Killing Joke
Killing Jokeoooooh Killing Joke!! TBH The only song I know from them is Millenium. Which is a bad ass song!! super diggin this album, it's like early punk and also a little bit of like joy division tones maybe? I love this. 5 stars
oooooh Killing Joke!! TBH The only song I know from them is Millenium. Which is a bad ass song!! super diggin this album, it's like early punk and also a little bit of like joy division tones maybe? I love this. 5 stars
I think I may have one of this guys songs saved. Very bluesy! I like it! Just turned up the volume a bit, this is some good blues!! He's got a great gravely voice (for a white boy :P) Man this was actually a really good album. I saved not 1 not 2 but 3 songs from it!! 5 stars.
oh fuck yeah dude. Never did own this album nor have I listened to it other than what they would have played on the radio. So this will be nice. Dude I actually really like this. Love the attitude and the rhyming. This album is great! 5 āØ
Not sure what to expect here, let's give it a whirl. Wiki says they're a canadian indie rock band...they kind of remind me of The Shins. It was good. 3 stars
I'd never heard this album before. So far so good! I know Miles Davis is a jazz god, so glad I'm getting exposed to this! Will come back to write some more when I've heard it all. Will I still be able to write if I click save? Testing... Yep! chat soon. Very nice soothing music! 2/5 stars
LOVE IT! Loved the way it transported me back to the days I never lived in but know from movies.
Awwwwe yeah, here's my jam! Love me some DM That was great!! As much as I love DM I'd never heard that album!
Liked it but not crazy about it. I liked the Who Shot the Sherrif cover the best
Amazing album! I really enjoyed it. I'd heard lot about it before and know of him of course. I see his face every time I go to A Bar Named Sue. There was a track on there where his wife June sings with him (Jackson). Now it all makes sense. Johnny / June on the bathroom doors. I didn't know that was his wife. I hearted one song called Give My Love to Rose.
Liked it! I'd only ever heard Intro by them before, so it was interesting to hear their voices both male and female
Never gets old!
meh
Okay this album is really weird. Silly nonsensical lyrics, okay electronic sounds, some real jazzy parts. Definitely very unique. I found it a bit amateur and lazy as far as the lyrics go, but again had some real interesting sounds that I enjoyed.
Country. Not my bag.
Actually really dug this album! I didn't know he was the same rapper of Tribe Called Quest. This is the type of hip hop / rap I like!
I've always liked Leonard Cohen ever since Natural Born Killers. This album is great! I like the dark overtones, his deep voice, and the sinister of it. The only thing I don't like is how much biblical and god references there are.
This album came out in 1996, you'd think I would have hear about it before but I hadn't. Honestly, it's a bit repetitive, and kinda slow. Every now and then I get a nostalgic 90s feel but. Not blown away.
This was a really great album. I kept hearing Talking Heads voice all through out. The electronic music element combined with the Talking Heads sound made for a really great album!
ooooh I'm excited for this one! Oh man, that album was amazing!! They had lots of tracks I hadn't heard. A few that were very suprisingly jazzy. And one that was very punk. Amazing album.
Never heard of these guys. I'll give it an honest listen. Being that it's 1981 might have some potential. Wait!! I just saw what their top track is. Temptation from Train Spotting. So yes I've heard them but that's the only song. Cool! Now I'm excited. Well it was alright. Nothing I would revisit again. It definitely had that feeling like it was trying to break away from the previous decades sound that was disco. I think the coke pandemic had already invaded Britain by this point.
Oooh some good 60s oldies. I can dig it! There's something very special with these older pioneers of rock. This album was incredible!! Absolutely loved it.. I love music that can transport me back in time, and this record definitely did that for me. This had the unmistakable sound of the 60s, every track on this record was excellent!
Never really listened to Prince before. I'll give it an honest listen. "Slow Love" is a pretty good song. It's the first track that I really think is good. Well I couldn't make it through the rest. It wasn't really keeping my attention. I don't know what all the fuss is about Prince. ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Never heard of this band. But I can get down with some 60s rock! \m/ Man this album has been fire!! I get some real strong Jimmy Hendrix vibes, mainly from the guitar sounds. But yeah these guys rock! They straddle the line between rock and metal imo. They're all white boys but they sound black. lol hmm they're from Michigan I guess. The last track Starship is very cool! Sinister and psychedelic. The last part kind of sounded like Willie Wonka in the boat scene.
Don't know if I know these guys. Starts off pretty cool! 1994 was a good year for music. I have hope for this one. Hm, there's The London Suede and then just Suede. Both sound exactly the same. Apparently they are one and the same. First song was a little trippy, kinda psychedelic. Second song sounds more like something you would hear on the radio. But I like it! They're very British. I'm really digging this album. Talented musicians. Has a bit of U2 vibes and sometimes David Bowie. Wow I'm seriously blown away by this album! Especially this track, Still Life, it's orchestral, and beautiful.
Yay, The Cars!! i've heard Good Times Roll, and Just What I Needed on the radio plenty of times. The voice is very unique. And I'm diggin the ol rocknroll styel. When music was not all digitized. Moving in Stereo is a good song too!
Let's give this a listen. Interesting name and album cover art...jazz? Yep! Only 4 tracks for a length of 53 min. Zombie, has lyrics. I love it! It has a very African sound to it that I'm enjoying.
Awe yeah! A classic. This takes me back to the Shani days. Some good some bad memories. But I do like me some Eminem.
Loving this album!! It's very Massive Attackish. This was a great album! Loved the ambience and the eeriness.
Oh fuck yeah!!! I've heard this one many many times. What an amazing album!! Now THIS one takes me back to the good ol days. Killing me softly was on the radio a lot when I first moved back down here in 1995. But the whole album is really great!
The Rolling Stones were a huge deal. I personally never got into them. I don't dislike them. I just never really seek them out. So this will be a fun listen. It was good. Nothing mind blowing or nothing that stuck out.
Okay lets do this. I first knew of David Bowie from Labrynth. Then from Se7en. (Heart's filthy lesson). Then Moulin Rouge (Nature Boy). Other than that I don't know too much about his music.
hmmmm, well okay, if I must... I'm actually really enjoying this! It's that old country sound. Like the sound of Not In Nottingham. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, was nice. Sad. Can I Sleep in Your Arms is good too. There is some really great guitar plucking in this album!
Some old school rap, let's go! Never heard it before but this was during my montana years, and I wanted to be a black mun, lol the time of cross colors. I would pick old school rap over new rap any day. Rap now is weird. Wow, the intro to Bring the Noize surprised me. It's metal, and the vocals are similar to Limp Biskit. It's Anthrax in the background
Hmm Primal Scream aren't they techno? HAHA NOPE, they sound a bit like Rolling Stones honestly. Rock. Kinda cool. it's a 90 min album. So Primal Scream did do a song on the Trainspotting soundtrack. That song is def more techno than this album. But pretty cool so far! I'm really digging this journey to 1001 albums. A few of the tracks were not available on Spotify :/
Hm Air, sounds familiar. I like the album art. Vocals just started. I thought it would be a female singer. It's not. I like it! Suits my mood today. Yeah really digging this actually! Cemetary Party (interesting spelling) is cool! It sounds cinematic to me. Like it could be the background for some movie scene. I love the eeriness of Dark Messages. Highschool Lover sounds like a song I've heard before but with lyrics. I liked that one. Yeah I think this one's getting 5 stars! oooh Empty House is catchy. Apparently this album was named after the movie by the same name. And the very last track Suicide Underground, seems to have excerpts from the movie? Just found out that movie was directed by Sofia Coppola, daughter of the great Francis Ford Coppola!
Some more good ol 60s rock. It's nice, I like it. Probably wouldn't revisit this album. Very 60s iconic rock. What fun times those must have been. I wonder if any of this stuff is ever played on the radio. Never heard this band before.
I think I may have one of this guys songs saved. Very bluesy! I like it! Just turned up the volume a bit, this is some good blues!! He's got a great gravely voice (for a white boy :P) Man this was actually a really good album. I saved not 1 not 2 but 3 songs from it!! 5 stars.
Alright, I could do some rap today. Feeling in that mood! Lets get this. Once again, an album I've never heard. Heard of them obviously. And maybe I'll recognize a song here and there. We'll see. Meh
Meh, I wasn't too impressed. I had heard one of these songs on the radio, Cars, but every song sounded a little bit like it. Kind of repetitive sounds and vocals. I was familiar with some of his more recent stuff. In fact I have one of his songs "liked" It's a TOTALLY different style than this album was. Much more sinister and dark. He was actually here a couple weeks ago with Ministry!!! I really should have gone. Oh well.
Oh shit! Everyone obviously knows Toms Diner, but I honestly have never heard anything other than that! lol Excited to see what this will be like. hmmmm she sings like a kid sings when they just make songs up. Not a whole lot of melodic, vocals. Reminds me of Frente a little bit. Wow this album is from 1985? Didn't realize she started so early.
Hey!! Diego has a shirt of this picture. I've been actually liking old rap lately. This will be a good one. Good stuff! I'll probably be revisiting this one. A couple songs had some sexy sensual stuff! ;)
I couldn't tell you any songs by Deep Purple, though I know that they were a pretty big deal once upon a time. Oh, HA! JK Smoke on the Water. Everyone knows that song! I'm diggin it so far. Something special about that eras rock. Dare I say it was purer than todays rock? Good stuff so far! Wow! The Drums on Flight of the Rat!! The drums have been a key highlight for me on this album. I really liked that album! 4 stars!
Some more 60's rock, alright!! German-based American rock band hm!
Going into this blindly and the first song is one I've definitely heard. Gotta Get Up, it's the song they used in the Russian Doll show. Without You is also a popular song. What the fuck! Coconut is his too?! "She put the lime in the coconut...."
By the album art looks like county, but per Wiki, he's Lo-fi, Alternative country, Alternative/Indie, Underground music, Neofolk, Gothic country, Metal. Quite the spread of genres. Pretty guitar on the first song. Slow chill beat. Nice voice. His diversity is even present within this album. The Wind and The Dove starts out with a nice Arabic riff. Rather enjoying this so far.
HEYYY! I used to have this album! It's been ages since I've listened to it. My favorite was Rock n roll Nigger, but of course that is no available on Spotify, found it on YouTube though. Listening to that first. I could have sworn it was on Horses but I guess it was on Easter. I guess my first time hearing her was from the NBK soundtrack! Pure gold that one!
OH FUCK YEAH!!!! I have listened to this hundreds of time!! What interesting album art. I've always been fascinated by NIN and their artistic expressions. 5 stars on this one obviously. I love the darkness of this album. Crazy that I came to know and understand a lot of the anger and depression and darkness that comes from this album. Absolutely love it.
Hmm is this country?? I don't country much. Okay good, Google says she's "an American blues singer and guitarist." Lets give it a listen. Well it def has the 80s synth sounds here and there. Sounds country to me, but tolerable. It was nice. Probably not something I'd revisit. But I didn't hate it. 2 stars
I have no idea what to expect here. Never heard of it and the album are is pretty obscure. Cool though! Ghost tits! lol Well I listened to this while walking Mia. Thoughts: Ethereal, hum drone, reminded me of Tame Impala a lot, and a male version of Mazzy Star. Slow, mellow. I liked it.
Boston! Okay, lets do this. I know I know some of their songs. Just couldn't name a single one right now. Oh yes! More than a Feeling. Definitely know that one. Yep that's a golden record there!! All of them are big hits.
Heyyyyyyyy, so according to my uncle Manuel who I saw about 15-16 yrs ago, this was one of my dads favorite album. Don't think I've ever listened to it front to back though. Excited for this one! oooooh it's a 2 disc set. I didn't know that
I do love me some Simon & Garfunkel! Haven't heard this album from start to finish but am familiar with at least one of the tracks. America. This "Voices of Old People" track is interesting. Oh Mrs. Robinson is on this album. And it says "from The Graduate soundtrack" I'm gonna have to watch that. I've seen it around a lot and heard of it a bunch.
Serge Gainsbourg, hm! French! Awesome! I liked it!
Chicago! Lets go! Didn't realize how jazzy they were! Diggin this! the first one was just instrumental. Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? I've heard this one! Wow Poem 58 is awesome! Very Hendrixy
awe :( Amy. There's something so sad about her death and hits me harder knowing addiction. She left us a lot of gold. And she was so pretty! What an amazing artist! Her style is beautiful. Old and jazzy and modern all in one. Lovin this album.
