Reviews (page 13 of 13)

- it can’t be every damn Bob Dylan album - this one was slightly better - the song about his dream was brutal

Bob Dylan really pioneered the harsh noise with his stupid fucking harmonica

Not a country fan

I respect Bob Dylan don't get me wrong here. But just not my thing, the voice just grates me. I respect you Bob!! But I judt can't do it. So for that we start -1 star. As for the themes of the album, I enjoy. He was a young man here discussing young people concerns in the 60s. He really likes the name Maggie. On The Road Again is lyrically amazing.

I’ve never loved Dylan but this was fine No desire to revisit it but didn’t grate like some of his other stuff does with me

Mr. Tambourine Man is great but the rest leaves me cold. The rambling folk-rock delivery and loose songwriting just don’t hit the depth or dynamics I look for. I do not want to revisit this.

Early Bob Dylan. This only means one thing - I'm about to have my ears blown out by the loudest harmonica known to man, causing life-long tinnitus. ...Okay so this was just more generic Country. I was tricked into listening to Country again. God damn it, Robert Allen Zimmerman.

Not a fan.

Tambourine man is great, the rest... ho hum.

Another Bob Dylan?! How many albums does he have on this list..? I don't dislike him but his music is not something I would choose to listen to. Also, not sure if this album is worse than the previous ones I got from him or if I'm just tired of listeng to him, but while the others got a 3, this is a 2.

Decent

It's another bland Bob Dylan album. I don't really get this guy

1. Subterranean homesick blues- good start to the album, very raw inatrumentals and vocals, very upbeat, not keen on the harmonica, love dylans vocals are on key with this one (liked the song) 7/10 2. She belongs to me- not too keen on dylans vocals on this one, but the lyrics are good, again just not too keen on that harmonica and found it quite boring 4/10 3. Maggies farm- loved the instrumental again very raw and upbeat nice vocals (bloody harmonica) did feel a bit repetitive 5/10 4. Love minus zero- love his vocals on this one, very sentimental lyrics, the instrumental goes really well with this one, very soft song that i would play on a date (liked the song) 6/10 5. Outlaw blues- loved the guitar, vocals on point, very upbeat 4/10 6. On the road again- harmonica was a bit much( i really don’t like harmonica lmao) nice guitar and drums though loved the lyrics, 4.5/10 7. Bob dylans 115th dream- loved the laughter and the halt of the song at the beginning, lyrics are almost telling a story that feels so real as you are following alone, really loved that, feels like his personal manifesto i actually didnt mind the harmonica in this one, the song did drag a bit (liked the song) 5.5/10 8. Mr. Tambourine man- liked his vocals, loved the acoustic, 4/10 9. Gates of eden- again nice vocals and brilliant acoustics and amazing lyrics did drag a bit and found it a bit boring- 4/10 10. It’s alright ma(i’m only bleeding)- didnt listen 11. It’s all over now baby blue- didnt listen Dylans vocals were on point and songwriting wise he is very talented however it was not my cup of tea and found that i was quite bored with the album. Fav song: subterranean homesick blues least fav- cant comment Overall album rating: 4/10

Not my favorite genre of music, but didn’t hate it. Good construct of lyrics and instruments. Wouldn’t listen to again by choice.

Wow, it's like that Weird Al Palindrome song. Over and over and over. Don't hate it, but the reedy goofy voice kinda grates after a while.

Just cannot get into Bob Dylan. 2/5

I'm tired of the album

fidèle à lui même

Way too folky for me.

While listening to this, I thought to myself that I don’t listen to Bob Dylan; I endure him. Nevertheless, this was alright. It had a good pace throughout. I still didn’t really like it overall, though.

I’m just not a fan of Dylan. It’s hard for me to listen to him. This was almost tolerable so I’ll slide through as a 2. No playlist adds.

It turns out I don't really like Bob Dylan.

