The Sensational Alex Harvey BandThis was a good producer. Reminds me of George Martin. He was glam rock and heavily influenced by late beatles. Really good and surprising. Actually loved this so

Wow blown away by this group and LP which was almost perfect. Last song went country and slow to end it which sucked. But pretty fresh original unpredictable music. Good musicians with great songwritting.
Mom Im gonna be a rock star. Lets form a garage band No one will sign us It dont matter they dont understand our music Lets record our own record and produce it cause no producer will understand our sound. Bring his guitar hero band mates and records and puts this out. You know when you see sonething really sloppy and crappy and say my 6 year old can do that better well he probabaly can. This to me qualifies as performance art more than actual music. I understand that in the late 60s the hippie craze was huge and they were looking for new fresh sounds and some crazy 💩 was recorded and released. This is one of them.
Sorpresivamente me gusto.
Fuk this dude
With the beatles.
Its not that I cant die without listening to it. Its that I almost died listening to this crap.
Nice album very easy listening but didnt find any real highlights just some good musicians just playing nice songs. Lacked that wow element for me as it was all sounding alike and no zenith on this one. Liked it but didnt wow me.
Although I didnt understand half of the album, the passion Jacques signs with and the people loving it makes it amazing to hear. Its a romantic pop ballards album like a Sinatra but from another country. Glad it found its way to me so I could learn and listen to it and “discover” it. Impressed by this one that was a left jab in the face.
Amamzing my cousin had this CD when I was a kid and Had no clue who the group was
Not my thing. Good production but definitvely not the type of music Im into.
This was a good producer. Reminds me of George Martin. He was glam rock and heavily influenced by late beatles. Really good and surprising. Actually loved this so
Find her boring although one of the greatest voices in music and even with good lyrics. Some are good most are the same. Good listen but nothing special to me. Like celine dion vibe. I would never go see her live even f free tickets are offered.
Meh
Good album. A bit repetitive at some point but at least 4 really really good songs. Overall works as an album with the order. Its well produced. Thumbs up for sure
Nope not for me. Sounds like a sad depressed hippie signing the same song over and over again. Might be more performance reciting than music to me
Beautiful soothing voice lot pf pain pn those notes. Perfect LP for realxing.
Depressing not fun Vibrato on voice was driving me insane. Vlice was not freat for me
Actually surprising. Cant understand most but this is an amazing album with a LOT of influences and variety. Samba, flamenco, funk, bossa nova, bolero, indie and other types of music. Very diverse, the producer killed it also mixing is great and sounds amazing. Very refreshing and relaxing
Best album so far top 5 punk of all time. Experimental, progressive, industrial post punk. Nothing you have heard sound like this. Now its probably in my top 50 ever best albums. Grace Slick meets sex pistols, with the ramones in the trunk on a car full of the runaways. Simply a masterpiece with punk rockers who are actually great musicians. Clean as punk can get.
Good album with a whole lot of Pistols on it. Tough to judge in context. Its more of a continuation of where they left off another band. Last 2 songs I could live without too experimental and crappy in all honesty but thats what punk is really about. You can imagine this album influenced Pink Floyds The Wall as a critique to the fascist state and a little screw you to The state for what the did to nevermind the bollocks. Also we hear a similar beat line to Another one bites the dust of Queen. Meaning this follow up project of johnny rotten was highly influential for the next years after pistols dissolved. Its better to judge it now amd see how it is so important in context to the progression of the post punk and rock scene.
It has to be on my top 5 list pf the 2000s albums. Short and powerful taking post-post punk to a higher level. In context the USA was taken over by hip-pop and tons of mediocre rappers were on the airwaves not leaving space for rock bands like this one. Rock and Pop Rock had a big bang left at the time to fight the ressistance with bands like Muse, Killers, Darkness, Velvert Revolver, Evanescence, Audioslave, White Stripes, Cold Play, Modest Mouse, Von Bondies, Sugarcult, Strokes, Amy Winehouse, Lot, Keane, New Found Glory, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Zebrahead, FOB, Fastballs, MCR, Maroon 5, Razorlight, Bowling for Soup, Tegan and Sara, Interpol, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and some other was still not enought to balance the wave of hundreds of rappers getting signed and releasing 💩 on a daily basis. It was a good fight and a great year for rock and pop rock. First song put me off a bit but once that starts the CD just gets better and better. Maybe it should have been the last song.
Top 10 album of the 80s and amongst the best all time. Once I heard how to dismantle an atomic bomb I wished the bomb went off and ended their careers but then I go back to this album and understand how important and influential it is for music as well as for me personally. The first 3 songs are probably the best CD start front runner for best all time along with guns and roses appetite
Good voice, good production amd musicians but this type of music to me sucks. Passive aggressive artsy indie music. Id much rather listen to Grace Slick who has a simar pitch and tone of voice as well as the Wilson sisters from Heart. Joni has a better album or at least one I can listen to completely this is not her best although that second song Jungle Line is great.