Well I know ONE song from Meatloaf lol and it's not on this album. It will be an interesting listen. I get a musical movie type vibe so far. Especially track 2 sounds like a play. Reminds me of Grease.
Another new artist for me here. Only 4 tracks. I'm thinking jazz? Maybe just a pianist. Wow, I guess he played with Miles Davis for a time. Damn he's good! That was nice. It was relaxing.
Take Five is such a great song!
Okay. TGD Know of them and probably only one or two of their songs. Oh Friend of the Devil! HA they mention Utah in that song. The 60s and 70s were great decades for music. They had a shit ton of albums. Oh okay 13 according to ChatGPT. Second song they mention Utah. (Operator) Harmonica in this one. Reminds me a lot of Simon and Garfunkel. Truckin' I've heard this one too.
All I know of these guys is Sultans of Swing. Such an amazing solo in that. Oh! Money for Nothing just came on. I've heard this one a bunch. Never knew who it was. Oh WTF, Walk of Life is them too? The sound on those 2 songs are def 80s. So different from Sultans of Swing even though that was in 78, and this album is 85. Oh man this sax on Your Latest Trick is so 80s! Actually really enjoying Why Worry too. Nice guitar picking and sounds like some thunder. The Man's Too Strong sounds cool. Kinda country kinda blues kinda rock. Great album!
Well I listened to it. I liked it. Nothing terribly special. I had some notes in here earlier that got wiped away. I'll try to remember what I wrote. I think it was something along the lines of. I couldn't name a single Prince song, and that I know he was a big deal, and that this album was a big deal. I saw a video of him jammin out to guitar one time, and was really surprised how awesome it was. He can really jam! the first track had an awesome finale. The rest of the album I listened to at the gym so I wasn't totally tuned in. Purple rain was def catchy. And supposedly John was listening to that song this morning. What a quinky dink.
1997! This has promise. :) It's a bit Oasisy it was alright.
Fuck yeah, super stoked for this one! That was a great album. Funny how the songs are all so short. The whole album was just over 20 minutes. Loved it!
Hm, do I know Yes. I feel like I should. Let's take a listen.... The first track is 18:41 long. Kinda interesting. It's def 70's but this song is all over the place. Seems very disorganized, and chaotic. Like they just made it up as they went. Not too impressed.
I think I'll give this a 3. I liked the sinister feel to it. Slow and dark. I'd probably only ever heard what's been on the radio by S&TB.
I love this!! I love the Brit punk feel to it all.
I hope it's not country. Yep sure is. lol oh well we'll tough it out. Okay I'm kinda getting into it now. It's not terrible. lol
Don't know what to expect here but at least it doesn't seem like country. Okay this is super trippy. Very experimental. No real melody or tunes. I'll give it a 1.
Man! This album. I remember getting this through columbia records cd subscription. This and Cypress Hill. Everyone was bumping this! 1992. I was 13, 8th grade at Edna Thomas Middle school in Corvallis. lol Cross colors clothing was the shit, and Boyz in the Hood had just come out a year earlier.
I thought maybe this would be another country album by the cover art. It was not. It was actually quite nice. I listened while at the gym so I wasn't jotting down notes as I listened. But I enjoyed the bluesy sounds to it. And some good sax on the second to last song.
Really excited for this one. I don't know why I never really got into Massive Attack even though I was always obsessed with Faithless and they are often referred to as similar groups/music. The first track is pretty dope so far. Vocals sound a bit like Maxi Jazz RIP. I really liked that album! There was a song that had the same bass line as one of the Faithless songs. Five Man Army was the MA song, and Dirty ol Man was the faithless song.
hm, never heard of him before. But chances are I've heard a song from here. Well it's not as rappy as I thought it'd be. In fact it reminds me a lot of Black Eyed Peas. It's not bad, tolerable. Creeping into earning 3 stars. š
I actually really enjoyed this. Not sure if it merrits a 4 but definitely a 3. I liked the blue overtone it had throughout the album. I didn't realize Bob Dylan had continued making music past the 80s let alone into the 90s.
Alright some more jazz! We just recently rewatched LaLa Land. It's cool how much he loved jazz in that movie. It will help me get through the last hour of work. Nice! I liked it but prolly only a 2.
Yay! I love The Smiths. Well I didn't get to this today. But I will over the weekend.
HA! I didn't know the band OR song was called Green Onions. Pretty distinct sound. Pretty sure this was on The Sandlot. Hm, that's cool they do instrumentals for well known songs. Like I Got a Woman, Twist and Shout. Stranger on the Shore is nice. Slow. Comin' Home Baby is also cool!
It was okay. Not something I'd replay probably. Stevie Nicks sure does have a pretty voice though. Thought it was cool that it was my birthyear. There were some songs that were decent. 2 stars
Hm...sounds like something that should be on Dazed and confused. For a band I'd never heard of I really liked their sound. Iconic 70s rock. The vocals reminded me of the intro song to Freaks and Geeks. I wonder why they aren't more well known.
oooh looks intriguing. 2007...Is it metal? š¤š½ OH FUCK YEAH, the first electronic album. Sounds synth waveish. I dig it! It's very Daft Punk-y. Apparently they are also a French Duo. Dug quite a few of those songs! One I will revisit.
This is indeed a great album. It has lots of great songs. Devil's Haircut, The New Pollution, Jack-Ass, Where It's At. And one that wasn't on the radio called Ramshackle. Good stuff here.
Hey these guys are pretty cool! Neon Bible has a good sound. Kinda indie rock. Ocean of Noise is pretty. I like this album so far. Creeping up into a 4 star rating. The album was actually really great!
Don't know if I'll make it through todays album. It's 2hrs and first track is very experimental if the rest is like that then... yeah, not gonna happen. Well it turned out to be good ol 70s rock, but a bit too busy for me. Sorry. 1.5 stars.
The Cardigans!!! I'm always down for some nostalgic 90s tunes. I don't think I've listened to this whole album. Just Lovefool. oooh cool flute at the end of that first track. I didn't know these guys were Swedish. I really love Nina Persson's voice. It's like tangerine honey. How was Lovefool such a great song!! It totally sticks out from all the other songs to this point. What a hit! Great Divide...nice lyrics. Well the whole album was only 39 min. I was good, but of all the songs Lovefool is the best. Don't think I would revisit any of the other songs. 3 stars.
Hm, she's fucking hot!! I can do with some R&B today. Let's check it out! It was a decent album, a couple of tracks with naughty lyrics. Which I love. Doves in the Wind and Pretty Little Birds were the ones that grabbed my attention.
She Don't Use Jelly is the only song I've heard from these guys. I think. Ryan Sessions loved them. It was pretty decent. I like how different it is from most music these days. Turn of the millenium.... I'd say 3 solid stars
Wow Summertime has a beautiful guitar intro. I'm liking this album so far. Piece of My Heart!? cool, didn't know it was these guys. Turtle Blues was cool too. I like that they have more than one vocalist. Female and male. Ball and Chain is cool too! Oh WTF I just realized the singer is JANIS JOPLIN! what a blues voice she has!! I feel stupid that I hadn't recognized her voice before.
I couldn't get into this. It sounds like he's singing out of tune, or backwards or some weird shit. Experimental and trance-like is how spotify describes it. It's just noise to me.
Awe yeah runnin around robbin banks all whacked on scooby snacks! That's really the only song of theirs I could recognized, so I'm curious to see how the album holds up to that. I dig it. rap-like lyrics, slight Beastie Boys vibe. Nice blues lick on Passive/Aggressive. I like the hip-hop vibe mixed with metal guitars on this one. I keep getting Faith No More vibes too.
I'm actually liking this! I like that it's not gangsta rap. It's talented good rap. I think Aaron would actually like this. LOL Heart Street Directions skit was funny. R.A.G.U sounds great! Bad Mouth Kid lol. Whip You With A Strap is awesome too! Momma is good too. Solid 4 stars
Oh cool! Some Franky! I love the mood he sets. Funny I'd never heard any of these songs before.
Okay! Try Me just came on. Such a pretty song. I really love blues! I liked the energy in this album. 4 stars.
Some jazz huh? Okay. Coltrane is one of the greats so I hear. I'm going to be thinking of Whiplash. The cymbals on this first track is cool! Cool bass line. Meh it was okay. 2 stars
That's pretty cool art. Interesting music. It's pretty unique. I like how the end of each song bleeds into the next like it's one continuous track. It is a bit experimental and a bit unorganized, chaotic. Zen Archer is the first track that sounds like an actual song. lol Okay I really like Medley: I'm So Proud/ Ooh Baby Baby/ La La Means I Love You/ Cool Jerk. It super pretty. I hearted it. meh, it was alright. There were a few good songs but nothing I'd revisit.
I'm excited for this one. I actually kinda like his newer stuff better. Same with The Eels. This is so much different than Loser. It's slow and heart felt. I don't know I'll say 3 on this one.
Mom had this vinyl! Let's give it a go. I'm pretty sure I've listened to it before but not sure if I listened to from beginning to end. There's a big mural downtown that mimics the cover art of this album. I like the sitar and drum on Within You Without You. I really like A Day In The Life! pretty.
Well it's gotta be good right, it was born the same year as I was! Well it was alright. I mean he definitely has a unique voice. Hard to confuse that with anyone else. Satirical lyrics.
hm, the album art is deceiving. It looks like 70s art. Not sure what to expect here. Metal, rock, indie? Didn't get through it all at work, maybe I'll finish it up at the gym. Their voice reminds me of Counting Crows. It was alright. I liked the nostalgia feeling. 3āļø
oh fuck yeah dude. Never did own this album nor have I listened to it other than what they would have played on the radio. So this will be nice. Dude I actually really like this. Love the attitude and the rhyming. This album is great! 5 āØ
oh hell yeah!! 5 stars without even listening yet š I don't know if I've ever listened to a whole Slayer album before. I'm pumped! My only qualm is that it's only 34 minutes long. Oh shit, Raining Blood is on this album! Fuck they're so good!
Well this is a five right off the bat! Fucking love Led Zeppelin! Funny a girl at the coffee shop here was wearing a LZ shirt. It was good to see that. And I guess this was meant to be! ā¤ļø I had a song on this album hearted "Since I've Been Loving You" such a good song! Slow and bluesy.
Well I've definitely heard La Grange. First one I recognize. Meh it was okay. Only 2 stars.
I couldn't tell you a single song from this guy but I know I've heard him. Born to Run is kinda cool. 2 stars
awwwwwe yeah now we talkin! What a unique and beautiful voice! 4 stars
Wilco...sounds like I've heard this name. Well I misread the date of this album. I thought it said 1966. 1996 was a golden year. Kinda digging this. It's a bit country a bit grunge.
The Beastie Boys sure are a unique sound. I dig it.
Rip Buddy Holly. This 50s rock sure is fun. Would have been so cool to be alive during this time. There's not a single track longer than 3 minutes. This will be a quick 25 min listen. hehe. 3 stars
OMG! This album is amazing! Takes me back to when I first moved here. I'd listen to the tape on my walkman on the bus on my to parklane and back.
meh, I wan't super impressed. Had a hard time getting through it. 2 stars. nah 1
I do like Leonard Cohen. First heard of him on the Natural Born Killers soundtrack. His style is definitely unique. I like his deep voice. I always think he looked like Al Pacino. I enjoyed it. I'll give it a 4
Alright, some Marvin Gaye. Can't go wrong there. What a nice smooth voice. Very nice. 4 stars.
This album looks familiar. Came out the year I graduated from high school. This first one sounds like the Beetles funny because the song is called Beetlebum. Pretty good. I'll give it 4 stars
Alright, I'm down to change it up with some rap šš½ '91! meh, it was aight 2 stars
Well apparently this album is not available on Spotify. I'll pull up a couple youtube videos. Well I found the whole album on YT so I'll just listen to it there. It's only 36 min. mmmm not really my bag. 2 stars.
awe, my wife's favorite artist. I liked it, maybe 3 stars.
It was okay. Was kind of distracted when I was listening to it so I don't have much to say.
Sounds 70s, not gonna listen to all of it
Cool funky jazz. Not gonna listen to all of it. Catching up from vacation.
Funny that this was one of my missed album. Amanda sent me a white stripes song while I was out. I do like this style.
5 stars right off the bat. Love this woman so much. I feel like I can completely relate to her in regards to the heroin addiction. And the Back to Black song is just so epic. I have tried to perfect singing that.
