Reviews (page 14 of 14)

Kind of hard not to give this a decent review if only for the massive amount of nostalgia around 90% of the songs. And to be fair, there's a lot of cool, interesting stuff going on here.

It's the Beatles man. fuckin' hates beetles. mini rhinos with wings I say. favorite songs: Sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band, being for the benefit of Mr. kite!.

The Beatles: 50% the greatest songs of all time, 50% chintzy whimsy that makes you want to thrust chopsticks into your earholes.

A bit long and the best song was at the end

Not so special.

Starts and ends strongly but the middle loses me. Leans a little too psychedelic at times (see: Mr. Kite). Within You Without Out is like when your family makes you watch a slideshow of their vacation photos. When I'm 64 sounds like the theme song to a children's show. The title tracks, Getting Better, She's Leaving Home, and Good Morning Good Morning are great though.

Not a big fan of the Beatles. I don't really get the hype. Back in the day they were the first of their kind and swept the world. Now there is just bigger, better, badder, things to listen to.

Always been one of my favorite Beatles albums but there are a few songs I can't stand.

I can't say I'm an expert on anything Beatles, but I tend to like their earlier poppy stuff better than there later weird/progressive things. This seems like one of those weird progressive albums, so must be later in their catalog. Not overly impressed by anything I heard - it's ok and therefore 3 stars.

Never loved this. Too inconsistent, especially knowing what they were capable of.

Old...don't like it very much

Joo ihan kiva. Tälläkin levyllä ihan mukavia biisejä, niinkuin beatleilla muutenkin, mutta ei musta koskaan mitään fania tuu.

Alright

Well, it's a classic obviously, and there are tracks I was already very familiar with - like Lucy in the Sky, Help from My Friends - that are great, but I'm not bowled over by the album as a whole. I'm sure in the 60s it was groundbreaking but now, it's ok.

I really dislike the Beatles. Lol

I still don't get this album. It's not bad, but it ranks near the bottom for me as far as Beatles albums go.

It's really hard to give this an honest rating - even though it'd been out for almost 20 years by the time I was born, I've heard some of these songs more than I can remember, and I've listened to the album start to finish at least once or twice trying to "get" it. To this end it's really hard to separate familiarity and an objective review. Realistically it sounds like a lot of the other stuff from that era, doesn't honestly stand out that much - they just got lucky with their popularity. On the other hand, even if it is just a collection of supermarket jingles in 2021, I do tap my foot because I know it all so well. 3/5 is about as honest as I can do.

There are certainly some classic tracks on it, but as a complete album it's not that great. A lot of the stuff sounds outdated or even slightly amusing

•“She’s leaving home” is too sad for me, very depressing •“Being For The benefit of Mr.Kite!” Lowkey sounds like clown music 🤡 •“Within You Without you” gives me old timey folk music vibes •Most other songs are nice and upbeat •Album is sort of confusing to me, has sad songs and up beat songs •With a name like Sgt. Pepper’s lonely hearts club band I thought it would be all sad songs •”Lucy In The Sky With diamonds” is my favorite out of all the songs, just catchy in my opinion •All the songs sound very similar, I feel like they all have the same flow

This was fine. It is the Beatles so it is good, but definitely not my favorite music of theirs. Dont imagine I would want to listen to it over their other stuff.

I liked more than I remember. Still a few songs that were a little to weird for me.

Alright. The Beatles were never my cup of tea.

Asså jag fattar inte riktigt hypen

Några bangers som man hade glömt, jobbig ljudmixing

I mean, I get the whole objective impressiveness of The Beatles. But as for my personal tastes I think album is okay. Probably my favorite of the bunch. But there are some songs I hate listening to, like lucy in the sky with diamonds. The vocals are so intensely grating. So it's a fat eh from me.

Not particularly impressed, especially given the hype, but I'm sure it was more revolutionary for its day. The album art is cool.

An albums that's too famous to look at objectively. I really wonder how I would feel about it coming in cold instead of it being one of the most famous and highly rated albums ever. That said, it's ok. It has a fair few really good songs, but also a lot of songs that to me anyway just feel like filler.

