too over-produced (I Miss You, River Lea) when what I think would have been better was something more stripped down (emphasizing her talent). I think Hello is a bit overplayed but you can't deny its raw power - and it is a very minimal track as far as instruments go. Ditto When We Were Young. Send My Love and Water Under the Bridge have a bit more going on musically than others but I still love them - enchanting. The second half of the album wasn't quite as good as the first, though I appreciate it did feel more stripped down. I think her previous album was just a bit better. Not quite a 5 for me, but probably 4.5.

Listened Before? N I've heard selections from this album, and the first track was SO overplayed when it was current that it makes me want to NOT like the album... but in spite of that, I really enjoyed it. When We Were Young is my favorite, and that's what I've added to the playlist. Added to Library? N

There are just some very impressive moments on this album, Adele has one hell of a set of pipes.

Excellent pop. Well produced. Well played.

Great listen for being in your feeling. Water under the bridge was my favorite.

Great voice, music seems to get really heavy and dramatic though.

Thank goodness I’m hearing this today instead of 5 years ago, where I can finally separate the songs from the void of adult contemporary radio. Except for “Send My Love”, it’s not even a bad song but I’m still recovering from hearing it 20 too many times Highlights: “Hello”, “I Miss You”, “When We Were Young”, “River Lea”.

A bit long and not my favorite music, but essentially every song has enough of a hook to keep itself interesting and raise above just "nice sounding" music. Hello is an all time classic. Impressive.

Really enjoyed this album more than I thought I would. After listening to 30 and returning to this, it's noticeable just how much better and well-aged this album has lasted in comparison to her new one. Sure it's a lot of stripped-down piano and guitar ballads but I'm a fan of that shtick.

Some big hits on this album. Adele is an incredible singer/songwriter. The album as a whole is very good, but quite melancholy. I feel like this is the perfect album to listen to on a gloomy day.

muito agradável

I thought she was overrated but adele kinda came thru on this one. like every song in the first half is a banger, there were a few misses in the second half tho.

Obviously a powerful voice and I like the arrangements. The lyrics... as always I find it a little hard to take a 25 year old waxing philosophical about their deep relationship travails, and how time has changed them. Even setting that aside there is a lot of faux-deep that reveals pretty banal constructions on closer examination. But hey, sometimes that’s just what you’re looking for.

Adele has such a beautiful and powerful voice, and even though I'm not usually a fan of pop music, I can appreciate her talent. Hello and Send My Love are 5/5 songs to me. Send My Love always brings back fond memories of when I was in England and Scotland for vacation. This is one of the songs that kept playing on the radio and I always associate that song with that trip. Wonderful album overall.

Not her masterpiece, but a really solid follow up

I've always been reluctant to listen to Adele, often labelling her as miserable (true to an extent), but I enjoyed this album more than I expected to.

I think this album is overrated and all of the singles except send my love aren’t that great but it’s still Adele so it’s good even if it’s not as good as 19 or 21 or 30. All I need and send my love are the standouts

Pretty easy to see why this album was so popular

I feel like Adele is someone I shouldn't really like, only because I put her in the same category as artists like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion, and I really don't care for any of them. But damn it's hard not to like her. Such an amazing voice, coupled with powerful, emotional songs. 4 stars.

oh. just what i wanted to listen to today.

rly enjoyed listening to adele sing about sad shiht. that second song is a certified banger

"All I Ask" is so hauntingly gorgeous. Glad I got to re-visit this album again! As much as I love 21, this record's definitely up there as well.

Some really great tracks on the b side I liked it way more than I expected to

wow i liked this a lot more than i was expecting.

I did not expect this album to have no skips. It absolutely has no skips. This album is pop writing done incredibly well. Fantastically written and Adele’s voice is insane. This goes beyond the singles and is a solid album.

She has an amazing voice and I really enjoyed this album but I will say that her song style are similar.

Strong album from Adele. Only a couple tracks that were more pop that I thought were a bit weak. I could listen to power ballads all day. Hello is 10/10 and also really liked Sweetest Devotion.

21 is more consistent, but 25 has the higher highs. Best track: Hello

She’s a good singer and although I enjoyed her hits, I am definitely not into pop. I can’t say that most of her songs are memorable.

Not usually my bag but she is undeniably sensational

Vocals that are as slippery and enticing as an eel ad. Some big songs, mixed with a few middle-of-the-roads.

Mjög góð plata. Þarf að stúdera nánar.

