Reviews (page 7 of 8)
This feels like a couple of guys went in to the studio, got REALLY baked, and 10 or 11 hours later came up with this. Sure, it was a lot of editing to bring it down to this, but I'm sure if you take 10-11 hours of that kind of noodling you could find an hour's worth that's good. Or at least listenable, maybe? Songs that have them calling out colors ("Orange!") like in 'Aquarius', and other stuff like 'Happy Cycling' was annoying. The songs that were 2 minutes long were all "What the heck was THAT?" And the songs that were over 6 minutes long were all "Why didn't this end 2 minutes ago?" It's not the worst thing I've ever heard. Maybe my weed just isn't strong enough. I don't know.
This definitely wasn’t for me. I’m not too well-versed in electronic music but I felt this was nice background music and not much else. Very minimalistic and repetitive, the songs don’t seem to evolve at all and some are way too long for how little they accomplish.
This is one of the trippiest albums I've heard here so far. Feel this album stumbled barefoot through a field of legos so Kid A from Radiohead could run. 2
I've heard this raved about, but it doesn't resonate with me. 1 - bad 2 - average 3 - good 4 - great 5 - outstanding
Well produced album but not really my thing.
Þessi náði mér ekki alveg. Það vantar eitthvað úmpf í þetta.
No idea what score to give. As sound, it's excellent. As music, it kinda sucks. It sounded nice I suppose, but just kind of became ambient background noise. It's like ambient music done so well your brain just ignores it, making it almost pointless from a music perspective. Might return for studying, but nothing musically gripping worth returning to.
I dated a guy who made music like this on his Nintendo.
Too repetitive and mundane to go anywhere, yet another peculiar choice of an album for this list.
This is a trip album If you’re making a road trip from LA to Vegas, straight across the desert, this will work You’re on a Trans Canadian rail trip, turn this on Or if you’re just tripping, put on the headphones
This is a great base layer for something more…hmmm…animated. There’s almost nothing here exciting though. Roygbiv has a little spark. And the song after it, Rue The World, is boring as fuck. Most of the album resembles Rue The World rather than Roygbiv.
I don't mind Electronica, but this ain't great
Did you know Canadian bacon is just ham? Wild.
I prefer the broads of Canada
Ambient and odd, but again started something new
Background music for the birth of the universe presentation at the planetarium. Not horrible, but like the vast expanse of outer space, there was a lot of endless nothingness here.
Completely unbearable. Found it incredibly difficult to finish. I don’t like purely instrumental music and this album is a wonderful example why. 2/5
Nope.
Not for me
I recently watched "Beyond the Black Rainbow" and "Mandy" by filmmaker Panos Cosmatos after seeing the trippy "Cabinet of Curiosities" episode, "The Viewing." They've all got a synth-heavy, late-'70s/early '80s vibe, and much of this album would fit remarkably well in any of them—so well that I was compelled to investigate whether anyone in the band was involved with those projects (they weren't). Sadly, what works for eerie, moody films doesn't work so well for general listening. There's some interesting stuff in here, especially if you want to zonk out and pretend you're back in 1980, but overall this didn't do much for me.
This put me to sleep to be honest.
Another electronica album. There's been too many already for my tastes. This one isn't completely terrible but I really could've lived without it. This is probably great for fans if the genre but I'll pass.
It's a pretty nice electronic album, but this is also not one of my favorites. I don't think I will listen to it again or anything, but I didn't hate it. Highlight: 10.
The album cover is kind of interesting....and that's the best thing I can say about this 2 stars
Not a fan of the electronica album. Didn’t dislike it, but found it to be nothing more than background music
interesting
perhaps one of the most interesting albums (so far) on this list! i definitely see how influential this album was for electronic music. it was nice, but i began listening when i felt a little sleepy--not my smartest move. there were some times where the distortion was just a little too weird? i respect the art but it was just okay in the end.