I understand music can often be made for specific occasions and in the case of rock n' roll its most often for dance. This album was more a collection of hit songs than a cohesive album. The stories, lyrics and delivery are sly and enjoyable in each song, but most of the songs share the same cadence and get repetitive in succession. Overall I don't think this album matches my tastes.

Ah, another Bob Dylan album. I get the acclaim for him as an artist but even though this album contains some classics like Mr Tambourine Man, it really lacks variety - it's all strumming, strange stories told through lyrics, harmonica solos and, what I found unreasonably frustrating, outros that just fade out. The latter as I say really irritated me for some reason, it felt incredibly lazy. Just finish a song with a flourish once in a while!

Whiney and nasal. Some high points but a lot of mediocre points too

nonsense nonsense harmonica

A bit repetitive for me. Also sounded like he was just rambling on and on. Listening to it was okay, some of the lyrics seemed... dated we'll say.

I don’t have much of a reaction to this. I have learned that I really don’t like harmonicas.

Another Dylan album comes up - at least this one starts with the one song I usually quite like by Dylan, unfortunately after that it all sounds like the stuff I can't be doing with, like it's a parody of what someone recons Dylan sounds like. Why would you want to hear a song just by a dude with a tambourine? And why would you then write a song about that, and make it go on for 5 and a half minutes, I just don't get it. There are a couple of points later on that manage to skew this but overall it's not for me.

Track 1: Subterranean Homesick Blues Is this supposed to be.. singing? He’s just sing talking. I don’t even know what he’s going on about. The lyrics are wacky and I guess they’re about obeying rules or something. Harmonica steals the show. Track 2: She Belongs to Me This song is about a woman that just stands out and is so independent, she’ll blow a man away with her spirit and energy. Sounds like this girl has a main character mentality. Harmonica once again steals the show. Track 3: Maggie’s Farm Bob Dylan doesn’t want to work for Maggie or any of her family members. What is the point of this song again? It’s so goofy but is probably the most enjoyable of the songs I have heard so far. Mr. Dylan doesn’t like working hard labor, I guess. I wish it was that easy, man. I feel like I’ve heard this song before somewhere.. Track 4: Love Minus Zero A love song about a woman that is just so perfect and sounds like a girl that doesn’t even exist. It’s way too disconnected from the lyrics to be genuine or sweet. Every single song sounds very similar. Basic guitar chords, harmonica solo, and some mediocre singing if you could call it that. Track 5: Outlaw Blues I am not sure what this song is about. This sounds a bit more funky than the other songs. Strumming is faster and is catchy but the lyrics are not good. Then he goes on about a “brown skinned girl” he has. Why did he have to include that? Track 6: On the Road Again Harmonica back at it again. This song is goofy-silly-funny-outrageous. It’s fine. Harmonica goes massively hard. Track 7: Bob Dylan’s 115th Dream Oh god why is this song SIX MINUTES long?! I don’t know if I can sit through this. The laughing fit at the beginning was contagious, i gotta admit. This song has the best storytelling. If you can keep up with the story though. I’m assuming this is about a dream he had..? Track 8: Mr. Tambourine Man This song is much more slow and soft. I like it. Track 9: Gates of Eden Idk what Bob Dylan’s going on about in this song, but it surely has nothing to do with the Bible. Maybe he’s talking about heaven perhaps. This song is boring. Track 10: It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding) Another 6 minute long song. It’s very sing songy without much singing. I like the lyrics. Sounds like hopelessness and he is singing to his mother about how he feels. Track 11: It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue This higher range singing is not very fit for his voice. It just sounds high pitched and irritating.

could be fun. Certainly early bob dylan is better than late.

a very bob Dylan album no song is memorable

Miellekästä musiikkia.

True, this is a classic. But not one I’d listen to often. Query; Is Dylan a proto-rapper?