Adele is a breath of fresh air. Real songs and a real voice with no auto tune

big songs, not sure i can take a full album of it, but the compositions are a notch above her peers

White women love this shit. So does this white boy. Maybe not AS much - I'm Team Taylor, she won me over with the Folklore/Evermore Combo all the way back in 2020. You don't want to wrong Adele, unless you want an album about how you done her wrong.

Muy buen disco

This is one of the first records that Walden really liked. I haven't listened since he was probably 2-3 years old. So, 5ish years. As soon as I heard the first chords of "Hello" I was struck. This is such a good record and she is an amazing talent. I don't think the production is going to stand the test of time. Which is a shame, because Adele doesn't need any of that shit. Her talent is timeless, but it can't overcome those muted drum sounds for a perfect score.

Adele is Adele. I already knew her and this album. Okay, she might have been inspired by some song here or there, so to say, yet this is a good piece. She deserves it.

One I was already familiar with before this experiment. Loved getting a chance to listen to the album!

A classic. Of course.

It is a modern classic!

This album is actually a jam all the way through. The writing is a little repetitive but is more mature and nuanced than a lot of pop. It's cool that she mostly writes her own material (albeit with cowriters).

Grande cantora, mas arranjos ok. Não surpreende positivamente

starts off with a bang, but it gets taken over by this gospel choir, facebook memories slideshow affectation partway through that didn't grab me like 21 did. felt less adventurous. still some great stuff. favorite song is I Miss You. solid 3

Good album tracks.

Oh wow, how did I never realize that this is so… not great??? I’ve always liked 19 and 21 best, but I think I Stockholm syndromed myself into thinking 25 was almost on their level. It’s not! Absolutely mid, with allowances for my own nostalgia.

Very popular. Worth a listen to every now and then. But is listening to someone being unhappy a healthy thing to do?

I’m glad to hear some fun here, at least compared to 21. She’s an amazing singer, but her records start to feel more like an academic exercise than “music for fun” after a while.

nostalgic but not crazy bout it tbh, not tryna be mean but i dont like album covers where they just stare at you, scary... issgnofgnofufbhuo

Hello - growing up listening to radio pop with my mom nearly made me skip this song from how overplayed this was, but upon relistening to it I have found that this is a really good song Send my love - oh my glob this one too, I didn't know what this was called When we were young - very beautiful song, great lyrical storytelling River Lea - good bass groove with the drums

Opening track is strong, the rest not so much.

Alright I like the first two songs

she's a heck of a singer

all good pop songs on paper. Just a bit too much and too ornamented singing for my taste, and too many love songs.

Let me preface this with saying that I don't like this kind id music. It's style over substancje and way too much fluff. But even then, this album is a very nice listen. I'd probably rate this a lot higher if I was into this kind of music, but even I have to admit it's good.

Not great, not terrible.

I’ve never listened to an Adelle album before, and by 3 songs in Inwas wondering if I’d missed a trick. Not to fear, it went downhill from there and became predictably cheesy for the duration. Solid songwriting, but not my thing and very much what I’d expected.

I am not her audience lol

It was decent. I have never loved Adele, but I did like I Miss You. Favorite song and Highlight I Miss You

Excellent vocals. Not my sound but can certainly see the appeal.

Not a helpful album to listen to at this moment

She's got talent but chooses to play it so safe

Couple banger ballads for the lads in here. Her voice is just insane. Might be recency bias but going to give this one a 3, but it's a strong 3. Pretty simple musically, but her voice carries it. Fave Songs: When We were young, Send my Love

Adele is great. Powerful voice with no gimmicks. The songwriting here is just slightly above-average (21 is the masterpiece), but she is completely naked with her intentions and message, and that is admirable.

Ok. I don’t like this kind of pop music. It all sounds the same to me. It’s ok while I’m listening to it. What I mean by that is that it’s unobjectionable… most of the time. It just doesn’t stick to me. I forget about it seconds after I hear it. There’s usually no musical hook. It’s just kind of moves forward without going anywhere. That being said… this is probably as good as this style of pop music is going to get. This lady is a great singer. I get it. She sings with so much emotion and power. It’s moving. Almost manipulative. If you’re heartbroken or one of your parents just died, don’t listen to this… or do if you want to cry. You’re going to cry. Maybe that’s what you need. It’s sad piano music for people who need a good cry, but if you’re one of those emotionally healthy people who needs to cry a lot, this is as good as it gets. I don’t want to cry. I have things to do today. 3.3

I know I should probably love this album, but it’s just ok. She certainly has the pipes, but a songlist of romantic dirges is a tough listen. Some of the individual songs are good, so…3.