Banger

Never used to get the hype about The Beatles at all, but after uni and chatting to people that like them and then giving them a good try I started to understand it. This one is odd, defo all heavily inspired by psychedelics, the lyrics aren't all that great but they know how to make a catchy tune. None of my fav tracks on here though, I prefer their earlier almost punky stuff. This is prob a 3 or a 4. Really hard to know how to rate, can't help but question whether I'd give it the time of day if it wasn't The Beatles. I reckon 3, but only just, it's good that it's so varied but it really isn't that great, but then again some moments of genius😂. 3/5

dated, with a couple of bangers

2 first songs slap, lucy kinda meh ngl, getting better me mola pero no es de mis favs, fixing a hole fucks, shes leaving home ta guapa, being for the benefit of mr kite es un bopazo, within you without you no me mola, when im sixty four me pone contento, lovely rita wlw anthem, good morning muito bopazo, el reprise esta guapo, a day in the life esta muy bien

Hey Fro. Here what Footy said about you? 3.2/5

Best 2 song opening to an album, triply vibes, but not my fav Beatles record

several songs that I like pretty well, or rather, they're catchy and memorable. always figured I wasn't really a Beatles guy, but maybe this album is better than I gave it credit for? I guess it's still just a 3/5 for me.

pretty good, pretty neat

It was well crafted, but I didn't enjoy it in the way I've enjoyed other Beatles songs

I've never listened to a full Beatles album before. This album exudes confidence to create new sounds without worrying. A sense of carefree jauntiness, but that at times feels slightly indulgent. The middle of the album feels like a stylistic departure from the front and end, but not in a way that was pushing boundaries but rather (perhaps) revealing a lack of consistent creative director or differences among band members. The Beatles still don't resonate with me because you cannot sense any passion, but I can't deny that this album is really solid and earns its place on the list.

pfffffffffffff

First few songs are classics including Fixing a hole but second half falls off.

Very bohemian

Turns out I like the Beatles songs, but I do not actually like the Beatles singing their songs. Across the Universe soundtrack had better versions fr. As did Yesterday for that matter.

Not my favorite beatles album.

I feel bias giving a vote. Didn’t feel like it was anything special but a few were catchy and good. Some of it was really jarring. Still - not for me :(

I love this album but it's probably my third favorite Beatles album

Great first half and then the second happened.

How do I reconcile with the Beatles? Well, this is here, so let's start listening to it. Their famous songs, to me, sound like shite most of the time. I hate most of what they became later, I am not a fan of utilizing other cultures as a fancy, funny dress, and after living years in the UK I really, really can't stand the accent. Not a fan of the uncredited voices on these songs. I understand this is like foundational work when it comes to rock and band culture, but damn there's music older than this that grew older in a nicer, more bearable way: Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Luigi Tenco, damn even Enrico Caruso's music is more bearable than this, nowadays. The production in this album is willingly messy, with electric (I suppose?) organs playing like 20 notes in a whole song, some clappy percussions, repetitive guitar + electric organ riffs used as percussions, and voices that get lost on the musical background. I completely understand the mono and stereo tech limitations of the time, but that does not justify the messy arrangement most of these songs have - I've tried listening to the non-remastered version of it and the remastered version Lossless, and nah, that ain't it, mate. Their pop ballad "She's Leaving Home" is unbearable, mainly due to the lack of a "GREAT" voice. Again, this song could've been a Frank Sinatra song, but in that case it'd have been good, while here it is just a random pop song, to be honest. Lots of violins, lots of soft music, lots of nostalgia, but a huge lack of personality. And no, I don't find the usage of other cultures' instruments particularly amusing, especially but not exclusively when it comes from a british produced album - yeah, looking at you Within You Without You. This is what the hippy movement was in search of: shallow, performative "knowledge" of something unusual, with the certainty of being able to go back to their regular, rich kids' life after all is said and done. Performative leftists going back to their conservative roots as soon as the "weird", long song is over. Now that I finished ranting, the good stuff: These guys were ahead light years - due respect where it's due: their music can sound like good fun and can sound like a heartfelt ballad (at times), it received some influence from American blues, but gave it a decent "different" spin, and it made sense that they broke the market: good looking guys, playing instruments, without a single thought in their brain up until a certain point in their career. There's some foresight of the future electronica genre here, in "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!", with its disastrous mix of orchestral music, weird audio edit, and the circus thingy going on, and in "Within You Without You", although in that case I have a problem with the whole concept of the song. Gotta be honest, I understand why this is musical history, I just can't bring myself to listen to it ever again - it's BORING, unlike a lot of music from the previous ~50 years before this. That's a 2 stars for me, and one of them I give it only because I see its historical value.

