Good album. Liked it more than I expected
Been a while since I listened to this one. Still a classic.
Starts up fast and never stops until the end. Not a bad listen.
More bluesy than I expected but still had some nice rock throughout.
Pretty catchy mixture of heavy metal and showtunes. Paradise by the Dashboard Light was quite amusing
An enjoyable listen. Back half started to run together though
One of my favorite albums
Really good album. Short enough that I listened twice.
First album of the 70s delightful punk and rock. Some songs were interesting but the back half got a bit repetitive and then it just devolved into noise.
What a great, deep voice. My son said, this guy's cool
I liked the first song and then the rest wasn't bad but wasn't great
Enjoyable 90s alternative
It's an hour in the dance clubs. How did I never hear this as a teenager?
Early 80s electronic. Sounds very similar to every other 80s New Wave.
There was one familiar dong
All the Smiths songs start to sound the same. But there were some good ones here.
Kind of boring electronica. One or two songs I liked
A nice album. Felt like an hour of relaxing spy movie soundtrack
I like OMD but this one was kind of meh. Still had some great tunes and a solid album
Enjoyable set of songs. Would listen again
Solid album with several good songs. Sledgehammer still a favorite.
Edgy lyrics set to showtune music makes for an odd album
yes, it's folk music. not bad but not memorable
Really nice album - better on headphones
Aside from the hits, kind of generic 80s new wave
I liked Blister in the Sun but by the end of the album, it was starting to grate and I'm OK not hearing it again.
Not bad. This guy might be good at guitar
First listen it just seemed pretty mellow. 2nd time through I enjoyed it more. Pretty good.
OK rock. Vocals started to be annoying though at points.
Some disco, some punk, some new wave. Liked this one
Better than I expected. There are a couple nice songs. Still not a hip hop fan but this was better than average.
Underneath the thrash there's a lot of musicality that I liked. But the thrash gets in the way for me.
Some famous songs here. Most are good
Maybe being familiar with the studio versions would make this better for me. Some interesting bits but a solid middle of the pack experience.
It wasn't bad. It wasn't good.
Hints of disco morphing into 80s pop
The ads YouTube served up between tracks were better than the songs.
There are a lot of catchy tunes on this one
First time listen - a bit long but there's some good stuff here
Slightly less annoying noise metal than the one from a week ago. I did like Getting Bright at Night
Still not into the lyrical "genius" of most rap.
pretty good on first listen
Nothing really memorable here for me
2nd Leonard Cohen album. I liked You Want it Darker better but this was good too
Interesting album, especially the back half. No standout song but as a whole, very good
Bunch of classic songs. The stereo mix is a bit extreme
Liked the rhythm section. Didn't care for the yelling.
Message in a Bottle is the highlight. Otherwise kind of average
Great vocal range. This is an interesting album. I liked it a lot more than I expected to for sure.
Didn't jump out and grab me but I liked the title song
It's a soundtrack to Friends
nothing really stood out on this one for me
Decent 90s punk/alternative fun
This was unexpected. Some very cool songs
Great collection of songs
It's OK. Some angsty cover images though
Some good sounds and the the vocals drag it down
Nice collection of Christmas songs
Strangely strong strumming
Southern Rock that's too long.
Love the guitar on this one
one of my favorites but in their 2nd tier
Interesting. Nice organs though
Not my favorite Radiohead album but still so very good
Don't know what they say but enjoyed the music
This was OK but nothing jumped out at me
It grew on me but this was very unique
Listened to the Bowie mix and started the Iggy mix. Interesting
bunch of 50s classics. not bad
Unpleasant album but the music is very good
everything sounded the same. It's not bad by any means but nothing is jumping out on first listen
Sounds like 80s college rock station staple
Solid album. The One I Love was the song that got me into R.E.M. Still, probably 3-4 other albums I'd pick to listen to over this one from them.
So weird but strangely enjoyable
It's some crooning pop or something
not bad for this genre which is probably saying something
There were some catchy tunes on this one
Nice sound but nothing spectacular about the music
Pure 80s smooth listening here
There was a rainbow of sound. It was not wonderful.
