Delightful. Loved it.

Wonderful! So soothing

This knocked me over. I want an old fashioned and a blunt and a springtime evening porch. Not a note out of place.

Mazing

Lovely, sultry and smooth - I thoroughly enjoyed this album.

Oh God, I teleported to New York. Wish I could hear it in a snowy winter times. That's just warming fancy jazz!

I'd been listening to a bit of Bossa Nova lately, so this was good timing for me to listen. Charlie Byrd is absolutely amazing on this album. I really loved Samba Dees Days for the upbeat fun. But the lowkey numbers like Samba Triste and Bahia are amazing too. I listened to this one twice straight off the bat and it'll get plenty more listens.

It is part of my personal collection. A classic!

Amazing album, easy to listen to, can listen for most occasions

Remember that one time...when we were doing the album generator thing...and Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd was the album...and it was a Monday...and all of a sudden it was cool jazz Monday? That was awesome. 5

Instantly in a better mood!

This is rolling around in silk sheets. Jazz to die for.

Превосходный джаз. Не то что этот ваш Bitches Brew. От этого альбома веет теплом и весной.

The smoothest of the smooth. One thing I love about bossa nova sax is that light tone. Hard bop takes such a hard attack, which I definitely enjoy, but this is such an elegant, refined sound. Perfect at all times.

Nice! I don't know whether to give this a 4 or a 5. My first thought was a 5 because... well, there's nothing wrong with it! I really liked the Jazz guitar. I'm not familiar with Charlie Byrd and I probably should be. If I were to give it a 4 I would be deducting a point because It's a bit too jolly? A bit cheesy? I don't know, but I dig it. Ideally it would get a 4.5, That's the accurate score. I want to give it a 5 to mark it out as an album to return to, though. And that's what I'm going to do. But really it's a 4.5. Okay?

So, as far as Jazz goes, it doesn't really get "better" than this. Sure, there are individual songs and artists that are kings and queens of their genres, but this is more liike at a level where Getz and company are simply part of a different kingdom, equal to any other jazz royalty. I can't even imagine trying to make ratings and judge these people, all of them masters of their craft. Crazy when you think of it.

That’s some smooooooth jazz

Bossa Nova. Absolutely delicious. Early 60s. Beginning of Bossa Nova craze in US. Deeply cool. Immaculate vibes.

makes you dance!

Exactly what I needed just now! Jets flying by, loud outside. I closed the door, turned this up, felt good.

This album is why I’m doing this 1001 albums thing. Exposed to a classic. So much love for this album.

So laid back, this sort of music is almost horizontal, and it's none the worse for it. It does have a place, and that place for me would be having a smooth coffee and a fine cigarette in the Algarve or maybe a chilled, breezy coffee on the cote d'azure. Otherwise, in my imagination, I'm sipping a martini on the set of a 60s Bond Movie or perhaps a club where all the cool cats hang out.

Loved it 🥰

Lovely.

I'm a sucker for bossa nova, so this is an easy five.

Stan and Charlie sound great together. I had not heard this album before... Chill vibes.

I'm not really a listener of this genre. But mixing it with samba and when Stan starts to hit with his instrument I found myself loving it.

This album SLAPS. Listening is easy and vibes are good all around. 'Samba Triste' and 'Samba De Uma Nota So' tie for faves.

Yeah this is clean. I get it now.

Sweeeeet jazz

This was so wonderful. Super hummable and very groovy. I liked it so much I listened to it twice. Five stars.

Charlie Byrd is always perfect. This is a great jazz/samba/bossa nova record. Great Sunday morning listening.

4.6/5 listened 4x

One of those jazz albums, which you hear as background music in restaurants, bars, etc. But the music should really be listened to. Although both Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd have played much more complex pieces with technically much more difficult (to play and to listen to) solos, this album also shows their genius well. Also, so happy that at least once in a while there is a highlight like this on the list of 1001 albums among which there are so many mediocre rock and pop albums.

the title of the album says it all. Jazz samba tastefully presented that is simple yet complex. Wonderful collaboration that comes in at 33 minutes. Big fan.

Didn’t realize I was familiar with Bossa Nova, no less that I like it. Super smooth and enjoyable album.

