Popular Reviews

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen

This was a good time. Felt like I was at a campfire with the dude just listening to the man’s stories. He knows whats up

In Rainbows by Radiohead

There aren't many better ways to spend 45 minutes in this life than this. Also Disk 2 is amazing as well

Purple Rain by Prince
May 10 2023

I went into this album thinking that i wouldn't like it but wow... I was surprised to say the least. It really is one of the greatest pop albums of the 80s. With every track I can hear the influence it made on even today's music. Can't give anything less than a 5.

May 11 2023

Decent album with delucious synth sounds but reminds me a lot of Naked and Famous and I think they do it better. Great opening track tho.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
May 12 2023

The two most popular tracks are bangers but all together it's just not for me :(

The Renaissance by Q-Tip
May 15 2023

Some biig bangers on this one and you can really hear the J Dilla influence (he literally mentions him). Nice sounds, cool samples.

Heroes by David Bowie
May 16 2023

I still just don't like Bowie that much... But this album surprised me. The instrumental tracks were awesome and with those this one is his best I've heard so far.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
May 17 2023

A solid album that i wouldnt normally listen to

May 19 2023

One of the best albums oat... Also one of the first albums that kinda got me away from pop music and edm at like 12 years old Of Moons is still one of the best pieces of music ever made

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
May 20 2023

Undeniably one of the most influential and one of the best albums ever made. Perfect album cover as well 10/10

May 21 2023

very 80s for me i love the synths of course but definitely not something i would listen to in general

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
May 22 2023

The best album that I discovered here so far... I didn't know the band before besides their popular song, Happy House, which I love. After a few listens it's definitely going to be among my favourites.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
May 24 2023

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
May 28 2023

I imagined blasting this album while cruising along the highway in my pickup on the west coast, but I can not imagine listening to this album in any other way haha

May 29 2023

A really unique pice of art... For some reason I thought UK rap started in the 2010s :( A very real album, which I didn't think would put me through a journey like this The first song made me think of the movie Beau is Afraid lol

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
May 31 2023

I would just never listen to this type of stuff... I give it 2 stars just because it's not as bad as 90s pop

Jun 01 2023

I mean I was never big on coldplay but this is an okay album. I obviously liked the very popular songs on it, but most of the time it's just the band trying to sound like radiohead, but they're just not as good.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jun 02 2023

kind of a one dimensional album. But it was fine

Jun 03 2023

One of the absolute best albums of all time. A looot of 10/10 songs like Runaway, Power, Monster and so on... Nicki Minaj's best performance and I could go on and on. Everybody should listen to this one.

This one is good and probably one of his best for me but its only because of the instrumental. I didnt like the title track I dont know what people are praising that one for. Fame was cool af tho. John Lennon doing stuff. Altogether I wish this wasnt on the list and instead we got an actual funk record which sounds just as cool, but no. We need to get the popular white man on here.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Feb 27 2024

A basic ass cover album? Don't think I've heard a bad version of You Don't own me before. Did the guy who wrote the book have a crush on the woman or what?

White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
Feb 28 2024

I said I couldn't hit it sideways Now just like Now just like I said oh, oh, just like Am-ph-ph-ph-ph-phetamine so good man.

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Mar 03 2024

This was an interesting one. Maybe with a few more listens it could be a 4. Good album for my train ride.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Mar 04 2024

That was very different to what i was expecting wow. A deserved 4 I can see myself revisiting this one

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Mar 06 2024

I’m gonna have to give this one a 3 I dont think I’ll be listening to this one again. I think most of their albums are better. I HATE rock operas thats mostly why. It sounds amazing and there are many good sections, whole songs, but I just cant put it up to 4 stars. It’s overrated and way too long

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Mar 07 2024

This one is perfect to hear at a nice dinner, but it doesn't even compare to the jazz albums I've heard so far on this list.

Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings
Mar 08 2024

not my thing, but some good songs, probably one of the best country albums I've heard so far

Ramones by Ramones
Mar 09 2024

Such a good one. I wish it sounded a little better but still great music. Maybe a liittle repetitive, but still good fun

Roxy Music by Roxy Music
Mar 10 2024

The first song was sooo good but then it got kinda glam rocky which was disappointing

Mar 13 2024

Was a fun time

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Mar 15 2024

This was soooo good whaat

Parachutes by Coldplay

Kind of a bad Radiohead album but some good tracks

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Mar 17 2024

Not gonna be my favourite but the man is talented wow

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Mar 19 2024

It just didnt excite me rn idk why. It was kinda boring

Cross by Justice
Mar 21 2024

This was soooo great. The Daft Punk influence is undeniable to the point, where these guys were listening to Discovery every morning on their way to the studio, but they still created something unique that was also influential to the sound of the 2010s. The Party really is ass, that's why it's not a 10/10. I'd rate it 4.5/5

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Mar 23 2024

Goodamn

Liquid Swords by GZA
Mar 24 2024

Heard it a few times now and is a solid one with a ton of clever rhymes. No outstanding tracks so I dont think I'll revisit, so I have to give it a 3.5

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Mar 25 2024

So all over the place damn.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Mar 26 2024

Still not the biggest fan of them and I think their less pop-sounding stuff is better but this has a lot of variety and a lot to like on it. Sister Morphine was my favorite.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Mar 27 2024

Idk kinda feeling nothing about this. But it wasnt bad at all

Mar 28 2024

Interesting and sounded good but I dont think I'm gonna revisit. Probably many more albums more deserving of the spot even from the 2020s

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Mar 31 2024

Such a pretty album. Just what I needed for a nice walk at night.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Apr 01 2024

The other album might be better but tons of bangers on this one and the mixing is better too

1989 by Taylor Swift
Apr 02 2024

Its generic pop stuff. Some songs sounded like Carly Rae jepsen whos better. Almost every song sounded the same. Cant imagine anyone out of high school listening to this one.

Tommy by The Who
Apr 06 2024

Not so good. I hope this is not their best

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Apr 07 2024

The Message Instrumental is the highlight. Not really my favorite sound, but a funky 80s album. Can't say I didn't enjoy it once

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Apr 08 2024

I almost gave this one a five because of the second track daaaamn is it groovy

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Apr 09 2024

This one is one of the best 90s rap records. I wanna get it on vinyl

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
Apr 10 2024

My dad would love it im sure and I wouldnt mind hearing this at an 80s party, but nothing really exceptional

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Apr 11 2024

Definitely interesting but I don't love it as much as I want to

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 13 2024

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Apr 14 2024

Yeah i dont know still not my favorites. Loved the first track tho

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Apr 15 2024

Might be the best smiths album. I didnt like the ending of the album. Started off very strong

Way too clean for me but a fun one. Rapping is cringe of course but come on... way too many 1 star reviews. At least this one isn't the same old 70s dad rock or brit-pop record that makes up half of this list. This one is fun.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Apr 18 2024

Actually not as bad as I thought. I disliked Limp Bizkit much much more

Ten by Pearl Jam
Apr 20 2024

I really dont think this one deserves to be called Grunge, and nowhere near Nevermind. Not too bad dad rock record, but not that interesting for me.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 21 2024

Yeah this is inifintely better than the debut. Loved it

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Apr 22 2024

If the Cure and New Order weren’t interesting at all theyd make this

Apr 23 2024

Theres not enough Queen hate on this platform. I just really dont like Rock Operas but this is probably one of the best ones out there so okaay a 3

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Apr 24 2024

Gonna give it a 5 just to contrast the asses for giving it a 1 star. This was sooo amazing in the rain on a wednesday morning. Suddenly the weather wasnt so bad

Apr 25 2024

It was pretty nice, but a little all over the place. I like his voice i dont know what people are on tbh

May 02 2024

Pretty interesting album a little too pop sounding for me but definitely not BORING come on

Be by Common
May 03 2024

This was a VIBEY chicago rap record. Had fun

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
May 04 2024

Love me some Led Zeppelin and some of these very really great. It was way too long for me though. Got a little bit stale after a while but if I listened to the two sides on different days I wouldn’t be disappointed. Good one.

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento
May 05 2024

This was suuuch a breath of fresh air. This thing is better than most overrated albums on this list. Seriously why dont we hear more stuff like this instead of the 9th Bowie or Dylan albums? Why do I have to listen to whole discographies instead of some actual hidden gems

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young
May 06 2024

70s rock love the shit out of this probably. Not really interesting for me. I don't like his voice that much. And I reeally dont like the fact that the vocals are so bad on this one. The bro always moves closer and farther from the mic.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
May 08 2024

A really vibey listen

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
May 10 2024

This kind of sounds like an AI generated album. He's not supposed to be singing to guitar tunes like this. And it's nothing original at all.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
May 11 2024

Didnt really click. I wish the beastie boys were a little less angry

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
May 12 2024

I dont know Toxicity was better in my opinion but this is still some solid numetal

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
May 13 2024

At first this sounded like Joana Newsom, but it didn't click that much for me. Man is suffering, at least that's what his singing voice tells me. And I can appreciate this one for what it is, but it's not going in my rotation

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
May 15 2024

nothing interesting for me

Hotel California by Eagles
May 16 2024

One of the best sounding records I've ever heard. But it's just that. I just don't like the crying rockerman ballads. Sorry dads

The Blueprint by JAY Z
May 17 2024

Maan i dont know I'm only gonna give it a strong 3. I love the man, but 2000s rap is just cheap sounding for me. The beats and flow are fire but it just has that specific 2000s sound that I really dislike

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
May 18 2024

I like this dude much more than Elvis. Very interesting prison live performance like what

May 20 2024

Crazy energy bomb. Loved it all the way through. Maybe the other album was better but that's mostly songs from this one so...

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
May 21 2024

At first I was like well this sounds like most of the 50s records I hear all the time, but by the end my mood got so much better. Thank you sir for the great music.

evermore by Taylor Swift
May 23 2024

I did enjoy this for like 10 songs. It sounds pretty, the lyrics are nice. Crazy what you can achieve with talented songwriters. And the folk sound of these two albums suit her voice so much better. She should do this instead of shitty albums like her latest midnights

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
May 24 2024

I expected a little more, but I could see myself listening again

Konnichiwa by Skepta
May 26 2024

This has a lot of very 2000s style beats. I kinda like that's not me, but I think his newer albums and features are muuch better. I don't think I can give it a 3 based on a lot of other albums I gave a 3 to. And I looove rap

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
May 27 2024

Not at the level of the first two but still a solid one

Different Class by Pulp
May 28 2024

Yeah i dont know. Britpop is really not for me.

Damaged by Black Flag
May 31 2024

I love early punk. This stuff is raw. Bro was ANGRY

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 01 2024

Sing about me is a MUST for anyone who loves rap, or music in general. Lots of good songs, but the 2000s hiphop sound that appears on many songs just reassures me that TPAB is THE k dot album and not this one.

