Reviews (page 8 of 8)

Not too fun, I wanted betrer from iggy pop

c'est cool! Dirt est bien

Stooges eh massa mas as vezes vira dedo no cu e gritaria

way too jam band for my liking

Another album that I was pretty bored by. It was 45 minutes of "Rock"

Fing zu meiner allgemeinen Verwunderung zunächst interessant an, um dann mit T.V. Eye wieder das zu präsentieren, was ich bei Punk so unerträglich finde. Monotone, unerträgliche Ideenlosigkeit ohne Aussage.

Another "meh" album in a string of "meh" albums.

Another interesting album. It came across with lots of early punk vibes with jazzy highlights. My first inclination was to give it 2 stars, as it's not really my jam, but there's an argument to be made for 3 stars given the release date. We all know what a terrible judge of music I am by this point though: 2 stars it is.

Didnt stick out to me

Iggy Pop has a unique and expressive voice and but here it's unfortunately coupled with a bunch of aimless, hookless, and pointless grade-Z backing tracks that are so skeletal they don't even deserve to be called songs.

meeeh, olvidable

They're so concerned with being punk and edgy and chaotic they forgot to actually make any music

Sounds like noise to me

Impressed that Iggy Pop recorded this whole album with the microphone in his mouth! Seriously though. This is one of those albums that the boomers say was "real" music, then you look at the song 1970 and it's just a lyrically empty 5 min song about a blowjob. The only bit I'll give is the random free jazz that popped in, but a pretty shit album overall. 1.4/5 -> 1/5

genuinely noise

So bad I could only listen to it once. "music" combined with a "singer" I guess?

This is a vibe review. I would have given it a 2 or 3 other weeks, but the double Stooges in one week was too much for me. I will put on a shirt in defiance of Iggy Pop.

I really don’t like the Stooges. I can get how this could’ve sounded interesting to some past listener but this crap is so monotonous and boring god it’s impossible to listen to the entire album and it’s only 36 minutes. It just droned on and on and nothing is in front and nothing is interesting maybe that’s the point I don’t care one star.

Should be the three stooges. Wankers

1. ztreet - 1.5 2. loze - 1.5 3. eye - 1 4. dirt - 1 5. 1970 - 1 6. houze - 1 7. bluez - 1

Poop es senc erger chem sirum

It started out ok, but by track 5 (1970) it was giving me a headache. I persisted through and the next track was better. Then track 7 (L.A Blues) happened and I longed for the time when I was listening to track 5! Quickly turned it off so I could give it the 1 star it deserves from my self-imposed rating standards.

this was fucking awful. i mean come on.

Not at all my kind of thing. At best, it could be described as jazzy punk rock, but it seems to revel in lack of melody or harmony.

I did not like this

What a lot of noise

Not my sort of music

I know it's early but this may be the worst album I've ever heard. Praise be that they only had 7 songs. Zero stars.

Herrie

Not my style of music.

If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t enjoy this album at all. I do think everything about it was good, I just didn’t enjoy it.

At first, I was digging the energy of Fun House by The Stooges. It started to wane about song three, TV Eye. Then Dirt brought me back a little bit but the end of 1970 lost me. It just became noise. Fun House, the song, seemed to go on way too long. And the sax was exhausting. I was definitely ready for it to end. But then L.A. Blues started as chaotic as Fun House ended. Nope. It was straight up annoying. I had high hopes for this album but the only song that stuck with me was Down on the Street. The rest was just chaotic, driving noise. Gotta go 1 rating. No desire to hear this again. 1/5

On the one hand you could label it as cat's whining, on the other hand it sometimes has something

i hate the stooges, i can’t stand them, please shut up

Just don't see the attraction in this. The last track, "LA blues"(?) was just mayhem and noise to me.

Repetitive and noisy. Maybe kinda enjoyed 1 song.

A little too much grunting and screaming for my taste

Too much screaming, not enough singing

1 stern

Not really my cup of tea, but I'm sure it was quite influential?

This is just fucking awful.

Nope, punk rock needs to be more aggressive than this

gets a 1 because I've already heard 500 albums that sound exactly like this

Well, I've turned into my dad. It was just noisy screaming 😱

Garage rock that rocks hard. But also has a saxophone? Having a saxophone is an understatement, it is heavily featured

Forgive me if this review lacks detail. I’m writing this at 4am after a sleepless night. I can’t deal with warmth. Let me sleep in a fridge. Anyway, I’m finding more and more that Iggy was great at making the odd track. There’s no denying there are some real gems out there. But I consistently find it difficult to listen to an album in full because a lot of the music is crap. This album’s ratio favours the crap side.

