Reviews (page 10 of 14)

There are some classic Beatles numbers on this, but some of the filler just doesn’t hit, so I can’t give this the full 5/5.

George Harrison foi muito gênio em "Within You Without You".

Ambitious, strange, and very well made. As far as concept albums go, the concept is pretty tame by modern standards. But as a lover of concept albums, I have to respect the doors that this album opened. The songs all, surprising for a Beatles record, have tight songwriting. Instrumentation, as always, is light in most cases, poppy, and well executed.

8,5/10

My fifth Beatles album. Definitely more fun than the other's I've had. The intro is good. With A Little Help From My Friends is a banger. I was looking forward to Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds after hearing so much about it, but it was a bit disappointing. Next few songs were all right. Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite had some fun music to it. Within You Without You was a pleasure to listen to, love the Indian music influence. When I'm Sixty Four was a lot of fun, great beat to it. Lovely Rita was also really nice. The rest of the album closes it out nicely. I had fun with this one, I think it should be considered much higher than Abbey Road. Best song: With A Little Help From My Friends

Has grown on me overtime. Easy to forget it was released in 1967! Of course, it must have sounded groundbreaking in its day. I think now it suffers from sounding less unique, which is a bit unfair as it probably had much influence on a lot of music which was to follow. On first listen, with C on a trip to Paris about a year ago, I'd have barely given it a 3*. I've listened to a lot of music since then though, and coming back to this I am seeing it in new light. Almost 5*, but a small bit of me says no. Not that it matters much! Sang "With a little help..." with my school choir back in the day. Lucy in the Sky, Getting Better, Within You Without You also top stuff. Personally prefer Revolver and Abbey Road. Amazing to see their progression though, as some of their older stuff included on this list have aged very poorly. This, certainly not!

I’ve heard several of these songs but the context really elevates all of them. I didn’t enjoy the back half as much, but man what an album.

Not the best Beatles album but a heady mix of psychedelia, whimsy and some good pop songs, led mostly by McCartney, adds up to an experimental statement that worked out quite well. 4/5

Drugs are a hell of a thing, huh?

It’s a good Beatles album Too bad they’re old

great concept!

Favorites: She's Leaving Home, With A Little Help From My Friends, A Day in the Life I mean, come on. It's wild, it's weird, but it's consistently wild and weird. Love it love it.

Might be my favourite Beatles album so far. I think the first song is fun. I like that it's an early example of a concept album but the concept is just "what if at the beginning and end we mentioned it was a band performing and in the middle we just do a bunch of songs." As with all Beatles albums it has some songs that I love and some that I really don't love. This one was more songs I love than songs I didn't. Gets a bit too weird at times and Within You Without You felt like it dragged, but I did really enjoy the album and I will listen again. As my friend said when I mentioned I was listening to it "it's got a lot of classic Beatles hits. It's a lot of 'oh this one.'" Fav song: She's Leaving Home - as a knitter I have to also mention When I'm Sixty Four for the knitting reference (and just being very sweet) Least fav: Within You Without You

This album made me realise that the song getting better by smash mouth from the cat in the hat movie was not in fact an original song but a cover. My world has been turned upside down. Apart from that the album had some decent enough songs but was a bit much at times. Not as excessive sitar as I was expecting though. Specific rating - 4.0 Fav song- a day in the life Least fav - within you without you

unsurprisingly this album is really good

It’s fine but not my style

Heard it before. This is such a goofy album, it's always fun to listen to it 4/5

what a surprise, the world's most revered band is really fucking good actually! loved the variety here, the flow of the album, the songwriting, the textures...a really rich and detailed work of art.

I mean, it's the Beatles. I feel that my enjoyment of the album was lessened by the sheer exposure to their music over the years. It's so ubiquitous that hearing these songs invokes associations with car commercials, department stores, countless movies and tv shows, driving in a friends car, etc. It's just not possible to distill an pure listening experience. That being said, it's still a pleasant experience. I loved the intro track and she's leaving home, but otherwise felt like it was hard to latch on to individual moments. Just pleasant vocal layering, harmonizing, and distinct (if not simple) instrumentals.

9/10 highly replayable. A distillation of legacy and late Beatles.

Muy escuchado pero es que es perfecto

Lucy better get down from there

rly good beatles record!

✅ (ja tinha ouvido antes) meu álbum favorito dos beatles até eu assistir mad men e revolver abrir totalmente pra mim. tem algumas skips mas with or without you é uma forte candidata para melhor música de todos os tempos (getting better / with a little help from my friends / shes leaving home são ótimas tmb)

Definitely in like the Top 7 Best Beatles albums

I'm never a huge Beatles fan, but this album was actually quite fun. I enjoyed it a lot.

8/10. Me ha gustado y eso que pensaba que lo había oído todo de los beatles

What a ride

Pretty nice!

An undeniable classic, but quite uneven.

no drugs to be seen here folks. none at all.

Obviously had listened to this album before. I had read ‘The Diving Bell and the Butterfly’ at school which focused a lot on ‘A Day in the Life’. Beyond that, I was mostly familiar with the big singles eg Lucy in the Sky, Sgt Pepper & With a Little Help. In terms of new thoughts, I liked ‘Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite’, felt like something a bit different from what I’d heard before. I liked the inclusion of the sitar (and other traditional indian instruments that I am less familiar with) in ‘Within You Without You’. The composition of this song is so different but I really loved it. The highlight has still got to be ‘A Day in the Life’. Honestly feels like a Tour de Force where you move through the song in stages. The use of strings, brass, vocalisations and the upbeat piano and drums in the background taking you through the song. A masterclass in storytelling, songwriting and musicality. The strings do so much to make you feel the discord at the tenser moments of the song and the use of building momentum and creating space is pretty groundbreaking. Overall, the album has some real highs and a few mids. Although it is solid as an album with some real standout songs, it is not super cohesive as an album so I think 4 stars feels warranted on that basis alone.

