Reviews (page 3 of 13)

I have a pre-existing bias heavily in favor of this album. I'm not going to fight the bias. 5/5 kickass Queen album, will absolutely keep listening to

Another great album. So many tracks I've been a fan of for years. The guitar solo on Brighton Rock, the classic Killer Queen. And all the rest. Highlights: Brighton Rock Killer Queen Now I'm Here Stone Cold Crazy

класека

Such an innovative group.

It's queen! Of course it's great 🤗 even discovered a few new ones on this one. We Stan 😎✌️

i looove Queen so muchhhhh!!!!! one of their best albums imo, Brian May really popped off on this one. I dont have much to say i think, other than ive heard this album oh so many times and it still rocks.

queen is peak

I mean, that's Queen

One of my favorite albums. Every song is 10/10

Underrated Queen album, IMO. Brighton Rock is a banger!

old queen is still good queen. you can tell they are beginning to find their voice, but have not fully committed it. As a queen album 3/5, but as an album that I really enjoyed it goes as an easy 5 for this.

I actually never listened to this entire album in the seventies, but now I wish I had. 5 stars or A-.

Their first epic lp

Fantastic album, the best I’ve listened to on this list so far

I think this album is a great example of how Queen's greatness is in their total sound. Yes, no doubt Freddie is the superstar, but there's no denying the band is quality, in their respective instruments and contributions, but also in their support. Those harmonies are exceptional. They're like Jordan and the Bulls. They all made each other better. Seeing them live in this era seems like it would have been amazing. 4.5

Glam-rock perfection "my new purple shoes been amazing the people next door"

Great Album!! I did not know that Queen did the original Stone Cold Crazy....I knew all the others were covers, but I thought the original was some obscure band. Dear Friends is a sweet little diddy written by Brian May. Tenement Funster is a great understated come down from the perfectly light and breezy Killer Queen. Flick of the Wrist and Lilly of the Valley carry the middle of the album to it's ultimate and satisfying conclusion. I really enjoyed this album from front to back.

Only a few bands can write the worst songs of all time and still make me love them

Killer Queen album and it sounds like it

Not the most amazing stuff from Queen, but it's hard to deny just how good Freddie Mercury and crew are. They have such a cool, rich sound to them. I do feel like overall, the composition of the album was a tad bit all over. 'Now I'm Here' wins my fave. 'Killer Queen' gets a shoutout.

Queen are the best

First ‘stone cold’ classic Queen album. A couple of killer singles with Killer Queen and Now I’m Here plus a general flurry of poppy, rocktastic awesomeness with slight tiddlings of opera and music hall as well. Brighton Rock, In The Lap Of The Gods, Stone Cold Crazy all strong, super fun highlights but I especially dig the swoonier, soul-stirring slower-paced Stormtrooper In Stilettos towards the end courtesy of soul king and badger saviour Brian May.

Vocals are layered quite interestingly- Flitting along the bass lines and rounding them off. The crooning is very characteristic and despite its age, the instrumentals offered unique ideas.

I know Queen is celebrated for their epics and anthems, but my god could these guys rock! Also the variety of this puts most bands to shame.

Из этого альбома известная мне песня это Killer Queen - разъёб всех разъебов. Добавила себе lily of the vailey посмотрим приживется ли. Крутой альбом, его нужно переслушать, но не отвечаю за то, что он будет слушаться мною часто

I just listened to my first Queen album (Queen II) about 15 albums ago, and I was blown away and have been blown away again. This project might turn me into a massive Queen fan. What a group of incredible musicians. I can't get enough of their harmonies and layering. I want to highlight one song - Dear Friends. It's New Year's Eve, and what a perfect song for saying goodbye to the past year while looking toward the next one. I had to listen to it twice before moving on. Everything about this album is stunning.

love it

So many great songs on this album. I appreciate how the whole thing flows continually as well. There's a some silliness here and there, but mostly its a solid theatrical classic rock album.

Heavy grabs you and doesn’t let go, good stuff

Grew up with this album! And Freddy Mercurys voice is better than ever on this one

Stone Cold Crazy is Queen’s best damn song

A school friend made a cassette copy of Queen's Greatest Hits for me (with a couple of Black Sabbath tracks on the end to fill up the tape), which I played a lot during my teenage years. It is a terrific listen, but I couldn't afford to buy a lot of albums, so I didn't start collecting Queen albums until I started working in a record store and picking up second hand copies of their albums. I was introduced to Sheer Heart Attack by Andrew N. Andrew was a punk rock optometrist who was dating my friend Kate. He was pretty big on Husker Du and Fugazi and that kind of stuff, but wasn't dogmatic in his approach. He also had alive for some pretty cheesy 70s rock. The love of both 70s classic rock and punk rock became fashionable a few years later with grunge, and Andrew was fashion forward anticipating the aesthetic. He had a short-lived band that played a gig or two at the Sandringham Hotel in Newtown, and I remember him leading the whole bar in a singalong to Cheap Trick's Surrender. Awesome! And he loved Sheer Heart Attack. I only knew Killer Queen (from the aforementioned Greatest Hits), but Andrew extolled the virtues of this as Queen's most straight ahead hard rock album. The songs are shorter, heavier, less ornately arranged than most of their records, and it rocks hard. It still has the Queen features (lots of guitar and vocals overdubs), but the circumstances of its recording meant they didn't have time for prog-like suites with multiple sections. The lyrics are bit more straightforward and less fantasy based (even if still occasionally fantastical). And did I mention that it rocks hard? It has a bunch of their heaviest songs (Brighton Rock, Stone Cold Crazy, Flick of the Wrist, Tenement Funster). In fact, the novelty aberration of Leroy Brown aside, this is as close to a meat-and-potatos hard rock album that they would ever produce. Under Andrew's influence, I purchased a copy (second hand) and played it a tonne. It is still my favourite Queen album to play all the way through. Five stars, no notes. An aside re: Metallica's version of Stone Cold Crazy, which is almost a note-for-note copy, with a few "fucks" added for added spice. It doesn't surprise me that, of all the songs from the Elektra back catalogue, this is the song that Metallica would choose to cover for the label's 40th anniversary. People talk about James Hetfield's 'right hand of doom', his powerful and heavy rhythm playing. But you can hear how similar it is to Brian May's rhythm playing, which is not mentioned as much as his rightly praised fluid and harmonically rich lead playing. May has a strongly rhythmic metal rhythm style that you can hear across this whole record. Hetfield has plenty of other influences (cf. the whole New Wave of British Heavy Metal), but I'll bet anything that he was familiar with Queen as well.

