Seriously, who listens to shit like this?
Slippery When Wet
I've heard it said of Stephen King that he "writes books for people who don't read books". Likewise, Bon Jovi makes music for people who don't listen to music.

Unintelligible lyrics, some extremely derivative guitar work - and the rest sounds like you handed some 3 year olds some instruments.
What a breath of fresh air after multiple days of seemingly random awfulness.
Definitely sound like a band of Betas….
This mostly sounds like music. I’ll call that a win for a Radiohead album.

Makes sense that this is on here - groundbreaking US punk. These guys and The Clash on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean showing the way.
This is Dusty Springfield at her best, and listening to this I couldn't help but think that you don't get from Doris Day to Patty Smythe without Dusty to build the bridge.
It's pretty easy to lose track of how groundbreaking these guys were, but listening to this I could imagine being a teenager in 1963 and being absolutely blown away.
Been a fan of these guys since the early days. I remember hearing this album for the first time and thinking - this is different. Still is. The Cars found their own niche in the New Wave/Punk scene.
Miles Davis at his understated best.
Obviously a classic. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes gets all the love, but for my money I'll take Helplessly Hoping as the lynchpin of this record. Amazing harmonies.
Some interesting sounds and influences, clearly, but eventually it ended up just sounding like a random musical theatre soundtrack. Fine if you're into that kind of thing, but not my cup of tea. Happy to be introduced to this artist though - I always enjoy interesting music.
Hadn't heard this one in a while. Brought back some good memories.
Having never been much of a fan of these guys, I was pleasantly surprised by this. Great sounds. First time I ever made it all the way through one of their albums.
Great album, no need to say more.
Like time traveling to a simpler, wilder, harsher past.
Awful.
I'm not a huge fan of this genre, but if I were, I suspect this would be one of the best. These guys were definitely at the forefront of the 90s hip-hop scene.
Great voice, his songs just don't resonate with me.
Listenable, but noting earth shattering
As good as it gets in this genre - excellent guitar work, meaningful songs. Of course it's on this list.
This was awesome!
Bangers, all the way through.
Don’t love the sound mix, but a solid 90s rock and roll offering
Very enjoyable. I could listen to more of this.
I liked this a lot. Like a pop album by Brandi Carlile. Listened to it all day and never got old.
Any Album with "Dancing Queen" is going to be worth a listen.
Solid offering in the early 1980's Southern California surf punk genre. Some interesting sounds. Probably a line from Dick Dale to these guys.
This album reminded me of why I'm not much of an REM fan. I think it's just personal preference. I liked "Automatic for the People" much more.
Enjoyed this a lot. British Folk rock, while unoriginal is a very apt description.
Any album that includes Tom Sawyer is going to be pretty good. That is an absolutely exceptional Rock and Roll song. Beyond that, some other good underrated tunes, notably YYZ.
Not awful, but a little too much electronica sounding to me. The songs were repetitive to the point that I couldn't tell when one ended and another began. Still, some interesting sounds, including some nice jazz influences - just not my cup of tea.
Glad I listened to this, but not my style.
Liked the sound of this. I could listen to it some more.
Better than expected - very listenable, and I can in the right atmosphere, this would be an excellent choice.
As an early 80s teenager, this is right in my wheelhouse. Love Trevor Horn as a producer, so this gets a thumbs up!
Full disclosure - not a Joni Mitchell fan. She's written some exceptionally great songs, notably "Woodstock" and "Both Sides Now", but vocally, she's subpar and difficult for me to listen to. But I made it through this, and it wasn't unbearable, so let's call it a win.
Let out a bit of an “ugh” when this popped up, but turns out it was remarkably good. A little goes a long way, of course, but glad I haven’t a listen.
For a Pop album, pretty solid.
I really liked this - great job with many of the standards. A lot of horns and strings, I would have like to have the piano play a little more prominent role, but the vocals are great.
Sometimes there's a reason you've never heard of some of these acts. They aren't very good. This sounds like a cross between Black Sabbath and Spinal Tap, but not in a good way. What happens when you take a borderline genre (prog rock) too far. Cool album cover though.
Pretty standard Punk offering, with some pop flavors and hints of Lou Reed. Cool name for a band though.
Of course.
Can I give this six stars?
Good, but no stand-outs.
Not sure what they were going for here. Some decent Simon & Garfunkel feels, but just so-so for me.
Classic
More accessible than people give it credit for - don’t be afraid.
Stark, intimate. Enjoyed it, but no great revelation for me.
Music for a middle school drama club. And way too much of it. Barely listenable for me. Bright spot - Sweet Lovin' Man Might be 10 or 12 decent songs in here, but easy to miss amongst the nonsense
I do my best to listen to everything thrown out me on this project, but some of these genre's push the limits of actual music. Vocals are unbearable. Had to move on quickly from this one.
Better than expected. Enough jazz influences to keep it interesting.
Good, but I couldn’t wait to finish so I could listen to Tom Waits “Heart of Saturday Night”.
Right up there with the worst of them.