Redelijke pop, verveeld op de helft

Lovely 1. Hello 2. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) 3. When We Were Young

There's something about this record that makes it boring. I think it has to do with what feels like stripped back instrumentals. Favourite Track(s): Hello, Love In the Dark, All I Ask Least Favourite Track(s): Water Under The Bridge, Love In The Dark

Kinda the same thing as 21 but not as effective this time around. Somehow this album sounds a lot more synthetic, overproduced despite sounding quite simple. Her vocals still shine and carry these songs, but it's not something I would listen to over 21.

Prior to this adventure, I had never really listened to Adele. Now, less than 300 albums into this project, this is my second album of hers after "21". That record surprised me in a positive way. This one, by comparison, was something of a letdown - lacking both the strength of tunes and the emotional edge of that prior record. That said, it's still a solid album, and her performances are equally as strong even if the songwriting isn't.

Very listenable but nothing-y

Incredible talent but not my genre

Another prime candidate for a list of 1001 Albums I Just Don’t Understand The Love For. She’s got a great voice, she seems like a nice enough person, but this just feels unexceptional. I think she deserves to be on a list of 1001 great singers, but this wouldn’t even be the album of hers that I would choose.

I enjoyed this much more than I expected to honestly, even though I wouldn’t listen to most of it again haha. I also can’t rate it too highly as it’s not really adding anything new in my opinion, although I don’t think it’s trying to? She has a formula and she certainly sticks to it. Despite not having heard a lot on this album before, Adele is sonically very nostalgic to me, having grown up listening to her music on the radio and singing along to her with school friends etc. She kind of exists as this ubiquitous pop juggernaut, I never really consider if I’m a fan of her or not beyond her big hits, although I liked some of the lesser known songs on this album. I like her more uptempo songs on this track (Send My Love, I Miss You, Water Under The Bridge) I’m less of a fan of the slower ballads as I think they pale in comparison to some of her earlier work in that style and I’m less inclined to enjoy songs like that anyway. I also like how this album isn’t TOO LONG! Some other artists could take note. Anyways.

That album kinda went by without me noticing.

i think i've only ever heard Hello in the past on the radio, so this will be a fresh listen for me Hello - 4/5 Send My Love (To Your New Lover) - 1/5 I Miss You - 3/5 When We Were Young - 4/5 Remedy - 3/5 Water Under the Bridge - 4/5 River Lea - 2/5 Love in the Dark - 4/5 Million Years Ago - 3/5 All I Ask - 2/5 Sweetest Devotion - 3/5 Average score: 3/5 correction: i've heard a quite a few tracks off this album, mostly from dumb/cringy tiktok posts personally, Adele's albums generally don't do it for me like they do for others, and this album further solidifies that for me. she's undoubtedly a talented vocalist, i think that's the one saving grace of her discography. however, similar to how others here have mentioned, i feel like she has nothing more to offer than songs about wallowing in her heartbreak or saying goodbye to past love(s). it's a little old for me personally maybe the excessive exposure i've had to most of these tracks from TikTok has turned me off from the album all together, idk. i'm kinda just over these kinds of albums from her, and i can't help that. i've yet to listen to 30, and maybe (hopefully) she's gone a different direction for that album

this and 1989 by taylor swift transport me back to being a 9 year old in the backseat of car being assaulted by these songs constantly being replayed on the radio. The only difference in retrospect 1989 was pretty good. this aside from a few songs was kind of jus boring anyways heres the rick ross remix of hello that i just discovered existed https://youtu.be/5A0qtVHaX9w?si=3TBl8oqg5Hkgj-9I

Quite nice, Adèle has a beautiful voice. The whole thing feels a bit bland though

This has all the elements of something I SHOULD love, a clearly gifted vocalist, interesting musical choices, phenomenal recording mixing and engineering, throw in some good 'ol fashioned depresso esspresso and I should be fully on board. For whatever reason this elicits zero emotional response from me. That doesn't mean this isn't good work, it clearly is... it just doesn't resonate with me.

Adele has a reliably quality voice, in fact it's absolutely great and no wonder she is so globally adored. However, this album didn't really catch our attention too much.

fine. less annoying than 21 because it is less overplayed. my adele opinions remain the same

Pas mon préf

Hello aside, nothing to see here

I generally understand why Adele is so huge and popular, even if this gets a bit too bland radio pop. Some great singles.

I think this album has a lot going for it. She's obviously a great singer and it's obvious that a lot of effort when into the entire writing and recording process. The end result clearly captured the hearts of a lot of people. The complaints I see in negative reviews seem a bit piddling and at times even spiteful.