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Jun 02 2024

I get the message but the disco late 80s music is not the way to send the message to the people

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Jun 03 2024

Not as bad as I thought but not too exciting. Low 3

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jun 04 2024

I just looove the 90s west coast sound. This is a timeless album that defined the sound for the funky hiphop albums to come after this for so many years. This one deserves a 5

Moon Safari by Air
Jun 05 2024

Sounds really ahead of its time. These french now some stuff about dance huh. low 4

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Jun 06 2024

Little all over the place. Sounds really good though

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jun 07 2024

I dont think it’s their best I just love Sister Ray too much and the nico album is just superior as well. Still some beautiful guitar play and just an easy to listen to record altogether.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Jun 08 2024

Really popular songs even today and kinda sounds like everything in the late 60s, but still a very enjoyable record

Quiet Life by Japan
Jun 09 2024

It had one pretty good song on it and it was definitely influential, but it didn't do much for me

Rocks by Aerosmith
Jun 10 2024

Listened to this after a few Led Zeppelin albums which makes this look not as good in comparison. Id rather listen to them but this one is solid too

1999 by Prince
Jun 11 2024

This was an again very funky record and as others said some songs are a little too long. This one has no reason to be a double lp. Other than that a really solid album. Not at the leve of Purple Rain

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Jun 12 2024

Lovely background music

The best ive heard from him so far but still not my thing

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Jun 16 2024

Oh how I wish this was recorded better :( But still a really fhn album with this many tracks and sitting at only 40 something minutes wow

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Jun 19 2024

Not enough groovin and a little all over the place but still an enjoyable 60s beatles wannabe album

Kenza by Khaled
Jun 20 2024

Cool to hear stuff like this but not for me

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Jun 21 2024

I mean wow. To listen to this with the high quality surround mix was crazy. I think it might not be at DSOTM level but still insane. Shine on you crazy diamond is a top of all time song objectively

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 22 2024

Jun 25 2024

This was suuuuch a good one. One of the best 80s album I've heard on this thing so far

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Jun 29 2024

Jun 30 2024

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jul 11 2024

Not as good as Doolittle but still amazing

Teen Dream by Beach House
Jul 12 2024

Firstly I forgot how amazing this album is. Secondly this one played a big part in forming my music taste very early on so I have to give it a 5 even if the second half is a little less perfect than the first tracks

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jul 13 2024

Ah the dramatic 80s. Amazong synths but maybe not as good as music for the masses. Idk

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Jul 17 2024

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Jul 20 2024

I gave too many dad rock albums 3s this one should get a 4. It was a fun listen

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Jul 22 2024

Masterpiece. It’s a shame we only got one album from her, but knowing her story I kind of wish this one wasn’t even born.

Jul 23 2024

Liked it, but maybe not as much as some of their other albums. I like the ones with more energy and distortion a bit more

Kimono My House by Sparks
Jul 24 2024

Pretty interesting and I can hear a lot of artists i listen to in them. Mustve been an inspo

Aug 10 2024

Pretty songs but not the most interesting for me. Cool one for a nice sunny day I guess

Suede by Suede
Aug 11 2024

I didn't think this was gonna be as good as it was. I didn't think I'd hear another good britpop song after so many not-so-good ones

Aug 14 2024

Aug 15 2024

A beautiful record. A little too rnb for me to give it 5 stars, but absolutely an amazing record

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Aug 17 2024

Aug 20 2024

Pretty enjoyable country pop record. Loved the first half. Not so much the second one

Aug 24 2024

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Sep 14 2024

Kinda random electronic music. Heard some much better ones on the list already. But it was okay as background noise for work

Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
Sep 15 2024

Is this “hard rock”? Come on. I don’t know there’s absolutely nothing this guy does better than anyone in the 80s or late 70s in the hair metal rock space. The hits have catchy ass choruses of course but even those songs are kinda unexciting for me. It also doesn’t sound too good. How is it that sooo many artists made amazing sounding records in the 70s but this one sounds pretty one dimensional? Anyways I don’t like the guy. Fidn’t hate listening to it tho, so it’s a strong 2

Cupid & Psyche 85 by Scritti Politti
Sep 16 2024

Kinda boring. Doesnt fit on the list

Sep 17 2024

This one is really up my alley, a solid 4. Reminded me of a lot of other artists i like

Sep 18 2024

I was sooo happy when I heard the first track. I thought maybe no theatrical stuff on this one, but I was wrong. Buut there was a nice balance between the harder rock and that stuff. This is the best I’ve heard from them so far.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Sep 19 2024

This one was soo good. Been a long time since I heard something this good on the list. Not THE strongest 5 star on my page but still I don’t think there’s a better reggae album coming up. Sounded much better than the last I heard from him. Maybe could’ve skipped the one slow track but all is good. A perfect way to spend 37 minutes

A really fun adventure

Vivid by Living Colour
Sep 24 2024

It was pretty fun, but I'm sure there are a lot of bands doing this but better

Oct 05 2024

It was a journey but it didnt amaze me

BEYONCÉ by Beyoncé

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Oct 16 2024

Good one but still pretty average for me

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg

Oct 20 2024

Not the most exciting female singer songwriter album i heard on here, but still a pretty listen

Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Nov 01 2024

This was really fun. For the first half a 4 but the latter a little lower. So a strong 3

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Nov 02 2024

If this were my childhood, I would've given it a 5 easily, but I only knew a few, so most of the songs were new to me. A lot of bangers and just long enough. A very strong 4 full of pop bangers

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Nov 13 2024

I like hating on the so called "best albums of all time" and I started this like that. the first 30 seconds hit me like oh this is insane. I looove it. But then later I realized that this is just not exactly for me. It is a very specific mood and the listen was absolutely a fun time. Not fillers on this one and in its genre and time this is of course one of THE best ones. I would for sure put it at 5 if it resonated with me more. I need to listen to this in like 10 years again. A very strong 5 for me

Among The Living by Anthrax
Nov 15 2024

Dont really like his voice and the music was a little 1d too.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Nov 16 2024

The Iron Maiden and ACDC 1980 albums were both better, but this is still good Metal

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Nov 17 2024

Not the most interesting stuff i heard on here, but enjoyable

Document by R.E.M.
Nov 18 2024

I liked this. But I dont think im gonna listen again, so a strong 3

Third by Soft Machine
Nov 20 2024

Wasnt that good. I like that it exists and it was mustve been pretty cool in the 70s, but I think a lot other bands since did this style better.

21 by Adele
Nov 21 2024

Shes an amazing singer and the album is produced to perfection, but none of the songs are particularly interesting. I liked Lovesong the most, but I think there are many more singer songwriter albums on this list. I could compare it to Amy’s album but won’t.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Nov 22 2024

I loved this shift in the Beach Boys’ style. Some very pretty tracks on this one

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Nov 23 2024

Dj Premier the goat and can’t discredit this album at all, but there have been a few better albums in the 90s. Many on this list too. Still I had fun 🙏

Public Image: First Issue by Public Image Ltd.
Nov 24 2024

Much more fun than I thought, but that Religion hate song was a little too much. Still I had fun, strong 3

1984 by Van Halen
Nov 25 2024

I like the runtime and I enjoyed it much better than I thought I would. Hair metal is really not my thing but I had fuun

Headquarters by The Monkees
Nov 26 2024

They were so behind the beatles. This one just wasnt very inetersting to me. Fiine, but a little boring

Caetano Veloso by Caetano Veloso

Dec 04 2024

Actually pretty fun. I liked it

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Dec 05 2024

I iiis all over the place, but individually all songs are actually pretty good

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Dec 06 2024

Well yea the intro song has been stuck in my head since the day i first heard it. Love this one

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Dec 08 2024

I like the idea, the idea is fun and i think almost all songs are like a good 3. I listened to disk 1 and it’s good background music. Nothing reeally exceptional, but then again this is not about that. It really captures the generic lovesong genre.

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Dec 09 2024

II think this was ahead of it’s time. The singing style is more 80s and this thing came out in 69 damn. I dont like the singing style tho. Instrumentals sound crisp and beautiful tho wow

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Dec 10 2024

This is really fuun. I love this era

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Dec 13 2024

This was a pretty good Arctic Monkeys album. You just can’t take Alex Turner out of the band, you can give it a different name, but it’s still kinda the same. Liked a bunch of songs tho. Low 4

Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear
Dec 14 2024

Even if I don’t look at the historical significance, this albums slaps. With the (probably remaster) I listened to, every instrument was clean, punchy just how a perfect raggae album would sound. This might even be better than Exodus. Gotta give both a re-listen

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Dec 15 2024

This is kinda like the most east coast sounding west coast hip hop album. Liked it very much, but maybe not as good as some others like the Wu Tang album, Doggystyle, Chronic and so on. Low 4

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Dec 16 2024

this one is a really interesting one

Feast of Wire by Calexico
Dec 18 2024

this was an awesome album. This is a perfect mix of latin music and indie rock.

Dec 19 2024

This was so much better than I thought. I thought Id skip this one after the first few songs but actually this just sounds really good. Low 4

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Dec 20 2024

I don't know this jsut doesn't sound that good to me. It's also a little late to the party. This could've been made in the 80s easily.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Dec 21 2024

I did enjoy this one but then again there are many better artists from this era who deserve his level of fame.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Dec 23 2024

One of the better Bowie albums. This might be the last one of his on the list. I came to like him more than I thought I would after listening to the 9 albums on the list. This one is a perfect one to close it off.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Dec 25 2024

This might be the best of him which is insane considering his insane carreer length. This might even be a 5 star one, but I’m gonna go with a hiiiigh 4

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Dec 26 2024

This was fun, and perfect for speeding through some work, but I don't think it's that good. Sounds a little cheesy, I think he's doing a little too much on the guitar and yea, but still I enjoyed listening to it. Strong 3

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 27 2024

This was a good time. Felt like I was at a campfire with the dude just listening to the man’s stories. He knows whats up

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Dec 28 2024

loved it front to back. I got suuucked in during the first 3 seconds of this one. No disco record is gonna beat this one im sure

Copper Blue by Sugar
Dec 29 2024

I couldn't imagine listening to this outside of a 90s rock (maybe grunge) playlist. There's nothing that would grip me it just sounds a bit worse than some of the time's greats. and HOW was it voted best album of 1992? Hello? Chronic, Dirty (Sonic Youth), the Cure album, but Pavement and Alice in chains would've all deserved it more

Kala by M.I.A.
Dec 30 2024

A very fun listen. I think it’s way ahead of its time and im glad she got as popular as she did

Tank Battles by Dagmar Krause
Dec 31 2024

This felt like listening to Abba in a fever dream at the beginning. then it changed to german

Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters
Jan 01 2025

I thought I’d like it more based on some of the reviews. It’s good but their clear influences are generally better

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Jan 02 2025

Pretty good, but I wouldn't compare him to the Beatles. Strong 3 low 4?

Jan 03 2025

This was pretty gooood. i liked it. It is a little long, but I just like the genre, so it wasn't a big deal. Still, It's only gonna be a stroong 3

#1 Record by Big Star
Jan 04 2025

Actually much better than i expected. It was a good listen, wouldn’t mind hearing it again, so low 4

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Jan 05 2025

This was really vibey. Made my mood better for the day.

Goo by Sonic Youth
Jan 06 2025

This might be my favorite sonic youth record. I think this one has the best production out of the "top" records (Sister and Daydream Nation), the fuzzy guitars and bass sound sooooo goood. I have to say this is kind of exactly my music taste so I can't go objective here, this is a 5 star album. Maybe not the strongest on the list, but I'd absolutely love to listen to this any day.

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jan 07 2025

i might just not get it but i didnt like it as much as some people on here.

Jan 08 2025

it was fiine, but I don't think this comes close to the prison lives. Bunch of covers too. Still, a strong 3

The Undertones by The Undertones
Jan 09 2025

This was pretty good. I think almost Clash level stuff. Strong 3

Jan 10 2025

I liked this much better than i thought I would. Based on the reviews i was expecting underwhelming stuff but I saved a lot of songs from this one. And Raekwon is amazing. Maybe a little bloated and all over the place but the beats are good the flows are niice. I liked it

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Jan 11 2025

This was fun. The first half has a lot of bangers and although I don't like the sound of 2000s pop, this was a fun listen

Faith by George Michael
Jan 12 2025

The production was really good, but it was not really my thing. Prince did it much better and this is a little too close to the 90s pop for my taste

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Jan 13 2025

maan i thought the who was supposed to be like early punk stuff. Yea this one isn’t it

Scum by Napalm Death
Jan 15 2025

I used to say I hate metal. But I'd much rather take this over a lot of modern stuff. I had fun okay?

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Jan 16 2025

This was a beautiful record. I loved all of it. Especially the songs with the choir behind him. I need to listen to this again and pay attention to the lyrics too

Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
Jan 17 2025

Not my thing and the lyrics ARE god awful at times

Clandestino by Manu Chao
Jan 18 2025

Ahh I loved the first half soooooo much. It would've been an easy 5 star, but the other half was a little bit less amazing. Still, I think it deserves to be among my other 5 star albums. Light 5

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Jan 19 2025

I had higher expectations for this, but I just didn't like it. Lot of Nirvana mentions, well no. Their demos even sound better

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Jan 20 2025

Not really my thing, but sounded okay? The singer sounded a lot like someone else I heard not too long ago

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Jan 21 2025

Sounded a lit like Kate Bush, but I might like this one a little bit more.

