Like the South Side of the Sky track, struggle with synth prog rock with rambling instrumental epochs, solid 3 on balance.
In my all time top 10 albums, absolutely my frequency, love the gravely blues vocals on The Changeling & Been Down So Long, the epic classic rock of LA Women and the psychedelic rock trip of Riders on the Storm, Hyacinth House is a personal favourite that is maybe overlooked along with L'America, no doubt this album is the best Doors album in my opinion and a solid 5 always
Weird electronic surf rock type music thing, grows on you after the twentieth listen (not new to Suicide or this album), always been perplexed as to why it is so renowned, often hit skip on Suicide tracks that pop in a playlists, probably wouldn't shell out for a physical copy any time soon, it's a 'meh' 3 and that's only because, sometimes (when planets align), I like the first few tracks on the album, past half time it's just ambient drivel.
A classic Christmas album of its time, if you have to endure Christmas music you can do much much worse.
Still relevant social commentary cleverly woven together in an album length lyrical story of poor decisions, misfortune and small triumphs.
It's a great album, melancholy with country undertones and guitar work on par with the likes of Nick Drake ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Good lo-fi tunes, I actually don't hate it ⭐⭐⭐
Not really my 'go to' kind of rock (bit too balladry with a sprinkling of lyrical cheese) but solid for what it is ⭐⭐⭐
Horrendous elevator music (first track Birland), the kind easy listening jazz fusion type stuf that brings me out in a rash. Not for me really, might be the first one star, let's see. Okay it got slightly more tolerable further along, still not really my thing though ⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐
A new discovery for me, interesting stuff, being a Zappa fan this hit the mark for me ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I didn't know I liked this album this much but ended up playing through it three times, wasn't totally unfamiliar with it just not really properly listened to it, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
For the childhood memories ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Country music (especially this type classic country music, for want of better description) really isn't my thing, but I didn't entirely hate spending time listening to this album, seemed an interesting mixed of soul and pop influences on some of tracks, with not too much of the typical cringe worthy country lyrics,⭐⭐⭐
Not terribly exciting, surprised I found this album a lot more 'meh' then I thought I would, it's good and I appreciate Eric Clapton's guitar work it was just not entirely the kind of blues rock I get overly excited about ⭐⭐⭐
Not properly listened to this box-set before, it really is very good (listened through the whole set twice), giving George five stars on this one (wish you could do half stars on this website, probably better as 4.5 star), love so many of the songs and the feel/vibe of the album, will be working on acquiring a physical copy, a classic piece of work ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's a slow burner, but I like it, prefer Richards' rockery albums (like Standing at the Sky's Edge) but there are some nice tracks on this album (not heard it before) such as Coles Corner and The Ocean, probably a 3.5 star ⭐⭐⭐
Not heard this album before, took me a couple of run throughs to get it, always struggle a bit to get into the classic Paul Simon 'jingle jangle' sounds, on the surface the lyrical content seems a bit random but a closer inspection reveals clever use of words and poignant analogies. It went from a two, to three and ended up landing at a "I need a physical copy" four ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yay country... 🫤 Yeah nah, this might be the first 1⭐, I'm sure it's very clever but two songs in it's bringing me out in a rash, really hate this type of country music soz.
Landed at ⭐⭐ = don't like, wouldn't buy, recommend or listen to willingly again 😆
Always a mixed bag with dear old Brucey, love his more melancholy darker tunes and themes, the more upbeat stuff not so much (especially the songs with the 'rock sax' which instantly starts up 'Santa's Coming to Town' my head and is an instant turnoff). Landed at ⭐⭐⭐⭐, would seek a physical copy.
The kind of pop music really isn't my jam, I thought it was going to be my first one star but horn and windwood arrangements dragged it to a ⭐⭐, generally though the warbling vocals (although a tremendous set of lungs) are a bit grating, some good feminist lyrical content but mostly more puerile pop culture themes persist. Would not listen to willingly again.