I really enjoyed this fun album. It has lot's of Samba influences on it, so it has a latin emotion on it that somehow takes me to the 90's and the memories that I have of my early childhood. It takes me to TV show's my parents used to watch, but also to that tango and wine kind of vibe that reminds me of Bogotá. Fact: Antônio Carlos Jobim plays the piano on Desafinado and Samba De Uma Nota Só Labeled as: Bossa Nova Songs I loved: - Samba Triste

Smooth joy

This just goes so hard, you don't understand

Absolute beauty. What a treat.

A relaxing and smooth album to have on in the background while you relax with a nice cold drink after a long day at the office. Great infusion of jazz and samba

BRAZIL MENTIONED!! I know that Stan Getz is not Brazilian. But he did everything for it. In addition to the legendary album recorded with João Gilberto (which displaced the Beatles' A Hard Day's Night from #1 in the charts, suck it) there is also this one with Charlie Byrd. And these two albums together helped to spread the music of my homeland throughout the world. What rating other than 5 stars could I give, right?

Summery sounds, elegantly played, swinging and impeccable

Such an incredible mood.

Mega bello

Excellent! A perfect jewel of bossa nova.

Einfach schöner Smooth Jazz

It's jazz and it doesn't overstay it's welcome

A review by my wife Kristin. "I actually really like this. I'm not joking. It sounds like perfect hotel lobby music. There are no words to distract me. I can put it on and just do all of my work around the house. 5 stars!"

This album started the Bossa Nova craze in America. Fun record. Light. Soothing.

Wonderful music

It was so pleasant. Time out quality jazz.

Can inspire anyone to get into Bossanova just as it brought it to the country upon its' release. Short, simple, and rich

Beautiful sound. Great album to listen to as you work at your laptop.

Incredible. Anything with Stan Getz is full 5/5.

7/1/24. Happy July! Loved kicking off this month with some classic boss nova music, this was excellent and a great example of the genre. Will definitely be on rotation.

Fantastic. Getz is just an amazing musician and his interplay with Byrd is so well done. Truly a great piece of art. 5/5 Definitely will listen again

Loved this

Sweet ass dinner music.

Favourite songs: Samba Dees Days, O Pato, Desafinado, E Luxo So, Bahia Least favourite songs: if forced to pick, Samba De Uma Nota So 5/5

Fun, flirty and the perfect thing for summer

I have always loved the Samba beat. It just takes you away and seems to say "the world is crap we know, but just take a deep breath and relax"... It's beautiful music played with expertise. The only thing missing is Astrud who comes later. Sublime music.

Amazing!

Fantastic. I was previously unfamiliar with bossa nova, and who better to listen to than Stan Getz. And while I’ve never really gotten into jazz guitar (although have always respected it), I was drawn to Charlie Byrd. Wonderful. All of it just wonderful.

As a young drum student, I was taught that in addition to the rudiments, to be a more complete set drummer, I needed to master four styles of drumming: swing, shuffle, blues/rock, and bossa nova/samba in order to increase my chances of being prepared for most kinds of gigs. This advice proved to be very wise. When learning bossa nova/samba I did a ton of listening to this record by Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd. And what an approachable record it was for my young ears.It was fun revisiting this album so many years later and enjoying how forward thinking this genre clash of American swing jazz solos with latin backed rhythm patterns really was. It is still a great album that really cooks. This record might seem quaint but really it was mind blowing for the old cats of jazz who were moving out of big band and into bebop, free jazz, and eventually fusion. Without this record and others from this era that would prime American audiences to recognize Latin music, I am not sure that acts like Carlos Santana, Miami Sound Machine, etc. have quite the large impact in the U.S. that they so clearly have had. I feel like I should be drinking something out of a glass with an umbrella in it. It is that kind of smooth jazz.

It's an absolute classic. It. Is. So. Good. Great dinner time or late afternoon listening. Something about this album with the longer, warmer evenings just does it for me.

Masterful sax, outshines the guitar. The jazzy basslines and samba rhythms make this a masterpiece.

Come sottofondo per studiare è epico, l’ho ascoltato in loop per quasi tutto il pomeriggio

Super smooth bossa jazz.

This was fantastic. 5/5

There wasn't just a British Invasion in the early 1960s, there was also a musical invasion from Brazil. It was led by Astrud Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim and...this extraordinary album from Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd. The music is expressive, melodic and wonderful, still.

Ya like jazz? This album? Yea. Yea.

Awesome chill album. V lite

helemaal leuk, lekker voor het koken of de tuin

Stunning jazz album

There is a time and place for everything, same goes for this album. Time: anytime. Place: anywhere.

