This screamed difficult second album. Pleasant but noodly.

Very cool and I can appreciate the innovation of his sound. However, it rarely is a sound that I seek out - a bit too hard and a bit too chaotic

Very weird experience. Not a fan, although it can be a cool background music.

Nothing stood out

Is this a demo record? It feels like this is a group of rough ideas jammed out by a group of improvising musicians. The way some of the tracks fade out feels like the engineer took a 15 minute take and just cut it off when he got bored. I was expecting just to slap a 3 on some dated, middle-of-the-road 60's trash guitar rock, but this is actively a bad album.

It was OK but I think its the weakest of his 3 albums. I admire his musical genius but just find his sound (especially his solos) a bit to raw and messy for me. This should be right in my wheelhouse alongside all the other late 60s psychedelic rock bands that I love, but its not. I think I'm probably a Jimi Hendrix 'Greatest Hits' kinda guy.

* Very unexpected intro to the album. Tbh, pretty grating on the ears. Safe to say that's likely going and staying at the bottom of the album rankings; will be very hard to beat I think. I wasn't sure if I should even include it, since most of it is dialogue. Does seem to have some "music" at the end though... and it is on the album so... * Don't have much to say about this one. Hendrix has done much better than this

A couple of tracks that made me get my groove on, but I think I was waiting for a Purple Haze moment that never came.

Eh, sure everyone’s very proficient but it just left me cold. I think it might have sounded better if I’d been on drugs…..

I can’t have listened to this since the mid-80s. A friend from back then had this album and it was good to hear it again. But sad to think he was singing lyrics “never to grow old”. Most of the tracks aren’t that memorable tho. EXP reminds me of The Carpenters’ “Calling Occupants” Favourite track - Little Wing

Not super impressed with this. It has a lot of 'they'll pay me to shit on stage' vibe. It takes over halfway through the album before anything really worth listening to comes on and that's after the song 'If 6 Was 9', which makes you want to turn the album off. Folks can give this one a pass.

Couldn’t get myself to listen to every song. It’s like either the guitar just doesn’t sound good or his lyrics don’t work with the instruments. Like the lines are too long and sound like he’s trying his best to make it work but it’s failing. Even if done intentionally, it’s just done poorly in my opinion

I liked some songs but then the homie just whips out the screechy guitar for no reason, even if it doesn’t match half the album. Funky Funky Sixties, huh?

Very familiar with the singles looking forward to the rest!

Meh. A great guitarist but the songs are poor. I thought Little Wing was supposed to be a masterpiece? Vastly overhyped, it would get 2.5 stars if I could give it - but that option isn't available and I'm not prepared to round it up, so 2 it is.

Wasn’t crazy about this tbh. The style had me interested at first but as the album continues it just feels like a copy and paste of the same formula.

Feels like two albums: one thoughtfully written and the other a haphazard assemblage of guitar riffs and meandering melodic lines. One Rainy Wish is the only standout song and even it fails to deliver.

Hendrix isn't for me. Talented musician, but not certain he's a great songwriter.

A few good songs on here, but overall, the album is pretty slow and uninteresting. Tried listening to it a few times over but it just wouldn't keep my attention. Hendrix is amazing on the guitar, but overall, it just doesn't do it for me.

Excuse me while I diss this guy. I’m not a fan of Jimi Hendrix AT ALL. The only reason I’m not giving this a 1 (my “it shouldn’t have been included” rating) is because music critics and time clearly feel otherwise.

Not the biggest fan of these classic electric guitar driven albums, so this isn't really my thing. Seeing that Little Wing had over 180 million streams shocked me. 2.5 that I'll round down because some of these songs are borderline unlistenable.

Sauvegardé aucun titre,ressenti aucune émotion. Je comprends que ça puisse plaire aux guitaristes puristes mais aucun intérêt perso. La seule chose que j'ai bien aimée sont les effets mono/stéréo, intéressants au casque.

On the one hand, you could argue that what Hendrix did was unique, original and genre-defying - genre-creating, even. But on the other hand, you could argue that it was, well, awful. I'm in the latter camp. Although I totally understand his influence, and appreciate just how talented he was, I find everything by him pretty much unlistenable, screechy, mumbly, drivel. It's conflicting because pretty much every record I like that's been released since, say, 1970, has probably been influenced in some way by Hendrix and his relationship with the guitar, but there's something about his records that just activates my defence mechanism. The walls go up, and I can't listen to it. It all just sounds like he's making it up as he goes along - every song sounds like a soundcheck. Yes, even THOSE ones. Maybe that's the charm. Maybe I'm just a terrible, terrible person but I listened to most of this record and remain unconvinced. Thank god he existed though otherwise my record collection would sound pretty different. He can have one star for that.

Albumet inleds med en humoristisk (låt?) (Exp). Låten låtsas likna ett radioprogram som handlar om UFO:n. Albumets första riktiga låt (up from the skies) inleds med en hotfull ton som övergår till en känsla av saknad genom låtens gång. (wait until tomorrow) inleds med en flykthistoria som övergår till prokrastinering sedan svek. Albumets sista låt som är döpt till samma namn som Albumet självt är en oväntad positiv överraskning. men med det sagt så finns det vissa guldkorn i albumet såsom den första och den sista låten, förövrigt upplever jag detta album som lite lätt "flummigt" så att säga.

the late 60s and the 70s...they're just not my time period. please...take me to a different decade...PLEASE IM BEGGING U sometimes i'd read the lyrics in advance and think the song might be promising because the words were appealing, pretty, etc. - but no. it's always painful, a borderline cacophony of unpleasant sounds this isn't AS bad as the replacements album, but i have to give it one star because i found it actively aversive to listen to