What should be considered one of the nest albums in hostorynof recorded music. Linkin took the world by surprise acheiving what only the Beatles could do over and over again, to have 90% of the album become successful singles each each song being more powerfull and better than the song before. Nu-metal with rap and strong lyrics and riffs. Simply a perfect album from start to finish, that captured the feeling of hopelessness of a whole generation. The combination of an insanely great voice on Chester (RIP) and power chords with desperation and anger is a helping hand to all people feeling the same way. Its not only the great music is about how this album saved lives by talking their truth. The successful formula that was Limp Bizkit was perfected by Linkin Park making this the best LP of the 2000 by a mile. They repeated the dose in their next album and as great as Meteora is and should be considered top 20 of the 2000. There is absolutely no way to top perfection but they tried and second chance they were almost perfect as well.
And here I was thinking I hate Bob Dylan 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Ive always felt the Kinks were a second tier Beatles. This album like all the others are very good. Still I feel they became the Minks once the beatles were out of the picture. Thos is a really good album very easy to listen to and flowing amazingly. By 1972 I feel they became a better band without the beatles pressure. Was a different kind of pressure all about taking the vacant spot. They did well I like em but this album its not my favorite. Still aweso E and freat musicianship from all members. Really good band
Easy listening album. Boring but nice to have as background music while you work. Nothing special, Calexico played it safe no risk or innovation. Same songs over and over with an eventual horn Fail.
This band is super underrated. An amazing British Invasion band that lived at the same era as the Beatles with a smaller life span. This is their best album and their phsychadelic pop rock with their Beatles influence makes this a really really good album with great fluidity. Band split up too soon and only did 2 albums I believe in their short lived span. Saw them in concert recently qnd they are still good. They recorded more albums but their 60s glory days they only did 2. These are one of what could have been bands that reached a peak in a short period and left a good dent on the history of music. Must listen to album.
Booket T is still an underrated talent in my opinion. This specific album are cover songs which most have great arrangements and pretty original to say the least. I used to not like them when I was a kid as I felt it was elevator music because its instrumental but these dude could play and jam. The fact that they were a mixed rock band back in the early 60s makes it much more important. Today I was able to really appreciate this album for what it is as a grown up and understand the importance of Booker T in context of his time. I love a few of their original stuff that came after this debut album which definitively left a mark and paved the way. Amazing album
This has got to be one of the best albums of the 2010-2019 decade. I had forgotten how good it is. The song order is impecable. Its a progressive love story with diferent rythyms and beats that works as a continious song. Its very rare to find an album like this now a days where the producers only care about making one or 2 singles. This is a masterpiece and although I like El camino’s albums singles a bit more this really work as an album and I enjoyed it more than the album with the better singles.
One of the greatest metal albums of all time. The one “mistake” was placing the song ubited in the middle which destroys the hard metal flow it has until then. Although the song is necessary taking i account the historical context of the moment and its not a bad song its not just metal enogh for this song selection. Love ot thou
I dislike this type of music. Not my thing I find it boring. Dont like Kate Bush either. They should leave these groups forgotten.
As much as I love some of their songs I feel the genere of music is a bit overrated. Album is alright but very repetitive sound and lyricwise. I do get the context of a new genere which is always great and what this movement did for music. I like a lot of songs but not as an album
Great the 2 things I despise the most in a single song. Country and religious brainwashing. And here I sat thinking I hated Bob Dylan. As much as I dislike country music and aleluya god is strong and helps me lyrics, I will let that slide with Dolly Parton cause in a world full of trumptards be a Dolly and make this shitty world a better place and help as many as you can. My respect for Dolly as a human being is far greater than my dislike for her genere. I find her voice to be beautiful and soothing and kind of mesmerizing at the same time. She sound like southern comfort and it helped me go through most of the album. I just dont like country music overall
With a mix of samba, soca and baticsds and lyrics in portuguese and english and including indigenous music this is easily top 3 of the greatest death metal albums ever and shows us the diversity Brasil has. At the highth of their musical career it shows how much they matured as musocians not just showing off their insane musical ability but actually making better arrangement choices and understanding only playing fast and with range it makes a good death metal song. Inviting other musicians from around the metal scene using their fame to spread this album and push sales around the world which it did. Its really hard and intense but very well done. Having 2 classical guitar songs right in the middle of the album lind of like an interlude to have the listener relax and rebbot the brain for the second part of the record which is even more intense than the first part. Great move by the producer. Sound of recording is clean and crispy
Weird one this one. Liked it but only one outstanding song in my opinion. They are all over the place with all generes combined but not in a great way cause the orde rof the songs was not right. They are a totally 80s band like timbuke 3 and a few other bamds that didnt evolve from that mid 80s vibe. Cool to hear but nothing special for me
As smooth and clean as a jazz recoding can be. Masterful album thet flows like wine in the villas of the breezy mountains of guatemala in the village of santo poco. I can listen to this all dey feels like one neverending song that you can loop over amd over again amd still never feel its the same. Insane skills as musicians not one single flaw detected. Very soothing ans relaxing could be background music for my life.
