Spectacular music. Not one I would have found my way to, so thank you!

Et ça fait samba cafew cafew carnaval

Loving

Easy listening. Very relaxing.

Not a jazz fan myself but this a very smooth record. Relaxing & easy one to follow. Beautiful blend of guitar rhythm , bass and saxophone. Recommended!

This is the kind of album that soothes your very soul, through it´s beautiful yet baffling music.

Reminds me of sitting in a Brazilian steakhouse

bossa nova!

Lovely! So relaxing

Good stuff, very nice to listen to. Would pick it up if I saw it at my record store.

This is brilliant. Never heard it before and loving it.

Great stuff. I love a good samba or bassa nova. Listened to this one back-to-back.

A Stone cold classic and highly influential album. Introduced jazz lovers in North America to bossa nova. What more is there to say. 5 🌟

A Stine called classic and highly influential album. Introduced jazz lovers in North America to bossa nova. What more is there to say. 5 🌟

I love jazz wth. I will listen to this while doing schoolwork when school starts (s) Favorite songs: Samba Dees Days, Samba Triste, Samba De Uma Nota So, Bahia

I imagine this listening to this album playing at a pub while sipping some cocktail. A very unconventional jazz album with some excellent, and calming melodies. As calming as it is, it is one that beckons you to the dance floor in a way that is impossible to resist. This has to be a staple in the Jazz Samba movement.

Exquisite. Transports you away from wherever you are.

I like that bossa sound, love the album

Brilliant for working at home

Pure vibez, a shame it's only 33 minutes long!

As described

Really enjoyed it

Great Jazz! Not to crazy, not too chill.

Amazing!

Se me ha hecho breve

So elegant and comforting. I really enjoyed this work by the two jazz legends.

Amazing

HELL yeah, man. holy shit, this was so good.

Wow, I absolutely loved this album. Transported to another place.

This is so freaking classic and so freaking good. I'll take more where that came from.

Always a classic

Great.

Uma delícia

Just perfect composition.

great album, can see if being used for sunday mornings making breakfast!

Silky smooth

pretty relaxing album, smooooth jazz, smooooooooth samba, smoooooooooooooooooooooth jazz samba. yum yum yum.

Voy por la tercera y lo amo. Ya las conozco todas, el sax suena lindo y la grabación increible

Love it

From these beautiful bossa nova grooves, you wouldn't think of how badly Getz was struggling with addiction behind the scenes. He and Byrd managed to create one of the most celebrated albums of all time while also pushing bossa nova to an American audience; this kind of music can only ever be produced by inspired individuals- shout-out to Felix Grant. Finding out also that this album was the result of both of them listening to Gilberto is so cool; I'd only recently discovered Gilberto and fell in love with 'O Amor, O Sorriso e a Flor', and to think that it was probably that album that inspired this. The Chemistry between these two is so clear, they complement each other so well, just listening currently just hits something in my brain. It manages to create such a relaxing atmosphere while also being the right amount of groovy. I'm currently listening to the stereo version of the album which has been mixed so well compared to how shoddy a lot of stereo mixes of older albums are. Getz playing the sax in the left, Byrd playing his guitar in the right and the percussion balanced between the two, none are louder than the other and just flow so well. Today you have musicians switch and divert to different style of music to appeal to wider audiences while lacking authenticity, meanwhile, you can tell that both Getz and Byrd has such an appreciation for Brazillian bossa nova and wanted to do this project right, to celebrate the genre rather than just mimic it.

Bossa nova by jazz legends. Still prefer original flavour but pretty good anyway.

its cool tho I don't always listen to jazz

I have a friend in Brazil. Recife, more specifically. They're one of my favorite people in the world. This reminds me of them.

