Reviews (page 3 of 13)
So many damn bangers on this album (Milk in particular is an unsung classic imo). I'm definitely a little biased from nostalgia since this is an album from my childhood, but I still don't want to rate this anything else. 4.5 rounded up because 🤘
That was good! Never heard them but really enjoyed as each song was different…
My lover's charms Are in a box Beneath my bed And piece by piece I'll cherish them Until the end Send me an angel to love I need to feel a little piece of heaven Send me an angel to love I'm afraid I'll never get to heaven They burn my hand Scar my face And blind my eyes I'll steal your breath And throw away What I despise Send me an angel to love I need to feel a little piece of heaven Send me an angel to love I'm afraid I'll never get to heaven Good stuff. 5/5
As good as I remember.
Great classic !
Great album, had forgotten about it over the years. But it’s a classic through-and-through!
Wow. Killer grunge with catchy elements of pop. It’s too bad Garbage was overshadowed by the rest of grunge because they deserve to be in the tiers with Alice In Chains, Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
Top album! Paar heerlijke nummertjes
the 90’s was an era of female singers… they were all over the place. alanis, gwen stefani, jewel, liz phair, fiona apple. it was the era of the riot grrrl scene, with acts like hole, L7, bikini kill. there was one female singer that stood out to me, and that singer was shirley manson. with bright red dyed hair and a smooth voice, she was equal parts seduction and attitude. i love garbage and i love this album. quality from start to finish. and they still bring it live. highlights: “queer”, “only happy when it rains”, “vow”, “stupid girl”.
banger after banger, grunge QUEEN, queer, very happy to skip peter gabriel for this
Unerwarter Hammer! Zu Beginn düster, depressiv, gothicish... viel verzerrt, typischer 90s Sound. Gefühlte Kathrasis in der späten Mitte des Albums und auf einmal ganz andere Emotionen... großes Kino!
I remember this band during 90's alt rock time. I never listened to them then. Glad I'm hearing it now.
The hour and a half went by like nothing, it was very enjoyable
Amazing album! I only started listening to this a few days ago In June, but those days have been fantastically soundtracked. Excellent melodie’s and riffs.
One of my favorite albums
A real surprise because never heard of this band or album before! Got a Smashing puking meets No Doubt vibe (thank you Brandon for that one)! Best song for me off the album was Queer!
"This is Garbage!" is what anyone would exclaim upon hearing the shortest snippet of this instantly recognizable band. I don't even know how to describe their music except to say that they sound like they'd make a great James Bond theme, which of course, they did. When this album came out, it sounded very edgy and very new, while still being something you could dance to. It still sounds great, and now I want to listen to more Garbage.
I’m not sure why this band wasn’t more on my radar back when this album came out. From the singles that I knew of, I don’t know why I wouldn’t have wanted to at least seem like a fan…you know, to impress the kool kidz… I was missing out because this is good stuff.
Another 90s band that I was too busy to pay attention to at the time. This album kicks ass!
I started listening to Garbage in 1998 when they released Version 2.0. I loved it so much and soon thereafter added this to the rotation. One of my favorite bands of that time. Listening to Garbage is as badass as I’ll likely ever get.
who dont love this band and the lead singer is smoking hot!
I have a fond memory of this album. Was on a camping trip with a friend and his family in the days of the discman, so obviously I had some CDs with me. His older, then like teenage sister spotted this one in my case and we listened to it and hung out for a bit. Reinforced that I was into cool shit since she was super alt at the time.
Garbage is good. I love that ska alt style
Great Album! Love the grunge sound and the industrial noises used kinda like Nine Inch Nails.
Like meeting up with a dear friend I haven't seen in 20 years. 'Vow' was my angsty pre-teen anthem.
really liked it, punky alt classic rock
Claus 90s. A little overproduced. But basically perfect for it's time.
Feels like pop music put through a grunge or industrial filter. Works surprisingly well, but that's probably because it's carried hard by the gorgeous production and the absolutely phenomenal vocals. I'd probably call it a 4.5 if I was being nuanced, but I was surprised just how much I enjoyed this record. Favorite tracks: "Queer", "Only Happy When It Rains", "Not My Idea"
Good Album
wait I thought people were like somehow embarrassed by Garbage, but this actually owns
this fucks i love all the song s
10/10
Milk y stupid girl. La pura nostalgia noventera. Tenía el KCT
Was really good, 5/5
It's surprisingly dark and noisy and that's a compliment. It was supposed to be 4 but the more I listen the more I like it
Garbage rocks!
A perfect piece of ‘90s alternative rock and among the best that decade has to offer. Shirley Manson is full voiced and fierce and the band behind her more than up to the task of matching her kinetic energy.
Serious 90s nostalgia! Love it!
I mean. It's a fantastic album. So. Much. Angst.
Hacía mucho tiempo que no lo oia, y me ha traído buenos recuerdos
stuuuuupid giiiiirrrrl
I think this album was innovative in the sound and recording style, as it mixed a lot of styles together. Some really good rock songs on this album and I think this is an album that must be heard just for the sound and the fact there are some great songs. Garbage is an underrated band in how many hits they had and the techno-rock/pop sound.
This is an easy 5 stars for me. This album is great from start to finish.
Rock met toch wat pop vermengd. Top frontvrouw en zalig album
LOVED THIS. Want I return to it and also check out their other stuff.
So much better than anything Courtney Love or Hole ever did. But the media didn't throw hosannas at Shirley Manson, and saved them all for Courtney for whatever reason. This album is begging to be rediscovered. Maybe the comparison to Love and Hole isn't appropriate. The more apt link is to Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders.
Fav songs: - Supervixen - Queer - Only Happy When It Rains - As Heaven Is Wide - A Stroke Of Luck - Stupid Girl - Milk
Good. I would listen to this again
havent rated in an album in literal ages but just saw i got this one and had to rate it its like a 9.5 this album is incredible
A classic album. 'Only Happy When it Rains' is what got me into Garbage and girl grunge in the first place, so of course this is going to be a five star listen. The best part is that it isn't just the only good song on the album. Start to finish, this album is full of bangers. 'Queer' is delightfully strange, 'Stupid Girl,' 'Vow,' and 'Not My Idea' rock, and everything else from beginning to end is just as engrossing and bewitching. I don't know what I expected the first time I picked up 'Garbage,' but it wasn't such a pure gem of an album.
