. Pass

It was just okay.

not my stuff

Not for me

Can. Not. Listen. To. Country.

Not for me. 1/5

If I could have given this a zero I would have - soz Martyn

not for me

Not my thing generally; too plodding. But Cool Water has nice harmonies. "The night's are cool and I'm a fool" is great.

Artiste inconnu. Très répétitif, donc très ennuyeux. Rien de bien intéressant, j'ai arrêté au 4eme morceau. =>1/5

Gunslinging ballads aren’t my jam

From the onset of the first note I was worried that this would be a struggle. I expected a collection of outdated country western songs with limited appeal. While that's pretty much what I got it was a little better than my initial judgement. Classic western country is pretty far from my personal taste so I won't be coming back but I didn't struggle with this as much as many other entries on the list. I'm sure there was an era and a setting when this was appealing but as a coastal city boy it just doesn't resonate with me in any way. You can throw one of these on in a late night saloon every now and then but otherwise I'll mostly skip the entire genre. 1.57 stars

Cowboys hiya chevals chapeaux youpi vive le grand Ouest. De la country mielleuse.

Yeah... not my cup of tea. Not much of a gunfighter or in need of a trail song. This seems to be the kind of music that rock and roll rose up as a counterpoint to. The only situation I could see liking this music would be in Frontierland at Disneyland.

I was bored after 3 minutes of track 1. A minute into track 2 I was irritated. A minute into track 3 I gave up. Not my kind of thing. 1/5

All the sounds were about the same thing. No variation at all.

Wie aus einem Paralleluniversum. Ungenießbar.

Classic sounds from old westerns, yes, but must hear? No.

Nasal sluggish vibrato country western. Not for me.

Pas pour moi...

Yee haw. Quite the vibe. Sunday morning TV stuff

I mean some decent story telling if you like the same story of a cowboy gunning people down 15 times. Or not. I’m not sure I only made it to song 7.

Too violent. No wonder we have so many gun nuts today

Howdy , I’ll never listen to this again . Yeee haaaaw. ! 1

Yuck. Just about the blandest most terrible version of country, a genre with a huge capacity for bland terribleness. I've picked the first song as my favourite, but that was only because I still had hopes and dreams then.

this is just schlager for cowboys

For what it is it's good but it's not for me.

Someone must have written a thesis about a direct link of the ‘Old West’ and the American obsession for the right to bear arms? This is folk music. Like every culture has folk music. Storytelling by song. It’s powerful stuff. This is just a barrage of shooting and killing, normalised by a jaunty beat and friendly voice. The body is nearly at 50 in one of the songs. It makes Notorious BIG and Fiddy look like complete amateurs.

Nope…

Not my cup of tea. 1/5

Nice voice.

The style did not work for me.

What the fuck is this shit?

The worst of country.

I don't like country music.

Growing up in Northern Ireland, I think I am well-qualified to say that I despise country music. I had to listen to so much of that rubbish when I was younger, and I did not last three minutes into this. Not going to waste an hour I’ll never get back.

Country nope

Not my taste

didn't dig the vibe

Another album I think I may have been fine to go to the grave without listening to. Might have scored better whilst watching a good spaghetti western!

Wow, I was so into this for the first couple of songs and then I had to jump out of a window. Even still, it follows me!! There should be a warning label on this that reads: WARNING: use as directed. Avoid high places. Not intended for continuous consumption. For best results, and to maintain sanity, use fewer than three songs per hour. If extended listening occurs, pray for an early death.

*didn’t listen to this one*

Not for me. Relatively normal country music with little interest.

not my cup of tea. listened to only about half of the album. I'm positive i didn't miss out on anything. How this could be in the top 1000 albums is truly mind boggling.

Not my style

Starts with a banger, thought I was gonna get a real cowboy story. Instead I just got a wannabe daytime TV loser cowboy.

I mean...well done, but...

Awful awful awful. These people have no culture.

I made it halfway through. that's better than all the other country on this list

Voce che mi innervosisce, vecchia

Does have a nice voice but not really my style to listen to. Fairly peaceful singing and the guitar playing was simple and fairly nice, but too repetitive and just not really my thing.

2 songs in and i hate it i hate country

Hillbilly nonsense

Und auch hier wieder die so häufig gestellte Frage: warum sollte ich ausgerechnet DAS gehört haben? Hilfe.

Of absolutely no relevance to me.

this is a step too far in respecting the past. country music is culturally associated to the US and it is NOT representative to worldwide music fans. In Europe country music is not only not relevant, but also had no impact on the evolution of music and musical taste. this record doesn't belong in the 1001 albums list.

Consecutive C&W albums! NO, NO, NO

What the actual shit?

fuck this right off.

Very 50s. I guess if i had a love of old westerns this could have worked.

On the menu today - generic western influenced country music. I didn't want to be harsh to this album, as this is a very specific subgenre of music, but not even one song was convincing, or in any way interesting and addictive. It's just a simple country melody, with an incredibly campy lyrics about wild, wild west. In general, I'm fan of western movies, and I absolutely love some of the OST's, mainly Ennio Morricone, but usually those are instrumental. I don't think any type of music would be interesting with this type of corny lyrics. Still, the album has now more than 60 years, so maybe at the time it was revolutionary? Who knows, right now those songs, unfortunately, can live only as memes, or relicts of the past.

I swear at times I heard a little Elvis sounding voice. Other than that, I found this a little tough to listen. A little surprised I made it through the entire album. Not for me. 1

Country Music ..so.. richtig wild West Storys, mega nicht meine welt.

caguei n vou ouvir isto

Not my thing :( Big Iron is a classic tho

Can't say I enjoyed this one, could see some of it being background music in old timey movies but it was a slog to get through

I have never heard such nostalgic rubbish. This is why rock ‘n’ roll was invented. Like the cover tho

Fome. Innecesario. No pertenece a esta lista.

I only knew the first song (Big Iron) and it is a great song. Also thought the other songs written by MR stood out above the rest of the material, but in general this album was just too boring (reminded me of all those Elvis Presley soundtrack albums).

The production is very clean and crisp, especially for 1959. But I found the album a little tedious and repetitive, both musically and lyrically. How many songs had the image of notches on a gun? I wonder if I’d enjoy one or two of these songs more on their own instead of all in a row.

Wouw.. is it a joke..?!

What the actual fuck was he on about! Plus terrible terrible music like the sound of rain on a car roof.

Soundtrack to a shit western. A really shit one.

Oh no. Just ... Don't.

Not a fan of country lol

c'est chiant

Seems harsh for me to give this less than a 2 but I really don't like this genre. After a minute or two it seemed like this could be a decent change of pace for me, but that's about the time I started tiring of it. And I think that first song ("Big Iron") was probably the best of the lot. I just can't with the simple tunes with that 50s echoey crooning vocal sound. Not exactly digging the lyrics either. I think it's really not so much the country - it's the western. 2/10 1 star - i'm sure there's a reason he's here but I just can't look beyond my personal distaste.

Zzzzzzzz Songs to play around an open fire in the 1950s. Boring stories and repetitive boring music. If this was the soundtrack for a a Spinal Tap/Mighty Wind style mockumentary it would fit perfectly.

говно тупого говна

This is country so I’m gonna pass on this. Yee haw Marty

Lots of gun and killing talk for such gentile sounding music.

Didn’t like it. Not my forte. Did not finish v by