Most def. His best album. Incredible he did so much great music in si little time and makes me wonder what we missed. Flawless album of simply well arranged and produced songs. Mixing rock with other generes. His deep voice is beautiful and the quality of the group as musicians is just insane. The drummer clean as can be. This is one of those perfect records that happen once or twice in a decade.
Enjoyed the album. Never heard it as an album only one or 2 song. Was surprised a lot of energy and kind of a post punk but organized and well written arrangements. Its like a step on the punk rock movement before pop punk came into the scene. The voice sounds like kids singing with some hatred inside but nothing like old school punk of abandoned or disturbed dudes just screamming and playing instruments they didnt knew how to play. Much more compex music than early punk. One of the better albums from that era. Unfortunately it didnt have a lot of airplay in USA as they were busy with hip-hop and skipped this solid LP. The 80s rock of motley crue and glam rock era mixed with hardcore punk is a great mix. Can totally see me playing tony hawk pro slater playing this album
Know this album by heart. Know all the songs Top 10 album in music recorded history for me.
Indie pop not my thing they sound like bi-polar hippies on an acid trip. A fast song and a slow one full of hate the other full of love. Too much emotions going everywhere without any order just a few good songs I liked as singles but the album doesnt do it for me. Not a bad album just not my liking
Its not on Youtube so coulndt listen but have the CD and I remember it was somehow good and innovative at the time.
Wow I camt believe I had never listened to this album. Its very cool amd experimental that forst song is pure gold and got me into a full groove to listen to the complete album. Its indie experimental rock and I love the voice distortions on the songs amd the sudden unexpected pauses amd just crazy stuff going on all the time. A surprise song every song I really was lind of clueless of what to expect after the first song but was intrigued and needed to know the progression. One of the nest albums I didnt had a clue about that Ive “discovered” here. Know the band amd know a few songs but have never ever listened to an album of them and they have 15 albums which is very very impressive.
In my country Elvis was not played too much. The crappy radio stations robbed me of some wonderful music. This album is great from start to finish. Easy listening, no filler song. Elvis is much more than I was taught. Learned this a few years ago and hope everyone can listen to his music
I liked it. Although not my favorite type of music it played well. Songs were too long and sometimes got too repetitive and boring. One song cant remember which had a trumpet part and then abruptly it started a piano part which was surprising and refreshing.
Pretty good band already heard one and was better than this one. Solid musicians that knew their style and flowed great. Album is cool and easy listening but the 2 instrumental songs almost made go sleep. It OK
Cool album. Too repetitive all songs sound about the same but a little more heavy that usual psychodelic rock. Good music to losten as a background but not a life changing album
Had not heard this perfect CD of ballards country style. Such great renditions and what I usually feel is a tiresome voice works in this album perfectly. Perfect length. I dislike country but this CD which I had not listened to since 1993 when i High School, when for some reason my dad got a hold to it, he would play it on my way to drop me to school and I hated it, listening to it now its just a beautiful masterpiece we should all be able to enjoy. For context not one single country song is played in Puerto Rican radio stations, not then not now. So its a wierd genere to me.
Masterpiece amongst masterpieces. If thosbAlbum is not in your top 5 rap albums of all times you should not have a saying about anything having to do with rap. To me its toss up between illmatic and this for 1st and 2nd place followed by PE’s fear of a black planet, slim shady album and eother black star or Eric B and Rakims paid in full. The Score changed the raps course and the vocal range and stylenplus the lyrical content delivered by Lauryn Hill helped put them in another planet. Too bad Wyclef and Lauryn were not mature adults and called it quits in the height of their fame. They were so good that all three went on solo careers and their debut albums were top of the chain with Miseducation, The Carnival and ghetto superstars. Simply too much talent in a small space like the beatles.
What the fu)$ is this??? Is this sex music or protest music. Im confussed. Experimental speak easy music that is not great for either. This album could easily be erased from this list
This is poetry with background sounds, not really music. Lyrics are tough and beautiful. Great songwriting. Butttttt its as depressive as they come. If I ever end my life, this will be tue album that will be playing when done. Soooo depressing yet such dark and great lyrics.
Really good album. Solid until the last 2 songs whoch changes the tone and the song sound like a filler. Otherwise one of their best albums ever.
Actually surprised me first song was really good and pumped me but it went down a notch from that initial start. Still this band susrpised me and the album is much better than what I ever expected.
Not my thing Find it boring and sinply not a good voice. Lyrics are alright but nohing life changing.
Have thos Album but always used to skip to the better known songs. I was today years old when I learned that this although the same tone all album is a masterpiece of songwriting and an amazing album and that its much better as a continous work of art. Their harmonies are really amazong amd the contrast in their voices and pitch are sublime. Easy listening really good album
Same song over and over. Not my thing its boring and predictable.
Ive tried a thousand times to get into Jethro Tull’s music and I just can’t take it seriously. I hear it amd instantly envision medieval drunks at a bar just getting drunk and fighting and Willow in a corner smoking weed while the how to train my dragon kid gets rosted by the dragon Rhaeal from Game of Thrones on the way to Morodor to meet the princess bride Highlight of album is the song My God and locomotive breath which are pretty rockish but not my type of music.
