My young dad would loved it.
I like punk's style, message, existence, whole thing way more than i like punk's music, alas. For an album under 30 minutes it sure has a lot of songs that sound similar.

6/10 Catchy but quite repetitive and the lyrics (which are the most interesting part of these songs) are hard to make out at times.
This is a lean, mean, bite-sized piece of punk. Catchy and concise. Music to crash your car to.
I like it - kinda like the same song with different lyrics though lol but iconic. Looped the album twice and it gave me a headache

It’s the Ramones. Punk rock in America was arguably changed forever with this release. Fast, simple and fantastically fun punk from start to finish. 14 tracks in 28 minutes. Flying through weird lyrics and whatever production values they could get they make one of American punks Rushmore releases.
Great, raw punk sound

This is a great album for what it represents. But when you really listen, so many of the songs sound exactly the same.
I liked it initially sort of trailed off towards the last 3 songs which I haven't finished as of Fri Nov 3rd. I like the energy, the sense of rebellion we get from the tracks. But it doesn't feel iconic.
Just the best ever. It sucks. It's awesome. Energetic, repetitive, entertaining classic.

First things first, I understand how influential this is. Literally one of, if not, the first punk albums ever. The high energy and simple lyrics are an ok change of pace, and the 29 minute runtime makes this short and sweet. However, it was a tiny bit annoying at points and the tracks started to merge together. Good, but not GOOD.
The O.G. of punk! Absolutely loved it. Never listened through the full album outside of Blitzkrieg Bop.

Good but seems like it’s the same anthem with different words. Absolutely made the blueprint for later bands. Simplicity and coolness go a long way. 3.5/5
This is the quintessential American punk album if not the greatest punk album of all time. The songs are short, punchy, and memorable yet are harmonically interesting. Ramones deftly synthesized their 50s and 60s influences into their proto-punk influences to create something frenetic and driving that wasn't overproduced. What's really interesting about this album is how well developed its pop sensibility is. The songs are not overtly experimental yet are creating something that had and continues to have unprecedented influence.

Probably the only things more fun than this Ramones album is a couple of other Ramones albums.

Hugely important album, and Britzkreig Bop is an all time banger, but once you've heard one track, you've kind of heard them all. Neat album closer, though. Did you know these guys sold more shirts then records?
14 tracks, 29:04 ... buckle up i think the Ramones exist best as a 2 minute interlude of distortion, affectation, and worst/best lyrics to enliven your evening, your soundtrack, your bar karaoke, your dance night. it didn't seem like even they had the attention span to finish the album. will continue to enjoy songs from this album individually, will probably never listen to the album in its entirety again. 4 stars nonetheless for "Judy is a Punk" and "Blitzkrieg Bop".
Foundational and iconic and all that, but it's not really listenable as an album.
It was fun!!! I like a good fast-paced song that doesn’t overstay its welcome, and this album was full of those. THIS is the type of punk rock I like, not MC5 lol. some of those lyrics though… 😬
was about 30% longer than could hold my attention, but I liked most individual songs, but fell of pretty quickly after the chainsaw sound blasted through my car speakers, fucking wrecking my eardrums. variety is the spice of life. 2.5

A prolific album and a lot of fun to listen to. Maybe a bit monotone at times but you have to appreciate the straight forward approach without it getting boring. This album will forever be a staple.

Classic sound, seems like a ton of newer bands sound like them
Fuzzy summer tunes. Riding through town on my bike, hearing the iconic "ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR" just before the guitars on overdrive come ripping in evokes a feeling of limitless youth. A feeling of excitement that rushes through your veins. I enjoy trying to pick out their influences (some of the melodies are vaguely reminiscent of the era of Beach Boys) and also noticing the music that followed the Ramones and took influence from them. All in all the fuzzy guitar and melodic punk melodies bring me back to my youth in the early 2000's, to the years of black skinny jeans, white T's, leather jackets, and garage bands.
I like more variation in my music. This is very same same old school punk.
It was the same song for 30 minutes. Everyone who has ever worn a Ramones shirt owes me financial compensation for the emotional hardship I felt as I watched my expectations for this album crash into the floor in a fiery explosion. An extra star for Blitzkrieg Bop

Repetitive with juvenile lyrics but also really sing-dang catchy
Ramones follow a basic rock chord structure with simple drum beats accompanied by simple bass lines. Their lyrics are so far not anything spectacular. I dislike the vocalists voice. Lyrics are often repeated. All the songs sound the same. I used to like punk rock when I was a bit younger, but sadly this is not for me. I can definitely see the appeal however, to those who got into Ramones in their youth many years ago.