I love Stan Getz and also Charlie Parker so this was a great album. Never heard of it or knew of it before. It is good background music. Maybe not one I would stop and sit and listen to as it’s a bit more background, but still great

Stan Getz is not exactly a worldbreaking Jazz dude, but he sure did a lot on the exposure front. This album (to say nothing of That Other One) may well have gone a long way to introducing this sort of music to bland white america. Certainly there is a long long long history of that… when Chef Boy-ar-dee first came about, Italian was still seen as exotic. Teaming with Byrd, Getz is taking the samba vibe and creating something just a bit more accessible. And we can talk appropration… that's a fair discussion for work like this… but honestly, with how deep Getz gets into the genre, how he pulled folks like the Gilbertos up the ladder with him, it really does feel more like love of that vibe, the cool breeze across a hot sky, the “saudade” adjacent vibes… it is like getting a little miniature vacation on your hi-fi. Great little album, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoyed this type of jazz (mostly revolving around the saxophone). This is an album/artist I would go back to. 4/5

Always love some jazz, dunno if it’s truly worthy of a 5/5 so will stick with 4

Desafinado - 4 Samba dees days - 4 O pato - 3 Samba triste - 4 Samba de uma nota so - 3 E luxo so - 3 Bahia - 4

Fantastic chill jazz to throw on in the background while cooking or at a dinner party.

very inoffensive, probably great music when sleeping on a hammock. i like it.

I will always love Stan Getz

totally chill and enjoyable. idk if i'd ever seek this out again (not really my genre) but it was great and the songs were a reasonable length

I guess I'll repeat what I said about the last one. I love Stan Getz, I love bossa nova.

Good vibe for me

Two Stan Getz albums three days apart?! This is a nice album. The samba groove has intricacy to it, but it is played with such lightness. This would be fun to dance to, if I knew how to samba. Another great Getz album cover too. I think I prefer Getz/Gilberto over this album though because I like the more expressive saxophone playing & the fantastic vocals by João and Astrud Gilberto, and I honestly just think the music has a bit more heart to it than this does. Getz and Charlie Byrd definitely demonstrate musical proficiency on this album, but it could use a little bit more character/passion to be a five star for me.

this is perhaps the least offensive album of all time. i just can’t imagine anyone asking you to turn this album off or getting mad that it’s on. but it also isn’t super exciting either. this is like the peak of background music, it almost completely fades away. i didn’t even realize the album ended for 20 minutes. did download two songs.

Definitely will listen to more by Stan Getz. This was nice.

The chances of Brazil meeting USA at the World Cup look pretty unlikely so will have to make do with this. I really hope the hosts get through their group only to get smashed by Iran in the last 32. Great record fwiw.

I recognize the quality of this far more than I actually enjoy it. I much prefer the funk/soul jazz of the late ‘60s, (Miles, Herbie, etc.) and in comparison to that, this doesn’t do much for me. But if not comparing it to other jazz styles, it’s fairly enjoyable, even if not exciting, and the skill and tunefulness of the players is definitely top-notch. 3.5/5 stars, rounding up.

Such a lovely record. The sounds and grooves that they layer so pragmatically throughout this one is spot on. This is the type of jazz I love to see live out in a small pub somewhere. Legendary jazz musicians making an incredible work of art - awesome album.

Sounded like one song, couldn't differentiate. Leah - 6.5/7 Leprechauns Austin - 5/7 Leprechauns

It’s hard not to enjoy Jazz like this, especially when it’s performed by two titans of the genre like Getz and Bird. Breezy compositions fit for dancing, lounging, and cool summer mornings. Very chill.

Good Evie would enjoy it

I love Stan Getz for The Girl from Ipanema. This one has it's share of good tunes, but like the Getz/Gilberto record, I feel that the style and arrangement of the music gets to sound samey. The minimalism of these records are a strength and a weakness.

I am experiencing this record as a kind of sequel to the Getz/Gilberto record that I heard a number of days ago, but this actually came out a couple years earlier. In contrast to that album, this record sounds more like a conventional jazz album, probably because the absence of vocals. It's as enjoyable as that later record though. I'm enjoying the songs and the performance of the musicians is good. I'm definitely going to listen to this again and would pick it up at a fairly reasonable price.

Jazz precioso pero mas de ambiente que otra cosa por la falta de letra en mi opinion 8/10

Really enjoyed this - especially Desafinado. Great playing and wonderful sax tone from Stan Getz.

It's better than I expected; it must be the jazz elements that enhanced "Jazz Samba". However, if it didn't have samba, it would be boring. There is already a boatload of jazz albums from the 60s. So, both genres are what make "Jazz Samba" a good album. That's something different for me today. 4 stars for "Jazz Samba".