I like a concept album but I do also like lyrics
i have no idea what this is 2/5
not for me
I’m not much of a listener of ambient music but can still appreciate this on some level - the biggest issue for me was the runtime, I was just really bored by the end
bem meia boca sonzinho monótono
Kind of boring, maybe I need more time grting to know this one.
BWOAH! Olihan ihan saatanan pitkäveteinen levy. Olis kyllä kiva kuulla mitä levy-yhtiö ja artisti on aikoinaan tuosta funtsinut.
Didn't hate it. Made for fine background music, but I definitely thought it started stronger than it finished. After about 5 tracks or so it all just fades into the air, which is kinda what I want from something like this. Works for me when I'm writing to have things like this playing - enough of a beat to be heard, but nothing so distinguishing about it that it really distracts me from what I'm doing. BUT... I feel like there was potential for this to be so much more than just background music. That creepy sample of a kid saying, "I love you!" in "The Color of the Fire" is the type of thing I wish ran through the entire album. Reminds me of that album from The Avalanches in this regard. You win or lose me with your creepy, funny, weird samples. And there are never enough. Who out there has made an album that is nothing but a collage of weird samples? That's what I'm looking for on this list.
This was a bit like the album cover, a bit eerie and other worldly. It didn’t hurt my ears but I wasn’t keen. 2*
Over an hour worth of beats and electronic music. The real surprise is that I did not skip any songs.
Vocals sound like subliminal messages
Yeah, that's a no for me dawg.
That was...ambient. necessary? Nah.
It sounds like music that's in the background of an art exhibition.
melatonin waiting room mildly gritty low energy indie electronica. the sound of sleepily looking at a grimy aquarium while idly picking at sand in your shoes.
Bit too ambient for my tastes. Kind of dull
A load of beeps and boops.
Seemed a bit bland?
Its lofi which is cool but really blended into the background for me at the beginning
Ambient electronica. I think I recognized one of the songs from a soundtrack or something. The rest is not worth mentioning or thinking about again. Best track: Roygbiv
1.5
2/5 nope
Aquarius was okay. Rest of the album was pretty boring filler music.
Children have the right to avoid this album.
Ambient electronics....of its time
Not bad but not my kind of music. Too much ambience and nonsense.
Kann ich fast nichts mit anfangen. Viel überflüssiges Elektro-Geplänkel. Gähn. Außerdem VIEL zu lang. 2. Hälfte hat mir insgesamt besser gefallen. Keine 3 Sterne.
I like electronic music, but this was tough to listen to.
It's fine, just not really my thing. I know EDM/IDM takes a certain production talent and it's certainly not bad music, it just isn't something I would listen to recreationally. It makes for great computer work/study music, but it goes on for far too long and the loops hardly do anything interesting. It's much more of a situation vibe/atmospheric record which is something I can appreciate. I will say that the back half of the album, starting at Bocuma, is the most interesting. The first half did little to entice me. Favorite Song: Roygbiv Least Favorite: The Color of the Fire
Really don’t care for electronica.
This is different - ambient electronica. Listened to most of it, but didn't take any account of track boundaries or anything like that. Quite like it, but doesn't do that much for me either. Sometimes a bit like beepy-easy-listening.
Interesting sound. Their ephemeral coloring is pretty recognizable, and it’s not unpleasant to listen to. Personally, I don’t find it very pleasant either.
Sort of went by without me really noticing.
Never heard of Boards of Canada before, this was interesting but not my favourite. Preferred the songs with no words.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, and it went up in my estimations once I learnt it came out in 1998. But some of the smaller 'interlude' type songs spoiled it a bit for me and hampered my enjoyment
I thought the first track was relatively promising, a genre unlike anything we’ve tackled so far. Relatively ambient, soothing. Though as the thing progressed I wondered what place this music has in the world. Strangely clubby but too slow for the club. The naffo electric snares did it for me. I’ll go elsewhere for my ambience thank you. And that elsewhere is the kingdom of Japan where their single greatest export is AMBIENCE.