Shoegaze and grunge guitar with trip hop beats leaning on the darker synth textures of 80s British alternative (Depeche Mode, new order) . A wonderful synthesis of the nineties. Totally holds up. It pulls on the attributes from contemporary and past music while clearly delineating a path to 2000s alternative, a really great album to hear.
Supervixen, queer, only happy when it rains is one of the best three song opening rushes that I’ve herd in a while. The rest of the album is green though really unique sounding on an instrumental level ( singing is great too but the 90’s was like the decade of amazing singers so Manson fairs quite low in my personal ranking ). Other personal favourites include: as heaven is wide, not my idea, a stroke of luck, vow, stupid girl, dog new tricks,my lovers box,fix me now, milk. Oh that’s all of them well I guess it’s a 5 then!!!
Love!

Bad ass!
One of my all-time favourites. Glad to listen to it again after a while
Wonderful album
Fuck yeah.
Every song on this album is good. Such an amazing debut. Everyone should have this in their collection.
One of my favourite albums.
A 90's classic. Solid throughout and still sounds great 30ish years later.
Since my teenage years, I've had a fascination with Shirley Manson, and Garbage by extension of that. Her look and her voice are dark, haunting, edgy, and captivating, and I'm just an absolute sucker for that, along with the expected 90s alt-rock sound. That said, I really only knew their hits going into this, so I was excited for the full listen opportunity here. I am always impressed when a debut album from a band can leave such a mark, and this self-titled debut does just that. Several 90s anthems come from this album, not the least of which is "Only Happy When It Rains", which has been featured, used, or alluded to in so many things where that signature 90s edge is required. There are aspects of industrial, dance, and trance mixed in on this album, which keep things fresh and interesting. It manages to do this while still staying true to its alternative, post-grungy core. This album is full of bangers and hits, and even the tracks that are less so drew me in and had me very interested and enjoying the experience. Either way, I didn't find a single filler track. When the album finished playing, I turned around and immediately listened to it a second time, and honestly, I can't wait to listen to it again.
Total surprise but loved this.
Hot damn. What sn album. It's pop, it's industrial, it's perfect. I love the bendy blending of guitar and vocals.
This is an absolute top album for me. Didn't discover Garbage until the end of the 90s so I hadn't heard this album much.
Stimulating and moody at the same time, this is captivating indie/pop/rock with good vocals from Shirley Manson, brazen lyrics, some interesting sound effects, backwards guitar (plus some odd pauses in the middle a song). Tracks like 'As Heaven is Wide', 'A Stroke of Luck' and 'Dog New Tricks' have a woozy, discordant psychedelic edge and these are the more satisfying tracks. 'Stupid Girl' is the monster hit that any 90's teen will recognize. All in all, it's a worthwhile effort that neatly sums up all that was good about guitar based alternative/rock in the mid nineties.
Classic that instantly takes me back to being a student
Great sound.
I was very surprised by the quality of this record. It has a very interesting sound, and reading into the production really showed how great this band is. Their style is grunge, but stands out from the rest of the pack with their interesting and unique sounds, and sampling production. Hearing some of these foreign sounds puts you in the space they want you to be in, then they hit you with a crunchy guitar and a wall of sound. Pretty great stuff.
A greatly innovative album, awesome tunes through out
Amazing album. Slightly uneven around the "no my idea" mark, but finishes strong with an impressive number of just banger tracks. Holds up well 27 years later.
Fantastic 90s rock album
Rock gay, amei
I’m only happy when it rains
I fell in love to this album in highschool. Tiffany, the lead singer, and thinking for myself.
Such a classic, hard hitting 90s sound. Feels very emblematic of its era without feeling dated. The vocals are just sex.
One of the key britpop albums - loooove it
Solid 90s
Good rock album!
kinda diverse, kinda different i like it alot hard to describe what it is though
Эстетика попадает в меня по полной. Very decent.
Quality album
Some jerk said this one is better than Suede, but I don't get what he's basing that comparison on. A fucking idiot.
You know, normally I'd feel bad for calling an album "garbage," but this album and band are literally called Garbage, so I can just say "This is Garbage!" and have it literally be a fact instead of an insult. But would I insult album by calling it garbage anyway? No, not at all! I actually really liked this album. This is one of those albums that demonstrates why 90s alternative was such a unique landscape. This is definitely an alt-rock album, but there are enough elements from genres like trip-hop and power pop to allow the album to stand out from its contemporaries in some pretty cool ways. I think Shirley Manson's a good frontwoman. Her performance is relaxed throughout the album, but not enough to make her sound disinterested. The music is really cool. Again, I like the variety here. The writing is pretty good too. I really liked songs like "Only Happy When It Rains" and "Stupid Girl." Despite being about 50 minutes in length, the album didn't overstay its welcome whatsoever. This is a pretty cool album. It's very unique and I appreciate it for that. Good stuff. 4/5.
This is an album I liked very much when it came out. I was initially intrigued by the Butch Vig aspect of things as I loved many of the albums he'd produced. And then I heard I'm Only Happy When It Rains and I was all in on Shirley Manson and the rest of the band's sound. I was excited to listen today, and I hoped that I'd feel the same as I did back in the mid 90's. And I was. I did think it was a bit dated (with that mid 90's sound), but I also liked how it differed from some of the other rock music of the time musically. And yes, Shirley Manson was the bomb. Standout songs were IOHWIR, Queer, A Stroke of Luck, Vow, and Milk, but there's not a bad song on the record.
de primera escucha muy bueno. album 100% de auriculares con un ambiente tremendo en cada canción. es un rock alternativo muy alternativo pero que funciona re bien y es re contra recomendable. aprobadazo puntos altos: A Stroke of Luck - Not My Idea - Vow - Queer - My Lover's Box
Interesting. Better than expected. Easy to listen to the whole album. 3,5/5.
Really liked it. I'd need to listen again/more to give it an accurate rating but for now I'll stick it at 4.
REALLY pleasant listen, I was surprised.
This album has aged better than I expected. I think I actually appreciate it more now than I did originally, especially being able to recognize how many different genres they blended together. It’s also one of those very distinct ‘90s albums where you see the cover and immediately know exactly what kind of experience you’re stepping into. The production, the attitude, the mix of alt-rock, electronic elements, and pop sensibility. It all feels very of its time, but in a way that still works. Most of this album is strong, and it holds together well as a full listen. I do think they could’ve opened with a stronger track, but that’s a minor complaint in the grand scheme of it. Overall, this is a really good record.