Too much harmonica

Very Dylan. Some of the songs had the same melody as each other

I am a massive folk fan and I absolutely recognize how amazing of a songwriter he is. I however hate Bob Dylan. I think almost every Bob Dylan cover is better than his originals. That is certainly the case here with "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", easily the best two songs on the album. Both of them were done considerably better by The Byrds. Dylan's voice pre Royal Albert Hall concert is considerably better than after. But it is still just so nasally. And OH MY GOD put down the fucking harmonica once in awhile! After this list I will probably never intentionally play a Bob Dylan song again. This however does not deserve the one star that most of his other albums do.

Maybe this album was innovative at the time, but now it sounds old-timey and boring. Not to mention Dylan's voice is annoying.

His whiny voice just ruins it for me. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me and I can't get past it to hear anything else. What did he use to counter the whiny voice? A high-pitched harmonica that was even more ear piercing. Not for me.

I know Bob Dylan is one of the greats in terms of music but I really don’t get it. There’s nothing about his music that stands out to me other than his less than mediocre voice.

Not very good

I know there's gonna be a lot more Dylan to come, but I just don't think I'll every be able to move on from the terrible whiney voice and the harmonica, no matter how good the songwriting

I knew I'd come across a lot of Bob Dylan throughout my 1001 albums journey, and I'm never in the mood for it. I'm starting to think that I have a problem with the harmonica. I do like Subterranean Homesick Blues though.

Couple of songs I liked

Bob's boring

Please, no more fucking Dylan.

Not my genre but appreciate the sounds

Two good songs, the rest hasn’t aged well

obviously, Mr Tambourine Man is a banger, but this is a pretty slow album and folk isn't high on my list.

I like the opening track and was hoping for a similar theme for the album but this time in history must have been truly miserable if Bob Dylan was considered groundbreaking. Rambling, monotonous lyrics coupled with a droning melodies and an attempt to reduce to the monotony with a one size fits all harmonica solo. God awful, boring and truly miserable.

Also punktuell geht’s („Love Minus Zero“) aber Albumlänge …?!? angenervte 1.6

Good transition between his early folk and electro r&b/rock n roll. I prefer "Highway...", "Blonde..." and "Nashville..." 2.75 because although it can see it's good, I hardly ever listen to it.

As far as Dylan's album go, this is not the worst. The lyrics are great as usual, however it lacks everything else. The melody, voice, and harmonica are repetitive, so enjoy it in small doses unless that's your jam.

unpopular opinion es un poco boring

It was ok, not on par with blonde on blonde though

Nota: 4/10

Two bangers. And that's about it.

Pas mal! Mr tambourine man/Subteranean/Maggie's farm

I was ready to give this 3* as I enjoyed the first handful of songs which I didn't expect but by the end of the album I'd had enough of his voice and the songs weren't different enough to keep my interest despite that. 2*

Det ik mig

I just get sick of his voice after like 40 seconds in each song... I guess he’s the greatest lyricist ever or something but he’s also the most nasally singer too then.

I wouldn’t say that I listened to Dylan as a kid, but we had a best of album that was played pretty frequently. I see why there were only a few of these songs on it; the song after “Maggie’s Farm” _sucks_, and Hey, Mr Tambourine Man did you know this song goes on for a few verses too long?

Subterranean Homesick Blues" / "She Belongs to Me" Released: March 8, 1965 "Maggie's Farm" / "On the Road Again" Released: June 1965 "Gates of Eden" Released: July 20, 1965

meh, too upbeat even for a dylan album

60's American folk = not my thing. Next.

Bob Dylan halt. Nicht so mein Ding...

Not the best of his

Haven’t listened to Dylan in a while so this was great. Not the best album though

sooo boring and repetitive

Matig, erg alternatief

It's nice to have finally heard Bob Dylan, but I'm not a big fan. Worth a listen, but not my style.

Here's another artist that is objectively great but has ALWAYS turned me off. This album doesn't grate on me the way other 1 stars do, so it gets a 2 star rating. Please don't make me listen to another Bob Dylan album though. Please.