I actually don’t hate this. I go through phases of liking some electronic music with no words, and I give myself niche-music knowledge credentials by actually having heard of them thanks to their remix of a Clouddead song. The question remains though - why is this on this list? What does it add? Who listens to it? Who has it influenced (apart from a series of even more niche Scottish electronic music artists, creating ever more minimalist tracks until the sound is distilled to 564 tracks of the same single blip)? Why?
I was honestly under the impression I thought Boards of Canada were really good but this was fairly tedious.
Weird...
I tried to get into it but not my style. I could have it on the background while working for a bit but some tracks made their self known too much
Bit boring,

Rather dull electronica
It's ok, but basically just sounds like background or new age music. 2 stars.
Não guentei terminar
It 's ok but not exactly my kind of electronic. Not enough lofi hiphop vibes.
a bit of a spooky, eerie, and melodic electronic ambient music. Has a few good songs, but just come off as weird and eerie for the most part
Was familiar with this already, Rob really likes them. Super chill and ambient. Would most likely put me in a trance if I was driving but fine for work.
I like the ambient stuff and some of the synth / moog sounds are dope... there’s a Pete Rock type joint that I liked... but overall this album was hellla slow and honestly I got kinda bored of it.
Ok whatever, background only for me.
Pretty shitty. Repetitive chill/electro.
Rubbish
p839. 1998. 1 star. Tedious, meandering and pointless 90s electronic noise that sounds like the rejected background music for a failed computer game. This is dreadful stuff. WTF is this doing on the list?
Ambient is ambient. There's a bit of scratching going on but really the answer to this always is Brian Eno. Although I've realised that the second track is a maker or breaker with records, the second track here was a horror story.
DNF
I'm relieved that this band is not Canadian. I was dismayed that the country that gave us Joni Mitchell and Neil Young would also give us this drivel.
Weird but not in an enjoyable way, just kinda boring weird.
I don’t mind a bit of electro, and ambient music has its place. However… this appears to be ambient electro but written in the most annoying way possible. Repetitive, irritating samples. Out of time and off kilter beats. I don’t get the appeal at all. This was not a relaxing commute.
How in the world is this on this list.
What even is this. Sounds like the soundtrack to a psychological horror film. And what does that title even mean?
I just can't phantom under what circumstances someone would want to listen to this. Not suitable for the car, the gym, a party, or listening alone at home. Maybe serviceable as background noise while studying or performing chores.
What the hell is this album doing on this list? It ain't just Canada that's board! Utter drivel. It's like the big bang theory cast got keyboards from Argos during lock down and this is what they came up with.
Repetitive, weird and boring. A bad album.
More like Bored of Canada. This repetitive go-nowhere music did nothing for me.
No, this just feels lazy and pretentious and didn’t need to be recorded. I don’t understand why anybody would sit down and listen to this unless they were dead already.
Just not my type of music, I tried but there’s just nothing here that particularly interested me. I thought Roygbqpgv was going to be alright when it started but it just sort of fizzled into nothing 1.5
Tedious
Boards or bored? Didn't like this at all. Nothing different or exciting.
Noise pollution
This is one of the most disturbing albums I’ve ever listened to. It sounds what I imagine a bad acid trip would feel like.
Boring music combined with pretentious titles. This is what AI generated music aspires to move away from
Like actually in what world did I have to hear this album? Is this a joke?