Okay dokey, French language show tunes today, not sure how to rate this😆, an indifferent ⭐⭐⭐ I think...
The Message song is a classic (but leads my mind to GTA Miami 😆), the album hasn't aged well though and goes pretty R&B cheesy in places
Okay apart from a couple of very well known tracks, as an album I found it to be a bit of an electronic yawn-fest, surprisingly boring unfortunately ⭐⭐⭐
Never heard the album, was only familiar with the Brimful of Asha song (which had personal significance), really enjoyed as an album, solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐, would seek physical copy 😁
Never really got much into Rush, that has not changed a great deal listening to this (twice), not really the kind of progressive rock I can get into too much (a bit too cheesy for my liking), although being force to listen to a Rush album from start to finish I definitely appreciate the guitar work, it definitely rocks hard, find the vocals and lyrical content somewhat off putting, ⭐⭐⭐ (3.5 really)
First time listening to this album, really enjoyed, would seek physical copy, probably a 4.5 so rounding up ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
F*CK YES!
Ah the patchy memories of youth... young, dumb and full of internalised anger😆
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Okay never heard this album or artist before (I don't think), really nice sound (country rock-ish), enjoyed listening, interesting back story, would seek physical copy, 3.5 so rounding up to ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ah the age old struggle to like RUSH, intensely irritated by the Tom Sawyer opener (have always disliked that track, a hard skip if it pops up in a playlist), I just can't vibe with RUSH very well, not my kind of jam, I like progressive rock but not the borderline cheesy stuff like this, Witch Hunt is probably the best track, ⭐⭐⭐
Yeah a new one on me, looked at the date (1993) and wondered how I had not heard of this artist but then had a listen and can understand why, 90's pop rock was not my favourite in the 90's and that hasn't changed, not my thing, I find it to be very boring, really don't like this album much ⭐⭐
Never heard of artist or album before, really enjoyed, very good, acoustic Alt-j, would definitely seek physical copy and add to favourites ⭐⭐⭐⭐
As an album, fairly average outside the 2-3 hit songs, probably a ⭐⭐⭐ to be fair
First time actually listening to the whole album, actually not too bad as an album, would seek physical copy for sure, can hear why it's a classic ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Heard Tusk all the way through several times now, not sure I understand why it's so revered, I find it to be a pretty average collection of songs (couple of classics in there), don't really hear any sort of "but as an album" cohesion, honestly I find it kind of bland, ⭐⭐⭐
I appreciate the artistic licence but really struggling to appreciate this one, the first half dozen 'arrangements' could use a bit of foreplay & lube, but gets mildly interesting in the middle, don't mind the albums name sake Kollaps (I think being a Swans fan helps), I'll give it a 2.5⭐⭐ (as an album) for the experience, a lot of it (for all it's wild artistic enthusias) is rather boring or painful, probably wouldn't willingly listen to again or seek physical copies, but you never know, sometimes these things grow on you
Probably a 4.5 really, so rounding up in this case, vibe hard with the sound 👍
Never heard this band or album, first song is sounding like my jam! Second song is lyrically dubious! Interesting album, AC/DC but make it Glam, would seek a physical copy, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ah the memories, haven't listened to this in a while, forgotten how much I loved this album and scene, thanks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I like EBTG but this album is a bit of a yawn fest...
I was actually once really into hair metal for five minutes, and specifically this Bon Jovi album, then somebody gave me a mix tape with the Buzzcocks, Joy Division, Pixies and Stiff Little Fingers, and that was the end of that😆
Still an enjoyable nostalgic listen for me ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Really interesting album, like this early 70's Krautrock sound a lot, 3.5 rounding up to ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Never been much of an Elvis Costello fan, it's pleasant enough but not really my thing, and this album is not terribly exciting (except the very end of 'Man Out of Time', more of that please), didn't mine 'Shabby Doll' either, or 'Pidgin English' ⭐⭐⭐ (probably a 3.5)
Not heard this album before, like their more recent stuff, but this was also a really enjoyable listen, will definitely be seeking a physical copy, probably a 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not heard this Coldcut album before, really enjoyable listen, would definitely seek a physical copy, ⭐⭐⭐⭐, note only available currently to stream via YouTube

A heavy and stodgy funk stew, if there was a path through this funky quagmire I lost it right about the second track in.