We have the Jazz Samba encore album, but I've never heard this one.

fun studeer jazzz

Lowkey orgasme waardige jazz - 4,5

ok da was wel heel goed

Same as Count Basie - kind of not my thing, but creates an amazing ambiance. This could be an amazing piece to have on a calm hangout.

Que bueno un nuevo genero en este proyecto, un nuevo ritmo, un LATINO. Es completamente disfrutable y fácil de escuchar

Light 8.

Cool vibe for a Sunday

i really like bossa nova

SEXY!!! OH MY GOD!!! GOT ME [Redacted] She sam on my ba till I jizz¹ ¹Read the etymology section for jazz on Wikipedia Also playing that clip from the Elvis biopic in my head "He's WHITE???!!!"

my samba jazz in until I stan the getz

It sounds like I'm on a beach in paradise at night and this band plays a few songs at a dreamy dive bar and there's only like 12 or 13 people there and my feet are in the sand and I can hear the ocean and I'm like hell yeah this is nice music

bossa nova, 1962 -> 4

Loved bits, obviously all sounds very similar. But great times

Great jazz once again by Mr. Getz.

Enjoyed this

Perfect listening for a languid, hot Sunday afternoon sat in the garden, which is how I experienced it. Another easy listening jazz album that is short and sweet, and the backing is there in an unassuming way to let the sax do its thing. A shame some bellend was intermittently flying his drone around overhead, slightly detracted from the vibe.

Some damn good cocktail lounge jazz- that’s not a bad thing or slight on it. It’s great and sounds so good for 1962!

I actually met stan getz at Pat's in NO, Bossa nova Desafinado

Easy access jazz. Defo all stolen from Brazilian artists (speculation). The right length for a jazz album. A groove

🇧🇷

Just hit right.

classic spanish kinda samba mainly instrumental

Quite a contrast from the Sepultura from a couple of picks ago. This I can pretty easily put on and leave on. That's a pro and a con because that means it's really good background music. Probably not what Stan Getz and crew were hoping for when they made it. I'll definitely be coming back to it in the future though.

samba triste! bass in bahia

Pleasantly surprised by this one. I don’t know much about jazz and less about samba so I was expecting to bounce off this. But it was quite nice to groove along to

Tykkäsin, hyvä taustamusa

very nice highlights: samba dees days, bahia 3.75/5

Lowkey breezy.

Relax and let your stress go away for half an hour

goes down smooth

Relaxing

I had a teacher in high school who was the ideal mix of stodgy traditionalist and laid-back dude. He was a moderate Republican (we still made them in those days) with approximately the same personality as Woody from Toy Story. He had high moral standards, yet you could also never quite guess when he would come down on you for something or when he would let his slide. A club I was a part of met in his room and that sort of became my substitute locker and hangout area through the day. I would often show up early, put on music, and finish music before the day began. One day he came in and asked what was playing and I absent-mindedly replied, “Bitches Brew.” I looked up and I think we realized at the same time that I had said “bitches” around a teacher. His mouth hung open for a moment and then he smiled, nodded his head, and said, “All right!” Turned out he mostly listened to jazz at home, though more in the “Kind of Blue” mode. So that became a place we usually played jazz in the morning. One day one of the other kids walked in when I had Dave Brubeck on. He was definitely more of a metalhead and he heard was playing and he said, “Um, is this a MIDI?” I’m still not sure if it was sarcastic or not. Anyway, I just turned it off… today, I might have turned it up higher and asked him to listen for the undeniably organic elements of Brubeck and his band, even if I get that the melodies can be a little tinkle-tinkle. I had kind of the same reaction to this record. Too smooth, too clean. I preferred the Getz/Gilberto where the voices (though also very smooth) ground the sound in some particular time and place. I ended up giving that one a four, but I probably talked it down from a five — I just didn’t enjoy it quite enough. This is a three I talked up to a four because of how much I liked the guitar parts and especially the”Bahia.” Still not my preferred kind of jazz, but certainly not a MIDI.