I did not like it. There is something very unpleasant about the sound of a harmonica

1. bluez - 2 2. me - 1 3. farm - 2 4. zero - 1 5. outlauu - 2 6. road - 2 7. dream - 2 8. man - 2 9. eden - 1 10. alright - 1 11. baby - 1

I didn’t enjoy this album due to mostly how it sounded like. I understand and appreciate some of the topics the album was talking about but I didn’t enjoy it at all and caught myself multiple times not paying attention.

Day 1 I really did not like this album, I guess I can appreciate that it pioneered something? but yeah overall basically hated listening to it. It's like some raunchy farm guy was singing in my ear the entire time and it was so annoying.

Not for me

shut up bob

god this shit sucks so fucking bad the harmonica makes my blood boil

eu me recuso

I try. I really do. But I just don't get this guy at all. His voice is so irritating and annoying. The positives - I heard Eden in there. I have a niece named Edynne. Haven't seen her in awhile and I'd like to give her a hug. Maggie's Farm is a great song when performed by RATM. That's it. I'll go above 1 for thinking of Edynne and Rage. 1.5

*An ok album

Nope, can't do it. I tried, but I had to turn it off - I know he's a legend, but I just can't listen to his voice!!

I was wondering why I never checked out legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, oh right, I can not stand his voice! The music is typical honkytonk folksy stuff but the grating vocals, holy torture! Sounds like drunk yelling half the time. It's genuinely impressive how messy he can make a song sound despite minimal instrumentation. The first half of the album yaps about country life drudgery, by the time his poetic imagery shines on Tambourine Man I've practically closed my ears and am mentally begging the music to end so I can read the lyrics off Genius in peace.

I've been dreading this day. I hate Bob Dylan. Leonard Cohen gave strong competition, but Dylan remains the worst vocalist of all time. His voice grates on me like no one else's. The music is alright but can't overcome his obnoxious vocals. And while I normally don't care about lyrics, Dylan's are so dumb that I can't ignore them. DNF'd the album.

Holy Mid! Bit biased as I don’t like Bob Dylan generally, but Jesus Christ almost every song sounds the exact same, stereotypical country trash. Bob slurs his words almost enough to be on par with current age mumble rap; before it was cool or the “vocalists” became, generally, retarded. Thank Christ Mr Tambourine is the outlier, easily the diamond standout amongst the shit you have to wade through.

Couldn't finish it. Not my thing. Maybe I'll try again another time.

Bob Dylan, 5eme album => 1/5

Wasn't a fan of this one at all.

I gave this a 1 earlier already. 1/5

noise and jangles and a horrible singing voice

country sucks

Christ almighty, what an asshole. Bob Dylan insists on himself and he’s tiresome. Ughhnhg! My fans love my music and I hate them for it! Remember when he was into religion for awhile? As if he wasn’t already preachy enough. This fucking album is so fucking tedious that I’m going have to listen to The Black Album to help me forget this God awful record exists.

Sorry Bob, I respect you and your place in music history, but your shit sounds bland.

First time exploring folk rock. Not the biggest fan although interesting to try! Favorite songs: Bob Dylan's 115th Dream and It's Alright Ma

Ok, I agree that Bob Dylan needs to be on this list. I agree that he is an amazing songwriter and that he changed the game. But damn, there are just too many of his records on this list. I can't stand it anymore. All of the covers of his songs from other artists are better than his versions.

Not for me

I quit at Maggie's Farm. I can't with his voice & harmonica.

I used to not like Bob Dylan, then I had a period when I listened to him and kind of liked him, and then ended back up disliking him. So I’m open to having my mind changed, but it’s not going to be this album that does it. Rambling stream of consciousness lyrics with shitty guitar playing and harmonica, I just don’t get it.