Shirley Manson is the 90s alt queen!
The man behind polishing Cobain's pop punk, Butch Vig. Personally, as a fan of both artists, he hit lightning in a bottle twice. Part of that is sex appeal. Other part is knowing what hits right. Vig knows that. He added that poppy electronica sound with some angsty, gothy, lovelyness that is Shirley Manson. What can I say? I love Garbage.
Never listened to Garbage on purpose (Pun intended), let alone a whole album. Well, I quite enjoyed it.
Pleasantly surprised by one. Strong alt rock songs. Can hear where the likes of paramore might have drawn inspiration from.
really interesting exploration of the no longer so alternative sound of the nineties a mix of dirty riffs, rhythms with electronic influences and industrial textures contrasted with pop melodies and catchy choruses there are moments where the band really seems to be trying to explore its own identity, and others where you find good songs that could have been recorded by any other band of the time a work with a lot of personality that scratches my musical itch.
Really good debut with some strong tracks..very enjoyable
Just what the doctor ordered
GOAT GRUNGE
Great! 4 stars
Probably my favorite female rocker. Lots of variety and like the blend of alt rock and electronic. Few songs didn’t connect for me but overall a great album.
You know what, this slapped. Can’t believe they’re not in the zeitgeist more. 4.5 stars
Didn’t pay too much attention to this when it came out. I was missing out.
great grooves for a "shoegaze" record
A very solid album, really liked it. I was between a 3 and a 4. Favorite track(s) Supervixen Only Happy When It Rains A Stroke of Luck
this was great! listened to it on the tube home and i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed it i think i recognised maybe one song ? but i can’t remember which lol either way! good bit of rock(?) music, always love a female artist - i’m biased what can i say
I kind of loved this. I'll be back to listen again for sure. It's interesting to feel such a contrast in my feelings towards this after the last two albums I couldn't really get into at all. I can't quite put my finger on what's different and better here, is it just that we've finally had a female artist? There's emotional clarity in the lyrics and music maybe, I feel at the end of the album like I understand something about the people who created it. There are some genuine catchy hooks and bangers on here. The trip hoppy vibes mixed with distorted punky guitars and moody vocal performance are just up my street. Whole thing feels full and vibrant and I had a good time listening, the second listen being more of a "going back for more" rather than "giving it another chance" situation. Standouts: As Heaven is Wide, Queer, Milk
I know and love the hits, but have never listened to Garbage before. Nice, varied record.
Thank god. This is good. A much needed palate cleanser after feeling gross reading about Axl Rose. Did I know Shirley Manson was from Edinburgh? Perhaps at some point. Loved her Key Change episode. She talks about Garbage forming the day Kurt Cobain died, and connecting with the others over Siouxsie and the Banshees. “Pour your misery down on me” 💀
Solid 90s rock female lead vocals
i enjoy a loooot
i love when women rock out
Very unique sound for the time, to my knowledge at least. Good mix of electo and alternative. The first half is better than the second, but half 2 isn't bad at all. Highlights-Supervixen, Queer, Only Happy When It Rains, As Heaven is Wide, Not My Idea, Stupid Girl, and Milk.
I liked those more than I expected, and the lead singers vocals were awesome. I really love the way the first song’s melody drops off for a half second before continuing, that was really cool. Some slower and less memorable songs throughout there, but the highlights are really good.
Well I’ll be fucked. I liked garbage by garbage. I truly despise alternative 90s rock so I’m not sure what happened here. Might be the lean into that girl power pop sound? Lyrics are too edgy for me but I’m so surprised that we’ll round up
INPUT = {"artist": "Garbage", "album": "Garbage"} LINEUP = {"men": 3, "women": 1} FEATURED_ARTISTS = {"men": 0, "women": 0} TOTAL_MEN = 3 TOTAL_WOMEN = 1 WOMEN_PERCENTAGE = 25 OUTPUT = "Score adjusted accordingly. 4/5"
Had only heard the singles, but this was really good! It has a vibe and a mood and I like it
Opener at my first concert. Pretty good.
See now this is what I'd prefer over something like Sonic Youth. Definitely in the same genre but more melodic and I can relate to the themes more.
I Think I'm Paranoid went triple platinum in my house due to Rock Band. Otherwise I only had a passing knowledge of Garbage. But this is great! Wish I'd checked them out sooner.
Another hidden gem discovered among all the albums! I had zero expectations going into this and came out very surprised at how much I liked the album. This felt like an iteration of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's in a way. The guitar is killer and the production of the songs scratches my ear. The vibe is well curated and executed. Favorite tracks: Queer Vow A Stroke of Luck Stupid Girl My Lover's Box
supervixen: i love grunge, so this is right up my alley! though, i wasn’t super fond of it initially, i LOVE the pauses and the refrain, “bow down to me”. i think it beautifully straddles grunge and a more poppy sound. queer: SO FUN! “the queerest of the queer, the lamest of the lame”, damn. i don’t exactly know what this is about, and so the fact that it’s up for interpretation makes it so much more interesting! a son who comes out to the father/parent in a brothel? prostitution for possible conversion? weirdness and out of the norm? only happy when it rains: sounds like how i would expect music from the 90s to sound like, but it’s still enjoyable. the guitar solos are choppy and chaotic. cool lyrics, “i only smile in the dark.” as heaven is wide: ooh, i wasn’t expecting that intro. easily a favourite from all that i have heard yet, i like the industrial atmospheric spookiness. also, it’s a scary sounding song, especially towards the end. not my idea: what an intro! a song that i would definitely use on my stories, “this is not my idea of a good time.” it’s anthemic and the “do-do-do…” is v impactful. a stroke of luck: ooh, goes deep and the elements are interesting. v spooky and futuristic sounding, but in a basement with pipes and water and clinical white lights. i like how it fades out. vow: the intro overstimulated me and i could barely hear her, but this sounds more grunge and punk. “i can’t use what i can’t abuse” is such a killer lyric. i can feel the frustration and the desire for vengeance, but it’s not necessarily violent. i like the joan of arc and jesus christ references. stupid girl: DAMN, i feel called out and how. joe strummer songwriting credit? train vain by the clash? orange crush by rem? LOVE THIS SONG. dog new tricks: what are these lyrics: so so so so god. reminds me of a boygenius song or somebody from that band? the name of the song? the “everyone i know has gone away, died or left, or just forgot to stay…” my lover’s box: ehh, not my favourite musically? v cool lyrics though, i just watched city of angels, and they could have played this from meg ryan’s pov. fix me now: i can hear the rawness and the desperation and the sass, i think that’s hard to do and really cool. v badass. “catch me on a better day.” milk: i see why massive attack made a remix, it’s the perfect OG song. amazing lyrics, v descriptive and evocative. the “i’m waiting, i’m waiting, i’m waiting for you…” is so haunting, especially because she says, “i’m aching for you”. overall: fun, v nice grungey pop album which sounds like the 90s, might not be as relevant as hole or l7, but i still like it! crazy stuff for a debut album + v emblematic of its time. great lyrics. there’s a longer remaster album with more songs, i heard the 20 years celebratory 2015 remaster with 12 songs. need to hear the massive attack remix of milk. and need to read more about them! so cool overall, because i had never heard of this band let alone the album, and i found out something new today! LOVELY.