Good album, coherent song order, secy voice, relaxing, but lacks a few show stopper songs to make it great.
This dudes voice is so depressing. Its the final push for anyone thinking about it. Amazing album start to finish. Really liked it only one song wasnt great and maybe too slow and depressing but good as an album for sure
Mid. Although fun its Definitively not a top 1,000 album.
Wow blown away by this group and LP which was almost perfect. Last song went country and slow to end it which sucked. But pretty fresh original unpredictable music. Good musicians with great songwritting.
Best metal album ever still the original which started metal. Simply a masterpiece from begining to end. The begining is still scary to hear. Its like if you are sneaking into a satanic sacrifice ritual. There are not many albums still today after 55 years that are this powerful. New generes have emerged and still nothing can surpass this debut album for a band or for a genere. Its a blueprint that will never be equaled and even thou there are a few who have given it a run for the top spot like van halen and guns debut they still lacked something. Ozzy’s crazy pitch and tony’s dark heavy riffs along with geezers baseline and bill’s off-tempo tempo drumming makes this a top 20 album ever. I can only imagine buying this album and listening to that first song my mind would have melted if I were 13 and heard that in 1970. I envy those kids who got to experience that moment first hand. Maybe its a little short but the lable had no clue what thos was and how it would change the music scene and history so probabaly recorded just seven songs cause it was too much too soon to have it been a 10-11 song album.
Kind of the same thing over and over. A few good songs strong a singles bit the album was too repetitive and kind of lame. Great harmonies though
Very surprising didnt expect a great album. From indie to rock blues and very cool sound. Album was well produced order of song is great they blocked together a few alike and then a totally different tune and song type to break monotony. Its a good album it has more than 5 songs I actually enjoey and I hate country music but its like an indie country pop rockish kind of music. Problem is thet its like a triple album with 21 songs definitively 9 too many
Not abbas best. Its cool some great songs but a bit too slow same tune and pitch throught the whole album. Nothing great but cool to sit down and cry. Pretty strong lyrics must have been the end cause you can feel the darkness and the hatred in the lyrics and voice inflections.
This Ive listened over 100 times start to finish was one of my 2 let it run album when in high school along with appetite. Hardcore fans called it a sell out cause they downed a tempo but the powers reamins the same and to me is a none commercial music album that made it into mainstream and helped spark the whole genere. Begining with enter sandman was a show stopper and followed by sad but true was absolutely brilliant in a side A with all singles. I find that it could have used maybe 2 songs less but since it works so well as a whole I could not even think of which ones to pull. This is a masterpiece and one of the top 5 most important metal albums in history. This was a game changer. Simply mind blowing
The importance of sonic youth has still not been credited as of today a top notch group of musicians making groundbreaking experimental punk rock music while the world was still going string on glam rock and what we know as classic rock. Kim Gordon Im still in love with, thirston moore still has not been recognized as he should for his guitar and composing skills. Much above everyone elses at the time and probably today. This is a top album anywhere you put it and its still sounds like it was recorded today and not 35 years ago. Held up and it will for eternity.
Although a good album to put at the beach and chill while letting it run. It really is just an album for that. Pretty good reggae from some English whiteboys who had a strong influence from Bob and made great music with little ways to get more reggae music back in England and they managed to stay loyal to the real thing. Too much dub in this album and gets boring after a few songs if listening deeply to it. Fun good album good music but not great although it was innovative for Europe and groundbreaking at the time.
Surprised by this album. Had not listened to it in its whole since 1980s when I played GIJoe and put tapes while I played for hours on hours. This was a new sound back when it came out and including lots funk and disco influences speciallynin that instrumental one which I cant remember the name but its amazing. Its a really good album and I fell in love with it over again. It has 2 songs that are mid thats the reason im giving it a 4
Had only listened to one song but this is a pretty hard rock solid album. It was surprising and it dumbfounded me at times with their change of pace and how the album was organized.
What in the ungodly hell bunch of hippies experimenting with strong acid and playing instuments randomly is this. Although solid, 20 songs is a bit much even more when its a repetitive tune. 14 would have been better. Not great other bands from this era ara much better. Didnt dislike it but not top 1,000 for sure.
You know how the Arcade Fire sucks real bad???? Well this is the Arcades Fire Original Gangsta group and they suck as well but with a mix of Republika. Nothing special about the album very monotonus until the last song but as the song Godess says I know it aint going to last and I couldnt be happier. Slow mellow depressive album not bad really bit not my jam.
All I hear is the Family Guy theme song over and over again. I guess its OK and really good clean musicians but not my thing. Did enjoyed it for a few songs until they all became too similar.
This band is one of the most important in history and even thou famous and well known I feel they are still uneerrated. Byrnes knowledge of music history is so vast that his influences on this album come from every genere and country. They influenced tons of bands and this album is the reason why. An album with 1 single yet all the songs are great and different. Simy amazing
I like pavement and their music but I dont think they any good as musicians they sound lile friends that did their garage band got signed and stayed at the same level. Yet fullfilled their dreams whixh is awesome. Voice is bad a hell but if it were 100% pure 70 punk it would work. A nice selection and different types of songs was good specially the closer.