There are far superior funk albums then this rambling funk monologue, a low ⭐⭐⭐
Not the biggest fan of live albums but this one's a smoker, 4.5, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I bet this is great if love country pop music, all the feels ⭐⭐
Doesn't seem very underground lol😆
I hated non-political 90's hip hop/rap in the day, although I did have a soft spot for jazz rap, but 'A Tribe Called Quest' this is not, 'Rhymin on the Funk' was not bad and to be fair I liked a lot of the scratching and sampling. Inspite of really wanting to flat out hate this album there was some head bobbing going on I have to admit.😆
Trying to ignore the misogyny and at times flat out stupid/dumb lyrical content there are some catchy beats, a borderline 3 but probably 2.5⭐⭐⭐
I can find no redeeming features to this album, nothing nice to say about it, please don't make me listen to this album or artist again, ⭐
Peak Black Keys album I think, very enjoyable, 4.5
Some interesting beats and I don't hate it, not sure I would listen to it again but maybe, probably a indifferent 3
Very enjoyable listen, 3.5, probably would seek physical copy👍
Funny reading the reviews, not sure many read the concept of the album being a pseudo soundtrack, a really interesting mix, many great tracks and perfect for film, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not seriously listened to B.I.G. before and know only really the commercially successful hits from his second album.
This first album I really liked (surprisingly) and would add to my collection of good solid rap/hip hop 'go to' albums, take out the interlude shite and it would be very good, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not offensive to my ears or anything, but really not my thing, the "Introduction" song was promising (bit 'trip-hoppy') but was fairly 'meh' following on the rest of the album, on the deluxe version but I don't think I'll be listening to the second disc (it'll put me in a bad mood the rest of the day), not real fussed on grime style vocals, probably a 2.5 but will give a ⭐⭐
Really interesting pop music, both musically and lyrically, 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐
Mostly very bland rock that unfortunately feels like it's always about to launch into "Santa Clause is coming to town", always struggle to love 70's Springsteen ⭐⭐⭐
Surprisingly unthrilling ⭐⭐⭐
Top 10 all time (personally) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+++++🖤
Another top 10 (personally)🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Never heard before, very good, would seek physical copy ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (but probably a 5 really given more listening)
Some classic tracks and seeds on here, if anything needed remastering it's this album (audio engineer's ears must have been painted on), maybe it's just Spotify and better quality audio versions exist out there, probably a 3.5 but going with ⭐⭐⭐
Yeah these Burritos give me a bit of reflux 🤤
Never heard this before, it's not offensive to the ears but really not very exciting (almost feels like it could have gone somewhere more interesting on some tracks but never quite makes it), on balance white people R&B slash 6Os pop gets a ⭐⭐⭐
Not as interesting as I thought it was going to be, boarderline jangly annoying in places (weak start), pretty average for me in general but suspect it might grow on me, would probably seek a physical copy ⭐⭐⭐
Bit of a yawn-fest, the kind of live music I just want to end, snippets of interesting guitar distortion here & there, looking like a 3 ⭐⭐⭐
Not much of a country fan but the are a few interesting tunes on here, Hello in There, Pretty Good and Angel of Montgomery stand out, probably a 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐
Yeah I don't hate it, not normaly the kind of think I gravitate towards, but it was an interesting kind of anti-pop pop music , Cold War is kinda catchy, 'Come Alive' is really good actually, Mushrooms & Rose's is pretty wild also, I think it might grow on me, 3.5 but I'll go for a ⭐⭐⭐⭐
New level unlocked! There is some interesting tunes on here, never heard before, would probably seek a physical copy, probably could have been a great album if it had been worked over, as an album a three star, but the first 2/3rds has some really interesting sounds (last 3rd is mostly brain farts), so on balance ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not as interesting as I hoped, but perfectly fine and enjoyable, would seek physical filler vinyl copy ⭐⭐⭐