I liked it very much on my way to a funeral. 8.5/10

Another banger. I’ll admit I knew this album already, but it’s just so gorgeous and peaceful. I actually accidentally listened to it twice today because I was just chillin so hard

Very beautiful

beautiful

BANGER BABY

Super solid and groovy samba. Maybe a controversial 4, but a 4 nonetheless

This was very nice and relaxing.

*tips sunglasses* ya like jazz?

I'm actually shocked that I like this enough to the point where it's going to go in my rotation of background music. I don't know anything about jazz.

3.75. Solid house cleaning music.

Really dig the interplay between the guitar and the horn on this. I guess I’m a jazz guy now?

Day849 - i know i liked it but i couldn’t tell you a name of any song

very nice to listen to but kind of elevator music-esque.

The samba added a lot to the jazz! I enjoyed this over most of the jazz albums, and I think the combination/fusion was right up my alley.

Great musicians, excellent recording. I ended up listening to my equipment more than the music. I guess I'll never be a jazz guy.

very nice, very calming, very nice

What can you say, it's some smooth easy listening jazz.

Muy buen album, siempre me intereso meterme en el mundo del jazz y bossa nova y la verdad que para empezar muy lindo

Take me to a smoky backroom bar, Stan and Charlie. Mmm! Very smooth and swanky. While I prefer my jazz (and samba for that matter) a lot louder and wilder, I appreciated this offering and could see myself nodding along to it in a jazz room. 7/10

mmm good

Listening to it looking out of a train window into nature and just start thinking

Very nice

lovely cocktail samba jazz

Great jazz album

Fajny jazz

Easy to listen too multiple times. Good jazz album.

Fun baby!

the "One-Note Samba" (or "Samba De Uma Nota So" in Portuguese) is iconic

It was nice music, definitely a pleasant soundtrack on a summer day. Can't help thinking that there's surely an even better album of Brazilian jazz out there if we actually looked in Brazil. Very lovely soft sax playing by Getz which definitely has inspired a lot of jazz musicians (me included if I count). Didn't convey the most emotion (in my opinion) though, which is something I'm looking for in music at the moment! Top track: Chega De Saudade... But this is cheating because it wasn't until after I heard that I realised Spotify had moved on from the album itself. Deserved a special mention nevertheless because I loved the trumpet intro.

I'm a big fan of samba and bossa nova, and I also like Stan Getz to begin with. This sounds like a good album for me to study on guitar, with a couple of songs I recognize as standards. Strong start to the album, not a big fan of the later songs. Getz is very smooth and melodic.

Sounds like drinking a margarita in a country club, in a good way! Soothing but also has a kick

enjoyed this a lot more than anticipated...kind of gives elevator music but it's a pleasant vibe....again prob a 3 but im rating high now whatever

this was a fun listen, i like a good jazz track

Really enjoyed. Great music for working at the office. Nice to get back in touch with my Brazilian roots.

very easy listening also I could do that

A bit light maybe, but this is really lovely.

Very pleasing to listen to. I find a lot of jazz albums enjoyable (though I can't remember any specific songs most of the time lol). E Luxo So and Samba De Uma Nota So were my stand outs. 7.1/10

Feels almost minimalist in a way. I'm not usually a sax guy or a bossa nova guy, but maybe I need to reevaluate.

This was good.

oh yeah escuchar esto tan temprano hizo q no me pusiera a llorar por un inconveniente

Samba De Una - Love groove, guitar E Luxo So - Love upbeat tempo Bahia - Another good one

Gotta listen to it more.

god, godin. Buen album. Mencion especial a O pato (temazo) gracias

"sickly sweet" you comment as you go for another bite

Nice and easy.

I liked this one a lot. Nice, easy-listening jazz album to put on and relax.

El bossa nova y jazz definitivamente son uno de mis géneros favoritos. Cómo no amar el trabajo de Stan Getz

This is my shit Love it So much

Great chill jazz. I really enjoy Getz’s bossa nova sound.

Listening session: april 8th, while going for a walk Listened to before: listened to one song before Thoughts: I’m a big sucker for bossa nova and samba so I’ll always love Stan Getz. While I never listened to this album in total before, this album is no exception Favourite tracks: Desafinado, Samba Triste & E Luxo So

Smooth saxophone instrumentals, excellent vibe to chill to.