Surprisingly awesome. Outlast who were legend before their debut album back in Atlanta show in this debut why the hype for them. An amazing album from a genere I dont really indulge in. I can honestly say ots one of the best rap albums Ive heard and even thou it was a little long and with to many intros outros interludes they somehow work to help the flow and coherence of the album. Assuming C-Lo Green was the producer he shows a unique style and approach to general rap and builds an album that breaks barriers of the rap culture cult. The tracks are funky and you dont know what to expect from song to song which makes it great. Big Boi can rap and Andre 3000 is a gangsta he can flow slow and sometimes quick showing a range not many had recorded at the time. Being a real complete artists and musician his falsettos and aporoach to mix hardcore rap and experimental rap with his towns distinctive sound makes this an unorecedented and top rap album of all time.
Really likeed thisbalbum and enjoyed it. Although I had NO clue what they were singing about. I appreciated the new sounds rhythym and tempo of the compositions. It was really needed cause Im getting a lot of albums I own or have listened to in my lifetime. I feel it was a bit commercial but thats OK. Happy music for clueless listeners like myself.
Their first album was too similar to pistols and other pioneers (which the memebers of PIL were part of) and although good as an album it was jist the same music. This second album they went a bit further and really experimented with new sounds and new wave and its a great concept album with it raw punk roots. Its a wierd album but musically better and very innovative for the post punk movement. Liked this one a lot. First song is really bad but the second track makes up for that one
Very smooth and easy listening. Song with the kid was kind of bad but otherwise its a cool and well produced. It goes by really fast you kind of doze off and it becomes a perfect background relaxing music.
Not much to critique about the best rock band ever. This is still early and although all the songs are good Im biased cause its my favorite band and I have hesrd every song they ever made and mostly know most of the lyrics. Not their best but their mid stuff is better than most bands greatest album. This is not even in the top 5 beatles album and its still a 5 ⭐️
I have always hated the intro. It actually pushed me away from the album as a college kid. Still I skipped and listened to the first song that I liked and then the singles. This album doesnt get enough credit (minus tje stupid intro) as ground breaking for the nu-metal genere and a whole generation. Its a really good aalbum and ai was surprised I can still love it as a grown as man. Its kind of a childish teen rant music but its still fun although rebellious at the same time.
Fun album very 60s clearly influenced the monkees and the partridge family. Happy music rock indie psycadelic to the bare minimum. Good musicians. To peace and love and commercial for my taste. Just to think that black sabbath was starting at that same time shows the record was a formula to like to the people.
What we had previously heard the few years earlier before low end theory was gangsta rap with ice-t, 2pac, nwa, eric b and others this was the album that started the movement of experimental rap that lead the way for fugees, wu-tang and other rappers attempting to create a fussion between rap and other generes, styles and cultures. The smooth jazzy low key relaxing vocals of Q-Tip and the contrasting more hard and powerful delivery of Phife and Jarobi with an extreme influence a knowledge of jazz made this a totally different sound never heard before in rap. De la soul had already had a different approach but this was a jaw dropping album cause the mix of styles simply killed it. This should be a top 10 rap album of all time. It has not been given the credit it deserves because of the way it changed rap music
A other amazing album. In context there wer enot many bands with this sound at the time and simply really cool and well produced. An underrated band that still needs to be more recognized. Not one single bad song in this album
This is an album that goes under the radar. Its absurdly great like a 5⭐️ great. I always though tuat we finally had found a successor to the throne left from joan jett and chressie hynde that had been left u filled with a few failed tries to everlasting greatness. Although the single made it to the top of the charts they left this amazing group in the cold after this album, when they should have gone all in. Great voice, grest sound, great producing, very original style, good writing, simply a very well put album that doesnt get the credit it deserves. I had not realized it was this good until today.
Pretty good I liked the vibe. A bit outdated and sinilar tracks bit still you can tell its just awesome musicians in their confort zone.
I think this is their best album although ot had no huge single that I can remember off the bat. Solid composing and very clean sound with great guitar player mike mills yet the instruments are complementing michale stipes amazing voice. You can actually feel hos emotions in every single song. Very solid album.
Rawkwon is a Master MC. Amazing flow and writing skills. Unfortunately he was one of the best out of all the rappers rapping the same style and way. I love this album but its not innovative or stands out from others from the same era. Great rapper but just similar to the genere at the time. Good album to listen
Im simply not am Elvis super fan. Ots always nice to hear and good music but kind of outdated to me with some exceptions. Album is ok but nothing special for me. He has better ones.
This dude is simply one of the best ever. Not only a Beatle but jad a successful solo career as well as his side projects and gigs. He had the privilege of being able to choose anyone and they would all say yes in a hearbeat. This Album is insane. Only a Beatle could do ballards, country and blues in the first half and get away with it. Album is short and almost perfect. I would have placed Imagine as either the last song of side A or last song of the album. I dont want to be a soldier should have been a single cause its an amazing song very true and powerful. Clearly it was not played. Album is a lottle too slow paced for me bit that was John’s strenght powerful lyrics and themes clear to understand for anyone who was listening. I give this an easy 5⭐️. Could have been better order but works either way. Id love to hear the songs that didint make it Im sure there are some gems there as well. Must listen album
Is this country ? Is this indie ? Its both. And its not my personal preference. Good music but nothing mindblowing. Its like music from a 18 century movie.