Short and sweet. Easy listening for eating, socializing, and putting the moves on the SO. Good gateway into Brazilian-tinged jazz.

I really enjoy jazz music and don’t know why I don’t listen to it more regularly. This and the following songs that came up on Spotify sound like something I could listen to at dinner, dance to, or hear on a vacation. Good vibes!

I’m not normally a big jazz fan but this was amazing

Charlie "Yardbird" Parker and Stan Getz, nothing else to say here. Two of the greatest Jazz musicians on the same album.

Great album, great listen.

Great jazz album! 5/5

It's an amazing album, i really enjoyed it.

Perfect fussion of bossa nova and jazz, thank you getz/gilberto

Wow. I love this album so much. From Getz’s whimsical saxophone playing, to Byrd’s elegant guitar playing, it is just perfect. While each song brings a different vibe to the table, they maintain the same theme throughout the album. I LOVE BOSSA NOVA!!!!

Usually, I don't like jazz. However, this album was easy to listen to.

Love it so much

bara ef öll tónlist væri svona

This era of jazz is right in my sweet spot. Love that samba sound.

kolejny cudowny album

Great album to potty train your 2 year old to.

Groovy

I felt like i was trapped in an elevator. And i liked it.

Ah...this was a great listen if you like this sort of thing. Enjoy!

Absolute winner. Album art: I see a dog wearing aviators. What do you see?

Perfect

Definitely a vibe … Goldilocks zone of just right

So smooth. Reminds me of tropical nights, rum cocktails, and sloppy kisses. I can hear the influence of Jobim and precursor to Gilberto classics; this album deserves a shrine the likes of \"Cristo Redentor.\" If you need me, you can find me on a binge of Bossa Nova for the rest of the day.

Warm night, cool breeze, candle light and cocktails. Smoooooth, mellow and a relaxing listen. Classic!

Very cool

Adding samba to jazz is the equivalent of adding pineapple to a pizza. Some people will absolutely hate it, others will think it's the best thing ever. Bon appetit!

An amazing listen, it was really fun, I love all the songs and it makes it easy to listen because of the duration of the album, so, it's perfect.

Agradável demais! Uma obra que vale a pena tê-lo em forma física!

Stan Getz sax tone alone gets this 4 stars. A classic

Cool, Jazz, Bossa Nova!

Fantastic album. Smooth, easy listening, something to toss on while eating dinner or hanging on the deck with a drink

Love ittt!!!! so for me, beautiful saxophone and strings

This album is everything I look for in upbeat jazz. The mix of tango almost made it all the better. I listened too it for at least 4 hours

Amazing jazz, heavy on sax

Great album. Listened twice.

Absolute classic. It doesn't get much better than this.

Not a huge Jazz guy but this was great.

Great album! 5 stars

I loved this - such smooth music. Certainly need to listen to more jazz!

Great classic jazz!

Great album. Seemed to be an unlikely pairing but they sound awesome together. I wish there was more jazz on the list but I really appreciate this choice.

Smooth and energetic all at once. The whole album is a groove from beginning to end and keeps your mind focused

Unexpected Pleasure. Thank You 5 Stars

Really enjoyed this album. Like the vibe and tone it sets. I could (and will) listen to this over and over.

great music for a relaxed dinner

Amazing album. I really needed to listen to this before a big work event and it put me in a swell mood!

For relaxing!

Enjoyed this a lot…Bossa Nova’s kick off in the states…this is great music to end a night or listen to at a brunch spot…I’m pretty sure I’ve heard some of these tracks in restaurants. Getz’s sax & Byrd’s guitar were great together…and it hinted at one of my favorites, “The Girl from Ipanema”, which would hit 2 years later.

Incredible

All instrumental, great music, some of my favorite jazz ive listened to. 9/10

Jazzy samba!

Immaculate vibes

This slaps.

Somehow calming and exciting simultaneously. Able to evoke a joy and passion for love. All I can think about is dancing at my wedding

Amazing!

Smooth as silk. One of the easiest listens ever. Perfect mood music.

I absolutely lived this. Will definitely listen again.

Pretty good jazz

Great album!!

