It's the music you would hear in the backrooms, very liminal space. If I were high, I'd enjoy this, but I'm not so it's a 1.

Dull, even a bit more so than the other electronic albums on this list I've had to suffer through. If it was going for something, which I'm not sure if it was, it didn't resonate with me.

Weird ambient electronica bullshit. I was on board for the first couple tracks, but then The Color of the Fire killed all the momentum and I was done.

Hmmm let me find a beat then repeat it 200x to make a 3 min song… really incredible they know the colour orange and can count to 10… inspiring…. my 6 year old niece could compose more complex and interesting music… absolute trash…

Heard before: yes This is at least the 5th or 6th time I've tried to get into this record. It's starting to click a little, I'm grooving with it a little more on a rainy day, but ... nope. Still kinda dull. Maybe after 4 or 5 more times through... Top tracks: Aquarius, Open The Light, Sixtyten

A concoction of moisture without musical arrangement. This was a very irritating album to try and listen to for review. Yet another example of an album that does not warrant being on 1001 albums you should hear. Absolutely woeful.

Music has the right to children but maybe not this album. Pretty meh. I've heard significantly better from other electronic albums. If you enjoy repetitive sounds and washing machine noises, this is for you.

oh my good ness. I don’t know if it’s just me or what but I could not stand this album. It was so obnoxious and repetitive and just omg. I genuinely tried to be interested but I couldn’t! It was annoying.

And then there's this. Sod off British (or any country) electronica. Apparently this was a landmark electronica album but I don't know why. It went even trippier? Softer? It inspired music in Minecraft and other video games? Boring. I found myself waiting for it to be over or not even wanting to wait for it to finish. That's borderline 1 territory. I couldn't take it by the time I got to Aquarius (or maybe that was a really annoying song...Orange! Shut up) and I started skipping to next tracks.

I’m assuming they are referring to the sound of children randomly hitting keys. Which appears to be what this is. If music was this easy we would all be making it.

What? Wtf does this album title even mean? This frigging sucks. And it's creepy. Get lost, Board of Canada, you're not representing our fine country appropriately and you're not even from here!!! This should be removed in favour of a Hip or BNL record.

I didn't like this album at all, so I don't have a favorite song.

Every song feels like it's either a rap beat or just plain boring. Awful, awful album

The album has a weird, ominous vibe that just makes you uncomfortable while you listen. It’s interesting that it’s able to create this feeling, but it doesn’t make for good music when it feels like you’re slipping into a dementia haze. Despite most songs feeling icky and weird, there are a couple tracks that feel like you’re on a cloud, mostly near the end of the album.

Pure background. Reading the critical response to this album on the Wikipedia page makes me feel like I come from another planet. A lot of this kind of music tends to come off ponderous and repetitive and this is a prime example here. Like an album whose prime directive was 'don't bother anyone'.

After the first two tracks, I felt that some research was needed to enlighten my mind... I still don't understand it. "I love you"? What does that even mean in the concordian mind of electronica?

Notes: 😳 ok… weird off the bat. If you listen to this album on a regular basis then there’s an 83% chance you’re a serial killer. This album was designed for use in Guantanamo. This album is how they brainwashed the numbers into Masons head. Really not a fan of random background noise being a focal part of all of your songs (I also hate kids singing or having lines in a song so one of them I found especially awful) Realised I don’t need to do this. Nobody’s forcing me to listen to this. I’m an adult. I can do what I want. Wow the album just gave me an epiphany - 5 stars. Jk it’s fucking awful 0 stars gave up at song 10 “Roygbiv” which actually was a nicer sounding one of the lot but I’m not subjecting myself to anything else