3.5 some banger ass songs but the popular ones were the worst lwk
This was a staple in the late nineties. I forgot how good it was. Absolutely no Garbage here.
Olipa hyvä albumi, tykkäsin. Hyvää poprockia
Jeesus mitä bängereitä listalla. Only happy when it rains on aivan tajuton kappale. Erinomaista musiikkia. Erittäin vahva 4/5
LOVE ITTT YEAHGH, didnt think i would like this, but surprisingly being half conscious and listening to this feels realll good so yup
p753. 1995. 4 stars Quality 90s rock, packed with quality songs, only let down by occasional filler. What's not to like?
This is certainly not garbage. It’s actually really bloody good. I’m a huge fan of the 90s alternative/grunge style here, and the production on this record is super impactful & well designed. It creates a haunting atmosphere that adds weight & depth to the songwriting. The hits & catchier songs are fantastic too. It definitely has 2-3 songs that fade into the background slightly, but overall this is a very strong album.
Klasse album.
A more pop oriented alternative rock album; Not as loud as some of the alt rock bands of the time, but more accessible; The kind of album that you can play without skipping any tracks.
- really vibing with the first song - we love to,see women in rock bands! - i'm not paying a lot of attention to the lyrics but i'm really enjoying the melodies and the vibes - 7.5/10
I recognized Only Happy When it Rains which still holds up. I also enjoyed Queer and Vow.
Very nice, listened under a heavy sky
I actually like this on a lot

Un groupe qui porte (vraiment) mal son nom Playlist pick : Stupid Girl
Love this album
I was born in the late 80’s, so this is what I think of when I think of cool music. I hate that it sounds dated, because 13 year old me would have called it cutting edge.
I don't know why I never went back to Garbage. I love a female 90s grunge vocal and I did not appreciate this enough until now. Loved it
That was fun!
Really solid album. Never really paid much attention to Garbage but will definitely come back.
8/10
Women in STEM is great, but women in rock? This is what our economy needed to kickstart us all on our sad commutes to work. Shirley Manson’s breathless effortless lyrics on some classic songs like Stupid Girl, Queer and Only Happy When it Rains remind you that a woman does not need to scream to provide the perfect vocals to a catchy rock album. There’s some semblance of the Cardigans in the guitar and bass, kooky and dark at times but still melodic. I enjoyed As Heaven is Wide, Not my Idea, Vow and My Lover’s Box in particular, and will definitely be coming back to this album and more of Garbage’s work.
I've been listening to stuff like this independently for the past few months so this hit pretty good
Some bangers here Fave track: Stupid Girl
Very misleading Artist and Album name. 4.5/5
There's a fair amount of 90s alternative rock I like, but a lot of it can feel like a slog to get through. Here, Garbage comes through with one of the most fun takes on the genre I've ever heard. They take the standard heavy guitars and snarling angst typical of the decade and make it dance-floor ready through fuzzy guitar feedback, delirious electronic effects, and driving drum beats. The drums in particular give this album a real sense of motion that makes it such a joy to listen to. I really appreciated the variety of moods that Garbage brings to the table, from the more angry tracks like As Heaven is Wide, to upbeat bangers like Stupid Girl, to lowkey, almost trip-hop adjacent cuts like Milk. Shirley Manson is an excellent vocalist, bringing a palpable simmering anger to the table that still retains the fun of the instrumentation. Her lyrics are very blunt, but that bluntness serves the tone of the album really well. This was one of the biggest surprises on this list so far, given I hadn't heard of this band before, but it won me over in a big way.
I never really got the appeal of grunge but there is so much great music that clearly followed in its wake. I feel like 'post-grunge' seems to have been applied too unimaginatively to very cookie-cutter alt rock acts when the likes of Garbage took it into interesting new territory. Took the grunge sound and augmented it with electronica, more up-front vocals and a wider musical palette. I listened to this A LOT in my teenage years but haven't heard 80% of it in decades (Stupid Girl and Only Happy... have a habit of turning up from time to time even today) and it was a really welcome jaunt down memory lane. I also enjoyed busting out the follow-up but I think they lost their way a bit after that.
4.5
The singles from this album were in heavy rotation on the local rock station so most of this album was already familiar to me. I enjoy Shirley Manson's vocals and the whole band feels cohesive. It was fun to revisit the tracks I knew and hear the ones that were new.
Garbage is a band I had always heard about, but never really heard (except the briefly-popular "Only Happy When It Rains"). It's not quite what I expected, but I like it. "Queer" and "Not My Idea" are catchy. Overall it has a bit of a Vampire: The Masquerade club scene vibe, but not in the annoying way that a lot of that music has. A pleasant surprise.
I like them, never listened for some reason Will I listen to again: 80%
Range within one album is insane. From shoegaze to pop rock and disco to grunge-one collection had it all. Incredible work
Feels like my youth. Love this album.
Enkele klassiekers
Mega vet, leuke ontdekking
Title is false advertisement 1/5 There’s some bangers on here, Only Happy When It Rains is great and pokes fun at the trend of the angsty whiny lyrics that started getting popular around this time, which I loathe lol. I really like the singer’s vocals, I think she does a great job putting energy into songs while not being too over the top (taking another shot at Sonic Youth). Those guitar parts are also pretty incredible, love the sound of some of those instrumental parts and how they’re tuned There’s a couple songs in here that I didnt really like at all, I think some songs are just a bit too messy for my taste. Everyone once in a while they’ll be a sequence that’s just a little hard on the ears; while not skipworthy or anything it does bring it down a tad. Also there’s a couple of songs that don’t sound bad but are just kinda boring (not a fan of that last song) Either way this one continues a really strong run from 1001, another album that I would almost certainly not have listened to without this list but is without a doubt a signature staple of the 90s
If I was a lesbian in high school I would blast this all the time
Based on my limited knowledge of music, I think this album represented a turn in alternative rock, where it took a more poppy, dance-rock direction. I thought from the band that they'd be more grunge/punk, but I found myself head bopping to a lot of the tracks here.