Very soothing sound, didn't expect to like jazz, but this one feels light and pleasant to the ears, almost like it's constantly whispering something sweet and worthwhile in my ears, just a delight to listen to, either when paying attention to it, or when busy with else, easycore in the best way possible, maybe the jazz elitists have a point, this does in a way make me feel "cooler", it has a sort of profound element to it. as snobby as this may sound, i do feel like i lack the proper musical apprehension to fully appreciate it/ dunk on it. for now a 5/5 (established: rating system (6 ranks for simplicity), 1/5 a bad listen, 2/5 bearable, wouldn't hate it, just wouldn't put it on myself. 3/5 decent, didn't fall in love with it, but its nice from time to time 4/5 replay worthy, good listen and fun sound. 5/5 something more, praise worthy and replayable many times over. perfect: one of my favourites of all time, i liked this album so much it's going to be in my good list to spam on repeat, almost as if i wish to absorb it, and make it a part of me, a piece of art.)

A master class in the genre

I have loved this album for many years before this list existed. I wish I could host a fancy cocktail party with this as the inspiration.

Really enjoyed this as background music - not too obnoxious in either jazz or samba

Awesome

Super smooth and relaxing...transports you right to the tropics

simply "wow" - great recording of great music by a great artist

Like it

Those vibes!

Breath of fresh, invigorating air. Relaxing, soothing but also energetic and inspiring. LOVE!

Really liked the music

love! soulful and upbeat. great guitar and latin tones.

Jazz rocks

Loved it! Need to listen to more of this!

Great listening album Warm smooth jazz No lyrics

Great Collaborator! Love Stan Getz & this LP is excellent! A great way to start your day!

Bossa Nova is my happy place.

Jazz samba is amazing, I played the album 3 times. Amazing!

Not my favorite style of music. Great musicians, some familiar songs.

Very interesting. Jazz is not something I know much about, but I really liked this.

Love this! Listened to it twice in a row! Great for work.

I feel like Im sitting on the beach looking alot cooler than I actually deserve

I was not familiar with bosa nova style before. It is very cool actually!

great jazz album, i don’t really listen to jazz but this was nice and funky little brazilian tune. Good study music.

Another Getz I like

YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! Beyond perfect. This is another level of beautiful

This is some excellent feel-good music for the Christmas season. The sound is very clear but also super warm. The album as a whole feels like a movie soundtrack - the mood changes subtly from track to track. I know very little about jazz, but among the albums that represent the genre on this list, Jazz Samba was one of my favorites.

This was a really nice listen while I got it together in the morning. I'll listen to this again.

A really delightful, bossa nova jazz album by Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd. Smooth and accessible for any level of listener. This is the kind of jazz that was really influential on all the jazz pop music that was around in the 1970s and 80s, so it's fresh to me, but also feels really familiar. My only complaint is that it's far too short! Fave Songs (All songs, from most to least favorite): Desafinado, É Luxo Só, Samba Triste, O Pato, Samba Dees Days, Samba de Uma Nota Só, Bahia

Great album. Was familiar with the first song on it and enjoyed the rest of the album as well.

Nice listen. Great jazz. Smooth.

Magnificent. Takes me right where I want to be.

Amazing

It was jazz. It was samba. What is not to like

I love it!!!!!!

AMAZING

Very enjoyable! Would definitely revisit this album.

It was beautiful and I saved 2 songs

Great album-if you're looking for a great example of bossa nova sounds, here you go. Loved it.

Loved this sound. Would like to play through it one day on the piano.

Just good music. Loved it.

Stan gertz is the goat

Joe said making dinner music.

Love love love it. The haters will scoff and say “it sounds like elevator music” in a dumb Mean Girly voice and that’s how you’ll know not to be friends with them anymore. I hope there are other albums on here by each of these two because this isn’t the best of either, but if you can’t lounge in these warm waters then you can get out of my pool.

cool, moving jazz, relaxing, making me feel fluid

After giving yet another classic jazz album a high score - I've realized I get much more enjoyment out of this genre than I previously anticipated. I frankly didn't/don't know where to start when it comes to jazz from the 50s/60s/70s but WOW. Call it a coincidence but I think this and the last jazz record (Keith Garrett) I got get a perfect score! The musicianship on this record is a perfect combo of technically impressive with wonderfully soothing. Great record. Awesome artwork too!

Love this one

This album is great for driving, or cooking dinner, or just lazing around. Beautiful music played very well.

This bossa nova album is SO SMOOTH! It’s relaxing, rhythmic, and would make great cooking music.

Yeah I mean, its definitely Jazz Samba. Thats just what it is. Perfectly cool.

Great jazz album. Listened to it twice and added to my collection.

So damn good. Best album so far from this website. I took a history of jazz class in school and it was amazing. This album was great.