Absolutely insane start for the album which lead to a killer single. As loved and good as they are they still dont get enough credit. This is their second best album in mu opinion whocj would be anyone elses best.

Only two tracks on here didn’t get added to my library. Excellent album to just hit play and listen!

Really great rock album, and ahead of its time. I think later bands in the late 70's, early 80's bit this style. I can hear some Van Halen and a bit of Motley Crue in some of this, but then they slow it down with the ballad, Dear Friends. Then, out of the blue, they give you Bring Back That Leroy Brown. Great range here. Obviously, one of the best rock singers of all time. Based on the range and perfect execution, this album is an easy 5 for me.

queen. no fancy intros. everyone and their grandmother knows about how legendary this rock band is, and this painstakingly precise and theatrical rock album will blow your mind and speakers. there's just nobody on this planet that can write catchy melodies and riffs such as these.

very cool, most wonderful transitions. favs: killer queen, flick of the wrist, in the lap of the gods, misfire

Such a great album. Queen seems to be one of those bands that emerged at the same time as all the Rock and Roll greats but managed to stand out and be distinct. This album highlights their unique greatness perfectly.

I really liked this album. 5/5

I love this album. This is where the Queen formula — for lack of a better word — really comes into its own. All the elements... fantasy, careening guitars, exceptional vocals, vaudevillian escapes, pop sensibility, massive hooks, great tunes, the sheer grand scale of it all... come into play. Plus, the bonus tidbit of the title track showing up three albums later on News Of The World. I love it! Play it loud!

I love this album I love this album I love this album I love this album queen <3333 Killer Queen and in the lap of the gods revisited are my favorites from it

I mean it's queen! Great album, great songs

Two words: Brian May. I’ll be honest, I’ve always been a hits guy when it comes to Queen. Their more popular albums never really did it for me beyond the hits, so I never explored further. But I should have, because this is awesome. I’ve been missing out.

Coming into this album, I knew Killer Queen and Now I'm here. Both of those are fantastic, but I was equally impressed by the rest of the album. One thing queen does really well is showcase the talents of all of them. While Freddie is electric and shines the brightest, this album, and queen in general, do not work without Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacan being the quality of musicians that they are. In a Beatles-esque sense, the band works because everyone works together, and by all accounts they actually liked each other. While Freddie's time was cut short, it can't be denied that queen was a force in their day and albums like this are a big reason why. Even trying to be nit picky, I am struggling to find something in this album to criticize it for. I will be back for more.

Sheer Heart Attack is one of the Queen albums I've listened to the least and I don't know exactly why. I believe it was due to the lack of big hits like the subsequent albums, my teenage head didn't have the patience for the band's first 3 albums. Today I realize that it was a huge mistake. I was recently revisiting Queen's discography, which I hadn't listened to in a while. I felt I needed to do this because Queen was the first Rock band I ever heard when I was 10 years old, so I felt I needed this moment of nostalgia with myself. In fact, Sheer Heart Attack is the best of the first 3 albums. It counts Killer Queen and Brighton Rock as its main hits and I think the main characteristic that can be noted here is precisely the factor that makes Queen a different band from the others: Freddie Mercury, obviously. Without Freddie, Queen is an excellent hard rock band. With Freddie, Queen is one of the biggest and most spectacular bands of all time. That said, the main sound characteristic of this album is precisely this contrast between the heavy sound of an excellent Hard rock band, with the fierce and imposing subtlety of Freddie Mercury's voice. Anyway, Queen between 1974 and 1986 (with the exception of Flash Gordon and Hot Space) have my automatic 5 stars!

Great classic rock and I appreciated not having the usual Queen songs. Fresh album

Queen is the best. This one is not as well known but still amazing.

Powerful album from the Queen. Enjoyed it!

I love it. having a three song medley of Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist and Lily Of The Valley for me at least is unheard of so I got kinda excited at hearing it they understood the assignment by letting THE Brian May do a guitar solo in basically every song I have heard many people in the past talk about how Queen is more of a 'singles' band as opposed to an album band, but I don't believe this should be categorised in that. weakest song probably She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stilettos) which seems to be reflected in the Spotify listens too but I still enjoyed it Freddie Mercury still imo the best voice of all time

Rock gods.

Classic group. Classic songs. A group that will last the ages. Songs today are as good as the day they were written.

Amazing. They sound like they were still figuring out their craft while showing us the future. Virtuosic playing by everyone in the band. What was to come from Queen is the only thing holding me back from 5 stars.

Great album, really enjoyed the deep cuts.

Wow, some untouched gold! Albums like this are exactly why I signed up for the album generator. Awesome. Killer guitar solo's and rhythm playing. Singing off the charts, not just from Freddie. Great hearing things that aren't snapped to a grid on pro tools and zero pitch correction. So organic it's beautiful.

Really enjoyed this queen truly are amazing

I love Queen

Fantastic - enough said

The album Sheer Heart Attack is a sonic tapestry of Queen's musical prowess, a masterpiece that transcends mere entertainment and elevates the listener to a higher plane of auditory consciousness.

Wanted to deduct a point for the track "Sheer Heart Attack" actually appearing on News of the World, but I couldn't.

This album is great

undisputable

one of the most iconic albums of all time

Absolutely fantastic, by far some of Queen's best work (and they have some good work). There were no songs that I disliked on this album, and many that I loved.

Creative, diverse and well-executed. Not boring at all! 4.5

Just magnificent! Heavy, glam, incredibly varied, OTT, full of riffs, fun, complex, multilayered. They threw everything at this, I can hear Sabbath, Led Zep, Bowie, T Rex, even Motorhead and Muse before they existed! Really it's all just them, no other band could do this. The riffs are amazing, Freddie sounds incredible (voice and piano) and wonderfully OTT. Countless brilliant tracks that only work because of them. The track sequence is staggering, so much variety but somehow it flows. Their best album for me. Play loud!

It is across the board perfect. So creative and the attention to detail is insane. The harmonies are just first to none and also Brian May is in my Mount rushmore

Fiiiire. Bus ride home from NYC. Could be my new fave Queen album. Just so consistent.

Enjoyed it! Songs kind of blur together (except Brighton Rock and Killer Queen) but the album as a whole flows really well. Love the cohesive style. 4.5

Great fun: Screeching guitars, epic rock tracks and Freddie Mercury doing his thing.

What a great album, only half an hour and most of the songs are classics.