Glimmers of something i could enjoy

It's better than the last beatles album this site gave to me (With the Beatles) so I'll give it that. I at least finished listening to this one in full. They're still not really for me though :/ This album feels experimental which I appreciate, I like when bands get weird. Not much more to say about this.

HELLO ok i've already heard this album and i did not really like it. to be honest. but there are a few honest bangers like fool on the hill.

album #74 the best song on this album is the one where they let ringo out of his cage to sing a little ditty. the worst song is where lennon admits to beating women. this album is pretentious, it always has been. the reason the beatles exploded was not solely because of their musical ability, it was also what and who they represented. i do not like the beatles, but i also don't deny the influence. ꩜ average track rating: 2.4/5 ꩜ favourite track(s): with a little help from my friends ꩜ least favourite track(s): getting better, good morning good morning ꩜ album rating: ★★☆☆☆ ꩜ number of albums left to review: 1,015 ꩜ number of albums from the list that i agree with being on the list: 36 (+1 Sgt. Pepper) ꩜ albums from the list that I would consider on my list: 14 ꩜ albums from the list I won't include on my list: 60

Everyone talks about the Beatles like they were some amazing, transformative band, but this shit did not live up to the hype

I really wish I could hear what so many other people hear in The Beatles music. Psychedelic rock is not my jam, I found some of the songs borderline carnival music, and a lot of it just sounded hokey to me. It kind of feels blasphemous to be negative about such a storied and revered album, but it just wasn't for me.

A little basic for 2026

I just don't get it. A few moments of inspiration surrounded by novelty nonsense. This may have been great at the time but as a work of music now it's pants.

Not for me

I just can't get into it

1. lonely - 2 2. friendz - 2 3. lucy - 3 4. better - 1 5. hole - 1 6. home - 2 7. kite - 2 8. you - 2 9. zizty - 2 10. rita - 1 11. morning -1 12. day - 3

Rolled my eyes when this came up, don't really feel any differently now I've listened to it either 🤣 it's not a bad album, it's just not my thing, probably won't listen to it ever again 🤷‍♀️

didnt like most songs:(

Burn the heretic! Burn the heretic! Unfortunately, I can’t locate myself in a musical context when hearing this would be revolutionary. So I’m left instead thinking this was discombobulated, meek in its experimentation, etc. Shoulda kept strawberry fields on here

have listened to it, pretty good.

Not only has this list made me realise that The Rolling Stones most certainly aren't for me, it seems like I have to say the same about The Beatles. This sounds interesting to me on paper but in actuality just does very little for me.

This was pretty bad, even high.

Conocia 6/13. Ninguna nueva. La mejor sin duda A day in the life. Temon 3 canciones fueron a la playlist.

snnnzzz...

I get it’s a classic but just meh

This review is for the 2009 remastered because it's the only version I could find that doesn't include the outtakes. The Beatles are one of the most overrated bands of all time. Most of the vocal performances are either annoying or corny. The instrumentals are better, but they still sound corny on several tracks. The only decent track was "Fixing a Hole".

I went in open minded. I have always found the Beatles annoying and just never got them. Fully appreciate what they done and understand the cultural significance that they have. But i found this just like a child's drawing where they found instruments unique to other cultures and threw them in to sound quirky. Again, i understand that this was the first time it was done so get the hype, but just not for me

2.5/5 A few good songs and some not so good songs. I'm sure I would have loved this if I was alive when it came out but now it's just an ok album.

I just don’t get it. I’m sure at the time this was incredible. It it aged as well as milk from 1967. Overall in a modern context is uninspired and rather traditional which considering it defined pop rock for the rest of time isn’t surprising. The ability for a band to entirely reinvent their sound and develop their style really is what I feel this album contributes to music.

Sounds like I am at a carnival in a fever dream.

this is hard bc there are good songs on this album but not great in the scope of Beatles songs… and then there are a few can misses.