Bone Machine by Tom Waits
Jan 22 2025

I liked this one also much better than I thought I would, but even the first song got me like damn this is gonna be a different one. I actually heard a lot of captain beefheart influence in this one which is crazy.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Jan 23 2025

This is a pretty nice album. Little bit more raw than the Beatles albums which is nice. I think he's done as good of a job as one could, distancing himself from the group when creating a solo album.

Olympia 64 by Jacques Brel
Jan 24 2025

I dont know what he’s singing about, but I FELT it maan. This was really a breath of fresh air event amongst the 60s albums

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Jan 25 2025

Of course it doesn't really come close to the big Pixies Records, but still very enjoyable. If it wasn't for the loong tracklist I think it would get a 4 star rating, but as it is I think a 3 is more like it.

Atomizer by Big Black
Jan 26 2025

This is SOOO good. This one definitely influenced some of my favorites that came yeeears after this. I love Steve Albini's producer work too. It still sounds modern even today. Low 5 compared to some of my 5 star albums

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Jan 28 2025

Wasnt bad, but it was going nowhere a little bit. I don't think it's a 2 star album though, so low 3

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Jan 29 2025

This just sounds so generic. Nothing standing out from this one. I think some of the more “modern” albums just got here because either the author liked them or somehow the band paid him. No disrespect, I just don’t think this should’ve taken up a place from more influencial records

Rum Sodomy & The Lash by The Pogues
Jan 30 2025

a fun listen absolutely. Only a strong 3 just because i don't think I'll listen to this again in its entirety, but still worth listening to this one.

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
Jan 31 2025

This might be the only band on the list who I've seen live. Was very surprised to see these guys on here, but I'm really happy they included this one. I think they're really underrated. Some songs are reeeeally good and some are a little weaker. Still a veery solid 4. Might be a little biased tho :)

Shleep by Robert Wyatt
Feb 01 2025

Felt pretty shleepy

Smash by The Offspring
Feb 02 2025

I had a lot of fun. This is how pop punk should sound! Low 4 for this one. I hear a lot of Nirvana in it and it’s pretty basic stuff but still 47 minutes of nonstop fun

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Feb 03 2025

This was also pretty fun. Like a little weaker almost as good jack white project

Destroyer by KISS
Feb 04 2025

Oh this is not good

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Feb 05 2025

This was the flyest album I’ve ever heard. Timbaland is insane on this one. I didn’t really know or appreciate his work that much up to this point but this absolutely proves that he’s one of the best to ever do it. The mixing was insane too. This album that wants to sound like the 2000s sounds much better than most of the big albums in that era. Loved it front to back

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Feb 06 2025

The mix is sooooo thin oh my goood. It would be pretty good otherwise, but like this it's pretty unlistenable for me. Some good tunes here otherwise, but maan it hurts.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 07 2025

This went by like a breeze. It sounded pretty nice and I was getting a little bored with the 70s sound at this point, but this was soolid.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Feb 09 2025

This was maxied so well like woow. I think recording quality absolutely peaked in the 70s. About the album. Well this is a definitive one of the sound of the entire century and it's a solid one that's worth going back to I think.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Feb 10 2025

This was also very good. One of the best singer songwriter albums on the list so far.

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
Feb 11 2025

It was pretty different from what I expected, but i had fun. Don't think I'm gonna come back to this one, but still a strrooong 3

So by Peter Gabriel
Feb 12 2025

I really liked the sound of this one. Probably not gonna listen to it many more times, but can't give it a 3. Low 4 is a better fit.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Feb 13 2025

I probably wouldn’t say this one is as flawless as OKC or In Rainbows or KID A Amnesiac for that matter, but it’s still underrated in my opinion. It stands on it’s own. It has one of my all time favorite somgs There there and it’s just a banger at times. Low 5

Close To You by Carpenters
Feb 15 2025

It was okay, but nothing amazing. Good time, but never gonna listen again

Sincere by Mj Cole
Feb 16 2025

really all over the place and just not that interesting. Strong 2

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Feb 17 2025

🪘

The White Room by The KLF
Feb 18 2025

Ugh I don't like this 90s pop sound. Some of the good songs are only good because of their samples.

Melodrama by Lorde
Feb 19 2025

This is one of the best female pop vocal albums of the 2010s. I liked it just as much as back then

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott
Feb 20 2025

This kind of feels like a cover album. It doesn't have the weight of Dylan or Johnny Cash songs that would come later and also doesn't FOLK as much as Woody does. Low 3

I See You by The xx
Feb 21 2025

I like the XX very much but this wasn’t really an album that fits the list. It was nice on a sunny but chilly day, but compared to a lot of albums on here, it doesn’t reach that level. Still good

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Feb 22 2025

It’s cool that somebody tried this sound but I dont like the execution too much

Country Life by Roxy Music
Feb 23 2025

I thought it was gonna be better

2112 by Rush
Feb 24 2025

Not my thing at aaaall

The Slider by T. Rex
Feb 25 2025

If I had to listen to a Glam Rock record I wouldn't mind listening to this one. It was a fun listen and I might like the singing style of this guy more than Bowie

American Idiot by Green Day
Feb 26 2025

Liked mostly because of nostalgia but Dookie is better

Peter Gabriel 3 by Peter Gabriel
Feb 27 2025

Not bad but SO was immediately more interesting

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah
Feb 28 2025

a little weak compared to others in this era but enjoyable. low 3

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Mar 09 2025

Not my thing but this was pretty enjoyable strroong 3

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Mar 10 2025

Sounds a lot like White Stripes days. I think he has better solo albums by now but still i love the guy so what can you do

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Mar 11 2025

I like jazz more than blues i gotta say. Stroong 3 tho

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Mar 13 2025

This was a fun listen with lots of variety I dont think it matches up to the clash or the smiths but still a fuuun listen. Low 4

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 14 2025

First half was amazing. There was one song that I really didn’t like. But altogether you know it’s good

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
Mar 16 2025

I hate this era of pop sadly. Even the first track is like a 3 at best. I'm tempted to give this one a 1, but weak 2 is fine

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Mar 17 2025

I dont know It’s been a long time since I first heard this one and it still is an amazing journey to listen front to back. I own it on vinyl and I think everyone should listen to this with the volume up High so you can hear all the layers. I tried listening on a lower volume and it just doesn’t hit the same. I love it for what it is so much. Easy 5. Sometimes is my favorite track right now.

Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma
Mar 18 2025

Don't think I'm gonna be returning tp this one too many times but it was a crazy journey. Loved it.

Phrenology by The Roots

This is pretty good. So some 2000s rap records are actually good wow. Light 4

Machine Head by Deep Purple

See? Dad rock can be good I just have to be in the mood for it. Wanted to give it a low 4 but I had a lot of fun so a good 4

Justified by Justin Timberlake
Mar 22 2025

This sounds like the dreams of that guy in my calculus class when he’s the cool main character 😎 I haate the 2000s pop sounds even if this was produced by legends i just reaally dislike it. And Justin was cringe in eveery song maan

Electric by The Cult
Mar 23 2025

All songs are the same and some of the instruments sound like they were recorded with a cheap VST. But it 1987 huh?

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Mar 24 2025

This was pretty cool and a good one for studying and a nice walk too. Liittle long with the 3 and a half hour runtime but who cares. Strong 3

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Mar 25 2025

Vibey listen but not really memorable

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Mar 26 2025

It was pretty good but it’s an era with hiphop before the Golden age of rap. I love jazz rap in this era so much more. Still cant deny its influence

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Mar 27 2025

This was pretty weak. I HAAATED the first song thought id give it a 1 but then it got better thankfully. Still find his voice annoying. It is worth a very weak 3 though

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Mar 28 2025

A Reeeeally cool listen and its still insane to me how a recording from 1968 can sound this good even if its a remaster like wooow

Timeless by Goldie
Mar 29 2025

Wanted to rate it a 2 at first but I started vibing a little by the end of it. The list should have better dnb albums but it’s always nice to work while listening to these

It's crazy that they only have one album. But what an album omg. I really wish it was recorded better but hey that's punk for you. The Who don't come close to this at all. None of the other UK punk bands for that matter

Mar 31 2025

It's insane that this came out when it did. 21st century might be the best prog rock song ever recorded. I didn't like all of the songs as much as that, but still this is an amazing album. Weak 5 or strong 4, it changes.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Apr 01 2025

I have to accept that Talking Heads just isn't my thing. It was still a fun time

25 by Adele
Apr 05 2025

Just boring. She could do soo many better songs. I found one good song again

Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Apr 06 2025

This sounds like a band practice at the parents’ house where the mom already told them to be more quiet 2 times…. I wouldn’t say this is lo-fi it’s just lo-effort

Apr 07 2025

This was such an amazing listen. Some of the COOLEST music I've ever heard in my life. I loved Four Cornered Room the most I think. I want to Own this on vinyl!!!!

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Apr 08 2025

started out a high 3 but got pretty stale

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys

This was a reeeally good record. I love this sound. Loved the samples and almost everything about it. There are some stronger, some weaker tracks, but all around i is at least a low 5

Fly Or Die by N.E.R.D
Apr 14 2025

I didnt like it as much as I though I would. Still dont like the 2000s. It was interesting, but I don't think I'll revisit. Didn't leave a big impression on me

Yeezus by Kanye West
Apr 15 2025

I love how original this sounded and it still stands its place. I would probably rate it a 5, but I don't think it's as good as MBDTF, so I'm gonna keep it a hiiigh 4. Love this one. Get the volume up, set the bass high and just enjoy it!!

Mask by Bauhaus
Apr 16 2025

Sounded a little bit like Joy Division just not as good.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Apr 17 2025

An amazing album that proves to me that some classic rock albums ARE deserving of their praise. Some songs are clearly a 10/10, but in its entirity I think a strooong 4 is right for my taste

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Apr 18 2025

Pretty good New Wave album but got repetitive after a few tracks

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Apr 19 2025

They butchered Shook Ones :(((((((( I haate this style in the 90s. So annoying

Solid Air by John Martyn
Apr 20 2025

I was thinking a lot about what to give this one, but after listening to the deluxe, I have to say this is amazing. Every song was pretty much great. It was just varied enough to not get boring and it had a LOT to offer. A bunch of different vibes and genres mixed together. I like his voice and the MIXING omg its so good. Low to mid 5 easily

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Apr 21 2025

I can clearly hear some influences but i dont think this is a good mix. Its okay for background listening. Low 3

Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Apr 23 2025

Pretty Boring. Sounded like Norah Jones if she wasnt good.

Better than what ppl said on here but nothing eextra like his son. Solid 3

Opus Dei by Laibach
Apr 27 2025

little scary

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Apr 28 2025

This could've been a 4 easily if it was just a little shorter. More like half as short, but still there are some amazing songs to be found here. Glad I listened to the whole thing

Achtung Baby by U2
Apr 29 2025

Not very good. Wanted to give it a 2 but it's not even bad enough. Just bland. Radiohead a few years later took everything good about U2 and just used that to create a muuch better sound. I think they're waay overrated.

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Apr 30 2025

On one hand not on the level of Massive Attack or similar Electronic 90s ppl, but also not Call of The Valley. Not my favorite, but an interesting listen.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
May 01 2025

Not his best, but I'm not a lyrics guy, so I'm not the best one to ask on this one. Still, I like the guy, so at least a 3

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
May 02 2025

Nothing very exciting, but not bad at all

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
May 03 2025

This is a little too upbeat for me. I love MBP, but I think the 70s hit much better for me. Started her other album Elis and Tom and I think I might give that a 5. This is a mid to low 4 for me.