I like the 80's synth in this first song. Not typically his style.
never followed her much after Extraordinary Machine. I don't like this album too much. It's too noisy and unmelodic meh, 2 stars
I think he has a song on the Garden State Soundtrack. His voice is familiar. He's a pretty talented musician. I can definitely appreciate the talent here. His voice is so smooth. Reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel. I'll give it 4 stars.
Fuck yeah!! 5 Stars.
I really like The Way You Make Me Feel. Ever since seeing Haily Reinhart and Casey Abrams perform it. Maybe I'll add that to my karaoke list. Solid 4 stars
It was okay, listened to it while making dinner. I do have a few of his songs saved. This one was too talky. The jazz was nice but no real singing.
Oh man this album has so many great hits! I would have loved to live through the 80s at an older age than I did. Lots of good music and culture from those times.
Hm. Don't know if I've heard this before! Okay I have heard Girls & Boys. And duh! Blur. I think they have a song on the Trainspotting album. 3 stars
Awwwwe yeah some Lauryn Hill!! I fucking loved the Fugees Score album! This album is great. The outro to Lost ones is cute. Pretty guitar in To Zion. The beats in this are so cool. And the way she flows is so cool! 5 stars for this one. Damn Final Hour hits hard!
Alright! Some good ol fashioned thrash metal! These guys were the pioneers to thrash man! Good stuff. 80s was a good decade for hard-core metal. Fucking LOVE Megadeth!
I'm not fond of his voice. Gabi and Jackson ruined that for me lol They were playing Ace of Spades on guitar hero on time, over and over and over. Whoa are they British!?
I kind of passively listened to this album today while I "worked". It's not their best stuff by any means but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I will give it 4 stars.
Well that sucks! This album is not on Spotify. But I fucking love Maggot Brain by these guys. I'll have to look it up on YouTube. It is on there. I like the name of some of these songs. Groovallegiance, Promentalshitbackwashpychosis, ooooooh and Maggot brain is on this album too. lol Lunchmeataphobia. 5 stars. Pretty unique band!
Well I have enjoyed this album. It's very mellow, and chill. I like the acoustic sound, and the way they harmonize. What these guys are British too? WTF Mate. We'll say 4 stars here.
Alright! Some talking heads! They will always remind me of American Psycho. Read the novel and it mentions them in there. I think they're also on the movie. Listening to this while talking to Kimberly, so a little distracted, because I just fucking love her. I think she may have put a love spell on me LOL But it's been good background noise. Such a unique voice and style. Hard not to recognize them.
Okay well, I hope no one finds out I've got this playing. That's grounds to get your ass kicked! I'll give it a go. Okay first of all why not capitalize any words! That's just stupid. I do like the album cover. It reminds me of Corvallis. I can smell the autumn in that picture. Takes me back to simpler times. Okay it's not terrible. I actually like the second track Champagne Problems.
Some funky soul brotha stuff! Lets go! How wild would it be to have lived in the 70s during the height of the disco ages lol. Very interesting times. I guess I can say I did live 6months of the 70s lol. Pretty alright. Probably wouldn't seek it out again though. But entertaining nonetheless. 3 stars.
Hm I'd never really listened to Stevie Wonder. I like the vibe. He's got a really nice smooth voice. LOL Boogie on Reggae Woman. I like that title. Electric boogie, in its infancy. I like the disco feel on You Haven't Done Nothin. The piano on They Won't Go When I Go is pretty! That was a pretty song. Sound gospelly. Was going to rate it a 3 but then I read up on him a bit. He was pretty much a child prodigy. Got signed with Motown's label Tamla at the age of 11! And had a #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 at 13!
This album is not on Spotify. Found it on YT though. '89 hm....dance type 80's reminds me of what I imagine Paula Abdul sounds like. Yeah very clubby. Hm this track is almost industrial. Lots of funky sounds in some of these tracks, like ringing of phones, and crickets and lots of fun with the synth. Stop this Crazy Thing is catchy. Has some brass in it. Smoke dis one, I like the old school rap sound there. Okay cool stuff but only a 2 in my book for today.
Interesting, Milla Jovovich released her album by the same name 2 yrs earlier. Never heard of Casanova. He's got an interesting style. Reminds me of a 90's modern day Frank Sinatra. lol Lyrics are so nineties. There's a hint of sinister darkness to this. I like it. As obscure as this has been I've been enjoying it. The last track The Dogs & The Horses was actually really pretty. I liked the variety and weirdness in this. I'll give it a 4.
HEHE 12 songs for a total of 28 min. I do love me some Beach Boys. How cool would it have been to grow up on the coast in California? This album came out in 65 hm. I don't see any of their big hits on this one. Oh I guess Help Me Rhonda is on here. Love & Mercy was sure a good movie. I had no idea Brian Wilson went through so much shit because of his agent dude. That last track was cool. Hearing them talking and eating burgers & fries drinking shakes.
I think this might be like the 3rd Radiohead album I've gotten. I really like this one. Nude is a great track. Weird Fishes is soooooo good!! All I Need is great too. Good album! 4 stars
Oh man! 5 stars. I've probably listened to this album one million two hundred and thirty three thousand two hundred and five times. It's a masterpiece of an album and a landmark of an era, not only in the history of music but in my own history as well. This album came out during my junior year of high school and marked a time in my life of clear division from before and after. I'd just moved back to Utah, living with grandma, trying to find myself in a big city. I felt alone a lot of the time, and this album would most definitely be playing on my walkman on my way to school most mornings. I identified with so many of the songs. His lyrical talent in this album is unparalleled to any of his of his albums. The words are just so beautiful and pefectly poetic. 10 stars if I could for this one. I'm so happy I finally got to see them live this year. It was an amazing show, and it was good being able to share that with my son.
Hm, have no idea what to expect coming into this. Never heard of War. Hm first track is groovy. Def has that early 70's sound. There's some Cuban voices in the mix. That was unexpected. Between the album art and the vibe I wold have said these guys were out of New York but I would have been wrong. They're from the LBC. Ooh this second track is good too. Some good jazzy blues solos in there. Great guitar intro on track 3! Kinda diggin this ngl. 4 stars.
hmmmm this is dangerously too closely related to country which I don't do. But I'm committed and will give it an honest listen. Metal heads famous last words. Thank fuck it's only 32 min long. 32 min too long. Okay thank satan that's over. Need to rinse my ears out now with some Behemoth now.
Hm, per the description they're an industrial band? Okay. That would be wonderful, but the beginning of this first track is not very industrial. When i think Industrial I think KMFDM, NIN, Ministry etc. I do love French music though so even if it's not that kind of Industrial I can still dig it. I love that I can understand some of these lyrics. Thanks Duo Lingo. Their Spotify bio says they were pioneers of Industrial Punk so I'm still holding out for something amazing. Oh snap, nearing the end of this track and it's beginning to show promise. lol. Okay this did become exactly what I wanted it to become. I gotta say this is pretty fucking great. We've all heard industrial German bands like KMFDM, and Ramstein, and you'd expect that from German. But French!? French is the love language. So to hear these dark, growly French lyrics is a new experience for me. Refreshing! Super diggin this. I hear some Nitzerebb influences in here as well as Skinny Puppy. This album quickly climbed to 5 stars!!
Why does this name sound so familiar? I can't think of any songs by them but I must have heard them before because it sounds so familiar. Let's check it out! I'm liking it. Giving me The Cure vibes somehow. I like the slow tempo. I'll give it 3 stars.
alright! Some good ol oldies! I didn't finish listening to this whole album but from what I heard, it was a solid album representing some good ol classic oldies.
Oh wow. What an iconic album. I've never heard it from start to finish so this will be a "treat". Get it? cause cake... stupid dad joke. lol looking over the tracks on this album, I only recognize You Can't Always Get What You Want by name. The choir in the beginning of You Can't Always Get What You Want reminds me of Empire of the Sun with Christian Bale, when he was just a boy. Anyways, that was the one and only track on there that I like. I enjoyed the album but still only a 3.
The 60's were such an iconic time in music history. Interesting how a decade can shape an entire genre of music. Would have been a great time to be alive. Expecting to Fly is pretty. i'm actually enjoying this album more than yesterdays Rolling Stones š I like how there are stark contrasts from one song to the next. Sometimes an album can seem too monotonous. This one called Good Time Boy has a distinct blues funk sound to it. The vocals is a different guy too. So it breaks up the album. I'm liking this so far though. 4 Stars.
Don't what to expect here... Sounds like experimental guitar. Some Senegalese singing. Hmmm... We'll see how long I can last with this one. At times it reminds me of this song from The Natural Born Killers. Taboo. Yeah couldn't hang. Sorry Baaba and Mansour
92' electronic. okay. I know John super loves this band. I'm familiar with them but haven't ever really listened to them much. So far it's been nice background music. Track 4 just started. Ageispolis. It's the tune that Die Antwoord stole for their Ugly Boy song. Meh, it was okay. I'll give it a 3
Didn't get a chance to listen to this on Friday. So listening now. oooooh I like it! I this guys voice. And the style is just so soul! I love it! Had to play If You Need Me a couple times. Make that 3 times. I'm going to add that to my karaoke list. In fact I should expand my voice styles. I'll be looking into doing more mo town type songs. This was a great album!!
Hm never heard of these guys before. Let's see what they're all about. Dig it so far! Has almost a Joy Division sound as far as the music goes but mixed with the voices it gives it a modern day sound like Dope Lemon. Okay the second track does sound more 80s. HA! Elizabeth My Dear was to the tune of Scarborough Fair. This has been an interesting listen. I like the variety of sounds from one song to the next. This Is the One has a good intro. 4 stars
Never really got into Elton John. I mean I like the songs I do know of his, just don't ever really actively seek him out. This first track is 11 minutes long. It's called a funeral for a friend. Sounds cool. wow, 1973! Bennie And The Jets is on this album. Nice. The song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road just came on. I love this song. I never realized it was Elton John though WTF?! lol. It was aight. I give it 3 stars.
Today is a dark cloudy rainy day, and this album fits the vibe just right. I've heard of Bryan Adams but not Ryan Adams. Didn't know what kind of music it was. It's a little close to country but not quite. I like the acoustic guitar sound throughout. It's kinda depressing. hahaha Don't think I would ever revisit this. 2 stars.
Frank Zappa is the frontman of this band? I thought I recognized that stache! lol "a satirical expression of his perception of American pop culture and the nascent freak scene of Los Angeles" didn't listen to the whole thing but from what I heard. it's not my fav.
I'm gonna have to listen to this AFTER my Release Radar, as it starts with REZZ! And maybe not actually. It's not on Spotify. I might have to find it on youtube later.
This album was quite revolutionary. The track "Fuck tha Police" drew an FBI agent's warning letter, which aided N.W.A's notoriety, with N.W.A calling itself "the world's most dangerous group." LOL. I used to not like rap very much. I totally blame being raised in such a prominent white area with SOOO much racism. But over the last decade or so I have learned to appreciate SOME. I listened to Eminem yesterday on my bike ride. That mother fucker is hella talented!! The movie that came out in 2015 about this album gave me a lot more insight into the history of this album. In spite of all the hype around this I'm only feeling 2 stars. Okay there were a few good songs there towards the end. I got a giggle out of the last track A Bitch Iz A Bitch LOL 3 stars then.
hmmm another Elton John... Awwwe this is the album that has Tiny Dancer. Always reminds me of Almost Famous. I know he was a huge deal, but I'm just not feeling it. I liked the first and last track. 2 stars
Hm, never really gave these guys a fair chance. And I think i've only ever heard what they play on the radio. This first track, Time To Pretend, I never really listened to words before. I love the lyrics in this track!! Especially "I'll miss the playgrounds And the animals and digging up worms" that seems to capture the carefree childhood in a nutshell. Meh, the album was alright. 3 stars I guess. and that's being generous.
I like this album. The lyrics are silly and the music is chill and all different one to the other. The track that's titled the same as the album is really good. Her name is Yoshimi, she's a black belt in karate. Working for the city she has to discipline her body.. I like the dreamlike vibe this track has. In The Morning of the Magicians. "As the dawn began to break I had to surrender. The universe will have its way. Too powerful to master." this album has been like a magical trip through some fantastic world of theirs. Dream like, ethereal, and visionary. 4 stars!