The Beatles like the Beatles too monotone for me

not for me

Nah, I don’t know maybe I wasn’t in the right mood for this album or just don’t understand it, but this wasn’t really it for me. After doing some research for it I suppose at the time it was very impressive and this album that has influenced so many that followed it, but it just sounded too goofy for me (maybe that’s the point?). I think there was some good instrumentals here and there is probably a deeper meaning to this album which again maybe I’m missing. This is my second Beatles album, and I still just haven’t quite connected with them. I don’t know if it’s because you always hear how good they are which sets your expectations so high that when you come to listen to them it’s kind of underwhelming. Overall, this just wasn’t it for me I’m willing to accept I’m maybe missing something but at the moment its 2 stars I’m sorry. I’m a 2001 baby but even so I like a lot of music from every decade and genre, so why am I not a really big beatles fan? I like some of their songs yes but not the biggest fan of this album. I will continue to go into Beatles album open minded like every album on this project. Maybe something will click with them in the future or is it just you feel like you should like them just because everyone else does, who knows? Anyway, there’s my review guys.

I'm not the biggest Beatles fan and I have heard most of these songs. This album doesn't have me favorite songs from the band but their cultural influence and the impact on future bands can't be understated. That being said its not a band I will choose myself when picking what music I want to listen to.

don’t think i’d listen again

i do not particularly care for the beatles

Bra for meg.

The Beatles have been a crutch for the musically inept since their inception. Did they have good songs, sure, are they musical geniuses that should be held to higher standards, not even close. This albums visuals and silly song titles are the most positive outcome from this project. The experimentation produces boring interludes and obscure lyrics that don’t generate enough interest to yearn for deeper meaning.

Maybe if I was listening in 1967 I would have enjoyed a lot more, but it’s all a bit too trippy for me now in 2025.

Not a massive fan, I like the Beatles but wouldn’t choose to listen to this album

I have never understood the accolades this album has ever garnered. With a Little Help from my Friends is a banger, and the title track and A Day in the Life are good songs, but the rest of this album is just crap children's carnival music. The later Beatles are wildly overrated.

Ngl the beatles got here come the sun and nothing else. Glaze is unjustified

Didn’t care for this record much at all. Usually at least one song gets me or has something interesting for me but I just didn’t get that here

Old ghost trauma album for me.

ehhhh idk im generally not really a beatles fan anyway (i think theyre overhyped dont shoot me) so it was a bit of a tough listen tbh but i didnt absolutely hate it, some tracks were good it felt somewhat psychedelic at parts which was interesting to listen to at like 9 in the morning the title track was probably my favourite lucy in the sky with diamonds was not bad either i read up a bit and apparently this was one of their more outlandish/experimental albums so that's why it was a bit weirder i am open to becoming a beatles fan, i dont hate them just for the sake of it i just need good recs :( hey jude is lowkey fire though i might do some more digging but yeah all in all a bit of a miss for me....

The cohesion & flow of this album is undeniable, and you can absolutely see how the quality of the production & the experimental song-writing would have been revolutionary at the time of release. However, there is something about this album that makes it fall flat for me. There are a number of tracks that have little to no impact as individual songs, and the delivery across the album does come across as pretty dated in parts. There are no doubt strong moments on the album and small elements that will remain iconic for years to come, but despite the album’s cohesiveness I come away from it feeling slightly underwhelmed.

I don't get it. :/

There's some fun blends of genre here but I just feel that you have to be obligated to like the Beatles

not into drugs, thanks classic that is not enjoyable to listen to

Honestly? It's not my thing. I realized about 15 seconds in that I had to switch to mono to hear the album correctly on Spotify. But even then, I found the music abrasive and irritating.

I mean, I liked the Beatles so far, but this record is just all over the place. No coherence, no line, a couple of good tracks. Disappointed. Good Morning is a fucking disgrace.

Starts and ends strongly but the middle is full of jangly guitars and inane ramblings. Wasn't for me.

too hippy for me, 4/10

Love songs, I guess? Not my thing. Needs more depressing OR upbeat. Something.

I feel like the Beatles benefits from cover bands, their music is quite boring but cover bands make it actually good

Po prostu nie

Too much whimsy.

