Kind Of Blue
Miles DavisLovely, beautiful background music. A bit lounge-y and not distracting at all.
Lovely, beautiful background music. A bit lounge-y and not distracting at all.
From the name and album cover I thought this would be Irish jigs or something. This album is nice, it has a calming feel-good rock vibe. Definitely that late 90’s alt feel
This seems random. I was in a bad mood while I listened to this and I think it helped.
Quite Irish. I listened but it didn’t hold my attention. I guess it would be ok if you’re looking for classic rock background music.
Awesome sound. I loved it; my cats loved it.
Great!
I should learn the lyrics so I can scream too
Sooo British. 5/5 to the Common People song, meh to the rest
Ok
Honestly that was way better than I thought it would be.
Well it’s definitely not boring
Terrible I lasted 10 seconds into the second song. Time I will never get back.
Instrumental but too much going on to be background music. It’s ok
Jazzy instrumental with sax, maybe good background music sometimes?
Quintessential 60’s boy band… not for me
Nah
Meh
Quite Irish. I listened but it didn’t hold my attention. I guess it would be ok if you’re looking for classic rock background music.
60’s isn’t my style
Too much Irish sea shanty jigs
No thanks
Great! Kind of cozy trance music to do a slow hobby to that doesn’t need a lot of concentration. Cozy to spooky to fairyland? With little bit of Rocky Horror vibes thrown in
A bit guitar-interference noisy but some parts are pretty good. Way too long.
Pretty good
They sound like every other band trying to sound like that. Noisy and the voice is a bit too shrieky. I wanted to give this a 3, but decided to go with a 2, and then changed it to a 1 because I just couldn’t get to the end.
Just like the old days
I liked this! It made me laugh.
Love the sound, love the energy, love the voice and the writing.
I’m not into this decade or sound at all, but this was nice to listen to while I decorated the Christmas tree. Maybe just a mood
Iconic. Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Stone Cold Crazy
I’ve never heard Private Dancer or Can’t Stand The Rain before. Wow those were some great songs. I listened to this album while painting and the energy was a big help.
Ugh so morose. I feel worse now that before I started listening.
It’s ok, plus points for being a huge relief after listening to terrible Portishead
Dick dick bitch pussy dick balls females wow so deep
Not for me but I appreciate the story of collaboration for this album. My cats liked Natalie Merchant’s voice on the song Birds and Ships
Ok background music
Terrible. Nothing sadder than a boomer who just can’t let go. You’re 50 years too late dude.
Not my style
I can’t in good conscience support these guys. I started listening and kind of liked it so I read up on them a bit. They use “Burundi beat” which itself was taken without ever compensating the original artists. Looks like they also used some Native American styling as a costume.
Love it as always
A Christmas album on Christmas Day!
It’s alright if a bit forgettable
Unexpected! Almost like listening to a musical
Yea it was ok but I kept not paying attention
I listened to this in January on the west coast. It is very dark out. It is not raining but this music was the rain hitting my metaphorical windows in the dark.
Neil Young isn’t on Spotify so I had to use YouTube which was a pain and stopped every time I needed my phone for anything. I couldn’t get through the first song this way sorry. Also I know everyone reveres Neil Young but I don’t like his voice.
Just not a big fan of the sound
This album is highly regarded but to me it just sounded erratic and depressing.
It’s ok. Sound is a relic of the past.
Good
Cool
I especially like the song Visions
Radiohead is one of those bands where I like a few individual songs and that’s it. This album feels a bit whiny.
This was ok
I like it! Good for stimulating background music at dinner.
Just kept going and going and going
It’s ok, noise that sounds like everything else similar from that time.
From the name and album cover I thought this would be Irish jigs or something. This album is nice, it has a calming feel-good rock vibe. Definitely that late 90’s alt feel
I listened to this through twice and both times I forgot I was listening to something.
The voice is just too much for more than one song at a time
Background stuff
I’ve never really delved into Jack White and I don’t know why. He’s really good. This music makes me feel like there’s an army of history and influences behind it.
It’s ok, a couple great songs
Awesome sound. I loved it; my cats loved it.
So impressed at the production quality, I never would have guessed this was more than half a century old. Beautiful, strong and yet sultry singing voice.
Cool sound but I can’t understand a word they are saying.
Ok, like the woman rock sound
Unique but too noisy for a whole album. I knew the first song which I loved.
Really this is a perfect album but their style and sound just makes me feel a little on edge.