Really good album. Better now than whem it came out for me. It was too slow and maybe too social and compasionate talking about not only the the social-political-racial problems at the time but also talked about solutions for them. I was young and into gangsta rap and even thou I liked the singles and purchased it I mever gave it the airplay it deserved in the soundtrack of my life. Listening to it now is a different thing and mindset understanding better how bad the world is specifically the USA and its social problems which are the same as they were wjen the album was released and 100 years before that. This was a fusion of rap and funk with indie vibes which made it unique and innovative for its time. Arrested Development have not gotten the credit they deserve in the rap evolution.
Amazing rapping skills and versatility. Low key good rapping not the usual themes they were using back then. A change in the rap scene but never made it big unfortunately.
I dont like this type of indie music. Find it boring and although the lyrics are good its not enough for me. To me its background music while you work or do sonething else.
Great album lots of types and styles of music witha good mixture of ska and reggae and other influence. Well played good order kept me guessing what would pop out next.
Not for me. Progressive experimental jazz. Too long but songs are very predictable once they start so nothing really surprising for me. I feel that being from 1970 it was sonething new and different for the time and imagine it created quite a buzz but for me Ive seen more like it and the beatles didnexperimenting at its best.
Stevienis one of the greatest musicians ever and this alhum is irrefutable proof. A masterpiece. Simply breathtaking.
Really good Album sometimes I cant pick between this one and joshua tree. Only one mehhh song but the strong start with mt favorite U2 song Sunday Bloody Sunday makes you stay tunned as this song is powerful and simply insanly good. They dont do albums like this anymore.
Wouldnt be in my top million. After Portishead came out all this after is meh. Slow electronica is NOT my jam.
And in an unexpected turn of events, Otis Redding just became one of my favorites. The passion the voice the flow, this album is brilliant with covers of top hits at the time that were very risky for an artist. The air section amd guitar player are insane, crisp clean sound. Ive listened to Otis singles but mever a whole album. This was amazing I can definitively work with thos for mornings and at anytime honestly. Must listen and must add to any playlist
Not my type of music but thos album was amazingly great. I have it but never listen to it like I did today. The songwriting is really good and although its countryish and indie it really is rock as well a great balance of generes. It a solid album very well produced.
This is not my thing for sure. Didnt like any song although producing wise the album is good and makes sense.
This album changed my life and it was a main influence on me as a teen. I was into Ice-T and Public Enemy discovering social injustice rap along with Rage against the machine. Understanding the world we live and how minorities are bullied and abused over a century+ This screw everything I aint affraid to fight or speak up got my pokitical views in order to what I am today. Absolutely top 10 rap albums ever
I dislike Nick and his music but objectively speakong amd judging this CD is a masterpiece. Very well written its pretty twisted and amazing. I dont like his voice or slower songs bit thos one had a pop to it a spark in the tempo. Very good and he earned this 5 start with flying colours
Simply WOW. I dislike Ye, his public life which aint my problem and his conspiracy theories have put me off on him and his music has suffered from this. Having said that this album is a masterpiece that every old schooler gen xer should listen and have on rotation. Definitvely works better as an album over singles. Flawless and the producing is breathtaking top of the class sampling. I hate that I have to love this
Same song over and over. One continous song that sounds like its restarting again and again. On different one that I think was the single. These are soundtwck music for fight scenes or raves at movies. Not to sit down and listen. Fail
I ised to not like Elvis Costello when I was a kid in the 80s they would play his stuff every now and them in Puerto Rico he was not as big but I only liked a handfull of songs over time. I looked at him and he looked goofy and like a character created based on Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Now as am adult Im really into his music and his albums as wholes are amazing. Just clean fun pop rock musis for everyone with songs the length of a punk song. Very unique style and good writing. I listened to this 2 times in a day. Would have mever listened to it as an album if it werent for this initiative. Everyone should have some costello in their playlists. Everyone.
Good album but I have heard for so long its one of the best ever that it just doesnt live up to the hype. I lime it dont get me wrong and the last stretch is amazing with mrs robinson and hazy shades (which the bangles covered and made it better.) Great songwriting and pretty innovative stuff for the time.
Surprisingly good. Very varied I was surprised at the quality of the music.
Franks voice is always good to hear. All songs are same tone and tempo but they are somewhat special in a way. I dont feel thos works as an album cause there are 15 songs and they are basically the same but since one is good all others are good as well. It just gets a bit boring and repetitive after the 5th songs. Still Sinatra has a great soothing voice and a great delivery.
There is just something about Jimi. His voice deep but perfect dictation and his snooth guitar playong vrry innovative and unique to this day. Experimental yet true to blues. Its just so diferent to all other shit happening at the same time. But what always surprises me is the drummer that dude is sooooo underrated and amazing.