So good. Favorite one I have gotten thus far. Rock at its finest. Best Song: Killer Queen

A proper album. This is not just songs cobbled together. The way they all just flow into one another is just bliss. A great listen

All I knew off this one was Killer Queen so I was delighted how much of this album I enjoyed. Just all around great music. Lyrics, vocals, song production, every song seems like an event. This was excellent.

Listened to this album 3 times today. It’s certainly not the most iconic work of theirs but god damn do these songs sound great! So many stellar moments throughout.

Maravilhoso

I was so sure tenement funster was done by The Who frontman. But I was wrong. Maaaan so few bands were put together as well as Queen. Ironically, this might be the closest thing we ever got to an ELO record that isn’t actually ELO. Maybe classic rock was just starved for pianos not done in the honkeytonk style. This album is great, the transition from the theatrical melodrama of In The Lap Of The Gods right into the proto-metal, Deep-Purple-esque Stone Cold Crazy. So wonderful. What a performance. And then Leroy Brown?!? That pretty much did a better job every Panic At The Disco song tried to do. Perhaps the coolest thing about this album is how it consistently escalates the theatrics and fun of everything with each new song.

Awesome

I have heard Killer Queen so many times that I now despise the song. Never heard the rest of the album. And it’s fantastic!

Sheer Heart Attack is a much better album than Queen II i feel since it seems to have the spark the other album lacked. Like always in a Queen album, the rhythms and melodies are fun, the lyrics are great, and the album cuts a quick pace. The instrumentation here is amazing too with some great guitar riffs and drum beats and Freddie's vocals were the icing on the cake. This album is a really excellent one and just proves how good Queen is. Best Song: Now I'm Here Worst Song: Killer Queen

Killer Queen is one of the legendary songs. The rest of the songs are already a 4/5, this one gives the final push.

Another fantastic fucking Queen record.

I’ve always been a bit indifferent to Queen. They have recorded some great individual tracks which are highlights on their albums but there always seem to be a lot of filler between these outstanding tracks which make me reach for the forward button. Queen were the favourite band of my ex wife and she used to play their albums incessantly but I have tried to leave that very negative thought to one side. Listening again today (must be 25 years since I last did) I had to eat a lot of humble pie, shake my head and reassess my view of this album. It was a great deal better than I remember it. The last spin 25 years ago was a vinyl copy I had bought cheap in a record store sale (WH Smith I think). It was cheap because the cover was missing. These were the days when stores would sometimes put a cover in the shop window as a form of advertisement. For some reason record and cover never got reunited to my financial gain. Anyhow today I streamed the 2011 remastered version - well more than once it was so good. I know that Brian May is a great guitarist but here he excels and to appreciate his work to the full volume knob needs turning up and I defy anyone not to grab that air guitar. Track after track run well into one another as if the album is one continuous track. Production is first rate and Now I’m Here must be played loud through good speakers to get the great echo effect. I reviewed Night At The Opera a couple of weeks ago and concluded that was perhaps their best album but leaving aside the track that the whole world knows on ANATO, this album beats that hands down. All that needs to be done now is to dust off my cover less copy and see if it matches up to the remastered version. 5/5 1/7/24 Good start to the month lets hope it continues

on the right day, gun to my head, this is my favorite queen album. it's certainly up there for me. to me, this is the album where queen truly becomes queen. although i think they perfect the queen sound on their next album, 'a night at the opera,' this is really the bridge between the early queen sound and the 'iconic' sound they developed. you do get pieces of it with songs like 'killer queen,' but what i love about this album is the harder rock songs - songs like 'brighton rock,' as well as, 'now i'm here.' i also love the 'in the lap of the gods' duology, and of course, with that classic queen sound, you get a queen granny song like 'bring back that leroy brown.' just a really great album that i adore.

Can't go wrong with Queen.

Queen 💙

Spent a lot of time with this one in my teens. Delay solo from Brighton Rock especially nostalgic.

What to say, other than Queen good? Aside from Killer Queen, there aren't any **hits** from Queen on this album, but it still has that incredible, distinctive Queen sound, which means every song will, at worst, will be solid. Most songs are excellent works of artistry.

I really liked it! I love how weird it is

I really never delved into a Queen album before and I’m disappointed I haven't until now.

I've never heard this album before and I really like it!

Queen is a classic for a reason! I enjoyed this album and hadn't heard most of the songs on it before.

not every song on this album is amazing but every good song is so fucking good that it compensates for the ones that are lacking so it gets a 5 stars i love queen

Well this is a classic for classic.

Loved it

Brilliant rock album

Dit is top! Lekker Queen, maar ook goed rockend, divers, en geweldig gespeeld

As expected, absolutely fantastic from start to finish

Queens best album? Maybe, maybe not, but it is great!

Loved this Album. Love Queen. Grew up listening to their greatest hits album. It was great listening to this album and reminiscing. I recognized/love most songs on this album, and my favorite unfamiliar song from this album was Tenement Funster; great upbeat track, replayed it a couple times.

It's really interesting to hear Queen do fairly straightforward rock. Major shock: they're very good at it. Favorite track: In the Lap of the Gods

This is a pure masterpiece. Shows off their technical ambitions, their genre-straddling songwriting prowess, all with a positive approach. Putting the monster that is "Brighton Rock" as the first song is a BOLD MOVE, and it pays off. Sets the tone (almost) for the rest of the Queen catalog with the vocal range and the ridiculous guitar fireworks and the blister-inducing drums. The epic lyric poem! What is even happening! You never get the feeling that anyone in Queen is a junkie with a deathwish. Everyone is the best at their instrument, just a crazy once-in-a-lifetime band. They started hitting their stride on this album.

Awesome, loved the song links.

Already one of my favorite albums of all time. Does not disappoint -- no skips. Five stars easily.

Very good

This is probably my second favourite from Queen, no 1 being Queen II. This one sees the band taki g a step away from prog towards arena rock and yet it’s still in this fun middle part between both worlds where you can both enjoy the big sound and sing along to the songs (especially the last one) and still be blown away by all the different sounds they tried. I know that Queen is being kinda frowned upon today by music nerds so I’m going to go against the current and say that Freddie absolutely deserves a 5 and this album is probably the best suited for this occasion.

Our guys step away from the Medieval courtly long-form style, bringing a whole album of no tracks more than about 5 minutes long. It’s a non-stop romp from start to finish, sacrificing none of their signature drama.

Really found their unique sound here.

As all the albums of the classic Queen, except Hot Space and Made In Heaven, perfect! Waiting for the others choosed...

One of my most listened to albums of all time!

Excellent

One of my top ten all time. Def a 5

Absolutely adored the playfulness of the album. It had influences of pink floyd for me. They can do no wrong.