Ramones by the Ramones is a pretty influential album, but not a very impressive one overall. This is one of the first real Punk albums ever released, so that's pretty cool! The sound of the songs is pretty neat, especially for the time. I do, however, have a few problems with this album. For one, it is quite repetitive. Even if I like the sound of the album, all of the songs sound the same, so there's not as much substance as I would like. Instead of feeling like 14 songs, it just feels like one 29-minute long song. Speaking of which, this album is really short, but I guess that's a good thing with the aforementioned repetition. Also this album has some really weird lyrics, and not in a good way. Take for instance, the second song, which is about wanting to beat a kid with a baseball bat. Yeah. Or the last song where the singer claims to be a Nazi (although that one can be explained by the perspective being from a Hitler Youth member). Overall, I definitely understand why this album is on here, but it's nothing really special to me personally. High 3/5.

Enjoyed Havana Affair the most and also the iconic Blitzkrieg Bop but the rest of the album was disappointing from a musical aspect for me, extremely repetitive and very short song lengths. The way that Joey Ramone sings the word "Massacre" on the song "Chain saw" makes me want to rip my heart out and shove it down my own throat.

I understand that these guys were one of the original pioneers of the punk music, and maybe it's because punk isn't a genre that interests me, but I didn't really find this album interesting at all. The music is bland and repetitive and the lyrics appeal to a certain... age demographic that I'm no longer in. Just feels cheesy I guess. Maybe if I was a teen in the 70s this album would do more for me.
Easy 5 stars! Such a fun album that perfectly encapsulates punk.

With its unmistakable sound, Ramones (1976) is a highly influential and iconic record. The album helped to consolidate and simplify a new, emerging form of musical expression known as punk rock. The straightforward structure influenced the whole genre, as well as other genres that borrowed from punk. However, its consistency may also be its biggest flaw: it gets pretty repetitive, due to the lack of experimentation. The most popular songs, in general, are the ones with an exciting, catchy pop feel and instrumental dynamics that change things up just the right amount.
Musically I'd never really rated the Ramones. I love the look and I love the attitude, but musically I couldn't see the fuss. Most of it seemed like old fashioned rock n roll. Blitzkrieg Bop, Rockaway Beach and Rock and Roll High School could easliy be tracks by Bill Haley and The Comets. The glam pop of Baby I Love could have been by The Rubettes. It didn't make sense that they should be considered punk. Then I heard this. Turns out they were hiding the punk in the album tracks. I was wrong. This is a punk album and this is great.

Such a solid classic punk rock album.
This is a scarily perfect record. I can't listen to the Ramones very often because this stripped-back, minimalist pop overwhelms me after a while - two swift playbacks had me seeking a quiet room to let their ironically juvenile robotic declarations and their driving rhythm section - everything, apart from Joey's voice - seep out of my brain.
first three (EDIT: four) songs are great and set the template for EVERYTHING else, of course. one of those bands for which you appreciate the influence but don't really want to hear again
Several iconic and amazing songs on the album, but is otherwise kind of boring / redundant to listen to as an album.
Maybe exciting for 1976, but now its boring and repetative.
The energy is amazing, and Blitzkrieg Bop is a certified classic. But some of the songs feel really unpolished in an unintentional way because they’re an experienced band, especially when more than half of the songs *don’t have an ending* and even some of the one’s that do is because the band just… stops playing. 53rd and 3rd even has a fake-out ending and then the real ending FADES OUT! I felt like I was losing my mind! Overall some good stuff but it’s hurt by the band’s inexperience (at the time of release).

I wanted to give this 5 stars, but there's just a little bit of sameness here that made me detract one. But as far as bands that basically make the same song ad infinitum go? The Ramones are assuredly the best. Power chords and a ton of energy are the secret ingredients here, and the recipe goes down easy. It's near impossible to not have a good time when this is on. This album is an astounding debut.

In context of music history and the evolution of punk this album is as essential as it may get. But it's far from being a masterpiece when rated on its own. Most songs on here are very same-y while some songs feel way less inspired than others. The production and performances are subpar, especially when compared to later Ramones-records. So I guess it's highly praised due to the fact that these guys came up with this record at that specific time and place to gain relevance.

