music is so interesting!
Lame
Omg 2 duds in one week fore
Best Song: Tuesday's Gone Worst Song: Simple Man Added: 3/13
Did not like at all
They will not get royalties from me.
Unfortunately the great musicianship on this record is completely flawed by what this group stood for at the time. I can't help the political things immediately coming to mind when listening. Freebird is such a great song, but I simply cannot listen to it without thinking of hateful societies. A shame.
Over-rated
Not for me
Those songs are the most overplayed songs on Classic Rock radio stations. I really don’t want to hear them ever again. FREE BIRD SUCKS!!!!!
A steaming hot turd if ever there was one
I wish I could give this horrid proto bro country garbage a zero and erase it from history
no es mi estilo
This did absolutely nothing for me. Perhaps if I could hear it without the baggage of being pub-rock influencers it would get another star
Lol
like the happy gilmore riff
Skynard fucking blows.
I think I'm allergic.
Records like this are why I gave up on my initial attempt to listen to all of the albums in this list in chronological order when I reached the mid-70s
There is no questioning this band’s status in the rock music community , the success that they achieved, the inspiration they gave..but it passed me by and even now I revisit it with a more musically open (& educated?) mind (or ears??) but cannot engage wit it, like it or appreciate it, sorry it’s not you it’s me (maybe)
It’s okay.
I was brainwashed to like the songs as a teenager, I still think Freebird is hard to turn off, yeh not my cuppa tea
Eh
No. Just no. There are two songs on here that I could tolerate on the car radio if I were driving through the actual Alabama for a bit of 'local color' if on a vacation in the US' southeast, which in 2024 you'd have to pay me for. The better one of those is a meme on Youtube. At #120, the most boring and just unattractive entry in 70ies rock so far.
I bleed...
White guy southern rock isn’t my thing.
No thank you
I'm at a loss for how to rate music by people that are demonstratively shitty. This is gonna keep happening with this list and I go back and forth each time. Great music for a Klan rally, I guess? 1.
Although this should be up my alley, I could never get into Skynyrd. Apart from Sweet Home Alabama, their stuff always feels a bit heavy-footed. The ‘blue collar’ lyrics feel like a schtick. For example Simple Man - a song about the homespun advice of a mother, telling her son to live a modest life… all set to thunderous , legs apart bombastic rock chords. Seems contradictory. Compare that to Salt of The Earth by The Stones where a similar theme is backed a more folksy, stripped back arrangement. Freebird is similarly ponderous navel-gazing strewn with interminable distorted guitar solos. There’s no interplay, it’s just three lead guitarists taking turns to try and out-wank each other. Gimme Three Steps is reasonable because they tone it down a bit, but the lyrics are so bad (“Hey there fella with the hair coloured yella”) that even a simple boogie tune gets annoying. I pretty much hate this.
enjoyed a fair few riffs especially “gimme three steps” but sounds sooo dated and corny overall.
No thanks.
0 Estrellas no 1
Kai tää on ihan solidia kamaa, mutten vaan jaksa kiinnostua
Won't listen to this racist band
orka kje høyra meir enn 2 songa sorry
Landed up just skipping though all the songs. I'm partial to 70s music but this ain't for me
Rock un peu country. Bon guitariste Chanteur avec une voix caractéristique. Du whiskey dans toutes les tounes. Pas très original.
Not sure an album about hard-drinking, gun-toting Americans is reading the room well right now. This album had no redeeming features for me and I really hope I never hear any of these songs again.
Nope
Not my style
No esta sweet home alabama!
nope
Unfortunately I really just am not a fan of the "rock sound" right now, couldn't make it through the album - due to time restraints and just because i was so unbearably bored. Not a fault of the album, just my own personal taste. Will not revisit.
