This was the first time I listened to this thing. Great album! Influential, good songs, production, instrumentation, deserves all the praise it gets.

My Bloody Valentine
5/5
Irish shoegaze band My Blood Valentine’s iconic second album, *Loveless*, is often considered to be the seminal album of the Shoegaze genre and one of the best albums of the 90s—sometimes of all time. After a first time listen, it’s not hard to see why. This album is abrasive, dense, fuzzy, and raw in the best way possible. This album made me feel things that an album hasn’t made me feel in a long while. It felt overwhelming with its walls of sound but it also brought a sense of comfort at the same time. There’s so many things I adore in this album. The hazy, dreamy, and drowned out vocals of Keith Shields and Bilinda Butcher, the absolutely killer guitar moments and tones, and the atmospheres it brings are a few. *Only Shallow* is an absolutely incredible opener and hits you like a truck when it starts. *To Here Knows When* is just so dreamy and full of atmosphere, it’s great. *Sometimes* is more calming and more heartfelt with its seemingly subtle and gradual build up. However, in an album with many standouts, *I Only Said* has to be my favorite track out of all of them. The dreamy and hazy vocals, the dense instrumentation, the effect drenched guitars, it all adds up to a timeless track on an ultimately timeless album. This album still hits as hard as it did back in 1991. While it may not be for everyone, this album is a classic and is essential listening. I highly recommend this one if you’re looking for a classic and/or something to lose your mind in.

I’ve been wanting to listen to this for a while now, and i’m glad that i’ve finally gotten to it today. Creepy yet iconic album cover aside, this album is just chill, sometimes off putting, electronic goodness. This album is just superb. The sequencing of tracks here just makes the album flow so nicely. The short tracks and interludes going into the longer tracks gives the album a sense of cohesion that I really appreciate. The production is stellar here. Rich synths, interesting vocal samples, great drum beats are found all throughout this thing. It’s so good at setting a mood as well. “Wildlife Analysis,” the opener, is a good example of that. It’s a good short ambient song that’s just a vibe honestly. There’s a lot of tracks that i’d like to mention, but i’d take up too much space. Please, go listen to this album for yourself. It may be a bit long buts it’s so worth it in my opinion. I loved this album, and i’m glad that I did! I highly recommend this one. :)

Pretty good! Firesuite is an amazing intro. Every song here is good, and had heart into it. Memorable tracks, cool lyrics, cool atmosphere. Very cool!

Bob Dylan

Other than some track lengths, this was pretty good! Many people don’t like Bob’s voice but I think it’s great here. Great lyricism in every track, every single one is stacked. The backing tracks were amazing as well with the tone and mood they brought to the table. I liked this a lot!