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood
May 04 2025

Enjoyed my time with it, but its an early 80s sound that I just dont love as much as some others that sound like this. Still, an easy 3

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
May 05 2025

This couldve been a single album, had no real reason to be a double. I ofc liked Hurt, Candyman and a bunch of others, but not really gonna revisit it much. Not my favorite singing style. Still a stronger 3

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
May 06 2025

I briefly listened to them back in high school when we were trying to sound like these guys, but I didn't listen to the whole thing. Probably only the Just Like Heaven cover most of the time. This is an amaziong project. The recording quality ofc is ass, but I don't think it would hit the same if it was mastered perfectly. A really cool no-miss project that I think is a really unique one. I don't think I'm gonna give it a 5 just because of the mixing and sound inconsistency, but I love this one. Finally a great album like this.

White Light by Gene Clark
May 07 2025

Not american enough to like country, hes also not dylan so

May 08 2025

This was a fun one. Love the sound they were going for. Still only a strong 3 because there's no standout track on it. I only love the sound, not any specific track.

Okay, The Cure might be one of my top 5 favourite artists of all time after this. This was amazing.

Da Capo by Love

A fine time. Nothing extra exciting but still okay

In Rainbows by Radiohead
May 12 2025

There aren't many better ways to spend 45 minutes in this life than this. Also Disk 2 is amazing as well

May 13 2025

Little too glam rock for me but there's a lot to love on this one

The Band by The Band
May 14 2025

This is one of the best late 60s Country Rock albums I've ever heard. Lovely mix and sound throughout. Not gonna revisit it too often, but definitely deserves the love

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
May 15 2025

This one was SOO much fun wow. I'm always sceptical of the newer additions to the book, since some of them sound like they paid to get added to the collection, but this one belongs here i think. Fun, great sounding and just short enough to not get repetitive. I would maybe rate it a low 5, but high 4 has to do

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
May 17 2025

What the hell? This thing is so damn cool. Loved how it mixed a BUUNCH of styles and they executed all pretty well. The mix was all over the place which is a little distracting ngl, but still this is one of the best albums I've heard on the list that I didn't know before. Loved the tribe appearance, loved the instrumental songs too. Damn

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
May 18 2025

Still dont like his voice that much and although I enjoyed listening to it, I don't think I'll come back. Still, strong 3

xx by The xx
May 19 2025

An amazing album and I would've definitely rated it a 5 back in high school in that sad teen times, but not now. It still deserves it's place here and it's an easy 4

Slipknot by Slipknot
May 22 2025

Love the energy, but I still don't like the genre too much. Very high 3, but not quite a 4 for me

L.A. Woman by The Doors
May 23 2025

This was a huuge vibe. It might be a tad too long, but I just had fun with almost every track. An amazing record, but I don't think it's too original. I hope most of the stuff wasn't just straight up stolen, but still, can't help but vibe with this one.

Bummed by Happy Mondays
May 25 2025

Could be my thing, but it just didn't hit

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
May 26 2025

That was a weird one. I liked the other Fall album that i heard, but this one is just more annoying than good even for me

American Gothic by David Ackles
May 27 2025

Pretty damn bad. Not my thing

Bossanova by Pixies
May 28 2025

Loved this one. Maybe not as good as Doolittle. I think this one has a few skips but some insane bangers too. I think i liked the first 2 tracks the most. Very strong 4

May 29 2025

Pretty cool album, a little too close to psych and prog rock for me. Best song is by far the 4th one Doo Doo chasers. Loved that one, but overall I think Maggot Brain is much better. I would give this one a mid 4. Still loved it

Queen II by Queen
May 30 2025

I liked it better than I thought I would, but maan I still dont like glam rock. I think it’s way too extra and too much in a bad way for me. Then again this one is better than night at the opera for me as it’s a liiittle less theatrical. Bit more noisy, which makes it the best of theirs for me so far. Enough guitar solos for me for a week too. Let’s give it a weeeeak 4

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
May 31 2025

This as i can see from the comments is a divisive album. I finally am in the group that loves the album. Didn't take too long to realize that Bjork is on this one, and I think she made this one shine. And I'm really glad I could also recognize the similarity to B-52s. I don't think that this is any worse than them. I loved the themes, the instrument sounds and of course the Icelandic girlie's voice on this one. I want to listen again in the future for sure

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Jun 01 2025

Loved every second. I think I'll rate it a high 4, but this one deserves a 5 as well.

Jun 04 2025

I almost like this as much as Neermind and In Utero. There are 2 weaker songs for me on the project, but all of the others hit reeeeal hard. I love grunge in this era. Some songs sound very similar, but shit i like that song

A Wizard, A True Star by Todd Rundgren
Jun 05 2025

I decided, I don't like the guy. Gotta do more LSD for this one. I don't hate it for the most part, but it was pretty annoying at times. I remember liking Something/Anything a bit better than this :(

GREY Area by Little Simz
Jun 06 2025

I might still like Sometimes I might be more, but this was a really cool one as well. Darker, but still amazing flow and lyrics. SHe might be today's Lauryn Hill

american dream by LCD Soundsystem
Jun 07 2025

Yeah most of this is just ass. Many other artists wouldve deserved this spot. I liked the opening track and thats about it. I think since they established a style back then, other artists have perfected it and elevated it while they’re not just stuck in their past, but also made it spmehow worse. I think it’s mostly just boring and only sometimes annoying tho, so i can’t give it a bad 2. It’s a veery low 3 for me

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Jun 08 2025

This is an amazing album. I just have nothing bad to say about it. All tracks are very good, no skips at all. I loved Dummy by Portishead, and this one is pretty close to that trip-hop sound. I think this is more easy to listen to, much less dark, so I think they go together really well. Solid 5

Jun 09 2025

I of course hated some of the lyrics but thats kind of the point i guess? It's leaning closer to the 2000s hiphop sound, which I don't really like. Some songs are amazing, I'd say 4-5 of the 18. I get it, he's a storyteller and there are a bunch of characters, and all... Not really my thing. Some dre beats are of course really good, but this didn't make me like the guy more. Maybe a higher 3 because of the bangers, but I have no motivator to listen to the whole thing in full ever again

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Jun 11 2025

Didn't think Damon Albarn was chill like that. This was a good surprise. Have to listen again.

Jun 12 2025

Good one, some great parts, but a liittle too proggy for me. Weak 4 i think

Jun 14 2025

This was much better than I thought. Loved it waay better than The Wall. Maybe Animals and DSOTM are better, because they are more Pink Floyd, but this is still good. It also sounds insanely good for 67 woow.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Jun 15 2025

I mean what can I say, a good ass time

Arise by Sepultura
Jun 16 2025

Pretty damn boring, but thats just my taste talking. It wasn't bad at all. It's just not an exciting sound for me. There are absolutely amazing metal records, but this one just doesn't do anything special for me. Low 3

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Jun 17 2025

This is the definite VU album. Loved every minute. Venus in Furs is incredible and it’s insane that these songs were made in 67 amongst the beatles and beach boys. I’ll always cherish the memory of hearing heroine randomly playing at a Warhol popup museum when i was in Croatia. Easily a 5 star

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Jun 18 2025

I'm just not the French Industrial rock typa dude you know?

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Jun 19 2025

I have to listen to this again. I'm on the fence here. I think this sounds like just the thing i like, but it's just not there. It sounds exactly like what I love, but it's a little too long, not many catchy tunes, I don't know. I'm gonna give it a 3. Might change my mind later.

Synchronicity by The Police
Jun 20 2025

Overrated thats all i can think about. I heard one other good song on this one, but Every Breath is so much above everything else on the album it’s insane. Some songs just dont belong on it AT ALL. mid 3

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jun 21 2025

There's no killing moon on this one. Altogether a fine post-punk album. Not amongst the best in my opinion, but it was a fine listen. Mid 3

Jun 23 2025

A pleasant listen. Nothing very exciting without the movie, but still an awesome score.

Done By The Forces Of Nature by Jungle Brothers
Jun 24 2025

I’m glad i listened to this one as it’s probably important. I heard De La and Tribe called quest mentioned so many times I was just wishing i was listening to them instead. Qtip came on on one song too that was cool. I don’t know, the lyrics were unexpected for me, but kinda funny and sometimes just positive stuff which is nice, but you know a little too positive? Also the mixing was all over the place. Loved the samples tho. High 3 i think.

Hysteria by Def Leppard
Jun 26 2025

This might be the best glam/hair rock album I've heard so far. It was just fuun from beginning to end. Still not my thing so only a 4, but I wouldn't mind listening to it again. Strrrong 4 tho

Jun 27 2025

This was pretty nice. The one guy said it goes from annoying to pretty. That is exactly true. I think this is nowhere near Norah Jones, but still very pretty sounds. Stroooong 3

Jun 28 2025

Pretentious sounding mf. Not too bad, but the in studio, but also live setting is a bit weird. Bass player is insane of course. Loved the bass sounds throughout. Altogether it's not better than a 3 tho

Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
Jun 29 2025

I could get into this but im in not in a weird music typa vibe rn so not today

LP1 by FKA twigs
Jun 30 2025

Flume could've made this a little more extra. I like the experimental sounds, don't really like the lyrics. She has a good voice and the instrumentals are also pretty I just found it a little boring still. I think Eusexua is much better. Liked that one way more.

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Jul 01 2025

This was a fun college rock lp. Just long enough. The mixing is what it is, but it adds to the vibe. Loved it.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Jul 02 2025

This was a really good surprise. I like grunge, I like his voice. Some songs' lyrics were weird but I still HAVE TO listen to this one again

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Jul 03 2025

This is just teen streaming show music. Not offensive at all, also not really interesting. Was fine background music tho.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Jul 04 2025

I always wanted to listen to them. Not my everyday listening type of album but I had a lot of fun listening to it

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jul 05 2025

This is not really what I thought it would be. Some arrangements are veery easy 10/10s. And I thought it would be just a bunch of bangers and instrumental hiphop. But this is an eletronica record with a little bit of trip-hop. And also I was very surprised by melodies coming back one or two songs later. It's like the whole project is trying to capture the art of creating music based on samples. In this context, it could be a 5/5, I know it's significance, i know it's influence, but I still don't want to listen to it all day every day. I love Massive Attack and Portishead much more in this era, they did trip-hop much better in my opinion. Still it's an easy 4/5 for me

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jul 06 2025

Dude's good for christmas vibes but one of the most one dimensional singers I know.

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Jul 08 2025

This sounds like a mix of velvet underground and bob dylan. It's not bad by any means, but at the end of the day I'd rather listen to either of them instead of this one.

Casanova by The Divine Comedy
Jul 09 2025

So not my thing. The dude looks like thom yorke. Too bad he isn't tho

War by U2

Yeah u know guitars are guitaring. I like that. But it's just not that good.

Real Life by Magazine
Jul 12 2025

It was interesting to read about this and it sounded pretty damn good for being one of the first post-punk joints. I liked it, but I like what spanned from it even more. Lower 4

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jul 13 2025

This was a really fun record. Glad I listened. Grooved all the way through my commute.

Doolittle by Pixies
Jul 14 2025

God i love this record. This is pretty much as flawless as an album can be

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jul 18 2025

Oh this was a banger honestly. I’m tempted to give it a 5, but i think i’ll stick to a veery high 4. It’s just amazing early electronica. Had a blast at work listening to this one

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Jul 19 2025

This one is a preeetty album. I like Nick Drake very much when I’m in the mood. And I was today, so easy 4

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Jul 20 2025
Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jul 21 2025

For what it is, it's a 5. Maybe not as good as What's goin on, but very close to it. Looved the rhythm section. Maybe not a big fan of the huge orchestra, but as a soundtrack this shit slaps

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jul 22 2025

I don't really have nothing to say about this. It's that middle of the road for me. Eillen song is catchy, but nothing else stands out at all.

Live At Leeds by The Who
Jul 23 2025

The original tracklist version is not even on apple music by itself. I think if I listened to that only it could've been closer to a 5. Still, this is a pretty cool live album I have to say. Not THE best ever in my opinion, but damn, they can play.