I most definitely have a bias for 90’s Rock. Enjoyed every track.
Hits all over the place
Brings me back to mid 90’s and 🔥🔥 Shirley Manson . Solid album
Solid record. The hits stand out from the rest of the pack, but enjoyed most of this.
A great album mixing genres and driven by Shirley Manson's slightly scary lyrics and style. It flowed against the mid-90s indie tide and great to listen again.
Is forgotten what a banging album this is. Some great tunes throughout
Shirley Manson is the 90s Debbie Harry. Oozing sensuality. And for that it's 4*
# Album Name: Garbage # Artist: Garbage # Rating: 4/5 # Comments: Takes me back to the 90s. Good solid album # Top Tunes: Queer / Happy when it rains / Stupid Girl / Milk # Would I listen to it again? Yes, most of it.
Another one I already know and love! Recently re-listened to this one and man, I don't give it enough credit for just how many bangers are on here. It's a welcome surprise to see this album make it on the list; a hodge-podge of genres with rock at its centre, but all of it comes together to create something very charming.
Right off the bat.. It's interesting. I'm spoiled by "better" music in this genre and from this time period, but I don't hate it. I wouldn't call it anything better than good. It has emotion, but it's just.. bland.
Always cool to hear those female-fronted rock bands. This one is pretty unique. It's some alt-rock with a lot of attitude that goes sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, and also has a lot of dance elements. Closest comparison would probably be Primal Scream but this is not really the same. Anyways, no need to compare it to anything, it's very good on its own.
A good antidote for that shite from Genesis. Thank god for some actual rock and compelling beats. A bit "busy" for my likes but in general it works and the music/voice definitely compelling. Some songs have an (almost) cinematic drive. Most excellent. Not perfect, but these ears are happy. 4 "happy to be rid of that Genesis dreck" stars.
Very nice album. I really enjoyed a lot of the songs.
Garbage – Garbage (1995) On Day 134, I stepped into a darker, more noir atmosphere. It was definitely the Lynchian vibe, the album has a distinct mood that is both "glitchy and tuff. While I wasn't feeling every single track enough to call it a masterpiece, it was a "good listen" with some high-level technical chemistry. The tracks that really stood out were "Vow," "My Lover's Box," and "Fix Me Now." Those are definitely ones I'll be revisiting. It’s a slick production that did its thing, earning a solid 4/5 and keeping the momentum high as I head into the next day.
This was a solid album. I got a little bored halfway through, but I added a few to my playlists. I wouldn't mind listening to it again.
It's an interesting album, to say the least. It blends a lot of different genres, but it's primarily alternative rock. It's a good album, but the album cover makes me feel weird for some reason. Great album, though.
Awesome. Lots of S-tier hits.
Great album!!! LOVE that it weaved in trip-hop and industrial influences whilst still keeping up that hard rock at the core. If I have anything negative to say, it's that it is very much a product of its time and that knocks it down a star for me. But the songs are fantastic, the production is fantastic and Shirley and the band show who they are from the get-go. Fantastic album! Highlights: Queer Only Happy When It Rains As Heaven Is Wide Stupid Girl
I'm pretty sure I had this CD back in the day. Solid alt rock! Only Happy When It Rains, Queer, Stupid Girl - bangers. The rest were decent too. (4)
✌️ pretty neat ngl lmao. didn't even know about it before this and i feel like i should have. idk what emoji for this either bc it's pretty diverse.
Lowkey kinetic.
I’ve never been a fan of Garbage. I’m still not, but I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would.
I was a pretty big fan of Garbage's first couple of albums in the 90s but haven't listened to this one in probably 20+ years. I went back and forth between wanting to give a 3-star and 4-star rating for this; at the time it was a pretty novel, catchy blend of styles/sounds, and Shirley Manson remains a very compelling front woman, but there are some real clunkers among the deep cuts, and a lot of the lyrics were pretty cringy even back when this came out. I settled on 4 stars because I always appreciate a confident, guns blazing debut like this.
Good stuff. Kinda runs long and gets a little repeaty but good sound.
Interesting album, I liked the production but not a surprise considering Butch Vig is so heavily involved. Definitely will return to this album.
This album has aged well. Shirley Manson is at her best here, and you can't deny that "Only Happy When It Rains" is a classic.
One of those albums that just feels like the 90s in music form, like Portishead but pop?
Oh hey! My mom likes this band! And I see why she likes them now that I'm listening to this album for myself. While much alt-rock of this time was much more, for lack of a better term, basic-sounding, this really does something interesting with its sound and influences it takes from. A lot of obvious dance-ey moments that I really appreciate, really noisy and lo-fi too, and really well-rounded. Obviously "Only Happy When It Rains" is a classic, but songs like "Supervixen," "As Heaven Is Wide," "Not My Idea," "Stupid Girl," and a few others all stand out as really great songs off of this album. Overall this album really stands out among the albums I've heard on here as a great example of great 90's music that uses its influences in ways that I really love and appreciate! 8.3/10
this is my mum’s fav so of course i’m obligated to rate it highly. i’m not mad about that either this slaps
Here’s a band from the US that has a Scottish singer. They were so popular for a time that they were selected to do the theme song for a James Bond movie. This is their debut album, which had a couple of singles (“Stupid Girl”, “I’m Only Happy When it Rains”). I think they could have eliminated two or three of the weaker tracks to make the album better, but still I think it’s just good enough for four stars.
Solid. Easy to listen to but with an edge.

Fav songs: Queer and Fix Me Now
Garbage (band & album name) this was (is?). Garbage (bad music) this was not.
Rv
Highlights: Supervixen, Queer, Only Happy When It Rains, As Heaven Is Wide, Vow, Stupid Girl, My Lover's Box, Milk
Pretty good ngl
I wasn’t expecting a ton from both an album and band called “Garbage” but this was anything but garbage. Killer riffs and great lyrics, very pleasantly surprised.