Perfection

Excellent for chilling and having guests over.

superduper

Heeeeeurlijk!!!

I like it very much

Getz, perhaps more than any other individual, has showcased the delights of the saxophone to a broader public. His style and tone are composed, his flourishes mannered, his melodies eternal. Charlie Byrd accompanies him on this album, and the two interweave, playing off each other's licks with relish. Jazz Samba so completely defines a style, that it has spawned countless talentless imitators who are keen to recreate that perfect laid-back, but vivacious, lounge/bar/beach/hang-out. Listen to the breath-control in the opening line of O Pato though. The emotion in three pulses on one note. There's the detail and level of intricacy required.

Simply GLORIOUS! What a sexy album. Yay now I can dance along with the samba I learnt in the Brazilian Circus hehe

A genre-defining album and one of my absolute favourites. It's already in my frequent rotation of albums. I must say I prefer the album with Jobim and Gilberto though.

5 fucking stars dude. Love this shit.

Smooth, really liked it

When I listen to Sam Getz's music, I always imagine it playing over a montage of a young couple's first date in the city at night.

One of the best of all time. Just lovely.

Such a classic album. Personal fan of Stan Getz so was great one to listen too!

great bossa nova record, charlie byrd's guitar work is exquisite, and the guitar and sax harmonies are next level

Beautiful. Instantly puts a smile on your face.

Sultry, very full and well produced. Although the melodies and harmonies generally aren’t over-the-top complicated or pretentious, they are always interesting and never boring. This is the sonic equivalent of a nice coffee at a cafe, shaded by a tree from the warm summer sun. Album cover’s pretty cool too

really nice album to listen on a long sunny day

so very good! takes you away to another place and time

Wow! Really enjoyed this album! Very different from my usual listening, but musically it is aces! Good for different occasions and helped me stay calm in really bad traffic!

Achei muito incrível o jeito que entraram na música, muito elegante e chique ótimo pra quando tiver tomando um vinho bem caro!!!

"Jazz Samba" by Stan Getz is a bossa nova gem that's both uplifting and relaxing. Charlie Byrd's guitar perfectly captures the feel-good jazz and Brazilian vibes. Dive into the '60s bossa nova wave with this one! Highly recommended.

Center of a Venn diagram for me

10/10 i love jazz

Fantastic album when you're feeling for some ultra-smooth jazz. My Dad used to listen to it when I was little and I haven't heard it in forever. Now I know why he loved it so much.

Classic

Lovely

Jazz 5 Samba 5 Jazz Samba? 5

Beautiful music

It isn't really memorable but somehow it does not matter because it is still beautyful. I was going to give it 4 but it grew on me. Now I think that I will feel bad if I rate it 4.

Amazing music that is really fun to listen to. This album may have changed my uncharitable opinions about the saxophone.

Boss’s Nova and America start right here (vinyl sounds real good)

Fuaaa. Discazo que hacía eones que no escuchaba (LNB)

felt like i was dancing with ryan gosling in la la land ! <3

I did not think I would like this, but turns out its fantastic!

YES, this is great!

I'll take all the samba.

Silky smooth, but also energizing

Bossa nova is my comfort zone. Everything here is working together to create that nice groove and cozy feel. Stan has this amazing warm tone that is instantly recognizable. 4 is my fave here

Just about perfect slice of sunshine 🌞

Everything I could ask for from a classic Laton Jazz album

Glorious! From a utilitarian point of view this album is like a nanobot constructor swarm - put it on and luxuriate as the rough edges of your mood are smoothed away and you're transported to somewhere peaceful and warm. 😍 Fave tracks - "Desfinado" is a lovely opener, and "E Luxo So" has echoes of "Aquarela Do Brasil" and I'm a sucker for anything that reminds me of the "Brazil" soundtrack!

This pretty much is my happy place now?

Own on Vinyl

Another great jazz record - this time with a samba flavour - it doesn’t need many words to say it’s wonderful.

Jaaaaaazzzzzzz

Great Album. Nice feel!

Great Jazz, very upbeat

Loved it

Very good music to fall asleep to.

niiiiiiiiiiiiiice

I liked this one. I can definitely see myself putting it on in the future as a sort of background music. I have nothing to say about the songs themselves because they all sort of blended together for me, but the overall mood was very agreeable to me.

this makes me want to sit on a beach with a fruity umbrella drink. five stars

AMEEEE

Today I learned I actually do like bossa nova

Just excellent.