Tago Mago by Can
Jul 24 2025

Halleluwah was the first song that I heard from them (a different, much shorter version) and i loved that song so much even at 16 years old. Now, 8 years later I still think Can is one of the best bands from the era. The first half of this is straight bangers. The transition from the first song to Mushroom might be one of the best song transitions I've ever heard. Thing is if it wasn't for the change into weirdness from Aumgm, it would be an easy 5. Like this, I think I'll give it a 4. Ege might be better

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Jul 25 2025

was okay, kinda interesting at points but nothing major

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Jul 26 2025

Not my thing. But also didnt hate it. Very low 3

Odelay by Beck
Jul 27 2025

There were some fun things on this one. Probably not gonna be one of my favorites. I didn't really click with it as much as I thought I would based on who did the extensive sampling on this one, but still glad i listened

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Jul 28 2025

This is some proper ass water. I hated the bass sound, the vocalist sounded like he had an annoying accent. I was like woah finally a good song? Nah its just a cover of an amazing song.

My Generation by The Who
Jul 29 2025

I mean there’s nothing much better by 65 in the popular rock scene. Most of these are like covers of black musicians’ amazing works, but can’t deny shit slaps

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Jul 30 2025

im not weird enough for this yet. feel like i got fucked up at a carnival

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Aug 01 2025

One of the best records I've ever heard. Love the voice of her and I'll continue listening to it for years. Glad I'm able to listen to stuff like this in this day and age.

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Aug 02 2025

Eh, not too bad, but SZA just does it so much better, that I just really don't see any point in ever listening to this again.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Aug 03 2025

Maan this was a banger. How does it sound so gooood

Parklife by Blur
Aug 04 2025

I gave it two chances. There was only One song i loved, which was Clover Over Dover. The others were also okay, but I didnt LOVE the album.

Protection by Massive Attack
Aug 05 2025

Not as good as their two top albums, but still i love the genre, so I had a good time

A Short Album About Love by The Divine Comedy
Aug 06 2025

Wanted to hate it, but the guitar work is so smooth and nice on some tracks. Also not my thing, but had fun. I want love songs to be like this not the 80s pop drama

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Aug 08 2025

I feel like i shouldve liked this better than i did. I think Clint Eastwood has all the quirks and uniqueness that the album has. The laid-back vibe, cheap sounding instruments, not taking stuff too seriously. I don’t think the rest of the album holds the attention that well. I think a single lp could’ve been better. Their later work is much more appealing to me, but still this is a good album, just not as much for me as i thought

Tragic Songs of Life by The Louvin Brothers
Aug 09 2025

They were prolly racist, idk. Funky ass lyrics couldnt save this one for me

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Aug 10 2025

This was pretty fun! I dont think I'll save stuff from this album, but it's definitely a fun time. Glad I listened. Strooong 3

Yank Crime by Drive Like Jehu
Aug 11 2025

This was pretty damn good. Reminded me very much of Slint and I loove spiderland, so naturally i liked this one as well. Maybe a 5 is a little too much, but shit it was amazing

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Aug 12 2025

Preetty stuff. I was missing some Velvet Underground and the found out, who played the indtruments for the songs. They did show themselves on a few songs. I think this is definitely Nico at her best. They really are a great combo on both this and the banana

Leftism by Leftfield
Aug 14 2025

Eh

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Aug 15 2025

Insanely groovy. A little bit too long, but still I looved it. What's with these movie soundtracks from these amazing artists? I think it deserves a 5 despite the length

Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver
Aug 16 2025

This was fiine. Nothing special, i dont think it deserves the space, but absolutely listenable. Low 3

Private Dancer by Tina Turner
Aug 17 2025

I don't really like her voice. Also, her cover of I can't stand the rain was atrocious. She really butchered the original, which is one of the best soul songs ever recorded. Looow 3

Aug 18 2025

This was about what I expected based on who made it, and the cover. Weird stuff, but it's amazing to hear how sampling existed even before it got mainstream.

Let It Be by The Replacements
Aug 19 2025

This was pretty fun. Mixing couldve been better, but I’m looking forward to hearing more from them

Picture Book by Simply Red
Aug 20 2025

Not bad at all but nothing major for me

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Aug 21 2025

Eh, nothing stands out. It was fun, but very one dimensional

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Aug 22 2025

Have to listen to her stuff again. I dont know if i like this or the other more

Sulk by The Associates
Aug 23 2025

asswater

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Aug 24 2025

An amazing album, honestly at first I thought it's pretty close to In Utero, but by the end I guess not. Nevertheless I loved the sound of it. I find albini's production to be a little inconsistent throughout the album, but it still manages to capture the essence of each song. Did not pay that much attention to the lyrics, but what i heard was pretty damn good. So I think this is either a stroooong 4 or a low 5. I think after first listen I'm gonna give it a 4, but I JUST might change it later

Berlin by Lou Reed

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Sep 13 2025

Solid album by him again. I like this dude’s misic. Maybe not as good as the one with the cool album art but still, loved listening to this

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Sep 19 2025

This was good but her blue album was even better. Love me some Joni Mitchell

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Sep 20 2025

Maan this album is good. I would rate it a 5 just for the influence and the lyricism, but I have a standard for 5, where I only give albums a 5, that I could listen to any day. And this is a little further from my taste. I like Paul Simon’s solo stuff a little better too i think.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Sep 21 2025

Had to listen to this twice to rate it. It’s a really fun time from start to finish. For people who can connect some memories to this one, it can definitely be a 5 star record. For me it’s a solid 4

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Sep 22 2025

i did not find this interesting at all. I would not want to listen to this again. His other albums on here are much better

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Sep 24 2025

Maan if it wasnt for the random sex noises and questionsble lyrics… I really dont know if I should give it a 4 or 5. If I look at the Rap Albums i have at 5, I think of all of them as flawless. This, while having some of the best Hiphop songs ever recorded, is not flawless sadly. If I could cut the weird lines, noises, Puff out of the record it would be a 10/10

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Sep 26 2025

Yeah, it’s a 5. Not sure if it’s his best anymore though.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Sep 27 2025

It’s an amazing album. It sounds perfect too. Still, I struggle to find songs on here that I’ll definitely come back to. Loved it, but don’t think I’ll listen to it often

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Sep 28 2025

Yea this is the good Iggy Pop. With the help of all the people who worked on this album. This is pretty close to a masterpiece

Sep 29 2025

Yeah the theme is not the best, but still. This started west coast hip hop and gave us dr dre, so there’s nothing to complain about. I dont think it’s close to the strongest record yet, so i think it’s a good 4. A few years later the chronic and doggystyle are 10/10 albums

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Sep 30 2025

Maybe not as good as their two next albums, but still a gooood time. Almost a 5 for me

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Oct 02 2025

This sounds so good. I don’t remember it sounding so damn crisp. Just the right length for the whole record too. Autobahn was a little too much for me with the 10 minute songs, but this is just banger after banger. I’d say it’s the most 10/10 bleep bloop music

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
Oct 03 2025

I mean its pretty interesting and also well recorded. But you know most of the songs are covers thats mainly why they sound so good, so I dont think I can give it too high of a rating. This was fun, would love to listen again, but its a high 3

One World by John Martyn
Oct 04 2025

Man i dont get why ppl are hating on this guy this much. I love his vibes. That said, Solid Air is miles better in my opinion. This might just be a strong 3 for me. Maybe low 4

Sex Packets by Digital Underground
Oct 06 2025

The way this started maan idk its just a weird one. High 2 I guess?

Oct 07 2025

Yeah. The mixing is pretty good, the musicians are absolutely talented and all, but still. This has so many clear inspirations that at most points I’d rather listen to the said inspirations. I bet a lot of people love this album and I can’t blame them. It sounds nice, is a complete album with nice variety. I just don’t think I have anything on here to make me come back to this ever.

Oct 08 2025

I’m not there yet. I might love this as a 70 year old man with a long ass beard doing yoga on a sunday morning, but as I said… Not there yet. Sounds amazing tho.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Oct 09 2025

I dont think this was nearly as good as Purple Rain, or maybe even 1999. He’s great on here again of course, but I think the length is just way too much. I also don’t think it’s as coherent as some of his other projects. Loow 4

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Oct 10 2025

This might be one of the best albums I’ve heard from the era, at least from white guys, but maan I just can’t help but feel like all of these songs were stolen from artists, who sung it even better. I’m gonna give it a 3, because I enjoyed it, but I have a sour taste in my mouth.

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Oct 11 2025

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Oct 20 2025

there are some huge bangers on this one. I like the guy’s voice. Maybe morning glory is better? This is also a mid 4 album for sure

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Oct 21 2025

Heaven or LV had better songs in my opinion. This was a little too trippy for me. Absolutely beautiful soundscapes, but I need a little more to enjoy their music.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Oct 22 2025

This was good, but it didn’t hit hard enough. I had very high expectations for this one and the Bowie production shows, but I’d rather take at least 3 other Velvet Underground albums over this one if I was looking for some Lou Reed. I’ll give it a low 4 because I’m pretentious.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Oct 23 2025

I don’t want to lie and say i did not enjoy this. This genre is fun sometimes, but Glam Metal is just a weird genre to me. I had fun, so I’d give it a 4, but the machine drums, my god… I’ll definitely scratch off a point for not using real drums :(

Love the experimenting with a lot of different sounds. I dont think I’ll be returning, but I’m glad I listened. There’s better 60s psychedelic out there

The Colour Of Spring by Talk Talk
Oct 26 2025

Yeah, it’s not the most interesting one for me, but I didn’t hate it at all. Low 3 i think.

I See A Darkness by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Oct 27 2025

There were many dark, depressive albums that I heard growing up that hit harder than this one and do everything better. Mount eerie/Microphones, Teen Suicide, etc. Might have to revisit tho?

Oct 28 2025

This is really a Genre that’s mostly a miss for me. I don’t really like theatrical rock at all. Too much piano and overly dramatic singing is off-putting to me most of the time. Not really for me, but this one? Well… This is a little different. There were like 2 songs which should’ve been cut, but other than that, this was an amazing listen. The songwriting and the production are insane on this one. Can’t bash Elton’s piano play and singing either. This is a bop. Low 5.

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Oct 29 2025

Hasn’t really left a big impression on me. Was vibing with one song, but overall pretty mid

The White Album by Beatles
Oct 31 2025

I wanted to be a hater for this one really bad. I love the Beatles, but so far I never had this album in my top 3-4 records by them. It IS much better than I thought it would be. I'd still rate it maybe their 4th best, and it does have a lot of fillers, but it has to be at least a very high 4

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Nov 01 2025

Man I love the Cure. I’m probably just trying to be different, but I honestly think this is their best. Love the dark vibes of this one. Have it on a scratched Vinyl

Fishscale by Ghostface Killah
Nov 02 2025

I was sceptical of the release date 2006, since i do not like 2000s hiphop, but I thought, hey. If anything would convince me otherwise it would be a Wu tang project. And yea, i loved most of this. Especially the first half. Some songs (bonus ones?) sound more like 2000s rap joints, but most of the record comes off more like a 90s record, which I love. Crazy rhymes, and lots of bangers.

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Nov 03 2025

Sounded amazing. Covers, so csnt give it. much. Mid 3. Did not hate it at all.

Sister by Sonic Youth
Nov 04 2025

Schizophrenia is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded in my opinion. Altogether it’s undeniably Sonic Youth. I like their sound. I’d listen to this one any day. Still, I think they have stronger records, so it’s a strong 4 for me

Nov 05 2025

This was a fun listen. I dont want to over-compliment the beatles at this point, but man the guy can write. Standout track: Cold Turkey which is not even on the standard album but it’s a banger

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Nov 06 2025

Had way too much fun with this one. Still never gonna look for this genre on purpose. Low 4

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Nov 07 2025

So boring man. First song is of course iconic, but even that’s boring

Eagles by Eagles
Nov 10 2025

This was reeeally good. I think this is a better one than their Hotel Calironia record. It sound amazing for its age and I think there aren’t any skips on it. Want to revisit, listen again to this one.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Nov 11 2025

didnt hate it. Love my way is their only banger song so far and its not on this one tho. Low 3

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Nov 12 2025

it’s insane that this was created when it was created but I probably will never listen to it again so it’s not getting a higher number than 3 from me

Was a 3 in the beginning, got down to a low 2 by the end

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Nov 14 2025

Live! by Fela Kuti
Nov 15 2025

This was amazing. Loved the drum sounds throughout. Songs are a little on the longer side, but I don’t think it hurts the enjoyment of the record. Would’ve loved to experience the energy live.