The first 80% of this album feels like a traditional 80s rock album. Different to the vibe of the first Queen album I’ve listened to, it then evolves into a more experimental vibe more similar to the other album. A pleasant listen all around

I shall classify this album as the one that (finally) sold me to Queen.

I can admit that Queen is a little overrated, but I also love how they managed to make prog-rock as mainstream as they did 10/10

Previously rated: Queen II (4/5) ******************** I liked this a bit better than Queen II. Almost everything is great. Killer Queen is one of their best songs. Stone Cold Crazy rocks hard. I'll definitely listen to this one again.

Loved this - again. I was lucky to see a Queen concert on I max in January. The songs are infectious- all of them.

Big fan, you can really hear their operatic style here coming through here.

Certeiro para entender a importância de se escutar o disco completo. Finalmente percebi a maravilha da potência da sequência de Tenement Fuster até Stone Cold Crazy.

Ah, great. In 'Brighton Rock', 'Now I'm Here' and 'Killer Queen' you have three all-timers. What strikes you when listening to Queen is the care given to the sound - the variety of textures and tones in the mix - and, of course, the layered vocal harmonies. Queen sometimes employ these in punchy little stabs, like they're horns. It works splendidly - give 'Bring Back Leroy Brown' for evidence. It's very hard to be objective about Sheer Heart Attack as Queen were the first band I was ever conscious of as a child. I saw Freddie Mercury in the 'Kind of Magic' video on Greatest Flix II and thought he looked like a superhero. Brian May's guitar sounds almost baroque at times. It's mad that they had one of rock's greatest vocalists and allowed the other guys to sing every now and then. (In fairness, everyone in Queen could sing.) What a fantastic, occasionally bewildering, grab bag of hard rock with the odd proggy flourish.

Whoa. Brian May. They never played that first track on FM radio. Too enraging I suspect. Holds up!

I really love Queen but only know their hits, so I came into this pretty ignorant. Right out of the gate they blew my face off with "Brighton Rock". Freddie Mercury's voice is as iconic as ever, Brian May's riffs are legendary, Roger Taylor drums drive so much of the music, and John Deacon's bass lines are perfect in each song. It was really interesting to hear the medley of the"Tenement Funster"/"Flick of the Wrist"/"Lily of the Valley" trio. It really gives a preview into the band's style that would lead to "Bohemian Rhapsody" on the next album. This album for me seems like it's where Queen's sound became what they were famous for.

5-banger, LET’S GOOOOO!!!! Greatness. Felt like a kick in the face reminder of just how amazing Queen was back in the day (unlike that crap movie). Not stuffed with many of their “hits,” but songs like Brighton Rock and Stone Cold Crazy rocked so hard I didn’t need a bunch of well known tracks (I’m ignoring Bring Back That Leroy Brown). Just the album I needed going into the weekend and I enjoyed several listens. 4.5/5

Hell yeah.

Yesterday my album was Judas Priest, 1980. I made allowances/excuses for it sounding dated. Today I listen to a 1974 Queen rip through Stone Cold Crazy packing more metal and muscle into one track than the whole Priest album. Then they have a banjo on Leroy Brown, piano sprinkled throughout, huge guitar riffs with cheezy witty vocal harmonies. It shouldn't work. We all know the hits, but Queen make even more sense when you hear an album. They made music for themselves. Diverse, funny, unafraid, unique. Loved it.

its jolly good fun, what can I say?

A Queen classic. One of the really great ones and one of the hightlights in the history of this big rock band.

It's Queen, Freddy Mercury's vocals always standout, Brian May's guitar work is exceptional as always. Killer Queen is still as great today as when this album came our. I had never heard any of the other tracks off this album before, but there are a lot of hidden gems on here. Great Queen album, great album all around

Can't believe I never listened before ! 5/5

Favourite tracks: Brighton rock; killer queen; tenement funster; now I'm here; stone cold crazy; misfire; she makes me

Really solid album. It's a testament to how good Queen are overall, because it's really difficult to pick what's better: the musical arrangement or the vocals. They can never disappoint.

I’m a huge Queen fan and heard tracks that were new to me. LOVED this one and could listen to it for hours.

One of my all time favorites.

great band, great album

It's Queen. Nothing but love <3

Classic and everyone should enjoy it

Queen paints with all the colors on the palette. I really liked multiple songs in this album, most of which I'd never heard before. The worst songs on this album are better than the best songs on a lot of renowned rock albums, and it's older than a lot of them too, which is insane. Killer Queen is an absolute slapper.

Oh boy, this album is amazing. It’s often overshadowed by A Night at the Opera, but Sheer Heart Attack is something amazing. I’ve been loving when albums pop up on this listen that I own on vinyl. I try not to be one of those “rah rah rah, vinyl is better than any other music format” type of people, but on this album I’ll truly say that vinyl is the best way to experience this: The first time I listened to this album, it was on iTunes, and there were minor split-second gaps between songs (probably because it was a shitty pirated copy but it may have been an official iTunes purchase, I can’t recall). This completely breaks the flow of the 3-song medley on the first side of the album: “Tenement Funster”/”Flick of the Wrist”/”Lily of the Valley” which really should be played in a row uninterrupted (unless you just listen to the only slightly edited single version of “Flick of the Wrist”). On the record, the first side opens with “Brighton Rock” which is a slow build of carnival noises into Brian May’s chugging guitar and Freddie Mercury’s bizarre fast-sung vocals, and contains what may be May’s best guitar solo recorded. The intro to the first side of the album is completely juxtaposed by the jarring opening of the second side, “In the Lap of the Gods” which begins with a shrill scream from Mercury and Roger Taylor, which then dies down into a weird fever-dream of sorts. The medley and the borderline jumpscare of an intro to the second side of the album are really what set the vinyl apart from other formats for this album. Although it’s hardly Queen’s best, this is an amazing album, and one I love to put on regularly.