More electronic. Yay. This list heavely favors European bullshit and dance/electronic music. As you can tell I have low expectations. First sign is not really a song it’s just sounds. A eagle is a Classic 6 minute electronic song that’s about 3 mins too long. The color of fire sucks. Better production on telephasic, but it has the classic bullshit vocals for no reason at all. Also 2 mins too long again. Triangles and rhombuses wasnt bad. Maybe the beta so far. Pretty normal. Just not a good or necessary sample on sixtyten. Again 2 mins too long. This is another album where it sounds like it was made by a 7th grader who was introduced to Apple Music for the first time. At best this album was getting a 2.5 because it missing half of what make a perfect album right of the bat (singing). But the production is nowhere near perfect so it ain’t getting a 2.5 either. Extremly simple beats. Bad samples/vocals. I don’t understand how this album made this list. Not even halfway over and I’m ready to quit. The best songs are the one minuters. Bocuma is very relaxing. Nothing more to say abt that. Actually really like the production on roygbiv. Hate the vocals. Just no reason to add that. I actually don’t mind rue the whirl as well. Another one that is twice as long as it needs to be but good beat. Back to bullshit with Aquarius. Classic song for this album, way longer than it needs to be and bullshit vocals/samples. Why are the beta songs 1 minute long. And after hearing what feels like the exact same song for the 6th time I’m all set with this album. Maybe it’s good if you like electronic. To me it was very unimpressive, lacked uniqueness from song to song, and left me feeling like I wasted so much time. Don’t waste your time, there’s no way in hell this is a top 1000 album of all time. .7/5.
Not to be shallow right but I think this is dogshit.
Saved? ❌ Would listen again? 🤔 Would recommend to anyone? ❌ Would buy on Vinyl? ❌
idk, groundbreaking at the time - a bit of a struggle, a few classics. kinda stale.
Make every track 50% shorter and it might get a two.
Repetitive, boring and long. That was a tough slog.
This is just noise.
Really shite noise, icl it all sounded the same. Background music at its worst
Boring
If nothing else, this list has confirmed that I do not care for electronic music.
For a list of albums I need to hear before I die there sure are a lot of albums I never want to hear again. This was such a nothing burger, just generic beats and samples.
This one was definitely not for me I'm afraid
Unlistenable noises. Not music
This was rough. Did not find anything redeeming about it and I turned it off. 1.
not my flavor, too simpliste, lack of composition
Absolutely terrible. A very quick descent into madness, and not in a chaotic way but in the way you always feared when you were a kid where you realize you have been walking on quicksand and it's already over but you have to live through the agonizing fear and eventually painful but relieving death.
This album was NOT good at all. It low key gave me the creeps at times. There was nothing redeemable here. The songs/album just went ON and ON.... Liked Songs: If I HAVE to pick..."Sixtyten" , "Roygbiv" , "Rue The Whirl" , "Pete Standing Alone" , "Open The Light"
Echt jetzt? Das kann man doch nicht durchhören. Einfach nur langweiliges Gedudel!
& what’s up with that?
Elektronische psychedelische hiphop beat patterns. Minder mijn ding.
Ugh electronica
Shite
h-oh. This “band” plays electronic music. I’ve had a very love/hate, more hate/hate with electronic music on the 1,001 Albums list. This album came out in 1998, and I’d never heard of them. I’m already unimpressed at Track 2, An Eagle In Your Mind. It’s just a lot of scratches and some distant bass drones with someone seemingly scatting in the background. Not off to a great start. Maybe I’ll just re-listen to Todd Rundgren's Something/Anything? again. Okay, after five minutes, we have something resembling music coming in for the last minute of track 2. Ugh. This is going to be a long listen. Track 3, The Color of Fire, as far as I could tell, wasn’t even a song. It was very quiet, and in around a minute and a half, it went completely quiet. Then, what sounded like something that would be played on PBS over David Attenborough describing a sea sponge, played. I’d chalk this listening experience up to being old, but I would have hated this junk as a kid. Track 4, Telephasic Workshop, is just the same rhythm and sample repeated infinitely. I don’t get electronic music without a groove. This is what Devo tried to be, robotic music. Daft Punk were literally robots, and they made great Robot Rock. Just noise with no groove or rhythm made by robots for robots. Track 6, Sixtyten, is just more of the same. I think I already know how this is going to go. They aren’t going to turn into