2/7 bob dylan albums down There's nothing new going on here: - I've either heard these riffs before or he's just strumming - His voice is as gritty as ever - The harmonica is more tolerable than usual but still hurts my ears from time to time - Whenever I can make out the lyrics they are about nothing (no I'm not going to read and try to interpret the lyrics) People rave about him using an electric guitar in this one but all he does is play it like he's playing an acoustic. and gives up on it halfway through. The adverts between each song were a nice break I feel dizzy after this so I'm blaming the album only 5 more to go... 1

Fuck you bob dylan

2/5 maybe even 1/5. Too folksy or town or something. Idrk because his voice is eh and the country feeling isn't it. so maybe 1/5 because this isn't my vibe and the harmonica isn't doing it for me

I've heard about this Bob Dylan guy. His delivery is so much more annoying than I expected. Its actually making me have a physical reaction. First album so far I won't be finishing, I am too fucking irritated.

Day 141 and once again, I am plagued by Bob Dylan...

Unfortunately I am not a Bob Dylan fan. This made me anxious to listen to

Very different from my usual taste so far, not hating it but would not go back to any songs All songs kinda sound the same Lowkey whimsical Ok his voice is getting kinda annoying and that damn harmonica I tried so hard to like it but gosh his voice is like nails on a chalkboard I appreciate his work and stuff but really not for me I got to the second last song, thought i was like 5 minutes away from being done and this song is like 8 minutes long omg The chord progression is the same every song i swear bro TURN THIS SHIT OFF OMG Finally thought a song was tolerable then he brought out that goddamn harmonica

I just don't care for Bob Dylans voice. I don't understand the hype. I fear there will be many more Bob Dylan records among the 1000.

His voice is annoying

Obviously he can write songs pretty well but I would prefer other people to perform them. His voice ruined at least half the songs on here.

The most Bob Dylan-y thing I've ever heard, and I mean that very unfavorably

Only 1 or 2 songs are cool... I just can't with the rest

qualcuno gli togli quell’armonica dalle mani

Yes he’s iconic. No I can’t stand his music

I do not like Bob Dylan get him away from me

Bob dylan again? Why? Where's the variety

I realize more and more that I am not a Bob Dylan fan. "Mr Tambourine Man" was fine, but the rest is quite a lot of whining in a tone that I don't quite like

What trip on some early Bob thoughts.

I don't like country

REALLY BAD, the music might be good if Bob Dylan would shut his fucking trap.

A very well respected journalist once said that Bob Dylan “was a busker who got lucky”. That journalist was correct. This is the most overrated album yet (excluding The Dark Side Of The Moon) on this list. Let’s break down why this album is rubbish. Dylan’s voice is among the worst I have heard on this list; it’s grating and whiny. It’s almost as unlistenable as Thom Yorke on Hail To The Thief. I made it to the last song on this record, but I had to bail after 2 minutes. The vocals made me quit. When he raises his voice, it makes me flinch. It sounds like somebody is strangling a goat. Musically, it sounds sophisticated on the surface but it’s not really. There are three songs on this album which Dylan plays over and over, with different vocals on top. Mediocre, at best. Lyrically, it’s nothing special. At times, the lyrics make no sense. At other times the lyrics are inane and boring. Despite what gullible music fans will say, Bob Dylan is not a wordsmith. People will give this 4 or 5 stars because NME or Rolling Stone told them it’s a classic. I ask: based on what? It’s old fashioned dross which is not relevant in the 21st century, culturally or musically. It doesn’t hold up. It’s 60 years old and it shows. I was going to give this 2/5 because despite its limitations and repetitive nature, there is a semblance of musical talent (not vocal ability), but I found myself feeling annoyed and imposed upon while I listened, so I’m afraid I have to give it 1/5. I don’t want to listen to this again

When I got to “Bob Dylan’s 115th Dream” it all came together. I do not like this ramblin’ loser.

Of the 2 minutes I listened, probably the best of Dylan shit that’s been forced into our ears.

Ain't no force in this world that can make me listen to Dylan's whinings, except 1001 Albums Generator

I didn’t enjoy this album whatsoever, just not my type of thing!