The Ramones!!! I know every word (not that there are that many). Jesse Covington took me to see them at the Masquerade. I think it was their last tour, though we didn’t know it at the time. Drivin n Cryin opened. I was 15 or 16, it was summery sunny but not hot. Jesse Covington was in love with me and we could not get enough of that three-chord noise. When I think about how special it was to grow up in Atlanta, this day comes to mind. I would have told you at the time, it was one of the best days of my life.

Say "one! two! three! four!" one more time, please. While the sound of this album is the 70s punk sound perfected (created really), every song sounds very similar. Does make you feel kinda cool and rebellious listening to it though. Will give it another listen to sink in,
I understand why this music was very influential. However, I don't know how someone can listen to the album front to back. If it weren't for the pauses between songs, I wouldn't know when one song ended and when another started.

Quintessential British punk rock. Each song sounds like the last. Simple chords with an electric wall of raw sound all in 4/4 time. It’s the feeling of confidently spitting in the face of authority.

Well I guess I asked for this when I said Americans didn't understand Punk and totally forgot that they (sort of) invented it with 60s garage rock. This is 60s garage rock sped up even though it sounds quite slow by more modern standards, I imagine it was shockingly fast in the mid 70s. It's not a bad album by any standard, but it's also not the holy grail that some people seem to think it is. It wasn't even slightly successful when it was first released, probably because it's actually a bit samey. I couldn't imagine picking a favourite song from this album, because they're all essentially the same as each other. I was kind of on the fence with this, but I found myself humming some of the songs all day, so I'm going for a 4 star rating.
Most songs sound the same and it hasn't aged the best, but it's still pretty fun. By the way, listen to the Spotify 40th anniversary mono mixes. They sound so much better than the regular 2016 remasters.

Apart from track one, this album sounds all the same, one track melding into the next one. The album is only 30mins long with 14 tracks, each track only 1:30-2:40 mins long. I went into this album expecting to like it from track one but it was all the so samey.

This is the real thing. 1976 and a breath of rancid air. Whole album is under 30 mins and each track under 3 mins. What must it have been like to hear them at the time? Joyful and energetic- total integrity. Superb.
You know what you are getting with the Ramones. Even though the album if less than 30 minutes, it is hard to sustain interest across the 14 songs here as they merge into each other. Blitzkrieg bop, Judy is a punk and their cover of Do you wanna dance are all decent enough though
I've heard this album before, and I'm aware of its reputation as one of the greatest, if not THE greatest punk rock album ever made. I would also consider myself a pretty big Ramones fan, and this isn't my favorite album of theirs. It's actually 'Leave Home'. I've never really understood why this one is the most popular, even after listening to it multiple times. However, for some reason, it definitely clicked a bit more this time. It doesn't surpass 'Leave Home' for me, but I think it passes up some of their other albums that I preferred. Gonna give it 4 stars. (And I fucking love Blitzkrieg Bop)

This is one of the most influential punk albums out there, and it’s a fun listen, too. It wouldn’t necessarily be a 5 instead of a 4 if not for when it came out, but it’s one of those albums you just have to respect. The songs are still great, too, and at less than 30 minutes, it doesn’t overstay its welcome. A fun and extremely important record.

I'm a big fan of the shared riffs between the bass and guitar throughout the album, it not only feels very vindicating to get an album with the bass playing at the forefront, but it makes it so they're all catchy too. I'll admit every song here starts to sound the same, I wouldn't be surprised if they were all born from the same general idea, but the slight changes they make to each one pushes some songs to being really pumping tunes, like the opening credits to a really fast paced film. I just wish the singing on it fit the oomph of the rest of the instruments a bit more, as his voice can feel a little wimpy, like Ray Davies trying to sing how he sings on Village Green whilst performing You Really Got Me. Then again, someone else sang on this album at a point, and that voice sounded much worse, so maybe it's for the best? Album could've stood to be shorter, even at it's short runtime already (again, lots of repeats), but if you're in the right mood, the blood-pumping is good.