Daft Punk at any point. God bless these two dudes if they could make a living from this music. I just wish I were smart enough, or dumb enough, to have done something like this or have become a YouTube creator. It’s funny. It seems these “songs” don’t have enough music to last the whole track, so they end with about a minute to go, and then something that sounds more like a song begins playing for about 30 seconds. It’s like they only have the aptitude to write 30-second songs, so to make up for it, they craft 3-minute sounds to introduce the song. Brilliant.....I'm being very sarcastic with the brilliant. Track 7, Turquoise Hexagon Sun, sounds like a song, the first on the album. If it had some female vocals over the top, I think you could legitimately call it a song. It took them six tries, but it seems maybe they’re catching on. However, constant chatter from a party is bleeding over into the track. I know it’s on purpose, but it just points out that this music is meant to be background music at a party and should not be turned up enough for people to actually hear it. This music should not interrupt much more interesting conversations about the weather or sports. Track 8, Kaini Industries, sounded interesting for about 45 seconds of its run time. Why are the more interesting pieces of music just seconds long? How is this thing over an hour long? Each song is like 3 minutes…Oh, there are 18 songs. This shouldn’t be counted as a double album, as it doesn’t have enough material for an EP. Wait…What’s this? Track 10, Roygbiv, is actually…..Yes, I think it’s an actual song. Is that a piano? Finally, a decent song. I like this. It’s not much of a song, but it’s song-like. Track 11, Rue the Whirl, sounds like it’s trying to be a song, but it seems stuck in first gear. I can’t take 6 minutes of this. I’ve figured it out. These beats would be much better if the Wu-Tang Clan were rapping over them. This track especially sounds like something the RZA would have crafted in the lab. Though the RZA is a much better songcrafter. After about 4 and a half minutes of the same thing over and over again, they turn the sound into a song for the last minute. I just don’t understand what these dudes are trying to do. Track 12, Aquarius, is a nice little groove. Finally, a groove. Too little, too late for me. I’ve already checked out. Track 13, Olson, has been the first track to make me feel anything. And just like that, the song’s over, the feeling has gone. Track 14, Pete Stands Alone, has some sort of velcro patch ripping over and over. It’s not good. This song makes me feel something too, rage. I think I’m done. I don’t understand how someone can listen to this and find it enjoyable. It’s the equivalent of sitting in a white room under fluorescent lights for 8 hours. That’s the feeling I get. This is not a must-hear. In fact, I wish I hadn’t heard it. Listen to your favorite record instead.
I wanted to like this, but once I got to the song with the counting, there was no way this would get any rating besides a 1.
More like Boreds of Canada
interessant
bro what the hell
2/10 - Favorite song: Olson
Dull
I don’t get this or what it’s trying to do. It’s not something I would ever access again for any purpose.
Turned it off after about 45 minutes. What a slog
I thought this was gonna be some cool 70s psych rock based on the cover. It was neither; just a little 90s electronica which was fairly lame.
Absolutely not, couldn’t even bare to finish it
This was a slog of beeps and boops. There were some pleasant moments, but I just couldn’t get into it. I like mellow electronica… or maybe I don’t.
Boring.
Not my thing at all. There are some decent melodies here and there, but really every song felt empty for me; the tracks are definitely not enough to entertain me for the album’s 71-minute runtime. Again, it’s really just not my thing.
Skimmed the wikipedia and surprised this is so beloved. It was boring as heck

Niks voor mij
Synthesized rubbish.
A bunch of boring noise. When I listen to music, this is not what I want to hear.
I think I remember liking Boards of Canada but I don't recognize any of their albums. Not sure who I thought this band was but they suck. I mean I guess they are chill but definitely not for me. Couldn't finish, got about a third of the way through and had to bounce.
I do not know if they have talent because of the repetition. Musical talent is be able to/ fluent in either and instrument or song. Hitting the same button for a sample is not talent. If I were to walk in some big city and ask someone if they can hit a button to start a sample, they would say I can do that which displays that anyone can do it meaning THEY HAVE NO TALENT. To quote Willy Wonka, “you loose, good day sir” except they are so bad I would not even say sir. Not that difficult to give it the rating I have.