1.5. What am I missing?

Fucking Dylan

IT's Bob Dylan. It's like listening to an off key siren whistle with annoying rhythm

It sure is county music.

the 60's were weird and sound bad

- sehr monoton - wiederholend - wenig melodie - bester song: mr. tambourine man - nervige mundharmonika manchmal

I can't stand Bob Dylan

BOOOO!!!!!!

Mmmh.....

I would rather dip my balls in hydrochloric acid than listen to this.

I have tried to like Bob for years, decades even, and the older I get and the more I listen to him, the worse he gets. He is NOT a good lyricist, that is the biggest lie ever told in all of music lore. He is not deep, he just says a bunch of bullshit and uses a couple of good descriptive words from time-to-time. His voice is probably the worst of anyone that has ever sold a records at this level, and I just reviewed Smashing Pumpkins for my last album (Billy Corgan is on that list but far away from Boob). Full discloser, folksy harmonica with simple guitar strummin' just does not resonated with me, but there are some exceptions - this aint one of those exceptions. But I thought after reading about this album that the rock and roll would be a good change of pace, but it is just a bad. The music is mediocre at best and topped with his awful vocals and lyrics that are so bad at points it is comical (there is not a BD record that I listen to that at some point I don't laugh out loud, his lyrics and rhymes are so bad and elementary at times). Every time I see a Bob Dylan record on this list or any other list that ranks the best of whatever, I wait for Aston Kutcher to pop out and tell me I have been Punk'd. His garbled mess of word salads that he likes to spew with some seventh grade vocab words while he tries to pretend that he sees all the ills of the world is just as pretentious as it is annoying. I think I still have 4 or 5 more Bob albums to listen to over the next 900 😮‍💨 1.2/10 115/1001

Just really can't get into it

I do not get bob dylan, I have tried but he really does nothing but make me regret owning the ability to hear

Canta fatal osea, no canta.

nothing appropiate to say about this album. couldnt even finish it.

Giving it a 1 just because it’s Dylan. He sucks. 40 studio albums could never make me like you Bob.

It's a testament to my dedication to finishing this list that I am willing to listen to more Bob Dylan after hearing Blood on the Tracks first. First verse of "On the Road Again" immediately reminded me why I hated Blood on the Tracks. "Gates of Eden" would be a good song, but Dylan just can't let go of his ridiculous method of emphasizing words with volume instead of LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE. "At dawn my LOVER comes to ME and tells me of her dreams. With no at-TEMPTS to shovel the GLIMPSE..." I get he is trying to highlight the poetic meter here and how it lines up with the music, but there are ways to do this that actually sound good. I won't bother explaining, because I had exactly the same issue with almost everything on Tracks. Just read that review.

Sounds like random singing over nice instruments. More random singing than nice instruments. 1/5

Groan...

just not my cup of tea atm

Bad, like all of Dylan's work.

not for me sorry i didn't really get it

Boring and terrible.

I just can't listen to Bob Dylan's voice. It drives me crazy. I can't get past it to listen to the content of the lyrics. I'm always grateful when someone else covers a Bob Dylan song so I can hear the quality of the song rather than the abomination that is his vocal delivery.

I feel truly sorry for anyone who thinks this man is a poet of any renown. This is the best of the 7 or so Dylan albums I’ve suffered so far. It’s still awful. Fuck you, Bob.

booooooring

Country.

Now, I'm not saying the album is terrible, but it's the second album I just couldn't go through. After 50 albums with which I was engaged, no matter what. And the previous one received a 1/5 from me. After all, what is an English poem-songwriter to a foreigner?

Nicht meins

Bob Dylan is on my list "music I should listen one day". So I am happy that I had the chance to listen to him. I really don't like it. Just not my genre.

First few songs had me thinking maybe bob finally fixed his voice and was kinda sounding decent. Then he pulled the rug out from under me and started to make noises similar to Chipotle induced diarrhea

This was the easiest to get through of the Dylan albums so far, but that might just be because we've had a particularly shit run of albums over the last week or so. Death to harmonicas

Not as bad as the other Dylan albums I’ve had so far. Still bloody awful.