Faust IV by Faust
Nov 16 2025

Yeah, I’m weird but not this weird. I prefer the CAN kind of Krautrock

Soul Mining by The The
Nov 17 2025

Yeah, I don’t like the genre too much. Maybe this is where it shows that I wasn’t alive during the 80s

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Nov 18 2025

Loved the record, but couldn't pay attention to the lyrics. I think Stevie requires full attention to listen to, so I have to listen again to properly love it. It is a 5 though for sure, maybe a lower one for now

Nov 19 2025

Didn’t have as much fun with it as Superfly, but an awesome laid-back record. (with some strong and sadly still relevant lyrics)

With The Beatles by Beatles
Nov 20 2025

This is Beatles before the beatles. Not really original at all. Some songs sound like covers too. The vocals on this one remind me a lot of Beach Boys and they definitely did it better. I want to give it a 3, but it’s still better than most 3s I’ve given out so, idk strong 3

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Nov 21 2025

Might not be THE best hardcore punk ever, but loads of fun. Enjoyed every minute. Low 4

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Nov 22 2025

It’s a little too much Nick Cave at this point. If this album is not even in the top 10 of his based on major publications’ lists on the guy, it should not be among the 1001 best of the best

Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev
Nov 23 2025

Tried to get into it, but couldn’t

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Nov 24 2025

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this one. A masterpiece

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Nov 26 2025

Not among the trip-hop GOATs, but a solid one to work to. I’m glad this genre is pretty well represented here. Strong strong 3

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Nov 27 2025

I too expected a little more from this. Fleetwood Mac can definitely not make bad music, but this was not a focused record. Lots of way different ideas without any cohesion in sound or lyrics. Sounds amazing, some easy 10/10 songs, but altogether a mid to low 4 star

Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart
Nov 28 2025

It’s okay, probably never gonna listen to it again, but hey.

Third/Sister Lovers by Big Star
Nov 29 2025

There are some annoying voices on this list but gah damn. And I liked their album #1 record. Hated this one though

Tapestry by Carole King
Nov 30 2025

I liked it, but I couldn’t get as into it as people seem to be. I’d say I love the likes of Joni Mitchell much more. Low 4, but I have to listen again

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Dec 02 2025

At first i kinda thought i wouldnt like this one, but this is still prime dylan. Like a rolling stone is one of his best, but there are a few more awesome songs on this one too.

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Dec 09 2025

Honestly, better than i expected, but there’s better stuff in this genre

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Dec 16 2025

This does not deserve to be here. It’s the Most mid album I’ve heard so far after 874 albums. Couldn’t finish it

Homework by Daft Punk
Dec 17 2025

Was vibing all the way through. Very influencial record even if their other two albums are better.

Dec 18 2025

Honestly i had a feeling i’d like this one, but it really is better than i expected it to be. Not a huge 80s new wave fan, but this is a bop.

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Dec 19 2025

A little dirtier Oasis with worse sound quality and a little worse songwriting. Low 3

Vespertine by Björk
Dec 20 2025

I might not want to listen to Björk all day every day, but this album is one of the most butiful collection of songs I’ve ever heard

Third by Portishead
Dec 21 2025

Maybe not as good as their first two, but propa to them for steering away from their usual sound.

Technique by New Order
Dec 22 2025

Maan this might even be better than the Low life record. This sounds like peak 80s with only a sprinkle of the 90s. Most of it was pretty damn amazing, but new wave is still not my favorite genre, so I’m gonna stick with a strong 4

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Dec 23 2025

Winter In America by Gil Scott-Heron
Dec 26 2025

Loved this one of course. Curious to hear what else this guy's done

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jan 02 2026

This is an album by Bob Dylan that I think shows and highlights the fact that he's just not that good of a singer. I'm not a lyrics person, but I think they would've shined and impressed me a bit more if the songs were performed by somebody else. I love all of his earlier records, and close to none after this one. Mid 3

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Jan 03 2026

Perfect album for a snowy afternoon walk. Minus 1 point bc of whitemaninthe50s though

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Jan 04 2026

Interesting, but they're no daft punk that's for sure. I don't think this should be on the list. That being said, i liked the tunes mostly, so low 3

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jan 05 2026

Maan i loved this so much. I miss iconic shit like fast n bulbous, but this one is one of the best records from 67 that's for sure.

Repeater by Fugazi
Jan 06 2026

This was an amazing sounding record. I thought it would be a more unique sound, since I saw this album everywhere and was expecting something different, but still, would love to listen again. Low 4 initially

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jan 07 2026

I just really don't like this type of metal. It's clean, I haaate this kick sound, and the mix is a little claustrophobic for me. I'm okay with this being in the background, but I just can't score it high for my own taste.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 08 2026

Not gonna be my favorite, as I'm still not the lyrics above everything guy, but an absolutely good listen. Solid 3.

Forever Changes by Love
Jan 09 2026

Was a fine album from the era. Better than average.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Jan 10 2026

First track was insane, it got a little boring after that

Dry by PJ Harvey
Jan 11 2026

This was pretty damn amazing. Don't really know how to compare this to her other albums, but I really have nothing bad to say about this one. Banger after banger

Time (The Revelator) by Gillian Welch
Jan 12 2026

Beautiful songs, i just wasn't feeling the sad vibes

Night Life by Ray Price
Jan 13 2026

Don't really have a huge appreciation for this era and sound of music, but it was pleasant

Jan 14 2026

Kinda wanted to hate this album, but in the end ended up liking it. The bass sounded pretty damn good, and half of the songs were very fun

Jan 16 2026

Yeah, I don't know, i guess there were a lot of "ahead of it's time" moments, but I think it was longer than it should've been, and maan that's the problem with rock bands from the british invasion. Nothing really compares to the run of albums the Beatles had by this point. I probably should give it another chance, but at this point I didn't feel it being better than a strong 3 for me

The Coral by The Coral
Jan 17 2026

this was pretty fun. Probably not gonna revisit too often, but had a jolly good time. Yarrr? Strong 3

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jan 18 2026

There's so many layers to this record. Those who gave this album a score lower than 3 never even gave it a chance. Probably #1 hiphop album ever.

Jan 19 2026

A little dad rock-y, but the instrumentals were amazing on this one. Still by the end, it's a strong 3 and not a 4

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jan 20 2026

This was much better than I expected. Banger songs on here.

Jan 21 2026

I listened to this one for around 3 hours during the course of the week. At a first listen, due to the fact that I generally don't like rnb and the 2000s sound of hip-hop, I felt like this album is a 4 by my ranking. But after giving it another chance, diving into the history, it would be criminal to not give this one a well-deserving 5. She's an amazing storyteller, and the songs are all incredible in their own right. I think the second track is the closest to what I usually like, but I now love more than half of the songs on this one. The impact it had on music as a whole and hip-hop can not be understated. Easy 5

Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson
Jan 22 2026

A little bloated but there are some pretty cool songs on this one.

The Last Of The True Believers by Nanci Griffith
Jan 23 2026

Nothing very major. Average country from the era. Maybe even earlier. Sounds pretty, good background music

Marquee Moon by Television
Jan 24 2026

This was a pretty fun adventure. Wasnt blown away or anything, but i can see why some people are crazy about it. Loved the ending too

Music by Madonna
Jan 25 2026

bullshit ass title. Shoud be Kinda Shit Music. Veery early 2000s sound. Definitely didn’t age well. But also it just doesn’t have the bops I expect from someone like the big Madonna. Absolutely not an album you have to listen to before you die.

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Jan 26 2026

Wanted to hate it again, but these are some pretty nice grooves from time to time. It also is kinda ahead of the time a little bit. The sampling techniques are pretty breakthrough things in 1990. Was not expecting to hear Q tip on this one though. Low 3

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Jan 27 2026

Didn’t expect the orcs to pull up on pt. II

Slayed? by Slade
Jan 28 2026

Nothing really remarkable, but fun time in the background for sure

Jan 30 2026

This caught me by surprise. I liked Common's Be a lot. This might not be AS good as that one, but still, beautiful grooves, just smooth as butter all around. I don't think it should be an hour and 20 minutes long, but definitely a good time even with this looong runtime. Mid-Low 4

For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music
Jan 31 2026

I was a little disappointed. I liked the other two Roxy Music entries. Not so much this one. Did not hate, it, but this doesn't belong higher than 3.

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Feb 01 2026

Forgettable, but pretty nice at times

Tellin’ Stories by The Charlatans
Feb 02 2026

I’m just gonna protest the britpop slop that’s on this list. This is just a shittier version of an Oasis record. Lazy 2

Behaviour by Pet Shop Boys
Feb 03 2026

Actually was a bit better, It's a sin is their only banger, i can conclude at this point. This is beginning to sound a little too much like the 90s, which takes it a bit lower for me. It's just a little boring altogether. For sure listenable, but also veery forgettable. Looooow 3

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
Feb 04 2026

It's such a good vibe listening to this one. Loooove the grooves. I think it could've been a little moore, but it's still awesome for what it iis. Good 4.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Feb 06 2026

This was pretty nice altogether. I think i heard a better one of hers before, but this was fun from start to end. Mid 4

Feb 07 2026

At first i really wanted to just rate this a 3 and say it's just a worse Tribe with a Beastie Boys flow. Then I read about the group, the album, and just what they represent for people. And by the end of the first listen, I thought, yeah it's worth a solid 4. Then today I listened to the whole thing with some pretty good headphones, and now it all came together. This is a banger of an album, with very memorable beats, and just a fuuun time with a funny group flooding the crisp beats with some clever rhymes. Glad this was on the list. Low 5.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Feb 08 2026

This was much better than I expected. Loooved the sound, amazing mix first of all. Other than that, the Captain Beefheart influence is veery noticable. I don!t know if i like this album better, or I just gave this one a better chance than the others, but i fw this. Low 4

Remedy by Basement Jaxx
Feb 09 2026

Honestly it was much better than people say. I liked it. Not to the level of the french house scene, but a good time

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Feb 10 2026

This was of course amazing, but probably not as good as his trio of perfect works

The Stooges by The Stooges
Feb 12 2026

This one slaps. At first I listened to it on high-end headphones with a clean tune. I didn't really like it. Few days later changed to a lower quality iem with a warmer tuning, turned it up, and that's when it hit the right way. I can hear a lot of artists i love on this. Reading about it confirmed the fact that this was one of the favourite records of everybody who made "rock music" as good as it is.

Parallel Lines by Blondie

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Feb 16 2026

Spookyscary

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Feb 18 2026

I've seen this album cover so many times before. I had very high expectations, and sadly I did not love it as much as I wanted to. I think i could compare this one to smashing pumpkins, but this just didn't click as much as it could've. High 3 or low 4.

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
Feb 19 2026

This was pretty fun. I think most of the better songs were covers, but it sounded pretty damn good. Soolid 3. The length is not really justified

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Feb 20 2026

Intoxicating, and as it’s clearly audible, infinitely influential. Loved every second

Snivilisation by Orbital
Feb 21 2026

It’s fine. But i kinda wanted it to end by the halfway point, so I’m gonna give it a strong 2

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Feb 22 2026

I’ve always heard this band’s name, but never really indulged in their discography. It is (actually, to my surprise) right up my alley. Maybe post-rock is one of my favourite genres? Probably. I was hearing a lot of things in this one that came after 1999. Looved the spaciousness on this one and honestly, I don’t have anything bad to say about it. So it’ll go to the 5 star wall.

Hms Fable by Shack
Feb 23 2026

maan Oasis can be boring sometimes but this just takes britpop to a new level. its not that bad. is a white wall bad?