It’s ok, maybe just a mood I wasn’t vibing with
When I came to rate this I forgot what it sounded like and had to put it on again to remind me.
I kind of love it, even if the occasional voice twang is a bit too much. His voice reminds me of the dogs in the Aristocats.
Depressing sound, I’m not feeling it.
This is a direct ancestor to the 90’s, and DDR too.
Meh
Not bad! A happy sound and I recognized a few songs.
Nice background music
Boring
I was reading about this guy, seems like he’s a huge dick so I figured his music must be amazing to last. It’s not. He sucks.
This is not good. Looks like they got lucky with Bittersweet Symphony.
Boring
Pretty good work background music. Low tempo beat
I have images in my mind of an English pixie prancing around with a flute. Somehow simultaneously iconic, unique, and boring.
Ok background music. A bit forgettable but it is calming, nice guitar.
Not that great.. a little overdramatic, broadway, but also cheap lounge?
Nice beats!
Nothing quite like Santana
Good for background music
Great for yard work!
My dad used to love this album. It is boring.
Love the sound
I sense this was terrible but I still liked it.
Noisy
Please no.
Better than nothing I guess
Can’t say I’d listen to this more than once but I’m glad I did.
Great!
Honestly I didn’t pay attention
Nice, great energy
Why do I have a feeling these guys are a precursor to the bloodhound gang
Not really any standouts other than Golden Years.
Good I think, should give it another listen when I’m not sick.
Timeless, beautiful.
Ok
Sound is so old
Blech
Ok but I probably wouldn’t listen to it again
Too old but also ok for background music at work
Yikes no
Every song sounds the same
Excellent. Unique voice, unique sound, unique instruments.
Nah, every song is the same, tired of beach punk angst
Maybe I’m in a mood but I thought it was great background music
Ok
Sounds like a high school garage band
I seem to really love Kraftwerk!
Her voice is so good!
Ugh terrible. Maybe it was good once but now it just sounds like old people reminiscing for decades ago. A lot of wailing.
This seems random. I was in a bad mood while I listened to this and I think it helped.
More pop than I was expecting
Good songs
Not bad
I don’t really like this. His voice is too weak
Ew no.
Really great, pretty smooth
Great vibe, great voice
It’s… ok. There was one beachy song I liked but otherwise I wouldn’t listen to this again.
I used to love them but after learning he’s a d*ck and part of the Me Too problem o can’t support that
I listened, I forgot
I’m sure this would have been great in an evening lounge 65 years ago.
It’s ok if forgettable
It’s ok, a little too grating to have as work background music
Disk 1 was fine, disk 2 kind of sucked.
It’s ok
Depressing
This album is really beautiful and romantic. I absolutely love the first half; the second half changing a bit to a little more country/folk. Still good but I wish it carried through all the way like it started
This needs a specific mood but I listened to it on a rainy quiet afternoon with tea and my cat sleeping in my arms
I really like this as chill background music for work
A bit noisy, weird sounds
Pretty good. I knew a lot of the songs although I’ve never actually listened to it as an album. A couple songs were cut off though so I give it a 4.5.
Boring and weird.
Maybe a bit too depressing, but nice voice
Not particularly memorable but agreeable
5 stars, of course
Was wondering why it reminded me of the Matrix
This is weird. Early 80’s voice, but then a bit of punk, a bit of country. What are you doing.
Nah, what’s up with the mooing
Not bad, more of a 70’s folksy Americana sound
Some parts were ok; some parts were just noise.
It was alright, surprised to recognize a couple songs. Do You Love Me and Roll Over Beethoven
I fell asleep at my desk listening to this and woke up when it was over. 5/5 for relaxation, although I have no idea.
Sounds like a crappy Italian restaurant/background music to a not-great 70’s dramedy
Teenagers in a shitty garage part 2
Isn’t it iconic
So fresh
Well his voice seems a little too high pitched, but great vibe. I recognized the voice immediately I Believe In A Thing Called Love. Justin Hawkins is a bit reminiscent of Brendon Urie and Adam Lambert. Catchy songs.
An old sound, ok but not my thing
Boring
She seems influential but I’m not a big fan of her voice or her story.
Meh
Ok but not amazing? A bit garage-band-y
It was ok, great song but the rest was a bit repetitive. There was a song Jennifer
Ok, interesting writing but not the nicest sound
So boring.