My calmest album so far

Bastante bien, no lo escucharia en mi dia a dia pero 4/5, Divertido y Sentimental.

Music for the dining room.

Oh heck yeah, this is a dinner making vibe!

Extremely smooth and enjoyable to listen to.

Cool and smooth. Could easily listen to for hours on repeat

Such a good vibe

This is such a great style of jazz and the combo of Getz's sax and Byrd's guitar is a soothing tonic. The first track alone is enough to make this 4 stars and the rest is of that same quality. Like much jazz, it works better for me as background music than as primary focus, but that takes nothing away from the virtuosity of this album.

Two very talented gringos. Love the interplay between the sax and guitar of course, but the bass and percussion deserve a lot of credit here too, underpinning everything and making it all so smooth. All very enjoyable but O Pato and E Luxo So are my favorites here - the stuff of dreams

I was fully prepared to dismiss this album as "the birth of Elevator Music", but Stan Getz cuts through with some ultracool sax riffs and leads the band into previously unexplored territory. Byrd's guitar is further back in the mix and requires a bit more attention to discern. There's a nice payoff for the extra work. Maybe it's not-so-Easy-Listening after all.

fire tbh

All the songs are great for walking in the park with.

Impressive. Very pleasing and upbeat

Nice jazz album

Super pleasant.

Very listenable in deed. Great sax and guitar work in particular, really lovely to listen to. Will return one day.

Love that sound

Really sweet actually. This was a great vid l coffee album, where I could sit and let my mind wander around.

rico jazz, estuvo tranquilo para el domingo

Feel like I’m sitting in a jazz cafe in Amsterdam with Higgins

Súper ameno y alegre, para mí inexperto oído para el jazz, suena increíble.

Это красиво. Словно глоток воздуха после всего, что я услышал.

fun bossa nova fav song: Samba Dees Days

Now THIS is samba

Great instrumental jazz that brought Samba to the USA. Fantastic for listening to while sipping a caipirinha. My dad would have loved this album (and maybe he did). Here's to you, dad.

Upbeat and fun. Great to throw on when cooking or hosting a dinner party.

Classic. I wish I could play like this but a bit too chill for me and I’m not sophisticated enough to get the nuance.

If this was indeed the introduction of bossa nova to the US, I can see why it caused such a stir. It's nice, not too intricate, a good primer I'd imagine. In that sense, the influence is immeasurable. Would I listen to it all the time? No. Is it worth listening to from time to time? For sure. We'll give this one a solid 4, with a heavy dose of recognition.

Don't know very much about Samba, let's just say it's good

Went into it thinking it was going to be some easy listening jazz album, then the samba percussions and cavaquinho entered the stage after the warm greeting of the bass and saxophone. While not quite a lengthy album, I'm sure I will see myself coming back to some of these songs for an escape into relaxation and most likely put this on to stay motivated with hobbies and house work. Not a genre that I normally feel connected to, but this one definitely stands out for it's vibes and bright atmosphere that helps provide a positive mindset.

He loves a cocktail I bet

Pretty classic relaxing jazz, would listen again with some coffee and a book. Preferably on vinyl

Lekker met de zon in je snufferd en deze muziek op mn oren, it's pure bliss

Such an easy listen. Loved every minute.

Truly a beautiful album but my only question is idk when or where I could listen to this again to get the full experience. The album sounds rich as f*** and I’m not flying to sit on a beach in Spain anytime soon. But otherwise it’s glorious.

A nice change of pace.

This was my first time sitting down and actually listening to Jazz; this was probably my first time sitting and listening to any instrumental stuff. I strangely enjoyed it. I was on a walk for half the album, and I got really lost in it. I actually enjoyed this to the point where I have made a Jazz/Instrumental playlist on my spotify. I thought the use of the guitar was lovely, and the layered percussion especially pricked the ear up. Favourites: Desfinado - lovely opener Samba Triste Samba De Uma Nota So E Luxo So - The panning of the sax left, and the strings on the right added a nice bit of depth to the piece

The generator blessed me today. Perfect album to listen to by the pool on vacation! 3.5/5

Lovely stuff. I'm not the most well-versed in jazz, but I know what I like from the genre when I hear it. Not sure when I'd actively reach for this as dedicated listening, but it fit the bill spectacularly well this morning as a soundtrack for getting ready for the day.