I really like her voice!
This is more complex than I expected. It almost reminds me of something Mike Patton could be involved with. There are a ton of great sounding songs here. I expected less. This is pretty great.
Femme grudge? I'm down.
Really liked this a lot! I don't know if I had ever heard this album all the way through before, but I liked it more as the the day went. It had a little early-NiN industrial vibe going on with it as well. Really great songs all the way through.
First time listen. Liked it a lot.
#5 9th April 2026 Never heard of this album or band before, but an actual wonder to listen to. The guitar, the drums, the vocals!! track mentions; my lover's box milk a stroke of luck
Solid album from a solid band! Great writing and production on these albums. Love the sound and the feel of this album, a bit dark but a gorgeous sound!
Tää löytyy omasta hyllystä ja tätä tuli ysärin puolivälissä kuunneltua. Eipä hirveesti enää sen jälkeen. Muutama todella hyvä biisi.
ME gusta la mezcla 90s/00s
This rocked. Funny album cover too.
A pleasant listen
fun album loved their vibe apparently this was their first album would listen more for sure fav songs: Queer, As heaven is wide, Milk
fav songs: queer only happy when it rains stupid girl milk confident, sleek, moody 70/100
It's a good rock album from the '90s, very similar to what P!nk is.
Really good album. You really don’t need to be very subtle with your lyrics when you make everything sound so cool
As a toddler I had this album imprinted into my brain. Revisiting it now for the first time in 30 years and it really explains a lot of how I ended up this way
I love me some punk. It's got such a good edge to it that grabs and holds your attention
8/10 otro de los super 90s. Canción favorita: Stupid girl
I love Shirley's voice. Really very good songs on here.
Know the band garbage Have the Album Garbage Know all the songs. This is a great album. Shirleys vocal and lyrics are excellent. The production is excellent. They kind of mix industrial, trip hop (pretty early on), rock and pop into a great sound.
I liked this one!
Just sound so.. cool, don't they? Overall decent album and consistent style, Stupid Girl is an all-time classic
Sounds great honestly
If only I found this during my introduction to shoegaze era. From the first track you can feel the impeccable sense of timing. It leads to deeply hypnotic melodies and songs that are endlessly replayable. Faves: Supervixen, Only Happy When It Rains, Stupid Girl, Not My Idea, Vow, Queer, My Lover’s Box
took me a while to get thru this one for some reason. the first half of it is solid enough, nothing i'd pick out as a favourite but i enjoy the crunchy guitars, the vocals are great and there's enough variation to avoid entirely fading into the background. ...and then i heard "as heaven is wide". "stupid girl" aside, the entire back third of this album feels like the soundtrack to a cancelled shadow the hedgehog sequel which was somehow released a decade before the original. and yeah, it fucks. the tracks take on a harder, darker and more industrial vibe and i love it a lot, especially "as heaven is wide" and "queer". if the whole album was this it might honestly be a 5. unfortunately its not. but does 4 tracks of "shadow the hedgehog music" on a 12 track album that was otherwise destined for a (strong) 3-star rating justify bumping it up to a 4? of course it does. are you fucking kidding me?? shadow the hedgehog is so fucking cool dude.
I bought this a little while ago on a mate's insistence, having never heard it for myself. I gave it a single spin and liked it, but I've not returned until today, which is a shame as this is a very good listen indeed. It provides a seductive, well-balanced fusion of noisy industrial power pop, alt rock and psychedelia, benefitting from some excellent production where layers of instrumentation combine and distort into one another fantastically well. It's also an emotionally dextrous effort, where the overarching mood is one of darkness, but the way in which it is revealed to the listener varies from outright vulnerability to a slight arrogance and edginess that is substantiated.
I really liked this album.
great
Not my genre, but have some interesting moments like a breaking beat
3.5
This is really really good, right up my alley. Almost no skips, but not exactly no skips 4.5/5
I went into this with low expectations and while I don’t love every song, I was pleasantly surprised by how many I did like. This album was popular in my formative years, and I think I was turned off by the high rotation of “stupid girl” and “only happy when it rains” which, now I really liked! Also, recognizing the bass and drums in Stupid Girl as a sample from Train in Vain was fun.
I was only familiar with one song before listening to this and I wasn't a fan of it. However this album has pleasantly surprised me and was much better than anticipated. 4/5
Très joli caillou
Some bangers on here. Drags in spots, but Vow, Stupid Girl, and Only Happy When it Rains are such heaters. 3.8/5
I've been meaning to check this album out since I was like 17-years-old, when I was in my peak grunge/90s rock discovery phase. Butch Vig (drums, loops, effects) was on the boards/credited Producer for some massive albums in the years leading up to Garbage's initially releases, including Nirvana's "Nevermind," Smashing Pumpkins' "Siamese Dream" and "Gish," Sonic Youth's "Dirty," etc. etc. dude was crucial in helping Billy Corgan achieve those huge My Bloody Valentine-influenced guitar sounds on Siamese Dream, so I had high hopes to hear some swirling noise trickery going into Garbage. they do not disappoint. this thing is moody af, still fun, and rocks. the band sound amazing, and Shirley Manson's vocal performance delivers cool confidence across all the songs. "Queer" is like a precursor to a decent chunk of St. Vincent's songs; "Stupid Girl" approaches dance music. a lot of highlights here, some which will be on repeat for me for a while, and I'm now excited to go check out their follow-ups.
The first three songs had me pretty excited. The rest were good and with plenty of great moments, but largely tipped a bit too much into the Cranberries side of the alternative spectrum. Calling that song “Not My Idea” where they crib the opening guitar riff from “Soon” is diabolical. But a lot of what I liked about this album seemed inspired by British indie pop of the 80s and early 90s.
Liked this one more than I was expecting to. Thought I might get tired of the style before the end of the album, but there was enough variation to keep me interested the whole way. Not sure if I'll return to it, but I did enjoy it. Fav song: Only Happy When it Rains Least fav: As Heaven Is Wide
I like the grungeyness a bit but didn’t do it for me. Specific rating - 3.8 Fav song- stupid girl Least fav - milk
Sounds ahead of its time slightly. Solid rock-pop, 7/10
Very strong album with iconic songs
Tired baddie
The grunge era could have benefited from more baddies.