It's the Beetles, I don't think a review from me is all that necessary. It was OK. Some real weird choices on this record though so I'll have to dock it a point. "With a Little Help from My Friends" will be making it to the playlist. ~ 2 Stars

Trash.

🥱😴

Sorry, The Beatles still just don't do it for me. I don't think this album is objectively bad and I can appreciate some of the musicianship here, but intrinsically it's just another dud for me. 2.3

One of the better Beatles albums but I still don't like the Beatles

It certainly does a lot. I must’ve felt differently were I around when it was released. Instead I’m just glad I got the far superior stuff they influenced rather than having to suffer through the Beatles themselves.

Was good but too repeating

I’m starting to like the Beatles less…this album isn’t great. When I’m 64 reminds me of primary school, it was one of the ones we sang, randomly

This album has a revered place in pop music history, one that I don't share unfortunately. I respect its innovative recording techniques and psychedelic tone, that's about it.

It was okay. Really not my thing.

"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" est une rêverie psychédélique magnifique. "Within You Without You" de Harrison est une fusion hypnotique et sincère.

Boring circus music Also, I seem to be the only person who likes the beatles but not this album

2 stars. I liked 2 songs, being: Getting better and a day in life. I just think the beatles as a band is generally boring and overrated, they were the first, but because of that they don't do anything that others do better. Its just the most basic form of the genre, that just makes them not hit ngl. It was original, but in today world, they dont do anything orignal compared to better artists. The album wasn't bad, it was alright, just nothing special so 2 stars. Worse than average as only 2 songs I liked.

Oh man. This one is overrated. It’s fine - I’m not going to slag it just for being overplayed/hyped. The songs are ingrained in all of us. BUT, the northern soul and Indian bits were already there from Rubber Soul. The more technical bits - 4 track becoming 8 (or 16?) tracks via mixdown magic happened on Revolver. Jimi’s version of Sgt Pepper is better. I’m not a fan of the bloated orchestra extras on Mr Kite or 64. Also, I think I prefer the tempo on the Sgt Pepper Reprise. Decay at the end of A Day in the Life is cool though.

Listened to it on the drive home, I couldn’t differentiate between the nursery rhymes. Might have pepper in the name, but it was as bland as a 1 year olds porridge.

The maniac that shot John Lennon should have finished the job and got the rest of them.

I can’t believe the nonsense. Every song has some good bits. Some songs having really impressive bits. All massively outweighed by nonsense, either lyrically or musically. It’s like school kids wrote an album with access to a keyboard like ross from friends, except instead of lasers and rocket sounds its barn yard animals and film scores from the 50s.

Never rated this album. I swear it's just an hour of confused john Lennon on acid spouting random bollocks.

A lot of these songs I never want to listen to again Some of those had good parts but then also parts I never wanted to listen to again I few songs are okay for the right vibe

6ieme album des Beatles généré. De celui ci j'avais entendu : "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" Mais globalement autant de remplissage que les 5 autres albums ... =>2/5

Has some classic songs but not really

Probably an unpopular opinion here. It was just okay. Not my favorite Beatles album. I dig the album art though.

Oy. 2 stars predicted?

Exactly how I felt listening to every other Beatles album I heard on this list - I respect, understand, and see the greatness and influence the Beatles had on music. I just wish I personally enjoyed their music a little more in practice.

I just have an aversion to the Beatles

Not great for a Beatles album

Highlights: Within You Without You, A Little Help From My Friends. In a nutshell: everything all at once. George: "Try to realise it's all within yourself. No-one else can change your mind." Ringo: "I get by with a little help from my friends" John: "I want to turn you on..." Paul: "Lovely Rita, meter maid. Nothing can come between us. When it gets dark, I tow your heart away..." George is pretty deep here as a 24 year old. Paul's vaudeville fixation starts. John get's lazy and writes a song that's circus themed. Refreshing to hear Ringo up front on his sole song with Paul George and John providing backing vocals. So many styles and influences jumbled together onto the one album. One of the highest selling of all time. Critically lauded. Pop culture fixture. I daresay this is the overrated Beatles album on the list. Ambitious for the time, for sure. It just doesn't hold up with repeat listens as a full album. I'm disappointed. Maybe the hype killed it for me? Overall: 3/10

De opening gaat over in het tergend saaie With a Little Help from My Friends. En het stereotype Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds volgt. Ja hoor, weer die verlengde lettergrepen. Lucy in the Skyeyeyeyeye with Diamonds.