Smooth easy to relax to and enjoy music that made me move around. Very cool!

Nice jazz!! smooth

a fine addition to my jazz collection

Flawless, pleasant record

Never had I really listened to a Bossa Nova album; I sure wished I did earlier. The album is a great album to listen to, especially as background music during study and work. Although I can not just name one track that really stands out, I do find myself going back to this album all the time.

C'est tellement du bon jazz, tellement mon style que je me suis meme pas rendu comtpe que l'album était terminé et j'ai écouté pendant 1h30... 5

Great album. Stan Getz playing is so smooth I love his rhythmic feel. Charlie Byrds bluesier guitar playing is the perfect contrast too. Cool arrangements. First and last songs are my favorite. Love the double bass on Bahia

One of my favs! Charlie byrds playing is really cool on this. Probably my fav of the 60’s American bossa crossover. A perfect record!

I can’t remember exactly when I crossed over from thinking “Bossanova = Muzak” to “the styles loosely labeled as Bossa Nova = groovy, accessible jazz played by incredibly talented musicians.” But I did, and have never looked back. This album fits the bill, being of course one of the original efforts to popularize (and in this case reproduce) this music in the USA. Sure, it can provide great atmosphere as background music for cocktail hour, but there’s so much to enjoy in every track on close listening. I was much less familiar with this record than some others (Getz/Gilberto for example), but I loved it. A shout-out to the engineer and mixer too - rarely have I enjoyed hard panning so much as when listening to these legends through headphones.

For decades, one of my favorite albums has been Getz/Gilberto. How then, did I miss this wonderful previous work? Getz's saxophone is warm and familiar to me, and I loved the addition of Charlie Byrd's guitar. It definitely feels like jazz meets samba, and so is an apt title. This delightful album made me swoon. Blame it on the bossa nova!

That was just wonderful! I guess I love Jazz Samba. Very smooth!!

Utterly delightful.

One thing I can say is that this project has made me realize that I like jazz. At least as much as any genre. Jazz encompasses a wide range like any other genre. Stan Getz is truly one of my favorites. I adore this album. Those smooth bossa nova beats have me drifting off into some blissful place. I definitely need to spend more time with music like this.

Great background music. Good energy and consistent

Generally speaking I don't know exactly how to judge jazz, however I loved the "sweetness" of the sax it wasn't agressive or too passive, it was just on point. The timing of the percussions also was perfect, really it was one of the best jazz albums.

Loved it.

This was a joy to read to

I love it! O Pato!! This song keeps finding me. What a fun album, honestly.

Ya like jazz

I don't really need to listen to this to know I'm going to love it. I listened to it. I loved it.

Really nice and chill, I loved it! Great for background music and to study!

Awesome chill, Sunday jazz

very danceable!

Great album!

A classic!

Very relaxing and musically full.

Reminds me of summer 1954, when I cruised around the Amalfi coast in my convertible Fiat, wooed beautiful Italian women, and did other stuff I completely made up for the purposes of this review.

Felt like I was at a Rom Burgundy concert, and I liked it.

Amazing and chill

PERFECT JAZZ

This is good, damm good

Cool textures and rythms are found throughout.

Great! I’ve never given jazz a good listen before!

A whole vibe

ну стэн гетц конечьно не оджи боссановер но он круто коллабил с челами типа жильберто... всем кто не в теме рекомендую найти эти траки с вокалом, они очень вайбовые!

Every song in this album is an easy, relaxing listen. Really enjoyed E Luxo So on first listen.

Glorious.

I mean, is this a complete white colonization of samba, or is this jazzy/chilly heaven? Samba/bosa nova is itself a product of colonization! Can a colonial art form be further colonized? Any way, five stars for the chill factor, but I reserve the right to critique and update based on cultural violence.

Sadly this arrived on a rainy day, not the best weather for Jazz Samba, but still great playing. Smooth and mellow to a fault.

That's my jam... Pure bliss. Highlight: Desafinado

based asf easy 10/10

10/10. This was like the perfect chill studying music. Was not expecting to like this as much as I did.

I need more jazz samba in my life

Awesome, Brazil is so great!

oo another 5?

I love bossa nova, love Getz, love Spanish guitar,… love the album. It’s sexy af.

This one was much better than I expected. Might come back to it

Quem der menos de 5 tem de ser banido

I didn't expect to like this.

Groovy as shit