Never really listened to The Ramones outside of their bigger songs. Kinda what I expected. Energetic, punk rock / garage rock. Can’t deny their influence, albeit every article ever written about the Ramones’ influence tends to lean more on their style and less on their music. Which kinda shows as theres not a lot of substance here… Some canny tracks surrounded by a very tried and tested formula. Gets old. Quick. Highlights: Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue, Blitzkrieg Pop, Havana Affair (RHCP do a cracking cover of this)
Very iconic, knew the singles and the rest of it sounded exactly like I expected to. Think this one falls into the 'very influential on music I like but not that good itself ' category. It sounds thrown together which is very punk but the drums in particular sound terrible. Once you've heard blitzkrieg bop you don't need the other songs really. Musically very important, glad it happened, probably won't listen again.
Sounds very much like, "well, this is punk then". I like the mindless lyrics. Beyond what I expect for punk, the regular, repetitive choruses, and short length of the songs make it quite the punchy album. Blitzkrieg Bop is of course great, and the rest are good but I wouldn't actively choose to listen to this again. Something like a 3.4

Know the Ramones but don't think I've ever listened to an album. Might be weird to say, but not as punk as I was expecting, dare I say more pop punk.... Thought it would be more hardcore, but guess they likely wouldn't be so appealing to the masses if it were. Didn't quite live up to the heights that I thought it might. Wanted it turned up to 11 and it didn't quite get there. Was quite good though. Short songs, energetic. But lacking the tracks in more familiar with, blitzkrieg bop aside. I'm sure lots of bands I like have this to be thankful for 3.5

The Sex Pistols gained more notoriety but Ramones are the OGs of punk. Since I’m a big fan of this era, it seems strange not giving it a 5 but bands like the Clash that were influenced by Ramones created much better music.
The Ramones pumping out these tracks in 1974 in CBGBs must have turned a lot of heads. It was so different than the bloated stuff around at that time. As infectious as Blitzkrieg Pop is, I've never been too fond of it due to it's Bay City Roller-esque chants and the Nazi reference, which Im surprised they never got more heat for. The rest of the tracks sound predictable now but were more groundbreaking then. The Sex Pistols debut from around that time is more more to my tastes, with its anger and anarchistic themes and less of an old time, garage rock &roll feel.
Seminal punk album from a seminal punk band. Stripped down, simple and raw. It started off with a bang with Blitzkrieg bop, Beat on the brat and Judy is a punk, but after awhile it got very repetitive but the album was mercifully short at only 29 mins! I think this may be the shortest album on the list?
I enjoyed listening to the beginnings of punk, another genre I've neglected.
Energetic, buzzy, young pop-songs. Basically Buddy Holly and early Beatles played by long teenagers. Can hear the influence on the buzzcocks who I happen to love and the lyrics are stupid and charming.

Almost 50 years since this album and they definitely started a generational trend. They put punk on the map and this album shows just how ahead of their time they were.

From the first track, "Blitzkrieg Bop," it's apparent that the Ramones are content to stick to a single formula: fast, distorted power chords, simple drum beats, and repetitive vocals. While punk rock is known for its raw energy and straightforwardness, this album takes it to an extreme that ultimately becomes grating. I have heard this song many times, sure it's a bit catchy. Certainly nothing extraordinary. The lack of musical variety throughout the album is astonishingly evident. Each song seems to blend into the next, making it difficult to distinguish one track from another. This homogeneity of sound quickly becomes a flaw. As the album fails to engage the listener beyond the first couple of tracks. The lyrics on this album are a total disappointment. While punk often deal with themes of rebellion, socio-political commentary, or personal expression. The lyrics here rarely go beyond surface level phrases. Tracks like "Beat on the Brat" and "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue" come off as banal shock value attempts, lacking any substantial message. Even when the band attempts to tackle more serious topics, like in "53rd & 3rd," the lyrics remain disappointingly vague and fail to evoke any real emotion. The album is a one-dimensional letdown that lacks the depth and variety necessary to make it a truly engaging piece. While it may have had an impact on the punk rock movement, its lasting influence is more a testament to the band's marketing and branding than the actual musical content. The album ultimately lacks the raw emotion that many other punk albums have, with not much to make up for it.

I got halfway through this album before I realized it wasnt one just long song.
If you gave me 2 hours, I could recreate any single track from this album. In fact, if you gave me a week, I could probably recreate this whole album. And I’ve never played an instrument. And guess what? That’s exactly how long it took The Ramones to produce this album. It amazes me how much of this album I hear in modern-day punk bands, as if the members of the genre never learned different drum patterns exist or bothered to explore the genre beyond its barebones roots. Having said that, I don’t necessarily think this album is unlistenable, it’s just flavorless. Every song sounds so similar that none stood out except for the opening track because I’ve heard it through radio play countless times. The every song on the record opens with the same basic premise and most have that same simplistic backing drum track. I guess you can say that all have different lyrics but none really resonated with me to the point where I could identify it as a different track from the last. In a recent review of the new Burger King Italian Chicken Sandwich, food critic ReviewBrah said this “All the ingredients are here, so I don’t understand how it can be possible for this to just taste like nothing. 7.5/10 Overall I see the ramones as a barebones punk album. I like it, individually most songs are fun and have good vibes. As an album this album really lacks, it’s a very simple formula for most of the songs here. I wish there was a little more feeling than just being punk because you’re bored. There’s no really reason they explain this feeling other than boredom. The album feels like they made it for the idea of how it would sound and not because it resinates with them. Notes got deleted before I saved fuck… First 3 songs are sick. I wanna be your boyfriend is eh I don’t think these simple love songs work with this band. Chain saw -I’m at a weird mix for this song, the chainsaw sample is sick but it still feels pretty forgettable. Now I wanna sniff some glue - this shit is peak punk honestly. If you were to give me the most raw punk it’s for sure screaming kids want to sniff glue.