This sucked. Slow, boring, repetitive, creepy in spots, bloated and uber long. Who cares that this exists?
Interesting. Just not my vibe
# Album Name: Music Has The Right To Children # Artist: BoC # Rating: 1/5 # Comments: Terrible. Maybe good for those who are looking for samples. But this done absolutely nothing for me. # Top Tunes: # Would I listen to it again? no
This is empty noise, and it’s an hour long, no real emotional return for me, it’s meh.
Not for me found it boring
I hate this. It certainly isn't for me and I hope I never meet the person it is for. This challenged my commitment to the entire project.
Oh, REAL shit.
Not my taste at all
1.28
Weird. It says music in the title but no actual music on the album.
Not this music
Lullaby techno. Not a fan, but it’s ok as background music
Yuck so glad I wasn’t high when listening
Ambient electronic music that to me sounded like a collection of rhythms. I don't hate it but I found it very difficult to get through the whole album. I'm not sure what mood or situation would be appropriate to listen to this because it's too lively for background music but not interesting enough to focus on.
I don't like beige wallpaper. I was going to give it a 2 because it's not offensively bad (i.e. it is an OK soundscape). But then, give me a poor album that at least triggers an emotion, rather than something that does exactly nothing to me. No idea why this is on the list, could just as well have been AI generated elevator music.
1001 repitions of the same three notes
Utrolig sære greier. Orket ikke høre alt. Mest støy
I found the whole album boring and non-descript. I’m at a loss under what circumstances you would listen to this. It’s neither danceable or ambient. Instead it lies somewhere in-between in some weird zombie state. Even as background Muzak I would find it annoying rather than relaxing or motivating. 1/5 24/10/25
A very specific taste of music, unfortunately not mine, very video game type songs
i know i use the word "repetitive" a lot but there's really no other word for these types of albums..................... except for this one was cultish! that second song was so creepy - zero stars
bing bong.
Someone wake me up for this foggy melancholy sound
THIS ALBUM MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I'M BEING HUNTED FOR SPORT
Straight ass. 1 Star.
Well so... What's the point? This feels repetitive, and in a very bad way. Most of the songs feel endless, and they are all the time the same, with basic beats and uninteresting synths. The only song I liked a bit (and I wouldn't say it's good) is "Aquarius" but, well, the songs that follow are just... Some are not that bad but, the album, as an overall, is something I would never listen to again. Honestly, this atmospheric thing is not for me.
Never heard of this group before. Interesting, chilled out ambient but a bit too background music for me. Repetitive nature (tempo and instrumentation) started to drag after a while. Recognised Rue the Whirl from the TV show Spaced!
This doesn’t belong on this list. Nothing wrong with the album, but it’s just basic beats, and nothing remarkable in any way
Why was this on the list? Just noise, that does not qualify as ambient.
Not for me. 1/5
Zuhause, Heidenheim, Deutschland. Was ein Bullshit.
Not for me
So tired of these electronic albums. They just so long and so repetitive.
Might be one of the worst albums I’ve ever listen to.. half of. Couldn’t do it.
I completely forgot I was listening to this and now a day later I can't remember what I thought about it and I'm too tired to go back
Really long, boring, and tedious
I'd rather listen to this after I'm dead.
Terribly boring
I fucking hate this. Like rage-inducing hatred.
Sounds like a half baked rap album without lyrics.
Offensive to music. 🗑
Video game music.
I dislike electronic music. But at least with EDM there is usually a driving beat and peaks. This album serves no point that I can discern.
The Boreds of Canada board me to death.
How on earth did this album make the list? It's bland, uninteresting, and drearily monotonous. Maybe you need to be on drugs to enjoy it, but today you'd just ask AI to produce something as boring as this.
Did not like it at all
Well this may just be the worst thing I’ve listened to.
I could only listen to a few seconds as I randomly forwarded through each “song”. Maybe background sound effects for some video game.
Awful on every front. Where's the zero star option?