This sound seems to match how I’m feeling these days with so many things just not going right
Nice. Relaxing, just a bit global, would listen again.
Will Smith covered this I had no idea
Good but not my style
I did not like this
Pleasant
Great
Nah
Too noisy
Not bad
A bit Lauryn Hill-esque but not as captivating
Ok for a Friday morning beat I guess
Great! Woman rock band, a bit punk but not too much.
You have to settle in for this one. Good but at times haunting
Alright
Alright
What’s a phone booth
5 stars always
Ok, a little circus-y
It certainly doesn’t feel 50+ years old. Could be 10 years old I wouldn’t know the difference.
More subdued than the other album. I’m still not a big fan of the whole white Americana dude persona
Good but old
5⭐️ always. Great performers, great music, lots of substance.
Ok
It always feels good to listen to something a bit different. His voice was a bit too nasally for my liking though. Great instruments and sound.
Is this the Kinks or the Beatles?
My Beosound liked this album.
German. Much distortion. A song called Jennifer. Too many weird noises.
Too crude for me
Kind of boring folk duet
The most annoying voice on the planet but somehow it still works
Two songs in and it felt like forever. Old Motown sound. Fine but not what I like
Alright music to wake up to
Nah. Old 60’s “rocker” sound but also some bagpipes?
Sounds old, somewhat Beatles-ish. Typical 60’s sound.
First day of the 80’s and it sounds like it. There’s a little bit of AC/DC sound in there too.
Too old of a sound for me but the words were definitely something.
A bit generic.
Ok, calming. I recognized the intro.
Yes very nice
Not particularly offensive, but not my thing
Got some bounce but every song sounds the same
Feels like an old classic Christmas
Yussss I am hot for teacher
It’s like The Who meets Billy Joel, along with great instrumentation. Sounds amazing on my Beosound.
Yea it was alright, some of those 60’d harmonies I’m not a fan of, but it was fine.
Definitely takes me back. Used to be one of my favourite albums - too bad the singer turned out to be a dirtbag.
Lovely, beautiful background music. A bit lounge-y and not distracting at all.
I didn’t like it but Leo the cat thought it was ok
I thought I liked this but the next day I couldn’t for the life of me remember what it sounded like.
It’s ok I guess, the Rasta stuff is weird.
Alright
So old honky tonk harmonica
Boring
Irish light jiggly punk like Dropkick Murphys.
A bit lounge, piano jazz, a bit Supertramp and Jethro Tull..
Grating, did not like this.
Old rock with a bit of surfer.
It’s alright, she has a nice voice. Really old music almost show-tuney.
Ok but a bit forgettable
I prefer AIM, but this album is still very good
Great album. I teared up as “With or without you” brought me back to the finale of The Americans
Meh. Ok but tired of listening to old sounds
Ok, reminds me of softer U2, a bit alt, bfoegettable but nice background music
Ok English/Indian sound
Old 60’s but alright
I cannot stand her voice. It’s like annoying talking
Forgettable background music.
Doesn’t seem to be available in Canada.
Ok, I like how long the songs are
Bland boring forgettable
Great
80’s are a great pick-me-up
Ok, fairly upbeat classic rock
Great album but hard to work with this one on
Got that 90’s feel. A bit Fatboy Slim mixed with Fresh Prince beats.
Pretty good to help stay awake on a dark afternoon
Fun sound
Ok
It’s ok, unique voice but also a bit trill like a bird.
Sounds kind of like a punk David Bowie
Great
Great. Her voice is nice and has depth; music was chill and sometimes a bit sad sounding.
Sounds great, liked it a lot, but minus one point for then being forgettable after it was over.
This bored me
A bit noisy but ok
Depressing sound
Meh didn’t really like this.
Didn’t really like this. Average old English punk feel
It’s ok, too old but I recognized some songs
Unexpectedly I like it. Somewhat chill rock, good guitar, interesting lyrics. Voice is average.
Blues guitar but punk screaming and the distortion is insane. Could barely listen to 2 songs it was just noise.
Boring
Not bad but you definitely have to be in a Led Zeppelin mood to have a good time
He somehow has an English punk voice but the music is not punk? And simultaneously kind of boring.
Too garage band for my liking but the voice was ok
Good vibe but too sleepy for a mid-afternoon fall tune.
This one didn’t quite make me want to gouge my eyes out like his other albums. A 2 because I made it to the end.