Very nice ambiant album with some cool drums and chorus. Might have missed some stuff as I'm deaf in one ear...

there are some beatles songs where i think they transcend their beatle-ness and i can actually process them outside of the veil of nostalgia and my gut reaction which is almost always “heeheehoohoo it’s the beatles 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁”. however sgt. pepper’s is a BEATLES album. there’s no other way to listen to it. that doesn’t make it bad but it does sort of limit it in my mind. i used to loathe ‘mr. kite’ but now i don’t really care. i LOVE the sgt. pepper reprise so much i wish it was ten hours long. fav tracks: lucy in the sky with diamonds; fixing a hole; within you without you; lovely rita; sgt. pepper (reprise); a day in the life

The songs that are good are gooooood. But I don’t love the run from Getting better all the way through when I’m sixty four (besides within you without you #george) so that is a sizeable chunk of the album that just doesn’t resonate with me. I do love hearing the experimentation here with reprises and storytelling throughout, and it does feel pretty cohesive. Fav tracks: Lucy in the sky with diamonds, within you without you, a day in the life

suuuper opener! little help from my friends findi voll okay, hans gern und vor allem d happiness aber finds nöd insaaane guet lucy in the sky isch SUUUPER han das lied voll vergesse mr kite isch fuunnnyy sehr art rock within you without you-beatles isch halt echt nüt für mich leider achhh stiiimmt sixty four hahaha jaaa es isch cute I guess aber puuuh stimmt lovely rita isch megaaa kenn doch meh lieder alsi denkt han aber mmmh OHHH A DAY IN THE LIFE STIMMT DIE BLÖSER hahahaha soo geil seeeehrseeehr cool!! hey ja es tutmer so leid, es het immer wieder cooli sache und es paar lieder wo ich als gsamts ding sehr guet find aber au mit villem chan ich schlussendlich doch eifach wenig ahfange

one of my favorite vinyls but the way they have it mixed for headphones is weird

Should be 4.5! A great album, but Within You Without You is borderline unlistenable.

Overrated but still fun!

Oh wow, this was kind of a jumpscare. I Knew Sgt. Pepper was in here, I just didn't think it would come up so soon, but it seems I now find myself reviewing one of the most awarded, acclaimed, and discussed albums *ever*. I find myself wondering if it is even possible to say something original about The Beatles in 2025, let alone *this* album, although my delusions of grandeur have carried me this far, and I see no reason to pull on the reins now. Although I have some hope in my heart that I can at least get close, somehow, I have never heard this album from front to back. I've heard some songs from it, and I've heard other Beatles albums, this one has (shockingly) just escaped me. Anyways, while I get why The Beatles are so often considered the greatest band ever, they've also historically done less for me than they seem to do for others. You may say I'm something of a Beatles skeptic, and as such, this album's reputation is sort of head turning to me, and I'm very interested in seeing how I feel about it. With all that said, it turns out that Sgt. Pepper *is* very good, however it is nowhere near the top of the list of my favorite albums ever. A lot of this album's reputation is based in its historical significance, but I think the reason this has stayed so potent for modern listeners is because, if you get The Beatles' sort of pop music, this is pretty close to 13 flawless pop songs in a row. That isn't to say I think its perfect, but it is to say that there really aren't many failed ideas or executions anywhere here, and I understand how someone could think it to be perfect. The overall sound of this album is pretty much iconic, the super bright, psychedelic atmosphere, the incredibly dense arrangement, and the kind of (generally) light, fun, and bubbly Beatles songs across this are pretty much the sound of a generation or two. Songs like Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and With A Little Help From My Friends are incredibly tight and catchy. Songs Like Fixing A Hole and Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite! are really interesting experiments with sound palette. And while this album's brightness and optimism is almost overwhelming at times, it can usually swing the pendulum back a little with some more tense passages and intricate songcraft. My favorite example of this is on When I'm Sixty Four, when we start with the pluckiest, bounciest little Paul McCartney ditty, and just before it almost loses me, it swings back with a super compelling sort of B section, and this makes the whole song just work incredibly well. That being said, there are songs here that just don't click for me. I'm not that into Getting Better, the melody just doesn't do it for me, and while I'm sure it would have been read differently at the time, I just don't buy the lyrics in 2025, knowing what we know about John Lennon. I also think Lovely Rita is just fine, and Good Morning Good Morning doesn't feel like it adds much here except for the fascinating intro. That being said, the worst song in my opinion, and the only one that I would argue may actually have anything wrong with it is Within You Without You. I love George Harrison as a songwriter, but I am just not that into his songs where he experiments with Indian music. The dense atmosphere is extremely cool, but for this song's length, I kind of think it may be a little under-developed. Although, I will say that Sgt. Pepper definitely sticks the landing. A Day In The Life is my absolute favorite song on here, its basically perfect, and ending the album with it is genius. At the end of what is so often considered The Beatles' psychedelic masterpiece, they bring the listener back to Earth with A Day In The Life, its earnest and almost sobering. After the experience of the rest of this album, The Beatles put you back into a realer world, acknowledging the sadnesses and beauties of day to day existence. Overall, I understand the reason this album is regarded the way that it is, and while it doesn't *quite* get me where it seems to get a lot of people, I do like it a lot!

Always loved this album, feels like we’re seeing the Beatles in concert everytime I hear it… around the middle of the album it gets quite dull, whilst not my favourite it still gets 4/5

Sounds good. Boppy. 4/5

Sergeant Peppers is a remarkable record in so many ways. To a greater or lesser extent from track to track it handles psychedelia well and has the typical Beatles enjoyable mix of rock songs and ballads. Getting Better is one of the highlights, with John nicely undercutting Paul’s emotional “it's getting better all the time” with a dour and cheeky “it couldn’t get much worse!” I also absolutely adore the deeply emotional and gut wrenching A Day in the Life which starts so beautifully hopeless and tragic, before resolving into something remarkably chipper. Unfortunately I struggle with the popular consensus that this is “one of the very best albums of all time” though. It’s great, but unless you’re strictly framing this in terms of its impact on wider culture and music, I can’t conceptualise it as a masterpiece.

Awesome, no doubt! The middle of the album kinda lost me for a while.

I enjoyed the show 4 stars

pretty bold for the times though certainly influenced by the culture. understandably influential for so many genres and sounds still heard today, but still impressive it became such a core album both for the Beatles for as avant-garde as it is.

++*: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Fixing a Hole, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) ++: With a Little Help from My Friends, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!, When I'm Sixty-Four, Lovely Rita, Good Morning Good Morning +: Getting Better, She's Leaving Home, Within You Without You, A Day in the Life 9,1/10

I don't think I get it

This is tough to review. I've never been a great lover of the Beatles, and I probably won't listen to this again any time soon, but at the same time the importance is undeniable, it was completely revolutionary for its time. I think this album is at its best when it is abstractly psychedelic, and at its worst when it leans into the vaudeville, circus band influences, which I think sometimes strike me as "theater kid". (Of course, admittedly, this is looking back at the album through the lens of all of its poor imitators.) 8/10

I don’t love the Beatles like some people love the Beatles but I can appreciate that this is a really strong and important album, even if it’s not one I’ll reach for often.

Reaally good, but honestly lacking a couple of big highlights for me.