Pretty good actually. Gal’a got a decent voice and the electronica is tempered with enough pop hooks to make it listenable. I checked out a couple other albums - liked Silver Eyethe best.
As I was listening to this, all I could think was "What's the big deal about these guys?" Pretty standard early 21st century pop rock. Decent, but nothing stood out.
Might be their best album. Really enjoyed listening to this all the way through.
Hard to overstate how good these guys are.
Nice album - great songs done as only Elvis can.
Know many of these songs, but never listened all the way through. Very solid top to bottom.
Not a big Santana fan, but a lot to appreciate here.
Big sound. Polished grunge, maybe? Some nice 80s synthesizer touches. All in all, not too bad.
Aptly titled - a little too much of the Billie Eilish whiny schoolgirl vibe on this one for me. I listened to her two other albums in conjunction with this, and this was my least favorite.
I know the critics love her, and understand she's trying to push the boundaries, but at a certain point it's just noise. Other than Running Up That Hill, I'm passing on most things Kate Bush.
Pure Electronica - not for me.
One of the best ever.
An archetype of the genre.
More electronica, or at least electronica adjacent. This actually has some musical sounds, so more tolerable than most.
Pretty solid rock and roll listening.
I hear that people used to kill themselves after listening to this guy. Now I know why. Extra star for coming up with the scary guy gimmick to overcome average talent. Decent heavy metal voice, though.
Just so goog.
Listenable, but nothing of note here.
Interesting. Maybe a little too "International" for my taste, but enough good sounds to keep me engaged.
Happy to have listened to this. Very good jazz record.
Unlike most of the death metal I’ve been exposed to on here, these guys at least sound like they are trying to approximate music. In other words, not entirely unlistenable.
Not bad, but nothing for me to connect with.
Objectively, not good. Songs are ridiculous, Geddy Lee’s voice is awful. These guys got better, but without the benefit of knowing that, this album would never see the light of day.
Definitely one everyone should be exposed to. Classic R & B.
I was hoping this would make me have a greater appreciation for this band. Didn't work. Definitely worth a listen, but run of the mill 90s grunge, which never really spoke to me. I appreciate what that genre did to save Rock & Roll, however.
Different. Good. Nice to have been made aware of this artist.
I liked this a lot. Surprised I never came across these guys back in the day. They are right up my alley.
Stupid. Songs sound like if Paul McCartney wrote the music for Spinal Tap, or a bad Queen knockoff. Waste of time.
Classic Dolly. Hard to beat.
A really good listen. Great voice and great lyrics.
Ugh. Is it just me, or is there too much electronica on this list?
Early seventies heavy metal, pushing the envelope. Everything afterwards owes itself to this.
Enjoyable. Some 60s psychedelia sounds. Will listen more.
As prog rock as it gets. Thanks for pushing the envelope.
Unique sound. I could listen to more of this.
Love revisiting these classics.
Unique, soulful sound. One of a kind.
Can hear these guys finding their style.
Another band that for some reason I've never heard of that I could like. This is what I'm here for.
Classic R & B. Learn from the master.
Not my style, but she can sing.
solid pop offering
Always love it when I hear something I haven’t before and it turns out to be really good. I little too much filler at the end of this though.
Some classics, rest is solid as well.
I try to listen to all of these, but barely made it through 3 songs on this one. Awful.
A must listen for everyone.
Really interesting, enjoyed the experience
Absolute classic
Really good. Sorry I missed it the first time through.
Hard to overstate how good this is. Happy for the opportunity to listen again
A lot of good groundbreaking stuff on here.
Maybe the best Lou Reed album I’ve ever heard.
Based on this, I’d say these guys were a lot more interesting early on. Later stuff is formulaic.
Great live blues from a master.
Couldn't find this album on Apple Music. Listened to some of their other stuff - not bad, but nothing special.
3 chord rock with a gimmick
Sorry, just not a fan...
Hard to evaluate, but interesting
Not sure I'd have this Led Zeppelin album on this list, but I presume there will be others.
Proto-Punk at its finest
A lot to like here.
Really enjoyed this
Next update this should be the first one off of this list. It’s movie background music.
Solid, if unspectacular
Better than I expected
Meh
Some very cool stuff on here
A lot of good ones on here. Criminally underrated.
Good rock and roll!
Never heard of these guys. Happy that’s been corrected.
Better than expected
Uninteresting
Masters of their genre, just not my genre.
Ridiculous. How did they ever get an album made.
Solid rock & roll
Meh
A nice sounding album with a pleasant surprise in “Damaged”. I’d listen again.
Repetitive dance/electonica. Yawn.
Look, Morrissey has a great voice, and with the music polished up, this is a Smiths album worth listening to.
Poor man’s Cream.
Barely music
Overproduced pop masquerading as rock and roll.
Pedantic early 70s themes.
No way these guys should have more than one album on this list. Hopefully this is the last.
Meh.
Listened to this all day. Absolutely beautiful.
I sincerely hope I don't see another one of these guys albums on this list. Mostly static.
Pretty big fan of Tom Waits, but this one is a stretch.