Pretty good

Don't remember anything other than Hello. might relisten, might not.

This album cover makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Jesus, woman, Back up a little. Also, where is her neck? Why do I have to stare at a floating head staring back at me with those totally vacant eyes for 48 minutes? Why did her floating head need to be close enough to the camera for me to be able to count the individual pores on her face? The cover raises way too many questions that probably can't be answered. I at least need to know why she decided to wear a black turtleneck for that headshot. Anyways, enough about the damn mugshot. The music is fine. It definitely gets better as it goes on, but I'm probably just saying that because I found out that I can get through the album by looking away from my PC. Hello is a perfect pop song, though.

25 going on 75

Overhated, far from her best album but no where near as bad as RYM would have you believe. Hello really takes me back to a simpler time when that was the most popular meme format Second half is a lot less interesting however

WWWY-booringggg Remedy- boorringggggg Best song-sweetest devotion

Not her best

hello, adele. hi. do i know you? of course. is that a spider-man: no way home reference? also of course. i've all grown up since when i first listened to hello on repeat when i seperated from my ex two years ago. i still pretentiously tears up listening to the song and all the emotion. all those apology and self reflection is kinda useless in retrospect. i am fucked up and he is also fucked up mentally, we are both in bad places. yet im not that trying to do better and tonight is the day that i listen to 25 in its full for the first time. i can write about what im feeling since its yet still so complicated. ive felt emotions, went to places, changed a lot and 25 somehow wrote itself into my life. i still remember how i listened to hello when i separated from him screaming the lyrics in the karaoke, as if all the time are eternal and stuff. i cant write anymore about this so time to rate. 3/5

ADELE (/əˈdɛl/) - a British-born diva of the highest rate. 25 ( /ˈtwɛnti faɪv/) - a collection of mating and distress calls, particularly appealing and soothing to the emotions of the species Felidae Puma Desperitus (the North American Divorced Cougar). It is traditionally played in coffee shops, malls, upscale nightclubs and other habitats where urban cougars are known to gather and hunt, and is used to keep them pacified. When weaponized, 25 can be used as an aphrodisiac by anyone attempting to attract a cougar, simply by pairing these sounds with a Chardonnay or Zinfandel from Kim Crawford, Josh or Barefoot Vineyards. This combination is particularly effective in enticing older cougars out for potential mating activity. Proceed with caution.

Remarkable voice. Songs range from very good to fine. None are great, most are a bit overproduced, but her voice carries the day.

Beautiful voice. Boring album

I should say now that I'm entirely pro 'pop albums stuffed with love songs.' Not everything needs to be juicy or hyperspecific or deeply confessional. There are songs here that do blend together (and the 2nd track STINKS) but it is hard to deny that Adele's voice is wonderful and her songwriting is solid. If the album had more songs on the level of "Hello", it would probably get a higher rating, but the fact that there is one at all means this is worth your time. Do the moms have the music? Maybe this time, but I'm still not sold on Alanis Morrisete.

Super dramatic production. I swear I hear an 808 or two. ‘Hello’ is super dated, and the songs that aren’t hits are weak. When We Were Young, Love in the Dark, and All I Ask are great. Karaoke belters.

3/5 Many of the songs sound the same, and musically are very uninteresting. Theres a couple strong songs on here. Sweetest devotion is very good and maybe my favorite vocal performance of hers. Her song writing is good and theyre very heartfelt lyrics. Million Years ago was another good song. Not as big as fan of hello as I thought i would be. Very run-on. Overall. Musically lacking but her voice helps make up for it.

A few too many lyrical cliches and stale arrangements detract from her stunning vocal chops

I dont listen to Adele but respect

This is a sweeping album full of lush ballads. Not typically my thing, but its hard not to respect that voice and delivery.

***A good easy listening album

Best Track - "Hello"

Me gustó, nunca lo había escuchado entero.

Buen álbum. Tiene canciones muy conocidas por ahí. Típico de Adele, la bancamos. Love in the dark fue mi fav.

Her vocal talent is obviously great, but the album is a little boring at times. Not many songs really blow you away, which is a bit of a let down considering her talent. 3/5 Probably won't listen again

Beautiful voice. Boring songs.

I don’t love this as much as 21 but my god When We Were Young is such a song.

I mean, this album was everywhere when it came out, so a lot of songs were well familiar to me. It feels a bit safer compared to the other Adele albums, keeping it between the lines. The album could have had a bit more variety for it to be even better. 3/5

Sure. This is fine.

