Absolutely hate the continually forced vibrato vocals which makes the whole thing a chore to listen to. Musically it's very one dimensional too.
This has no redeeming features. One paced, crap lyrics, average vocals. Would get a pleasant polite applause at a Monday night open mic session down the pub.

Really frustrating album for me. Some absolutely brilliant tracks... but overly long with some bog average ones and lazy lyrics... Generally far far too much autotune and vocal production which strips some of the emotion that he's conveying.
The band are amazingly talented, majority of the songs are great... but having a chump that sounds like Randy Newman on vocals automatically means they can't get over 3*.
Really disappointing compared to Stand... Meanders along without much purpose or direction, and crappy production. Shame

I enjoy the chaotic aspect of it all, and is quite a fun album, but they obviously made an informed decision to make it sound like it was recorded in a toilet in 1975. The lack of bass really reduces any impact it could have too and leaves it hard it listen to. Perhaps a slightly harsh 2* but I won't be listening to it again

I get what this album is trying to be... But Harvey rarely steps up to the early 90's alternative mark that is obviously being aimed for. Albini was obviously also allowed free reign to do whatever the fuck he wanted as there's a wide variation in production quality that he was guilty of in those days. Shame as the talent was there to really make a great record of this type. More tracks of the quality of Me Jane were needed

This is the 3rd mbv album we've had, the 1st two did nothing for me, v but this is the seminal one so had high hopes. In conclusion, they are overrated imho. This is an okay album, but feels like it's a shoegaze album for people who don't listen to shoegaze to be able to say they listen to shoegaze 😂 basic throughout

There is no way there needs to be more than 1 Nick Drake album on this list... nevermind 3 of them. But a good (and melancholic as always) listen

Really fun album, and a brilliant live band too. Will ignore the fact that it's pretty much a compiliation album this one time...

Disco really isn't my thing, and a lot of these tracks are overplayed, but it's impossible to deny the quality here so have to give it a 4