This is hard to evaluate. At the same time, it is a timeless album and a very dated collection of songs. In 2023 I can't rate it with five stars, but its importance for the music history and my emotional link with some of these songs ensure the four stars without much effort.

very boring unfortunately, "blitzkrieg bop" brought back very old memories of it getting played a bunch on the car radio so nostalgia places that song a peg above the rest of them. however they are all extremely similar and boring, and i'm glad punk rock got much better than this.

So I'm a big fan, and to put a personal story in here, my daughter was taking classes at School of Rock and the unit was Ramones. I was thrilled. She shared the setlist with me, and I scoffed, and said "What? No 'Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue' or 'I Wanna Be Sedated'? Lame!" She brought it up to the musical coordinator and corrections were made... I think this is my first five rating (about 30-35 albums in) and that seems about right to me.

I don't even need to listen (again), as I still listen to the Ramones on occasion. This album is historical in the sense that it solidifies the birth of Punk - and their seminal role in creating the sound & culture of Punk Music - but to get the full flavor of their music, I highly recommend their compilation album, "Ramones Mania". Punk brilliance without artifice or indulgence.

Blitzkrieg Bop is such a great song. Unfortunately the rest of the album kind of felt like 13 versions of the same song. Maybe I need to spend a bit more time with this release but I can say it has aged well.
Fantastic pop punk, although wikipedia tells me that technically pop punk came a lot later and this was just a huge influence on it. I feel like about half the tracks are deeply familiar, but the other half not so much, so maybe I've listened to a best of collection a bunch before? Fave tracks - "Blitzkreig Bop", "Beat on the Brat" and "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" are all absolutely iconic. "Listen To My Heart" made me light up due to its use as the "AP Bio" theme music. And of the tracks I wasn't super familiar with already, "Havana Affair" was excellent!

Heerlijk gitaargeluid (2016 remaster op Spotify, dat helpt wellicht). Ik ben niet kapot van de zang (met als dieptepunt '53rd & 3rd'), maar je krijgt wat je verwacht. Ik geef 5 sterren op een manier zoals ik 2 à 3 keer per jaar een medium McChicken-menu met fritessaus en een cola ook 5 sterren vind.
this is a classic punk album with simple, solid, short tracks that holds up pretty well half a century later. a lot of these songs have been covered to hell and back so in some cases I'm more familiar with those versions. as a result, some of the tracks here feel a bit stripped-down and basic all these years later, but that might just be from changing sensibilities in popular music. good album though. favorites: havana affair, 53rd & 3rd, blitzkrieg bop, beat on the brat
The Ramones are the backbone of probably hundreds of bands that came after them. The look, the sound, the attitude... it's rock and roll in it's purest, most anarchic form, served up with a smirk. As debut albums go, this one is top notch, 29 minutes of energy and attitude that is also just a lot of fun to listen to. A few of the middle tracks are less compelling than the others, but as a complete work, this album is beyond excellent. It takes some kind of mad genius to take a dash of the brightness and melodicism of early 1960s pop and marry it with the noise and grit of the Stooges and the MC5. That's exactly what's so much fun about the Ramones. It's a crisp, no nonsense sound, full of buzzsaw guitars, punchy beats and catchy hooks. Joey Ramone serves up his vocals with pissy boredom and humor, occasionally shouty and sometimes even laced with surprising moments of sweetness. The band doesn't take themselves particularly seriously, which makes them really engaging and likeable. So after the first track you realise the whole album is the same track played with very little variation and other numb lyrics. They play with raw energy and manage to pull off a couple of rocking beats, but as an album it's not great. Dare I sat the Ramones were always over hyped.