Was gonna say I don't know any Billy Joes songs. But the first track on this album is Movin Out. Had no idea that was him. Oh yeah Just the Way You Are. Only the Good Die Young. I know this one too. Whaaaa She's Always a Woman... wow I guess I do know some Billy Joel...
Wow if this was not a trip down memory lane. Right to the turn of the millennium. Gotta love Linkin Park.
1994, the year right before I moved here again from Montana. What an awkward time of my life that was. Creep was definitely still playing on the radio when I came in 95. I almost died that year. Tried killing myself by jumping out in front a car one morning on my way to school. It was still dark, but I remember it so vividly. I tried so hard to time it just right, and then was even more depressed to know that I couldn't even kill myself right. Looking back now, I'm glad I didn't succeed. I'm grateful for every day I wake up to a new sunrise. I'm grateful for every experience I've had since then. All the good the bad and the ugly. Teenagers are so stupid. lol
What a great album this is. I'm already rating it a 5 because I've heard it many a times before. Paranoid Android is so cool. The progression of the humming part is great. Subterranean Homesick Alien is great too. whoa can't believe I spelled that word right. Subterranean. lol They're all great. Exit Music (For a Film) is amazing! Yep just as amazing as all the other times I've listened to it. 5 stars
WOW! 2 back to back 5 stars albums?? Can't say enough of this album. 1995 was an epic year. And of course I can't ever hear this without thinking of Amanda. Those were the golden years. So many memories come flooding back of those day when I hear this. Hard to believe it's already been 28yrs!!
1969 What an amazing year. Could you imagine being at Woodstock!? Never heard of these guys. LMAO! The second track is titled, "Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitney" That track was actually pretty cool. They do these vocals that sound like a harmonica or kazoo. Lot of funk and soul to this album. Oh shit! Everyday People. I've definitely heard this song before. I'll give this 3 stars. Didn't hate, didn't love it.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeit!! 5 Stars baby without a doubt! LOVE Led Zeppelin! This was the second LZ album I owned. This one was a CD Got it while I was living with Brock and Matt. Actually maybe I had it before then. The first one was when I was a kid! It was a cassette It was Led Zeppelin IV. I remember driving around Pinesdale jammin to Stairway to Heaven. Good shit man. Arturo was just a little boy, I remember getting him to sing along :) Babe I'm Gonna Leave You is such a beautiful song the guitar the lyrics. Such an incredible band. The fucking troves of treasure they left the masses, is unparalleled. Oh man at the end of You Shook Me when Robert Plant and Jimmy Page go back and forth with vocals and guitar, echoing each other. So epic!! John Bonham on Dazed and Confused. His drumming is immaculate! Fuck the blues rock marriage in their style is so fucking awesome! Its a shame this album is only 44 min long. And just like that it's over. 5 stars!!
Never heard of these guys. Hm Scottish electronic duo. Distinctive style of electronica, featuring vintage synthesisers, degraded analogue production, found sounds and samples, and hip hop-inspired rhythms. Could make for some great background music today. I wonder if I'll recognize any of these. i'm digging the dissonance of these tracks. Interesting album art too. A faceless family, in the late 60's. Could possibly be Mt. Fuji. I was wrong. The album cover is a modified version of a family photo taken at Banff Springs in Alberta, Canada. According to Sandison, "If there's sadness in the way we use memory, it's because the time you're focusing on has gone foreverā¦ It's a theme we play on a lot, that bittersweet thing where you face up to the fact that certain chapters of your life are just Polaroids now."
Didn't have a chance to listen yesterday. So I'll go through a few songs this morning. Sweet Emotion is on here. That always reminds me of Dazed and Confused. Oh and Walk This Way.
Tim Buckley, huh? Well let's see what we've got here. Blues-y. Deceiving voice. I like it I'm tempted to give it a 4 but then I'd feel bad giving some of the past albums a 3. I feel like the 70s was a time when a lot of experimental stuff came out and was being explored. This is nothing short of that lol Especially the end of Devil Eyes. lol
oh fuck yeah! Some Jimmy! 5 Stars goes without saying!
Hey, I've been practicing an REM song. Everybody Hurts. It's not a hard song. The only technical part it has is the "Don't throw your hand, oh no" part. Never heard this album before. REM was one of those bands for me that defined the grunge era. There's just a certain sound to them that reminds me of when I was coming into my awareness of music and discovering my own tastes. And to clarify, it's specifically the voice. 3 stars
Oh fuck yeah! I always forget about hole but they too had a very definitive style and sound I mean hell she was Kurt Cobains GF! and I can see her nipples lol. BOOOOOBS! HAHAHA The first track, Celebrity Skin I've definitely heard a ton on the radio. 4 stars
This is an interesting band. Super funky and the album art is hilarious. Yo what the fuck they have a track on here called Renegades of Funk. Did Beastie Boys cover this track?? I thought that was their own original song. Well half way through that track now and I don't think it's anything like the beastie boys song. HAHAHA I'm retarded I meant Rage Against the Machine this whole time. lol Who You Funkin With. I like that title.
PJ Harvey hold one of those special places in my heart that reminds me of the peak of grunge. I love how her voice music has that sinister vibe to it. Dark and Evil. There's also some Patti Smith vibes in her style. Oh cool one of their songs features Thom Yorke. This Mess We're In. That was good. I guess I'll give it 4 stars.
Hm, I thought this would be like oldies type music. I think I confused him with someone else. I like this though. Short songs! 13 tracks and only 36 min long. I've really enjoyed the simple genuine rock an roll of this album! Lead guitar, bass, drums, and vocals! Just pure organic music. 4 stars
Oh fuck yeah! I didn't realize this album had so many hits. I never heard the whole thing through. I'm diggin it. I've kind of been distracted with work and paying bills and updating my budget spreadsheet so I haven't been 100% tuned in. But I've looked over to Spotify to see what the name of songs have been when something catches my attention. I recognized Wave of Mutilation, Here Comes Your Man, and Monkey Gone to Heaven so far. 5 stars
Not sure what to expect here, never heard of them. They sound like Oasis. There were several great songs here. I really enjoyed the slow acoustic melancholy vibe this album had. 4 stars.
What is this shit? A play? it's been a little funky I don't know what to really think about it. I like that it's so unique. Almoost experimenta.. I like the variety of instruments. the lyrics are definitely unique as well. Almost kind of eerie in a way. Reminds me of Mealoaf a bit. I'm not thinking this deserves more than 3 stars.
I could use some latino rap today. Sure. 1991, damn I was only 12. I'm really liking this album actually. I only ever listened to Black Sunday. I like it for all the spanish references and latino rappers :P Loved it. 4 stars
I didn't get around to listening to this Friday, so I'll put it on now. Oh man I imediately fell in love with I'll Hold You In My Heart. Man I like this album. I love his voice, and the lyrics of loss and heart ache and love.. OH! In The Ghetto is on this album. I guess I have also heard Suspicious Minds. What a great album. Almost cried several times.
whoa 2hrs! okay...Oh shit My Sweet Lord I know this one. Didn't know it was him. I've heard What Is Life. I always thought it was the Beatles. It was good, a little long and all too similar. Got halfway through the second disc. 3 stars.
Meh, I mean who doesn't like to listen to Born in the USA on Fourth of July, but the rest of the album, was too country sounding for me. Dancing in the Dark and I'm on Fire were the only 2 other songs on there that I'd heard. 2 stars.
This album was great! Love punk!
This was a wonderful album to have as background music. The title fits it perfectly! I could see this playing in a soundtrack to a movie with lots of rain and break up.
I wasn't really into TBB back in the day but over the years. I've really grown to like them. This album is pretty fucking dope!
OMG I can't tell you how many times I've listened to Shine on You Crazy Diamond. It was basically my go to when I would feel too crazy and thinking way too much. It would help to hone me in for a while. even if just for a few minutes. There was peace. However, I don't think I've listened to the whole album. Oh, just kidding I totally have. What a masterpiece of a song though. The way it eases into it so mystically and then the progression and buildup. It's incredible!! 5 stars!!
I like this oldies Soul sound... Never heard of him before though. Maybe I'll recognize some of the songs. Wow according to the wiki, he was a big influence on Elvis and the Beetles! There were 6 tracks not available on Spotify but I'm going to find them on YouTube. I liked it. What a time for music. 5 stars
The album consists of four compositions created by layering tape loops of differing lengths, and was designed to be continuously looped as a sound installation, with the intent of defusing the tense, anxious atmosphere of an airport terminal. Interesting. Could be some good background music for today then. Well it's definitely an Ambient sound. It's very peaceful and relaxing.
Tapestry has been certified 14Ć Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in the US, and has sold an estimated 25 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. DAMN! I like the picture on the album cover. Seeing pictures of the 70s makes me think that that's the time my mom and dad were probably dating. Simpler times. When connections with people were done in analog. lol. I wonder if I'll know any of the songs on this album. Oh sure enough! So Far Away. It's too Late! Of course...You've Got a Friend...Will You Love Me Tomorrow..Marisol sings this sometimes but I think it might be a cover that she sings. You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman too? Damn! I can see why this album got so much hype.I wouldn't seek this out on my own. I can only give it a 3 though
OH Shit, not a single bad track on this album. Can't say enough about how much I love this album. Either way 5 stars!
ahhhhh yeah!! Do love me this album as well!! I first heard about it from JRE when he had Dominic Monaghan on as guest. I remember hearing that the language spoken in these songs are just made up. Staralfur is pretty. As much as I like still only gonna give it a 4
Hmm having a hard time getting into this. No song has been very catchy know real melodies. Voice sounds like Neil Diamond so that's nice and the lyrics are sweet. just all kinda sound the same. meh, 1.5 stars! So I'll be nice and go with 2 stars.
Hmm, never heard of these blokes. (I'm guessing they're Brittish) I was right. The voice sounds a bit like Violent Femmes.
Didn't think I'd know any songs on this album. But I've definitely heard the first one many times. Band on the Run. It's weird how The Beatles each went and did their own thing. It was okay. Some good stuff in there for sure but not more than 3 stars.
Well Neil Young made it pretty clear that he didn't want be on Spotify, so it's a real bummer that I couldn't hear this. I hope the sarcasm is coming through there a bit. I'm not fond of his music.
Uhhhhh 100 stars. Hands down. The thrash metal gods!!! I was still living in Montana when I first heard this album. I remember very distinctly being in the back of Justin's suv..I think it was a Blazer?? can't remember but we were going to a party somewhere in the mountains and he had this tape playing the whole way. Such a great album all the way through, every song is incredible! If I have the chance to catch these guys live before they stop performing I would pay stupid money...I think they are actually on tour right now. But the closest they come is Denver? I'll have to look it up. Anyways, like I said 100 stars if I could but 5 will have to do.
The Monkeys! Funny how there were lots of bands named after animals back then, The Monkeys, The Turtles, The Beatles, etc.
Never heard of this album. But it was born the same year as me. She sounds like alot of the 80's female artists like Cindy Lauper and Pat Benatar. I like the synths in this first song. Reminds me of Giorgio Moroder. Actually did kinda like this album. Especially the last one. I think I'll give it 3 stars.
I enjoyed the album. I'd of course heard Strange Brew and Sunshine Of Your Love. I like SWLABR and Outside Woman Blues as well as Mother's Lament. 3 stars.
Hmm I had some notes in here from Friday but I guess I didn't save them first. I think it was something along the lines of, I like Queen but never heard this album before. The March of the Black Queen was my favorite.
Sure I've listened to Simon and Garfunkle and even Graceland by Paul Simon. Mom used to have the cassette tape. But only to that extent on Paul Simon. I was surprised to hear a reggae beat on the first track here Mother and Child Reunion. What a fitting track, since I was thinking about mom with this artis. The acoustic guitar is nice on the second track AND it has what sound like Andean flutes! I like this so far. The words are good too. Oh I guess I'd heard Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard. I really enjoyed this album. 4 stars!
I listened but I was distracted trying to do stupid ServiceNow stuff. Nothing really caught my ear. 3 stars.
Lots of their songs on this album talk of seasons. Funny that Time of the Season is one of their biggest hits. That just happened to be on this album as well and itās such a great song so just for that Iāll give this 4 stars.
OK the only time Iāve even ever heard this name was through a Bloodhound Gang a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is crying. This is straight up country. Iām not gonna be able to do this one. Sorry. One star.