I hate Bob Dylan, like, I hate him so much. His voice is so annoying, his persona is so annoying. I hated him a little bit less after the first half of the record, now I hate him even more.

Not for me. 1/5

… if this was the best Bob Dylan album, I’d hate to hear the worst.

Annoyingly yee-haw from the beginning. Any amount of mouth harmonica is too much mouth harmonica. All of these songs sound the fucking same. It's Alright Ma - Monotonous delivery, unpleasant voice, and it's fucking 7 minutes long. Wow. Glad it's over. 1/5.

Protest music? Pffff, neeext

I don’t like Bob Dylan. He is a dirty old busker with a superiority complex. I have had the displeasure of hearing this album more times than I would have liked to, and it doesn’t get any better. The only tracks I vaguely liked are ‘On the Road Again’ and ‘Mr Tamourine Man’ (to be controversial I do think The Byrds version is still 8 miles better). 1 star.

Chicken was dry and the sauce lacked depth. Manager had an attitude problem and stank of onions… won’t be returning

Common Bob Dylan L

That harmonica will haunt my dreams tonight.

I appreciate Dylan, I appreciate what he has to say, I recognize his massive influence. I hate listening to him.

This man cannot sing.

Enough with the Bob Dylan suggestions.

I never liked Dylan. People revere him, I don't. It's a character flaw, according to many of my friends. I guess he led people to do music that I like, maybe that's his talent. I find his voice obnoxiously whiny, his guitar repetitious and annoying, and his harp playing laughable, with his lyrics lost in this cacophony of music that sounds like fingernails on a blackboard to me. I played the beginning of each song to see if I still hate it like I did. Yep, no change there.

More garbage Dylan... Yuck

Please stop with Bob Dylan

Horrible whiney nasally voice.

I absolutely despise Bob Dylan. Fucking unlistenable garbage

I am sorry I can not stand his voice. Could not finish. 1/5

Bob Dylan has a voice that makes you want to tear your ears off

I. Hate. Bob. Dylan. His voice is the equivalent of a thousand screeching Yoko Onos to me. Did not listen. Not interested.

cringe, i just dont like his music, im sorry to this man

Subterranean Homesick Blues gets this up to maybe 1.5 stars. Everything else was pretty unlistenable. Reminded again I can only rarely stomach Dylan's music when it's sung by others.

Please someone explain to me why Bob Dylan is so great? I will buy that he is a good song writer, but good lord - he sounds awful and his guitar playing is just lazy chords strummed haphazardly. And the harmonica - I don't know when we as a species decided that the sounds that come from that "instrument" are somehow pleasing to the ear. That said, the only song that was moderately Ok was "Subterranean Homesick Blues" and that is only because the Red Hot Chili Peppers covered it so it was interesting to hear the original. Maybe I am not refined or smart enough to recognize the greatest of the whole Bob Dylan experience that everyone else does.

I actually listened to the whole thing. Again, not my preference.

Wow! Didn’t really like that at all. Not my style. Clever lyrically but disappointing musically, tonally and creatively.

I'm not listening to Dylan

paskaa

While I see and appreciate the influence of his work, I just didn't enjoy a single song on here. Not that they were poorly made, it's just not my style

not really my cup of tea, sounded like the backtracking to every 90's action film i've ever seen.

I hate Bob Dylan

uh too country for me ngl

I must be so jaded against Bob Dylan that I can't even tell you why I am, but the whole thing really baffles me. The music sounds awful and the lyrics are crap, no more need be said.

Synopsis: A terrible singer and mediocre songwriter performs his art project to torture everyone who hears it.

For chrissake, no. Bob Dylan is shit, and I refuse to even contemplate listening to this bilge. === 18 months later, and mopping up the stuff I'm obliged to rate - this will get a 1 on general principle.