Ballads are obviously her thing but I can't listen to them one after another. A lot of people were involved and it sounds like it. Some songs sounds like they could have been written for anyone.

Adele has a voice everyone should envy but I was actually unconvinced by the songs themselves which I was surprised by but that’s what this is all about I guess.

I've never really listened to Adele. She's always just **been there**. Kind of like wallpaper. Fine but nothing you'd really go out of your way to notice. I'm probably not the target audience for this album but there's some good songs on here and some absolute snoozers.

Gotta say, I didn’t enjoy this as much as the last one. This has a lot of ballads. Her voice is amazing. But the record got repetitive and the lyrics weren’t her best.

Good but nowhere close to her others

Starting this up, I was excited to hear more of Adele since I had only really heard Hello off this album. Unfortunately, it felt like she recorded 11 versions of Hello. Just really boring to me unfortunately.

these songs are just overplayed and were annoying to hear again, some songs near the end of the album reminded me of my breakup which was a bit sad

A mí Adele me deja frío. “I Miss You” me mola un poquito.

This gives middle aged horn-dog woman. Which explains why my preteen sons hated it passionately.

I gave 21 five stars, but this falls short of that. Nothing here leaves you completely blown away, despite her voice remaining top notch. Some of the instrumentation wanders into cheesy adult contemporary territory. There aren't any terrible tracks, but also no true gems to bouy the project up. 3/5 from me.

21 was surprisingly good beginning to end. This one falls off pretty hard outside of a few standout compositions.

Some of the best Adele bangers. Not that musically creative, but the lyrics hit

Adele is one of the great singers however I preferred her album 21.

As I said in my review of 21 (2011), she can sing. Her voice is amazing. These are generally good songs. It’s an album I’d visit every now and then.

Hello it's me

I mean. It's Adele. What else is there to say I do have to say it's not my usual style of music, and if it were someone else I wouldn't stand it that much, but her vocals make up for so much of it. Also there's so many iconic songs in this album nad it's just *cheffs kiss* Not sure what my favourite song is yet, and I'll give it s couple listens, but so far it's great!!!!!! it's not my favourite type of music, so I'll give it a 3, maybe?? i won't be listening to it again i think

I was kind of surprised by how many songs I recognized from this album. Makes sense, as I remember this album being huge. While I’ll probably never enjoy this album as much as the millions of moms around the world that love it, it’s a pretty decent R&B album. Adele has a phenomenal voice, and there are some catchy songs. Didn’t really hold my attention that strongly, but it was a pleasant listen.

Despite all the changes in music over the years people still love a singer of Standards. Adele at her peak was a throwback in the face of all the other pop stars in the 2010s. We're getting this now again in 2026 with Olivia Dean (another Brit, of course) - but it's proof that if you have a powerful voice and are singing catchy, booming songs about love lost and found there will always be an audience. 25 is not an improvement on its predecessor and doesn't really break new ground but it shouldn't be surprising that the best song "Send My Love to Your New Lover" is Max Martin produced. But still, it's an Adele album. I don't love it but it's hard to be upset if you hear it in a grocery store or a waiting room either. Sometimes inoffensive background music is perfectly fine.

Adele is great, but she's not quite my tempo

adele is so unbelievably talented and there are some unquestionable bangers on here, but at the end of the day this specific style of music just doesn't do it for me as a whole.

Adele obviously has a beautiful and powerful voice, and I do think her songs perfectly showcase that. She is soulful and deep, and can also be subdued and poignant. I can't say this is my particular type of music that I enjoy on my own, but it is good in its own rites.

A 3 just because I didn't like it a lot. I prefer Florence and the Machine, but it's just my opinion.

A mixed of overplayed radio hits + really sad ballads. I think this album needs more time and distance to become a higher rating for me. It is really good, I just can't distance it from its cultural phenomenon.

Cracking, not my thing

Not as strong as "21", but still good. Adele's a great vocalist and one of the few modern pop artists I like. The best track is probably "Hello". I also like "River Lea", but I get burnt out on that track easily. The chorus on "When We Were Young" is pretty good. Side note: As someone that was listening to the radio when "Hello" and "Send My Love" came out, it boggles me that they're on the same album.

Amazing amazing voice, great songwriting, wanted to give it 4 stars for being great, but generally it's not for me - for my taste, too downbeat and sad, so something I'll usually avoid putting on, either by myself or with fam or friends.