I was not familiar with Jazz Sambo. Liked it, but it was not something that catches my soul. Overall i will rate this album like 8/10

Very jazzy! Perfect for when I'm doing other things and I just like a good, peaceful tune to go along with it. It's upbeat, which i likey

Some of the songs on the album are quite nice however, I find it a bit repetitive.

I prefer jazz with vocals but this is an amazing album

This was a fun listen. It felt like being on vacation.

Such a vibe!!

Is it crazy to say this guy had the wildest feature list of the 60s. Like no one was throwing out feature albums like Stan Getz. And he was dropping banger after banger of straight boss nova bangers.

Surprisingly calm and measured, Brazilian influence is there and makes it a relaxing listening experience.

I’ll admit, I don’t know the first thing about what makes for good Samba, but I do know that I enjoyed the easy listening this provided. Clean, simple. Immaculate vibes.

ya like jazz? yes. yes i do.

Super cozy, great background. 8/10

Took the time to listen to this in bed, and I'm glad I did! Found it very relaxing, with just enough bolts to keep my feet tapping away under my duvet. Despite being centered around the sax and guitar work, I honestly found the bass to be the most engaging element here! Perfect for an afternoon snooze. Favourite tracks: "Desafinado", "Samba de uma Nota Só", "Bahia"

A casual jazz standard. Smooth as smooth can get with touches of these artists ringing through.

Calm and relaxing jazz album. Nuff said

This albums a real joy and the instrumentation is excellent. In the right atmosphere this album is an easy 5 but since my day to day life doesn’t fit the music too much it takes a way a little of my enjoyment so for me it’s a 4

Some more great dinner making music. Will never hate on this

this is good music to sleep to and im saying that in a good way

This is a nice chill album. Jazz is definitely not my thing, but I like jazz mixed with samba.

Not much to say. Got me grooving. Low on emotional impact but thoroughly pleasant experience. Easily want to hear this again, but definitely didn't blow me away enough for 5 stars. - Jazzy! Warm sax, swinging percussion. STRONG intro - This really is a jazz samba fusion. I love it - Not much to say. Got me grooving. Low on emotional impact but thoroughly pleasant experience.

There’s a russian phrase ‘To give a jazz’ which means either to hang out widely or to fart

I typically find jazz albums enjoyable, but I lose interest at various points. I have written numerous times here that I enjoy jazz live much more than recorded. As soon as this album began, I was immediately intrigued. I liked the more peppy sound of the Bossa Nova, and my interest continued throughout. Mostly I loved the guitar playing, and those were my favorite parts of each song. Standouts for me were Samba Dees Days, O Pato, and E Luxo So, but I enjoyed all of it very much.

very pleasant :) i like samba :)

thank goodness robert dimery liked samba or else this list would be miserable old white guys all the way down favorites: desafinado, samba dees days, o pato, e luxo so

As soon as I listen to the first song I liked it. It wasn’t exciting, but it’s chill. It’s a nice break from all the rock albums I’ve been getting. This album is something to play if you need to relax or own a bookstore.

Short, sweet, and quite classy. Favourite track(s): Samba Dees Days, E Luxo So Least Favourite Track(s): O Pato, Bahia

Álbum bué fixe, talvez não o ouça com frequência mas gostei bastante

Really enjoyed this one! It's a relaxing 30min album full of smooth sounds and catchy melodies. I really enjoyed "Desafinado", didn't know it would be on here! Would be interested in getting the record.

Super cool! Smooth as silk. Almost crosses the line from jazz to easy listening at times, but I like it. 4

really nice and relaxing chilled jazz album

This album gave me joy. It was fun to run throught my shenanigans with this music in the background 8/10

It's Jazz and Samba. Jamba juice lmao.

Smooooooth.

Not my favorite flavor of Getz and Byrd, but they're still amazing. 16th album, 16th album by men. Seriously. WTF.

Smooth, smooth, SMOOTH! No complaints here, just relaxed vibes.

A very nice laid back listen.