A Little Deeper by Ms. Dynamite
Feb 24 2026

Honestly, this one stands it's ground among 2000s rap/rnb albums. Stronger 3

Rust In Peace by Megadeth

I kinda hate thrash metal, but for some reason i enjoyed this. Strong 33

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Mar 06 2026

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
Mar 07 2026

I was really hopeful after California Stars, but it kinda gets a little flat towards the end. Was a 4 for the most part, but overall it's a 3 for me.

Smokers Delight by Nightmares On Wax
Mar 08 2026

It is kind of background music. I’m a little underwhelmed, but honestly, I might listen to this while studying some time. Mid 3

Mar 09 2026

This is a pretty colorful record. I now know another Chitown rapper finally. Liked most of the beats, and didnt sound like just another badly mixed 2000s record. I had lots of fun with this one

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Mar 10 2026

Was a pretty good jazz album. Didnt strike me as deep as some other on the list, but definitely a good time

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Mar 11 2026

Yeah, you know you could throw out most of white people music in the 60s, even 70s if somebody dug deep enough in any artist's history. Not trying to justify what he did at all, fuck the guy, but I do believe we can disconnect the art from the artist to some extent. So keeping that in mind, they do sound like some other bands in the 60s, but I think this album of theirs can stand toe-to-toe with some early Beatles records and Beach Boys joints. I think this with it's 35 minutes is a non-stop banger after banger. It's crazy how there are no real skips on a record from 1966. It is one dimensional by today's standards, but it's just perfect for what it is. Tempted to give it a lower score, because of John, but I loved the record and it's sound. So it is a 5 for me.

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Mar 12 2026

The production is mindblowing, the actual substance of the record is weak in comparison. Mid 3

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Mar 18 2026

I think there are still some covers here, but loved the energy

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Mar 19 2026

Well, i always kinda wanna hate on solo Morrissey stuff, but this wasnt too bad either. Not smiths at all, but pretty enjoyable

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Mar 20 2026

This was pretty damn amazing. Reminded me a lot of Tracy Chapman. Want to revisit abd maybe check out her other stuff

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Mar 21 2026

I might like Carrie and Lowell a little better, but god this maaan. playing the most playful childlike melodies known to man, and then talking about the pov of a serial killer. Or the guy takes you through a beautiful memory of a girl, and then boom, she died. I turn off my ability to understand english sometimes when listening to him. He’s a brilliant musician, and I’m glad AT LEAST this is on the list. Low 5

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Mar 24 2026

Way too long. Have to revisit sometime

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
Mar 25 2026

This is right up my alley. Had so much fun with this. I'll probably revisit it often. It kinda sounds like a lot of others in the 90s, but it's also kind of ahead of the sound a little bit. Maybe it's not at the level of Nevermind, khm khm Spin magazine.... Still, strong 4

Mar 26 2026

Well here we go... Yeah, this is why i really don't like 2000s hiphop. Look, I'm sure 50 was very influential with this sound. He probably wasn't the first one, but he definitely influenced this direction that hiphop went in during the 2000s. Sooo I really can't rate it high. It sounds cheap, the producition is subpar to the 90s 2010s and even the 80s for that matter. If it wasn't for the hits, I'd definitely rate it a 2.

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Mar 27 2026

It is a little barebones by today's standards, and i think some years later, some other groups perfected this sound even better, but their influence can not be understated. That is for sure. I'm gonna give it a stroooong 3, but not a 4 sadly.

Wild Gift by X
Mar 28 2026

Wasnt bad at all, but nowhere near any grunge bands a little later. Or hardcore punk bands also a little later. Fun tracks, just a little weak. Solid 3

Pink Flag by Wire
Mar 29 2026

I knew this was gonna be amazing, and it reeeally was. It's the exact punk (post-punk?) that I love. Non-stop action and incredible guitar sounds, especially for the time. Loved everything about it. Probably a more fitting 4, but I just don't have anything bad to say about it, so it's a 5 for me.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Mar 30 2026

I liked this one of course. My expectations were incredibly high, and sadly i was not blown away, but it is as good as their other entries in the book. Not a fan of the mix, but learning how it was recorded, I can see why it sounds like this. Love it's influence, and i had lots of fun with it. Might have to pick it up on vinyl later. Solid 4

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Mar 31 2026

Yeah, I mean, not super exciting. The songs that they covered ARE real good songs, but there's nothing really original added to it. I think you can sense the Stones sound in this one a little, but this did not really deserve an entry. If we're looking at like significance, sure, but this is not something everyone should hear. It's okay, but the originals are waaaay better. Low 3

Harvest by Neil Young
Apr 01 2026

Hpnestly, i still find the guy’s voice annoying, even though in general i like singers with this tone of voice, like Thom York, but he just sounds like a 10 year old choir boy, who tries to sing after crying for an hour. That being said, this is probably as good as he gets. I’d have still given it a strong 3 altogether, if it wasnt for the incredible sound/mixing of this record, like wow. Even on worse gear, this one shines.

I was very much looking forward to listening to this as i LOOVE Loveless. This really sounds like the demos before Loveless. That aside, this is a more easy listen for most people and for most moods I think. Some song elements are pretty rough, but the sound is amazing here too. God damn this shields guy knows how to make guitars sound ethereal

There have to be better drum n bass records out there. This isn't really it. Gonna rate it lower than 3 only bc of the length.

Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney
Apr 10 2026

This was an awesome listen. Probably not gonna keep listening to it, but a great addition to the 90s grrlls playlist. Curious to hear other stuff from them.

Drunk by Thundercat
Apr 12 2026

Didn't know he was silly goofy like that. Technically amazing for sure, but I think some other people do the funny better with technically amazing music. Hearing about and seeing this album all over the place, I was expecting a little more. Good time, but probably won't really revisit

John Prine by John Prine
Apr 13 2026

Murica again. Nice stories and all, but nothing extra for me. I think this is just the culture difference. I’m sure i could enjoy this more if i were american

Guero by Beck
Apr 14 2026

Yeah i don't know what to think about this one. For one, I'm angry for 3 Beck inclusions, but then again, after listening to the whole album, this isn't so baad. Like a mid 3. Probably not gonna listen to it again, but there were some pretty good tracks on here.

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
Apr 15 2026

Strong 3 altogether. A fun time for sure. Maybe not as fun as Prodigy and Fatboy Slim from the genre, but still a good one.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Apr 16 2026

I think I like trios, quartets better. This was also amazing. The energy must’ve been crazy live. Lower 4

Paris 1919 by John Cale
Apr 17 2026

I enjoyed this very much actually. Probably not going to revisit too often but this is a stroong 3

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Apr 18 2026

This was also better than i expected. Instrumentals are pretty nice

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Apr 19 2026

The two best parts of this list. UK aaand Country together. What can go wrong?

White Ladder by David Gray
Apr 21 2026

Pretty enjoyable and sometimes beautiful indie rock. Had a good time. This years love is a pretty one of course, but it was pretty enjoyable the whole way through. Strong 3

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Apr 22 2026

Not my thing, but it was pretty nice to listen to. Loved the instrumentals. Solid 3

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Apr 23 2026

She sounds much more raw in this one, much more unpolished than her big record. I think this is not nearly on the level of Back to Black and is much more bloated, but still some amazing songs, and you can hear her amazing voice on here too. Songwriting is a lot less sharp, and all, but still a low 4.

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Apr 24 2026

Okayy. But its background music

No Other by Gene Clark
Apr 25 2026

Well I was not expecting this to be so nice. Kinda liked almost every song. Mid-low 4

Nevermind by Nirvana
Apr 27 2026

An absolutely flawless record. In utero might be slightly better because of the even better writing, but this is just non-stop bangers. It’s so well recorded and mixed too. Masterpiece eeeasily

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Apr 28 2026

Fine

Abbey Road by Beatles
Apr 29 2026

Well of course it’s a 5 star record. After listening to almost their whole discography, I’m not exactly sure anymore, that this one is the absolute best one. You can sense the tension between the beatles on this one. Many of the lyrics can be interpreted in a hidden meaning, everyone hates everyone meaning, but this is really an incredible album to finish a run that will never ever be replicated.

Germfree Adolescents by X-Ray Spex
Apr 30 2026

Didnt get onboard with this one. Maybe i wasn’t in the mood, not sure. Low 3

In It For The Money by Supergrass
May 01 2026

Much better than i expected l, and a fun 90s record for sure. No huge standouts, so it’s a loow 4, but i cant give it a 3, since id love to listen again

The Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies
May 02 2026

Woooah. This was a surprise. I looove dynamic range. Loved the singing, the beautifully recorded, and played instruments, the atmosphere, everything. What a way to celebrate 1000th album. Strooong 4. Might be a 5 with a few more listens.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
May 03 2026

I'm very early into my Jazz listening journey, but this is one of the albums that got me into it. I will always cherish the memories of walking home in the dark after a late Uni class, listening to this. Such a beautiful record. Perfect everything. Ordered the vinyl seconds into first hearing it.

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
May 04 2026

This was a pretty good record. Loved the bass, the lyrics were pretty interesting, and his voice has a roughness to it, that is believable. Enjoyed this one.

Odessa by Bee Gees
May 05 2026

So this is what british bands make when they get as much money as the beatles? Money’s not everything? Kidding, but this was ROUGH to get through.

Audiophile dads must get the biggest boner listening to this, but I just think this ones a little like chicken with rice. I enjoy it but its pretty bland

May 07 2026

There are so many people on here triggered by gangsta rap. I guess I can understand it, but to overlook EVERYTHING else this record has to offer just baffles me. Among the 1001 albums we come across here, at lest half of them are made by artists that have some kind of really problematic controversy. I think in order to write lyrics like this, you have to have lived through some shit. I'm not trying to justify what he ALLEGEDLY did, but you can feel his pain on this album. Don't disregard any music because of an artist's life. You are robbing yourself of greatness. That being said, so far in my life, I always said 2pac is overrated. His later work blends into the kind of hiphop that i just don't really like, closer to the 2000s style. Mostly knowing his hits, i never dug deep enough. After listening to this one, I fully get it now. His rapping sounds soo effortless, I really can not compare it to anyone else. He was born to glide on these beats. Incredible writing, aand to my surprise, perfect beats too. As i found out, Easy Mo Bee is the producer on some of the songs, and he produced a lot of biggie's Ready to die, so it's not really surprising that i like it. I was scared of the double lp length, but this might be one of the few rap records, where it really is justified. To sum it all up, this probably is a top 100 album of all time. Super influential, and deeply personal.

Foxbase Alpha by Saint Etienne
May 08 2026

It’s just not very interesting is it?

Elephant by The White Stripes
May 09 2026

I mean, i’m sure it’s not a flawless record, but this played a pivotal part of shaping my music taste, so I’m gonna be biased period. That said, the bangers are bangin, the riffs are riffin. Can’t complain at all. Ball and a Biscuit is an all time best song.

Imagine by John Lennon
May 10 2026

Of course it’s amazing. I think it’s much sloppier than most beatles records, but he’s an amazing sonwriter, sven if the album as a whole and it’s sound doesn’t follow the cohesion i like. I dont want to be a soldier is one of the best beatle songs ever in my opinion. It’s so damn groovy and sounds soo good on the remaster. Loved it very much but i think i’m gonna give it a super strong 4 instead of a 5

Moondance by Van Morrison
May 12 2026

Honestly, this guy’s pretty good. Gotta listen again with my proper headphone setup

Metallica by Metallica
May 13 2026

I still dont really like this kind of metal, and are you kidding me? Did every single song have a guitar solo? Even the slow songs. ..

Eliminator by ZZ Top
May 14 2026

Okay, so I would’ve easily given this album a 4, it’s a fun time all the way through, BUT……. The drums…. How the HELL can a “hard rock” album have drum sounds like this? This shit sounds like a backing track for a guitar hero version. Like a Drum Learning app that makes this sound when someone messes up the part they’re supposed to play. Now at first I thought they were electric drums played by a person, which just makes my skin boil. But it’s more like a drum machine, which makes it a tiny bit better, but still. What do you mean a bunch of tough rock dudes with beards and hot rods and choppers make music with shitty electronic drum sounds that sound much worse than what i can now do in Garage band on the toilet??? I think the hot rod on the cover should be replaced by a TESLA bc of this. FUCK electric drums. They’re for practice. Would love to, but can’t give it lower than 3, bc its full of bangers if i listen on speakers far from my ears.