Songs played everywhere so instantly recognisable. This was a massive record in it's time. The voice is impeccable but the tracks are a bit vanilla. Now I love vanilla but something outside the comfort zone might be nice. And at 25 can you really reminisce about "when we were young"? Not exactly groundbreaking stuff.

Copied from my Adele - 21 review, because I still feel pretty much the same about 25: "Adele obviously has a phenominal voice. She can belt it but also has a great raspy lower range. This style of like pop-ballads or whatever you call this genre isn't for me though. Its just forgettable outside of the couple singles that the radio played on repeat a decade ago. Musically there's not much going on - just your standard studio band playing some slower tunes. Adele is the star: you came for her and you get her singing love songs very well." I will say, this album starts out so strong. The first few songs are very good, then it just kinda melts back into the same song over and over. The last song is a banger too, so thankfully it ends on a high note. I was hoping to give this album a better rating than the last, and I do think it's slightly better, but it's still a 3 for me. Pleasant, but outside of the singles, not really my jam. Standouts were "Hello," "Send My Love," "Water Under the Bridge" and "Sweetest Devotion"

3 sterne

while her voice is pretty powerful, and her albums are personal and sincere, i find that the production that accompanies her music is really functional but quite simple for me. Maybe my mood made me not connect as i should.

i’m not sure what to rate this as - to me the whole album sounds like being fourteen years old and going through it…i still love adele’s voice and generally like her songs, but i can’t tell for certain whether this is actually a good album or not-3 stars for now because i got a little melancholic and confused.

Stupendous voice. Emotion, parole des sentiments. Clair, rien de trop, pas surchargé. Puissance.

I thought I would like this more than I did

Adele, Adele, Adele i feel bad for you girl, every album you write it seems as though you are going through some deep shit. Like I would honestly kinda love if you wrote your songs about something else... see what you come up with.. like what'd you have for breakfast? Rolling in the deep coulda been rolling in the hashbrowns, Hello? Rename it scrambled eggs, atleast then maybe itd be a bit more interesting. Dont get me wrong, I love Adele, she has an amazing voice.. but I would rank 21, and 30 much higher than 25. Even though they're also all about love and heartbreak, they have a bit more oomph. 25 feels like its reaching for 21's success and depth. 30 feels like it went back to not trying so hard and in turn the songs have more of a creative edge and uniqueness. 25 is like Adeles awkward middle child. There is one song on here I did really like, thay being A million years ago, and even then it still doesn't amount to the love I have for 30, and 21. Wasn't bad, her singing is great, this album just feels a bit plain compared with her other albums that im already well familiar with (especially 30, love that album) Maybe im just talking out of my ass and none of this makes sense, but Im sticking with my ass guns here and giving this one a 6.5/10. Looking forward to listening to 21 thats also on this list, and I will be listening to 30 sometime soon as its not on this list and it makes me feel like I'm a mid 30s mom who loves wine, chocolate, and screaming loudly at my son lil Jimmy at his hockey games. Didn't realize i had so much to say here about Adele lol...

Some of the bigger hits just feel so polished I find it hard to latch on to (Send My Love To Your New Lover, for example). But the songwriting is great and Adele has one of the best voices of our generation - 7/10

Sweetest Devotion.

did not expect to know about half of this album already. I was not looking forward to listen to it, and i don’t think i will revisit, but definitely a great album to listen to. Too ballady for me, and it feels more directed towards older audiences, but Adele’s voice and songwriting really is amazing. I’d say All I Ask was my favorite. Definitely understand better why she is so popular. I’m pretty sure this is the divorce or breakup album, so I really wish she gave more for someone with such great vocals and writing. Every song i’ve heard from her sounded the same and has the same vibe, and i expected like other artist for the album deep cuts to bring in something new, but i found the same middle-aged mom vibe throughout. I hope she innovates more and takes more risk with 30, if I ever get around to listening to it.

Adele is the real deal and can sing! I’m just not that into this music.

Belter- good but sorta repetitice

Top Songs: Send My Love (To Your New Lover) When We Were Young Water Under the Bridge

Heartfelt, maybe even heartbreaking in places. Her voice is so powerful I forget it’s not the only thing happening on the record.

Adele has a great and powerful and the music is good too so it's difficult to dislike this album. My only criticism is that the tracks are a little 'samey'. Perhaps that's what you get when it's a single artist with a particular singing style?

I mean, her voice is amazing but no song seemed amazing to me.

Iconic

Very good singer. Just not my bag.

now that’s what I call songs I can play on the piano 56

She has a great voice and "Hello" is a great song! "Send My Love" and "Water Under The Bridge" are good as well. And the rest of the well-produced album is at least o.k. Strong three stars for her "25". 3,5

A great big voice placed front and center on simple compositions. The many ballads didn't offer much expansion or exploration.

