Best album ever

Bonus star for clocks otherwise it bored me

Can't fault a man for jamming but I would've loved to see this without 8 minute intros to each song too

So much good about this album, but it was so long and there was as much that I didn't love.

Iconic

Nick Drake is really one of the gems of this for me. I liked five leaves left a little better but this has such a nice chill sound too.

So unsettling. It’s only on here for “artistic merit” cause otherwise it is not a good album by any measure. Loved walking around town while he was screaming and killing his family and himself.

Incredible ambient music with even more incredible cover art. It just makes me happy and want to stay at the penguin cafe for as long as I want

Some of the worst songs I've ever heard in among some really good ones that have a weird energetic sound. Just sometimes they let the sound get too weird and energetic and sounded like a dad that had many, many different drugs

4 stars, and I wanted to like this more. The beginning just did not inspire me with the music but the vibes really were there. Even when he was explicitly sexual (it happened a lot) it didn't put me off or anything. Sounded kinda like Blur at different points

Decent for Stevie

This was genuinely horrible. It made me think of Suicide (NOT a double meaning) just in a different time with different drugs. And by that I mean it was genuinely horrible.

This album gradually wore me down song by song until I was resigned to give it just one star. I was bored out of my mind. Then in the last song she didn’t know how to sing it and talked about Ella Fitzgerald singing it in a crazy way which made me laugh. Don’t say I didn’t give it a chance

This was honestly fine, maybe better than I thought it would be. It was actually insane to hear the clear influence from Suicide on "State Trooper." That's definitely one of the coolest parts of this experience. Although why he chose to imitate that I'll never know...

Perfect music for walking around the city on a rainy day, particularly if you're sleuthing

"F 2016, 2016 SUCKS" they said. It turns out people die. There were worse years to come that weren't ruined by old, heavily drugged people dying. I hope all the people who pretended to have loved David Bowie as soon as he died listened to this album as punishment. It's not even the worst, but nowhere near what this list should be.

This has one obvious hit single, but the whole album is full of fun, energetic, good music

I was a bit surprised by this, there was a lot I liked in it. But it wasn't really that good except for American Girl

I think I would only listen to his greatest hits, this sounded like a bunch of the same songs back to back to back. It wasn't bad at all, but just a bit boring to listen to the whole thing.

Good samples, great social issues addressed. But I just didn't care for some reason, maybe it was outdated for me. Definitely not enough to keep me interested

A ska band trying to move beyond ska. I didn't really like it as much as I like their previous album, 7 probably because of that. Not as much upbeat fast tempo music but there were some great hits here like Our House and Madness

I cannot believe how low people have rated this hear. It shows that they're not in this to appreciate different kinds of music. As a huge fan of Syd Barrett Pink Floyd, this was a great revelation for me. There's just something so calming about this kind of trippy folk music. It makes you think of simpler times, and I don't see how the silliness of it doesn't just make you smile. Sure, it wasn't as put together lyrically or musically as early Pink Floyd, but it gives a great sense of whimsy and is just generally good.

I seriously don't know if it's a 3 or a 4 for me. This is obviously an iconic album, but it doesn't really grab me. I've never liked their pretend punk attitude and sound, but this album has some real classics that everyone should know for a reason.

Very close to being an all time great album, but the part between mother goose and locomotive breath just didn't interest me. Started and ended so well

Hated this at first, it felt like the beastie boys trying and failing to make their way into techno. By the end though there were some real jams

Listening to this album was like being a kid where there’s an adult trying to be cool and you can’t help but make fun of him with your friends as he seems just way out of touch but then you grow up and realize he may have actually been cool in his day and you start feeling a little bad for him. You’re left with a smile as you reminisce on the good and bad times

Wow, this was really bad. It was like subpar high school garage band music with either mumbling or screaming on top of it.

This is definitely one of the reasons i’m doing this. I used to think Green Day was on the really bad side of punk where you couldn’t believe they would actually do anything punk whatsoever. That may still be true but I have a lot more respect for their music and band as a whole

I didn't used to like Bob Marley cause he was the only Reggae artist known to white people, but this is pretty good stuff and I especially appreciate the songs from peter tosh (without even knowing they were written by him until now). Not so much into kinky reggae

I was always scared of listening to Talking Heads albums cause I thought they'd be too weird but I keep being proven wrong. This is another great, fun album and the core of Cities - Life During Wartime is incredible

Not exactly my style, but I can see how other people would like it. Moon In June was definitely nice, but each song was 20 minutes

I don't really get it. I can't understand why there are so many passionate five star reviews defending this mediocre album. It was decent funky jazzy rock, but completely uninspiring. Any lyrics that stood out were just lame rhymes

As a fan of X, I'm not really sure why this album made it onto this list. It's really not great

I really liked this album a lot. It started very strong but kind of went up and down after. They kind of hurt themselves with how many instrumentals there are, but you can tell that’s just what they wanted to do. Very flaming lips sound

Some of these reviews are insane. Definitely deserved as one of the top albums of that decade. Pyramids and lost back to back is just crazy

Really good old country music. The highlight was the title track where a woman dies cause a man loves his horse too much.

Not as weird as they were trying to make it. The vocal distortions on lucy in the sky were just ridiculously bad and ruined what would otherwise be a great song. I did really enjoy Being for the benefit of mr kite.

I knew nothing about yes before this, I was usually a no man. But this is really good. Some songs are really amazing, but it's a bit hampered by being prog without progressing much (just making songs long)

This was a big disappointment. It's just utterly boring, like if you took the most uninteresting songs from led zeppelin's career

This is one of the all time great bands that I was raised with. This album starts great but sort of falls off a bit. At least you don't have any time to be sad about it

I was really prepared to give this a three because the first few songs were good. But they somehow kept this album going for what seemed like an eternity with nothing else interesting. It was kind of like if Neil Young was born in Donabate but somehow found his way to California for one week only

I was expecting to like this more because I loved Moving Out when I heard it in Glee. This was like he took the worst parts of the beatles feel good era but put a piano at the forefront

Wow, I'm very impressed by this. As someone who's not a big fan of classic rock, this is definitely the best album of it's kind I've heard so far. I'll give it five stars for having so many hit songs as well