One of those albums that is both critically acclaimed and almost universally liked, if not loved. Unfortunately it’s so inoffensive that it’s aged into the territory of “elevator music” and it’s hard to appreciate how much work goes into making a tune that just sounds, well, good.

Very 60s. Very casual. Matter but air. Solid but liquid. Fluid but firm. Jazz....

Interesting album 7.5/10

First Listen; 3.5; Really enjoyable album. Has such an easygoing feeling while still being complex and very tight rhythmically. Very distinct rhythm and drums. Don't know exactly how to describe it, but almost a feeling of someone sashaying across the room. Favorite Track: Desafinado

A nice relaxing jazz album. I liked it

Suave and smooth. I liked this music already, and will always give it listen. Fun rhythms, great saxaphone, so smooth and chill. Highlights: the album

Очень приятная сатурация на саксофоне(?) 1 трек очень крутой и интересный. последний тоже. Сам альбом маленький , что хорошо, т.к . идеи тоже повторяются и это звучит уже не так интересно .

Just a couple of masters of their class just playing for 40 mins, and it's pretty great. Can't say much more than that

JAZZZZZZZZZ The guitar on Samba De Uma Nota So is rad.

these guys were really pickin up what the other one was puttin down

This could not have been any smoother. Really enjoyable, I don't think I can quite make it to 5 stars simply because I don't think that any part of it would jump out to me on another listen. Said differently, I don't think I would know for sure that I was listening to *this* samba album, or one of many other similar ones. I played on Spotify, and at the end it played suggested similar songs and I liked all of the ones that came after (by different artists) just as much, so this may have been the first but I don't have the experience or the vocabulary to specifically say that this particular album is *great*. I think Raymond is in the room.

Pretty nice, not a genre I would normally listen to. Good while working.

good and smooth

Now we're gettin somewhere. This was an enjoyable recording. I was unaware that this was the first release of The Girl from Ipanema.

Overall good album not to many skips for it being only 33 minutes long good for work ambience

100th Album... still no So 😢 This was probably the 60s lofi study mix. I love how the guitar and the saxophone blend so seamlessly here. I probably wouldn't listen to all the songs in one sitting but they'd make good interludes for my playlist (3.5-4).

It was good, I’m starting to like jazz

Ooh - this is bloody lovely, very easy listening but fabulous playing, really cool interplay between Getz and Byrd (recorded in 4 hours in a church? Insane), and like a lot of jazz albums of the period, the cover art makes me want to run out and buy it.

Aptly named and lots of fun to listen to!

Yesterday: “ARE YOU OKAY???” Today: “hm… yes… life is… breezy…” Jazz Samba feels like: You just committed tax fraud but in a charming European way. It’s: Calm Warm Slightly smug Deeply vibey If Korn is drywall punching, Jazz Samba is gently adjusting cufflinks.

1001 albums you must listen to before you die #1 I don’t really listen to this style of jazz, But I gotta say it sounds really good Favorite tracks: Desafinado, Samba dees days, E luxo so, Bahia Least favorite track: O pato Rating 4/5

you kike jazz? ("bee movie", 2007)

Beautiful album

This was really fun! Very approachable and enjoyable jazz album. The Latin sounds added a lot that you don't often get in a lot of jazz records. Really nice listen. I'll come back to this one.

Great entry level jazz but needs some spice to be a 5

Very nice

Great jazz. Perfect for a stroll by the water or sipping on a cocktail. Not as memorable as some of the other jazz albums on this list, but a fantastic, soulful addition nonetheless.

this album is second only to Jazz Samba Encore!

Love Stan Getz

Very nice and chill

Jaaaa heel chille muziek om op de achtergrond aan te hebben, helemaal de vibe

Really like this alblum. When I think of smooth jazz this what I think of. Very enjoyable, relaxing and soothing lusten

Yo this elevator music be HITTING

I feel like this is the samba record I have always been looking for. Maybe its the mix of jazz with it, or something else, but nothing else in the samba/latin realm has really struck me the way this did. Perfect chill, vibe music. I loved this.