Combining two things I hate: French & thrash metal
Fun, classic 60s psychedelia
The most overrated band in the history of rock and roll.
Surprisingly pedestrian.
A few songs were not unlistenable. I call that a win for a Radiohead album. The good news is that I think this is the last one I’ll come across on this project.
The best thing about most of these songs is that they’re short.
Probably the most musically complex Hip Hop album I’ve ever heard.
Maybe I’m thinking of someone else, but I remember these guys being a lot better.
Too much prog, not enough rock.
Better than expected. At least the first 8 songs.
Pretty stupid, but not unlistenable as background noise.
3 minus, only because of Once In A Lifetime
As a fellow reviewer said: "Better than Radiohead"
Turn it up loud and don’t overthink it.
Maybe the best jazz album of all time.
Sounds like it could be a Bond movie soundtrack. Not a bad thing. 3+
Classic 60's pop with a handful of must knows.
Incredible vibe all the way through.
I always get nervous when something is categorized as "electronica", but his had some actual music on it. Pleasantly surprised.
If Frank Turner was a hip-hop artist....
Maybe the best 90’s alt/grunge album I’ve listened to.
Some interesting influences here.
Mostly nonsense, but some of it is beautiful.
100/5
A little goes a long way, but worth listening to
Not even music. Industrial noises and German screaming. Feel free to skip this one with extreme prejudice.
Pretty good. Some really interesting stuff on here.
Some great stuff, some really stupid stuff.
Really beautiful
Unintelligible lyrics, some extremely derivative guitar work - and the rest sounds like you handed some 3 year olds some instruments.
This is a really fun album. What Rock and Roll should be, not taking itself too seriously. I love finding this stuff on the list.
Nick Cave is the Radiohead of the folk-rock genre. The critics love him, but has anyone ever actually met a fan? This is tolerable, but not nearly as good as you might be led to believe.
Definitely sound like a band of Betas….
I mean, not good.
These guys feel like the Radiohead of the early 1970s. The critics seemed to like them, but nobody really listened to them; because, while unique, it's just not very good.
Overrated album by an overrated artist. She has written a few good songs, I’ll give you that, but none are on this record.
The Sitar is at best a complimentary instrument, and even then a little goes a long way. Hard to make it all the way through this one.
Psychedelic Beatles are the best Beatles
I've heard it said of Stephen King that he "writes books for people who don't read books". Likewise, Bon Jovi makes music for people who don't listen to music.
I’ve come to dread the Radiohead albums on this list, but this was a pleasant surprise. These guys aren’t half bad when they make actual music.
Simple hooks and inane lyrics repeated incessantly.
Imagine a very mediocre 80s hairband they couldn’t be bothered to find a half decent lead singer
This is a 3+ for me. I can't really get past the Arabic (and French, and ?) lyrics, but the music is really interesting.
Seriously, who listens to shit like this?
Taylor Swift songs are best listened to one at a time.
Realistically more like 3 stars, but gets the 4th solely on the basis of “American Pie”
Not my favorite genre, but I mostly enjoyed this. Eventually, the over repetitive loops just wear me out.
Other than the electronica/disco rendition of “Comfortably Numb”, which is an abomination, there’s a lot to like here. Might have been 4 stars.
This really highlights how far ahead of his time Jeff Beck was.
Nice vibe
Mostly noise and nothing particularly groundbreaking.
Was there a “bad early 80s new wave” revival that I missed; because I imagine these guys would have been at the forefront.
This is mostly bad shoegaze on steroids. A lot of it sounds like feedback, and the vocals are buried in the mix; which might be a good thing because when you can hear them, they’re awful. Still, I was going to give it two stars until the last “song”: 15 minutes of noise, presumably approximating a night in a quarry. This is not “daring” or “edgy” or groundbreaking in any way - it’s just stupid. Where are the record company execs putting their foot down when you need them?
I wonder if there is a way to get this app to skip all the French shit.
Maybe the saddest album I’ve ever heard.
Had to skim this one. Couldn’t take the full dose of repetitive loops. Maybe this is considered good for the genre, but I don’t get it.
Mix is awful, but otherwise decent early 90s grunge
What a breath of fresh air after multiple days of seemingly random awfulness.
Still sound like a band of Betas, but better than their previous entry on this list.
Like their earlier stuff better.
Not his best effort.
This had some fun sounds. I often wonder if some of these acts would have been more popular if they had a better name. “Orange Juice”? Really?
This mostly sounds like music. I’ll call that a win for a Radiohead album.
Not bad, actually. Vocals save it.
“Hmm, I’ve never heard of these guys, I wonder why? Oh, they’re not very good, that’s why””
A Prog Rock staple.
Electronica at its worst.
Nice to know they were overproducing records in the late 60s too.
Couldn’t find this one, so listened to Strange Cargo 2. I mean, it’s electronica, how different can they be. Not bad.
Blues in Bob Minor saved this from being a 1.
These guys were musically underrated. Didn’t need the androgyny gimmick. May have worked against them.