I donāt know man thereās something about his voice that I just canāt get get into. I know I know unpopular opinion Iām sure. And donāt you think he looks like fucking Adam Sandler?? 2 stars
I didnāt listen to this on Christmas Day but it sure was a perfect day for it. Iām sure it was lovely. Donāt really know what to rate here since itās a Christmas theme. I guess 4.
Hmmm the first song is called āCountry Songāā¦. But itās not. Letās see what this is all about. Never heard of these guys but Iām quite enjoying it. Definitely has that 80s sound. Britt 80s.
The Theā¦ have I heard anything by these guys? Seeet bird of truth was kinda cool. I like the sinister type vibe in a few of these tracks.
This is not my type of music but I can appreciate the overall theme of black honor. Still only gonna give it 2 stars.
Ah yeah. The Doors. When used try to be a hippie I would listen to these guys a lot. Iāll never forget the time we were doing acid at Adamās and he put on the doors and The End came on. In my fucked up religious brought up brain I thought the song was me telling them goodbye. And I up and left trippin balls and went back home. I got lost driving in my truck. Pulled into a persons driveway to turn around. And they thought I was being suspicious so they called the police. I finally found my way home. I was living with Marisa at the time. And then I got a visit from the police. lol that fucking sucked!! But this album kicks ass. 5 stars!
meh, I do like Rush but this wasn't mind blowing.
I'm kinda liking the vibe of this album. Kinda dreamy and ethereal. Cheerleader was really good.
I'm liking this album. It has that great sound of the 60s for sure. Haven't heard any of the songs before so far.
Well since Neil Young refuses to be on Spotify I refuse to look it up on you tube. lol Plus I don't think I even like his stuff very much.
Oh fuck yes!! I could use some Led in my diet today!! This is the first Led Zeppelin album I had. It was a cassette tape. I remember listening to it on the boombox mom got me for my 8th grade graduation gift. I'd listen to it in the car too. I remember having Arturo sind along with me in the car to Stairway to Heaven. Fuck, When the Levee Breaks is so good. 5 stars!
Aright!! Some RHCP! Omg this whole time I've been sayin "with the blood that's shed" on Scar Tissue, instead of "with the birds I'll share" Had the lyrics pulled up and noticed that. Lots of hits on this album. I hadn't ever heard the album all the way through I don't think. I really liked Porcelain. Road Trippin' caught my attention as well. Great album! 5 stars
Awesome! Never heard of these guys but I like it already. Hell yeah that first track is great! Can't believe I never knew of these guys. This album was great! I loved the angst in it, the long solos, and the feel of the 90s throughout. and John was right definitely has some Janes Addiction type feels to it. 4 Stars!
Never heard these guys before but I'm actually really liking the sound. That was pretty good but only 3 stars.
Iām digging this funk! š givin me that little bounce at the gym! I feel like Iāve heard Give up the funk. Super catchy. Probably the best track so far. 3 stars.
WHAAAAAA ugh 5 stars!!! Man that brought back a lot of memories. I love this album.
I had no idea what to expect here. Ragae? Rap? hip hoppy. It was pretty good!
Some 60s rock! alright. Very interesting name for a band and album. I like that the first 3 tracks all sound different from one another. Little Girl in the 4th Row has some Beach Boys vibes, and the second a bit of Johnny Cash. Oh shit! I'm Not Your Stepping Stone! I've heard this! Melody for an Unknown Girl is pretty too.
That's funny Autumn just mentioned these guys the other day! oh wow! It has been cited as a key influence on a number of succeeding post-punk, noise rock and alternative rock acts, including Joy Division, Killing Joke, the Cure, Big Black, Sonic Youth, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Faith No More and Massive Attack. That's crazy. Just for that it deserves 5 stars
hmmm not very familiar with The Who. This first track is quite interesting. I may not get to hear all of this. This album is 3 and a half hours!! Yeah I'm not digging this very much. I'm going to have to give it 2 stars.
oh man I really love Nina. There's something so beautiful and unique about her voice! Four Women was pretty and so is What More Can I Say?. Oooh Lilac Wine it good too.
I think the only one I've heard on this album is Tom Sawyer but we'll see. Oh I lied, Limelight i've def heard too. The camera eye is almost 11 min long! Meh it was alright. 3 stars
I could totally get into some Eminem this morning! Dido, is so cool. Stan samples the intro to her Thank You song. And Faithless used her a ton in their music. For being a guy who doesn't typically like rap, I really do like Eminem. He's so talented in my opinion. 5 stars.
I love the opening to Welcome to the Jungle. I really like this old 80 rock sound. There's something so nostalgic about it. I think I would have had a lot of fun if I were born just 10 yrs earlier 4 stars.
I've never listened to any other album of New Order except for Substance. Which apparently is 2 yrs older than this one. I feel like I've maybe heard Round and Round. I'm really liking this album. 5 Stars. I liked the vibe of the whole album and the nostalgic feelings it brought back.
Yeah I jibed with the whole album. Another 5 stars.
I'll have to finish listening to this later. Didn't have time today. I love this album for the nostalgia. It brings a few good tracks on it. Overall I think 4 stars.
Yeah diggin this shit. Reminds of Craig from Park Lane the cook. So sad he died. :/ But not before making me a super cool mixed tape with a bunch of cool punk songs like from these guys, and black flag, circle jerks etc. Good shit. he's the one who showed me Pulp Fiction first I think. At gmas lol 4 Stars
Okay David. Let's do this. Damn 1975, wasn't even born yet! I didn't get to listen to the whole thing today but I think I'll rate it a 3 I don't hate it but I don't love it.
Alright! some of the pioneers of thrash metal! I kinda need this in my life today. This is my favorite part of the Wiki The album was also controversial, particularly in the United States, due to the religious references in its artwork and the title track's lyrics. Sensitive jezus freaks! Which is so funny to me because there are so many more bands and music now that is 100 times worse in that regard. This is actually quite mellow honestly lol! Well definitely diggin this album. Not too fond of the operatic type vocals but it's a signature sound to Iron Maiden. It was good, not quite a 5 though. 4 stars!
Oh Nick Drake. I think he's got a song on the Garden State soundtrack. Yep One of These Things First. But it's not on this album. Just recognized his voice. I don't know not really my bag. I'm giving it a 3.
I always did like Tears for Fears... 4 stars.
hmm not sure what to expect here..but the picture looks like homie's getting a blow job lol Never heard this guy before. But kinda diggin it. Reminds me of a better time, a simpler time. A time when people had modesty and manners. Even though it's twangy like country, it's old enough to where I wouldn't really call it country. Reminds me of Elvis. Honky Tonk is the right word. 3 stars.
Oh shit, both It's The End of the World As We Know It, and The One I Love are on this album!
Hmm this is pretty cool! I like the upbeat vibe, and how the 70s feel is still there, and noticeable. Like Brazilian Disco. lol it's interesting how such happy people can come from a country so poor and in distress.
Didn't get a chance to hear this on Friday, so I'll listen now. It's only 34 min. Pretty cool that he would go to prisons to play. Walk the Line is on this! Giving prisoners some cheer in there. What a G. LOL all the prisoners booing the guards.
T-Rex.. why do I feel like I should know this artist? I like it. Sounds kinda like oldies and rock mashed together. Hm, the most popular song on spotify by him is Bang a Gong, which is also on this album. So we'll see if I recognize it. I did not recognize it. BUT now I know why he sounded familiar! Quentin Tarantino used the song Jeepster in Death Proof!! Thanx Quentin. Oh! Get it on! I know that one too. meh, 3 stars.
The first time I heard these guys was on The Crow soundtrack. Snakedriver. But other than that I don't think I've heard anything else from them. I'm enjoying it. It's got good energy. I'm leaning towards 4 stars here. Yeah this was a good album!
I don't know what to expect here with these guys. 1 minute into the first track and I don't even know what genre this is. Interesting. So far all lyricless. It's made for some good background noise. it's a little different but I like different. Hm, Portishead Remix on Planet D. I had to watch/listen to Wilmot on youtube. That's definetely the one with the most substance. I'll listen some more at the gym. But I'm giving this one 3.
Ah the Ramones. Good stuff here. Pioneers in the punk era. So influential to so many others that came after them. Funny to think that these guys were considered controversial, they seem so mellow and innocent compared to what there is now in terms of controversial. I did finish the album. Good stuff. I'm torn between 4 and 5...
Well this album is pretty fucking dope. I really like muse. And especially this album. Was telling Kimberly..."I'll never forget the first time I heard Knights of Cydonia on the radio for the first time. My friend had bought a house and we were redoing the tiles on the floor, I was on my hands and knees with a tile remover and it came on. I instantly loved it. " Just takes me back to those times. I think I had burned a copy of this for Alicia too. I'm giving it 5 stars.
All in all the album is great, but not as good as Nevermind or Unplugged. Tourettes was a good one.
Oh boy.... I don't know if I can do this album. I'll give it a try but not promising anything. Especially after the whole Super Bowl news. Okay, this first track is kinda catchy. Yeah sorry can't do this. 1 star. Gonna put on some real 80s music.
Block Rockin Beats is good, and Where do I begin, I mean a lot of them are good. I like this mainly because of the times it reminds me of in the mid to late 90s. Those were very special times for me in my life. I'll give it a 4 for those reasons. The songs aren't particularly stellar.
Dr. John huh? Never heard of this. It's funny there's a Dr. John's lingerie and sex toy store. Says it is a hybrid of New Orleans R&B and psychedelia. Oh 1968, looked kinda 90s for a minute. Well at least it's only 33 min. meh, it wasn't horrid but...2 stars
Oh man, Eruption is so good! I remember hearing it first on Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure. And the intro to Aint Talkin 'Bout Love I heard first on a 2 Live Crew song. Lots of bangers on this album! That was entertaining for sure! 5 Stars
The singers voice is really pretty. I am enjoying this a bunch. I don't mind some disco here and there. That's one of the things I like most about music. Is how it can capture the essence of a time you know. SHIT that reminds me of my dream last night. I was in this OLD VW bug and bus, and was telling Joe how cool it is to be in an old car like that and only play music from its time lol. There was a lot more to the dream but that's the part that was relevant for this. The remixes at the end were great too. 4 stars.
The name sounds real familiar...I just read the wiki thing on it. Relax is probably the one I've heard most if it's the one I'm thinking. Yeah it's definitely the same band. They finally started singing. Reminds me slightly of Oingo Boingo. That second track was 13min! I like how it has kind of a dark goth feel to it. Relax is on now. I'm really enjoying this Album Generator thing. I've been exposed to sooooo many bands and so much music I never would have otherwise played. The Ballad of 32 is cool. Just instrumental but vey Floyd like. I like that the singer was openly gay in a time when it wasn't completely supported yet. There's a overall sexual tone to the whole album. I guess 4 stars on this one.
Hm, sounds countryish. Yeah sorry, can't get into this. 1 star.
Hm some R&B Jazz. I can dig this. It was nice relazing music in the background. Smooth and romantic. 3 stars.
The Pogues, had it not been for homie who died last year, I would not have know these guys. The christmas song he did about new york was cool. And since it is now March, fitting band to kick off the month. Oh and that song is on this album! I like the sound of the flute in this. Apparently it's called a tin whistle. But yeah the tin whistle and banjo unmistakable sound of Irish music. Metropolis is cool! with the brass in there. I was suprised how diverse the songs were in this album. I rather enjoyed it. It was very upbeat and happy. 4 stars.
well this is the first album that's after 2000 that I've had for a while. I've definitely heard these guys' name before, but could not name a single song right off the top of my head...I like this sound. Reminds me of something that would have been on Scott Pilgrim. Honestly I very much liked the griminess to this album, feel guilty not having rated others as highly but this was a great album start to finish. 5 stars.
The acoustic sounds are very nice. The lyrics are cool too. Meh.. I donāt know what it is about āsong writersā that I donāt like. And what kind of a genre is that anyway? 2 stars.
Meh, I didn't really listen to the whole thing. Hommie has some good flute skills for sure, no doubt about that. It's cool to hear someone jam out on the flute like he does. It was alright. Nothin I would put on of my own will again. The first track is the only one I can remember hearing before. I know some people really like him. It def has that 70 rock sound to it though so there's that..3 stars.
The King of the desert blues singers huh? Should be pretty cool. meh, lost interest pretty quickly. Sorry hommie. 2 stars.
Yayyyyy Bjork!! I never owned this album but I am definitely familiar with 3 songs on here. I'm excited to hear this all the way through.