I was excited about this one as I like some of her more popular songs but unfortunately there weren't any hidden jems.

Not bad, great voice.

as far as megastars go, adele is a pretty amazing one. "hello" is pretty boring and staid, but "send my love" has something magnificent going on with it.

A well sung and well produced album with lots of ballads on it...about what I expected. I did enjoy listening to it, and there were a few standout tracks, like "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)". Overall, not quite my cup of tea, but I dig it enough to enjoy if someone else had this album on.

I liked this and think I might like it more with a few more listens. I added “When We Were Young” to my Generator playlist.

Cant think of one occassion where I would put this on, so I have been puting this one of for a long time. And once I did listen to it - damn it blew me away, I mean, I can't think of a single person that would deny she's one of the greatest voices of our time. That said, I still don't listen to this kind of music, even though her voice got me in aw.

Beautiful voice and musical backing, just not my thing

A compilation of whale sounds

Booho I guess. Incredible vocals as always, super heartfelt writing as well. Not as good as 21.

Not really my type of music, but I can appreciate it for what it is. Of course Adele's vocal talent and the orchestral(? - not sure if this is the right term) production of some songs are fantastic, but when I listen to music I want a BANGER. The cadence in which she sings the chorus of "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" annoys me honestly and the instrumental sounds like boring corporate slop. Definitely my least favourite song from here. Like it's worse than just being boring, it actively bugs me. "I Miss You" which plays right afterwards is a LOT better. I think my favourite is "River Lea". The thing that confuses me is um.. she was only 25 when this album was first being made? And most of these songs are about lamenting the loss of your youth?? Why are you acting like you're middle aged at 25??? I guess that's what having a kid at 24 does to you.

Rating 6/10 Best Song - Hello

Song no. 1 is great. Other than that, not one of Adele's best albums. Doesn't mean that she is not an excellent singer song writer.

3 Stars. Maybe even 3.5 Nothing wrong with the album, but it's also not something I'll come back to again. It's just okay, but I do kinda like it more than a just okay album. Not sure if that makes sense.

21 ist sehr viel besser 3/5

*pokes Adele with a stick repeatedly* C'mon, Adele! Do something fun! C'mon! This is one of the most redundant album I've ever heard. All the same themes lyrically throughout. About the only way she changes it up, is to be more upbeat. We get it. You've had heartbreak. And you think you're old at 25. She can sing, that's for true. Vary your lyrical themes lady! 3

I love Adele but this is just not my favourite Adele.

i think the other Adele albums are better

Pretty good overall; but don’t care for “Hello”

Solid, not in love with every track, but the strong vocals keep it afloat across the board. Water under the bridge is the standout.

Probably better than you expect. This is my second Adele album on this list, which is the only reason I'd ever think to listen to them. I had about the same thought as I did when the first one came up. "Prolly not for me. I know her voice is good, but I hate this pop diva crap!" Even though I was already turned around by that first album, 19. There's just no way this pop gal has strong enough chops for a second album of quality. Well, here we are with another album that is quite listenable. And like the other, it's got 2 or 3 songs that are simply great along with 2-3 that are pretty good, and 5-6 that are just filler. Reading about these albums was an eye opener! Both are on the lists of biggest selling albums ever and have won dozens of awards. Since I don't follow the pop stuff, I was amazed at all the accolades. But this isn't an accolades list. This list/exercise is about "Is it Important, Imperative, or Influential?" I'm not really sure if it's influential. There sure does seem to be a lot of pop divas out there. But there always were. I do think I recall reading how some of them were influenced by Adele to be better songwriters and to experiment with musical styles. That's a good thing. Anyway, back to this one. The first and last songs are great! She's got writing credits, but every song seems to be written by at least 2 or 3 others, too. I gotta wonder how much she's responsible for. Either way, the most important thing is her voice. She's got pipes! And it's not all just runs, trills, and melisma. It's belting it out with emotion. One note is that the emotion is usually heartbreak. I'd like a little more Major chord emotion. I'll put a couple of songs on my lists, but I don't imagine myself coming back to listen to the whole compilation again. It's too much mid-tempo crooning. It's ok, but it's not for me. I'd call this a 3 mostly based on the couple of singles that are soooo good. And her strong voice makes me want to hear her do something different, just for fun. Sit in with a rock band sometime, Adele. Let's hear it! Note: I find it hilarious to hear someone that is 25 singing "When We Were Young"!