I can't believe this album is over 30 years old - it sounds like "modern" music to me but it was as close to the Beatles early stuff as it is to the current day. Some fun tunes and I really liked the very heavy guitars on a pop-rock thing they have on some songs.
Supervixen - nice jams, too soft, doesn't take off. Queer - moody, nice. OHWIR - smooth punk. As Heaven Is Wide - PS1 futuristic game intro-ahh song, but it turns into a very interesting melody. Great for some atmospheric neo-noir or cyber-noir. Not My Idea - the twang and tune of the song is a bit heavier/rawer, which I like. A Stroke of Luck - continuing with peak cinematic OST-vibes. No seriously i hope the next Batman uses this song or something. Vow - came and went. Stupid Girl - alright, same as above. Dog New Tricks - from the first notes, knew it was good. Didn't quite live up to my internalized hype, but still prolly the most likable. My Lover's Box - it's aight, some nice tones in parts of the melody that stood out, not enough. Fix Me Now - meh, although the instrumental side is interesting and nostalgic. (extra tracks from the Super Deluxe version) Milk - melancholic. Subhuman - not particularly interesting. Should be edgier... Girl Don't Come - fun instrumental track, goes down easy, timeless tunes. Sleep - barely a song but definitely vibes, again, cinematic. Driving Lesson - if this wasn't in some late 90s PS1 racing game then what is the point of it all? Trip My Wire - feels like a key change from the previous song, idk, i wish it was heavier (my common reaction to most rock). Kinda catchy, but eh. #1 Crush - the actual song has a good balance of melody, lyrics and heavier tones. Evocative. Sus noises. Butterfly Collector - I love it when the song's mood instantly matches what I imagined from the name... Alien Sex Fiend - definitely moody and esoteric tune, the vocals/singing/lyrics are not the most inspired tho. Kick My Ass - works as a somber or melancholic outro song, i suppose, nothing special.
i am only vaguely familiar with this record, excited for this one due to that vague familiarity also the album cover matches my aura 15 seconds in ok I can tell ima like this one curse my weakness towards blonde haired rocker chicks with an attitude just fast paced enough this album is just so quality, I didn't get bored of a single track
I really like Shirley Manson. She was really good live. I liked this recording.
Much more varied than I was expecting from the lead singles. This was actually pretty rad!
This is a great album. It is difficult to quantify just how different this was at the time and how quickly a lot of it was copied. That being said I can totally understand how someone could truly dislike this, it isn't for everyone. The best tracks are far and away the less commercial (though it could be said the polish on the production is that it is in fact incredibly commercial for the time period) non single tracks. A masterpiece? God no. A really good album? Eff yeah.
Classic grunge for me.
The 90s production maybe makes it sound a bit dated, but let’s be honest, that was a better time so I can live with it. Plus I had such a thing for Shirley Manson… 💕
Eu possivelmente teria feito um álbum assim se eu fosse talentoso e tivesse uma banda na década de 90
Loved this! A solid tracklist with some incredible sounds. Manson's deep voice with the album production is so cool and exactly the kind of vibe I needed to power through some university work whilst listening. Rating: 4.
Rock, Pop, Indie,m Grungey masterpiece. Starts off really strong and stays that way throughout. The production is really great on here as well. I like a bunch of the songs on here, Supervixen, Only Happy When It Rains and As Heaven As Wide are all great IMO. Towards the end a few of the songs interest me a bit less and it does rely a bit on the strength of the singles, but a really good listen nonetheless.
First thoughts: I enjoy how eclectic Garage's sound is. Alt rock guitar, breakbeats, electronic/synthesized sounds, and all kinds of other influences somehow come together to sound surprisingly poppy. Each track sounds really well-produced to me, with plenty of little bursts of refreshing new sounds. The fuzz/grunge on the guitar in "Only Happy When It Rains" is so rich!
This album has a very cool vibe.
nie sadzilem, ze poczuje sie tak gleboko poruszony kontentem na albumu smieciowym od smieci
Me gusta el tono de rock, definitivamente este album me ha gustado mas, una excelente recomendacion ya que nunca habia escuchado a Garbage.
I remember such a dense sounding album coming out in '95 felt slightly abnormal at time, or kind of against type. A lot of the grunge or other alternative stuff was loud, sure, but you knew what instrument was doing what. The production on this one is not an audiophile's dream where each instrument is set to the proper volume to blend in with everything else like a wonderfully crafted Steely Dan record. No, everything is maxed out and bleeds together and in your face. And I'm good with that style too! This is a record where every song is good, with a few great ones sprinkled in. Like "Vow" is such a mean track, and "Stupid Girl" feels like the Clash's "Train In Vain" turned sideways. (Edit: just found out they sampled the drum loop from them. Go figure.) Definitely a damn good album.
Garbage is a gateway drug to Nine Inch Nails (complimentary)
8/10 me gustó mucho vow
The songwriting propels it above a lot of its contemporaries of the time. Some killer tunes.
Very cool album! Played it through twice. Loved most of it with some songs that are absolute favorites.
hell yeah
We have to stan. Except for the singular track that set off my tinnitus. Stellar overall!
This is a perfect slice of 90’s nostalgia. I had this instantly in ‘95 and remember that it didn’t stack up to what I was really into at the time but I still enjoyed it. It’s Butch Vig’s band and he was red hot from producing Nirvana’s Nevermind and Siamese Dream and Gish by Smashing Pumpkins. Listening now, these songs are far richer and more electro than I recall. Vow and Stupid Girl have always been massive highlights. I’d say Stupid Girl is the ultimate 90’s song…it still sounds like the quickening heartbeat of arousal. Supervixen rips the band aid off with a drum beat homage to My Bloody Valentine. A Stroke of Luck and Milk (and non-album hit #1 Crush) are dark sensual perfection. They sound as it would feel to run your fingers through the hot pink feathers on the cover. As Heaven Is Wide is electro trash house. God does that song hold up! I think this albums only fault is that its weakest songs (to me) are the beginning three. They’re not bad at all, they just don’t reach later heights. Once it gets rolling, it’s an absolute thrill ride. This record is perfectly produced and it still sounds hot. 4.5/5
great album, composed well with an interesting range of sounds
This was good! There were more tracks that I recognized off of this album than I was expecting. Solid grunge/alt rock, but not all-time good.