I thought the deal with god was for her to become rich and hit the charts and afterwards to retire up a damn hill in the Foula Island in Britain. Unfortunable they used her song in Staranger things and now we have to listen to her again after successfully taking her crappy music of the airwaves. Was a 0 in the 80s still a 0 for me. Despise her voice.
Good music probably new in the 70s for England. Had only heard 2-3 song before and obviously ghost town. But mice rythm and even thou I dont love ska pr 2 step this is a solid album. A little too long 24 songs its a lot but the nature of slow tempo ska is long songs so good for their genere.
Im not or have ever been into electronica misic ogerall bit thos album was a gamecjanger as it hit the airwaves and got on top of the charts. Got hammered with it as they tried to push the genere. I can say I started digging into the genere after this album came out and I wondered if there could be another playable album of that genere. There were not many for me. A group of my friends did have a short molly swallowing acid tripping raveish moment and I had to put up with all that crap. Drugs I didnt mind much but the crappy music that came with it was horrible. Album is slow and boring great for reading or sleeping. Some good sampling form blues and jazz music but thats about it. Not a fan of this. Took me all day to listen to ot again.
Dont really know hownto rate this. Was cool and experimental and really well produced but too long and maybe not my favorite musoc but objectively it is a great album
Really under appreciated band they were there for the transition of pop rock british invasion to the harder rock and were an integral part of that change. They dont get the credit they deseve ans Davis is a top notch guitar player as well. This album you can see the late stages of the pop rock amd see the newer harder guitar riff coming up. Really liked the album maybe a bit too long with over 20 songs and some are too popish for the others that are in the album. Im giving it 4 cause it could have been more rockish. The Beatles influence is undeniable but they did manage to do it in their own fashion
Pure blues. I had never heard a lot of songs of Muddy but understand hos importance in music as well as his insane guitar playing talent. This was mindblowing to me as of today. Had not heard an album of his completely and this was just perfect. Heard it twice not one single flaw. Tje sound was crazy for the era and the recording quality is outstanding. Great musicians and production. Im in awe
Simply one of the most original and influencial band ever. The only song I didnt like and think it was just put by force was the last one all other is perfct
Amazing band a bit toooo experimenal. Their crazy fussion of salsa and progressive rock is very unique taken from the carlos santana playbook and making their own thing. The salsa songs are insanly great but the sound experimental ones are sometimes too long and too paused for my personal liking. Production wise its a great album even thou I dont feel its their best one.
This is what blew up Metal as a genere. This albums importance is priceless. The most important album of Metal and still one of the very best
Good band always. Pretty consistent and reliable for hard rock. Personally although they are amazing musicians the showing off in every song and constant screaming takes a little bit off for me. Album is good but the screamming is simply too much by the first half.
Had never heard of thisbgorup ever in my life. Loved it and was in awe with this album smooth running well produced raw beginning of New Wave mixed with brit pop. Really good as in I still can’t believe I had never heard their music.
Wow thos album was so hard to find before streaming and iphones. Could never find it but first time listening to all the songs in their order and its just beautiful. Love it, this album is very important for the development of post-punk and influential to all the most important bands of post-punk, new wave and other generes. Songs are short amd sweet very clean punk and clear lyrics its like punk but cleaned and shinny. Really really good
Caught me off guard. Expected same music and ot was sharp, well recorded and no errors. Songs were long but didnt felt like it and had only 7. Now I feel like Ive missed out all this time on Curtis and didnt explore enough only being fed Barry, Sam and Marvin on my country’s airwaves. I feel robbed of this music in the soundtracknof my life
Of a mehhh genere that I used to dance but never listened at home or elsewhere, because it music to dance. Years later I actually heard it as a 20 something year old college suffering existencialist and saw and understood how goods the lyrics are on these songs. Emo before emo. All sad and shitty love songs of a heart broken person who sings to heal and try to fe tout of that depression by going out and enjoying life instead of staying home and wanting to die. Solid album woth flawless trnasition from song to song which actually was inpressive as some are very diferently paced than the others. 2 massive hits which still hold up and a really good supporting cast of songs. Only one song that I dont love.
As much as I dont really love neil or indie, I have to say objectivly this album is near perfect and will be added to my rotation. Maybe not as an album single songs may not work the same but this album is a masterpiece much better than harvest. Nice mix of 7 songs balanced perfectly between rock, indie, country and blues.
Indie NOT my thing. First song put me off right off the bat so other seemed weak. Some are coolish catchy tunes but nothing yells great to me and I live in Chicago and they are huge here and have a huge following but nothing that really attracts my attention. Tweedy has a cool voice for this type of music and the songwriting is pretty good. Overall good album though, just not my favorite genere. It has some radiohead influences in there with trippy sounds and I understand it was something new at the time for this crowd
This is one of the best if not the best heavy metal album of all time in my book. Remember when my older brother used to play the shit out of this record. He would let it play, both sides. The intro to Running with the debil was spooky to me as a lid that sound I had never heard before and the when Michael Nathony drops that bass line is just one of those wow music moments which are just a few in life. After the first song Eddie Van Halen drops the nastiest solo on Record in Eruption and simply just blows your mind as it was 100% sure at the time you had not heard anything like this before. The best debut album ever and including a cover that was just a masterpiece overtaking the originals impact for ever. Having a handsome crazy leadsingers who has to be regarded as one of the best rock frontmans ever, an insanly top notch drummer, one of the best bass players, composers and backing vocalist with the best guitar player ever is a recepie for success. The mix of punk and hard rock with the sound of Eddie’s guitar god sounds and how the killed the live performance made them instant legends and this album started what turned out to be the begining of the careers of one of the best if not the best hard rock band in the USA and probably the history of recorded music.