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
May 15 2026

Honestly, this is a damn good band, and a tight, good all around collection of songs. I have to view the byrds as a proper part of the 60s popular music. This was very nice to listen to. I think this is a better record than the early beatles records until Rubber Soul.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
May 16 2026

This was a really groovy record. Not 5 star material for me personally, but groovy and amazing all around. Loved my time with it.

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
May 17 2026

This was a fun listen for sure. Cool history too. This is absolutely underrated here. So I'm gonna give it a low 4.

May 18 2026

Nice vibes, but also pretty boring sadly. Hoped itd be a little better. I’m sure there’s plenty of amazing records from the region that also couldve been included

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
May 19 2026

What just happened. Well not my thing, I’m not a huge fan of theater in general, so not the target audience. That said, it’s interesting to hear unique stuff on here. Low 3 for interesting.

Rip It Up by Orange Juice
May 20 2026

It was fine background music for a sunny day, but i almost instantly forgot it. Fiine but forgettable

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
May 21 2026

i guess I’m not Intelligent enough in Dance Music, but as much as i tried to artsy fartsy justify this, it really is a messy one, and hey, kudos if you like it.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
May 23 2026

An absolutely amazing record and to think that these are like B sides… She’s probably one of the best singers ever. I was almost crying to most of these songs while walking. She’s just amazing at portraying a feeling and just giving it to you. She wouldnt even have to sing words. Amazed, and honored to have been able to listen to this one.

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
May 24 2026

Perfectly fine. Not exceptional by todays standards but definitely not lower than a 3

Crazysexycool by TLC
May 25 2026

This was pretty crazy and sexy and cool.

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
May 26 2026

I mean this was a really enjoyable new wave record. Pretty colorful, not at all one dimensional like so many from the genre. That said, i did not expect to hear a Springsteen cover. Low 4

Nixon by Lambchop
May 27 2026

its fine. Low 3

May 28 2026

This is wayy underrated over here, it has no business being below a 3.0, so i'm for sure going to rate it a 4. I can hear a lot of what would become math rock in this one. For being essentially a pioneer of post-rock, this is a must listen, and it is a blast. I had the melodies stuck in my head for quite a while. I enjoyed my time with it. Not too long at all in my opinion

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
May 29 2026

I did not enjoy this nearly as much as i did Loveless. Don't think it has the same magic. High 3

Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
May 30 2026

Well I got spiritualized. Low 4 for this one, their other one was better.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
May 31 2026

Well, I really dont have anything bad to say about this one. At one point I thought it might go a little glam-rocky, but I'm happy that it did not. Solid 5 probably

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Jun 01 2026

asswater. Couldn't be bothered with this one, wanted it to end asap

Jun 02 2026

I dont know… I just really didnt find anything super interesting about this one. Side B was much better though. That would be closer to a 4

Who's Next by The Who
Jun 04 2026

I think this is overrated. They're not stones level. The intro and outro are iconic, but it's just not my thing really

Jun 05 2026

He just doesn’t have a voice that i like too much. Kinda sounds like if my uncle sat down to rhyme over some random (not super strong) beats. I expected it to be a little better. Also it’s super long

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jun 06 2026

silly goofy

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 07 2026

Yeah, idk. It was pretty fun to listen to while playing some racing games, but it's just soo background music. It's too long, and the best part of it is probably Rick Rubin. Or flea.

Diamond Life by Sade
Jun 08 2026

Yeah, I mean she has a voice like no other. Even though Smooth Operator blew up in the last few years, it's still an incredible song. And to my "surprise", the whole album is super close to that level. This was an incredible listen from start to finish. Did not want it to end. Super easy 5 star

Under Construction by Missy Elliott
Jun 09 2026

Okay, now i rated Supa Dupa Fly a 5 i think. That record is amazing. Timbaland kills that. This one, is closer to the hiphop i really don't like. The early digital age. Things sound thin, super processed, it just does not have the soul of 80s and 90s rap. She's cool, and all, and the lyrics are good sometimes, but i did not get the feeling that she's speaking to the womeeen. It was not a woman empowerment album at all. Favorite track was Bring the Pain by far. That's an incredible beat. Anything else is around a 3 star for me, so for the EXCLUSIVE album. I'll give a mid 3

Jun 10 2026

Some really pretty sounds, but I guess this isn’t the time yet for me and prog rock. It is waaay too long for me.

I Against I by Bad Brains
Jun 11 2026

Eh, wasn't as strong as their other one.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jun 13 2026

This is a flawless record. I feel sorry for people who don't think so.

Jun 14 2026

i really just can’t imagine enjoying this record besides like a 60s theme bar somewhere. I’m sure there are some ppl who say This is music, and everything else that came afterwards is just noise.

Closer by Joy Division
Jun 15 2026

This also has some of the best post-punk music ever made. This record played a pivotal part in shaping my music taste, when i first started to obsess over joy division, when i was around 17. I kinda feel sad for people who can't stand people singing off-tune, they're really missing out on some of the rawest emotions in popular music. I think unknown pleasures is a better record altogether. This is way more depressing. I think decades and Heart and Soul are some of their best, this has to be only a strong 4 compared to my fives.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Jun 16 2026

I tried so hard to hate this. It’s early beatles and all, before their primee. There are many solid bands in this eraa. These people are absolutely geniuses. How?

Talking Timbuktu by Ali Farka Touré
Jun 17 2026

I enjoyed this a lot, but reading up on it, knowing that the main guy just did not like this record too much, i dont feel good giving it a good rating. Still, it's a good one for lovers of the guitar. Low 4

The Man Who by Travis
Jun 18 2026

I feel like after the Bends or at the very least okc, every britpop artist just wanted to sound like Radiohead. Can’t blame them, but this really just sounded like a cover band of a few britpop bands. That said, those covers were actually pretty good. Strong 3

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 19 2026

Do I really have to give THIS a 5 star? Honestly, there was not one song that i did not enjoy. It's cheesy, it's way too patriotic, but damn... it's bangers on bangers. Low 5

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Jun 21 2026

Yeah it’s weird. Weird is cool. This is fine

1977 by Ash
Jun 22 2026

Was vibing thru this. I like the sound very much, nothing standing out super much, but it is up my alley. Lower 4

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Jun 23 2026

Can’t believe it, but i enjoyed this from front to back.

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jun 24 2026

I am weird. But I am not this weird

Arrival by ABBA
Jun 25 2026

It’s a fun tiime for sure. Not my thing at all, but can’t hate on any of these when they come up in a club or at a party.

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Jun 26 2026

I can feel that it’s nothing special. This kinda sounds like a mixture of a bunch of big artists. But it’s still one of my favorite genres, and the exec. is pretty good solid

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jun 27 2026

Yeah, i love the smiths 🥰 and all… But i don’t think it’s a flawless record. Love the sound, and i have a shitty memory in general, but there’s no way in hell I fould ever forget There’s a light that never goes out. It’s just an emotional connection. So low 5

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Jun 28 2026

Not a fan of Glam in general, but this was a superb record, wow. Jaws open whole way through. It is as good as Yellow Brick Road i think. Not long at all, just the right length. Very strong 4

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Jun 29 2026

Maan this is such an amazing album. I fell in love with Hospital so much when i was like 17, and only listened to the whole album years later. This one, is absolutely one of the best 70s records for me. It’s raw, but still sounds amazing. Sounds undeniably very VU, probably bc of John Cale, but this one can stand toe to toe with a few VU records in my opinion. It rocks, it’s funny, the guitars are bangin. This is an easy 5 for me.

Street Signs by Ozomatli
Jun 30 2026

This was a damn weird experience. This is whats usually playing on the radio in a weeird dream I had riding that tiny ass car in india.

Jul 01 2026

Well, i did not like this neeearly as much as the Crab boi album. But it was still pretty fire. Strong 3

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Jul 04 2026

I love this sound, and when I’m in the mood for them, they’re pretty much my favorite band. This is a phenomenal record, truly the peak of their creativity i think. To have a double lp that’s this solid, and having to cut down on material they recorded, is crazy to me. I generally don’t like how the best of their music is mixed/recorded, but this one sounded good too. Thanks to the big guy producer.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Jul 05 2026

Didnt blow me away, but a vibey time

The Libertines by The Libertines
Jul 07 2026

Very early Arctic Monkeys-like, but without much of the flavor. It was a pretty enjoyable record for me, but not too much incentive to come back to it. Strong 3

Jul 08 2026

Okay, so this is going to be a biased one. Probably my most biased review yet. Firstly, I have to say, that i think this is a record, where the highs are super high, and the lows are kinda sounding like b-sides. With that out of the way.... I am not the biggest Lana fan ever, this is her only album of hers i absolutely LOVE. She has other amazing records, but this one stuck with me ever since it came out. And now the gushing: THIS is the album that made me fall in love with hi-fi. This is where it all started. I got my Sennheiser HD600s, had them for a few weeks, they sounded good. But the level of quality that this record has, mixing, recording-wise is just phenomenal in my opinion. If we don't even look at the lyrics, which i actually rarely do, the title track and breaking up slowly have been stuck in my head since 2021, and i have a hard time thinking they would ever leave it. Not a flawless record, but easily one of my favorites of all time.

Rapture by Anita Baker
Jul 09 2026

Absolutely amazing voice, but this genre, especially in the 80s is a little too much for me, and in turn, not super interesting. Solid 3 though

Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp
Jul 10 2026

This was a very pretty record. Hey now i know where that Yeezus sample comes from.

It's bobbyyy, it's pretty goood. The story of it is pretty interesting too. I love his studio albums much more though. Not the biggest fan of live albums in general, so it would be a solid 3 for me.

Jul 12 2026

She’s an amazing singer, but i just dont like this late 80s style of women singing pop style. suuper dramatic and grandiose. Mid 3

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Jul 13 2026

Kinda wholesome punk, interesting

Jul 14 2026

Not my thing at all. Yet? The soundstage is insane on it. It's incredible that this is stereo mixing. For the sound quality alone, this was a worthwhile listen

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Jul 15 2026

She’s a good country singer. That’s about it.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jul 17 2026

Love their sound. The best song is ofc the 12 minute one. Lower 4

Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Jul 18 2026

This is a really interesting listen. I always put it aside for weeks now, but I’m really happy i listened. Mid/Low 4

Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer
Jul 19 2026

What are people oooon? This is below a 3? Some people credit it as the birth of hard rock and stuff. And what a way to introduce it? I was debating giving it a 5. This is a strong 4. Super strong

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Jul 20 2026

Honestly this was a really fun listen. Glad i came across it. Low 4

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Jul 22 2026

This has some pretty good vibes. Loved my time I had with it, probably will not revisit besides Genius of Love. Strong 3 though

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
Jul 23 2026

This was really the perfect record to pack my bags to. Solid strong 3 for the vibes.

Fun House by The Stooges
Jul 24 2026

This is an incredible record, and one i can finally appreciate Iggy on to the fullest. Not his biggest fan at all, but this is a banger. Strong 4

Play by Moby
Jul 25 2026

This was good, but i think what spawned from this is much better. Props to the guy for trying one more time, and influencing a part of modern music.

Beach Samba by Astrud Gilberto
Jul 26 2026

Its' a vibey one for sure. Don't think it's any close to the Gilberto and Getz record, but I could put this on any day and have a good time. Low 4

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jul 27 2026

Honestly, i don't vibe with country too much, buuut Willie is a relly good artist in the genre. Solid 3.

Jul 28 2026

This was a Trip. Not super into southern hip-hop from the era, but there are some bangers on this one. Loved the sampling, and the spaciousness of the record, which is a rare occurence in rap music from the era. It’s a pretty good mix. Amazing samples of course. Low 4.

OK by Talvin Singh
Jul 29 2026

Weird one, but pretty good for working? Low 3

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Jul 30 2026

This was a little boring. Some really interesting sounds but definitely not at the level of Massive Attack or Primal Scream