This felt like spa music crossed with one of those YouTube lofi study beats playlists. I really struggled to get through it.
So aggressively boring
What the
< the Beatles Continues the trend of British electronic duos being pretty shit
I thought I was on hold on the phone
Promising start, as in, "This promises to be an immensely dull piece of music (is it music? ) that will involve lots of skipping and a 1 star review. " This is even less appealing than a load of other ambient shit we've been forced to listen to. I have a philosophical hatred of edm as it isn't music that you listen to, it's either background music or being stoned music. No message, it doesn't take you on a journey, it's too dull to dredge up any emotion, just a travesty.
Yet another electronic album. Sounded better than some but still ruined it with endless drum loops
I work in a school. And now a days everyone has “lowfi trip hop chill” YouTube playing in their classroom everyday. I hate it, that all stems from albums like this.
Incredibly unsettling and not in a fun way
This might've been the first electronic album I've heard where just about every track was slower than elevator music. In fact, I think I would've rather listened to elevator music.
This album tries my patience every turn after repetitive turn. I get the building a landscape thing, but it just kinda lumbers there and goes nowhere. Two songs I can be in the same room with were "roygbiv" which finally found a groove I can jive with and "Open The Light" which at least had more of spacey instumental quality to it. Maybe it was the lack of an overly repeatative drum loop. And both of those were late the album. But most of it felt like a loopy, bloopy, and sound sample mess to me. Orange. 2.5/10★ If this *Music Has the Right to Children*, I'm calling Child Protective Service... NOW!
Noise
Background music, not my cup of tea, some songs take over 4 minutes to build up, I'm starting to learn that I really hate early electronic and ambient type songs/albums. Album seems to have a cult like following with the counting memes and O R A N G E comments on yt music.
Day463 - ok who snuck this turd on the list?
Awful.
They say it takes a couple listens...call me impatient.
So boring....
1,5
When I first started listening I thought this was going to be bad, and I had already set my mind on giving it only 2 stars. Now I’m nearing the end I realise it’s worse than that. Its terrible.
This music wasn’t made for me and does nothing for me besides wanting to turn it off. It’s chill, it’s relaxed, it’s ambient, it’s low key. It’s also pretty boring. Maybe if I was spelunking would I find this a good soundtrack.
If this is considered music, keep it away from the children.
My reaction to this is like women’s reaction to me. “Sorry, but no” 💔
verrrry different sound compared to the others. no words, a little too stressful for an instrumental vibe, for me
Apart from people getting stoned after a rave WHO ACTUALLY LISTENS TO THIS. it's utter utter rubbish. One star is generous

I tried. I really did. I’ve never heard of this band before and I was willing to give it a go but after four tries at various places in the album, at various times of the day I just can’t get on with it. I even tried to like the song roygbiv because obviously it’s a song about rainbows but flipping heck, driven to boredom.
Pre-listening thoughts: why is there so much crappy 90s electronica on this list. Why not anything else please god. Post/during listening thoughts: I sort of feel like someone is about to kidnap me or something? I feel like I’m in danger. There is something very unsettling about the atmosphere of a lot of this. 2/10 DID I NEED TO HEAR THIS BEFORE I DIE: hell no Fav tracks: roygbiv Least fav tracks: literally everything else
More craptronica - could only get thru a few seconds of each song.
Sounds like the soundtrack of a dystopian indie game. And that’s the only situation I’d say it’s justifiable, couldn’t listen to this normally
Nope

Worst part of Radiohead?
Nothing redeeming about this album.
Non.
not my thing
Shitty music for hipsters.
this reminds me of like, hound of the baskervilles. like, reading it now is underwhelming because it's so basic and riddled with cliches, but that's because it was effectively creating a genre. I'm sure this album was interesting in 1998 but iit's really, really not in 2025.
Who made this list?
Just awful.
Feels like I'm on hold for an hour trying to make an appointment with a secret agent
Why???