A ⭐⭐⭐ only because I loved it as a kid
This was surprisingly gritty, actually really enjoyed this album, quite a raw blues feel, would definitely seek a physical copy, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Interesting album, did not mind at all, did get a bit tedious on the bonus track but don't hate for a mellow melancholy country-ish feel⭐⭐⭐
Interesting album, loved when younger and into break-dancing😆, would seek physical copy ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🥱, it's fine elevator/shopping mall music, seriously unexciting but I don't dislike or hate it, so gets a ⭐⭐⭐, and my Mum loves it👍
Yep okay, soundtracky musical-like, ⭐⭐⭐
Never heard, really liked, rocky punky kinda country ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A bit cringe in places, the Springsteen rock sax is a definite turn off, almost a 2 but suitably punky-rock-glam in places to achieve a ⭐⭐⭐, not sure I would seek out to listen to again but maybe...
Yeah nah, not for me, a bit flaccid👎
"No Name Bar" & "Do Your Thing" were sufficiently interesting enough to save it from a ⭐, the rest is either a funky cringe-fest or elevator drivel 🤮
Probably a 4.5 so it gets bumped to 5
Back when Coldplay wrote music I (personally) could connect with, great album, all the feels ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Really rate 'Court and Spark' as one of Joni Mitchell's best albums, 4.5 so gets a bump to 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Golden oldies, not really the sort of Ray Charles time I like overly much but fine in the background 2.5 ⭐⭐⭐
There is shiter pop music that I'd rather listen to less, ⭐⭐
The cover and album named always put me off this one, but in fairness it's a good album, gritty-pop-indie-rock, Pavement-ing the way indie giants to follow (pun intended) and akin the other Aussie contemporaries like The Church, would seek a physical copy, solid 3.8 so bumped to ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Never heard or 'heard of' before, very interesting dark New Wave pop, would list to again, save to streaming library and probably seek physical copy, 3.5, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was pretty nuts, I like it, a mixture of frantic freeform and more constructed jazz, maybe not for everyone but I would seek a physical copy ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Was genuinely struggling to like this much on the first listen, but it grew on me second time round, appreciate the political and social commentary, probably a 3.5 to ⭐⭐⭐⭐, the last two songs "Hard Times" and "Love to the People" stood out to me, and the cover art is great👍
Never really understood the Prince mania, nope that hasn't changed, I mean it's okay for what it is ⭐⭐⭐
I hate that I really enjoy this album ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Some mildly interesting tracks around the beginning, but it quickly descended into the 70's singer/songwriter nightmare fuel of my childhood, wholey unremarkable, I'm sure it warrants further perseverance but if I have to listen to this again I may smash up my hi-fi gear, up there with "tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree", ⭐⭐
If I had to listen to modern country I would play this, ⭐⭐⭐
One those artists I'm vaguely aware of but never really investigated, well I'm glad to finally have a listen, very good, grity-folky-punky, not a 5 star for me but still very good, would explore further and seek a physical copy ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Golden oldies your Nanna will love⭐⭐⭐
Interesting from a samples point of view, a bit torturous as a whole album listen, 2.5 ⭐⭐
A classic, not a massive Billy Joel fan but good for what it is, ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yeah a mixed bag this one, was expecting great things but to be honest a lot of it is pretty forgettable, couple of good tracks in the middle with "Once I Was" and "I Never Asked To Be Your Mountain" but mixed in with the kind 60s folksy psych I find fairly cringe, ⭐⭐⭐
Liking the more traditional sounding songs, the covers are God awful, and the more poppy stuff is gobb shite, probably a 2.5 to 3⭐⭐