Great, love her, although no particular songs stood out to me on this album
I don’t like the sound of the instruments
Ok songs but I don’t like his voice
Old but alright
Ok
Good voice, good music, but I can’t see myself listening to this much.
Why not what a time
Alright, chipper but a bit too Beatles’-sounding
They are alright
Good
Yes great
Hmm it’s alright but not overly special
80’s is great to have around
Reggae
It’s alright
I don’t know what I was expecting but not this! It’s great. A bit slow and relaxed, it grooves and flows, some soul and reggae.
Why was this so boring
Don’t care too much for this but the guitar is cool
Early 2000’s upbeat rap
Meh
Interesting, kind of old low-production sound. A vibe. She’s got a bit of a deeper voice
The same as Phil Collins
Interesting. Deep voice and kind of talk-singing. Vaguely spy sound..? Easy to understand
Maybe one song here and there would be ok but not all at the same time. Pretty droning and down sound
Sort of ska reggae
Vagrant music
Love it! Kind of old Mexican/Cuban style, a bit lounge a bit romantic.
Kind of annoying noisy/distorted/low quality punk but still not bad?
Kind of interesting background music, maybe European techno ish
Didn’t like this, his voice was higher than I thought it would be. Metal but kind of generic boring. Garrett says he sings differently on other albums.
🤘🏼
Nah this sucks
It’s ok, what I expected. Old country
Maybe I would have liked this if I was born 60 years earlier. But now, blech
Weird sounds, reminds me of random noise, crickets, frogs, etc. A lot of instrumental but not the greatest
I’m still listening to it and I already forgot what the first half sounded like. Boring forgettable
So boring
Early 90’s upbeat hip hop sound
Blah not great but you get an extra star for Song 2
Like A Prayer and Express Yourself held up this album - the rest sucked.
Smooth
Interesting sound, kind of an older blues?
Not what I was expecting based on the crappy band name. More interesting, some guitar, some rock, maybe a bit of ska and blues. Happy to say it wasn’t boring, if anything
Odd album. Kind of a journey if you’re hopeful going out, and the night slowly degrades as you go on
Introspective low mood walking music. Reminiscent of M83 but feeling down instead of up
Not on Spotify
The voice, the emotion, iconic. I still remember where I was when I heard Hello for the first time.
Beastie Boys really confuse me. Like they sound so good, and yet so bad..?
Pretty good, good energy, seems original
Beautiful soun bossa nova
Haven’t heard Elvis Costello, more rock than I was expecting but not sure if I like it too much.
Not much to say other than meh
Terrible person
Kind of interesting, but noisy, voice doesn’t sound great, and without any musicality.
Deep, textured, earthy voice. Every song she sings with conviction and takes her time to feel the emotions. Also easy to understand the words. Not sure I’d listen to it often so 4 stars
Light punk, a bit whiney/complainy
Not quite what I thought. Good, a less soft voice, but got boring after a while
Great Adele
Love Daft Punk. Somehow great for both background music at work and a wild night out
Interesting African Blues good beat
Fun bouncy sounds, early 2000’s rapper
The sound is beautiful, calming and sad. A voice that suits
Boring a bit annoying
Well, I thought I would hate it but it was ok
Fun britpop punk, I don’t mind
Kinda boring sound.
This was meh, old and boring.
Ugh so boring. Not even good background music
Average early 90’s alt female, but basically forgettable
I’m not into jazz but he’s alright, seems passionate as he plays
I can’t get used to the annoying voice
Old Hollywood background music
More modern than most, duet-ish, soft love pop ok background music but forgettable
Ugh so morose, like a sad Johnny Cash
A great pick-me-up
I guess reminds me a bit of 80’s guitar hero
Don’t really like the old sound, but it is relaxing and well paced
Good, but as with all REM, forgettable
90’s alt rock ok
Americana old rock like Clapton, Steve Miller, Springsteen
Bob Dylan sound
Girl rock
Normal but weird? I like it
Old, a bit twangy
My favourite Rush album
Nice and light
Roses really smell like poo poo poo
A little pop punk 80’s garage band-y
Ok… not as high quality as the other metal bands of their time
Ok but a bit blah so you have to be in the mood
Nice I liked it more than I thought I would. Also it clocks in at just over half an hour which seems right for how strong the sound is
Can’t tell if it’s good or terrible
Great love the sound
Maybe a little too Americana for me, but I didn’t mind it. More light rock Americana
Just not that into it
Instrumental noise, not a fan
You get two stars instead of 1 because I made it to the end of this album
Not as good as The Eminem Show. This didn’t really age well
Hmm ok.