The most overrated, overhyped, over-lauded, boring canonical rock album of all time. I've always hated it. I've hated it since the day I got the Rolling Stone 500 greatest albums coffee table book in like 2005 and set about understanding the shape of the cultural critical consensus canon, and subsequently wasted $15 on a remastered CD copy at my local FYE CD shop. I grew up on classic rock radio where this record got no burn, outside of maybe the occasional spin of Sgt Peppers --> With a Little Help From My Friends, and the even more occasional late night run of "A Day in the Life" which really are the only worthwhile things here. I maybe have a little time of day for "Getting Better" but just about everything else here is like audio melatonin for me. These sonic, studio experiments feel entirely like cerebral exercises and there's little to no emotional heft, weight, or impact in the music. Which is maybe why I actually kind of like "When I'm Sixty-Four" which despite all it's twee, cutesy-ness actually manages to express a cute sentiment. Magical Mystery Tour is superior in my mind, and since I've always been one to take sides in binary musical debates this album can't hold a candle to Pet Sounds.

Album is pretty mid overall. The only song I liked was Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. I'm sure it was groundbreaking for the time, but nothing stuck out to me as amazing really.

I just dont like the Beetles much. But it gains a star for an attempt at some world music (Sitar?) on track 8. More World music is what the world needs.

No ta. Drone drone drone. Wah-w-wah.

i can appreciate that they were trying something different but i didn't enjoy the album felt all over the place and just weird at times , and just hasn't aged well

I like the Beatles... I think? Yes. Maybe? Oh no... Favourite track: She's Leaving Home.

Just Beatles xD I never was a fan.

The normal songs are great, the dumb songs are really annoying

Taas Beatlesin levy, mitä mää en oikein ymmärtänyt. En tiiä, en kauheasti ainakaan nauttinut kuuntelusta. Parhaat: Within You Without You, A Day In The Life

Don’t like the Beatles. Lucy in the Sky with diamonds is absolutely about drugs.

I think you had to be there in order to understand the hype around the Beatles. This is my first listen of the album. I don't know if I've heard any of these songs before, but it's possible. It's the Beatles. This is the absolutely worst rendition of 'With a Little Help from My Friends' that I've ever heard. They should have sold it instead of recording it themselves. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is just trash. Skipped half of Fixing a Hole because it was just boring. That's really the issue with The Beatles. A lot of their songs are just... boring. Most of them sound empty and devoid of life and I know that's not an 'era' thing because other songs recorded during that time don't have that issue. Within You Without You finally sounds like a song that has something going on that's aurally interesting. Too bad you had to wait until the 8th track on the album to have something worth listening to. When I'm Sixty Four is at least catchy. Lovely Rita brings us back to bad music. Completely skippable. This is supposed to be one of The Beatles greatest albums, isn't it? Well, it has one song worth listening to and one song that's catchy, though I'd prefer to listen to someone else perform it. Maybe that's the issue. Maybe they should just be songwriters shopping their music instead of performing it themselves. Also, the choice at the last two songs to go into utter dissonance was awful and unnecessary.

what the fuck is this shit? only the last song was decent and the only thing that saved this shitshow of an album from a one star review.

Fun album. No real Beatles bangers, but a solid listen.

Wait a minute, this isn't Magical Mystery Tour!? (2/10)

I love three songs and don’t like the rest very much.

Idk. Felt gimmicky, white boy tried weed for the first time

Started off alright, but it started to really drag in the middle. I recognized a couple of songs again but overall I don't think I liked it. Maybe I just don't get The Beatles?

Ok album, 3/10 at best

The only good one is Day In The Life. The rest is tepid.

I don't really see where all the fuss is about.

I did not enjoy the show.

Honestly, people say the Beatles are overrated and they kind of are BUT they are also very sick.. the opening on this track (also the track the album is named after) 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' but like John Lennon is screaming on that track its fucking sick. Its weird because this album is really sick if you're into psychedelics and are doing them, but like.. if you're not, I can see how this can be seen as "overrated". My favorite song is 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' Overall: 2.8/5

Not reallt a fan of the beetles. I think they are a bit overrated.