Chaotic, undisciplined and far too loose. Noisy and disconnected. Maybe good for the rebellious youth of the 70s but not for today.

Sounded feral

I started out thinking this was a two-star album -- not my thing, but not unlistenable. That didn't last. Too much yelling.

Once again, as on Raw Power, the band is working its ass off but all for naught. The problem is the phony vocalist. It always sounds like he’s playing at being a rock star; doing what he thinks rock stars do. All that screaming and grunting and one pitch melodies combined with stupid lyrics is just laughable. That’s not just an adjective, I literally laughed at how bad Iggy Pop is. By the end of the album I was just angry that this garbage passes for “music” and that some idiot thinks this should be on a MUST HEAR list. Last album I gave them three stars because of the band, but the fact that they were on board for L.A. Blues negates their contributions this time - five minutes of noise! Really?! Utter trash.

I have always thought that Igyy Pop was an overhyped talentless mofo and this has done nothing to change that opinion. This is just horrible noise, with the worst track being L.A. Blues. The only positive is that it is mercifully short. I thought about giving it 2 stars because I managed to listen to all of it but that would be too much praise.

Foi ok, mas nao curti :/

No music on third album - only horrible noise

Please tell me I'm not in for more psychedelic rock... Seems like that's exactly what I'm in for. Yay. Okay, it's not like it's objectively terrible but it definitely isn't for me. It's a good thing there's only 7 songs on this album since 3 in a row are over 5 and a half minutes. Track 6 is almost 8 minutes and I'm so done. This dude makes a lot of random noises that seem like they're supposed to be screaming. Instead it's just annoying. This last track doesn't even seem like it's trying to be music. Just noise. Ew. 1/5 No thank you

Really bad. It sounds like the band wrote the music collaboratively and the lead sing said he would come to the recording session with the lyrics, and to not worry. Then he proceeded to sing gibberish on the spot during recording. Does someone feel FIIINEE, because that is half of what I hear in this record. I like punk a little, it I loathe this. Also, the guitar player is basically playing the same melodies through most of the album. He shouldn’t have had a guitar solo. 1 Star

Scream rock. Not impressed. Can’t say in anyway this music is uplifting or meaningful.

Rock demasiado cañero.

So terrible.

I know, let’s keep the drums and rhythm guitar keep a steady sound, while making the most obnoxious, annoying, screeching, unpleasant noises with vocals and a saxophone! How groundbreaking!

This was nowhere near what I needed today. A lot of unwanted, uninteresting, screamy meandering. No thank you.

This feels like bro rock from another era. The singer to me is pretty mid and the album is horny in a cringy way. I think someone who wanted to be edgy and say they knew real rock might point toward this album, then tell you that actually men are really the more oppressed gender. Guitar was good though.

Pola sata glupog urlikanja, ko te jebe iggy.

Too much guitar and a bit noisy

As if it's not bad enough that it's a Monday morning, now I have to listen to another goddamn zero-talent repetitive sludgy 3-note-faux-blues unimaginative bullshit platter topped with the shit-frosting of Iggy Pop's voice Stooges album. I'll admit that it is better than their first album in the same way that a stray dry cat shit is better than a puddle of wet vomit in the carpet. It's easier to clean up and move on with your day. 2/10 1 star.

Boring

An abomination

Hated it

actually bad

Ugly, sad, lost, despairing. Don't need it.

Hey, first time I get the same artist two days in a row! Got this album straight after "Raw Power" so it looks like he just fell down from the stage hahahh This cover is amazing though. But the actual music sucks. 2 I kinda want to give it a 1 just to have a cool cover on my summary. 1 Yup I'll do it, this really sucks Punk was a mistake

I get it, the band has Iggy Pop. However somehow in this 36 minute long album, I still wished the album would end. I didn't skip any songs but still just enough to be annoying.

No me gusta nada

Not a fan so far. Just sounds like a lot of loud noises and jumbled yelling. Kind of grating on my ears. Just not enjoyable to listen to. May check out some of their other albums.

Terrible. Just awful.

“A muddy load of sluggish, unimaginative rubbish heavily disguised by electricity and called American rock.”

Not for me I don't think. Too much smashing up the studio and not enough music

Couldn't finish it. Starts off so strong with "Down on the Street" and then devolves into something a grade 8 basement band would create. Got part way through "TV Eye" and that was it. Earned its original poor reception and bad sales.

2/10 - tough listen. very repetitive and the last 2 songs were bogus

Bunch of crap. A few good songs, but to out there for me

Not my style. Don't care for screaming and yelling during songs.

Not for me.

Too much screeching just makes it unlistenable