Such good background music

I usually proceed with a cautious wince before pushing play on a record with jazz in the title, but this was a nice surprise. Like I’ve said before, I can bossa my nova with the best of them, and if you throw some samba sauce on it, well…I’m all in. I was immediately transported to the back room of the copa, where the drinks are heavy poured and the smoke in the air is even heavier. This record can make any cat feel more hip, even if just for 33 minutes. An overall really fun listen.

This was saucy. Makes me wish I had any rhythm at all, but would def vibe to this again. Between numbers for me, going with the extra half point here.

Super easy-listening. No flaws just vibes Samba Triste was my song of the album

Obwohl ich mich nicht wirklich mit Jazz verbunden fühle, mag ich dieses Album. Schöne Musik.

Mellow af

Some solid jazzy tones

Couldn't even stop raining for me to listen to this

Remarkably smooth bossa nova. I’ve never heard this album before, but I’m sure glad I have now. I’m not sure this is something that I’d actively seek out and listen to on a normal day, but something this jazzy and cool certainly has a place somewhere in my lifetime. I very much enjoyed listening, and grooving, to this one.

pretty chill listen

Feb/5/2026 Album genial buen trabajo del tenor sax y la clean guitar 7,8/10

My kind of jazz album. Great feel and rhythm, and a pleasant listen throughout

This was quite interesting. Ryan didn't like the first song since it sounded like something for a hotel lobby or Severance.

Really cool so I liked it

Excellent album!! I unfortunately don't reach for a lot of lyricless music, but maybe I'll put it on the next time I'm playing Canasta Hand and Foot with my grandparents

I listened to this album while cleaning up a few trophies in A Little To The Left. Jazz has always been a bit of a blind spot for me as a genre; I have always loved what bits of jazz I have heard, especially when other genres take influence from it, but my exposure to the genre by itself has been lacking. Thus, I am very glad that this list has already gotten me to listen to two great jazz albums. Where Head Hunters was more experimental, this is just some nice, classic jazz! This is the kind of album which feels designed to be pressed on a vinyl record and played during a dinner party, and I mean in that in the most complimentary of ways. I don't yet have enough experience with jazz to start differentiating between projects much, but I know that I vibe with this album a lot and I shall keep it in my rotation. Highlights: Desafinado, Samba Dees Days, Samba Triste, Samba De Uma Nota So

Mellow

At last! A 'proper' jazz album, a month in and this is the first one that's come up. I dont own this one, so diving in with great expectations. Mostly Brazilian Bossa Nova compositions, one by Byrd, all arranged by Getz.

Honestly pretty good doesn’t outstay its welcome and is sweet and caring 8/10

Excellent

Very accessible as far as jazz goes - it's more uniform both in terms of melody and rhythm, but it still has the instrumental frills that make it interesting. Extremely easy to listen to as background, but enough going on to be interesting if you're paying attention. The tracks are different enough, and not so long that they get stale. The slight downside is that I don't find this kind of jazz as expressive and emotional, with the possible exception of "Baia" - but I found the bass line in this one a bit too repetitive. Highlights: - "Samba Dees Days" - this was a proper jam. Liked the upbeat feel, enjoyed the solos, it wasn't self indulgent, just good :) Very enjoyable overall, something I'd consider listening to again as background. Would possibly skip "Baia".

so smooth and calming yet so peppy, love it

Just lovely chill jazz without being sloppy or screechy.

Delightful, smooth, fun, exudes warmth and goodness listening to this. it makes your mood brighter. The saxophone is delightfully crafted and plays and twines around very warm and lush live bossa nova. It's maybe not groundbreaking but I think it invented this genre inlarge part and brings me such joy

Jazzy. Me likey

Solid combination album, it feels like it’s for an elevator or fancy restaurant in the best way possible. Would be 5 stars if it was something I’d go back to if this was the vibe im looking for.

Absolutely masterful execution of the samba style. Every song is unique with some of the most skillful instrumentation I've ever heard. The ending track "Bahia" was particularly impactful. A staple of the genre. Unbelievable playing here.

Reallllly nice bossa nova. Beautiful soft percussion and perfect rhythm. Made me feel like a beautiful tropical bird. I understand why people call this a masterpiece. Favorites: Desafinado, Samba Triste, Samba De Uma Nota So

Favorite - O Pato 8/10