Surprised with this great band a fussion of a lot generes mixed extremly well. I will add to my playlist and listen to their other albums. Im sure they will be really good.
There is a reason why this is on of the best selling albums of all time. Simply a perfect flow and superb production and this dude is one of the musicians ever. Althougb Ive always felt its perfect today I didnt loved 2 songs cause they bring the feel of the album down too much and then it comes up again to finish with a bang. Even the none hits are great. Masterpiece
Wow just wow. Have mever been a fan until today. Thos is a beautiful album great composing amd writing all songs are chronological and have to do with the story she is telling. This is what an album should be, didnt realized they still made these. Incredible how I dont feel any song is outstanding on its own but as an album it is a masterpiece. Easy to listen to Didnt know or had heard one single song so glad I got to listen to it. Will put in my heavy rotation. Her voice sounds great. Only critique is that the pace is too slow for my taste but thats a personal. Its like a story line.
Understanding its early 80s ots cool for the time, dont think the music hold up. Most songs sounds like an 80s montage of a romantic comedy. I can see eddie murphy in beverly hills cop with any song. Its not bad for being brit pop and early synth pop it most have been great back then. Follow up acts were much much better but these guys paved the way for the better stuff so respect must be given at all time. Fu songs, happy songs but they lack something I cant pin point. The over use of the synth although part of the genere it gets boring. Still a strong 3 for the original music and for making something different at the time.
A unique band that has their own stuff going on. Its poetry with great musical notes as background music. I love this album short and sweet as well as great lyrics. 2 super famous singles but might ne underrated as an album. Although it doesnt have my favorites songs of theirs here this is the best album they released in my opinion.
Start by saying I love the Smiths. I feel Morrisey as good as he was as the lead singer in the smith his solo music is missing that johnny mars sound and spark. The album is good but too repetitive and his voice alone kind of the same over and over. Good voice and good lyrics but not as good as the smiths. Still a good album you can sit down and listen to.
What to me is one of the greatest unplugged albums ever if not the top 1, I kind of feel its cheating cause it a live amd they select somgs from all albums. Fortunately they chose an amazing set list that suits the unplugged performance. The fact that the recording is clear and not sloppy as they were makes you appreciate the subtleness in his voice and how good it could be when used as the main vehicle in their music. Being able to see how kirst and dave interacted as a band on stage when they were doing something they knew was more important than just playing for teens and altered mind stated people fucked up out of their minds is awesome and there was chemestry even when you can tell Kurt was the leader of the group. Really good album and a cover that is better than the original in Man who sold the world. Playlist was chosen very carefully to make the best out of each song and the acoustic arrangements for some were even better than their recording session version. Overall this is a masterpiece as an album.
This bamd started at the same exact time as Metallica. Rougher and more hardcore they are idolized and this album might be a strong reason why. Metallica was a bit less metal and had catchier music. Much better musicians than Metallica and their piers. These guys were the truest metalheads. This is a gem and a staple of metal history a must have for any rocker.
As much as I love Method and Wu-tang this album lacks some punch. I feel it is the beats and producers fault cause the lyrics are insanly great. I own this CD and heard it a bit but never got into it.
Been trying amd althogh music is good and easy listening I jist camt feel they are great. Just am above average band. Everyone should listen once and then move on the better stuff
Lupe is a Fiasco. Very overrated, the crescendo beats with classical music and jazzy trumpets I found vague amd not very good. Difffent rapping an a few cool songs but eeffinitively NOT a Album you can’t live without. Very repetitive overall. Great musical guests amd featurings.
Surprised by this album. Id like a few of her songs but she is a full amazing artists more than just a few hits. This album is really good short and varied songs with really good lyrics. Im a new fan of Liz
Took me blood sweat and tears to finish this album. I just dont see their “greatness”.
Wow amazing at loss for words. The pain. Dont know how she did this but I felt that shit in my heart Magical voice, amaizing feel, great song order, simply a masterpiece Ive never heard before
As of today one of my top all time albums. Different, daring, fresh, all songs surpsises not one sounds like any other, a masterpiece only one single I remember, beck is a genious and should be treated like rock royalty.
Pretty good I liked it. Music had already been done. Yet still cool they keep up after 40 years and keep doing it right
Its alright nothing great. Its a continuation of 80 commercial pop new wave. Well executed, fun and cool to know someone is still keeping the genere alive 50 years later. But being it instrumental sounds more like fillers in a mix between pet shop boys and erasure songs.