So the fact of the matter is, this is the beatles fourth best album topped by revolver, rubber soul and abbey road. It enjoys the best ever in the world.Moniker basically, due to its timing, the beatles had blown up to be the most popular people ever to exist on earth. And they released an album, and it was good.So it was the greatest thing ever.Look, it's wonderfulI listened to it often I love the beatles. But on principle, it's a four star record

Great arrangements. Great performances. Very interesting soundscape all throughout with thought provoking lyrics and ear grabbing new sound textures.

Classic

heard this before but i'll give it a proper rate Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - 4/5 With A Little Help From My Friends - 5/5 Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - 5/5 Getting Better - 4/5 Fixing A Hole - 4/5 She's Leaving Home - 3/5 Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite! - 3/5 Within You Without You - 4/5 When I'm Sixty Four - 4/5 Lovely Rita - 4/5 Good Morning Good Morning - 3/5 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts... Reprise - no rating (too short) A Day In The Life - 5/5 Average score - 4/5

Honestly not the biggest fan, this is more of a 3.5, rounding up BECAUSE apparently tracks like Strawberry Fields were originally going to be on this record, but got pushed out early as singles by the prod company. Some unremarkable songs, but would listen to (and have listened to) much of this album before

This record always reminds me of my father. I remember being a kid in the 80s and my father coming home with a portable karaoke machine and us singing the title track together. This release from the Beatles represents a lot of experimentation, psychedelia, and plain silliness. It's happy, it's captivating and intriguing. An absolute classic in the music scene.

Really good! Fun vibes some classics here

some good songs

Would be better if half the album wasn't only in one side of my headphones.

Not sure if it is just the 2009 remaster but man this is mixed weird, maybe that's the point idk. Better than I remembered

Several great ones and a few which are odd.

Is there some celestial rule that demands you enjoy albums from your birth year? Generally, the Beatles are just... *fine* to me. I get the impact, I respect the talent—but I’m not putting them on my playlists. That said, Sgt. Pepper is so nice. Actually, capital-N Nice. High-five to 1967 for this one.

Bloated and overwrought, with too many Paul songs (and Paul at his music-hall cheesiest). It seems that many of the 5 ratings are rooted in nostalgia or basic respect, and I can understand that--this is the only Beatles album I listened to in full before age 20, as I inherited it from an uncle who died young--but I have never voluntarily listened to a single one of these songs since. I'm being generous giving it a 4.

Too much Paul. It needs balance. A day in the life is maybe the best song they ever did though. I'm giving it four stars but it's a very high four stars

Not my favourite, not my least favourite. Some great tunes, some ok tunes.

Don't think it's my favourite anymore, but it's for sure the Beatles album that really got me into them back in the day. Some songs I'm sick of, but still full of bangers.

This is fun! I like this album - good to listen to while working or just hanging out at home. This album cover is also sending me - omg! Would listen to this again. I realize that I am definitely listening to these albums as 'Would I listen to this again unprompted?' and not a "Is this good music?" as it seems that many of the reviews of this album have.

-Album sounds whole, not formulaic -Drugs -DRUGGGZZZ -Should have paid more attention in the middle -Sooo many animal sounds in good morning good morning (you could almost say: PeT SoUnDs) -day in the life??????? Sad also. -struggling to see how wanting to turn some one one was a relevant part of this song -historically prob very important but not as fun for me

Starts off much more fun than i remembered. Gets a little serious in places but largely remains a top class piece of pop

Something about this album feels nostalgic despite having never listened to it in full. I tend to lean on the side of not enjoying the Beatles but this album was enjoyable and set different moods through. 7.5/10.

I totally understand why this album is a classic. This is the Beatles at the peak of their creativity. However, I like some of their other albums better. Favorite song: she's leaving home.

A silly album

20% filler. 80% great

3.5 - Good

after listening to this alk the way through i saw a group of four hipsters on the l train who reminded me of a modern day sgt pepper era beatles

I’m not really a fan of The Beatles. That being said this was an absolute delight and reminded me my teenage years when one of my friends was obsessed with this album pretty much for the entirety of 2008-10.

One of my favorite bands, but at the same time Sgt. Pepper may not be in my top five Beatles albums. It’s a really good album with a theme. I’ve always enjoyed a great concept album and this is one of the originals. Opening four songs and A Day in the Life are classics. The remaining songs are either merely good or filler. Still a legendary album. 8.5/10

Like with the previous album, this isn't quite my cup of tea (pun intended) however this was very musically interesting and fun to listen to. Another easy 4/5.

Some bangers but mono recording shits me

This is such a great album. Not my favorite from the Beatles but probably top 3. It's got the weirdness that marked some of their later records, it's got super memorable songs, sitar, Ringo sings a song. Even still, rating is kind of tough, it's at least a solid 4, not sure if it quite reaches 5 for me. This is another example of why this list needs ratings out of 10 instead of 5. Is it a 5 star album? Yeah probably but I don't think it quite makes it for me. 4.5/5 but rounding down.

Abbey Road.

Never one of my favorite Beatles albums but it's hard to ignore how revolutionary it must have seemed when all the songs were new and not classics

Great album, but within you without you felt very out of place and interrupted the album. Might feel a lot more in place in the vinyl format as it's the first track on side B.

Classic and yeah… it’s good

Oh boy! It's hard to give this album an unbiased rating, either overly cynical or overly generous, so I'll give it my generic "pretty good" rating

Good album, though not something I would actively listen to

Ah, so excited. But you know what? I don't think I've ever listened to this the whole way through.

not their best nor is it my favorite of theirs but after a week a mid albums, this was like a godsend. i love u beatles!!!! 4.5

Not my favorite Beatles album, but still great.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band – The Beatles – 4.2/5 A classic from The Beatles, this album was a great listen—enjoyable, creative, and flowed effortlessly, making time pass quickly. The mix of experimental sounds and catchy melodies keeps it engaging, and I can see why it’s considered one of their best. I like The Beatles, and this album reinforces why they’re legendary.

A lot of classic, but well overplayed songs here. When I'm 64 makes me laugh a little because, well, 64 doesn't seem that far away anymore.

Better than I remember it

classic, not my favorite beatles but still very good

There's not a bad song on this album. There's a reason it's a classic.

Great A-side, okay B-side, which ends with one of their best songs ever

I genuinely don't know how anybody can dislike this album. It's just such a vibe all the way through. Of course you can dislike some parts of it, for instance I'm not a fan of reprises, so the reprise wasn't my favorite, but I get why it's there. I can see why people would dislike "Within You Without You" because it's something different, but I personally liked it. "A Day In The Life" was quite possibly the weirdest song I've heard all year, but there were parts I enjoyed about it. Now I've always had the opinion that The Beatles are SUPER overrated. Did listening to this album change that? A bit. I still think they are, but it slightly moved the needle for me. It is amazing how influential The Beatles have been, with their legacy still sparking conversations even after more than 60 years. 4.25 Favorite Song: When I'm Sixty Four Least Favorite: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)

What am I gonna say that changes how anyone thinks about this album? It's not my favorite Beatles album (really not even top 5 probably), but it's still better than a lot of stuff out there.