On par with the movie

Rami Malek did a great job here

man queen can do something that is so different from the sound you'd expect from them but they never let you down

Killer. 5/5

No es la más objetiva de mis opiniones

Bangers all the way through. 5/5

OH HELL YEAH! Queen has always been a band that I really like, but I've never really dived deep into their albums. I've always just kind of listened to and really enjoyed their big hits. So, after listening to Sheer Heart Attack in its entirety, do I still really like Queen? Of course I do. This band is excellent. The sound is just exquisite. The guitar work is always a joy to listen to and solos like that of the album's opener "Brighton Rock" show off that great talent. The drumming and bass help make it so that the sound is as lively as it is. And the singing. Do I even need to explain what makes Freddie Mercury's singing so great? No I don't. Everyone knows that he's one of the greatest singers in all of history. The songs are great. Some songs don't hit quite as hard as the others, but the ones that are great are really great. The aforementioned "Brighton Rock" sets a great stage for the album. "Killer Queen" is easily my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs from Queen's discography. It's just SO GOOD man! The triple transition from "Tenement Funster", "Flick of the Wrist", and "Lily of the Valley" is just so satisfying to listen to. I could go on. Overall, while I'm willing to bet that Queen has better albums, Sheer Heart Attack is still a great album from one of the greatest bands to ever perform. 5/5.

Amazing album

Loved it all!

Oh, Freddie

I am too biased. But it's Queen.

Great album. No es de los más populares de Queen, pero lo firmarían sin rechistar multitud de bandas de rock y glam, empezando por The Darkness.

It’s Queen, nothing more, Freddy Mercury is one if not the greatest vocal singers of all time and this album proves it

I mean... it's one of the greatest albums of all time

Killer Queen is a hit forever! Album is a masterpiece! Freddie lives forever!

Solo hay una cosa que decir: Solos de Guitarra.

Killer Queen is my #1 Queen song. Brian May is one of the best guitarist of all time. 5stars. Not sorry.

I like this album. I didn’t know that Queen was hard rock like this. I always knew them for their major hits that had more of a vocal aspect to it. I will definitely listen to it again. 5/5.

A gorgeous record.

Everything Queen is classic

My first A+ in my rating scale. Not quite as good as night at the opera, but this is the first queen album where they feel like queen. The versatility on the album is great, featuring multiple vocalists and a song by each band member. Killer queen is obviously special but there's so many tracks that I love here.

I think this might be my favorite Queen album so far. Much heavier instrumentals than I've previously heard from them, and it's a welcome change. They really were an incredibly talented band for one that seems to be more associated with their glitz and glam. Favorite track: Stone Cold Crazy

Guess I’m a child of the 80’s… still love Queen!!!

все пак кралицата!

i’m not sure if I should rate this one or four or five. But every song seem like a new genre and every song was great.

Had heard a few songs from this one before, really like Queen’s music and this one was great.

fabulous,

For me, one of their lesser known albums. It's solid Queen Rock and Roll. They are a very diverse band, and this album showcases that.

Another classic

Loved it!

My favorite albums from Queen are 'New of the world', 'Jazz' and 'Made in Heaven'.

Favorite Queen album!

Brighton Rock Killer queen

Best band ever obviously

Iconic. Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Stone Cold Crazy

Enjoyed every song.

Queen is a band that get's pigeonholed by their hits. Songs like Bring Back That Leroy Brown satisfy in so many ways. What a great listen.

love Queen actually

Oh man, it happened again. I gotta retroactively rate all my 5s a 4 or something, since THIS is what a damn 5 sounds like. Hopefully the first of many Queen albums.

Not Queen's best, but that means that it is still better than 99.9% of other music out there

Not many big hits but Queen is always Killer.

Kinda makes me see the joy of rush or other 80s rock

Brilliant album, loved it

Fuckin love queen.

It's Queen, so it's incredible. Probably one of their least commercial albums; there are a couple single hits on it, but overall, a great listen.

This album was the one who really define what the Queen sound will be, hard rock, glam, art with a touch of experimental and prog rock. I think this album is mostly a either Hard rock or Glam rock (more pop) in general, and the first cathegory are written by May, the second category are written by Mercury. The first two songs show it: Brighton rock is a fast song, ish metal with a fucking astonishing guitar solo by Brian May (almost sound like a violin its ground breaking). Killer Queen is a purely glam rock, pop song that still is how we know Queen today, this song for me is the most representative (maybe wrongly) of what Queen is, its a about a luxury escort girl, energetic with a catchy chorus and a good solo. Roger Taylor sing on the 3rd song Tennement funster, wich is not the best on the album but its not bad. The best Glam songs are: Flick of the wrist, Dear friends (wich was written by May), Misfire (written by Deacon) have a really fun riff and musicality. The best hard song are: Now i'm here, Stone cold crazy (wich really sound like heavy metal or punk rock, with a fast rythms, riff and solo, a Brian May masterpiece). The rest of the songs are very good too, not as much as those i think but still this album is very great, equally a great hard rock album as a Glam rock album, a timeless classic by Queen and they will get better with the follow up reccords.

Fantastic. Listened to this album dozens of times; one of my favorite Queen records, also one of my favorite rock records. Front to back, strong songwriting, excellent production; Freddie’s vocals are superb. Love this album.

Brighton Rock has some of the most impressive vocals in any Queen song. Killer Queen is maybe top 5 Queen songs ever. Now I'm Here is great. Stone Cold Crazy is intense. Misfire is so cheery sounding. And Bring Back Leroy Brown is so fun and bouncy. I think those make up for the "lesser" 4/5 songs that make up the rest of the album. 5/5 overall.

Masterpiece. Nice overlays and harmonisation interwoven with intricate melodies. Every track is a winner! This album is usually forgotten amidst A Night At The Opera.

Nice! This was the album with Killer Queen.

Finally, a Queen album. Will always be a 10/10 in my book.

One the greatest albums I've ever heard. I owned this album as a kid and controversially will say it's their best. They manage to keep their high quality of sound while changing up the sound 3-4 times during the album. There are several songs that even sound like a completely different band is playing. Flick of the Wrist is secretly the best song off this album and the most underrated queen song of all time. 10/10

YAS QUEEN SLAY! What a diverse set of songs with so many unique sounds spread throughout. Its insane how different every song sounds while still maintaining the Queen vibe. They did some genres better in one song than we have heard from full albums of other artists. There were multiple songs that left me with a big smile. Fuck AIDs for taking such an angelic voice away from us. A fantastic album from one of the greatest bands of all time. 10/10 I would give this higher than a 10 if possible.

It's early Queen, you know it's amazing.

A classic. Lily of the Valley alone makes this album a 5

start to finish, this album is a masterpiece. this is when queen really started to hit their stride. this is my favourite era of the band (mid to late 70’s), and between this album and 1975’s “a night at the opera”, they are two of my favourite albums from the 1970’s. this has everything you could want from a queen album: killer harmonies, otherworldly vocals, heavy guitars, piano. overall, an eclectic mix of songs. this one is an all timer, kids. highlights: “killer queen”, “flick of the wrist”, “stone cold crazy”, “bring back that leroy brown”.