It’s ok, 60’s 70’s hippie vibe.
A nostalgic sound for a time that I wasn’t there.
A classic
It’s ok, really 80’s synth
Noisy, 80’s, synth/punk, and yet still boring
I actually didn’t mind this one as much, but less stars because it seemed to stress my cat out
Started off kind of noisy then I didn't pay much attention
Sort of rock?
Semi-acoustic soft dude, a bit old, kind of boring but good background?
Slightly rave electronica, ok but a bit boring
Great! Smooth voice r&b, my cats liked dancing to the more upbeat songs
Why do people like this? It’s so old and bumbling and nothing he says is remotely funny.
Old
Short at just over half an hour. Light punk, old from the 70’s. Like hippies tried to do punk.
Ok
No
Ok, catchy light punk
Hmmm. Kind of 70’s, singing that sounds like talking, maybe British and out of tune? Ok guitar, average balance of band
Wow really fantastic. I stopped what I was doing when I realized I was trying to hum along. Catchy, open, really old (63) but not cheesy. Great bright tunes with some brass. I got a well of emotion to his voice and passion
Ok, slightly old British punk but kinda boring.
Ok
Unavailable
Kind of ridiculous, cliché, awesome drums! Would love to scream like that
Kind of somber, low voice almost like old sad Johnny Cash? I don’t like it.
Really great, big band-y although a bit circusy at times. Good upbeat variety, interesting.
Fun and light, but still relaxed pop
Smooth
So 90’s. Always fun to hear bongo xylophone sounds
80’s English punk pop but not overwhelming
Sounds like The Doors, not my thing
It’s ok but too much talking and noise
What is this. So annoyed by his voice, but also it changes, sound is upbeat fun pop that could be old or new, unique lyrics that don’t match the sound, but also some stuff you wouldn’t say anymore
You know why
British ode to America in 9 songs. Great sound great lyrics, balanced with substance
Unavailable
Obviously great and the mix of voices are perfect together. They have their rhythm and harmony down. Lots of recognizable songs like Ready Or Not, Killing Me Softly, and Zealots. 4 stars just because I don’t think I’ll listen to it often
Wow. This hit deep. A breakup album but beautiful music and the voice melts into the music too as its own instrument. Sometimes I felt like he was singing for me (like a normal album), sometimes I felt like he wanted to sing alone and I was observing. It works as a whole album that needs to be listened as one.
It’s fine but not my style
Good, old metal, methodical and constant
The music version of wide pants from the early 90’s
Alright, but not really feeling it?
I love ABBA but really only when I know the songs. I knew at least 4 here so that was great.
For some reason I thought this was 60’s, then I listened and it’s 80’s? Weird. It’s alright
I don’t know why but I don’t really like this. Average, boring, kind of blah?
Old pop with slight country. I don’t really like this. The band that did Come On Eileen.
Disco! A bit short
He’s got that deep hollow voice like David Bowie. It’s a kind of Bowie-slow punk mash-up. Interesting.
Light alt-work with a slight tone of great big sea. Not bad
It’s ok
Ok
Float electronics without words. Exactly what I needed for my focus afternoon
Flowy, spacey, I see why people like it. Their first album and the only one with Syd Barrett.
Ozzy
Alright, kind of fun 90’s upbeat pop rap
What even is this!! I loved it. Not sure how to describe it other than its own “fuses traditional jazz and Indian influences with electronica and breakbeat culture to bewitching effect”
It’s ok I guess, still some reverb and her voice is just great, but not that ethereal cool of other albums
Did not like this at all. She’s like an annoying bard
Noisy and boring
Also boring
More electronic but still boring.
Ugh another boring album, I am cursed today
Noise noise ugh save me
Noisy 90’s indie rock but not bad if you’re in the right mood
Meh forgettable
Yep good a staple in classic rock
Old country. Well I made it to the end
Smooth rhythm, rap but also r&b beats. 90’s feel
Ew nooo
Ugh boring 90’s Edm.
This is the sound of boomers pining for the “good old days” that never really existed
Talk-singing, a bit English, a bit guitar. I don’t mind it
Singer songwriter dude
Welcome To The Jungle will never not remind me of 9Round
She’s ok, late 2010’s rap but not that memorable
Knew most of the songs, definitely a romantic feel
Boring but my cat liked it