Very familiar with this album, all time classic and though I’m too young to have witnessed it first hand, I understand how groundbreaking this album was in terms of the recording process in general and in the Beatles own story

Classic album with some classic tracks.

Great album. Brought back many memories.

I mean, it's Sgt. Pepper's. Incredible. So diverse, and lots of great songs. There are some annoying ones, though.

The highs here are massive highs, but there’s some guff too.

For years, this was a permanent fixture at the top of 'best album ever' charts. When it hits, you can see why. Sgt Peppers, With a little help from my friends, a day in the life, Lucy... are stone cold classics, even with Ringo singing. And none of the songs are necessarily 'bad'. And yet...it left me wanting more. I'm not a fan of McCartney music hall type songs like When I'm 64, and something like She's Leaving Home is too saccharine, too 'drama for children's tv' for me. Undoubtedly a classic, but not one I'd reach for again. Can you complain about something being clichéd when it invented those clichés?

I own this on vinyl but haven't listened to it too many times. As a collection of music all released at the same time, it's extremely good, but for a Beatles album, it's just so-so. There are some excellent songs (With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, When I'm Sixty Four, A Day in the Life), but the rest aren't my favorite. That said, it's so good, I would happily listen to it weekly. Four stars, just because it isn't anywhere near what I know the Beatles can do (and I know it will be rated higher by most Beatles fans).

such a good album still holds up so well. love all the dif instruments they use. fav song always gonna be being for the benefit of mr kite but sgt peppers (title track) lucy in the sky and when im 64 also top contenders for me. most annoying song within you without you

I mean... Its all the shenanigans of the Beatles shoved into an album. When I'm sixty four makes my ears bleed with McCartneys incessant oompa oompa vibes and "I used to beat my Woman" in Its Getting Better is pretty insane. Sudden breakbeat drums from my guy? What? Regardless, A day in the life is so fucking good but why does McCartney have to ruin it?

Lovely recording. Very enjoyable listen

I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the album. I'm not a huge Beatles fan so I didn't expect to be a pleasant experience. I completely forgot how it is their most experimental album. It's fun and unpredictable and while listening I could see where other rock/indie bands got their inspiration for their sounds. It's pretty good.

Almost Perfect - 4.5

Contains some of the best Beatles songs but kind of lulls in the middle. Almost perfect but it's NOT

Classic

Wow, two Beatles albums already as part of my 1001 Albums journey! I love this album… just nowhere near as much as several other Beatles albums; this wouldn’t even make my top three, probably landing at number five. And it’s interesting to see how it’s Baroque-style theme has fallen a bit out of favor over the years, once often landing at at least top five albums of all time if not number one on Rolling Stone’s lists, but often struggling to stay in the top 25 these days. Personally I like every track except “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” (both versions), “Fixing a Hole” and “She’s Leaving Home”. The reality is there’s not a discography like the Beatles; not a single album is bad or even mediocre. Because of this I’m open to being called nuts but I may be grading this on a curve, giving it four out of five stars.

Well, it's definitely quite good, and I do love the happy songs on here. Some of the lyrics are... questionable, but there's no denying that the Beatles deserve credit for paving the way for so many artists and bands.

Most of the songs are fun and give a good kick up the rear. But then the occasional strangeness comes along that is hard to vibe with. I feel almost peer-pressured to not give it lower than a four. To my modern sensibilities most of the then groundbreaking stuff is done by everyone now. So it just sounds less impressive. Oh well, second beatles album done, it was better than plastic ono, a four it is.

Beat, 1967 -> 4

Vocal forward, always love the harmonies and trippy reverb guitar. I used to have this on vinyl in high school, so it’s been a while since my last listen through. Each song just bounces along, marching and smelling the roses along the way. A few songs with more eastern influences, and then a random Maxwell’s silver hammer bell appears and you are brought back to the west. Good Morning Good Morning guitar solo rips. 3.65/5

Quite surprised how much I enjoyed this one. I may need to give another listen to properly give certain parts attention. This album gives me a respect for the beatles I didn't have before.

Classic

Not my favorites songs from The Beatles, but still it is the The Beatles

:) listen again

I really like "With a Little Help from My Friends" and "When I'm Sixty-Four," and sort of like several others (including "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "Getting Better").

Some of their best work, but also some weaker tracks towards the end.

Great listen

An exceptional album - apart from a slight dip in the middle this would be a 5

Not as weird as they were trying to make it. The vocal distortions on lucy in the sky were just ridiculously bad and ruined what would otherwise be a great song. I did really enjoy Being for the benefit of mr kite.

Almost the pinnacle of silliness for the Beatles, although Yellow Submarine was probably the tipey top. It's amazing and really fun, and was way ahead of its time in terms of complexity. They absolutely deserve their legendary status. I actually just got back from visiting Liverpool for NYE 2025, but I skipped the Beatles Museum. Still, this feels lucky.

4- Stars (10/15)

Not a huge beatles listener but I enjoyed this album, has inpsired me to listen to more :)

i have long been a “beatles are overrated” kind of guy but i loved this listen so much. it makes me understand more of it. really good songwriting and just super fun to listen to and instrumentally stellar. nice one! ya got me

Obviously a classic to end all classics, but it might be slightly dragged down by that reputation to modern audiences. Still has some all timers, but not my favourite Beatles album. 4/5

a good album, a lot of songs were just too slow for my personal taste

4,5/5. Goeie herinneringen aan dit album, paar goeie nummers, niet zo standaard britpop. Beetje zelfde niveau als LA Woman dit voor mij, top album

It's the fucking Beatles! How can you not like them.

It's a classic

Probably the best pop album ever made and worthy of all the praise it gets

Day 0009/1001 of One Album a Day Fav tracks: With a Little Help From My Friends, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, A Day in the Life, She's Leaving Home, A Day in the Life Worst Tracks: Within You Without You

When I'm 64 is one of my favourite Beatles songs. Add to it a couple of hits and you have a good album. It does contain a couple of forgettable pieces, and a presumptuous thing or two. 8/10

4.5 Probably should be a 5 but there are other Beatles records I like more. The outstanding production really stood out. McCartneys bass playing is so interesting and a perfect fit to the songs.

It is one of the classic albums of all time. Reading some of the other reviews giving it a low score for being disjointed and having some week tracks I think miss the point. I think you need to look at the era, innovation and songwriting there is a lot that makes this revolutionary. Stand out tracks: - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - With a Little Help from my Friends - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - Getting better - She's leaving home - When I'm sixty four - A Day in the Life

It was my least favorite album from them, but now I grown up, I know it's wonderful, magical, powerful, funny, and creative.