There were a number of songs on here I'd never heard before and there wasn't a single song I didn't like. Queen. Legends.

I am always a fan of Queens combination of hard rock, orchestral instruments, and insane vocals. This album is a great representation of their popular style. Pretty good! Favorite song(s): "Killer Queen", "Tenement Funster", "Flick of the Wrist", "In the Lap of the Gods", "Stone Cold Crazy", "Now I'm Here"

Grew up with this because of my dad, always loved Queen, can't beat the power in the voice of Freddie

Holy crap this is awesome. I mean anything where I am hearing Freddie sing is awesome, but this album is really a lot of fun!

Wow, this was fun!

it's queen. it's a great album. their sound is fun and groovy and upbeat even when it's somber. knowing the history of them and my genuine love for this band makes it a 5 for me.

A lot of fantastic queen classics on this one. They will always get a 5 from me

This is so much better than Night at the Opera, etc This one just kicks you in the gut and moves on without all the overblown pomp and faffing about.

My favorite Queen album, under appreciated compared to the hits.

This album is 51 years old and still rocks. Slit eyed girl is a bit of an eye opener but indicative of the time. The rest however is great.

Queen will always be one of my favorite bands. I could listen to this all day.

Great album! Great vocals, instrumentals, and great writing

My favourite queen record. ‚Killerqueen‘ and ‚stone cold crazy‘ are the hits for me. But the rest is great too!

Love them so much. Always good to l’estensione to them. A classic

Really enjoyed this. Brighton rock was a great opener and in the lap of the gods at the end felt like a prelude to bohemian rhapsody on a later album. Enjoyed misfire and the thrash of stone cold crazy, incredible talent

Really enjoyed this. Some massive sounding songs on here. I'd never consciously thought of Queen as glam rock but this was glam AF. Harder rocking than a lot of classic Queen. The cover makes me feel a bit ill though, looks like a forgotten store room in Madame Tussauds. Highlights were Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Now I'm Here, Stone Cold Crazy

I squealed when I saw this was today’s album. The album that marks the beginning of THE Queen sound. Listened to this while chilling outside and just let it revive me from a long weekend of fun. Kept going back and forth on whether I wanted to rate it 4 or 5. Kept comparing it to Hot Space in my head, but I think it’s still a 5 but in a completely different way. Love how each song is so unique on this record.

This album is an easy 5/5. Killer Queen and Stone Cold Crazy are top 10 Queen songs.

It's Queen. It's different. They pushed the boundaries. And I love it.

This is a completely different Queen from what I'm used to! - The opening act, Brighton Rock, is amazing!

I really enjoy Queen but had never listened to this record completely through. It was quite enjoyable. The guitar riffs really pull you into a lot of these songs. Freddie finds so many ways to show off his unique vocal. Many of the songs are short which I kind of like. There's no need to be overly pretentious with a 15 minute song. They get to the point and they get there with gusto. I can see why this is considered one of their best records.

Great stuff. Not many bands have remained as relevant for as long as Queen. Hard to give them anything other than a 5.

Queen. Checkmate. 5/5

"Sheer Heart Attack" by Queen is an electrifying masterpiece that defies genre boundaries. Released in 1974, it showcases Queen's artistic evolution with a fusion of rock, glam, and opera influences. From the infectious energy of "Stone Cold Crazy" to the theatrical brilliance of "Killer Queen," each track is a sonic journey. Freddie Mercury's vocals are nothing short of transcendent, backed by Brian May's iconic guitar work. The album's dynamic range and fearless experimentation make it a timeless classic. "Sheer Heart Attack" is a testament to Queen's musical prowess and remains a must-listen for anyone seeking a diverse, genre-defying musical experience.

An excellent example of album oriented rock and a real showcase of Queen's differing sound.

I didn't discover this album via this project, but it has been a recent discovery nonetheless. I joined a vinyl subscription club during the first covid lockdown, and this was in one of my monthly bundles. I have to admit I was massively disappointed when I opened it. Queen are just so bombastic, and while I like a bunch of their songs, they're not really go-to listens. Or so I thought...! This album is fantastic, and I've listened to it a ton since then. Brighton Rock is a mental opener. It was one of those cases playing the vinyl where you immediately take it off and play it on the different speed setting because it sounds like a chipmunk singing... only to realise it was correct in the first place! So many other great songs, with lots of variation and playfulness. Big glam hits. Really catchy, great guitars and melodies. TONS of personality. I love the way the tracks merge and sit alongside each other. I particularly love the segueing of Tenement Funster into Flick of the Wrist, which then eases beautifully into Lily of the Valley. Flick of the Wrist is an absolute beast, and definite favourite on the album for me. I can't help but sing along. Killer Queen is obviously another big hit, but Now I'm Here and Misfire are other real standouts. I think this is a brilliant album. And for me it's a real left-field choice. I just think it fires on pretty much every level. As a fun aside, the actual track 'Sheer Heart Attack' didn't make it onto this album, but instead went on 'News of the World'. However, that is also a tune!

I wrote a very long review of this and it got flushed. A sonic confection. Every single penny is on the screen. Razor sharp, lyrical guitars. Almost, no definitely a flex in its own ability. No mere group of mortals could have created this. Biggest surprise: She Makes Me. An almost velveteqsue psychedelic beauty

Not totally my thing but obviously a masterpiece

One of my favorite Queen albums and it is very underrated.

It's Queen. 5. Duh.

Classic, good

Their last album had underperformed, they were struggling financially, their managers controlled them with an iron grip, and their guitarist had almost died (twice). Yet in the midst of all this chaos Queen produced an almost perfect jewel of an album: redolent with exquisite vocal harmonies, a mishmash of genres that come together in a heady bouquet, and which points the way to their triumphs yet to come.

El disc hard rock de Queen. Época de creativitat desbordant per la banda, que tan aviat consumava un exercici de rock dur perfecte com 'Brighton Rock', com excel.lia en el pop fervent de 'Killer Queen', s'accelerava a joies com 'Flick of the Wrist' i 'Stone Cold Crazy' i se suavitzava a la bonica 'Lily of the Valley'... cada tema aquí és una pedra preciosa diferent i igualment enlluernadora

It’s not Queen’s best, but it’s still so good. Love Queen, love the album.

5 plus this one

Several songs I've never heard before. Was pleasant surprise.