I really enjoy the layered soundscapes on this album. Shirley's vocals on top of the industrial noise and distorted guitars is a fun contrast. It IS sort of a lot to take in all at once, so it'd be difficult to listen to more than one of their albums in a row. I'm not bringing that up as a negative, however Milk was something I hadn't heard before (or remembered), but really loved the dreamy sounds and Shirley's vocals
Pretty great all the way through. An anytime listen.
By definition a true Alternative album. Is it rock, pop, techno? Yes. Dark brooding lyrics and sounds that weave between songs. At times it make me want to light candles and reapply black nail polish. Then I want to hit a club and dance until I don't feel feelings anymore. This is right in the sweet spot of high school nostalgia. Supervixen Queer Only Happy When It Rains Stupid Girl
This is my wife's favorite band and they and this album have greatly grown on me over the past 15 years.
Very solid pop rock album. Whenever I started drifting from it another catchy track would pull me back. Fave Tracks: Supervixen, Not My Idea, Stupid Girl, Fix Me Now 3.9/5
I think this album is what would happen if you put every popular 90s genre in a blender just to see what happens. The songs that lean towards grungy pop rock are pretty good. The ones that are more electronica aren't. 3.5
angry girl music of the alt rock persuasion
Love this album. Favorite songs: A Stroke of Luck, My Lover's Box, Vow
Garbage
I really liked this album and I had no idea I would
7/10 – Good
Sooooo 90s. I liked the vibes.
Fun, cohesive listen! I love women in music
Well, well... I didn't know what to expect, and I didn't really expect much, honestly, but this has been much much better than what I thought it would be. This album is a very good one! Some songs are not much of my cup of tea, but others are quite good.
Eu não esperava muito deste álbum, porém ele acabou me surpreendendo bastante. Seu estilo musical varia bastante, porém o gênero que prevalece é o alternativo. Gostei bastante deste disco, ele superou todas as minhas expectativas!
Listening session: january 29th, while commuting from and to internship Listened to before: heard one song before Thoughts: this feels like the soundtrack to a 90s edgy teen movie Favourite tracks: Queer, Not My Idea & Stupid Girl
Good, well made. After one listen hard for it to stand out but it’s cool.
Great production and some really nice hooks and general sounds throughout.
Didn't expect much, only knowing I'm "Only Happy When it Rains", but the album was overall a pleasant surprise. 7/10
3.5 (50:51, 12 tracks, debut, 1995) Alternative, USA (WI) I love Butch Vig – who couldn’t. Producer of among others Niravana, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins; however, I always found his band Garbage a bit overproduced (I mean he is a producer). However, their debut track was all killer, no killer. Spawning 5 radio hits and 2 more alt radio frequent plays. Lean hard towards 4 as it is just so good throughout - I just don't feel like it's genre defining or even necessarily an album anyone needs to listen to before they die. The majority of the album is a tongue in cheek mockery of the grunge scene at the time becoming all about being dark and depressed. Butch Vig producer and owner of Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin cofounded Garbage. Scottish born Shirley Manson was contacted to be the lead vocalist of the band, she didn't know who Vig was and was urged to check the credits on Nirvana's Nevermind. Garbage work on their debut album delayed by Vig's work producing Soul Asylum's Let Your Dim Light Shine. Given Vig "got bored spending so many years recording really fast, straightforward punk records", the band "didn't want to approach the Garbage record from the angle of a band playing live", making their songs out of samples that would be processed and reworked in a Wall of Sound process "to create something that sounded fresh." A major part of the work involved Manson rewriting the song lyrics, which Vig said the band attempted to "write from a woman's perspective and I think, initially, some of them were a little pretentious. But as soon as Shirley came on board, she simplified the lyrics so that they were a lot more subtle and worked better as songs." The lyrics on the record were described by the band members as "a collaborative psycho-therapy session wherein personal demons of various sizes and importance are exorcised, vilified, taken revenge upon and laid to rest." Vig said they tried to deal with "dark themes that I think a lot of people can relate to in some way or another", which included voyeurism, hedonism, perversion, obsession and "the art of self-destruction." "The initial idea was to make this a dark lyric with a shiny, happy, pop sensibility. You could be singing this really catchy line and realize the lyrics were totally wacked." Manson revealed that "Fix Me Now" was originally titled "Chris Cornell", because she was obsessed with the lead singer of Soundgarden. 'Stupid Girl' that was initially a mistake, it didn't fit Shirley's range, but when we slowed it down, actually fit the timbre and pace of the song and became the hook." Vig stated that the band had no initial plans to tour as "not going on the road would really free us up to record tons of stuff." As the band members realized "that if we were going to have a successful record we'd have to go out on tour and promote it.' They enjoyed playing live to record the "Vow" video, they decided to perform to audiences as well. To perform the complex and layered tracks live, the band hired Los Angeles bass player Daniel Shulman for the tour, and figured out ways to trigger samples on stage, such as having Marker play a keyboard along with his guitar. Garbage set off on a 17-date headline tour of North America. Garbage then supported Smashing Pumpkins on their North American arena tour from June 25, although the tour was cut short after the death of Smashing Pumpkins keyboardist Jonathan Melvoin on July 12. Garbage was named the 71st greatest album of all time by The Guardian in 1997. Favorite Song: Supervixen **Singles from Garbage 1. still as good as i remember <3
A well written and well produced album by the band in an era where defining yourself against your competitors as being different must’ve been a challenge.

Anything but. Sexy dark album.
Fresco, innovador, arriesgado. No necesariamente mejor o peor, simplemente a otro nivel.
Not having heard this for many years, I'm reminded how good it actually was. An absolutely typical mid-nineties slab of British alt-rock. Simple, yet effective song structures. It's on my shelves. The way the Wikipedia is written describes the process of forming this band is, like, 3 producer musician dudes in Wisconsin were noodling on some experiments before they were like, “You know what, we need a lead singer who’s a girl, like just about any girl will do, how about this one from Scotland we saw on TV once?” So if that’s the case, it’s pretty amazing they plucked Shirley Manson out of a hat and ended up with some really solid song structures to wrap all their insane instrumentation around. I love arguably over produced albums so I pretty much dug this and the highly noisy yet very refined approach to production here. Really feels like where grunge meets electro pop.
Best Song: Only Happy when it Rains This has some strong nostalgic value for me. This was really popular, especially with women (who are most likely menopausal at this point) in 1995. It's a good album, I like the direction it was heading us towards and, sadly, wouldn't last too long before the pop queens like Brittney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc. started coming around. 4/5.