I lked it. I was really mellow and smooth. Maybe a 3.5 so I'll go with 4
Well this was a treat, it was great to switch up the vibe with these oldies. I loved it. It was hard NOT to hear sounds from some of their other more popular songs, like My Girl, Aint no Mountain High enough etc. 5 stars
Arrested Development...what am I getting into here. Well I guess you can't judge an album by it's cover I thought it was going to be traditional African music. But no it's like funky hip hop music. OH! I had heard Mr. Wendal before. Oh shit, I remember hearing Tennesse! Gonna give this one a 3
oh! something modern. Mr. Brightside is on this! This song hits the feels for me. When Wendy worked here, she and I got super close. Like really close. She is drop dead gorgeous. I was so extremely flattered that she would ever even give me the chance. I tell my wife all the time I could have had a chance with her. Marisol and I were going through some serious turbulence. Anyways long story short. Because of my situation, married with children, I missed my opportunity to Ryan. He came along and stole her away from me, got married and the rest is history. So that song is almost a perfect narration of that situation between the 3 of us at the park city cabin during that christmas party. Wow this album came out in 2004?? It's as old as Gabi! I remember Somebody Told Me playing at Tire Factory all the time. All The Things That I've Done is also on this!? Wow. lots of hits on this one. I never really listened to these guys by choice, only what ever was played on the radio. But they're pretty good! I'm enjoying this album and the memories it's brought. Giving this 5 stars. Everything Will Be Alright, is really good. Has some strong The Shins vibes.
hmmm 2 hrs of this? We'll see how long I last. There some decent songs on there. But I'm only giving it a 3. The whole second disk is a little funky .
This sounds cool. I like the bongos, and the Cuban sound to it. oooh this is definitely hitting my roots nerve. Not that I'm from Cuba but just that nice latin sound. Oh wow! I'm definitely going to have to keep this in my arsenal for cooking music. I can't believe I never heard of this before. Came out the year I graduated from HS. 5 stars for sure!! Love it!
I've only ever heard what has been on the radio from these guys. This album is so different from what I've heard. Pretty good stuff.
It blows my mind how young Jimmy was. He was 27 when he died. Which means all his music was done in his early mid 20s. He just sounds so much older and experienced. I don't think I've ever listened to a Jimmy Hendrix album. Just his more popular songs. WTF I just learned that Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison also died at the age of 27! and both Jimmy and Janis died in 1970, Jim in 1971, and all their names start with a J? crazy! oooh Little Wing has an awesome intro. 4 stars
This was an interesting album. I wasn't terribly impressed with it. But I didn't hate it. I liked the wide range of styles and sounds. But nothing was really catchy. There were a couple that sounded dark and industrially but they were mediocre. 3 stars.
I don't think I could do this album today lol I'm just not a fan of Bob Dylan man, can't get over the VOICE!!! Sorry Bob. 2 stars.
awwww I love this first song! The Girl from Ipanema. Oh man I really like the Bossa Nova sound. 5 Stars.
I think this is the first 2Pac album I get. Super diggin this album! 1995. I was just transitioning to Utah from Montana when this came out. I was tainted by all the racism in Montana, so I feel like I was always ridiculed for liking rap and therefore didn't really hear as much as I would have otherwise. But I do like this so far. I really like the Jamaican Patois in Heavy in the Game. He's got a pretty unique flow and sound. Ah man, Dear Mama is so good. 5 stars
I mean it was okay. TBH I only listened passively but it was pretty. Great voice, and I liked the mood, and energy. I'll give it a 4 and that's being generous.
Oh fuck yeah! What a great album! I love the sadness of the album. It's a perfect soundtrack to a rainy day. Just like today happens to be. I love it front it to back. I've listened to this multiple times. 5 Stars!
awe shit 2 back to back 5 star albums!!! Something so dark and gothic about this album that is so hypnotic. 5 Stars
Oh Nick Drake... pretty sure this guy has a song or 2 on The Garden State soundtrack. Which coincidentally enough we listened to yesterday. Yep, One Of These Things First. And that is on this album. Crazy that this album is from 1970. I thought all the songs on that soundtrack were modern. It was okay. I am not feeling that good today and the slow mellow vibe was nice. But still only 2 stars.
Awwwwe yeah. Some Kid Rock. Let's go!! good shit. I love the unique rock rap here. Good catchy lyrics and bass lines. hehe Welcome 2 the Party reminds me of 2 live crew, the lyrics as well as the sound/style. OH yeah!! Only God Knows Why is a good slow jam. Loved it! Honestly that may have been the first time I heard the whole thing front to back. 5 stars
Hm Van Morrison...do I even know any of his songs? Guess we'll see. Why do I think this is the singer from the doors. Oh haha Jim Morrison. Oh yeah Brown Eyed Girls, of course! But it's not on this album it looks like. Meh, it was alright. Nothing that stood out to me much. It was a bit monotonous, I don't know what it is about "song writers" that I just can't get into. oh well. 2 stars.
Neh it was alright. 3 stars.
I like the Go Go's never really listened to them before though. Just what ever was played on the radio. 4 stars.
I remember having an Eagles album back in the day. They're alright. There was 3 or 4 songs. I don't know that I would put them on by choice though. 3 stars.
I'd never heard of these guys before but I gotta say I really enjoyed this album. I honestly expected it to be dub like raggae dub. But then seeing the year 1978 I thought that was too early for dub. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was almost like experimental punk or something. Lots of Talking Heads vibes but what I liked most about it was the sinister vibe through out. I'll give this one 4 stars. Listening to this a second time actually lol only cause I was kind of distracted the first time through
Not sure what to expect here, let's give it a whirl. Wiki says they're a canadian indie rock band...they kind of remind me of The Shins. It was good. 3 stars
Awe I love this last song, In Your Eyes. Just for that I'll give it a 3 it was mid. lol
Man, this album...1999. What an interesting year that year was. Porcelain is such a pretty song. Why Does My Heart Feel so Bad.. another beautiful song on here. Such a great album here. 5 stars.
Never heard of Thin Lizzy. Unfortunately only a few songs from this album were available but I wasn't too fond of what I heard. Maybe an unfair rating but. 2 stars.
I never really gave David Bowie a chance. Outside of Labyrinth. lol Well so far, I've recognized, Changes, and Life and Mars? It was a pretty decent album. But only 3 stars from me.
Hmmmm, jazz? Never heard of this guy let's see what the Wiki says before I even start listening. Singer-songwritter...Don't have much hope for this one. Luckily it's only 38 min. Yeah this album sucks lol I rarely give 1 star but this one is getting it. :/ I need some Ministry to cleanse my ears after that! lol
I think I may have had one of these guys' albums before. Nope. I guess not. Funny, one of the last songs on the David Bowie album, was Andy Warhol. I'm enjoying this album! I feel like I'm listening to different artists with each song. This one called Venus in Furs has a definite 60s sound but it reminds me of The Doors. Heroin reminded me of Bob Dylan for some reason. I really liked this album. Especially I'll Be Your Mirror. I sent it to Kimberly. 4 stars wish we could de half stars. It would have been 4.5.
Listened to this on the way to Henderson, in the U-Haul. I loved it!
Recognized Iggy Pop right away. I didn't know he was The Stooges too! lol I did enjoy the album. 4 stars. This gave way to punk! and I'm all about that.
Hmm I don't think I know The Auteurs...Brit alt rock. Pretty good so far. It was good, I was going to give it a 3 but I'll bump it up to a 4
Hey Maxi Jazz sung about her! I'll have to finish listening tomorrow. Very 80s that's for sure. Reminds me of Whitney Houston or something. There's only 4 tracks on this album that I can listen to on Spotify. It was alright. I'll give it a 3
Now we talking! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Coldpay! Don't know if I've given this album an honest listen all the way through though. Oh shit, the first song is the one from Garden State. Don't Panic. What a great soundtrack that is. 5 stars.
hmmm if you asked me to name a Steely Dan song I could not for the life of me. But I totally know this first song Do It Again. Interesting album cover art. Seems ahead of its time. Totally have heard Dirty Work too. Reelin' In The Years of course I've heard that. So that's 3 already so far. Overall it was a good album. 3.5...I'll give it a 4
Decent album. A Forrest is def my fav from here. I wasn't especially moved by it though. I'll give it a 3.
oooooh Killing Joke!! TBH The only song I know from them is Millenium. Which is a bad ass song!! super diggin this album, it's like early punk and also a little bit of like joy division tones maybe? I love this. 5 stars
I only know of Nick Drake because of Garden State. But I do like him. I mean it was okay... I don't mind listening to this on a lazy sunday morning or something but. It's only getting 3 stars from me.
Do I know Nightmares on Wax? The name sounds familiar. It was nice, mainly instrumental with a dub kind of sound.
Another David Bowie album....I think this is the 3rd one. Oh this one is way newer. 2016. I like the sinister feel to the first track. That sinister vibe persists through out! Black Star is getting 3 stars.
fuck yes!! Love this album!! 5 stars!! Man, this album had so much attitude, pure gold all the way through absolutely loved it.
Well now, another gem all the way through front to back boy does this take me back to the glory days of my life 5 stars!!!
I do like me some Leonard Cohen. I think the face on the cover looks like Jack Nicholson.
Funny how you can tell right away what decade music is from. This is very 60s. I don't think I've ever heard Iron Butterfly. Interesting so far. Nothing earth shattering. But I do like the sound. OH! the song by the same name of the album.In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida I've heard before.
I'm not a huge fan of Bob Dylan. And here's another singer who looks like an actor. This one Adam Sandler. First song is good Like a Rolling Stone. meh 2 stars
5 stars!! I love this album. So many big songs on here. And that Love and Mercy movie! very good! I only got to track 14. So I'll finish tomorrow. What a great album!
Well that's crazy. We went from the Beach Boys to Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. lol. I don't think I've ever heard any of his solo stuff. This album came out in 2004!? This first track is pretty. Just acapello. This will be interesting. Heroes and Villains is on this album a song featured on Fantastic Mr. Fox. Recognized it right away. There were definitely some very interesting songs on this album. I'm not sure if I liked it very much. I'll give it a 3.
Nico...her voice sounds familiar. The second track had 104 Million plays! I'll probably recognize that one. Nope I don't recognize it. MEh....I guess 2 stars
HEY!! The Pet Shop Boys. Boy if just the name doesn't take me back to the early days of my life in Montana. I remember JoElllen's older boys were into Euro synthpop. Of course I never knew it was called that back in the day. I don't think I ever owned an album of theirs. Let's check this out. I guess you could say that that's when my love for dance/edm music was born. Between them and Saint Etienne. Wow this was from 1990! So this came out when I was in Montana already. I'm liking it so far! Something about their voice and the synth sounds that is just so neat. I like the overall vibe of this. Not too pop-y, and has a nice swaying mellowness to it. A bit sultry I guess is the word. 4 stars.
I've only heard a few of these guys' songs. The first song on this album is Monday Monday. I'd heard this song before better didn't know it was them.
Hmmmm jazz? I've never hear of this. ooooh I like her voice. Wonder what she looks like. And yeah, totally jazz. I loved her voice and the vibe. I will give this album 4 stars
HAHA that's so funny. Marisol and I ate at Pie Hole the other day and they had a paper plate taped to the cash register with a bunch of little magazine cut outs of Britney Spears face and text saying 'Tip me baby one more time". and here we are today with this album. LOL! I'll give it my best shot but not sure if I'll hang the whole time. Okay I can't finish it. lol
Man I have not had time to finish listening to this, and I will at one point. But so far I'm enjoying it. From what I've heard I'll give it 3 stars
If it wasn't for the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, I would not know as many Queen songs as I do. And I don't know if I've ever listened to a whole Queen album before. This will be a treat. Ah, this happens to be the album that Bohemian Rhapsody is on! So I think for that it's going to get a 4 from me!
This has always been such a great album. I love RHCP. Such a unique sound, and iconic of that time in music history.
Oh fuck yeah 2 back to back 5 star albums! However, I can't say that I've listened to this album front to back. Maybe I have who knows. lol
Probably an unpopular opinion but I don't really like Motorhead :/
I sure do love me some Coldplay!! Man, they just have a way of touching all the feels. I cry everytime I sing to Coloratura, The Scientist..and Yellow always reminds me of mind and Marisols early days. 5 Stars
I think I've heard the name Peter Tosh before, but I wouldn't have been able to tell you that he sang ragae, nor could I have told you any songs he sang, let alone listen to any of his albums. I am pleasantly surprised by this album. There's a bit of a guitar solo in No Sympathy that is very catchy. I like the vibe for sure. Hitting the spot today. 4 Stars!!