What's the point? When would you ever listen to this? Fancy lift music at best. It's so inert I didn't even get annoyed by it. The ultimate background music.
roygbiv was the only song with hair on it's chest
perfectly replicates the feeling you get while waiting for the "skip" button to pop up on a youtube ad
At its best, this is background music.
This felt very long. Especially as it sounds like they set the machines going and left the studio to do some shopping for a lot of the tracks. And how does it take two of them to do this? I love a good hypnotic loop, but this felt soul-less. I could see this working as some kind of late-night sleep aid perhaps, but on a Friday morning whilst working, I was already bored of the Boards by about track 3.
These songs bore me. Electronica/Trip Hop is not my thing. But the music of Moby or Fatboy Slim is interesting. This is not. Might work as a soundtrack to a low-budget sci-fi movie. Hard to get through it without moving pictures though. Definitely not an album I needed to hear before I die.
Never heard of this band, no idea what to expect, seems like it's atmospheric electronic music? Yeah, very repetitive atmospheric electronic music, very much not for me.
Some things are just not worth listening to My only sadness is that it took me three tracks to realise
Just more electronica nonsense. There's nothing appealing about this. 1/10.
Can’t believe I used to like this album. Such pretentious noodling
Not mi kind de disco
Kruder & Dorfmeister tastes much better. too little white substances available ;-)
I got through about 5 songs and gave up. This isn’t music. Terrible. 1
Gross. 4th day in a row we get basically the same album.
1 stars are so back
71 minutes which felt more like 71 days
Not my thing
I'm really not into all the counting, crying, and moaning in the background of the songs here. I absolutely cannot finish this one, I'm sorry to all the fans of this shit.
Like playing a low stakes video game
Hate this style of electronica
No
Booooring
Electronic music, even one that has more chill vibes than other albums, is just not for me. I gave the first few songs a listen to give it a chance, but I dnf.
I got nuthin, pass.
Pretty lame. Kind of dreamy kind of moody competently assembled. Im willing to be harsh, it's a no from me.
This is completely unappealing to me, so just don’t see it
Langweilig
As a dear friend described this album to me: Terrible and vaguely unsettling. At least it's 71 MINUTES LONG. Couldn't wait for this to be over.
This album has the same vibe as that really weird sims DS game. I don’t like that vibe for my songs why did I have to hear this album
Too many creepy kids voices
Too sober for this
I really really really don't like this. It's like it is in eternal waiting mode and nothing happens but you're still stuck waiting and hanging around.
W T actual F. Had to pause this and look at the Wiki to see if it was some sort of joke. Sounds like the sound track to every low budget 90s sci-fi movie.
Like a horror movie soundtrack
Not for me on this day.
The sound of robots procreating.
Now I know why the faces are not seen...
Super boring
Tava totalmente enganada.
gibberish
Forest for the Trees did it better
Useless background music.
Not my thing
not good
Music Has the Right to Children presents itself as a monotonous soundscape devoid of vitality, failing to captivate listeners with its lacklustre melodies and repetitive rhythms. The album's sombre tone and droning ambiance contribute to a sense of tedium rather than evoking any sense of emotion or excitement. While some may appreciate its minimalist approach, for many, it feels like a missed opportunity for creativity and engagement. Surprisingly, given Scotland's rich musical heritage, this album stands out as one of the few disappointments in the Scottish alternative music scene. NUMBER OF BANGERS - 0 STAND OUT TRACKS - None
Just dumb. Toss this whole genre on the funeral pyre already.
Music Has The Right To Make Me Feel or Think Something. This album didn’t. Esto va pa ti vencent, how is this shit “increíble”, sentía que estaba perdiendo mi sanidad con cada canción que pasaba, era un endless void of synths, acoustics and some fucking samples from Sesame St. Peor álbum que he tenido el disgusto de escuchar.
I do not like electronica, and this is everything I hate about it. Formless, shapeless, chronically repetitive. Like someone dropped a paperweight on a computer.