I get it, but I don't get it. Some catchy songs but they all start sounding the same. I understand at the time this album blowing minds but I've heard so many rip offs and copycats it's kind ruined the whole buzz of this album.

Gotta love a record that comes in, gets you pumping for half an hour, and then just stops. But that half hour is joyful, reckless, and energetic - peak punk music if you ask me! Do the songs sound the same? Yeah sure, but why mess with a formula that works so well, right?

I'll be completely honest here, I always assumed Ramones were from the UK... turns out my whole life is a lie. I understand Ramones were an important group to the US Punk scene and they certainly have established themselves as one of the better remembered acts from this era. That said, a lot of this particular style of punk doesn't hold much appeal to me. It comes out sounding kind of all a wall of sound without much variation with a few notable exceptions: Blitzkrieg Bop and Beat on the Brat are a great one-two start to the album. Both well written songs in their own right. I also enjoyed the closing two tracks and how they bled together. Fine enough album, but not something I'd listen to of my own accord again. 3 / 5.
Some good hits, classic sound
Here in the UK, boring appliance company AO has vampirically suckered on to Blitzkrieg Bop for its own capitalist means. I guess the logo t-shirt royalties were going to run out eventually. But the impressive thing is that none of this can deflate this album, which deftly blasts you with perfectly formed punk pop gems like a faulty hairdryer. Let's go!

I feel like I listened to the same bland, cringy song 14 times. I really didn’t like it.
I'd like to thank this album for bringing punk into the mainstream and setting the foundation. It's perfect in so many ways, yet I can't get past the fact that almost every song has the exact same BPM (170-180). However, they did line up the slower songs well - 135 on 4th and 11th songs, 160 on 2nd and 13th - to make things cohesive. Which again, makes it perfect in a way. I don't know how to describe it, but there's something lacking. Maybe it's some lyrical diversity? That's not what punk is about though. I'm confused now. All I can say is that I was not underwhelmed or overwhelmed, just whelmed.
Super fun listen, nothing crazy special about it warranting more than a 3 but enjoyable nonetheless

1. Blitzkrieg bop- recognised this one, very catchy, however i do find it a tad bit annoying 5/10 2. Beat on the brat- like the guitar, nice rhythm, however the lyrics were a bit confusing, nice vocals, liked when the beat got faster (liked the song) 6/10 3. Judy is a punk- favourite ramones song, very catchy, love the lyrics wish it was a bit longer though (added to playlist) 9/10 4. I wanna be your boyfriend- nice beat, loved the vocals, however was a bit slow, lyrics seemed a bit repetitive, loved the backing vocals. However got a bit bored after a while 4/10 5. Chain saw- annoying start with the chain saw effect, nice bass, nice vocals, nice guitar, i did enjoy this one (liked the song) 6.5/10 6. Still fun, suffers from progenitor syndrome where I have heard so much that was inspired by the band that they seem more straightforward than they were in their time.
The songs are all short, but are all so similar that you could blend them all together and not even notice anything was different. The Nazism references are really weird and off putting - which is a shame because that last song starts to finally show some variation.
Simple, pretty fun. Ballroom Blitz is overplayed to death but it's still fun.

Fast, hard, angry and stupid - what a great album. Really a breath of fresh air when it came out. Used to see these guys live at CBGB when I was 16.

Great album. Classic. But realistically not five stars
This album designates the Ramone's signature sound, fundamental punk rock, nothing fancy. While I enjoyed the listen, all of the songs started meshing. I enjoyed it, but I wish there were more originality instead of doing one sound well 14 times.
Perfect punk album
Simple and raw. And the good thing is that if you don't like a song, no worries, it will be over in less than two minutes. "...Basement", and "Loudmouth", surprisingly, actually have some structure and chord progression. The rest of the tracks are indistinguishable from each other. However....see my two minute observation.

A quick and energetic rush of an album. Blitzkrieg Bop is as excellent now as the first time I heard it. However, for as energetic it is, the album never seems all that varied. Dare I say it all gets a bit repetitive? But it's a short album and doesn't overstay its welcome. All the songs were good though, just an album that's best scattered through a playlist. J'ai toujours trouvé que Ramones était overrated et cet album vient le confirmer. Les instrumentations sont très bonnes et le côté très cru de l'album est excellent, mais compositionnellement c'est tellement similaire d'une pièce à l'autre. Aussi, les chants de Joey sont très répétitifs et tellement peu intéressant. Je prendrais un album des Stooges n'importe quand avant un Ramone. 5/10