I listened to Hello and thought: "Wow this is a huge improvement from 21" and then 6 songs went by and it was all in one ear and out the other. Love In The Dark was good, but besides that everything on this album is just sooooooo generic and boring. She is a good singer, but man... I just don't care about this type of music. Low 3.

Jake: 6.8/10 I mean cmon it’s Adele, one of the finest vocalists people with ears have had the pleasure of hearing. Having said that, this album didn’t hit for me for several reasons: the production made it sound like everything on the radio in 2015, and i prefer Adele’s more bluesy/soul approach to her songs. If another vocalist had recorded this album i don’t think it would be very noteworthy. Greg: 6.0 what Jake said. Also never really been a big fan of this kind of balladry Annie: "oh my god I want to submit my review before Jake because he always says what im about to say"

Nice album, what a voice! But a bit too vanilla and repetitive for me. When We Were Young is my song of the album and Hello and Sweetest Devotion being my other highlights (with Sweetest Devotion being my fav first listen of the album)

Basically what I expected.A few standout tracks though .

Includes some pretty good songs, but they are all so similar that they bleed into one another after a while.

As other have commented and rating here, I will also say that overexposure to Adele songs worked against her! Yes, her voice is great and is a ver talented singer, but this is the kind of music I cannot stand no more . they pushed way too much this into our years Giving a 3 for her voice but, please, I would die happily without having to listen to her again :-(

There were a handful of songs I've enjoyed. Most of it was about not being young anymore, but 25 is still young.

I am here for music, not singing. Adele is awesome though. 3/5

Adele's voice is incredible. I loved seeing it showcased on songs like "All I Ask" or "I Miss You". She is captivating and is good at making you feel the emotion in the story being told. I knew so many songs off the album, never having listened to it -- Pop music is Adele's game which can be a bit of a downfall in terms of crafting genuinely interesting music I think. Also, being 26, I am amazed at the level of success she had at 25.

Hello, It's Me 1001 Albums Generator 230 (2/18/2026) The fluoride stare on the cover is crazy lol. Adele is one of those artists that's just so much larger than life; one of those that everyone knows multiple songs by, even if unwittingly. On this album alone, you have Hello, Send My Love, and When We Were Young, the latter two of which I had no idea that I had heard before, but they were immediately familiar. Hello is just like nothing to me because it's so overplayed, but it's objectively a totally fine pop song. Also, the drums on I Miss You are so huge, it makes me feel like I'm listening to a U2 song or something (positive connotation). This is probably the greatest moment on 25. Unfortunately, after the first 4 songs, we get a stretch of quite bland ballads. I do like how Million Years Ago sounds almost like Adele's take on Bossa Nova or something. Overall, I liked 25 more than I thought I would, but it catfished me into thinking that I was uncovering a gem of pop music, when instead it's just a totally passable take at the genre. 3/5. Favs: Send My Love (To Your New Lover) I Miss You When We Were Young Least Fav: Remedy

And with this, I have listened to every album on the 1001 Albums list from 2015. Granted, there's only 4 of them, but they're all pretty different from each other. I mean, you've got an interesting African blues rock album with the Songhoy Blues record, a great late-era work from one of the best female music artists of the past 30 years with Vulnicura, a genuine contender for "greatest hip-hop album of all time" with To Pimp a Butterfly, and Adele's 25. For some this is the least interesting of the 4 albums and while I can see why that is, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. I do think that Adele's fame over the past 15 years or so has been incredibly warranted as she is very talented. Her voice is great and her songwriting is pretty respectable too. But from what I've seen, 25 is pretty divisive with music nerds, particularly on the production front. Why is that? Well, 25 is, to put it bluntly, a modern pop album. Music nerds don't really gravitate towards these sorts of things. Admittedly, I do prefer the more balanced style of 21, but 25 isn't bad, okay? Dare I say the album is actually quite good. As far as the songs go, "Hello" is easily the album's biggest hit. Sure, I've heard the song a few too many times as someone who was in fact alive in 2015, but I can't bring myself to dislike it. It's a good song. "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" is probably where the production is at its poppiest and the result is definitely interesting. It's not my favorite song on the album, but it's not bad either. "When We Were Young" is nice. None of the album's songs are bad. I think the album's general themes and emotional focuses are commendable. I will say that 21 is easily the better of the two Adele albums on the list, but I still think that 25 is a pretty solid album. Maybe not as special as 21, but still a respectable album as far as 2010s pop albums are concerned. Strong 3/5.