It’s Sgt. Pepper’s

I mean... it's the bloody bee'ols! How could you not like it? Not as chock-full of bangers as I remembered/expected, but still a solid album with a lot of hits that paved the way for many concept albums after it. When I'm 64 is slept on, what a banger! There are a few duds in the middle but overall, hell yeah sergeant peepers.

this might be sacrilege but this album was fine. it's the bloody beatles, i know. but all their other albums are much better on the song front than this one. the best thing about this album is easily the cover art. there are some big singles, but there's also a ton of mediocre filler... and the worst part is when they pull out the sitar for ten minutes because they're super into that psychedelic-mysticism-cultural-appropriation nonsense this year. there's something about british men claiming indian culture for their own that feels so familiar, but i just can't put my finger on it... /s the title track and reprise are the only ones that really felt like the show/experience they were supposedly going for here (and maybe mr. kite but that's not a good song other than the part about henry the horse). otherwise it's just a slapdash compilation of disjointed songs, of which several made no impression on me whatsoever even after three full listens in the last 24 hours - getting better, she's leaving home, within you without you, and good morning good morning are the worst offenders here. but as we all know, the songs that are good are VERY good, and a real high water mark for the beatles' output. if only the rest of the album were on that level of quality... favorites: sgt. pepper's, friends, lucy, 64, sgt. pepper's reprise, a day in the life

Ah yes, the beginnings of the greatest collaboration - Beatles and drugs. Given that they only had 4 track tapes, the production is astoundingly multi-faceted and stellar. Lennon's and McCartney's penmanship gets more abstract and intricate, the use of instruments that are not common in the anglosphere, esp. the sitar, is a welcome change of pace. I could do without a few pop elements, for example in the chorus of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". (Listened to 2017 remastering) Standout Tracks: She's Leaving Home, Within You and Without You, A Day in the Life, Good Morning Good Morning

An incredible 3 songs to start off the album. Enjoyed the Indian/sitar influence on some of the songs too. Again, not the Beatles best album but still a damn good one. 8.25/10 (4.125/5)

I have listened to this one before but not for some time. On first listen I was only invested in a number of the singles which I would include in some of my favourite Beatles songs. By the third listen I was finding a new found respect for a number of other songs that I’d probably previously thought of as album fillers and not that great. The album as a whole was much better than I had remembered. Ok so it’s not perfect and a couple of songs let the side down a bit but overall it’s definitely a good album.

Only 4 years after love me do and holding hands and the Beatles have adopted an alter ego and are writing Psychedelic rock songs inspired by Indian spirituality and LSD! There’s the usual fluctuations in quality, but somehow as a concept record it works well here. Top track: A day in the life, which is an awesome song.

I'm still not a huge Beatles fan. And this album doesn't have my favorite songs. But I'm still going to rate it 4*, based on Day in the Life, mostly. I also didn't realize With a Little Help From My Friends was written by Ringo. Props to Mr. Starr. Plus, I'm sure the album had an outsized influence on most music that came after it.

Overall liked the Beatles prior to this though haven’t properly listened to their albums before now. I enjoy the mix of instruments used. Definitely something I’d wake up to.. in a good way. Good mix of upbeat and calm. Being for the Benefit of Mister Kite! sounds like it was sound by a barbershop quartet, which I mean is pretty accurate. A lot of psychedelic charm to it, I find it fascinating. Favorite- A Day in The Life (Felt like a sort of theatrical performance. Very cool very awesome). Least Favorite- Within You Without You (Sorry! Look, it’s not really a song I’d always be in the mood for. I think it’s good but something about it… I don't know? Too much psychedelics for my liking). Honorable Mentions- Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds, Being for the Benefit of Mister Kite, and Good Morning Good Morning

I have nothing new or interesting to say about this. 4/5

Classic timeless album, great selection of songs.

I am brave enough to tell it like it is. Most overrated album in The Beatles catalog even though it ends with arguably their best song. 4 stars! I said it.

So many incredible songs on here but also a couple of duds. Still sounds remarkably modern now I think about it. Production quality hasn't gone down at all, or at least doesn't seem any lesser comparing to modern music. George's sitar song is a miss, Mr. Kite is strange but not intriguingly so, and Good Morning is . . . I know I didn't like it but I don't even remember why. All in all, great album dragged down by a couple duds.

great but at one point got wayyyy too much hype

Lovely

A classic no doubt and one of the most influential and experimental albums of all time. Not my favorite Beatles album, but a very good one nonetheless, A Day in the Life is one of my favorite Beatles songs, I have a poster of this album hanging above my bed lol. Also popularized the idea of a concept album.

Classic album. Strong start, dips slightly in the middle. Some of Paul's contribution such as She's Leaving Home and When I'm Sixty Four feel a bit too playful.

A classic

Classic.

A lot of people think of this record when they think of the word "album" The strange thing is that the first two songs sound like an album closer. Within You Without You into When Im 64 is a personal favorite beatles moment for me both songs are so fun. Now is this a 5 outta 5? No. But its making the case for it. a couple of tracks with a little less punch than the rest. Still, it deserves much of the generational hype.

Pas mon album préféré des Beatles, malgré le concept innovateur et l’exploration musicale. Je connecte moins avec les textes et l’ambiance. Par contre, A Day in the Life en finale est magistrale

Apart from the title track, the rest were more mellow Beatles, but this was great overall. Stand-out: With a Little Help from My Friends

been a rough couple weeks and "with a little help from my friends" did a lot for me. so there you go, four stars

full of memorable hits, a great album verging on 5 stars though a couple steps below Revolver

It’s the sgt pepper lonely heard clubs band ! While Not my fav Beatle, this album is beautiful. She’s leaving home is brilliant , a day in life didn’t lick with me as much . Most other songs are really fun , def enjoyed the thestry ones the most out the rest .. I’m sure I’ll have a couple of 5 Beatles albums ( revolver) but this one is just a tad below

It's a great Beatles album. The middle lacks a little but overall solid and a good listen.

Suprisingly lovely time

Two songs about drugs by track 3 and then a song that starts by bitching about teachers... I never realized how much this album gives off the vibe of that 14-year-old girl who got drunk once while on vacation in Italy with her parents and then won't ever stop talking about her wine preferences. We get it. You did drugs. Still, this was a fun listen.