I'm not a metal fan. This is a straight-up banging album.
odd story but music was good
Lot's of soul in this one
It's Honky, it's Tonky, and it's wearing a mask
sometimes it was really good and other times it was average
some brilliance, some cacophony
2-3 good songs + nursery rhyme filler does not make a great album
Really cool music on this one
There were parts that the music and the vocals played well together but the lyrics are a distraction for me
Great album. Lots of cool stuff hear
Better than average. probably 2nd best of his I've got so far.
Early 90s rap in full force. One of the more listenable offerings of the genre
Disc 2 is better than disc 1
Some good songs but didn't really connect
Several strong songs but a lot of average ones too.
not too sure about this one. OK at times and tedious at others
Musically there's some interesting things. Lyrics are a big turn-off.
Some classics on here but kind of all over the place
probably 3rd best of the ones I've heard so far
Pretty good but a bit repetitive
Enjoyable but not the Beatles
Decent David Bowie album. 2nd best of the 3 in the past month
Kind of there. A bit of funky
Scary looking schizoid album cover
interesting but enjoyable too
It's got some OK stuff hiding betwixt the twang
Very nice album with a splendid cover.
some good songs on this one
Side 1 is great. Side 2 is filler
not sure where this falls on the scale. Not bad and some catchy tunes.
Couple of bangers on this one
Such a good one - melancholic masterpiece
It did not live up to my expectations from all I've heard of this album. That said, it was good and I could hear how it was very influential
It's got that one song on it
Nothing super special here for me
Hard one to assess as there are highs and lows. Parts that drag but parts that move.
Interesting Story about this one
Music was good but everything else about this was nonsense.
Parts were good and interesting. Parts, not so much
The first one on the list I did was better but this is still good
More Bjork - strings are fun
1st half great, 2nd half a bit of a chore
Some really weird and wonderful stuff
OK 90s music with freaky eyes
freaky weird stuff here. Enjoyable goofieness
2nd half is very, very good
More Steely Dan. It's fun.
Classic U2. Probably 2nd best by them
Pretty solid set of songs
There's interesting music here. One of the better hip-hop I've heard so far but still not my cup-o-tea.
These guys are angry at everything
scary looking dog on the cover
Dude really earned that parental warning label
inoffensive music from the 70s
Smooth listening with an extremely efficient earworm hook
A bit long but some nice songs
It''s certainly unique and that album cover is fantastic. I enjoyed the couple of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds albums but this one didn't hit as well as the others.
It's very country and western. Don't let go of the tail
Some solid classics on this one
Sounds like I should be throwing darts at the pub and getting hammered
About the same as the other 2 I heard from him
The big chair is comfy and warm
I remember this being all over the place when it came out but never listened to it. It's very solid
more country sounds than I expected
This was just there all day...
2nd half was quite interesting
One or two interesting tracks
Some nice songs but nothing really stands out
This was a pleasant surprise. Solid tunes here
I liked the guitar on this one
This one was better than the other one
What they say about this is true
Some ok music and dreadful vocals
not really a bad track on this
Original Album on YouTube - nice background music
An hour of high octane joy
not really feeling this one
a bit better than average
Interesting electronic visit to the dance club
Halfway through I decided that there is a lot of grating vocals here. Still some good songs, especially on the back half
Sounds like an 80s movie road trip interlude
The one guy is whiny and annoying but the weave it all in to make it work somehow
ended up being unmemorable background noise
time after time is a classic.
Should have kept the last track off cause that drags the album down. Otherwise, great but it's a weak 5
It's not a bad album but, I got Rumours 3 weeks ago and this does not even compare.
Better than many but many better than this.
Pretty solid but only half the album on the Spotify. Other songs are out there though from different compilations
lots of popular songs on this one
it's electronic, yeah. It was background music while clearing the Leyndell, Royal Capital Outskirts. I'm going to burn that tree.
some interesting music but sort of lost me halfway through
upper-tier of hip hop so far but still not something I'd listen to
Is it really a cover if you're the songwriter?
