American IV: The Man Comes Around
Johnny CashLove this album. A nice group of Cashified tunes!
Love this album. A nice group of Cashified tunes!
The only album I've ever listened to by Amy Winehouse. She has an incredible voice, an old soul, and effortless talent. Such a shame that she became a part of the 27 Club
calm and relaxing; nice picking
Great songwriter and good album, but I struggle listening to his voice. This is the first, and probably not the last, Dylan album I've listened to in its entirety.
Loved it!
Some good tunes. A bit too atmospheric for me - 3
One of the all-time classics!
Three tremendous songs that defined an icon but the rest is filler IMHO - 3
Great musicians and incredible lyrics. When I was in college, those who weren't constantly playing Waiting for Columbus or Rumors, were playing this album
Loved this album, but I get the references to it being sooo David Bowie.
I never heard Elastica back in the day and didn't know their "hits." Some tunes were pretty good, but I doubt I'll listen to it again
I think I would probably have been blown away by Nirvana in my 20s or 30s when grunge began; however, as a 65-year-old, this album did not do much for me.
ZZ Top when they were bluesier and extraordinary. Every song is a banger and bears no resemblance to their later hits, such as Sharp-Dressed Man
Enjoying this more than I expected. Really like Do'Reen's voice
Nothing more to add
Sounds like a greatest hits album. Art Garfunkel has the voice of an angel
I suppose it's good jazz, but I don't have the discerning ear to differentiate between good and bad jazz. I would rate it between 2 and 3, but I will settle on 2 because I'm unlikely to listen to it again
First rap album on my list and was pleasantly surprised, considering I've never heard of her
All sounds the same to me - never listened enough to his music to notice how erotic every song is
It's got a good beat and I can SLAM to it! Love some of the sampling!
"If 6 was 9" is so classic, and I really liked "Little Miss Lover."
Great album. Amazing lyrics and a variety of musical styles
This album STILL did not open my eyes to the mystique of David Bowie. I don't get his music at all
Never heard of the group, but had heard 2 songs from this album previously.
The Plimsouls did it better
Not my jam. I suppose it's okay, but I need more variety in the background music. Don't think I'll listen to this again.
Love this...especially the live sections
This concert sounded like a religious experience and a great time!
What a voice! So much emotion! A shame we couldn't still be enjoying his music.
It was okay. Lots of hits, but not my taste. Have to give Eddie credit for his guitar work though.
I think I like The Beastie Boys!
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think Frank Zappa is brilliant...and so prescient! I own several of his albums, but not this one, although I've seen it before.
Yeah, I still don't get David Bowie, but I did like one song on this album, so if I could, I would rate it 1.5 stars
Lots of rolling, roiling drums and guitar. Less noisy than typical punk bands, but equally anti-establishment. I listened to a few of the live versions of tunes, and I liked them.
Love the beats!
Love Jack White, but not my favorite White Stripes album. Still, damn good
I really wanted to like this album more than I did - it had a promising start but became redundant quickly
Not sure why this album was on this list. It was meh, and I had to downgrade it by a star due to the band's rendition of Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf and thousands of cover bands did it better!
Some good tunes...and some noise
I wasn't expecting to like this album, but felt it was surprisingly solid
I didn't expect much regarding lyricism; therefore, I was not disappointed. As a fan of the Hives, Turbonegro crawled so The Hives could run
Great album! Really enjoyed listening to this one!
I thought I had been burned out on CCR, but I really liked this album, mainly because of the quality of the tunes that had not been played to death over the last 50 years.
What a voice! Although not my preferred style of music, Aretha proves herself to be the queen of soul!
Wow! So depressing!
At first, I wasn't a fan of this particular album, but the songs kept getting better as it progressed.
Very nice. I felt the music style really highlighted her amazing voice.
Don't like this one bit
I liked two more songs on this album than I thought I would (2 total). Rate 1.5 if I could, but will give it a 2
Not for me. Self-indulgent and boring!
I've tried to like Radiohead, and even own this album and a previous one.
not a fan of "atmospheric" music
Not too bad. Doesn't really sound like the pop country out now
I really liked this. Definitely could see the influence of Jack White and Josh Homme on each other
Nice! Meshed perfectly with my long walk. Would give it a 3.5!
Really liked this one!
Very nice background music with South American rhythms.
Ok, but kinda boring
Amazing, high energy album!
This album is the reason for this list! Almost 60 years old, and one can see how it influenced many other bands. Best album I've heard so far!
I forgot how good this album was!
I liked this more than I expected to
Not my jam
Can't believe nobody wanted to produce this album. Not secretary rock! Very good!