In which a metamorphosis occurs, seemingly almost in real-time. Young players become mature artists. Hokey pop takes a psychedelic turn. The end of the 60s is foreshadowed, even while that decade is barely starting to peak (a peak both created and destroyed by this record as much as anything). The band cements its status as giga-stars while at the same time renouncing the accompanying circus. All while playing the meta game of literally creating the circus. I feel slightly mad not giving this a 5 but I reckon that even though on cultural impact, this is a 5 all day, there are better albums, and even some better records by the Beatles. It's hard to listen afresh, as it is a pillar of my early childhood. It's phenomenal, it's just that I no longer feel a drive to listen to it very often.

Loved some songs (my mom def used to play some on repeat) and others were pretty mid. Overall good album!

This was a fun album, definitely the best Beatles album I've heard. Favorite songs were: 2. With a Little Help From My Friends 7. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite 8/10

I know this an absolutely classic album and it's good but it's not mind blowing.

Nice album, cool psychedelic sounds, really like she’s leaving home, good morning good morning, lovely Rita

Hard to find too much fault. Beatles albums may come down to preference at some point… 4.5 because it’s not my fave era and skipped 2 songs.

Another solid entry from the Beatles. I know a lot of people rate this one, and while I liked it, I thought it dipped more than some of their other albums. When I'm Sixty Four was one I hadn't heard before that I really enjoyed.

Well well well, here you are again Beatles, a lesser well known album of yours but still in your Certified bangers list. This is gonna be hard for me to rate, its probably an automatic 4/5 because how could I objectively review one of the GOATs that is the Beatles and one of their best albums. With a Little Help From My Friends: super fun tune that I didn't know what Ringo singing gg Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds: YAY LSD admittedly the only song I knew about on the album before. She's Leaving Home Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! super fun carnival music?!

I can't imagine the amount of ink that has been spilled over this album. In that vein - I have little to offer other than - not my favorite beatles album. Far from it. Probably comes in 6 or 7 for me. But that just me. A mild 4.

3.5★. A seminal album partly because it's one of the earlier concept albums... except of course there is no overarching thematic or sonic ideas here, the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band framing device being employed only to open and close the show (and not even that, given that A Day in The Life is the actual closer). Anyhow, this is probably the most overrated Beatles album; I haven't listened to Let It Be sufficiently but this seems comfortably to be the worst collection of McCartney song, and he seems to be disproportionately represented here compared to the other albums. She's Leaving Home is the only songs of his that I like, and that lonely exception isn't exactly a career or album defining song. Nonetheless, an overrated Beatles album is still a pretty good one. With A Little Help From My Friends is a lovely song (and credit where credit due, McCartney was the primary writer); Within You Without You is one of the most singular and wonderfully out-there Beatles songs; and when all else fails, Lennon is at the rescue, creating carnivalesque psychedelia (Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite!) and everyday surrealism (the inimitable A Day In The Life) from, we are told, newspaper clippings. No one will ever convince me that they were comparable songwriters, whatever else musical talents Paul might have (had). (Which isn't to say that he isn't a great songwriter in his own right, there's just levels to it.)

What can I say that hasn’t been said. That last song is one of the best of the Beatles IMO.

I don't want to get too ahead of myself here, but these guys just might be able to save Pepperland from the Blue Meanies...

Solid album. Some classic great songs.

Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite is too ominous, Within You Without You is too slow; I especially like When I’m 64

I don’t like Mr kite or the Indian song

It's the Beatles so it's great, but it's not my favorite of theirs.

Imagine not knowing much about the Beatles aside from songs you heard your grandpa play and then seeing this track listing. The only other album that would blow a persons mind would be the White album. Listen, this is the Beatles, you either like this or not. I don’t believe that this album is the be all and end all of Beatles albums. After the big 3 tracks at the start, it does fade a bit. Choice cut: When I’m 64

I mean its a classic for a reason right?

I thought I’d be giving this a 5 but so many of the tracks do not holdup to the brilliance around them. Lucy, and a day in the life are 2 of the best songs ever written imo. But the rest of the album doesn’t do as much for me.

Rating a Beatles album is like picking a favourite child.

iconic beatles album, unfortunately for them I have got too used to beatles songs so I didn't really notice them

This is probably my 2nd least favorite Beatles album, but still better than most.

Difficult to review fairly as so much of this is ubiquitous. Some of it is objectively fantastic but there's a good bunch which is overly twee and now we're so far removed from the music hall influences, hasn't really stood the test of time so well

This is a difficult one to rate. Much more adventerous than other pop music at the time, it was my favorite Beatles album as a youth... but now I think it starts to drop off on the second side. Paul's bass playing throughout is marvelous but I feel like with the execption of a couple songs the last half is weak.

Overall a really good album. A few of the songs feel ever so slightly out of place or don’t quite appeal to me/have bits that are don’t feel quite right. Overall 4/5 but only just not a 5/5

OK here it is.... the behemoth of great albums. It is of course very heavily flawed. Good Morning and Mr Kite are nonsense. Ringos song is naff and that sitar thing at the start of side 2 is a big mistake. Having said that it is revolutionary and epic. Easy 4.

A damn near perfect album, but not as strong as at least one other of theirs so can't give it a full five.

Soo close to a five for me. The opening and closing tracks promise an entire world to open before your eyes. A lot of the tracks within deliver, but there are a few stinkers for me. A Day in the Life is my favorite Beatles track of all time. And there are songs here that inspired entire genres. Overall, bravo boys, thanks for launching something amazing

Culturally appropriative carnival music I kinda loved

Plenty of terrific moments - so much to love.

Inte mitt favoritalbum av Beatles Favoritlåt: With a little help from my friends

It is good. A little front loaded for songs but does finish off strong. Will I listen to again: 75%

It's drug Beatles.

Classic album. I enjoy The Beatles and feel like I really love many of their songs and others are easier skips for me, which always leaves me torn when rating their albums.

I’ll admit that I approached this pretty cynically - and to be honest, I’m still not entirely sure why it’s the highest rated album on this list - but it’s good. I don’t think I had ever listened to the album in its entirety, and aside from the big hits, there are some lesser-known gems too (“Within You Without You” was a standout for me). There’s charm, heart, and wit here. Although it lacks the emotional punch for me to give it a full five stars, even I can appreciate it as someone who sometimes finds The Beatles overrated. That said…I can’t help but wonder how much of my rating is caught up in the expectation and hype and history of this album, how much of it is obligation. In my truest heart, I’m still not sure I really get it.