AGHHHH augh thos albums so good i love it so bad.. the first 5 tracks are just incredible vocal mastery. crashing falsetto on brighton rock. joyous. excellent guitar and lovely reverb... mmmmmm yummy awooo

5/5. A little biased but these songs do just flow into one another so easily. Short and sweet, they are unique and stand out so I’m never confused as to what song I’m listening to. Beautiful at times, silly and crazy at others, just a solid album.

Totally awesome

The dueling guitars, the imppecable vocals, the undeniable style, these guys are my lead zepplin, the performance that cannot be matched.

Queen rocks

Queen is one of my favorite bands. I love the lyrics, the tune, the vibes it’s all so good this has to be a 5

How have I never listened to queen before?: a really good album filled with songs I have never heard of but can 100% listen to again and again until they stick in my mind and never leave. Solid album.

As a music fan, I do a fair amount of chin-stroking, carefully considering what I’m listening to and evaluating it as art. I can forget sometimes that the primary purpose of most music is entertainment. You can’t forget that when listening to Queen. Hard to think of another band more willing to do handstands and back-flips to amuse you. This album is a blast. It’s got that signature Queen mash-up of hair metal meets vaudeville theatricality. “Killer Queen” is the standout track, one of their all-time bests, and it’s surrounded by a dozen tracks just as wild and energetic and eager to please.

day 24. I *think* this is the first Queen album I’ve listened to in its entirety. Only knew Killer Queen before. This is such a fun, weird, catchy joyride that just flies by. I had to listen to it twice and pay closer attention to the individual songs to figure out what my favorites were because they all just flow together so well. Even songs I wasn’t wild about like Misfire had some role to play in setting up what comes next. that being said I do feel like I would end up skipping some of the slower tunes. She Makes Me wasn’t doing much of anything for me. there were a lot of highs on the album for me (more on the front end) - Now I’m Here, Tenement Funster+Flick of the Wrist, Brighton Rock, Stone Cold Crazy … and I really like In The Lap of the Gods Revisited, it closes the album perfectly. 4.5/5 rounded up to 5, not perfect but I would absolutely listen to it many times over

Really fun album. Freddie gives an amazing performance and the rest of the band is equally tight. Good all around

this was great! killer queen is one of my favorite songs ever, but the rest of the album was surprisingly good as well! when queen is on, they’re one of the best bands ever, and this is all four doing some of their best work

An amazing album from an amazing band.

Un des meilleurs albums de Queen (égalité avec Queen II), Sheer Heart Attack a kickstart ma passion des albums, j’aurais donc probablement pas fait ce challenge si je l’avais pas écouté il y a 5 ans. 5/5, good job

i mean, stunning. it doesn’t get better.

love queen

Great album top to bottom. Always love Queen but never listened to this album all the way through and gotta say it’s probably better than A Day at the Races. The tempo of the album does this really cool thing where it ebbs and flows not just from one song to the next but also within and between songs. The trifecta transition connecting Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist, and Lily of the Valley is so good that I can’t even tell where one song starts and the other begins. Brighton Rock: 4.5/5 love the tempo of the song, brings back memories of Baby Driver whenever I listen to it. Lyrics are kinda hard to follow and the middle of the song feels a little drawn out but that’s mostly nitpicking a great song. Killer Queen: 5/5 classic for a reason. That guitar riff is iconic and the song just makes you want to bop your head and sing along Tenement Funster: 4.5/5 really love the beat and the guitar solos and Roger Taylor’s vocals are a nice change of pace Flick of the Wrist: 5/5 quickly becoming one of my favorite Queen songs it’s so catchy and high tempo and was getting me so pumped up just listening to it with the rising deep vocals Lily of the Valley: 4/5 slower tempo song is a nice change of pace and the lyrics are really deep and emotional Now I’m Here: 4/5 solid classic Queen rock anthem. Not much more to say In the Lap of the Gods: 2/5 kinda boring basic transition song. Not worth listening to independently of the album but serves a good purpose in transitioning between the front and back half. Also serves as the basis for the revisited version Stone Cold Crazy: 3/5 another solid romp but when compared to the rest of the similar style songs on this album before it it lands a little flat Dear Friends: 3.5/5 nice slow tempo change of pace with good harmony and instrumentation just a little too short and gets lost in the rest of the album Misfire: 4/5 A solid song with a different vibe with the high pitched guitar riffs which give it a kinda fluttery feel. A little short would have loved to see the concept drawn out Bring Back That Leeroy Brown: 3/5 really brings out the British rock in them and feels like a cross of Beatles and Jim Croce which is probably close to what they’re going for but doesn’t really resonate with me because I don’t associate heavy piano with Queen and the repetitiveness of the chorus doesn’t really land She Makes Me: 3/5 no strong opinion. It’s just kinda there and is easy to space out on at the end of the album In the Lap of the Gods… Revisited: 4/5 a great rock ballad that serves as a great send off to a great album. Also love how it revisits a weaker song from earlier in the album and spins it and its message into something new. Doesn’t really hold a candle to the top of the album but this type of ballad song is quintessential Queen album design

Freddie Mercury's voice shines in this unique soundscape

It’s a great album. It has Killer Queen on it.Brighton rock id crazy guitar theatrics.Stone cold Crazy is a fun song. Now I’m here’s Intro is great.Bring back that leroy Brown is Kind of a fun olden timey sounding song.In the lap of goss revisited is theatrical and I like it.

Killer queen... ¡Vinilo!

I love this album. Probably my favorite album from Queen. It starts and ends so strong, it's kind of incredible. Brian May's guitar tone is perfect as always. Almost a perfect record.

Queen! Really flexing the range here. And Killer Queen is one of my favorites.

It’s crazy how unique Queen is. so fun.

Pre listening notes - already one of my favorite queen albums, as well as album covers ;) Top 3 tracks are: 3. Lap of the Gods 2. Killer Queen 1. Now I’m Here Post listening notes - Brighton Rock - unimpressed initially, vocals and riffs seemed strange jolty and unorganized, but at 3:19 my opinion changed, the skills exhibited by each member in this solo/duet? Incredible

Sheer Heart Attack is Queen's third studio album. After those first two great albums, they released this fantastic record that finally defined their sound for the 70s. This may be my favorite album not only from the first three albums, but from their entire discography (since I enjoy their early albums the most). Every song is just brilliant. Vocals, guitars, drums, production... everything is very close to what people usually call PERFECTION. This is the absolute definition of a perfect album - 5/5.