First time through was interesting. Second time through was still interesting
First and Last songs are the best. Sometimes great, sometimes average
A bit long but nice bluesy hard rock
Probably made the list based on the title track and its historical significance
Not as good as Marty and his Big Iron
This is what the Peter Tosh album wanted to be
the history on this album is the most interesting part
Unexpected and somewhat interesting
This one is OK. Faith was more fun
I've heard a lot about this guy. 1st one at #387
Might be a grower but liked Master of Puppets better
Gimme Shelter is my favorite
Interesting album but not one I'll go back to
There was a lot of staccato in this
Back-to-back Elvis at 404
Nice sounding album - Enjoyed it
This album grabbed me and didn't let go
Not as good as the last one from her but still a nice album
Found on YouTube. Really good and fun album
not going back for a 2nd date
Sterile pop music has no soul
This was pretty good
This was pretty good
pretty good
pretty good
good
good
good
Britpop. Some bops though
this was interesting music. I enjoyed it
Another soundtrack to Friends
Not what I was expecting but solid blues rock
Disco morphed to new wave pop
Long-time favorite which I prefer to Unknown Pleasures, but only just a bit.
This one was better than I thought it would be
In the end, I just didn't care for this one
That's a guy with sticks on his back
It's fun and full of bops
The Smiths are an odd one
Been a while. There's a lot of really good songs on this one.
I liked the previous Bunnyguys album better
The fire was like that roaring blaze you watch on Netflix when it's cold outside
this was not the best album of 1991
Starts off strong and then coasts a bit
better than average by a bit
It was pretty good and I've heard many of these before
Interesting music killed by the words
Getting this the day after Napalm Death got me to wondering if those two chaps and the old guy were just imagining things after all?
There were some interesting tunes
Which Kuti is the best Kuti?
Probably between the walnut and the peanut in the hierarchy of nuts
Is it pop? Is it rap? Who knows but it's 100% 80s
Soothing and can sleep to this
This is so perfectly balanced for the background that it can only be a 3
More ambient noise this week
The soundtrack to Pixar's early release dream shop
A bit on the long side but still funky
Not at all what I expected. Mostly good but way too long
Gotta groove and jump through hoops to hear
got the hits - an enjoyable listen
Eclectic collection of songs
Everything was 4 minutes too long
Had a hard time getting into this one.
The original 6 song album is really good.
The look of a guy about to do a wardrobe malfunction
the vibe is nice on this one
it wasn't bad but not sure what I think
What a delightful young couple on the cover. Delightful songs too
sounds like every other album coming from this time
First full listen of this one but I've heard most of the songs. It's solid
There's something weird here.
I've learned i don't care for Frank
I don't know what to think about Elvis. This is #4
Not on the Spotify. played while bonking things with a brick
slightly better than average
2nd half stronger than 1st
I like the heavy blues sound
Could have skipped this one
I wanted to dance but it was not safe in the car
Got stronger as it went along
It's not bad but it's not my thing
Harmonies good. Good that it was short
80s jazz pop is an adequate descriptor
High octane fuel required
Better than average but not great
Just like the other byrds
This shouldn't be as interesting as it is
Some punk is good, some punk is not.
It was somewhat interesting
Started OK but then seemed to coast
bit long. when she sings, she has a good voice
Just as dancy and a bop as it was the first time I heard it
It's a sticky kind of substance
Half an album on Spotify is sad
I went to Nebraska for harmonica
I don't like country. I got Nebraska a couple days ago and that State Trooper song sounded familiar though. It was decent enough.
I'm chillin. you chilllin?
Maybe valley girl punk-lite?
Perfect Kiss and Elegia are my favorites. Good album but not my favorite from them
not really floating my boat
28 musical thoughts crammed into 41 minutes with a song sprinkled here or there.
It's pure late 80s R&B pop
More interesting than I expected
Didn't do anything for me
Starting to tire of the 60s
The 80s was a powerful time
Better than Roots Bloody Roots
just a bit better than a 3 I think.