Nice, knew most of it

Beatles are almost always a fun, solid listen. They aren't a favorite, but you can't go wrong with most of their discography

It was fun to hear this the whole way through and remember what a classic it is. Such an iconic sound and style. I love that it is quite surreal and touches on psychedelic riffs and goes in lots of different places

Good stuff, these guys are gonna be big.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I think this album is over rated. I'm not saying it's a bad album, far from it. And yes it deserves praise for being groundbreaking, but musically I find it a bit lacking. There's good songs on here, along with some duds. I certainly don't think this deserves the moniker of best album of all time.

could i write poetry to this? n

Well, ok

A really cool trip, that made me so in love with music when I was a kid. Coming back to it, it still sounds so concise and wonderful, but Within You Without You is not one of the best experiements with the sitar

Finally, a Beatles album on my journey. This is not only an album I've listened to before but one of the most notable. There's been plenty said about Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band through the decades since its release, with the big takeaway being just how experimental and pivotal it was for popular music during the counterculture of the late 60s. It's hard to imagine how many mainstream groups before 1967 had songs like "A Day in the Life" with its swelling crescendo or "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" with its Hammond organ-driven carnival madness. It's a good kind of weird, and the boys have taken full advantage of different instruments and studio techniques since they stopped touring. Other highlights include the comb and paper on the instrumental breaks of "Lovely Rita", the clarinets on "When I'm Sixty Four", the tambura and congas breakdown for the final verse of the otherwise uptempo "Getting Better", the harpsichord used throughout "Fixing a Hole", and the Indian instrumentation and overtly spiritual lyrics of "Within You Without You". That all said, my main criticism of Sgt. Pepper is the replay value. The album is bookended by interlude pieces of the boys identifying as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band and the songs in between are performances from said band. It adds to the overall weirdness, and the opening track and reprise are well executed, though those songs do not get a lot of repeat listens out of me because they serve as loose narratives that segue into their respective next tracks. Also, while I appreciate the song construction and finality of "A Day in the Life", the high-pitched tone and spliced studio chatter at the end come off as a weird afterthought and don't meaningfully contribute to the overall track. Overall, there's a reason why this album usually gets brought up when discussing the Beatles. It's one of those records that in its drug-induced madness helped widen the landscape for popular music. Give it a chance.

Iconic classics album.every track a hit.

Pretty alright. Still, they need more chicks in this lonely hearts club. A real sausage fest as it stands

I enjoyed it

Great album of classics and fun songs from the Beatles. Not the most cohesive, but a fun mix of songs that I love. Grant finds When I’m 64 to be relatable today.

Classic for a reason. Huge juxtaposition between songs such as within you and she’s leaving home but somehow it works 8/10

Not the best album in their discography but had a bunch of highlights.

my use of the daily 1001 albums generator (sticking strictly to cursory listens rather then full multi listen multi day chewings like i usually do now) begins by: derailing my already occurring beatles revisit project. yay! as such i will leave it to that project to fully reckon with my weird relationship to this thing. i have instinctively strong reactions to all of the peak period beatles records Except this one...something about its particular showmanship keeps me at a weird distance even tho all the songs r nice. it makes me feel insane honestly, just within the boundaries of my own taste...this is an eccentric, striking, detailed piece of art that contributed dna to basically all of my favorite aesthetically unified pop albums from hounds of love to skylarking to the works of the moody blues. hope this gets easier to reckon with when i reach it in chronological order, but none of this difficulty is from lack of trying or experience...i have listened to Way too much beatles, but this is the only record so far where i rly feel that fact weighing on me

with a little help from my friends lucy in the sky with diamonds

I’ve been waiting for a Beatles record to come up. Never listened to an album in its entirety so looking forward to this. It should be noted I always thought the Beatles were overrated. Yeah it is fine I’m Not blown away.

What can said that’s not already been said… a game changer at the time and remains an interesting enough musical oddity to retain its charm….

This music was probably a play at some point, or a musical that I haven't been much aware of. I wonder if this was very odd to fanatical Beatles fans at the time.

That was a good album.

One of the main albums that my Dad went out and bought, I learned most of the words, and loved it, playing many time!! 4 stars

Much more enjoyable than the other Beatles stuff. Their experimental phase created some more fun music, rather than the early pop stuff that is whiney and samey. 4/5

Not my favorite from them but still an awesome album

Kinda expected this to be an automatic 5, I almost gave it 3. Brilliant at their best, much of it felt like filler. Can't say I am a huge Beatles fan, but I do respect them. Probably first time listening to this in entirety. Dunno - just expected more from the songs I hadn't heard 1000 times before.

This album in isolation is very solid but with context of what music was sounding like before it's a huge achievement. You could spend an entire review talking about the experimental nature with rebranding the band and the cover, but the music alone does enough. Great instrumental work that stays forward enough to all stand out when it needs to. Also the amount of instrumental complexity across the album is fantastic. The songs are some of their best, but lyrically and vocally. The only real downside is there isn't a ton of consistency throughout the album, which feels like a gap when the first song pitches it as an experience. Anyone who says this is the best album may be overselling or overgeneralizing some, but anyone who says it's awful is so clearly wrong.

Iconic album cover. Looking over the track list pretty sure I already know at least a third of them. Little Help from my friends, so catchy. Lucy in the Sky tho odd, works. Getting Better seems off. Fixing a Hole not one I recognized but I really liked. A couple songs that don't click... this album is an odd leftover salad of songs When I'm sixty-Four is pleasant. What is going on with this song Good Morning Good Morning? Hmmm break beat on the Reprise. Strong finish. This was a strange disjointed album. Production and a good chunk of songs make this worth checking out. Almost want to give this a 3 for feeling insane.

a classic. nothing i can say that hasn't been said

Kinda old tbh. And the military theme really dropped off after the intro

The opening, she's leaving home, and a day in the life are some of the best songs ever. Not my fave beatles, but a very solid pick

This album is good. The framing device of it being a different band playing the music is a little goofy but charming. I like the use of a Clarinet quartet on When I’m Sixty Four. In terms of Beatles albums I find myself going back to Revolver and Abbey Road significantly more than this album. It drags a bit in the middle with For The Benefit of Mr. Kite, and Within You Without You.

For the benefit of Mr Kite

This is not my favorite Beatles - it's a little all over the place. But there are undeniable songs here and Day in the Life is a fantastic closer.

Impressive. Demonstrates so many different influences, sounds, production techniques - yet doesn't come across as a mess, nor particularly dated. I don't love the lyrics, and the songs that have more overt British music hall influences are the ones I like the least. Best track - the Ravi Shankar / pop mashup of 'Within You Without You'.

Loved. Especially Lucy in the sky with diamonds and when I'm 64.

It had a lot of nostalgia power for me.

This hit the nostalgia for me.. my dad used to watch the Sgt Peppers movie and i remember all of these

Partly heard before Saved 8/13 Top track: A Day in the Life

It’s a really good album, but honestly not my fave Fab Four album. But close!

3.8 - I used to think the beatles were overrated but have recently changed my mind. This album for me has 3-4 good songs and the rest for me is just a bit wet. Maybe I come back to it and enjoy it more once I've finished the beatles journey.