Queen man. Top tier

"Sheer Heart Attack" is the third studio by English rock band Queen. Musically and lyrically, Queen was digressing from the progressive themes of their first two albums becoming more pop-centric and conventional rock...."classic" Queen. Queen used four major studios to record and had to work around and with Brian May health issues. The album was excellently produced by Roy Thomas and is recognized as one of if not their best albums and an essential glam rock album. They go well beyond glam rock on this album. The album launched their world-wide popularity and made the US album top 20 hitting #12. "Brighton Park" begins with carnival noises and very high-pitched Freddie Mercury vocals. A Brian May-written song and he showcases his guitar ability with solos and delay effects. A hard, fast song about two lovers meeting on holiday in Brighton. "Kller Queen" was their first hit single and the first Queen song that I remember hearing. Fingers snapping, the piano comes in and Freddie mentions a marionette. No, Marie Antoinette, I now know. Actually about a high-class call girl. Brian May wrote "Now I'm Here" while in the hospital. A strumming guitar open which reminded me of a Pavement song "A Date With IKEA." It goes to a chaotic jam by the band. The classic guitar riff sounds a lot like The Nazareth riff in "Hair of the Dog" a year later. The song is about their previous tour with Mott the Hoople. A highlight of the second side and album is "Stone Cold Crazy." This is driving thrash metal. Taylor is playing punk drums. A favorite among heavy metal and rock fans and about gangsters and Al Capone. A second mention of Al Capone this week. The band goes ragtime in "Bring Back That Leroy Brown," an ode to the Jim Croce song. May playing ukulele and banjo, Deacon on upright bass and Taylor killing it with the kick drums. The albums ends with "In the Lap of the Gods..Revisted" which the band intended to be a song to sing along to and it was up until a song a few years later about champions. Very anthem-like and a great song to end with. This album is great...my favorite Queen. Beyond glam, there's elements of metal and hard rock. A lot of variety also with ragtime and the album does not seem overly ambitious like some of their work. The production and arrangements are excellent. Each member showing their talent and strengths. Excellent guitar work and effects by May. A classic.

Queen is my favorite classic rock band!

really cool old shit

As I've said already, Queen is my favourite band. I know this album backwards and forwards. Brighton Rock is why I picked up a guitar many many years ago. So much good stuff on here beyond the incredibly well known Killer Queen.

BOOM BADDA BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM This album is so much fun, and so energetic, and doesn't have any of the gross trappings that other arena-ready rock acts of the era tend to have. (No songs lamenting the fact that a girl is underage or anything.) I like this as a whole more than any other full album I've heard of theirs. I gonna find this vinyl.

Great album! Sound is raw and just rocks in so many fun ways. Love Queen! Stand out songs for me are Killer Queen, Now I'm Here, Stone Cold Crazy

Dia 1. God save the Queen.

Before this album, I had only listened to a Night at the Opera (which is an amazing album). This album is also very good, but not as good. You get the feeling that they were warming up for their best album to be released the following year. There are great stand out tracks that showcase the sometimes awe inspiring musicianship of the band, as well as the vocal mastery of Freddie Mercury. On the other hand, 'She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stilettos)' kinda sounds like a bit of a drag, especially after the chaotic brilliance of 'Bring Back That Leroy Brown'. The great tracks greatly outnumber the poorer tracks in this album and it is highly recommended. FAVORITE TRACKS - Killer Queen - Now I'm Here - Stone Cold Crazy - Bring Back That Leroy Brown - In The Lap Of The Gods... Revisited 4.75/5

Fucking hell I love Brian May for this, absolute 100% glam shred perfection. Honourable mention to the one shot cowbell in Misfire. I've been pretty generous with the five stars lately but this is a no brainer

Absolutely amazing. Rocky, fun, and hearty.

My favourite Queen album. Every one a bangers - all Killer Queens with no Filler Queens...

Holy moly, what an album. This generator is making me a bonafide Queen fan. Who would’ve thought!?

Again I'm quietly blown away by a Queen album. Recognised killer queen and stone cold crazy on this one, the rest was new every bit as good. That perfect mix of whimsical bullshit and hard rock, and pulled off really well. Easy 5/5, could have been twice as long.

Classic/10

Walking down the street Shooting people that I meet With my rubber Tommy water gun Here come the deputy He's gonna come and get a me I gotta get me get up and run Outstanding album - basically perfect. 5/5

Really good album, it's Queen so I don't think it ever could have been bad. Freddie Mercury sounds amazing and the instrumentation is wonderful. I've honestly not heard much Queen outside of the most popular songs, but I am excited to hear more of their discography, as I'm certain that there's going to be far more on this list. Favourite: Stone Cold Crazy

So much to love here. I’d forgotten how great this album is. The riffs! The operatics! It feels like a mad jumble of brightly coloured rags and mirrors and yet the musicianship is unquestionable. Ace.

Best Song: Killer Queen, obvs. Second Place: Brighton Rock - hello, guitar solo, I love you. Best Use of Stereo: Right Here. Honorable Mention because it doesn't fit AT ALL but I love it so so much: Bring Back Leroy Brown. May Jim Croce be remembered with the greats. Least Fave: In the Lap of the Gods Side note: Tenement Funster. Just, yes.

Great sound

I understand it! It's great. I never LOVED Queen like this. I get the hype now.

been listening to this since high school it's one of my favs from them . lily of the valley hits different, also in the lap of the gods revisited

First album where multiple songs made it into my "holy cow" playlist. Easy 5/5. Absolutely stellar example of strong songwriting, production, and playing in one group

It's Queen. It's brilliant.

Epic in every sense

I was not familiar with this album before I listened to it. I was familiar with a couple of the songs though. Killer Queen was the mega hit from this album but the rest of the songs were solid. I listened to this album twice and I would definitely listen to it again.

One of my favorite albums from my teenage years.

This the third album by Queen. The first two were like the band in embryo. Sheer Heart Attack is like the overture for what they would become.

muy buen álbum de rock, es quirky e irreverente. sabe a lo que va y no tiene pretensiones muy elevadas.

Terrific Queen album. Absolutely love the streak of Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist and Lily of the Valley. Stone Cold Crazy and Bring Back that Leroy Brown are bangers too. If that wasn't enough, this album also has the best Queen song in Killer Queen.

Big leap forwards from Queen II. Close to perfection, and one but best Queen album for me: 1. A Night at the Opera 2. Sheer Heart Attack 3. The Game 4. News Of The World 5. A Kind of Magic

Queen fucking rules. Elaborate, fun, technical, almost absurdly dramatic. Awesome guitar work from Brian May as always. And Freddie just goes without saying.

Yeah this album rocks, lots of great songs, still has that fun faerie flair of the early Queen stuff but also some absolutely banging soaring guitar riffs and lots of variety in terms of song energy.