Another Queen album. I swear this has to be the 4th album of theirs I've got. I don't know I mean it was okay. Id give it 2.5 but I can't do that so 2 stars it is.
I love me some good blues. This is hitting the spot this morning. 4 stars. Reminded me of the blues scene in Adventures in Babysitting
I would not have been able to tell you any of the songs from these guys, but I have recognized, How Can I Be Sure, Groovin, and I don't Love You Anymore. I like the sound of the voice. Reminds me of some of those black bands like Delphonics. The whole album has had that sound. You Better Run is good too! A little angry and harder rock sound. Wouldn't have thought this would have gotten more than a 3 but this is a solid 4!
Hey!!! I never thought I'd see St. Etienne on here! This is a treat! First album I had of these guys was Tiger Bay 1994. Pretty sure I got it at Rockin Rudy's or from Columbia House. I don't think I've listened to this whole album. But I have heard at least one song from it. Man her voice is so pretty. I've really liked this so far. It's light and airy. St. Etienne holds a special place in my heart so 5 stars
Who are these guys??? Never heard of them. meh, it was okay. 2 stars.
I'm liking this this morning. 3 stars.
oh man, this album...well maybe not the whole album but that first song is incredible!! I say maybe not the whole album because I haven't listened to the whole thing before. I don't even remember how or where it was that I heard the Maggot Brain track but it is so awesome!! I'm excited to hear this today. It's a 10 min track with an interesting intro. The lyrics are so strange. Well there are only 7 tracks out of 10 on that album available on Spotify. The rest were okay. Nothin like that first one. So I'll give it 3 stars.
Awwwwwe my mom had this cassette! I remember listening to it when we lived in the trailer. So just for that it gets 5 stars. :) Loved it!
How come I've never heard of Aimee Mann? Definitely has that 90s sound! Love it! But not enough for 4 stars.
Hm never heard of this guy. Hmmm I'm not liking this at all. it has zero melody, sounds like a person just randomly making sounds when they're trying to make up a song on the fly. 1 star.
Oh man, Marvin Gaye is so good. I love the sound of his voice, and music. 5 stars.
I mean I like Adele and all but this one is a little hard to get through for me. Not quite jiving with me.
It was okay I think I like it better than Adele, but not worth 4 stars. 3 stars.
5 Stars. I don't think I'd listened to this all way through before. Just the songs they play on the radio. I loved the songs I hadn't heard before. This sound seemed ahead of its time for being 1992
Holy shit, Deee-Lite!! Never thought I would see this on here. Lets check it out. But first I need to take a shit. This was fun. Not too crazy about it though.
Alright! Some Pixies! This is the album that has Where is My Mind? Awesome. That's the only song of theirs I know haha. Oh and Gigantic which is also on this album.
Awwe this one has Tuesday's Gone on it. I will forever be reminded of Dazed and Confused when I hear this. Gimme Three Steps is on here too. I'll have to finish this tomorrow. Simple Man is on here too.
Never heard of these guys. Don't even know what to expect here. Didn't get around to listening to this today. Just hearing the first song now. I'll have to finish it tomorrow. This first song called Birdland is pretty cool. It's the track with the most listens. 18.4 million as of today. So I guess the rest will be less than? lol. So far it's pretty cool though. The song seems to tell a story. It's cinematic. Like it could be the soundtrack to a scene in a movie. It's jazzy, reminds me of new york. Kind of interesting to have a synth playing along with all the other traditional jazz instruments. I'll finish listening tomorrow.
Love these guys! How come they sound so familiar? I guess it kind of reminded me of a song on The Crow but it's not. I like the sound of this. Better than yesterday's jazz. Most of their top songs are from this album. HM! these guys are Scottish!
Another Pixies album! Just had one 4 days ago. This first track was dope!! Cecilia Ann. It's a shame I have not heard more of these guys. So it's been nice to be introduced to their albums lately. I like this sound. You know I never really listened to The Pixies a whole lot, and only ever really knew Where Is My Mind? thanks to Fight Club. But just in the last week I've had 2 of their albums for the album of the day thing. I think I have a new found appreciation for them. They're pretty awesome. IMO. 4 stars.
I just can't with this. 2 stars.
Okay The Rolling Stones. it was aight. 3 stars.
I like the Scottish accent in here. I'm enjoying this more than yesterday's Rolling Stones. Really liking this! Getting 4 stars!
oh hell yeah!! I Haven't ever listened to a whole White Stripes album. I really like these guys though. I like their music, their album art, the way they look etc. 5 stars
Meat Puppets. Funny how I never knew that Lake of Fire by Nirvana was first by these guys. This album is from 1984, but it sounds more like the 90s. I guess I can hear the punk sound in this first track a bit. I've never heard any of their music, let alone listened to one of their albums front to back. This will be fun. Diggin it man! Plateau sounded a lot like Lake of Fire. Ooooh Teenager(s). I like that one! great intro.
Well it's Jimi, of course it's going to get 5 stars!! Never heard a whole Jimi album front to back. And the Gods Made Love. lol It's been a good album. Gonna give it 4 stars though.
Hm, I haven't been too thrilled about this album for the first 3 tracks. Once in a Lifetime is on here and of course everyone has heard that one. This was alright. Not crazy about it though. 3 stars
hmm have even heard of David Gray?? I don't think so. I guess his voice is a little familiar. Oh I've heard Babylon. This album has kind of put me in a lul mood. It's been okay but I don't really think it's getting more than 3 stars.
Crazy how the 60s have such a distinct sound. Diggin this so far. The Blues overtone to this is nice! With the organ in some of these songs. I get a lot of Doors vibes. 4 stars!
Almost got through all of it. If it wasn't for the overall darkness/goth feel to it. I would have only given it a 2 but we'll go with 3
I know I know a Yes song. Can't quite put my finger on it though. Ooooh this first track might be it. The classical guitar intro is beautiful! Just turned funky. hmmm if that first track was their biggest hit on the album, it's all down hill from here lol. I mean it's okay.. but not crazy about it. Yeah this is crazy music. No melody at all and just all over the place. I'm done with this. 2 stars.
I've never heard a whole zz top album. Awee this makes me think of ZZ :( RIP I didn't listen to the whole thing but I will give it a 3
808 State? lol Hawaii? yep. Funny I remember that from when I used to activate VoiceStream phones. only got through like 3 or 4 songs
Bout time I get a good heavy album! I definitely know of Slipknot and looks like I have one of the songs on the album saved, but I've never owned an album or heard one all the way through. This came out when I met Shani. Crazy. 25 yrs old already. Well this goes without saying but 10 stars here.
The Mothers of Inventions huh? Never heard if these guys. 1968 I see Frank Zappa there and heard his name quite a bit in that first track. I don't really like zappa. There are some funny lyrics in here though. I rarely give 1 stars but I just can't with this. I'll listen to What's the Ugliest Part of Your Body? cause that has almost 4 million plays then I'm out. 1 star.
ooooh I remember this album cover from Vanilla Sky. I really hate his voice. 2 stars only cause I knew a couple of these because Peter Paul and Mary redid them better 2 stars
Well its AC/DC, how could I give it less than 5 stars. However there were a couple thing that I learned while listening to this album that I had not known before about AC/DC. 1. Did not know that Malcom and Angus were brothers OR that they were Scotish. 2 That the band is an Australian band. 3, that a former band member had died prior to this album and that the all black cover is a "sign of mourning" for Scott. Great album. Almost every single track on this is a hit! 5 stars.
Ah yes some good ol REM. Pretty sure laura had this album when I was growing up. Good stuff. It was good, It's been a long time since I've heard it. I'll give it 4 stars.
Oh fuck yeah!! I'm so happy this is one of the 1001 albums you need to listen to before you die! LOVE LOVE LOVE this album. Oh man, I remember when i first bought this cd living with grandma and aweome it made me feel when I would jam out to it while lifting weights. I still get that same energy now after all these years. 10 stars!
Hm I have no idea who this person is but she's got a rockin body! This just came out 3 yrs ago. I mean it was okay. I didn't hate it. I'll give it 3 stars.
4 stars.
Santana!! I've always loved that name for how close it resembles Satan, or Satanas. Ave Satanas!!! lol but dude, this album is going to be fire! Dude is that pigeon eating that lady out? lmao. OMG I love the intro to Black Magic Woman. I'll give it 4 stars
Never heard these guys. It's been okay. I like the blues sounds mixed in with jazz. Besides the religious themes throughout it's been okay. Oh just kidding I have heard Spinning Wheel. I think 3 stars for this one.
oh FUCK YEAHHHHHHH!!! uhhh no brainer. 5 stars. Damn this album is 2hrs and 13min! no complaints here.
Never heard of these guys before. It's alright so far. Definitely has that 80's sound. Wasn't crazy about it. 3 stars.
Meh, 3 stars
I would not have knows as much about this album if it wasn't for the movie that recently came out about Bob. Good stuff man! 5 stars.
Oh the Clash!! Yay! Love this shit! This was born the same year I was! I've definitely heard the first track on this many times. We'll see how many more I recognize.
Hmmmm not sure if I'll make it through this one. A bit too country for me.Yeah nope. 2 stars. I really wanted to give it 1 star but that would just be mean.
YAY!!!! OMG this album has so many fucking memories tied to it. Incense, glow in the dark stars, getting high, summer, Amanda, just moving here, riding the uta bus to work and back, somehow Einstein Bagels. lol Good solid album here! 10 million stars.
Okay this kind of Country I can tolerate, mainy just because how good of a person Dolly is. Key word being tolerate. The biblical references are cringe. The whole album is only 27 min. I can do that. lol There's a couple songs on here that I like. I like the old sound, and her voice.
Don't know what to expect here, but I like the bass intro on the first track. If I had to guess I'd say jazz, but the Parent Advisory warning, tell me otherwise. ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ We'll see. Hm I like it. It's rap but not the shitty kind. 3 Stars
I listened to some of this but wasn't thrilled 3 stars
Ah man I lost the text I had in here before but basically I was not sure what to expect. Turns out these guys pioneered the whole industrial music genre. I like the uneasy feeling it evoked, almost sinister. I need to find a better way to describe that. I liked the german.
Oh Screaming Trees! I know I know some of their music. But I can't remember right now which ones for the life of me lol. So yeah I have not listened to an entire album before.
I love this oldies sound. Oh! You Doin't Own Me is on this album. I like that one, man that was a whole other time the 60s. These songs are happy and all about love. So many hits on this album. Will you Love Me Tomorrow, Wishin and Hopin, I think I'll give this one 5 stars
The Modern Lovers huh? Never heard of them. Reminds me of The Doors. It was okay it definitely had that 60s sounds but mixed in with some newer sounding sounds. I'll give it 3 stars
HM! XTC...never heard of this or at least I don't think so...I don't really understand concept albums. I don't think I ever really even knew about the term until I started doing this. Or maybe when John told me about that Frank Zappa album. Trying to think who this reminds of. Kind of has some Police vibes? no not The Police..Talking Heads? It'll come to me. Duran Duran! That's who he sounds like! I don't know I didn't hate it but it's not AMAZING. 3 stars. The Man Who Sailed His Soul caught my ear. It's got a cool Jazzy tune to it. I would probably replay this track again sometime. OH! So they saved the best for last. Dear God. I have heard this before!
Uhhhhhh I LOVE the album cover obviously! Sexy AF lol. Never heard of these guys. By the name of the album I thought it was going to be country. And by the album cover I thought it was going to be chicks singing. But nope was wrong on both counts. It's rock and sounds decent. didn't get through the album.
Didn't get a chance to hear this on Friday so listening now. I like the intro on this first track. It's definitely a catchy tune. The guitar in a few of these songs remind me of the Misfits intro song. Catchy little tune on Auf Achse.
I didn't listen to this yesterday but I've heard it before. I will listen now.
Yeah I can't with this. Sorry Nick. 2 Stars.