The first four tracks I really enjoyed. Then the middle third I find to be a bit up and down. Some very strange campy Paul songs like When I’m Sixty-Four and Lovely Rita, but the awesome eastern-influenced Within You Without You sandwiched in that run. I like that track a lot, but some aspects are very reminiscent of Tomorrow Never Knows. There is something very weird about this album that just works. Even though I find the lyrics oftentime to be ludicrously mundane and childish or just annoying, the high points are very high, and the Beatles feel like a band on top of their game. Fave Tracks: Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, With a Little Help from My Friends, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Within You Without You 4.4/5

Liked it!

I loved listening to this album, it was the perfect listen for a train ride on a sunny day.

Very unserious album, but that is the appeal for me.

- fun concept album - really great musicianship with lots of variety - sounds were a little less interesting near the end

LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS LUCNTHSKY WIDIAMON LUNSKY WDIMN LUSKDIM LSD ELLE ESSE DIIII

This one is in the running for favorite Beatles album, I’d have to go back and look at all of them but this was was super fun and had some classics. With a little help, LSD, getting better, and within you without you.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is one of The Beatles' most important albums and contains hits such as; With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and A Day In The Life. The album sounds good and the songs aren't too upbeat. The tracks I enjoy the most are; With A Little Help From My Friends and When I'm Sixty Four.

As a big Beatles fan I’m lower on Peppers than some. I don’t think this album is even top 3 in their discography but still, it has some great high points. Getting Better, Within You Without You, and A Day In The Life are my main highlights of the album.

Classic songs that I like, it’s the Beatles lol what can I say

Woo the Beatles... yeah yeah yeah it's good, of course it is lol

Great classic album. Hard not to like.

Everything from Rubber Soul onward is a 4 or 5. I like this one but maybe not quite as much as some of the other later albums.

This is often listed as the best album of all time. I get its historical importance and impact on modern music, but I also think that you had to be there. It’s great, but I’ll take Revolver and Abbey Road over this for a more enjoyable Beatles experience.

I have this one. It has some iconic songs like Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and A Day In The Life. I quite like She's Leaving Home and When I'm Sixty Four as well. I think it's an odd choice not to end with the reprise, but I guess it was to fake us out with that weird outro of A Day In The Life.

Mr Kite, what a guy. Amazing. We used to sing 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds' in Primary School. Interesting choice. The melodies in this album are magnificent.

Within you without you......wow. I had never heard that song until today. So amazing. Obviously little ole Lucy is a masterpiece. A day in the life *chef's kiss* just a wonderful way to end the album. Very wonderful overall, better than I thought honestly. Need to dive into the Beatle's songs I haven't heard before because they have such an extensive discography

"See I think drugs have done some good things for us, I really do, and if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your CDs and burn 'em. 'cause you know the musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years....rrrrrrrrreal fucking high on drugs." - Bill Hicks

George love India ❤️

Some all time classics, with a bit of averageness to just pull it down from a 5

I liked this album a lot. It was more fun than the usual silliness I sometimes expect from The Beatles. It also had some classics which are always fun to listen to within the context of the greater album. I enjoyed it and listened twice.

Innovative! We had this album shortly after it was released and there was absolutely nothing like it back then. It got a lot of play at our house and everybody enjoyed it (including parents.) Well, other than George’s intro of the sitar to the world via Within You Without You (worst song on the album but no real way to skip). Great background effects throughout the album and no pauses between songs also set it apart. Lucy In The Sky paints some fantastic imagery but Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite was my favorite song on the album back then (age 7 or 8 at the time.) Now it’s Ringo singing With A Little Help From My Friends (although When I’m 64 strikes a chord this year.) A cool (and busy) cover. For some unknown reason my older brothers and I always enjoyed that WC Fields was in the crowd. The album doesn’t hold up as well as I was hoping but still comes in strong at (3.5*s)

This album is iconic in so many ways, from the opening riff to the very last note. It's a landmark achievement that successfully bridges different worlds (music, art, fashion, multiple generations) and is also a feat in graphic design for the time. It will always be great, it will always be at the top of lists, it will always be impactful, it's The Beatles!

It's been a long time since I listened to this album in its entirety. Although it's not my favorite Beatles album, it's got some really great tracks on it. This is the Beatles at their most innovative. I listened to the Deluxe version, which lets you hear the evolution of some of their most famous songs and demonstrates just how experimental the album was.

Can’t go wrong with the Beatles

Solid and fun

I mean. Classic for a reason. But some of the Beatles' tendencies that don't resonate with me pop up a little too often for me to give this five, although it comes close.

Capable of writing some of the most iconic songs throughout history but my god the vocals are mostly trash.

Qué decir que no se haya dicho ya de temas intemporales como "With a Little Help from My Friends", el clásico de la psicodelia británica "Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds" o el cierre del disco, "A Day In The Life"... Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band es uno de esos discos que no pueden faltar en los estantes de todo melómano.

I spent years thinking it was salt n pepper’s lonely hearts. Decades even.

This is a very difficult album to review as its reputation precedes it massively. Let’s get a few things straight from the off: 1. It’s not the first concept album. It’s really not a concept album. The title track and its reprise set up a concept that the rest of the album completely ignores. It’s cheating 2. It’s not The Beatles’ best album. Abbey Road and Revolver are both better. White Album, despite it’s inconsistencies, is a more exciting listen as well 3. Speaking of inconsistencies, Mr Kite and Lovely Rita are both kind of bad. Good Morning Good Morning is a bit of a mess as well Everything else is incredible. The production is remarkable for the time and there’s still not really anything that sounds like it. I can’t quite justify giving it a 5 but it’s the highest 4 I’m ever going to give

Transformational music by the G.O.A.T. band of the mid-rock and roll era. Simply the best.

Its kind of a 3 and a half for me but I'm feeling generous. There's some good songs here and I like the concept, even if I'm not in love with the execution.

Psychedelic pop rock. I don't if it's just me but I was aa little let down by this record. It met certain expectations, like I knew it would be eclectic and silly and weird, and all that but it was almost too quirky. Like they chose quirky over quality. There were some standout tracks, A Day in the Life in particular, but it just didn't feel cohesive. I really understand the importance of this album in rock history, but it still just didn't hit the spot for me. Just too many tracks didn't measure up to the rest. It was by no means bad and I thoroughly enjoyed it, just not as much as I thought I would. I should revisit to make sure. 4/5

My favorite Beatles album. Great classic

certainly deserves its flowers, but not in my beatles top 3

Imagine the surprise in my early teens when I made the connection that the theme tune to Australia’s most popular lifestyle TV programme was by The Beatles. John, Paul, George and Ringo legitimized Better Homes And Gardens for me.