Elvis over some lounge music was better than expected. That's #5
There was some serious squeak on this one
Really picks up after track 4
Wonder why I never listened to this before..
Nice puffy shirt but i don't wanna be a pirate
Don't know what I expected. This wasn't it.
After 3 albums, I don't care much for the boss
I really didn't need to listen to that
There were parts I liked but a large part where I was not having fun on the autobahn
Stuff to listen to at a picnic
unremarkable but jazz is good
The twang of the steel guitar.....
Feels like France a hundred years ago
So idiotic but not idiotique
I am not rust, I'm sleepy
I did like Love and Rockets after this
Started OK but then went about 20 minutes too long
4th favorite of what I've heard on the list so far
There's a lot going on here
What's with this genre dropping 2-3 hour albums?
Kind of liked this but why not on the Spotify???
I've fallen three times now and I can't get up
A strong 4. It wanted to be a 5 but it just didn't quite get there. It really tried though
Enjoyed it more than I should have probably. Would be better with about 10 minutes of fluff cut off
some funk, some jazz, some social commentary
It's Ozzy Day on the generator and I got System of a Down. It is the right genre I suppose
They weren't messing around
Gah - I forgot to give a comment about King Louis Prima. What a bop.
This one is more interesting than another 70s folk Celtic get together that sounds like everything else. And she has a great voice
The random "bye" in the 10 minutes of dreamy noise at the end of the album was certainly a thing. A Day in the Life did it better.
I don't care for the Pixies
I didn't hate it. The long song was long.
Lyrics gotta lyric and HS French wasn't quite enough
It's the same song over and over
Never heard this one before but better than I thought
Que divertido e cheio de alegria
...my name, my excitement, my will to live...
That was a thing. Grunt, grunt, rrrawrrr!
Who doesn't love and armed-a-dilllo?
On Spotify the turret turrets and the red eye blinks. Brilliant
At times it was interesting. Something to listen to in the background
Some tracks are pretty solid. And then there are the ones where they could, but never asked if they should
It really shouldn't be so entertaining. It makes no sense at all.
The other 3 I listened to were better.
The synth is strong with this one
I heard the klaxons klaxoning
The beat is catchy but a polished turd is still a turd
I wanted the Canadian guy with a B
genuine fun on a live recording
Two Leonards in a week is too many Leonard.
Sounds like early 90s from the 80s
I'm on a train, going around in circlez
Takes me back to the time I was in Paris and went to the dance clubs. Highlight of the week when we were riding around the Arc de Triomphe on a scooter getting ready for the club beats.
typical 90s indie gets typical score
Slightly better than the last time I had to listen to this guy
Didn't really connect with this one
The music is decent but not good enough to get out of the way of the lyrics
They did improve from here
There's a vibe on this one.
I didn't know what to expect with the variety of reviews. I always love live albums and this was a pleasant surprise
The most interesting Sonic Youth album I've had so far
Some greatness and some weirdness
Background lounging and chatting music
I wanted to forget but it wasn't there
it's not bad. last one by Elvis I think
Sweet spot for length and fun
Should have listened to this yesterday, lol
kept it on in the background
There's a certain drum pattern that screams reggae
fell asleep to this last night but had a good vibe
I'm not a lyrics person. They sure do get in the way
These guys have a nice vibe
Strangely cathartic goofiness
another generic 60s classic rock
Great live album has great interactions between performer and audience
Never heard of them. Definitely 80s. Not bad. Not great
interesting batch of songs
Dexy went to the future and watched Get Back. Thought it was a great idea so he recorded everything good and mundane in the studio. But Dexy is not the Beatles so there would be no documentary and all that stuff got dumped on the album to make a 46 minute runtime. Ride, Dexy, ride.
Can't remember the last time I listened to this one. Still a classic
Piano bass and drums, buh-dum-dum-dum
I liked some of the music in this one
I usually like live albums. This one didn't click
Grew on me a bit. Funny how I thought it sounded similar to Duran Duran and I'm not the only one
Goofy song in the middle of some bangers