I don't know why but I never liked Bitter Sweet Symphony. That was the first track and I just skipped it. And other than that song I don't know if I know any other songs from these guys. The second song mentioned the lord a bunch so fuck that one. This third one sounds like Oasis. The album art is so 90s lol with his bucket hat. meh 3 stars.
oooh some Jazz!! I'm jazzed about this. So far so good. I enjoy me some good jazz! It was pretty good. 4 stars
Awwe the Beatles were one of my mom's favorites. They sure were incredible musicians, and dominated the music scene for decades!! Kind of magic honestly. I've probably heard a lot of these songs. The whole album is only 33 min. 14 tracks. I really like the album art/photo. I like the spanish sounding guitar in Til There Was You. You Really Got A Hold On Me...love it! This album is 5 Stars hands down.
I don't know there's a couple good songs on here. And I do like that rocknroll sound. Kinda sounds like what I would expect to hear in biker bars or something. But I don't think I can give it more than 3 stars.
Never heard of these guys. But I sure love the early 80s hip hop sound. Yeah this is good stuff! creepin up to 5...4 stars.
Mudhoney!!! Good ol Greg of Parklane, put a song or 2 of these guys on my mix tape he made me. This is good shit! 5 stars! I thoroughly enjoyed this album!!
ugh, I immediately cringed when I saw todays album. I'm just not a fan! I'll give it a try though. I don't understand the big hype around this guy. There's some alright guitar on Willie The Pimp. And the lyrics say "pussy" so that's cool lol "You're tryna buy some pussy with a third party check" kinda bold for '69 heheh 69. That one is a 9:23 min song! and there's another one on this album that's nearly 13. Son of Mr. Green Genes is all instrumental and pretty jazzy. A pretty specific title for a song without lyrics. Little umbrellas is also instrumental and even more jazzier. I like this one. Turns out the rest of this is jazz. Which I can deal with. Glad I gave it a chance. 3 stars instead of 2 on this one.
Never really gave Stevie Wonder a chance. I know who he is but I couldn't tell you a single song of his. Oh Superstition is one of his! I've heard that one for sure. I gave this an honest listen. It was alright. Didn't hate it didn't love it. 3 stars.
I don't know if I can name a single Deep Purple song. Oh JK Smoke on the Water, Highway Star from Dazed and confused prolly some more too. Man these guys were legends. This is good ol 70s rock man! š¤š½ Okay I didn't think I'd enjoy this live version but I'm super diggin it. 5 solid stars here.
No shit!!? hell yeah. Oh man this takes me back to my last year in Montana. It's been a long time since I've listened to this front to back. HA! I just remembered that Derek West had this in his VW when he came to visit Laura. He had this and U2, They Might Be Giants..I can't remember what else. I wanna say REM? I can't believe this album is already 30 yrs old! WTF? I'm old. I really like Pulling Teeth. I'm glad that didn't get as much attention as some of the other songs like Basket Case and When I Come Around over playing songs on the radio ruins it for me. She is also awesome! This is one of those albums I wish I could rate a 10.
I have never heard of Mekons. But Fear and Whiskey is a cool name for an album. Brittish? yep! This gives me hope "It is universally viewed as their masterpiece by fans" but then "Alternative Country"? hm, I'll give it a chance. Well I didn't hate it. I loved the Irish sound to it. Like Irish drinking songs. Even though I know they're English. I'll give it a 3. I kind of wish the rating system was 1-10 instead. I end up having a lot of 3s in my ratings.
Ahhh yeah....The way this started out! Totally fit my mood this Friday Morning. ooooh that smooth sax on the second track! It's funny I'd never heard of this guy, but just by looking at the song list (only 5 tracks) and their lengths (averaging 8 min and one being 12min) I knew it would be jazz. I do enjoy jazz.
Wow she's so pretty! What a unique voice. There are so many of these songs that are way overplayed. But I do like the sound. Her music makes me want to be in a coffee shop while it's full on fall outside. I'll give this one a 4
69 Soul? Sounds good! I never even got to this today. I'll check it out tomorrow. Oooo I love the way this started out. And the vibe in on point. I'll give this one a 4
The Human League I know not who this is. 1981, the year of the birth of my sister. Ooooh synth-pop. You know I love that! Oh crazy, out of all these songs on this album, I do actually know Don't You Want Me and that was the very last track. Im thinking 4 on this one.
Hm, this does not sound like '78. Way ahead of its time. Sounds 90s to me. And alot of the others more like late 80s I actually didn't hate this one. And will give it 4 stars.
This album is fire all the way through. I will definitely visit this one again.
meh, I can' twith this .2 stars
I think I've had a Suede album before. Sexy cover! There are parts of this song that remind me of Catherine Wheel. Meh.
Well there's no argument that the Beatles were not musical geniuses, this album has been great, lots of great hits on here and I've enoyed some of the tracks I'd not heard before, like Because. I like the sound of You Never Give Me Your Money. 4 stars
I'm sure this was a great album. I only listened to a few songs.
I don't know if I've ever listened to this album in its entirety. This should be good. Opening track has over a billion listens!
I was never into these guys. But I have heard a couple of these songs. It's Tricky, and Walk This Way. It was aight. 3 stars
hm, I've heard the first song on this album, we'll see if I recognize any others. ugh, not my style man. 2 stars
Death in Vegas?? hm. This first track sounds familiar. OH! fuck yeah I know this song. I like it! this is kind of a nice little treat. Didn't know what to expect here. but I'm diggin. This is cool has a dark type of ambience like Massive Attack. We'll say 4 on this one.
Alright! Some Aerosmith! I don't think I've had a singe Aerosmith album this whole time! That's so sad about his throat injury :/ ohhhh Goin Down/Love In An Elevator is on this album. Never heard that intro before lol. hm Janies's got a gun too. 4
This was a weird one. I don't know if I would ever listen to this again. Sorry guys but 1 star.
Not familiar with this band. At least I don't think. We'll see. HM not hating this! I actually really liked this album.
Another one I haven't ever heard of. Brittish rap? This intro on the first track is cool. Yeah I don't know. It was okay. 2 Stars.
Uh... 5 stars for this one! Thrash metal??? How can you go wrong, love this shit!!! š¤š½
Well this ones definitely going to get a 5 from me. Mainly for nostalgic reasons. But it is a great album. Today I learned Had a Dad ,was sampled in NINs Ringer finger. I had no idea. John told me. Nice piece of trivia there.
I'm loving the nostalgia this album has. I never really listened to MC other than what they played on the radio, but she's got such a beautiful voice omg!! I really loved My All holy shit! That went right into my Liked songs. gonna re listen to it right now actually. Man so beautiful!
Never heard of this guy before. This first song is cool sounding has that latin sound. I like his voice. HAHA the more I hear his voice the more it reminds me of that sad clown from PMJB Puddles Pitty Party? something like that. Meh not crazy abou this. I mean it's nice but meh. Good thing it's only 32 min long. Hm I guess this The Old Man's Back Again sounds familiar
Man Rolling in the Deep is such a good song! As much as i like that song and adele in general, 4 stars
Hm this first track sounds cool! Not sure what kind of music this will be. Let's have a peek at the wiki info. British art rock band? okay....Meh, it was alright 3 stars
there was a couple good songs on here. Probably not something I'd revisit. 3 stars
Not my kind of jam but it was okay 3 stars.
I've never given these guys an honest listen, just whatever I may have hear on the radio. This first track is cool. I like the sound. Tighten is the one I've heard from these guys. Howlin' For You too. ooh I like Black Mud! Too Afraid to love you is awesome too. I really liked this album. Not quite a 5 but a solid 4 stars!
Hm this whole album only has 4 tracks and only 2 are available on Spotify. What is this, experimental, psychedelic? German Electronic...oh cool! these guys did the sound track to the 1986 movie Legend with Tom Cruise. I think I only ever watched that movie one time. I should rewatch it. This was cool but just 3 stars.
This album blows. 2 stars.
Didn't get to this yesterday but I'll play a few of these I don't think I'll listen to the whole 2 hrs. We Will Fall is cool, slow dark and morbid. Oh damn it's a 10 min track. Meh I'm not going to listen to the whole thing. I like the old 60s rock sound for sure but.. 3 stars.
FUck yeah now we talking. I'll take Led Zeppelin over The Stooges any day! Ooooh Kashmir is on this album! Led Zeppelin is one of those bands that have the ability to transport me through time and makes me really feel those times somehow. Hard to describe. I can't believe Kimberly doesn't like them! The guitar in Bron-Yr-Aur is amazing! Ten Years Gone is really pretty too. Yep 5 stars!
What a great album art this is. This album was actually really cool. I'd hear their more popular songs, but never a whole album from start to finish. I'll give this one 4 stars.
I like the title and the picture on this album. Kinda perfect for the Halloween season. Sorry this album sucks. I don't do this often, but 1 star
OH man! I remember seeing this album cover in Montana. Can't remember who had it but yeah this takes me back. Well the picture anyways. Never heard the whole album but definitely at least one or two tracks. Man this has been good!! This is getting 5 stars.
Awwwe Good ol Frankie. I wonder which songs this one has on it... The 50's would have been such a magical time to live in. 4 stars.
Didn't get to this on Friday so listening now. Spotify says they are the best English band ever to hit it big in America. Funny album name. The first track was instrumental so didn't really know what kind of music to expect here. The second track is cool. This album is 2hrs long! We'll see if I last that long. Yeah I can't do this for 2 hrs. I think I made it throuh 5/30 tracks lol 3 stars.
I liked it! 4 stars.
This is awesome!! It's like the beginnings of techno in the 90s. I actually really like this so far.
hmm. not sure what to expect here. Sounds like disco! okay...I could probably use some of this today. Oh WTF!? I know Le Freak. That's a classic! It was a nice change of music. But only a 3 here. Would have given 3.5 if I could.
Hmm I'm really liking this today! I don't know if I would have typically liked this but it's hitting the spot today. I'm going to mark this 4 stars. And will listen to the whole thing. I think I had a Rolling Stones album before maybe even more than one, and didn't rate it too high. I guess it just depends what my mood is at the time. Yep, I've had 3 before this one and I gave them all a 3
Awe shit! Dude this album has White Rabbit and Somebody to Love!! This will be fun. Would have been cool to be around when this first came out, to listen to it on vinyl...Grace Slick has such a unique voice! I also love the distinct sound of 60's rock. What a time that would have been to be alive. The intro to Comin Back To Me is pretty with the flute. Same with Embryonic Journey! what a cool name too. Ooooh super diggin this In The Morning song!! so bluesy!! 5 Stars!
It was alright. 3 stars
I know David Bowie is such an iconic artist but I just don't get into him. I'm gonna have to cut it short. 2 stars.
It was okay I'll give it 3 stars.
Awwwe Simon and Garfunkle. My mom loved these guys. I think she said one of her music teachers introduced her to them when learning about harmonizing. They do harmonize pretty fucking good. lol This album had a couple songs that perked my ears. Some darkness in one of them, no not the sound of silence. Something about rats. And then a naughty reference in A Simple Desultory Philippic.
Didn't get around to this on Friday but listening now. What a legend Johnny was man. Ah, this is the one with Hurt! That's so cool that he covered that song. I thought for the longest time that this was before NINs but nope. Trents was first. Awe Give My Love To Rose too. I like that one. Dude, this album is fire. There are so many covers on here! Including Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus.
Hmm we'll see if I can last through this whole album. Johnny Cash is one thing, but a trio of cunt-ry women? My aunt used to like Linda Ronstadt. Kind of just listening passively but it's not too bad. Still not giving it more than 2 stars but somehow today it just fits. 2 stars
Never gave much thought to The Who. funny but the cover reminds me of the Beatles, and the music surprisingly is not very different. lol They're one of those bands that I know was all the rave at one point but don't really consider earth shattering. Hm I'm A Man is totally different than the rest. Straight up Blues. Probably my favorite so far. 3 stars
HEYYYY I was just listening to her earlier this week! Oh Crucify is on this. HM This was 3 yrs before Boys for Pele. I thought her fame came from that one but Crucify was a hit way before. I love Tori Amos. Oh shit Silent All These Years too is awesome! I really liked this album. I went on a whole Tori kick after this and checked out some of her other stuff.
The only song I can name of his is the If you want my body song. We'll give it an honest effort. It's only 40 min. I mean this is pretty average. I've said it before but anyone who can put together and album at all deserves recognition and in my book is way talented than me. But sometimes the album is just average. Oh! (Find A) Reason To Believe is on this. I know this one. Didn't know it was Rod Stewart. On this one I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars but leaning more towards a 3.