Boooooo

Lucy in the sky is one I recognized and will make it into my regular playlist. Most of the others are neutral/pass.

Not a beatles fan, a couple hits.

A few good songs that definite classics but wasn't overall vibing with it as much

Absolute banger of an opening song! But man I’m getting tired of the Beatles and assoc. acts. Also the western idolization of indian mysticism in Within you without you makes me roll my eyes. As an Indian who knows that alot of that mysticism originates from uncleji’s who just like to pontificate to feel important about shit they know nothing about, alot of the western gaze on this annoys me. So this song annoyed me, which (because this is the 4th beatle associated album I’ve listened to in the past 10 days) made the album annoy me. 5/5 for musicality 2/5 overall

It isn’t the Beatles best album

This is my least favorite Beatles. I get why people love this, and why it’s considered great and important, BUT British music hall mixed with psychedelia is my personal hell. There are a couple hits I’m very familiar with but most of this album I’m unlikely to ever listen to again. Stuff like Mr Kite and When I’m 64 are straight up torturous listens.

I get why it’s on the list and objectively it has to be, but subjectively… has there ever been a band as overhyped as the beatles?

Meh, The Beatles don't really do it for me

‘I used to be cruel to my woman, I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved’ But hey! It's getting better you see, better all the time! Anyway, Beatles make poppy music, they beat you over the head with it, they pop you in the mouth with it, and you'll come back to it, cause you like the abuse, don't you? Don't you? You dirty little whore! Two pops to the nose out of five 🥊🥊

Oh The Beatles. What to say. I just don’t get on with it all but then a song comes on and I’m like ‘Ooo.’ This album has some of those on it.

this is not my favourite band

This is the definition of an overrated album. The amount of hype portraying this as perfection in musical form hurts it and forces you to listen more critically and decrease your own rating. This album is not bad. It's much more important to the Beatles and their mythos than it is important to music as a whole. It's decent but not great. There are better Beatles albums for sure.

The Beatles is certainly not my thing. I don't get any excitement from their songs. Didn't like it.

Blues chords and catchy chorus’. Not much else going on don’t really get the hype.

It was okay.

A lot of iconic songs

couldn't really get into it

Its a Beatles album I guess. Not sure if I went into it with too high of expectations or it was something else.

When I was a kid, this was a 5. I knew every word and we often sang songs from it on our many drives between Washington DC and home shuttling between parents. I think now it has faded for me, possibly fueled by angst and resentment. lol. #overshare.

Not a huge fan of the Beatles, this album didn't change my mind

Lucy in the sky

Only two good songs i enjoyed. With a little help and a day in the life. Others seemed cheesy and not what i enjoy hearing from the beatles usually.

This is actually one of my least favorite Beatles albums. There's just something about it that doesn't click with me like the others do. I don't care for this one, but I get the praise.

Fav songs: - Intro - Lovely Rita - A Day in the Life Least fav: - Every song with a fade-out

Massively overrated

I truly don't understand what people like so much about the Beatles. Something about the vocal tone just hits my brain in the wrong way for me. I did enjoy this more than I expected when it came up but it's never going to be something I decide to listen to myself.

„A day in the Life“ reißt es dramatisch hoch Ohne 1.7 Mit 2.4

Just sounds and feels juvenile to me

Nichts besonderes

Not that special

Disappointing

That feel when something (vocals, a dominant instrument) is designed to come out of one ear: 0/10. Guess it's (hard panning apparently) a common thing with these old albums cause it keeps happening. I detest it personally; it's very uncomfortable when wearing headphones. Also might be that it's done better in modern music and they just didn't do it comfortably in these old albums. 2/5 for the uncomfortable listening experience but 3/5 without that and 4/5 for a few songs.

it was alright, def had too high expectations for it liked tracks: when im sixty four, with a little help from my friends

whatever

The last song is kinda terrifying

Kuunteli läpi ilman kummempia tuntemuksia.