Absolutely not.

sooooooo......fuck..... I want to get it. I want to like him. his voice isnt my favourite but I don't hate it... it's an acquired taste as we know ... but it something isn't clicking for me. I find this album incredibly boring. second half was aight. first half made me wanna claw my eyes out faveiiiess : mr tambourine man, the last one baby blue whatever least fave : 115th (too fucking long kill me ) will...I...listen....again..... I mean.... perhaps for research purposes like when I finally listen to his discography which I've been planning on doing for a long time but uh....not for FUN that's for sho

err... no. never could/can get past the nasal twang

Subterranean Homesick Blues: Digging the wavy harmonica. She belongs to me: Like the electric guitar in the back, gives depth. Maggie's farm: I'm really into the bass doing the "dum dom dum domdumdum". The word sounds are giving a lax/country "blind mealon" feel which I appreciate Love minus zero: Its good, the music doesn't vary much, but its fine, probably wouldn't skip Outlaw blues: Feels like og rock breaking away from swing. Slightly swung high hat with the the guitar strumming straight. A little nostalgic, but doesn't feel too special On the road again: If I was an instrument playing the notes the singer is singing, id be extremely bored. Lacks variety. Its feels like the highlight to these songs is the harmonica but its not enough for me to be entertained Bob Dillan 115th dream: Halfway through the song and I wouldve skipped, only half listening at this point. Basically sums up why I'm not a particular fan of most country music. I skipped it, I was gonna complain about how short most of these songs are but this one was just dragging on for me Mr.Tambourine man: This album has kinda lost my attention at this point, I feel like I'm still listening to the same song. I skipped this one Gates of eden: Skipped Its alright ma: I skipped ahead multiple time and it genuinely sounded like nothing changed. Skipped Its all over now baby blue: Its not getting better for me I started at 3 stars but the long I went the most I disliked the album. One star. Not a song on here id personally miss not hearing and altogether as an album really killed it for me. Im sure the words have value and emotion, but I cant feel the emotion in the sound of his voice. No creativity for me. Yay harmonica but I can think of other songs that just do it better for me.

Too much Dylan, y’all

I just don't like Dylan.

I understand that you like Bob Dylan but did you have to put all the fucking discography? Seriously?

Won't do the Dylan albums. Can't stand him.

ehhhhhhhhhhhh

Nope. Just no,

Not the biggest fan of Bob Dylan and his style of music and this album was no different. Felt like a sludge to get through, not for me.

I hate Bob Dylan. His voice is atonal, nasal and whiny which grates on me nerves.

Not for my. Kind of Country...lazy album zzzz

This album is bad. I still don't like Bob Dylan. I listened, and I still don't like it. Also ENOUGH about Maggie, Bob, it's freakin' creepy. Highlights: It's All Over Now, Baby Blue...Not because of the song, but it let us know this over-rated crapfest of an album is over. Lowlights: All of it.

I tried but it just sounds like a lot of wailing and just find his vocals annoying. He’s not for me.

I am not a big Bob Dylan fan. There were a couple of songs that I recognized but that does not mean I like those songs. I suffered through it. Do yourself a favor and just sit this one out.

This is disgusting. How could anyone like this? I generally enjoy old-timey folk-type music, but this man's voice is grating on my nerves. I tried listening to every song to give it a fair shot, but they all sound so similar. I did not enjoy this.

There’s something about Bon Dylan’s voice that unfortunately I just don’t like, and the harmonica/recorder just sounds like high pitched ringing

An assault on my ears. I have not, do not, and will not ever understand the appeal of Bob Dylan.

It's Dylan, so it's shit. He writes great songs, I just wish he didn't insist on singing them himself. I deserve a fucking medal for getting through this whole thing.

I don't enjoy Dylan at all, and never have. A poet, maybe, but I find his melodies uninteresting (and often near non-existent) and his nasal tone and delivery painful. Also, why is the harmonica always so high in the mix? As if his whiny vocals weren't bad enough, you then get assaulted with equally obnoxious mouth organ in almost every song. I listened to the whole thing, and hope that I never have to again.