Olihan levyllä muutama kiva biisi, mut ei pessyt omia Beatlesien lemppareita. Taso niihin nähden aika alhaalla tällä levyllä

The biggest load of hippy crap ever committed to tape

I do not like the Beatles

Malo como torturar un macaco

det shi ahh twin. fuh dem niggas

you cant pay me to listen to thgis

Overrated band and album. I've been listening to Led Zeppelin non-stop for the last several weeks, and I think I've been spoiled with Robert Plant's phenomenal vocals. In comparison, the Beatles sound mediocre, and remind me of chipmunks. I couldn't wait for this album to be over. I do not understand the hype, and I find the melodies and vocals to be quite basic. Just not for me. Less Beatles please.

overrated

Overrated shit

fuck the beatles

never really got the chance to understand why these blokes were so popular but hey 1/13 songs added, I remember back in the day I had the song A day in the life added because its honestly a great song but the ending always terrified me idk something about the ladies repeating the same sentence reminds me of dolls that are broken and even the music in the background whilst they're doing that is horrifying 1.5/5

Zu esoterisch

they didn't deserve their game

I do not like Beatles music

FINALLY FREEEEEE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

I just don't get it. Nothing in it really grabbed me. The Aretha Franklin record was from the same year. So different. No connection with this.

Not a fan of this album. Wasn’t my thing

#4 Another classic for a reason. Inflection of their 60s voices is something I cannot get past.

Not my thing

dam druggies

I get it. They changed the world. Doesn’t mean I have to like it.

two beatle albums on a row to me, the biggest beatle hater in the world, feels very personal. square up, 1001 albums generator dot com.

Words cannot express how much I hate this stupid fucking band.

The Beatles are the Backstreet Boys of the 60s.

The audio balancing is so freaking lop-sided -- hate that. How did women faint at this? This is the most mid thing I've listened to so far.

Oh great another Beatles album… It’s fine, I think everyone knows at least a few of these songs. As I’ve said before I’m just not a big Beatles guy. So it goes.

surreal, interrupting

I've never actually listened to this album. I didn't know they did With a Little Help From my Friend. Pretty much the only good song here. Lucy in the Sky isn't bad, but takes a while to pick up. Overall, a garbled mess. Would never listen to this again.

HATE the Beatles

Toooooo crazy

1. I don't like the first track. It's ridiculous and there are too many strange sounds that don't want to go together. 2. This track is quite nice. Chilled with a nice beat. Nothing overly pitchy or annoying. 3. The lyrics are good but the pitchy instrument the song starts with is incredibly annoying to the ear. Would be so much better with more piano and less pitchy noise. 4. This song started promising but quickly became repetitive and ended up leaving no impression other than the need for it to finish faster. 5. It leaves no impression and makes no real mark, but it's enjoyable filler. 6. The strings on this is so beautiful. Feels like a poem put to music in a dreamscape. I liked it. 7. The drums were annoying. Sounded like bad vocals over a marching band practice. And then there's the carnival sounds that didn't belong at all. They did the wrong drugs while recording this track. 8. The indian instumental an indian influence sounded nice, but was out of place with the vocals. The vocals were hazy and didn't coherently fit. 9. This song was cute. I liked it. 10. They lyrics are very very dated. I'm sure it sounded better in the 60's and 70's. The song didn't make an impact. 11. Is that a freakin Kazoo i hear? And farm animals? This song is a jumbled mess of sounds and instruments. Not even the vocals make it sound like 1 coherent song. It sounds awful. I hated it. 12. Better than the version on track 1, but still not a good song. Thankfully it was very short. 13. The song wasn't awful, but the vocals, once again, are too far in the background. As if though it were an echo of what it's supposed to be. And again, the marching band and random sounds ruin something that could have been mediocre, but has been elevated to awful. All in all, I don't like this album. Would never listen to it ever again.

Not my favorite Beatles album. Skipped many songs.

Fuck the Beatles.

pretentious drivel.

Simplesmente não consigo curtir muito essa banda :(

Absolute nonsense dogshif

What to say about this that hasn't been said already? I appreciate the experimentation here, but the tunes, other than Day In The Life And Within You, are pretty much nursery rhyme levels of sophistication. I do like lots of what the The Beatles recorded, but couldn't imagine sitting down to listen to this through as an album by choice, except as a document of the time. It's very silly.

boring, tinny, predictable. sounds like music from a children's tv show.

Not a Beatles fan.

Everyone wanted to be like them, and this is one of those works that changed music forever.

The Beatles are overrated!!

Exceptional!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
